So that's... the power of Luocha e1... I get it now. I am now a lil less salty from losing my 75/25.
#aria rants#was doing the new world 9 of su without geppie (very nervously too cuz im not used to not having a shielder)#but am like. well i have luocha e2 so maaaaaybe itll be fine? still nervous cuz the last boss of world 9 is the smth unto death#and i just KNOW im gonna have a hard time with that thing. well... turns out i didnt... luocha e1 is so good actually#i had ratio. himeko. bronya (oh yea and her lc i got FROM THE 75/25 LOST. i think that contributed too actually). and luocha#my ratio is decently built but still weaker than my argenti thats so far my strongest in su (esp g&g with the erudition path)#took elation path. got to the last boss with pretty okay blessings. it didnt stand a chance... it didnt actually get much of a turn...#first time i got to do that with an su boss ngl! i never got to kill em fast enough but i managed now! yippee!!! maybe losing that#75/25 wasnt so bad after all. my bronya is stronger with her buffs (i dont... i dont have any other buffer than her...) and my#luocha can finally give buffs AND shield! my team is looking pretty good. (yea since my luck is bad i couldnt get ruan mei and sparkle)#i think ratio's banner was during ruan mei's banner? and i had to get his lc (i needed him to be strong for imaginary dps)#and i couldnt try for sparkle much cuz i was planning on going for aven (which as you can see. my plans went terribly with luocha rerun)#im still gonna try for aven cuz i need another shielder than geppie and aven's kit seems to be the right fit for my ratio#back to the saving board...... hsr rng i hate you but also i cant hate you enough cuz tbf my team DID get stronger a bit...

Feel free to send me asks so I can help you individually!!! I'll be working with a friend to help anyone who is having a difficult time with team building for this fight in specific.
I've seen a lot of people struggling with the Aventurine boss so here's just a reminder on how you should chose your teams and how your should use them on this fight:
Bring character AOE attacks or that can hit twice in a turn! Avoid hunt characters, I know a lot of people want to bring Ratio to this fight and you can if he's faster than his teamates and has his ult up on the dice phase, but also the Aventurine boss has massive Imaginary RES so I wouldn't recomend that.
Characters with follow ups that can trigger without the need of an enemy activity are good options as well!
Your life support on the team should either be someone who can tank the hits when losing a bet or someone with an AOE
From each path, here's the characters I'd recomend using:
Destruction - All of them minus Xueyi
Hunt - Topaz (and Ratio if you take in consideration what I said before but I wouldn't recomend it)
Erudition - All of them
Harmony - Any of them that you've stacked with HP or DEF and can survive hits, otherwise I'd go without a buffer since none of them hits AOE and most are very squishy
Nihility - Kafka, Pela (save her ulti for the dice phase if she isn't built to tank hits), Sampo, Guinafen, Black Swan and Acheron
Abundance - Luocha and Gallagher are your best options but in general I'd recomend taking a preservation life support instead because:
Preservation - Honestly I would recomend any of them, March can hit AOEs on her ulti and use her turn to apply a shield to anyone who cant, Fu Xuan ans fire Trailblazer also have AOE ultis, Gepard will tank the hits and with enough ER he'll be able to shield anyone who can't win the bets, if you're waiting for Aventurine he can provide shield's very reasily but he will not be reliable with his follow-ups if you want him to hit AOE on the dice phase and his DMG will be reduced from the IMG RES
This is all my personal opinion on how to make this fight easier, surviving the dice phase is where I believe the biggest struggle is, if your struggle is with DMG remember to check your builds and level up your lightcones and traces!! But if you're struggling you should double down on survivability and take the fight slowly, bring two life supports from preservation and/or abundance and two reliable DMG dealers if needed!!

perfect, solider. Now we have all the tools we need at our disposal. So, Im thinking:
Jingliu, Luocha, Tingyun, and a flex, probably Gepard or another buffer like Bronya, Pela, or Asta.
Buff the hell outta that Jingliu, for she is your lifeline. First phase isn’t too hard, and if your ting Yun or Luocha get stuck in a gamble they can easily heal it back. Second phase though, I’m assuming you’re getting killed by the gamble, which yeah, makes sense. For the second phase, try to save Luocha’s ultimate for the gamble. He’ll probably have to spend a SP for his healing uptime, but you’d have a Tingyun to generate SP, and asta and pela also generate a ton of SP which mitigates if. Ofc, this assumes you’re running a fast Luocha and if you’re not, put some speed boots on him, as you either want him generating SP or spending one to heal. but saving his ult for the gamble means he’ll get all the points, and another ult to keep up his healing while also staying alive to keep Jingliu alive; I would say sustain priority is Jingliu > Luocha/Gepard > Tingyun/Buffer for tingyun and a buffer if you opt for that instead of gepard, you will want a ton of speed, but try not to neglect tankiness. So you could run 2pc hacksrsoace and then 2pc knight, disciple, or guard. For planar ornaments, broken keel or belobog will be good to go either way. if you just run Gepard, then yeah, if you have him on 4pc knight it’s all good. But he doesn’t have any way to amplify the team’s damage, so see if you can put broken keel on him so he can at least give jingliu some dmg.
Hm, I do indeed have a Bronya. She has her signature light cone, E0.
I'm always trying to keep my healer alive because he's super important LMAO. However, I didn't think of using Bronya or Black Swan as some of you suggested (I have her too). I'll see if I can buff the ever living fuck out of Jingliu.

do you have any team comp suggestions for JY 🥺
I DOO!!! It depends a lot on your character roster but a general F2P friendly way is!
Jing Yuan (Main DPS), Asta (Speed buffer), Tingyun (Supprt buff) and a healer!
But if you have Bronya, then you can swap her out with Asta for better efficiency on his skill to have more stacks on Lightning Lord, as well as Luocha for preferred healer since he's more SP positive and with Jing Yuan and Bronya using SP's it would be useful! If you're worried about survivability then swapping out Tingyun for a preservation character works as well uwu (I would personally switch out Bronya but it's all up to the individual!)
Jing Yuan and Topaz duo is starting to get used to because of Topaz's ability to buff follow up attacks as well! (Again an ATK buffer anda healer is needed after, so whoever you have can slot in, but Tingyun with Jing Yuan is always a good combo no matter what team comp you decide for!)
Personally the team comp I use is:
Fu Xuan, Luocha, Jing Yuan and Tingyun (in that order too hehe)
#narus' message corner#anon#it's a very generic team comp but it works !!!#The team comp I have is basically just the: the main dps never dies team comp HAHA

Off the Cuff 25/04/2024
Had a lot of things I wanted to talk about but I figured I'd talk about games and tier lists instead, because I realized, while talking to some people, that a lot of people don't understand tier lists.
"tires don exits"
Is a load of crock. Tiers do exist and they are there to show players where things stand relative to each other, how well they're expected to do against each other with their kits, and most importantly if you're getting into a new hobby and you like everything just enough that you can't decide, to help you save money.
This does not mean that tiers are absolute and should be taken as scripture.
Tiers are ultimately guidelines and should only be treated as such. A deeper analysis is generally needed if you're interested in actually making your money's worth/ knowing what you're doing.
Take for example, Honkai Star Rail. For this example, I'll be using Fire TB, Gepard and then add in Aventurine.
Fire TB -> gets shields with every action, shields are very small Gepard -> biggest shields but only when he ults, has higher aggro Aventurine -> weaker shields than Gepard, but uses skill points instead of ult. Also grants Eff Res 50% and allows Aventurine to block CC. Stacks. Also builds up to a follow up attack that does some damage.
If we were to look at things like this, Aventurine becomes the top tier pick, with Gepard coming in second and Fire TB suffering the fate of every f2p gacha protagonist.
However, FireTB has one thing neither of the others have, which is a Taunt. Which in turn guarantees that single target attacks and blast attacks target her, thus saving 2-3 team members from damage.
Additionally, both FireTB and Gepard can gain their shields outside of their turn, so they both have an emergency button built into their kit that Aventurine doesn't.
The question then becomes... how do you even weight this against each other? One could argue that FireTB is still the weakest due to her shields being very small, but they're sufficient in blocking most of the small hits that'll hit your party, even in MoC12, assuming she's actually built and RNG didn't just give you a ton of HP on your gear instead of DEF.
((Key words: small hits. The gorilla slam is not a small hit.))
And more importantly, she has a Taunt. A skill that tells you in advance where the damage is going to be distributed, which, I'm sure for those who've played HSR and other games like it would know, is invaluable. She can also generate a lot of skill points, as even her attacks give shields.
On the flip side, Gepard can freeze your targets whenever you've got skill points to spare, thus allowing you to delay incoming damage by just a bit and maybe give another team mate a turn. A lot of the time that's enough to get in another DoT, a Break, or maybe even a Luocha heal charge.
Yet despite all that, Aventurine guarantees that you've got shields every turn as long as you can spare the skill points, and his shields are more effective than TB's, and Eff Res., despite ((likely)) being multiplicative, is still better than having nothing but base Eff. Res in a game that's going to have more status effects. But running him may limit the amount of skill points available at any given time, and anyone who's played games like HSR will tell you that resource starvation is one of the worst things that could happen to you.
A look at any tier list would tell you what's strongest, but when laid out it becomes terribly difficult to truly judge.
It becomes extra difficult, but most importantly interesting, when you realize what it is you're weighing. But equally as important is looking at things in the macro as well as the micro. Perhaps you've already got very good sustains. Then why consider Aventurine? You don't need another sustain. You could be lacking in carries, buffers or debuffers who could all be ranked lower on the tier lists, yet would significantly better your account position to clear hard content.
Note, it is important to always zoom in and out in all topics, especially those pertaining to real life, I'm just pointing out that you really need to do this if you want to know what you're doing.
I wanted to talk about some light cones as an example, but as this is long enough, I'll end it here.

Lmao the fact that welt had an accent and everything for this scene is hilarious 😂
Also POM POM WTF EHHSJWJEEJKSJSJ when she appeared i straight up laughed
Also I know people might say when they did loucha’s quest they didn’t really find anything fulfilling but me personally I think that this gave us insight into that he isn’t really a bad guy per-say me personally I feel like he is more of a grey character but we don’t really know much about him yet
But a lot of people (march 😒) judged him but welt had every reason to judge this man because of what happened in HI3 and I can understand having his suspicions because of the messed up stuff he did.
The reason why I’m giving march the side eye 😒 is because she was soo quick to be impatient and snappy and it kind of annoyed me because of how quick to anger was too rash and wanted to hurry up the process of the case she got which was irritating not to mention she hates negotiating which is a very key in every transaction and if you want something you’ll have to sometimes charm someone for the right price that or to charm the person your getting information from for example, sampo.
How else do you think do you think he’s able to so easily charm his way into his victim’s hearts and scam them out of their money? He gets patient and waits for the right moment to strike I just get frustrated with march because these are things that your supposed to get used to and if you want something you have to work hard for it even if it’s tiring eventually you’ll get the results you wanted
Talking bout some “oh because we need this information” proceeds to have npc scam her out of her money. 😒 do get me wrong I love march 7th but she irritates me sometimes
I mean yeah that's pretty on brand from March considering how she treats Sampo 😅
I'm more surprised that the Realm-Keeping Commission just watched her do that whole roleplay thing without even going like "Yeah maybe this wasn't the best idea to ask complete strangers who are... very eccentric"
But I'm guessing they had to add more filler so that the ""plot"" could plot ;w;
And yes I'm aware the quest is meant to be like- A buffer to mitigate those "Luocha is Otto so he's a bad guy!!" ideas but I feel that this... was still not the best way to do it.
We only learn that he's not such a bad guy until the very end when it's revealed this whole goose chase was practically for nothing since all he did was save some two guys and gave them a prescription, then stopped people from getting spoiled.
People say that the companion quest is like this because MC hasn't met Luocha but... then they meet him on the Express after his quest bc Dan Heng apparently invited him there...
We also had a companion quest for a character we haven't officially met before and that was Silver Wolf. I'm pretty sure MC has only seen Kafka at the beginning before Kafka handed them over to the Express. You can also argue that she's possibly a bad guy since she's wanted criminal by the IPC for 5 billion credits.
Despite Silver Wolf not having as much screentime as the other characters in the quest, we still learn a pretty important part of her character. We get to see her motivations and what drives her actions. Even though the Stellaron Hunters' story isn't complete yet either. Plus we get valuable lore about her homeworld "Punklorde", which was very interesting to me.
But I digress. Ultimately, I'm speaking from my perspective as a writer. I have my own standards for what makes good character writing but people can have equally valid ideas for what they believe is good character writing as well. The fun of art is that it's subjective and everyone has a different interpretation.

what’s your star rail team :0
like my go-to team or the one i run around with in town/most areas?
which I guess are the same or similar. It's shifting a lot as I'm getting characters like Topaz and Fu Xuan beefed up with traces.
Luocha is usually a staple, I'm very jealous with everyone's HP, I don't want to lose a single point 😂
Typically I think I run around with Fire Trailblazer, Sampo, Kafka and Luocha since Kafka can extra-activate Sampo and TB's DOTs and Luocha keeps the squishies in good health. (I have the Topaz LC on TB so when people attack they get burned :D)
I've been putting Fu Xuan in for Luocha sometimes though, and I regularly switch out Sampo or Trailblazer for QingQUEEN because she shreds my enemies like tissue paper lol and will burn the entire universe down for me now that I've gotten her relics sorted :D (Narrator: He only recently remembered that one can synthesize desired relics and use self-molding resin to pick the initial statistic.)
I'm gonna do a lot more rambling about other configurations so heeeeeeere's a cut so the uninterested can scroll by:
My exp calyx team is Geppie, Sampo, Luka and Himeko. Used to use my partner's Himeko before he got Kafka but I've got another friend who left Himeko up for support so I'm covered 👍 She does great because there's so many enemies to have weakness broken that she's constantly activating her talent :D Luka's really not super great for damage without Kafka, but his weakness break is pretty good, I'll have to see if that's due to relics.
And since I've been stuck in the Preservation Calyx mines for the past several weeks trying to finish up Gepard adn Fu Xuan's traces, I put together a quantum/lightning team of FX, QQ, Serval and Kafka and they are doing alright. I only just reread FX's abilities though and it looks like her self-heal can only activate twice a battle? I don't think I ever need it more than twice though, so hopefully that won't change haha.
I haven't done a whole lot of Memory of Chaos yet, and I need to finish the Xianzhou segments of the regular memory hall... but I really do just kind of shuffle teams based on what element I need. I think I could stand to add a buffer into the team. I have Asta, Tingyun and Yukong but none of them are built up. I'm kind of addicted to DOTs, and they work really well especially with having Kafka so...
But yeah. Geppie's always been a staple for ice weakness battles, Luocha's in when there's no ice or there's imaginary, and QQ and Sampo are my heaviest hitters. But I like running around town as Caelus, and if I'm having to pause for some reason I like to leave Kafka idling because her humming is soothing lol or Fu Xuan. I like that she gets three versions of her divination idle. "Hmm.... someone's slacking off again." xD
Now, here's the real question. Did any of that answer your question? lmao <3 but thanks for asking. :) I really love this game~
#mail call#sorry for the rambling I don't know if this is coherent#honky stars#here's hoping boothill fits into my playstyle <333333333 robot cowboy come on home y'hear

I'm curious about something regarding Lynx.
People say that she's a great healer for Blade, and I can see why, aggro and adding hp which is like boosting the atk of a regular unit, as well as additional cleanse utility,I got that much.
But I doubt her healing will be enough,so you'll probably need another healer in a blade team (cuz you don't want him on shields) ,in which case, wouldn't that make her a bit of a liability when it comes to team options?
I mean,I guess technically speaking she takes a Harmony unit role with buffing Blade's damage, so the team would still be like the general way a Hypercarry dps team works, A dps, a buffer/debuffer , a sustainer(healer/ shielder) ,and another buffer/debuffer.
I guess I answered my own question sjdjskndjsjx
But her leaks seem a bit confusing, some say that she gets the HP increase at E6, which I doubt most people will be able to get.
Eh , we'll probably get more concrete leaks by the time 1.2 starts.
her hp increase is in her skill so base kit. it might get buffed by eidolons (other than the +3 skill) but it's in the base kit, idk why people keep saying it isn't
as for her healing we don't know her stats yet afaik? so it'll depend. she won't heal as much as bailu or luocha but that's what you want with blade, and he heals himself regularly so im actually pretty confident it'd be enough. using another healer would just waste a spot for a sub dps or a debuffer
also blade doesn't synergize a lot with harmony characters (he wants hp), neither does he with current healers (except maybe natasha depending on how much she heals. the others would heal him too much - especially luocha who heals the second you get under 50%) so that's another reason why lynx would be perfect specifically if she doesn't heal a lot
blade doesn't need a lot of healing, two healers - even if one gives mediocre healing - is the opposite of what you'd want. with his self-healing mechanic, lynx should be enough and then you pair them with a debuffer like pela and either a sub dps or a harmony character
