Types Of Nuts And Bolts
Tumblr media
What are Nuts?
A nut is a type of fastener that is made up of a block with a threaded hole in the centre. The hole has ‘female’ threads that match the male threads of a bolt or screw.
To hold materials together, nuts are utilised in conjunction with their mating bolt or screw. Ananka Fasteners is the leading high-quality Nuts Manufacturer and Supplier in India.
The hexagonal form is the most frequent for a nut because six sides allow more angles for a tool to approach from, albeit the corners are more sensitive to getting rounded off over time, making them less convenient to use with tools. Square nuts, which are less frequent, can also be utilised.
Types of Nuts
There are many different types of nuts because they are used for so many different applications. Among them are the following:
Hex Nuts: Hex Nuts are six sided general purpose nuts with internal screw threads. Hex nuts are one of the most common hexagonal fasteners with internal threads that screw on to the shank of a hex head cap screw or other bolts. Hex jam nuts, heavy hex nuts, and lock nuts are just a few types of hex nuts we carry.
Hex Coupling Nuts: Hex Coupling Nuts, also known as extension nuts, are elongated internally threaded nuts used to join two male threads. Coupling nuts are often used for joining threaded rods or hanger bolts in a variety of applications that require extending threaded rod or attaching like items.
Hex Flange Nuts: Hex Flange Nuts are hex nuts with a wide flange portion near one end that acts as an integrated non-spinning washer. Flange nuts are used to spread the load placed on the nut over a wider surface area to prevent damage to the installation material.
12 Point Flange Nuts: 12 Point Flange Nuts are commonly used to speed up assembly operations or in areas where their larger bearing surface can cover oversized holes or slots The additional bearing surface also serves to distribute the pressure of the nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage or to loosen.
Weld Square Nuts: A Weld Square Nuts is a special type of nut specifically designed to be welded to another object (spot welding).
K Lock Nuts: Keps Nuts, or K Lock Nuts, are hex nuts pre-assembled with a free spinning external tooth lock washer. The locking action is achieved when the nut is tightened against a bearing surface as the teeth of the washer dig into it.
What is a Bolt?
A bolt is a threaded shaft mechanical fastening. Bolts and screws, both mechanical fasteners having threaded shafts, are closely linked. These fasteners are usually put through two pieces having holes that are aligned. The High Tensile Bolt is a bolt with high tensile strength. M8 High Tensile Bolts have an 8mm diameter and come in a variety of lengths and material grades. The M10 High Tensile Bolts are threaded on both ends and are made of metal.
Types of bolts
Hex Bolt: Hex Bolt have hexagonal heads and machine threads for use with a nut or in a tapped hole. Also known as hex cap screws or machine bolts.
Elevator Bolts: Originally designed for attaching elevator buckets to conveyor belts, Elevator Bolts are similar to carriage bolts, except the head is thin and flat. Elevator Bolts have a square neck that resists turning when the nut is tightened or removed.
Eye Bolts: Eye Bolts can be used as a connection point for rigging, anchoring, pulling, pushing, or hoisting applications. Although eye bolts are commonly used in industrial applications, they're also commonly misunderstood or used incorrectly
The High Tensile Bolt is a bolt with high tensile strength. The composition of a material can vary depending on its grade. Because of their high tensile strength, the majority of these are chromium nickel and nickel-copper alloys. Some definitions say that whether something is a bolt or a screw depends on how it is used. A bolt is threaded through all of the pieces, and a nut is fitted onto the bolt to provide clamping force and restrict axial movement.
Ananka Group is also a major Bolt Manufacturer,Nuts Manufacturer, Screw Manufacturer, Washers Manufacturer and Stud Bolt Manufacturer in India.

Full Auto Friday: MAC-10 Edition (VIDEOS)
youtube
The original all-American room broom — the Ingram MAC-10 — was a child of the 1960s but will likely remain iconic for generations.
Springing from the mind of California-born Gordon B. Ingram, the MAC-10 was the end result of nearly two decades of the inventor’s obsession with interesting submachine gun designs. A WWII infantry vet who saw service in Europe, Ingram had a first-hand working knowledge of 1st and 2nd generation SMGs like the Thompson and M3 Grease Gun and, by 1946, had crafted his own, albeit unsuccessful, burp gun design.
Eventually, he continued down the path until the Ingram Model 6 was put into low-rate production and, pitched to military and police users, was adopted by a few prisons and the Peruvian military. Then came his Models 7, 8 and 9 (see where we are going with this?) through the 1950s, until he finally hit the relative small gun big leagues with his 1964-designed Model 10.
Manufactured at first by the Military Armament Corporation in Georgia, which was basically just Ingram and early suppressor magician Mitchell WerBell along with a few investors, the M10 was simple and cheap.
There wasn’t a lot to Mr. Ingram’s M10
Made from sheet metal stampings and originally just full-auto-only, the compact open-bolt machine pistol was less than 11-inches long overall with its wire stock compacted and could tickle off at about 700 rounds-per-minute. Although the straight-blowback design was at first prototyped as being chambered in 9mm Para, production soon switched to .45ACP while a smaller .380ACP variant was labeled the MAC M11.
youtube
The gun was built by MAC and its successors through the early 1980s, and, although it was shopped extensively by WerBell to the military — his suppressors were used in small numbers by special operations guys like MACVSOG and the like in Vietnam — the gun received few military orders. As noted by firearm historian Frank Iannamico, the Navy SEALs purchased a small quantity of Ingrams in 1971 and used them as late as the first Gulf War in 1991.
The M10 saw a very small amount of U.S. military service but was extensively marketed overseas throughout its production history.
However, the MAC-10 (a designation that was never actually used by the company), became hugely popular during the Disco-era as it appeared in the hands of John Wayne in the crime drama McQ, Michael Caine in the spy thriller The Black Windmill, and Pam Grier in Sheba Baby, all in the same year. Since then, it has been in over 100 films as well as legions of TV shows and video games.
Wayne, Caine, and Grier agree, the MAC was the big little SMG of 1974 (Photos: IMFDB)
Due to its compact nature, the gun also lived on in the late 1970s and early 1980s as something of a specialty piece for dignitary protection (there was even a model of briefcases marketed to carry the M10 ready to fire), and cloak and dagger types.
Here we see SevenTrees compact holster/gun savant Paris Theodore with a holstered M11, as well as a later Desantis rig for carrying the M10 under a jacket. If the rig looks familiar, Chuck Norris wore a similar one for a pair of MAC-ish Micro Uzis in the 1985 film, Invasion USA.
When the Hughes Amendment hit in 1986, it took the good old days of the relatively inexpensive — as low as $418 at the time — M10/11 out forever and the today the guns run north of the $7K mark for transferrable examples, as production long ago ceased.
There is, of course, semi-auto Ingram-style pistols and carbines out there as well, but they are nowhere near as fun.
