------------------------------------
As we discussed, this does represent a significant deployment of SLDF personnel, but the experience these units will gain will far outweigh any risks. Standing up units with the names and recruitment profiles of old SLDF regiments is a powerful tool to establish continuity with the old Star League, and provide the people of Terra incentives to join up. I am hoping similar programs can be carried out as the Star League expands.
Deployment of these forces will begin on D+6, following destruction of remaining Blakist assets in the Coen Regional Area of Operations (CRAO), currently scheduled for tomorrow, D+5. Most of the forces listed here will deploy to pre-selected AOs across Helios, with several SLDF Regular units detailed to continue occupation operations in the CRAO following the first and second wave units departure to a new AO.
Mercenary and non-Star League forces will be assigned as deemed fit. Currently I plan on attaching the following units to my own operational sector command - in addition to those already attached in prior waves:
2nd Royal BattleMech Regiment
59th Royal Jump Infantry Regiment
124th Royal Heavy Assault Regiment
1st Royal Separate Special Purpose Regiment
46th BattleMech Regiment
1st Ukrainian Regiment
1st Infantry Regiment
Taurian Guards Regiment
1st Canopian Night Stalkers
2nd Canopian Fusiliers
Hikage
Ryuken-San
3rd Davion Guards
Neon Knights
Yours,
M. Hazen
Commanding General, SLDF

* Sometimes it’s not possible to tell which of the sisters are on screen in any given shot, so I’m just making one calculation for when any of them are on screen. I don’t like it, but it’s the best accurate option I have. ** Includes the Sasaki characters from the anime. Yui is just Moira with a different name, and Takeo is somewhat David but more Kevin, so I’m counting him towards Kevin. *** Includes their appearances as illusions in Emma’s mind in Astonishing X-Men.

Mass Effect Trilogy Tag
Tagged by: @nicolasadrabbles
I actually got into the game just after ME2 came out in 2010, when I'd bought a 360 for a much anticipated G1-based Transformers game I'd preordered. I wanted a game to play while I waited and a friend recommended Mass Effect. From that point on, I was hooked.
Favorite game of the series: Mass Effect 2. It's more character driven, sure, but I really like being able to build up relationships and the focus on learning more about the truth of what happened to the Protheans.
MaleShep or FemShep?: I've always played with femShep, and I'll always play femShep in the future.
Earthborn, Colonist or Spacer?: My two main Shepards are Spacer and Colonist respectively, and I like them both for entirely different reasons, and for entirely different levels of angst.
Paragon or Renegade?: I am physically incapable of being intentionally mean to a character in a video game, so most of my playthroughs are overwhelmingly Paragon. Desi leans a little more Paragade but still overall pretty blue.
Biotics or Tech?: Hilariously, for my main Shepard, neither. She's a soldier and she is totally fine with shooting and/or punching a problem she can't talk down until it stops being a problem. But if I had to personally pick, biotics.
Favorite class: Soldier. I know it's the stock Basic Bitch class but it's honestly really fun, and it's just hilarious that this Just A Guy soldier would become the savior of the galaxy when surrounded by space wizards and tech geniuses.
Favorite companion: Garrus is definitely top of the list, followed immediately after by Tali and Kasumi, depending on the mission. They all had some of the best dialogue, and I am terrible at balancing a party.
Least favorite companion: Vega. I love him as a character, but I really was just generally frustrated that he took up the tank slot normally filled by a krogan, and we were denied Baby Boy Grunt. Still love him though.
My squad selection: ME1 - Garrus and Wrex or Garrus and Tali, sometimes Wrex and Tali, ME2 - Garrus and Tali, usually, but occasionally Zaeed and Kasumi for shits and giggles, ME3 - I weirdly never had a set squad but I did usually have Garrus with me.
Favorite in-game romance: Garrus, with Thane a close second despite his treatment by Bioware.
Other pairings I like: Tali/Kal, Sam/Gabby, Joker/Edi
Favorite NPC: Nyreen, Kal'Reegar, Zaal'Koris, and Niftu Cal
Favorite antagonist: I am again a basic bitch and really like Saren. His history fascinates me, and he's honestly a great mirror to hold up of what Shepard could become if they aren't careful.
Favorite mission: Priority: Rannoch. There's just something really heartbreaking but at the same time really sweet about it, depending on how you play it, though I always make peace between the quarians and the geth... which I think lends to the poignancy I feel. Their war ends in peace in the very place it began.
Favorite loyalty mission: Easily Tali's loyalty mission. My heart breaks for her every single time I play through it, especially when she breaks down after finding her father's body. And being able to rally the crowd if you helped Veetor and save Kal is easily my favorite way to solve that mission... unorthodox AND fun.
Favorite DLC: Lair of the Shadow Broker. It has some of the best dialogue in the entire game, including my favorite exchange between Liara and Shepard (see below).
Control, Synthesis or Destroy?: Destroy. The whole twist "but the Reapers aren't really bad they really just want to prove organics and synthetics will never get along" bs never sits well with me when I just made peace between the quarians and the geth and taught an AI to love. I usually use one of the happy ending mods just to clear it out further.
Favorite weapon: M-7 Lancer and M-5 Phalanx, my beloveds.
Favorite place: The Migrant Fleet, for what little time we get to spend there. But part of that is a wish of what could have been- I'd have loved to have seen more of it.
A quote I like:
Shepard: What kind of weapons does this thing have? Liara: It's a taxi; it has a fare meter!
Tagging... anyone who wants to do it!

Ancient Greek names of kings of Macedon and Diadochi
1. ALEXANDROS m Ancient Greek (ALEXANDER Latinized) Pronounced: al-eg-ZAN-dur From the Greek name Alexandros, which meant ‘defending men’ from Greek alexein ‘to defend, protect, help’ and aner ‘man’ (genitive andros). Alexander the Great, King of Macedon, is the most famous bearer of this name. In the 4th century BC he built a huge empire out of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India. The name was borne by five kings of Macedon.
2. PHILIPPOS m Ancient Greek (PHILIP Latinized) Pronounced: FIL-ip From the Greek name Philippos which means ‘friend of horses’, composed of the elements philos ‘friend’ and hippos ‘horse’. The name was borne by five kings of Macedon, including Philip II the father of Alexander the Great.
3. AEROPOS m Ancient Greek, Greek Mythology Male form of Aerope who in Greek mythology was the wife of King Atreus of Mycenae. Aeropos was also the son of Aerope, daughter of Kepheus: ‘Ares, the Tegeans say, mated with Aerope, daughter of Kepheus (king of Tegea), the son of Aleos. She died in giving birth to a child, Aeropos, who clung to his mother even when she was dead, and sucked great abundance of milk from her breasts. Now this took place by the will of Ares.’ (Pausanias 8.44.) The name was borne by two kings of Macedon.
4. ALKETAS m Ancient Greek (ALCAEUS Latinized) Pronounced: al-SEE-us Derived from Greek alke meaning ‘strength’. This was the name of a 7th-century BC lyric poet from the island of Lesbos.
5. AMYNTAS m Ancient Greek Derived from Greek amyntor meaning ‘defender’. The name was borne by three kings of Macedon.
6. ANTIGONOS m Ancient Greek (ANTIGONUS Latinized) Pronounced: an-TIG-o-nus Means ‘like the ancestor’ from Greek anti ‘like’ and goneus ‘ancestor’. This was the name of one of Alexander the Great’s generals. After Alexander died, he took control of most of Asia Minor. He was known as Antigonus ‘Monophthalmos’ (‘the One-Eyed’). Antigonos II (ruled 277-239 BC) was known as ‘Gonatos’ (‘knee, kneel’).
7. ANTIPATROS m Ancient Greek (ANTIPATER Latinized) Pronounced: an-TI-pa-tur From the Greek name Antipatros, which meant ‘like the father’ from Greek anti ‘like’ and pater ‘father’. This was the name of an officer of Alexander the Great, who became the regent of Macedon during Alexander’s absence.
8. ARCHELAOS m Ancient Greek (ARCHELAUS Latinized) Pronounced: ar-kee-LAY-us Latinized form of the Greek name Archelaos, which meant ‘master of the people’ from arche ‘master’ and laos ‘people’. It was also the name of the 7th Spartan king who came in the throne of Sparti in 886 BC, long before the establishment of the Macedonian state.
9. ARGAIOS m Greek Mythology (ARGUS Latinized) Derived from Greek argos meaning ‘glistening, shining’. In Greek myth this name belongs to both the man who built the Argo and a man with a hundred eyes. The name was borne by three kings of Macedon.
10. DEMETRIOS m Ancient Greek (DEMETRIUS Latinized) Latin form of the Greek name Demetrios, which was derived from the name of the Greek goddess Demeter. Kings of Macedon and the Seleucid kingdom have had this name. Demetrios I (ruled 309-301 BC) was known as ‘Poliorketes’ (the ‘Beseiger’).
11. KARANOS m Ancient Greek (CARANUS Latinized) Derived from the archaic Greek word ‘koiranos’ or ‘karanon”, meaning ‘ruler’, ‘leader’ or ‘king’. Both words stem from the same archaic Doric root ‘kara’ meaning head, hence leader, royal master. The word ‘koiranos’ already had the meaning of ruler or king in Homer. Karanos is the name of the founder of the Argead dynasty of the Kings of Macedon.
12. KASSANDROS m Greek Mythology (CASSANDER Latinized) Pronounced: ka-SAN-dros Possibly means ‘shining upon man’, derived from Greek kekasmai ‘to shine’ and aner ‘man’ (genitive andros). In Greek myth Cassandra was a Trojan princess, the daughter of Priam and Hecuba. 5e Homebrew: Guardian Spells
Here are a bunch of new 5e spells that summon temporary or permanent guardians! Inspired by one of our sessions where I jokingly cast “wall of bandits” on a player as a whole line of bandits advanced on them. Well, now you can actually cast it (and it can be any generic humanoid)! Some of these spells added ways to create guardians that are mentioned to be created by magic, but no spell existed for players to create them: flameskulls, scarecrows, spectators, and shield guardians.
If you want the PDF, you can find it over on my Patreon.
Create Flameskull
8th-level necromancy
Casting Time: 1 day
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (two rubies worth 1000 gp each, consumed by the spell)
Duration: Permanent
When you cast this spell, you target a humanoid skull of a creature that could cast spells of at least 3rd level. The corpse's skull animates and gains the statistics of a flameskull. As the spell is cast, you determine a set of instructions, which the creature carries out to the best of its ability. The instructions must be precise, as the flameskull takes its instructions literally. Once given its initial instructions, it cannot be given new commands nor can its instructions be amended, even if commanded to do so.
Create Shield Guardian
5th-level transmutation
Casting Time: 30 days
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (50,000 gp of arcane material, wood, and metal, consumed by the spell)
Duration: Permanent
You must spend 8 hours each day towards the casting of this spell, crafting a Large humanoid construct and preparing magical reagents. When the spell is complete, you animate the construct which gains the properties of a shield guardian with a 4th level spell stored within it which you must be able to cast each day during the spell's casting.
The material cost of the spell includes a control amulet with AC 10, 10 hit points, and immunity to poison and psychic damage. If the control amulet is destroyed, a new one can be created using 1,000 gp of resources and 1 week of work. Creating a new amulet while the previous one still exists has no effect.
The guardian acts on its own initiative. It defends any creature holding its control amulet, and follows that creature's orders to the best of its ability. It is friendly towards creatures designated by the amulet's wearer.
Conjure Guardians
3rd-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 5 feet
Components: V, S, M (a pair of tiny steel shields)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You conjure 2 humanoid guardians with the statistics of a phalanx guard (statistics below). The creatures appear occupying 5-foot square spaces on the ground that you designate within range. Their attacks are magical. The conjured creatures cannot use items or wield weapons other than the ones already on their person, as part of the magic of the spell.
During each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to command the creatures. The creatures act immediately after each of your turns. If given no commands, the creatures take the Dodge action.
Each creature disappears when reduced to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
Conjure Phalanx
6th-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 90 feet
Components: V, S, M (a handful of tiny steel shields)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You conjure up to 8 magical humanoid guardians to protect you, each with the statistics and equipment of a phalanx guard (statistics below). Their movement speed is 0, they are immune to the charmed and frightened conditions, and their attacks are magical. The conjured creatures cannot use items or wield weapons other than the ones already on their person, as part of the magic of the spell.
Each creature appears on the ground, occupying a 5-foot square space either two rows of five, or one row of ten and all facing the direction of your choice.
During each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to move the creatures and also command them to attack.
You can move the creatures up to 30 feet in any direction along the ground or else you may rotate their formation 90 degrees to the left or right. If they hit an obstacle, the entire formation stops moving.
The creatures act simultaneously, immediately after each of your turns. The creatures attack any targets you commanded them to attack during your turn. If given no commands, the creatures take the Dodge action. The creatures cannot take actions other than those described.
At the start of each of your turns, any creatures forced out of formation are teleported back into their place in the formation, and then the creatures move inward to close any gaps. Each creature disappears when reduced to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
Conjure Scarecrow
2nd-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 5 feet
Components: V, S, M (a doll of straw)
Duration: 8 hours
You summon a creature with the statistics of a scarecrow in an unoccupied space on the ground within range. The creature remains motionless until a creature comes within 30 feet of it, whereupon it attacks that creature. When there are no creatures within 30 feet of it, the scarecrow returns to its post and stops moving.
When you cast the spell, you can designate any number of creatures that the scarecrow will ignore and allow to pass through the area.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher and use 500 gp of rare magical components for the material components of the spell, the duration becomes permanent. Casting the spell in this way consumes the material components.
Summon Skeletal Archers
4th-level necromancy
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 90 feet
Components: V, S, M (six tiny sharpened bones)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Up to 6 undead rise from the earth to protect you, each with the statistics of a skeletal archer (statistics below). Their movement speed is 0 and their attacks are magical. The conjured creatures cannot use items or wield weapons other than the ones already on their person, as part of the magic of the spell.
Each creature appears along a 30-foot line you designate, 5 feet apart from one another. The creatures act simultaneously, immediately after each of your turns.
During each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to command the creatures to attack targets of your choice. If given no commands, the creatures take the Dodge action. The creatures cannot take actions other than those described.
At the start of each of your turns, any creatures forced out of formation are teleported back into their place in the line, and then the creatures move inward to close any gaps. Each creature crumbles to dust when reduced to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
Summon Spectator
5th-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 hour
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (four beholder eyestalks, usually worth 800 gp)
Duration: 24 hours
You summon a spectator from another dimension to guard a location or object you designate. It unrelentingly attacks any creatures that enter the location, or attempt to harm or steal the object. However, it will not attack you or any creatures you designate when you cast the spell.
The creature does not stray further than 60 feet from the object or place it is protecting. The spell ends early if the creature ends its turn more than 60 feet away from the location or object it is protecting.
When the spell ends, the creature disappears.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the duration becomes 101 years and the spell consumes its material components. The creature also remains in this dimension when the spell ends, but it is free to move about and act as it pleases. If an object the creature is protecting is destroyed or stolen, it disappears and the spell ends.
Summon Posse
2nd-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (a money pouch)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You summon 3 humanoids with statistics of bandits which appear in unoccupied spaces of your choice within range. Each bandit disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or the spell ends.
The summoned creatures are friendly to you and your companions. Roll initiative for the summoned creatures as a group, which has its own turns. Range: 90 feet
Components: V, S, M (a money pouch)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You conjure up to 6 magical humanoid creatures to protect you, each with the statistics and equipment of a humanoid creature of CR 1/8 or less. Their movement speed is 0, they are immune to the charmed and frightened conditions, and their attacks are magical. The conjured creatures cannot cast spells or use poison, and cannot use items or wield weapons other than the ones already on their person, as part of the magic of the spell.
Each creature appears along a 30-foot line you designate, 5 feet apart from one another. The creatures act simultaneously, immediately after each of your turns.
During each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to command the creatures to attack targets of your choice. Each creature can be directed to make Shove or Grapple attempts in place of their normal attacks. If given no commands, the creatures take the Dodge action. The creatures cannot take actions other than attacks or the Dodge action.
At the start of each of your turns, any creatures forced out of formation are teleported back into their place in the line, and then the creatures move inward to close any gaps. Each creature disappears when reduced to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the creatures you summon can be of a higher maximum challenge rating, as shown in the table below (with examples in parentheses)

This author is beloved for good reason. Their stories encompass chaotic hilarity for perfect emotional pick-me-ups. They collaborate a lot with other writers, but the below Top 5 Favorite stories are pure silentwalrus:
“If They Haven’t Learned Your Name” (M, 237k)
Steve gets out of the hospital in two days, but just barely. “I’m fine,” he tells Sam, Nurse Eunjung and the phalanx of doctors assigned to make sure Captain America didn’t bleed out and die and get bad PR all over their nice clean hospital. “I have an advanced healing factor. It’s fine. See? I’m standing.”
“That is not standing,” Sam tells him.
“You’re bending the IV stand,” Nurse Eunjung adds pointedly. “Let go and sit down, they don’t grow on trees.”
+ Post WS. The Big One in terms of fame and word count. Bucky discovers iPods and the alien spaceship USS Motherfucker
-☆-
“buachaill sciobail” (NR, 5k)
“Okay,” Sam says. “Okay. Alright. O-kay. I just, I gotta say, man, when you told me ‘Bucky is a selkie’ this is not... really…. what I... imagined.” “What did you imagine?” Steve says. Across his lap - or rather covering his entire body from the waist down - the eight hundred pound tube of blubber that is J.B. Barnes blows a snot bubble.
+ Post WS. Part 1 of the barnacle boy series. If you haven’t read this yet, you are really missing out on the best of silentwalrus.
-☆-
“undersell, overcommit” (NR, 3k)
Steve goes so hard for Bucky that he becomes a licensed, practicing massage therapist.
+ Post WS. Steve’s enthusiastic foray to learn Everything for the sake of Bucky’s comfort
-☆-
“ain’t really quaint” (M, 44k)
Natasha stops by on a Tuesday, early enough in the morning that it would have been late by Steve’s old standards. Now, though, it takes him nearly three minutes just to limp to the door, yawning, and when he opens it he has to lean heavily on the doorframe.
“Hi,” Natasha says, over the beginnings of birdsong. She’s not alone. “Can we come in?”
+ Shrunkyclunks. Part 1 of the Farm Hell series. Bucky is sent to recover at Steve’s farm. Absolutely hysterical
-☆-
“sneeze disease” (M, 2k)
Bucky starts to believe in a vengeful god on May the twelfth, year of our Lord two thousand and fucking eighteen, because that’s the day he makes fun of Clint Barton for carrying around a dainty little packetful of tissues in his pocket and honking into them like a congested donkey every fifteen minutes. “Fucking polleb,” Clint swears, wiping at his watering eyes. “Fucking claritin. Fucking zyrtec. Fucking bastards, all of dem.”
“What’s happened to your pokeymen now?” Bucky asks distractedly, not looking away from where Natasha is very slowly setting the last Joker on her vast, exquisitely balanced house of cards.
“Dat’s not - dey’re not pokémon,” Clint says, aggrieved. “Dey’re drugs. And dey don’t work for me.”
+ Post WS. Bucky develops an allergy to Steve’s semen and refuses to accept it

[ oneshot ] i’m listening —
fandom: mass effect. ship: shepard (delilah) × hackett. warnings: a medium amount of sauciness. words: 2,184.
“Huh.”
There was something different about Delilah Shepard's quarters. One single detail stuck out like a sore thumb after months aboard the Normandy SR-2 with nothing but her organized mess to keep her company after lights out. Sitting between a datapad, her M-5 Phalanx pistol, and a carefully sealed bag of jerky was the imposter.
Unfolding her arms and taking the two steps down into her bedroom, she settled down onto the still-stiff couch cushions and turned the ice bucket towards her.
It was minimalist in design, with a matte finish and no handles, full to the brim with chunks of ice she recognized from the mess. And resting upon that familiar ice was a bottle of wine—an old one, from the look of the printed label.
Delilah chuckled, imagining the look she might find on Steven's face if he caught her calling a bottle of fine wine old rather than aged.
Sinking back against the rarely used couch, she shut her eyes and let the warmth of recognition swim over her skin. No one wanted to celebrate a birthday on their way towards a potentially deadly mission, stuck out in the vacuum of space, too far away from loved ones to even consider dropping by for lunch, even with the Mass Relays at their disposal.
But she'd woken up that morning to a voice call from her mother, who was also out on a mission and unable to send anything apart from her slightly frigid love.
Kelly Chambers surprised her with a new model ship set that looked exactly like the Destiny Ascension on the box. Mess Sargent Gardner did his mess sergeant thing and presented her with a slightly dilapidated cake made with the best ingredients he could muster between ports.
There were other gifts, too. Most of them were practical—a pair of leather gloves from Thane, a voucher for a “free omnitool upgrade” from Tali, a visor from Miranda to replace the one she'd lost during their escape from the Collector vessel.
Some gifts were silly.
Joker gifted her with a haphazardly wrapped sweater, simple and black and relatively smart-looking until you reached the Blasto buttons at the wrists. Garrus and Jacob, surprisingly enough, gave her the same gift—a promise to get a drink with her on the Citadel or Omega, wherever they ended up docking first.
“May I do anything for you Shepard?” EDI's voice was warm in a way you never expected it to sound warm. “I would like to give you something... as a gift.”
Delilah couldn't help but smile to herself, eyes still closed, her bare feet kicked up casually on the edge of the coffee table.
“There's something,” she said, her whisper sounding like a sigh. She didn't even know if it was possible. Her timing could be off. He could be asleep or busy or otherwise occupied. But there was a small chance, and it was her birthday... so maybe the universe would give her a break. “Can you get Hackett on the line?”
The flickering globe of EDI's projected self shifted from solid blue to blue with a tremor of orange running upwards through her middle. It took a minute to make a connection, which she expected. She didn't know how far apart they were. Must have been far.
But the connection was made.
And a familiar voice came in over the line, low and rough from sleep. “Happy birthday, sweetheart.”
Delilah felt a pang in her chest, sharp and unforgiving and perfect. Her cheeks ached as a too-wide smile spread across her mouth. She could picture him perfectly, sprawled out in bed, his face aglow with the orange of his omnitool, wearing the slow, sleepy grin he always wore when she woke him up.
“Thank you for the gift,” she said in the place of a 'thank you.' Leaning forward, she turned the ice bucket around to face her head on. “Can't wait to give it a try.”
“Mm... you haven't cracked into it, then?”
Her smile softened. “Not yet.”
Quiet settled over Shepard's living quarters, save for the hum of the fish tank and the slightly louder hum of the ship. Hackett sighed and shifted, cleared his throat, took another moment before asking, “Is there a reason you initiated a voice call rather than a video conference?” His chuckle melted something inside of her. “I know it isn't exactly a gift, but... I don't remember you ever taking umbrage with having to look at me.”
Delilah's laugh began with a snort. “I don't have to see you to know exactly what you look like right now.”
“Oh?” Hackett sounded like someone weighing a threat. Or a challenge. It was typical of him. So much of their call was typical of him, and that familiarity was a gift in and of itself. “Well, consider me curious. What do I look like right now?”
Shepard made a thoughtful noise as she pushed herself to her feet. “Well, for starters, you're horizontal.”
“Mhm.”
She moved over to her locker, crossing the cold floor in her chilly bedroom and feeling none of it. As she spoke, she removed the crisp layers of her uniform. “You're not wearing a shirt, and you haven't showered yet, so that cute cowlick on the left side of your head is in full effect.” She folded each item as she stripped down to her underwear, placing them in their predetermined spots. “You probably have crust in your eyes, too.”
Hackett paused. For a while.
Delilah felt the rush of imminent victory.
“You know me too well,” he sighed, voice muffled as he scrubbed a hand over his face. “It's impressive.”
“Sleep with a man for almost ten years, and you'll figure him out.” Delilah moved around the foot of her bed, stripped of every stitch that wasn't comfortable black cotton, and snatched the bottle of wine up out of the bucket by its long, elegant throat. “Imagine that.”
Saying ten years like that felt wrong. They'd been apart for most of their near-decade together, sleeping on opposite sides of the galaxy rather than opposite sides of the same bed. Calls were short, but close calls were plentiful and always frightening. And then, she died. He mourned her, encouraged others to rally behind her name, and fought as hard as he could to salvage what was left.
And now they were on a call together, celebrating her birthday.
It felt ridiculous to call it luck, but he always made her feel lucky.
“What time is it there?” Hackett asked her. She could hear him squinting rather than putting on his glasses. Accepting blurry eyed defeat wasn't an option. “God, it's three.”
Delilah glanced upwards at the thick panel of glass above her bed. Rather than finding painted skies, she saw only the blink of faraway stars and the diaphanous blue glow of FTL travel. “I am currently anywhere between three in the morning and... two fifty-eight AM.”
Again, Hackett laughed, and again, she felt her heart thump painfully hard in her chest.
“I miss you.”
His laugh quieted, and Delilah was left with the sound of a smiling sigh. She could damn near hear his crow's feet when he spoke, whispering a throaty echo of, “I miss you,” into the ambient hum of her quarters.
Climbing up from the foot of her bed to turn around against the stack of pillows at the head, Delilah let the warmth of his voice sink into her, let herself relax with the chilled wine bottle still in her hand. Her omnitool didn't have a corkscrew exactly, but that didn't mean she couldn't get something to work.
“We should take a weekend sometime soon to celebrate my birthday” The cork popped, and Shepard sucked in a deep breath as the scent of the wine poured out from around it. She licked over her bottom lip. “In earnest.”
“In earnest,” Hackett repeated with great emphasis. He sounded much more awake than he had in the beginning, but there was still an element of sleepy boyishness in his tone. “I understand the implication.”
Delilah chuckled. “Do you?”
“It's why I sent the wine.”
Pressing the mouth of the bottle to her lips, Delilah tipped it back with both hands and took a mouthful. She savored it as much as she could without a glass, sucking on her bottom lip to get that last drop of flavor. Hackett was being vague. She liked vague Hackett; he was playful. And honest.
“Explain...”
“Shepard,” he murmured, his voice quietly stern and almost chiding in a way that sent fireworks all over her skin.
Delilah took another sip of wine. “It's my birthday. You're obligated to tell me.”
“I've only seen you wine drunk once or twice before,” Hackett relented. As she listened to him, she squirmed down into the mattress, finding a comfortable divot to stretch out. “Whiskey drunk, often. Tequila drunk, once. I remember very clearly how it effected you.”
“Mm?”
He hated having words dragged out of him on a hook, but she knew he had a weakness for being challenged. She knew how weak it made him to have her push and tease and prod. He liked her bratty, just as much as he liked being strict with her. Their push and pull was comfortable. It was how they loved.
“You melt,” Hackett said, continuing on in the same whisper he'd begun in. “Your cheeks flush, and you slur your words, and you get... clingy. I wanted you to enjoy the night of your birthday as you would have with me.”
“So, the wine's for you?” Delilah smirked, even though he couldn't see her face. She hoped he heard it in her voice when she asked him, “You want me all red-faced and horny?”
“Yes.”
The word shook near the end, but not from uncertainty. Delilah's knees pinched together as the warmth spread swiftly downward from her heart to between her legs. How he managed that so easily, she'd never know. She hadn't learned a single one of his tricks in seven years.
“I figured as much.” She stared up at the square of stars above her bed. The blankets were soft, but cool where they didn't touch her skin. Being alone with the sound of her husband's voice in her ears was torture. She wanted him there, sleepy-voiced and next to her with smooth and eager hands. “If it was just a gift for me, it'd be a freshly imported bottle of Pikesville.”
Hackett made a quiet, thoughtful noise that coaxed Delilah into shifting her hips, squirming deeper into the tower of pillows at her back.
“It was... selfish of me, I know,” he mused. “But you're enjoying yourself. I can hear it.”
Delilah bit down on the soft interior of her cheek.
“What else do you want to hear?” she asked, forcing herself to sound cordial. Cherry, even, more receptionist than unrepentant vixen. “I live to accommodate you, Admiral.”
“Shit.”
She tried—and failed—to bite back a giggle, but it was entirely his fault, in the end. He was weak for her, and she knew the buttons to press.
“Drink your wine,” Hackett said, the rough edge of his voice returning with a vengeance. There was ground to recover, time to make up, teasing to make her regret. She loved hearing him double down. It was thrilling. “And stay on the call with me. I have two hours before I'm expected.”
Delilah's toes curled into the bedding beneath her feet. “Two hours? I wonder...”
“What do you wonder?”
Fire spilled down her spine, loosening every muscle on the way down. She took another long sip of her gift and let what little tension remained in her body to lift.
“I wonder how long you can keep me going,” she purred, smiling, her flush already creeping down her throat. “I could squeeze so much into...” Delilah paused. She heard Hackett's breath hitch. “... two hours.”
“There we go.”
He was all around her. The sound of his voice brought along with it the gentle weight of his presence, a warm hand sliding up her bare thigh, the whisper of scruff on the delicate skin of her shoulder. Her chest rose and fell with an unsteady breath of her own. She felt his lips on the shell of her ear, the press of his hips against her stomach. His nails, sliding down the soft curve of her waist.
“We may be regrettably far apart,” Hackett murmured, and he carried with him the same husky tone as he had since she mentioned the wine, “but that doesn't mean I can't give you another birthday gift.”
Setting the bottle of wine on her bedside table, Delilah hooked her thumbs on the waist of her panties. They hit the floor beside her locker with a single, pointed toss.
She grinned.
This was the most relaxed she'd been in months.
“I'm listening...”

Mass Effect Tag Meme
Tagged by @horsyunicorn
I am a fan since: 2011ish. It was after I played Dragon Age and Dragon Age 2 and before Mass Effect 3 came out.
Favourite game of the series: I have a soft spot for ME1. It’s so broken
Mshep or Fshep?: You can play as a man?
Earthborn, Colonist, or Spacer?: Earthborn!
Biotics or Tech?: Biotics all the way. I first played as a vangaurd, got half way through and restarted as an adept. Haven’t looked back since.
Paragon or Renegade?: Mostly paragon.
Favourite class: Adept.
Favourite companion: Liara and Katsumi
Least favourite companion: Jacob, probably. He’s... really badly written.
My squad selection:
ME1: Liara and Garrus or Liara and Wrex,
ME2: Garrus and Jack
ME3: Liara and Garrus
Favourite in-game romance: Liara
Favourite NPC: The guy who says ‘Sir Issac Newton is the deadliest son-of-a-bitch in space’ OR the turian janitor OR the krogan who wants to eat the fish in the citadel ponds OR that person who Shepard can say ‘I’m dancing here, you can pretend you’re dancing with me’ to in Samara’s loyality mission but if you fail the Paragon check she looks disgusted and walks away OR that one Turian who gets really into the dancing in Thane’s loyality mission.
Favourite Antagonist: The Mass Effect writers.
Favourite loyalty mission: Is it cheating to say ‘Lair of the Shadow Broker’. Probably Samara’s otherwise.
Favourite mission: Uhhh, Lair of the Shadow Broker. Honestly, it’s been so long since I played any ME I can’t remember.
Favourite DLC: FINALLY I get to say Lair of the Shadow Broker.
Control, Synthesis or Destroy: Destory if I’m going with the ingame choice, MEHEM otherwise.
Favourite weapon: I do enjoy the Scorpian and M-5 Phalanx. And the M-6 Carnifex, of course. It was given as a sign of friendship. But mostly I just use a slam/warp combo.
Favourite place: Ontarom. 1) I think it’s pretty. 2) Shifty Looking Cow
Favourite Quote: Pretty much everything the Biotic God says.
Not tagging anyone. If you want to do this feel free.

LEGO won't make modern war machines, but others are picking up the pieces This is a story about a multibillion-dollar international conglomerate, arms manufacturers, a German peace group and renegades who make miniaturized weapons systems out of small shops. Not that those tiny weapons could actually hurt anyone. Well, not unless you stepped on one.The conglomerate is LEGO, with worldwide revenues of $6.2 billion in 2019 from its toys, retail stores, theme parks and even movie rights. Its toy sets -- which are intended to "inspire the builders of tomorrow," according to the company's mission statement -- run the gamut, from skyscrapers to boats, police stations to castles. There's even a kit to make Rome's famous Colosseum. Nothing from the real world, it seems, is off limits. That is, except for anything modeled on today's military. "We have a long-standing policy of not creating sets which feature real military vehicles that are currently in use," Ryan Greenwood, a spokesman for the company, said in an email to CNN.But during the summer, the Danish company released a set for the V-22 Osprey, a tiltrotor aircraft manufactured by Boeing and Bell Helicopter Textron that is only used by the American and Japanese militaries.LEGO pulled its V-22 Osprey amid protests from a German anti-war group. Credit: LEGOThe kit, set to launch under LEGO's vehicle-focused Technic brand, depicted a search and rescue version of the Osprey. But it drew a quick, harsh protest from the German Peace Society -- United War Resisters (DFG-VK in German), an almost 130-year-old anti-war group. The V-22 Osprey, the group said, has been involved in conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali, Yemen and Syria. In a press release criticizing LEGO over the model, the DFG-VK then threw the toymaker's own words from a decade earlier right back at it:"The basic aim is to avoid realistic weapons and military equipment that children may recognize from hot spots around the world and to refrain from showing violent or frightening situations when communicating about LEGO products. At the same time, the purpose is for the LEGO brand not to be associated with issues that glorify conflicts and unethical or harmful behavior," the peace group quoted from a 2010 LEGO report.LEGO quickly pulled the motorized aircraft model from its inventory in late July. The few sets that had already hit store shelves made their way into the hands LEGO enthusiasts and onto internet trading sites at prices as high as $1,000 for a set that would've retailed at around $120.US Air Force V-22 Ospreys take off from a base in New Mexico. Credit: U.S. Air Force/Staff Sgt. Markus MaierThe V-22 Osprey LEGO set. Credit: LEGOGreenwood, the company spokesperson, refused to comment further on why LEGO changed its mind on the Osprey model or why it was produced in the first place. But LEGO canceling its Osprey set hasn't stopped fans from creating their own versions. In a video interview from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dan Siskind pulled up a large model of the aircraft to the camera. Although built from LEGO pieces, this one is bigger and, arguably, even more elaborate and life-like. He spun its tiltrotor propellers in a hand-held simulated flight.Siskind is a former "master builder," the top LEGO designers who assemble the models you find displayed in stores. He is now part of a subculture that unites adult fans of LEGO (or AFOLs as they are known) and military buffs. Through his company, Brickmania Toyworks, the 51-year-old takes the iconic bricks and turns them into custom military building kits spanning eras and multiple wars. An arms bazaar for AFOLs, his inventory includes a US F-16 fighter ($425), a Russian T-80BVM main battle tank ($340) and even a Phalanx close-in weapon system, the rapid-fire Gatling gun the US Navy puts on its warships to knock out incoming threats like missiles or speedboats ($175).There are also historical options, such as a Vietnam War-era Soviet MiG-21 fighter, a World War II Japanese A6M2 Zero or British Spitfire Mk I fighter plane, a US M4A3 Sherman or German Panzer IV Ausf G tank, or a World War I British biplane, all priced around $200.For those with lower budgets, micro military vehicle sets are sold for around $20.The parts are almost all genuine, made with new-condition LEGO bricks. But while the Danish company does not endorse its products being used for these purposes, it tolerates the practice, Siskind said."They've given us some guidelines -- here's how to stay out of trouble."He's nonetheless blunt in describing his job. "It's just stuff we've taken that weren't supposed to be made into military things, (that) we've made into military things," Siskind explained. "Ordinary LEGO bricks just used in a way they were never intended to be used." Because he isn't allowed to purchase bricks directly from LEGO for his military sets, sourcing is "one big, continuous scavenger hunt" that requires his staff to comb through Walmarts, Targets and toy stores for discounts on original sets. The company also uses the website Bricklink, a kind of eBay for LEGO parts, where specific bricks can be bought and sold. The AC-130 Spooky II gunship model, made using LEGO bricks and other aftermarket parts, from Brickmania Toyworks in Minneapolis. Credit: Courtesy Brickmania ToyworksAll the parts are brought to Brickmania's Minneapolis headquarters, where they are broken down and reallocated to the new kits, including its most expensive design: a Lockheed Martin AC-130 "Spooky II" gunship that contains more than 5,200 pieces and sells for $3,755.In real life, an AC-130 gunship is one of the most terrifying aircraft imaginable. Armed with 40mm and 105mm cannons and a 25mm Gatling gun, it can devastate an area in seconds, earning it the nickname the "Angel of Death" in military circles. When the company made the first 25 models available, they sold out in five hours. A second batch then went in the same amount of time, Siskind said. "We have more demand than we can keep up with."While Siskind will sell you a military kit, his company also encourages AFOLs to produce their own creations, sponsoring regular contests at Brickmania's flagship store in Minneapolis. Among the rules: They must be military or war-themed, bear no Nazi symbols, display no excessive gore and are not of the sci-fi or fantasy genres. Global communityPeople entering the competitions should probably be thankful that Ralph Savelsberg lives thousands of miles away in the Netherlands -- because the 45-year-old Dutch builder's portfolio of LEGO-based military creations would likely be easy winners. There's a Vietnam-era US Navy patrol boat, a Cold War-era intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), an Iranian F-14 fighter, an M-21 reconnaissance jet and a massive and stunning recreation of a B-52 bomber, the mainstay of the US Air Force's bomber fleet for more than six decades.Dutch LEGO builder Ralph Savelsberg shows off a model he made of a US Air Force B-52 bomber with a 5-foot wingspan. Credit: Courtesy Ralph SavelsbergSavelsberg, a physicist and assistant professor, said he builds LEGO for love, not money."This is just a hobby. I do get a lot of requests, but I always disappoint them; I have no interest whatsoever in having to deal with customers."Furthermore, making plans or instructions is no fun, so I don't actually have any plans for most of my models," he said in an email. What he does enjoy is getting together with LEGO military builders from around the world at various conventions, where they share creations and even make custom ones to commemorate anniversaries. For this year's Brickfair Virginia, Savelsberg and a few dozen military builders planned a display themed on the Cold War, including his ICBM. The event was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but Savelsberg plans to return next year.LEGO-style military models on display at Brickfest Japan 2019 in Kobe. Credit: Courtesy The Brothers Brick / Edwinder SinghIn 2019, he attended Japan Brickfest, Asia's largest AFOL gathering, which featured a section for military items by some of the 270 builders displaying their work. Those builders, who came from places like Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan as well as Japan, likely represent just a fraction of those pursuing the hobby, Savelsberg said."I suspect that the people who come to events represent the tip of the iceberg. For every builder who is willing and able to travel to events, there might be two dozen teenagers who rarely get out of their bedrooms and share their builds with a group of friends via social media," he said. Justin Chua, who runs LEGO aftermarket store Lioncity Mocs in Singapore, says this 1:100-scale model of a Singaporean littoral mission ship took him more than two months to plan, source parts and assemble. It has more than 2,000 pieces. Credit: Courtesy Justin ChuaA company for kidsIn a way, Savelsberg, Siskind and the other builders of LEGO-based military models are doing what LEGO has always encouraged -- "only the imagination sets the limit to what you can build," the company's profile says."There's nothing that stops me from using dark green elements I get from, say, a LEGO Mini Cooper for a US Navy patrol boat," like this one from the Vietnam era, Dutch builder Ralph Savelsberg said. Credit: Courtesy Ralph SavelsbergLEGO traces its roots back to Denmark in the 1930s, when carpenter Ole Kirk Kristiansen abbreviated the Danish words "Leg Godt," meaning "play well" in English, to brand the wooden toys he was producing. It turned to plastic bricks in 1949.In 1955, Kristiansen's son Godtfred launched LEGO bricks as a system, embracing the idea that the more you have, the more things you can make. "Our idea has been to create a toy that prepares the child for life -- appealing to its imagination and developing the creative urge and joy of creation that are the driving forces in every human being," he said.Over the years, wheels and human figures were introduced in 1962 and 1978 respectively. And in 1989, miniature human figures sporting more facial expressions than the usual slight smile also emerged.LEGO has also been determined to put smiles on the faces of children."As a family-owned company with a long-term mission, the LEGO Group is uniquely placed to deliver a positive impact on children, society and the planet," the company profile says. The 25-page company document mentions the words "child" or "children" nearly 100 times. Still, as LEGO grew over the years, so did the presence of weapons.A 2016 report analyzing the company's products, published on the peer-reviewed scientific investigation journal PLOS One, argues that LEGO sets "are not as innocent as they used to be" and have become increasingly violent over time. Since 1978, when the first weapon bricks -- a sword, a halberd and a lance -- were added to castle-themed LEGO sets, there the amount of weaponry has increased each year, according to the study. It found that by 2014, nearly 30% of sets contained at least one weapon brick.A LEGO James Bond Aston Martin set on the shelf of a Hong Kong store. Credit: Brad Lendon/CNNSome of this increase can be attributed to movie-themed sets. For example, the company's summer 2020 catalog features a model of the Aston Martin, the famous car driven by British spy James Bond. It comes complete with "a wealth of sophisticated details and 007 gadgetry, including rotating license plates, ejector seat, tire scythes and front-wing machine guns."There's also "Star Wars" X-wing fighters and Imperial star destroyers, and sets depicting "Minecraft" battles, with axes, bludgeons and cases of TNT.When it comes to the LEGO's ethical red lines, Siskind sees a disconnect in the company's logic. Is there really a difference between the Death Star or the violence of a galaxy far, far away and the machines that kill people here on Earth?"There's very direct historical connections between the 'Star Wars' world and World War II," he added. Following LEGO's rulesFrom his office in Atlanta, Andrew Roberts, co-owner of Battle Brick Customs, another aftermarket retailer, expresses what he sees as the LEGO dilemma."LEGO has always kind of struggled with filling boys' desires for action and adventure (while) staying true to themselves (by) not doing realistic military things," he said. For a long time, the company even went so far as to avoid gray-colored bricks (the obvious color choice for building military weapons and vehicles), Roberts claimed, saying early castle sets were made from yellow ones. (Siskind, too, recalled some rather colorful medieval builds, saying: "When I was a kid all my castles were red because I had the most of that color.") LEGO's avoidance of modern military themes provided an opening, Roberts added. He turned his college pastime -- messing with his old LEGO sets -- into a full-time job, churning out best-sellers like World War II M4 Sherman tanks and modern Gulf War M1 Abrahms tanks."I don't think they like what I do but at the same time ... They tolerate me because I obey the rules." A US Special Forces team in LEGO-style figures from Battle Brick Customs. Credit: Courtesy Battle Brick CustomsFor instance, Roberts buys minifigures from LEGO, strips them of their paint and markings, and turns them into soldiers, sailors and airmen to stand watch in the military-themed sets he sells. He likens it to how a custom car shop takes a showroom model and turns it into a street racer."If you're a shop selling custom Ford Mustangs, you can do that -- people have to know that this is a Ford Mustang, but it's not an official Ford product," Roberts said. "I took a Ford and I did a bunch of stuff to it."In the case of LEGO parts, he added, "It's a genuine LEGO minifigure that has had a bunch of aftermarket stuff done to it. I bought it, and it's mine. And I'm customizing it, and I'm not pretending they did it."A figure stylized as a US soldier from Battle Brick Customs. Credit: Courtesy Battle Brick CustomsFor much of the fanatic LEGO-building community, the "it's mine" mentality -- a personal stake in what they make -- is what's fun and what fills them with pride. And they're not going to let the company's ethos get in the way of their creations. After the company pulled the Osprey in the summer, The Brothers Brick, an independent, reader-funded website for LEGO enthusiasts, carried several posts about the set's demise. One showed a futuristic olive green vision of an Osprey with orange highlights, created by builder Simon Liu, using LEGO bricks.Brothers Brick contributor, Lino -- a Washington state-based artist and humorist, according to his biography -- drew inspiration from Liu's creation."The point of showing you this is, while LEGO occasionally makes doofus decisions, they provide the pieces so that you can build anything you want. Who needs directions and an official set?" Lino wrote."With LEGO bricks and a bit of imagination, the world is your oyster. Or Osprey."Top image caption: A figurine from Battle Brick Customs of a US soldier emerging from an armored personnel carrier. #lifestyle Read full article: https://expatimes.com/?p=15448&feed_id=22672

Mass Effect asks, 1, 34, 47, 59!
How did you get into Mass Effect?
I don’t remember. At all. I'm like Dory from Finding Nemo... But I think it was when I was working in a video game store, a lot of people were talking about the trilogy at the time, but I didn't play them until much later. Then I started looking for fanarts, fanfics... and I said "I have to play this". And here I am.
Favorite weapon overall?
M-98 Widow/Black Widow, I think it's because I always play as Infiltrator, it's my headcanon for Shepard, but I really like the M-5 Phalanx.
Something you do in EVERY playthrough, no matter what?
Hm, decisions, decisions... I think I've never been able to play as a full Renegade, and I always choose the same romance for MShep and FemShep. But as for game decisions, I always save the Rachni queen, or both Geth and Quarians, or I never accept Dalatrass deal. Ugh nope.
Favorite NPC?
From the Normandy? Kaidan, of course! Ok, ok... I always like to bump into Conrad Verner, and I love Ann Bryson. From MEA, I really like Avitus. I can't choose just one!

Samara face appreciation time
Looked how miffed she is if you dont read this from start to finish XD
Anyway.. Because Samara is forever in my heart and we all know she’s the love of my life
She’s not totally in the minority bec she’s the milf bamf of the asari world but there’s still a lot to admire.
Most of the times fanfics take in her justicar persona and go with it. For all intents and purposes that’s what Mass Effect does too. Until you decide to invest a fuck ton of love into her.
One of my favorite ever look she gives Shepard - so out of the normal, so obviously different would be in Detective Anaya’s office where you pick her up to recruit her and not leave her for more than a day or all hell breaks loose and she kills the detective and other innocents.
It’s blurry af bec i’m just getting google images (aka type “Samara mass effect” cause typing Samara brings out the horror one which was a MISTAKE i made one night in total darkness T__T)
LOOK AT THA T FACE! Isn’t it the most precious look you’ve ever seen?? Like you think she doesn’t react - but then she goes“WHY SHEPARD YOU IMPRESS MEEEE???”
TOTAL IMPRESS YES THATS ME COMMANDER SHEPARD AT YOUR SERVICE M’LADY.
MY SHEPARD WAS LIKE “HOW MANY THINGS CAN I DO TO IMPRESS THIS GODDESS? LET ME JUST GO AND JUGGLE A KROGANS QUADS OR SOMETHING”
That face is the most precious thing ever. PROTEC THE EMPTY VESSEL OF SORROW AND REGRET AND BIOWARE LET ME HAVE “I THINK I COULD FIND HAPPINESS WITH YOU” FOR REAL PLZ.
NO?
NO? I CANT?
NO? WE JUST NO? OKAY NO THEN
HOW DARE U GIVE ME THIS FACE THAT I CANT MAKE SMILE AGAIN
SHE LOOKS SO PLEASED AND SO SLY AND THATS A SMILE U RESERVE FOR GOOD FRIENDS and flirt mates ok. look at that lift of the lip GJUST GODDESS PRESERVE ME IN STRAWBERRY JAM
BUT THEN OFC WE END ME2 IN THE SADDEST ANOTHER TIME ANOTHER LIFE SO OK FINE BACK TO :(
:( BUT IN A DIFFERENT COLOR AHAHAHUHUHU
SO that’s the end. That’s the total end of it. Shep just goes in and breaks both their hearts by trying and Samara breaks both our hearts by sheer “I HAVE THE STRENGTH TO WITHSTAND MY DESIRES” SO LET ME JUST TOUCH YO CHEEK AND WHISPER THE SADDEST MOTHERFUCKING WORDS EVER IN YOUR OBVIOUS HUMAN EARS.
THEN LET ME EXCUSE MYSELF AND STARE AT THE NORMANDY’S CORE. YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE PULSES THAT STRONGLY WHILE UNMOVING? YOU SAMARA. YOU’RE STARING AT YOU. IN ME3 EDI BECAME A ROBOT. ARE YOU GOING TO MOVE UP????
NO BABE DNDOD NOOOOO I DIDNT MEAN LIKE THAT UP NO HEAVEN NO NO NO NONO NOOOOOOOOO
NOW look at those eyes everyone. YOU THINK ITS STOIC AND SERENE? NOT ON UR LIFE. YOU KNOW HOW MORDIN LOOKS SERENE BUT THEN SINGS LIKE HE’S TRYING TO CALM HIS NERVES OR WHATEVER? THEN LOOK AT THOSE EYES AND SEE THE EVER LASTING FUCKING SORROW AND SHIT THAT THIS WOMAN HAD TO ENDURE THE FUCK AND WHATR THE FUCK THAT THIS IS GONNA BE HOW IT HAD TO END??? LIKE MOTHER FUUUUUUU NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
From the wiki/: The M-5 Phalanx is the product of the Alliance's Offensive Handgun Project, a close-in weapon to be used with no loss of stopping power in comparison with a soldier's assault rifle.
YOU KNOW WHO ELSE IS ALLIANCE? S-H-E-P-A-R-D. I mean sure but still. SHEPARD. SHEEEPPAAAAAARD (insert wrex/grunt ok)
So if you’re one of those WHO MISSED ONE OF THE QUICKEST AS FUCK INTERRUPT THEN FUUUUUUU HUHUHUHUHU If you deliberately did so. then F U. (I kid but not really)
(those wrists bones be breaking)
Okay. back on topic. ME3 Samara is so beautiful. Sure nothing beats ME2 glowy asari dropping down like angel of vengeance on eclipse mercs and breaking their necks with her heel (yes pls me too) but then ME3 steps the fuck up on the quality (hello too ashley and her bigger lips, hair and .... personality development ehehehe)
Everything is just so... beautiful-- her skin, her texture AND IS IT REALLY LESSUS’ MOONS OR ARE SAMARA’S EYES JUST EXTRA SHINY THERE??? (Yes i mean the eyes....)
Sure it’s just dark but then that makes it all the more captivating.
Those eyes be popping. Time doing glowy biotic meditation and staring at stars really reflected in your eyes babe... i mean Samara.
<3
Look at that face. It’s perfect. Wistful. Wishful. Everything is just...
thank the everlasting goddess for Citadel DLC.
aND THANK u to whoever though we needed an Asari Justicar in our lives. <3 THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS AND A ROMANCE POSSIBLE.
SO YEAH CHECK ALL THE PICS AGAIN OK. Because each of them looks speaks to me YES ME Shepard in so many different levels.
<3 I love you Space Queen.
#samara#justicar samara#mass effect#asari#bioware#samara love of my life#samara appreciation time#goddess thank u for this beautiful beautiful being.

NLP is proud to present the first single from Something Vague, the dance rock project led by NLP founder, Andy Darker.
Please see the press release below:
San Bernardino, CA— June 9, 2020 — The multi-modal entertainment organization, Neon Lust Productions, announced they are releasing the first single in eleven years from dance-rock band Something Vague. Led by NLP founder Andy Lara, the band played a reunion show with an updated lineup at Club 5 in their hometown of Indio, CA, on October 20, 2019. “A Solid Phalanx of Opposition” is the band’s first release since the EP Static in C Minor in 2009.
The band self-released three E.P.’s (2007’s Danceaholics Anonymous, 2008’s Poptimism, and 2009’s Static in C Minor), and inspired several offshoot projects, including Town Troubles, Dandroid, White Buffalo, Sailor on Shore, Graveyard School, and Greasextrap, before playing their farewell show at JD’s Landing in Palm Springs in August 2009.
“Something Vague is an important dance rock band and I’m so excited for people to hear this song that is relevant to our current moment. I’m thrilled to have contributed and to have it serve as company’s mission statement,” said Neon Lust Productions A&R Coordinator and Something Vague keyboardist Vanessa Godoy.
The song is the first release from the band’s upcoming LP, Fantasy Pieces, set for release in 2021.
“Phalanx” is streaming at Bandcamp: www.somethingvague760.bandcamp.com
100% of proceeds from the song will benefit Black Lives Matter.
