Chicken Run 2: Dawn of the Nugget (2023)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my favourite movie at two years old, so this is obviously not biased.

This one is up there for my favourite movies within the last two years. Bella Ramsey was such a great addition to the already lovable group.

I love the continuation of this story because the first movie ended with a neat and tidy finish. It was such a good representation of new generations changing the status quo. Every character is just as funny as the first film, and while this one may not be as quotable as the first one, it is a future classic.

(My favourite from the first film is said by Babs: “My whole life flashed before my eyes! …It was really boring.”)

I would not be upset if we got another Chicken Run in the future.

Having pulled off an escape from Tweedy's farm, Ginger has found a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new threat, and Ginger and her team decide to break in.

I would have liked it if there were a little less frantic action and instead more funny dialogue.

But it's solid family entertainment. Not exactly a classic, but amiable enough to be enjoyed. And since they are so rare, every Aardman movie has to be appreciated.
