Oksanna hasn't been feeling like herself lately. Aside from working a lot at the bookstore, Santi being just as busy as she was, and her father apparently coming over to visit soon, she could swear she has seen her abusive ex in the city the other day. Then outside of the window of her bookstore. But she has convinced herself that it was just all her wild imagination, all of the stress, just feeling tired overall, and her mind wasn't allowing her just to be happy, she thought.

But tonight she went out with a couple of her girl friends to the club, since Santi was working late, and there he was again. This time she really would start to panic and feel restless, so she ditched the party and headed over to his place, since she had the keys. And usually, if not always, Oksanna would fall asleep and wake up briefly once she'd feel the familiar feeling of warmth next to her when he'd come back from work. But there was no sleep for her tonight. She had changed into one of his shirts and was sitting in the living room, flipping through one of the many books she has left around his apartment.

It wasn't until he finally came back at the godly forsaken hour did she snap back into reality. "Hey... Hopefully you don't mind me coming here in the middle of the night... was work easy on you tonight?"she asked with a soft sigh and a slightly forced smirk.

Oksanna was doing great. More than great, actually. She finally felt happy and peaceful. Work was blossoming, she spent a lot of quality time with her mother, friends, was in an amazing relationship with a guy of her dreams, or any girls dreams to be honest. And then he had to show up out of no where to ruin it all. Her father made an uninvited visit to the US, and came straight to her mother, and then reached out to her. Ever since the divorce and finding out the truth about his whole other life and another family he had back in Russia, Oksanna fell deep into depression, developed serious trust issues and her trouble with men started ever since. Her dad always tried to fix their relationship, as he’d say ‘i’m your dad still’ and she hated that, hated him and everything he did to her mother as well as herself. 

He made her feel so anxious and sad that Oksanna found herself taking a walk to try and distract herself. Only that she was so lost in her thoughts and cried so much because of anger that overtook her, that she found herself in the middle of a neighborhood she didn’t recognize, it was quite late, and no uber was near. So in desperation she dialed Santi’s number, the tone of her voice already indicating something was off. She shared her location with him and waited on an abandoned bus station, sitting all sulked while waiting for him to show up.

Oksanna liked to party, that was a given, but she hasn’t been on this kind of party so far - as Santiago asked her to be his plus one to a event organized by the police department she had a moment of questioning herself, it it would be a smart idea to be seen with him in front of all of his colleagues, since the blonde wasn’t sure where they stood, or what they were even. But how could she say no to such a handsome face and the already familiar gaze in his eyes he gave her. She wore a nice dark green dress, nothing too provocative since it wasn’t her usual setting, but she was actually enjoying herself as they mingled with the people and she got to hear different cop stories here and there. As they talked to this certain couple who’s story was making Oksanna nearly fall asleep, she was so damn glad when Santiago dragged her to a dance floor, wrapping his strong arm around her and keeping her close as they slow danced to the ballad. Upon his question if she was bored, blonde looked up at him and shook head sideways. “Of course not. It’s not about where I am, but who i’m with. And i’m having lots of fun with you.”she murmured, giving his lips a quick peck. “And I really, really love this song... so sway me around, handsome, as I cry you a river.”she joked, chuckling as she leaned in more into him. @moonlightdance

"Mhm, that sounds like a plan."Oksanna murmured, she didn't want to be alone, either, and she's been to his station before, knew the people there, and would for sure feel safe enough. Her body grew more relaxed and it felt like she was sinking into the mattress while he gently caressed her blonde locks. She let out a soft hum and felt herself falling asleep, his voice distant. And before she knew it, she was sound and safe asleep in the arms of her man. @spellbindingnights

Santiago huffed, he wished he could sleep in too, but he had work to do, he needed to figure out this case for good. "Yes, if not, you can come with me to the Station, and Alma can pick you up from there" he offered. "I don't want you being alone" he said softly as his fingers kept on brushing her blonde locks. "That's the idea" he smiled lazily. "It's been a long day, let's sleep, babe..." he said softly. @utterxdesires

“Would be a really ineffective warning, because I really don’t feel the urge to runaway from you and your crazy.” He admitted, it was quite the opposites honestly. Vincent nodded in silence, he understood that this might be a heavy and sensitive topic to her. He was the last one to force an answer or explanation from her, letting it fade off for her sake. Nonetheless, he certainly would love to have that date with her with some wine and just talking all night long, he could see that with Oksanna, since she intrigued him ever since they met. “Don’t understand me wrong, it is still very stressful and a handful of work, but yes… we can live with or without it.” He chuckled lightly, a hint of pink on his cheeks. Vincent still didn’t found it easy to talk about himself and his background, not because there was a lot that should be kept secret from her, but also being in focus. It caused him to become anxious and nervous sometimes in a private matter, although around her it felt easier than usually. “Imagine it to be like a friend that you grew up with and who always looks after you, but also tells you if you done shit or not. That’s a good comparison.” Vincent noticed them slowing down and so did he.

“Well good, because I’d hate to have you run away from me... I enjoy your company far too much.”she said with a chuckle. Oksanna has already shared a lot with him tonight, and she wouldn’t have an issue with sharing more of what’s on her mind, but she didn’t want to overdue it for first date, and talk about bad stuff from her life. It was cute to see how awkward he’d act in certian moments, it made her wonder when was the last time he went on a date, he seemed like such an old school type of guy which she found intriguing. “I have a friend like that... I guess the main difference is we don’t live under the same roof, so it’s bearable.”Oksanna said with a laughter. With a soft sigh, she glanced up towards the four storey building as she came to a stop, and shifted lightly so she was facing him now. “So, this is me... I hoped the walk would be longer, but time flies by when you’re having a good time.”the blonde said with a chuckle as she glanced up at him soflty.

Oksanna let out a short grunt of disapproval, seven was too early and she just wished Santiago could get some proper sleep. She was already laying in bed all comfortably, but it felt even more so as he snuggled in from behind her. "I'll probably wake up with you, and text Alma to see if she can come pick me up, so we can spend the day together."she murmured, as O wasn't going to work tomorrow, but she also didn't want to be alone, which he advised her of as well. "If you continue playing with my hair like that, i'll be out in the matter of ten seconds."she hummed sweetly as he body began to relax in his closeness. @spellbindingnights

"It's been a long day, babe" he agreed. For the both of them, but especially her with everything going on with her ex. Santiago followed her to bed. He changed onto his pajamas, washed his teeth and got into the bed. Immediately, he wrapped his strong arm around her middle and pulled her closer to his body so he could spoon her.

"Seven if I'm lucky" he admitted, taking his phone and set the alarm and then plugged it so it could charge through the night. Then he snuggled into her, pressing a loving kiss on her shoulder. "You?" He asked as his fingers began to play with her blonde hair. @utterxdesires

Oksanna waited for him patiently to be done with the dishes and let her arm wrap around his mind while his draped around her shoulders, her body leaning into him once he kissed her temple. "Yes, lets. I'm beat."the blonde murmured with a sigh and a short chuckle. She was mostly exhausted mentally with the whole ex boyfriend drama, and for good reason.

Once they were in the bedroom, she slowly moved herself away from him and pulled the covers down. She let her blonde locks down and got into bed, waiting for him so she could turn on her side, with her back turned to him, so he'd spoon her. "When do you have to get up?"she asked, in case they need to set an alarm. "That is, unless they call you in."she mused, which was always an option in his line of work. @spellbindingnights

Santiago nodded his head in agreement. It definitely was one hell of a plan, even more if they went with Alma and her boyfriend. It was nice to have a social life and friends. Personally, he didn't have much outside the force since he lost contact with most of his school friends.

"Yes ma'am, straight to bed" he nodded his head slowly as he finished with the dishes. He dried his hands and then walked to her, draping his arm over her shoulders and pressed a kiss on her temple. "Let's go to bed, pretty girl" he smiled and walked them to his bedroom. @utterxdesires

"Then you'll let me know when we can go, and I'll nudge Marcos. He'll be delightful to be our host."Oksanna murmured with a smile. With her and Alma being besties, she always embraced the Latin culture, and it brought her joy to be able to share moments like this with Santi, plus Marcos was an amazing cook.

"Perfect."she commented to the dinner with his sister, it's been a while since Oksanna saw her, and she liked her. She spoke her mind always, and O loved the way she did her make up... "Straight to bed."Oksanna mused and kissed his cheek. "Tea will just make me go to the toilet whole night."she said, and both of them needed to put together a few decent hours of sleep. She waited for him to finish washing the dishes and tugged him along. "Come on, lets cuddle and sleep." @spellbindingnights

"Oh, say less, you already got me with latinamerican food" he chuckled softly. His parents were also latinos, his mom was mexican and his father from Venezuela, so he grew up eating tacos, arepas and many other delicious dishes. "I only heard about argentinian steak and wine, so we should absolutely go" he nodded his head in agreement.

"Wonderful, I'll let her know and then we'll coordinate the rest" he nodded his head and finished his meal as well. He drank some water and then got up. "I'll wash these" he said. "Do you want a tea or straight to bed?" He asked curiously as he washed the dishes. @utterxdesires

She smiled with a hint of excitement, even though she was mentally exhausted, the thought of them skipping town for a few days did that to her. "I can't wait, Santi. You'll let me know when you can take days off so I can organize things at work and call up a friend for the beach house."she murmured.

Oksanna felt tension leaving her body as he gently scrubbed her, the warm water helped a lot as well. He took such good care of her, Oksanna could only hope she was giving some of it back to him. "I love you, too, hun."the blonde murmured and turned around when all of the soap was gone from her body. Giving his lips a quick kiss, she turned the water off and opened the sliding doors to grab the towels, giving him one. "Lets get dressed and grab a quick bite before we crash to bed."she mused and wrapped the towel around herself before getting out. @spellbindingnights

"The beach house it is" he smiled softly. Santiago began to scrub her body, there was nothing sexual in his actions, just pure intimacy. And while nothing topped their sex lives, he also enjoyed these moments. "I'm sure I will" he agreed. Honestly, as long as they could have some time to themselves, he would go anywhere.

"I know, babe, I know" he said warmly as his hands scrubbed her body, massaging her shoulders as well. "Yeah, I know" he said slowly. Santiago wasn't used to having people look after him, it was always the other way round. He took care of his sister, he was a detective and a good neighbor and boyfriend. "I love you, baby" he said sincerely. @utterxdesires

"Me too - everything has been hectic with work and just life in general. But I'd love more than anything to go away with you for a couple of days just to relax."Oksanna mused. "I'd prefer the beach house. It's isolated, and no matter the weather we can sit outside, enjoy the sound of waves, the smell of the ocean... You will love it."the blonde assured him. As he turned and kissed her head she smilled at him softly. Nodding her head, Oksanna carefully turned around so he could scrub her as well.

"I understand, Santi. Or, at least I'm trying to, I'm not in your shoes. But I still worry, because I love you."the blonde murmured. She wished Santi would share more with her, to ease his burden at least a bit, but he couldn't talk to her about everything that was going on and it was taking a toll on him. "You do know I'm here for you, right? No matter what."@spellbindingnights

"Oh, a beach house sounds amazing" he nodded his head slowly. "I haven't been to the beach in forever" even if it wasn't summer anymore, the beach sounded like a good plan. "Which one do you like best?" He asked softly, sighing contently at her massages. "Yes, hopefully this will be over soon" he nodded his head in agreement. He turned his face and pressed a kiss on her head. "Here, let me scrub you now" he smiled tiredly.

Santiago shook his head. "It's part of the job, baby" he said simply. "Sometimes it gets like this, sometimes it's easier and others is worse" it was the truth, he couldn't control it, as much as he wanted to. "It's fine, I'll be fine" he assured her. @utterxdesires

Oksanna really liked that Santi got close with her friends, and that he liked spending time with them. She didn't know a lot of people from his life, but then again Santi had to grow up a lot earlier than most, and take care of his sister, not to mention his job took a lot of his time. He clicked with Alma immediately, which was most important to Oksanna, she loved Santiago, saw her future with him, and Alma is also big part of her lfie.

"No, it's not."the blonde shook her head sideways as she took a bite of food. "He makes different foods from Latin America, mostly Argentinian specialties. It's really delicious, Marcos is a genius when it comes to food. We can go whenever you want, baby."she mused, maybe it'd be nice for two of them to meet as well, since Marcos did date her mother. "Amazing. Then i'll be more than happy to join you two."she confirmed with a happy smile before taking last bite of food; there was still some pasta in the bowl but she was full, so she placed the bowl on the night stand. @spellbindingnights

Santiago chuckled softly at her comment. "They do make a nice couple" he agreed. He liked Oksanna's friends, they were nice, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He and Alma both came from latin families, so they had some things in common.

"Marcos?" He frowned and then nodded when she clarified who he was. "Oh, for sure... is it an italian restaurant?" He asked curiously in between bites of his meal. "Yes of course, she even suggested it" he said. Salomé was a very protective person, always on her guard and reluctant to strangers who tried to disrupt their small family, but she liked Oksanna, which was a relief to him. @utterxdesires

Oksanna smirked softly while watching him prepare for bed after their shower together. He's such an amazing human in so many ways, Oksanna really got lucky to call him her boyfriend. He looked, and sounded exhausted, but as soon as Oksanna put his t-shirt on, she listened to him speak and went quickly towards the kitchen to grab two bowls of pasta.

"Sounds like a great idea. I'll have to prepare something with Alma, i'm a disaster in the kitchen. It'd be nice, for four of us to have dinner together..."she murmured and got onto the bed next to him, handing him a bowl. "Before you say anything, I know you haven't eaten, or barely ate today because of work. And I didn't eat anything because of the stress... So we should have a few bites at least before crashing."she murmured; Oksanna had issues with food before and didn't want to fall back into her old habits. @spellbindingnights

"Excellent" he said, mirroring her contagious smile. "Once this case is over" he promised as he helped her rinse her hair and body. She was so beautiful, and smart, and kind, he was madly in love with her. Eventually they finished with the shower and got out of it. Santi dried himself and then wrapped the towel around his hips. He put on deodorant and combed his wet hair.

"Yes, please... I am exhausted" he confessed as he followed her to his bedroom. He handed her one of his old t-shirts and then put on his pajamas. "Once the case is over, we should also organize some dinner, we can invite Alma and her boyfriend" he suggested. @utterxdesires

"You're a good man, Santiago. I knew that from the moment we met. There was something about your eyes and the way you talk that was so trustworthy... and that it won't just stay on that, that you actually mean it."the blonde said with a soft smile. She loved him more with each passing day, there was always something she saw in him or was reminded of that made her love him more. "That sounds great, and thank you."she murmured softly.

"Sure, yeah, I will."O nodded. "Why don't you go start the shower for us, i'll put pasta to heat up, grab towels and join you."she suggested and let him pull her up with him, her body easily leaning into his for a hug. "I know, baby. I know."she hummed with a soft sigh before looking up at him. "Go now, i'm right behind you." @spellbindingnights

It was actually very fucked up to hear that the people who were supposed to protect her didn't do shit. "I am glad you feel safe with me, I love you and I want to protect you" he said kindly. "Yes, you should... I'll take you myself to do that. I hate to say it, but people in there might reconsider their actions. You are my girl and so everyone at my precinct will look after you because of it" he said knowingly.

"Would you like to join me?" He offered, pressing a loving kiss on her temple. "Pasta sounds good, yeah" he nodded his head as he stood up and gently pulled her up with him. Santi pulled her closer and hugged her again, pressing a kiss on top of her head. "Everything is going to be alright" he said confidently. @utterxdesires

The relationship with a homicide detective certainly wasn't easy, his work took a lot of time, there were a lot of sleepless nights, but Oksanna was adapting to it all. She loved him, cared for him as much as he did for her. And he was the only man in her life that accepted her fully for how she is, even this damaged and broken, he held her together.

"We will agree on something when we all grab some free time. I'm sure Alma and Mike will be delightful to hang out with us."she mused with a grin. "Yeah, we're friends. The two of them are dating now thanks to me introducing them."Oksanna said with a small smile, their relationship was blossoming each day and it was amazing to watch. "I brought pasta from one of my favorite places, it was on my way to yours."Oksanna mused and handed him the bowl full of pasta she heated up before bringing the bowls into the bedroom. "Here, baby, eat. You'll sleep better with a full stomach."@spellbindingnights

Santiago's previous relationships didn't last much because not everyone could deal with his job and crazy schedule. It was also fair to say that maybe he didn't love the rest as much as he loved Oksanna. He could see himself building a life with her, growing old.

"Yeah, or we can go somewhere or order something, just do something fun" he knew how much Alma meant to her. "And you are friends with her boyfriend as well, right?" He asked as he put on his underwear. Honestly, he was ready to go to bed, but she was right. He was also hungry, so it wasn't that bad either. "Yeah, let's eat something" he agreed, nodding his head slowly. "I don't even know what's in the fridge" he admitted with a soft chuckle. @utterxdesires

Oksanna continued rubbing his back, helping him relax. She hated how exhausted he looked, it could easily reflect on his health. So when he mentioned taking a small trip when all of this is over, she smiled softly. "That's an amazing idea, Santi."the blonde murmured. "One of my good girl friends has a small beach house at the coast... I've been there once, it's beautiful, private, just breathtaking and perfect for recharging."the blonde explained. "And my uncle owns cabin in the woods, if that's something you'd prefer. It's also isolated, the nature there is amazing."she murmured and dropped a kiss onto his shoulder. Her arms wrapped around his mid, just keeping him in her embrace and enjoying the moment under the shower. "I'll keep my fingers crossed we can skip town soon... god knows we need it. You more than anything, baby. I hate how tired you look... You're making me worried." @spellbindingnights

There was so much going on, not just his case, but now all this with O, and he knew that he needed to find a way so this wouldn't take a toll on his health. Santi felt her presence behind him and relaxed his shoulders when she began to scrub his back.

"Once this is over, we should go on a small trip" he suggested. "How does that sound?" He asked softly. "Maybe go to the beach, or the mountains for a couple of days?" He certainly could do with some time off, his case was consuming him, it was brutal and emotionally draining. @utterxdesires

Watching him leave for the bathroom, Oksanna went towards the kitchen first and put some of the pasta in two bowls - ever since she started seeing her ex around and thinking she's losing her mind, Oksanna started eating less and she didn't want to fall into her old habits so she was going to eat with him and hopefully catch up on some sleep.

Once it was heated up in the microwave, she left it aside, fetched two towels for them and got to the bathroom. Oksanna got undressed quickly and entered the shower behind him. The warm water hit her pale skin right away, and she could see how tense his muscles seemed to be. Her hands ran across his back up to the shoulders, giving them a light squeeze. Dropping a kiss on the back of his neck, the blonde grabbed the shower gel and poured a good amount onto her hands before she started washing his back. @spellbindingnights

He smiled slightly. "Hey, come on... this is not about me" he said gently before pressing another kiss on her temple. Santiago had a tendency to be some sort of protector. Ever since he was eighteen and his parents died. He took care of his baby sister. Salomé wasn't even seven when it happened, so he had to be both a brother and a parent. Then his job as a detective, he wanted to help people.

"Okay" he nodded before heading to the bathroom. He turned on the shower and stripped down entirely before stepping in. He stood underneath the water stream and hummed softly as the warm water did wonders to his sore body.
