I’ve been rereading How Bright We Burn and I’ve noticed a few things that probably mean nothing but it’s just in my head for some reason

- while Jeff and Nick were figuring their shit out Jeff probably thought Nick had a little crush on Blaine. Like Jeff noticing Nicks arm around Blaine shoulders or when he offered to be Blaines new years kiss. Jeff was probably wishing Nick would be comfortable expressing attraction to him like he is with Blaine. To Jeff, Nick was probably giving him so many mixed signals 😭

- As I’ve been rereading this I’ve noticed Dylan is literally lurking in the shadows but yeah he obviously watches Blaine from afar, he said something about going to the Christmas holiday concert and being dressed in disguise so no one would know he’s there or that they’re friends and at first I didn’t think anything of it but now that I know he likes Blaine (or at least he’s shown interest) I’m rethinking all of it. Him watching Blaine and Sebastian during dinner… he must like Blaine so much.

-i know Sebastian views his mom better than his dad but I also wonder if he views her more of a friend than a mother. Like assuming Sebastian probably started having sex early (with older men as well at that) like does he ever have moments where he resents his parents for not paying closer attention to him. (like protecting him from the men who where way older than him, he also probably didn’t have any REAL friends his age) His views of life and relationships are most likely reflective of his parents relationship which he probably sees everything wrong with it but at the same time it’s normal/comfortable for him because that’s all he knows, the thing is he obviously cannot continue that cycle with Blaine, so in the sequel is probably gonna be really hard for him (assuming he’s going to have a hard time communicating that with Blaine or moments where he kind gets closed off or pushes Blaine away) it’ll be interesting to read anyway, but yeah I think way too much.

seblaine is soooo push and pull in until we burn out, they oscillate between these really sweet moments like the 2 am kiss on new years and these very angst filled fights like the break up and that honestly describes where their relationship is at right now

I was tagged by @bitbybitwrites and I'm so excited to get back into writing this year. Last year I set a crazy reading goal for myself and did almost nothing else, but this year I want to get back into my other hobbies, writing especially, so hopefully you'll see more of these!

This is from a little something I've been messing around with, it doesn't have a title yet, but it's currently labeled as "Ghost!Blaine AU" in my files.

The second time Sebastian brought a boy home they made it all the way to the bedroom before he heard a loud crash from the kitchen and had to pull himself away from the tangle of limbs to investigate. All of his cabinets were open and the contents had been dumped on the floor. Bowls, plates, cups, food, all of it. The boy was standing in the middle of it, looking shaky and breathing heavily. 

“Out,” he barked, and it was the first time Sebastian had ever heard him speak. His eyes flickered with rage and when all the lights went out, Sebastian’s date, once again, ran for the hills. 

Sebastian closed the door behind him and leaned against it heavily for a moment before he steeled himself and moved swiftly to his room. Rifling through the few unpacked boxes in his closet he retrieved a small but ornate box and a rosary. He stalked back to the kitchen and walked right up to the boy still standing among the wreckage, his shoes crunching on broken glass.

“Do you know what this is?” Sebastian asked, presenting the box. The boy startled back a few steps when Sebastian locked eyes with him. The lights flickered with the boy’s unsteady breathing. 

“I-I–”

“It’s a sealing box, currently empty, purchased the day I signed the lease to this place.”

The boy’s eyes were wide and terrified. He backed up a few more paces but Sebastian followed until he was backed into the cabinet behind him, his back bent at an awkward angle as he tried to lean further away from Sebastian, but all that did was give Sebastian more height to tower over the cowering ghost. 

“It’s a lot of work to exoricse a spirit, work I wasn’t particularly keen on doing when you seemed harmless, but now?”

“I’m-I’m sorry,” the boy said, his voice nearly a whimper.

“Do I have to use it? Or can you keep your blatant homophobia in check?” 

“Im not… that’s not–”

Sebastian raised an eyebrow at him but he wouldn’t meet Sebastian’s expectant stare. 

“It won’t happen again,” he said softly. 

“Good,” Sebastian said sharply. 

He opened the box and dropped the rosary back inside before setting it on the counter. The boy flinched but didn’t do more than straighten up when Sebastian moved away from him.

Holy shit, am I writing again? Perhaps for a bit. Anyways, who wants some kid Kurtbastian from my Love Stage rewrite?

“You,” the Director said, zeroing on Kurt, kicking his legs in his aunt’s makeup chair, “can you act?”

Kurt blinked at him, “I do plays for my mom,” he said hesitantly.

“And I thought it was the little girl you were looking to replace, not the boy,” Kurt’s mother said, resting a hand on Kurt’s shoulder. 

“He’s already got makeup on, throw a wig on his head, he pass for a little girl easy. Face like that…” he’d trailed off and Kurt’s mom had frowned, but Kurt did not understand what he meant. He would later, as insults about his feminine features and high voice abounded, but at the time he hadn’t know he’d just experienced his first microagression. 

Once he was in the dress and standing in front of the cameras he’d felt his first taste of stage fright. There were so many people than his usual audience of his parents and his stuffed animals, and the lights were so bright. His eyes flitted around the set, wide and scared, his whole boy trembling. 

His mother, now in the group of adults “attending the wedding”, stepped forward and he knew she would stop this and take him back to the safety of the dressing room if he asked. But then another young boy stepped in front of him. He was taller than Kurt, limbs almost too long for his body, like they were growing faster than the rest of him.

“Hi,” he said, smiling warmly, “is this your first time on a set?” 

Kurt nodded shakily.

“Bit scary, isn’t it? But that’s okay, I’ve done lots of acting, so I’ll be here for you.” The boy shoved his hand in his pocket and dug something out. “Do you want to see what I use when I’m scared?” He held out his hand to Kurt and he peered down at a marble in his hand, green and brown with a little swirl of blue and golden flakes flecked through it. 

“It’s my lucky charm,” he whispered, “kinda looks like your eyes, doesn’t it?” Kurt smiled softly and took the marble from him to inspect it closer. “Would you like to use it today?”

Kurt looked up at him in surprise. “But what will you use?”

He grinned and grabbed Kurt’s free hand, squeezing it tight. “I’ll use you.”

“I can’t lose you” “maybe we can’t fix everything”. Felt like, “I said I love you, you said nothing back”. Which is funny cause it was Seb who didn’t say I love you back but it fits with this chapter. Anyway, I’m okay. I am. I swear.

My heart hurts for both but I can’t avoid being a little bit more on Seb’s side. Not because B feelings don’t matter, but Seb is fucked, my poor baby. 🥹

But yeah, I’m okay. :)
