A new thing I'm thinking about including for my Sonic AU

This is for my Sonic '06 AU

Silver's known Mephiles for basically all his life (he's young in the first picture). He gives Silver praise to keep him happy and trusting him, and to pull him further under his control.

The second picture is Sonic trying to convince Silver that Mephiles isn't a good person. Silver knows, but is deep in denial about it because of his idealized version of Mephiles he has in his mind.

This is a new idea I just had in the past few hours, but aha... Psychological torture is my favorite thing to subject characters to 🥰

I just find it novel, how humans grieve. How we keep little things as mementos. Whether it’s pressed leaves and flowers to remember a season long gone, or the teeth of a beloved companion lost to time. We understand that everything is finite, yet we hold onto crumbs. Trinkets to hold and remember.

For many, grief is easier processed with something physical. The collar of a pet, the ring of a spouse, the toy of a child… Holding these items close to you is so natural for humans. It’s comforting to think about.

We’re all sentimental bastards and it’s genuinely beautiful.

Some Sentences Sunday

I promise that drag queen au has not been abandoned, it lives rent free in the werk room in my brain. But sometimes your friend wakes up from a dead sleep and drops a fic idea into the server. AND then sometimes that friend has emergency surgery and does the digital equivalent of batting eyelashes and asking nicely says "write me a fic."

I watch him as he signs, and I can tell from the movement of his hands that he’s feeling that itch in his palms. An itch we’ve often discussed. The itch of wanting to lay hands on Justin. Wanting to lay hands on him, not to reassure him, but out of purely selfish reasons. Wanting to lay hands on him to make sure he’s okay, he’s still there. To reassure ourselves.
