Also, do u usally buy your books? 😊😊😊
I honestly MOSTLY get books from the library, but obviously circumstances are a bit different right now so I haven’t been buying many. I also get quite a few from publishers but the library is my favorite!

Quote Meme Tag
Thanks @appleinducedsleep for the tag!! ^.^
Tag meme: list 5-7 snippets of literature/media that live in your head rent-free to the point where you have them memorised; write them down from memory, no cheating allowed!
1. “I thought, I cannot bear this world a moment longer.”
“Then child, make another”. Circe, Madeline Miller (man these lines hit me hard when I first read them)
2. “I don’t know what to do with it.”
“With what?”
“With all this love I have for her”
“I’ll take it.” Fleabag (aaaahh this scene destroyed me)
3. “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” A Thing of Beauty, John Keats (I only remember this one line from the poem and I love it so much haha)
4. “You’re being emotional. It’s understandable, but unnecessary.” Sherlock/Enola, Enola Holmes (I’m waiting for an opportunity to use this on my friends and annoy them lol)
5. “What do we say about coincidences?”
“The universe is rarely so lazy.” Sherlock (BBC)

Thanks @anassarhenisch for the tag, I’m excited!
Make yourselves forget that the plague is a bitch BOOK edition
What’s the most recent book that you’ve read and absolutely fell in love with?
I’m not finished it, but I’d have to say It Calls from the Forest by various authors. It’s one I’m reading to review for BookSirens and honestly it’s just really fun spooky stories about the woods and I think I needed that.
Do you keep track of how many books you’re reading every month?
Oh goodness, I’ve gone overboard. I keep a running tab of my page count too, separate from my tracking on Goodreads because me and close friend set page goals this year instead of strict book count goals...so yes...very much so.
What’s your stance on the debate as to whether or not we should dissociate the artist from their art (artist = writer in this case)?
Interesting. I don’t really think you can. Of course there’s a level there that what they write about could be but I think how they go about is something we have to maintain as a part of their person. I don’t know if I can explain this right...horror authors aren’t bad people for liking dark artistic avenues, but if it’s apparent there’s a lack of humanity in their actual themes, like different prejudices showing as a non-negative in a non-satirical manner, that’s a reflection upon them. It’s a messy thing. But no, overall, there’s a semblance of themselves in their work and that has to be taken into account always.
What do you do when you can’t focus on a book?
It sits on a shelf until I get back to it. Or I force my way through it. I think I have this attachment issue with books that I feel like at some point it will hold my attention, when I’m ready for it.
Do you pay attention to the gender/ethnicity/race/sexuality of the authors you’re reading, aka do you actively try to read books written by diverse writers?
I am actually the worst at this, my personal views are highly inclusive but considering I predominately read in a male controlled genre, I just read whatever I like the idea of reading without taking authors into account until I’ve decided if I enjoy their style or not.
Paperback or hardcover? Why?
I’m sorry I can’t give any strait answers. I love all formats, but hardcovers are generally display only for me, unless already used. Paperbacks are just more convenient to read and carry around.
Which language would you like to learn just to be able to read its untranslated literature?
I think Russian, German is a close second but yeah I think Russian for sure.
Pick up the book that is closest to you. Convince me to read it in less than 10 sentences.
Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson. I mean come on, who doesn’t want an epic fantasy with end of world bearing politics and characters with elite powers? I mean, have you ever heard a sword scream? How about seen a man fly? Welcome to Roshar. The world is ending. Powers beyond us humans are fighting oh and the Sprens are the best. I would die for them.
Haha this was cute thanks again. I’m gonna go ahead and tag @ohwhatbookishdelights @reedyalikeabook @kandidlyrandom @readingismywholelife @lykareads @princessofbookaholics @fabbyale @themelodyofspring @justablueeyedfangirl and anyone please literally anyone else that I missed that wants to do it!

Thanks for tagging me @myownlittlebookcorner!
i. do you have a certain place at home for reading? My bed, the couch, or the floor when I hang out with the bunny
ii. do you use bookmarks? if so, what kind? Yes! Bookmarks I’ve gotten throughout the years but I still use anything if I didn’t grab a bookmark (ticket stubs, toilet paper, etc lol)
iii. can you just stop reading or do you have to make it to the end of the chapter? I wait until at least the next page at the start of a new sentence
iv. do you eat or drink while reading? Yes, there are food and drink splatters in some books lol
v. music or tv while reading? TV on the background. Music distracts me more which is weird
vi. one book at a time or several at once? Several. Normally two books and one ebook
vii. reading at home or out? Mostly at home or if I’m waiting somewhere, I’ll read on my phone
viii. reading out loud or silently? Silently
ix. do you read ahead or skip pages? Yes. I used to read the very end of the book when I started a book and I still sometimes do this lol
x. breaking the spine? I try not to but it happens
xi. do you write in your books? No. The only time I've written in a book was for a traveling book project
I tag: @lykareads, @themelodyofspring, & anyone else who would like to do this

Thanks @thebookbud for the tag, I’m excited!
Make yourselves forget that the plague is a bitch BOOK edition
What’s the most recent book that you’ve read and absolutely fell in love with?
I just finished Pretty Things by Janelle Brown. I loved how it was told from two different perspectives that overlapped at times to tell the same scene with different viewpoints. It was suspenseful without being annoying. Somehow she told the whole story without revealing some of the important parts. I loved the dramatic irony. There were some really beautifully written paragraphs and quotes that I highlighted to keep in mind.
Do you keep track of how many books you’re reading every month?
I used to have a mason jar in my room and every time I finished a book, I would write it on a strip of paper and drop it in the jar. On December 31 of every year, I’d go back through the jar. Now... I don’t (oops).
What’s your stance on the debate as to whether or not we should dissociate the artist from their art (artist = writer in this case)?
Personally, I am in the “a book is good if it’s good, regardless of who the author is” camp. I am not going to avoid a book that I’ve heard is good just because the author has fallen out of favor. I understand that this is a sticky scenario, and while I don’t want to financially support people with poor morals, reading is a form of escape for me and it’s important for my mental health. I’m not going to deny myself a wonderful story.
What do you do when you can’t focus on a book?
Usually I don’t have a hard time focusing on a book once I’ve started. I do, however, tend to get tired of series in between books. When that happens, I like to alternate reading a book in a series with a standalone book from a different author with a completely different genre. When I switch it up, I find I enjoy reading more and get through books faster.
Do you pay attention to the gender/ethnicity/race/sexuality of the authors you’re reading, aka do you actively try to read books written by diverse writers?
While I seek out lists of the best books written by diverse authors, especially female authors, as a whole, I don’t purposefully select certain books over others based on the diversity of the author. I generally don’t care who a book is written by and instead focus on reading a wide range of stories.
Paperback or hardcover? Why?
I honestly don’t care if a book is paperback or hardcover. I do, however, refuse to read ebooks of any kind. I like being able to collect physical books and also turn the physical pages as I’m reading.
Which language would you like to learn just to be able to read its untranslated literature?
This is hard because I know I am truly terrible with foreign languages. I would probably say Italian. I took four semesters of it in college and wish that I had learned and retained more than I had.
Pick up the book that is closest to you. Convince me to read it in less than 10 sentences.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Following two sisters with a complicated relationship. Makes you question everything you know about what happened in France during WW2. Beautiful writing. Extremely powerful and well-rounded characters. You find yourself so invested in the story that you don’t want to put it down. But you also don’t want it to end. It makes you want to cry but also smile at the strength of humanity. Definitely a must-read for anyone that likes historical fiction or liked All The Light We Cannot See.
This was so fun and a good distraction so thank you for that. I’m going to nominate some random people that have been giving me lots of love. Thank you guys! @libri-et-coffea @therefugeofbooks @lykareads @just0nemorepage @juneacademic

Hi Ms. Paige, I am just new here. Though I want to know some tips on how to get a good picture of your books. Im having a hard time especially with the lighting. Lol. Haha. I hope you'd reply to this. Thanks! I love your book photos. Super!
Welcome! What I have found to be the best is use natural lighting to your advantage! I take all my photos either near my window or facing the light and that really helps! I also use the app VSCO to edit my photos and it has a lot of different features/filters that allows you to play around with!

✨✨✨𝓗𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓸, 𝓫𝓸𝓸𝓴𝓲𝓼𝓱 𝓯𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼!✨✨✨ A bit of a cold and hot weather in this side of the Philippines, my friends! Yes, the weather can’t seem to make up its mind if it wants a cold or a hot day today 🤦🏻♀️ Last night, my booksta besties and I were talking and we started computing what we’ve spent on books since the start of the quarantine. The results are on the crazy side of the spectrum, but I’m really steadfast in being the most behaved out of the four of us 😂😂😂 Hi, beshies @_katnissevergreen, @lykareads, @beethebookjunkie! Then one of my coworkers asked me point blank this morning just how many books do I own 😂 I really stopped counting after 800 🙈 That was a long time ago, though. And the number is a bit tame since we’ve already donated a lot to local libraries and charities 😬 So Eclipse, this very book, was the very first book I bought with my own money and got me to start collecting books. I needed to hide the next few ones from my dad since he didn’t approve back then of my obsessions. So what I did was take on tutoring on the sidelines, aside from being smart about my allowance to save enough and buy books 😉 𝙌𝙊𝙏𝘿: 𝐷𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑘𝑒𝑒𝑝 𝑎 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑏𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑜𝑤𝑛? 𝘼𝙊𝙏𝘿: As I said, I already lost track of mine after 800 but I’m trying my best to make a catalogue or an inventory of some sort just so everything would be in order 😆 A bit difficult, though, since I tend to get sidetracked with the books I don’t even remember I own 🤣 Hope you’re all staying safe and healthy! #TheBookwormPrincess👸🏻 #bibliophile #bookstagram #books #readersofig #igreads #booklover #bookaholic #mybookfeatures #bookstagramcommunity #booklovers #booksandmagic #bookwormadventures #PageTurnersPh #Twilight #NewMoon #Eclipse #BreakingDawn #MidnightSun #TheTwilightSaga #StephenieMeyer https://www.instagram.com/p/CDvcwzbAxU8/?igshid=1qcj6i1h75zwe
