Wait, Chris’s sister went to drama school?? Was she trying to make it in HW, too? I mean, that obvi didn’t happen, but now I’m curious as to why. I mean, granted, not everyone who goes to drama school, especially top places like at NYU, will necessarily make it in the industry. Chris, for example, didn’t go to school at all I believe. Like you said, he went straight from high school to LA looking for work. I think Scott went to USC or UCLA for their drama/acting program, too, right? And while he has been working here and there, he hasn’t had the same success as Chris.

I’m not sure what my point is or what I’m trying to say here, just thinking out loud honestly and I find it so interesting comparing the difference in education -> career trajectory. I mean, then there’s Pedro who you brought up who did go to a prestigious school for acting and while it took some time he’s finally getting his big break now.

I mean, there really isn’t a linear path of how one makes it successfully in HW. It’s not like becoming a doctor for example where it’s more clear-cut: you go to school, take the exams I believe then find a hospital to do a residency and then land somewhere for work. You know what I mean? Like there’s steps that one has to complete in order to become a doctor. But it’s SO different when it comes to becoming an actor. Just because you go to drama school, especially a prestigious one, does not 100% guarantee that you’ll make it big - or even at all. There are SO many different routes - some people don’t even go to school!

Anyway, I could go on, but I just find this whole comparison really fascinating. And I am wondering now why his sister didn’t make it, or at least get any roles, big or small. They’ve all been acting since they were kids, so she clearly has the experience AND education. Again, just thinking out loud.

I would love to know your take on this, Nancy? And also, if there’s anyone here who knows more about this stuff and could weigh in - I’d love to hear their thoughts as well!!

No, I don't think Carly had any Hollywood aspirations, as she did stay at college to get a M.A. in theater from NYU as well, an then went back to MA to be a teacher. I think Carly is more into directing, from what it seems. Scott also followed in her footsteps and went to NYU.

As stated above, she's a vampire and a musician from the Land of Ooo. She's very talented, has a bit of a temper, but is overall a very caring and creative person.
