🎮 Forspoken is slick, funny, and nowhere near as bad as you think it is - In-Depth Review 🎮

Forspoken shines as a fun and frenetic action-adventure, tailouring its fast load times to fit its superb magical parkour. Combat is flexible and rich with magic, but, despite some strategy, doesn't scale much. The story works but lacks inspiration and its characters solid performances can't quite hold it up. That said, the negative social media reaction I saw for the game is, for me, completely overblown. It might not be Game of the Year, but Forspoken is an enjoyable fantasy experience with sparks of real potential.

SQUARE ENIX® et Luminous Productions ont dévoilé le nouveau trailer de FORSPOKEN : La rencontre de deux mondes. Les nouvelles images montrent Frey Holland, la protagoniste, aux prises avec le continent d’Athia et ses paysages tentaculaires. Les joueuses et les joueurs ont également un aperçu des ennemis, beaux mais redoutables, qu’ils rencontreront ainsi que des pouvoirs magiques qu’ils devront maîtriser sur PlayStation®5 (PS5™) et PC dès le 11 octobre 2022, nouvelle date de sortie du jeu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3EB1fwH7poDans ce nouveau trailer de gameplay, Frey prend confiance en elle en relevant le défi : sauver Athia et son peuple. Elle doit faire face aux épreuves qui l'attendent dans cet étrange monde où elle a été transportée. Le trailer lève un peu plus le voile sur les compétences magiques que Frey apprend au fil de son aventure. Ces pouvoirs incluent entre autres « Traque orageuse » qui permet de générer de l'énergie électrique pendant les combats, et « Déferlante » qui permet de contrôler des barrières d'eau.

Ces séquences de gameplay montrent également l'impact dévastateur de la Brume, un miasme qui corrompt tout ce qu'il touche sur Athia, y compris les humains et les animaux. Elles présentent également plusieurs créatures corrompues que les joueuses et les joueurs affronteront dans le jeu, notamment le Gigas qui fait trembler le sol et l'Apsaravis volant. Par ailleurs, On y découvre le dragon féroce qui accueille Frey sur Athia, le parkour magique ainsi que les compétences de combat de Frey qui esquive les attaques brutes de la redoutable créature au cours d'un affrontement intense.   SQUARE ENIX et Luminous Productions ont par ailleurs dévoilé une illustration inédite représentant l'aventure de Frey lorsqu’elle commence à maîtriser ses compétences magiques. Cette nouvelle illustration sera utilisée sur l'une des faces de la jaquette réversible de l'édition physique* du jeu, qui est d'ores est déjà disponible en précommande chez les revendeurs participants.onçu pour la PS5, FORSPOKEN tirera parti de toute la puissance de la console et incarnera la philosophie de Luminous Productions en proposant une expérience de jeu inédite alliant technologie de pointe et créativité. FORSPOKEN sera disponible simultanément sur PS5 et PC (sur STEAM®, Epic Games Store et Microsoft Store) le 11 octobre 2022. How much control do artists have over their work? (4)

After a period of many controversies and increased control over her work, Britney Spears was placed under a conservatorship. This can be seen as a sort of reversal of her previous state, as her control over production had strongly increased.

Even under the conservatorship, Britney Spears still co-wrote songs such as in Britney Jean. She also expressed herself in interviews, though she was not allowed to talk about the conservatorship.

The artist still discussed artistic choices, however the interviews often seem too “polished” and she seemed to stay at surface level.

In this interview especially, the artist is especially evasive when answering the questions, often repeating the phrase “really cool”. It gives the impression that she may not be allowed to say more.

All of the artist’s actions had to be approved of under the conservatorship. This means that though she was bringing ideas of her own, Spears did not have a say in the end decision - which includes artistic choices.

There were also decisions which she was forced into making, as Spears claimed in a 2021 testimony - for exemple, receiving “punishment” for rejecting a new choreography.

Having been released from the conservatorship for a short time, the artist has not released many new songs so far. However it is still interesting to see how different her control is in her collaboration with Elton John.

Producer Andrew Watt described her as “She was so prepared. She had spent time with the record and knew how she wanted to do it”. 

We can see here that she appropriated her part of the song to sing it, instead of it being obligatory.

Moreover, the issue of control is also present in her public image : after the conservatorship, Spears had to “come back” and many people would witness it. As we have seen previously, being very famous can lead to a loss of control of one’s public image. This was one of the singer’s fears when “Hold me Closer'' was released.

Elton John speaks of “holding her hand through the whole process, reassuring her that everything’s gonna be alright” : this support can be another way to bring a sense of control, as Spears wasn’t alone in the process of production and release.
