When he was offered the lead role for his first-ever musical, you kissed him in shock and pushed him to accept. Begged him almost because of his hesitation and nerves.

With each offer, you pushed him to accept. Because his dreams; his aspirations - they’re yours too. You take them on as your own after being a consistent witness to his drive to succeed. So, when his offers to be the lead actor became global, you pushed him to accept the roles. 

This time, you push him to agree with a heavy heart and unshed tears. Both of you know that being long distance would not work out, with him barely there with you physically, among other things. Seokmin’s dreams were your own and you would forever feel like a burden if you held him back from his endless potential. 

It takes all of the strength you can gather to not let your tears cascade when he whispers tearfully that his dream is you.

Fate is a weird thing though, because you see him in Milan as Bally’s new ambassador. You were in the country for a work convention and your heart suddenly raced when you saw a crowd forming. Almost like an inkling. 

And there he was. 

The sun gives him a gorgeous glow and he is as handsome as ever as he pays attention to his fans that waited for him. You’re hit with a surge of pride and love seeing him in Italy’s fashion capital, now another well-deserved title of brand ambassador under his name. Your love for him never wavered or faltered; if anything, it was as strong as before, during and after you let him go. Your eyebrows furrow when he suddenly looks up, your breath and heart hitching when he makes eye contact with you. 

Almost like he had an inkling.

“Sweetheart, you’re my dream”, he cupped your face, his touch gentle and you closed your eyes to savor his touch. To not give in to his pleas to ask him to stay. To not let him see you cry.

But your dream to succeed him overweighed your desire for your lips to form the sentence you want to say and what he wants to hear. That you want him to stay, to stay with you. As you walk away with tears rapidly running down your cheeks, you hope he understands that your love for him runs so deep that you let go.
