Shadow wasn't someone who really took or believed in breaks, but he liked having the time to sight see when he could, and Spagonia was one of his favorite places for it. Team Dark had been sent for an intel-gathering mission, but the day had been quiet and eventually Shadow found his footsteps carried him to the serene and idyllic Gaia Temple located in the city's outskirts. Maybe it was due to his affiliation with Chaos energy that he would find himself here.

He was not alone though, despite it being well into the later half of the night, and Shadow could pick up on just enough strange energy from the other figure to put him appropriately on guard. He said nothing, and quietly watched as they approached.

Shadow's eyes narrowed as he spotted them, and heard what was being said. He didn't know how to feel about such a thing, but clenched his fists anyway. "A bold claim. The hell even are you?" The hedgehog's stare was on them, readying himself mentally for any kind of attack, and he raised his fists up nearly defensively. "You know what. I don't even care. Just stay out of my way." He didn't know why he felt so stressed, so suddenly, but was trying to remain calm about it. Indifferent.

"Yeah, that seems to be a natural endpoint for a lot of Shadows, really..." Tails muses, remembering his own world's Shadow. Unfortunately, he figures that his own Shadow would be too difficult to deal with.

"I'll go and talk to him, see if maybe I can get a couple of things sorted out. Maybe he can help me keep an eye out for Jericho..."

the hedgehog hesitates. this vulnerability, this … feeling … it shook him. it was all so different to everything he was used to. it had once seemed as though the world had been determined to rip everything good away from him. but jericho was here. jericho was here and he wasn’t going anywhere.

chest aching, shadow takes a breath, gloved hand taking jericho’s in his own. a small smile tugs at the corner of his mouth, an unexpected pleasant warmth spreading across his face.

As the feed cut out, Tails was silent. He taps a key on the console from his lab, severing his connection with G.U.N.'s servers. More gods of destruction coming to damage the world?

This was going to be fun, he sarcastically thought.

"So... what do we do?"

The fox sighs, rubbing his eyes. "...G.U.N.'s gonna be trying to hold whatever this thing is for as long as possible. In the meantime, we should try and find this Jericho before either they do... or before he does."
