How do main blog side blogs work

I am by NO MEANS an expert but here’s what I found for you.

From the Tumblr Help page:

A primary blog is the one you created when you signed up for Tumblr. It gives you full use of Tumblr’s social features, including follow, like, ask, and submit.

Secondary blogs are any blogs you create in addition to your primary blog. You can create up to 10 of these per day. (though seriously - do you NEED ten per day? This seems crazy to me)

So I know some people have different blogs per fandom - which is actually pretty nice to their older fandom friends because maybe the Reylo friends they’ve had for two years aren’t all that interested in a blog that has become 99.9% Bughead. Clearly those people with a sideblog love their followers more than I do because I have the same blog no matter the fandom. #notsorry

I think most people have them so they can keep their interests separate. Like maybe they don’t mind sharing an inspirational quote blog with their real life friends and family - but think that an intense Bughead related blog with massive amounts of naughty fanfiction isn’t something they want their cousin to see or something. I clearly have no problem sharing exactly who I am with whomever - so I never felt the need to create alternate blogs or anything. I suppose people’s desire for sideblogs would vary per person - so if it’s something you’d like to do, Grayface - you should do it. :D

I DO happen to have a couple side/group blogs though simply because I like to think of them a nifty places to organize things. For example, I still belong to the group blog @fuckyeahahscoven with my lunchtable girlies (even though nothing has been posted there in years), and I hold tight to my @ahs-exchange group because I was the mod for the exchange for years and I loved it and even though we don’t do fic exchanges like that anymore - it still means a lot to me.

And then of course I have the three Bughead related sideblogs - the @bugheadauproject, @ao3feed-jugheadxbetty, and a new one that will be all about fic recs and only fic recs… that I created and Cami’s made pretty… I just haven’t decided how exactly I want to share the recs yet - so it’s not being pimped here at this time - but it WILL be pimped - never you fear. lol.
