a large fishing spider who has taken up residence at the pond! during the day she rests under the branches and rocks surrounding the water, and by night she can be seen waiting by the water's edge for prey, her forelegs extended over the water (I hope to photograph this behaviour one night!)

Spiders found on the walls of buildings, even away from the rising water. Best to stay safe everywhere and climb up every building I guess.

a good example of a fishing spider hunting on the water's edge. this individual shares the pond with the massive female I posted previously, but is possibly a different species of Dolomedes.
Crafty fishing spider, juvenile (Dolomedes facetus).

Well camouflaged spider.
I first thought this was the Australian Lichen Spider, turns out it just looks very similar. This is a different species entirely.
