a/n: aether vs your many fake fans

the flow of time has never felt steady to aether. despite how important it was to humans wherever he and his sister have traveled, there has always been a disconnect from it for him. You disappearing for months at a time is nothing out of the ordinary. time flows the same with or without You. like the sea's waves, it recedes and pushes. when he's used as a vessel by You, weeks can pass by in the blink of an eye and hours can feel like years spent in Your embrace. years have passed since You first started possessing them, and yet it's only been a couple of months at most. nothing moves forward in Your presence, nothing stays in stasis in Your absence.

so when he suddenly truly understands how humans experience the passage of time during another one of Your disappearances, aether immediately knows something is wrong. filled with dread and a harrowing heaviness deep in his gut that something has happened he can never take back, he finally understands what it means to be desperate for more time. have You abandoned him at last? has he not been enough, not quick enough to uncover this world's secrets and find his sister as You desired? finding you, clearly not from this world and trying to backtrack when you call him by his name—aether, his name, not Your sacred name he has been passing off as his own ever since Your arrival in teyvat—before any of Your other undeserving, fanatical vessels do seems nothing short of a miracle to him.

overjoyed at not having been abandoned after all, he clings to you and promises to protect and guide you through this foreign world—this time not as Your vessel, but as your first and most devoted follower. he doesn't need to be his own person, not when he can exist within the context of you.

paimon is less convinced. aether has turned even more immoderate and unnerving ever since your appearance, and she's not a fan. she… kind of understands. how important You are to aether, to the many others You've met through them during their journey. but does he—do any of them—really need to devote their entire being to You? she doesn't mind you, as a person, she really doesn't. but she doesn't like what You as a concept do to aether.

these days, she barely feels like she's part of the group, the one she formed with aether what seems so long ago, anymore. your arrival has completely overshadowed her presence. where she was previously part of a duo with her travel companion, she feels like little more than an afterthought now. she misses him. he calls her silly for it. she has only ever known him through Your command, so there isn't anything to miss. he's the same as he has always been. she just doesn't understand because You never graced her with Your embrace, and now that you have seemingly lost that ability perhaps she will never understand.

she says nothing, but she finds herself a little glad. better to never experience Your embrace, whatever that means, than lose herself completely in devotion to someone who clearly wants none of it.

the first archon they approach with you, venti, is apologetic but firm in the notion that aether is simply confused. he can understand how aether came to the conclusion, desperate and unused as he is following Your disappearance, but Your presence is simply unmistakable. he bids the two of you farewell amicably, but you find it impossible not to notice the difference in his demeanour afterwards when you run into him around the city. his smile is deftly crafted and practiced, his voice level and fingers steady as they pluck the strings of his lyre, but something about his eyes betray his own growing desperation.

if even aether is faltering like this, perhaps You really have abandoned them this time…? if he shows You how well mondstadt is faring, how much they've rebuilt and grown and thrived since You helped him quell dvalin's anguish, will You be proud of him and return? even if not to him, at least to the city? will You ever have Your vessels dance in the city square's fountain, or make the hike up the skyfrost nail to gaze upon the beauty of the unabating grey and white landscape again?

over time, even venti wavers and starts seeing what aether has seen in you. it is equal parts acceptance and desperation that drives him to you, to the one Your faithful traveler has placed his belief in, to feel Your embrace again, even if it can never be the same as it once was. he survived thousands of years without Your grace, to fold for it now that he knows what Your benevolence feels like is nothing short of shameful. the thought gnaws at him all the while until it has consumed him whole. in the end, he has not grown at all; still that little wind spirit desperate to not lose another he holds close. somehow, when you hold him, he can't seem to mind.

while the two of them have never discussed the matter of You explicitly, aether is perceptive enough to realise zhongli is one of the most reverent of the whole… of any of Your vessels. you called them cast without thinking the other day, whatever that meant. of Your cast. so he goes to him next, telling him that You've made Your way to this world permanently, that he's found You. his first instinct is anger, anger at your lying, anger that aether, who You have blessed with Your presence more than anyone else, who You picked as Your primary vessel, would fall for such mockery. aether was astute to not bring you along when he announced this, or perhaps you knew and chose not to yourself. it matters not. he knows he has proven himself to You, that the real You would never hesitate to reveal Yourself to him. instead of expression his righteous fury, he does his utmost to reign it in. if anything, this works in his favour. he almost feels sorry for aether, wrapped so tightly around the pinkie of a fraud.

upon meeting you properly, he realises perhaps he misunderstood the situation a little. zhongli isn't a fool (when he's not blinded by momentary rage, at least), he can see how uncomfortable you are with the whole situation. while you are not blameless for continuing this facade, aether has deluded himself and cast You aside entirely on his own—and when You finally grace them with Your real presence, zhongli is certain aether will be the first to fall from Your grace. that drunkard too, falling into temptation out of loneliness like that, will get what's coming to him.

until then, all he needs to do is keep his distance and stay as he is, as Your most loyal and dedicated devotee. until then, all he needs to do is send the two of you off. there is no need for him to get violent, not when Your punishment will hurt aether all the more. he thought he was long past such childish emotions, but he supposes that even now You breathe new vigor into him.

you shy either away from visiting inazuma entirely. seeing how the previous archons have reacted to you, you have little doubt that the raiden shogun would be the first to get violent. it's a dilemma you would rather avoid altogether, if possible. just in case. maybe your worry is misplaced, but… aether, of course, can never deny You, and the raiden shogun, of course, would meet your expectations without a proper thought.

the puppet has learned since, but much of the framework of logic she used to enact the vision hunt decree and rule over inazuma in the past several hundred years remains and is hard to completely make away with in such a short amount of time. imposing ei's will on a whole nation is wrong, but arresting and doing away with someone making a ridicule of You is a completely different thing. ei remains a little more hesitant, but even she cannot bring herself to completely disagree. You are the pinnacle of eternity, of control, of life—for some mere human to be impersonating You is unacceptable. hearing the traveler, Your closest companion, has put his trust in you would give her a bit of pause. he was right last time, so maybe this time as well… but then it was You who was right through him, not him in and of himself.

ultimately, your instincts would have turned out to be correct, and she buries herself in her plane once again, leaving the shogun to continue cleaning up inazuma. on her own, she imagines herself meeting You—the true You—and what it would be like to welcome you to her nation in earnest. she wonders if You would be proud of her.

nahida knows You immediately. she is the archon of wisdom, and weak as she may be, that title is not for nothing. your presence feels a bit differently from how it did when there was much more distance between You and her, but it pushes and pulls in a similar way. she doesn't feel she needs to, but should it come to it, she could always take a quick peek at your thoughts… and she would just get confirmation that she was right from the start. now that she's free—largely by virtue of You and the traveler—her word has much more weight than before. sumeru will always welcome You with open arms. if you prefer to live more privately, she understands that. but know that you can always come to her. for anything. she really, really means it.

it's only a small, selfish part of her, and she doesn't like thinking this way or how the other archons, the ones who should recognise You right away, are treating you, but a tiny part of her deep down finds herself feeling almost proud that she's the only one to recognise your grace. whenever you're around, she finds herself spending all of her free time with you. she wants to hear everything—your thoughts, your opinions, which weather or meal or nation you like better, your experiences, your home world, what it was like handling your vessels, everything and anything you deem fit to share with her. from how you indulge her, she's glad she also seems to bring you a similar comfort to the one You give her.

she wonders if Your embrace feels similar to when she possesses others' bodies. the warmth and absolute serenity that overtakes all of her senses when You control her can't compare to anything else. it's nice to be in at the helm of herself too, of course, especially with her newfound autonomy. but if You were to offer her that comfort permanently, she wouldn't be able to turn down Your offer.

when furina looks at you, she sees a reflection of herself. she might not recognise You, but she cannot bring herself to disdain someone in such a similar position to herself. she cannot imagine that You, kind and benevolent and goodhearted as You are, would want her to be cruel to you. whether that is her genuine belief or an attempt to redeem herself to You, after deceiving not only Your vessel but also You directly, does it matter?

Your presence has been a fairly recent entrance in her life, but she has been hearing about You for hundreds of years. she cannot remember a single conversation she ever had with her mirror self that did not feature You as a point of dialogue, of ambition. with only her and You to cling onto for hope for five hundred years, the only natural outcome was to develop such a strong faith and dependence on You. perhaps not as fervent as some of the other… archons, but not something that should be underestimated. Your presence in fontaine, even if through the traveler, had given her renewed hope at the time. as soon as she saw him for the first time, she knew.

your presence is… completely different. there's hints of You—likely residue You've left in the traveler—but not much else. she cannot believe in false idols, she tells the two of you, but she will see about providing some lodging for you. even if the traveler—even if aether is wrong about this, his service to fontaine deserves some merit, so she's sure this can be overlooked. it's what You would want, she hopes to herself. and if she finds herself seeking you out more and more, what difference does it make? when you smile so sweetly at her and praise her for holding on for so long, that you're proud of her, her resolve cracks.

neuvillette has always known of You. it is only when the traveler shows up in fontaine with Your presence in tow that he understands with certainty that You do exist, that he truly understands how wonderful Your warmth feels even at a distance and in these circumstances. You take Your leave for a while, and he thinks he is alright with that. even just knowing Your comfort so intimately (because this is already so much more than most are permitted), however brief, is enough for him. perhaps his returned authority also has an impact, but he is certain it would not have felt this invigorating without Your help.

and then You return, and he finds himself actually understanding what it means to be embraced. no sooner is he experiencing what it feels like to be whole for the first time before he finds himself in sumeru's desert, where he remains stranded for a week. Your presence fades until his punishment—for what, he remains uncertain—is complete, but Your hold on him does not, and something keeps him in place there the entire time. You do not use him much after that. he cannot deny Your judgement, even if he does not quite understand.

he learns of your arrival in teyvat through chance, by way of some opera gossip which happens to mention that furina has found herself a close friend. when he catches a glimpse of you… he cannot say he feels Your presence. none of you breathe a word about the subject to him, and it is only much later he learns of what you're hiding. if Your every loyal furina and Your first and most important vessel recognised You when he did not even so much as suspect it, where does that leave him?

of course childe would recognise You. that piece of the abyss that clawed its way into him so deeply it will never separate from him again would recognise You anywhere, even should ajax not. long before your current descent, he recognised Your strings of control much earlier than most of Your other vessels did. while he's never really given much thought to whether others have recognised You as well, he noticed the way Your presence lingered on aether in particular right away.

it's part of what drew him to the traveler in the first place—what's so special about him? why not childe? why did this outlander get to be Your vessel and he didn't? has he not proven himself enough for You? his mission aside, he felt a more personal disdain at the traveler. after he embarrassed himself in front of You and the truth came to light, he tries his hardest to redeem himself to the traveler. to You. so, naturally, when Your favourite little traveler comes to him with You in tow, he recognises You right away, as he always has. he's a little bitter, if anything—why did it take aether so long to come to him? does he not trust him? is he controlling You and Your actions? or—and he tries not to think about this too hard—is it You who doesn't trust him?

it doesn't matter. You're here now, and he's here for You now, and he'll do everything in his power to help You. You won't have to be alone any more, he promises, You won't have to hurt any more. nobody will harm You, ever again, not when he's here now. (he ignores how aether has easily stopped any harm from coming Your way so far without his help.)

it is you who thinks to approach albedo. the link is weak, but as soon as aether shows up at his makeshift lab in dragonspine with You in tow, he knows. it's as if he has no other option than to recognise You, however faint Your aura has become, as if there was never another possibility. it makes sense—after all, he was made for You. so were all the others, in a way, as was the whole world of teyvat, but not in the same way his master crafted him for You. to appeal to You. to be used by You. to find out the truth about You, though it's possible she just left him with that mission (to find out the truth about "the world"—You are the world) to keep him busy after she threw him away when he did not yield the results she was searching for. it doesn't matter. he's found You now, and he can't let you slip away. especially not to Your other, faulty vessels, those who couldn't recognise You at first glance.

thankfully, you seem fond of the area of the mountain and don't mind staying. you even take interest in his work, though you seem to not enjoy the constant sketches and pieces of art he produces of You for you as much. it's not the same as when You fill every molecule in his body and bend it to Your whim, but this is also nice.

one day you ask him about alice; she's been to different worlds, so you wonder if he could ask her about her methods. you seem hesitant, and you waited specifically until aether had left to collect some food for the next couple of days. it's a logical choice, Your favourite vessel would not take Your request well. albedo can't find it in himself to either. even if it's you asking, he cannot just let You leave, not after all this time. he promises you he will ask, but is honest when he tells you alice might take a long, long time to pass by mondstadt again, so… in the meantime, let him know if there's anything he could do to make Your stay here in teyvat more comfortable. anything at all. You're going to be here for some time, after all.

they're so quiet. the only thing you can hear is their soft breath, maintaining a constant rhythm. they generally prefer to bury their head in your shoulder, but they're content just laying next to you. they're so easy to sleep next to. they probably completely shut off while they're asleep?? you will not feel a single thing. no water necessary. no bathroom breaks. they save feeling sick until the morning. in addition, a kiss on the forehead is the last thing you see before you fall asleep and the first when you wake up in the morning. all in all, they're super sweet—maybe, in a way, pretty old-fashioned. i give a 100/10.

SO touchy. literally can't go more than ten seconds not being next to you. probably have a quiet, whispered conversation with you before bed—about anything at all. it's mostly to distract from the fact that they're feeling you up, but they still listen to every word you say. they mumble replies with a teasing voice as their fingers dance up your back, resting at your shoulder. nuzzling their head in your neck while lightly kissing you there. (maybe biting if they're into that...) if you want to get up to get water, they probably make you stay where you are so you stay comfy. they'll do everything for you. you want a massage at 3 in the morning? go ahead, ask. they won't refuse.

LOUD. that's all you really need to know—but you can barely sleep. it's like they don't need it. they'll stay up for hours on their phones, talking about the videos they're watching, what they did—anything at all that they can think of. you'd believe they'll eventually get tired and toss in the towel, but they could pull 10 all-nighters in a row if it meant you'd listen the whole time. other than that, they're usually pretty cuddly. They'll grab onto your arms and scrunch into a ball position, their knees nearly at their chest. They'll probably talk to you like that until they realized you've dozed off. Once they do, they kiss you on the nose and cuddle against you, letting out an unbelievably loud sigh. almost comically so. (it might wake you up and you'd have to fall asleep all over again...)

sarcastic and mean. can you even get more mean than these guys?? they (lovingly) insult and tease you before dragging you into the bed, tightly holding you against them. they'll most likely hold the back of your head by tangling their fingers in your hair, keeping you steady against their chest. to hear their breathing. they might give you a kiss on the forehead if you get lucky. if you decide to tease them by refusing this kiss, they'll probably spread their limbs across the bed to make sure you've got no room, and that you'll have to climb on top of them to be able to lay down comfortably. that's better than a kiss, in their opinion. you're wide open for sarcasm, teasing, and letting them be the meanies they are.

Genshin Impact Self Aware – Your sadness  

They miss you. For past week you have been login into the game only to do commissions and changing Resin into Condensed one (or quickly doing domains or Ley Lines if you already had 5 of them). They hoped that with the new regions of Fontaine you will be playing more, you will take them to get chests, do puzzles, find Oculi and enjoy the scenery like always. But no, you didn’t even unlocked all the new waypoints, only two or three, so they couldn’t help but wonder "Are you getting tired of them?"

They tried to be patient but the more time passed the more they were feeling worried. Till that one day you logged and they could hear you talking to them like sometimes you did before. “Finally we can go check those new places, right?” The team you were using lately was happy, but they couldn’t do anything that would make you aware that they are conscious about you and this ‘world’, so they had to contain their smiles after hearing your voice.

And yet, the more you were looking around with them and fight the enemies the more silent you become again, till you stopped moving them at some point. They wondered if you left for moment to bring food or something to drink but then they heard it. Your muffled sobs “What happened? Why are you crying? Did you get hurt? ” those questions were swarming in their heads and they couldn’t do anything. Through your sobs they could hear “I can’t stop thinking about it” What are you thinking about? If only they could do something for you, comfort you, tell that everything will be alright. But they can’t. No matter how much they love you. They can’t do anything for you.

You took them to a safe place, mumbling that you didn't feel like playing anymore and logged off. They are alone again, knowing that you’re sad.

Maybe it’s really time to try bring you here, where they will be able to protect you and make you smile every day.

“G’night, Eomer!” Shouted another sailor

After what felt like a century of silence you heard a knock on your crate

Knock-knock-knock…knock-knock

The series of knocks were a signal that the coast was clear and it was okay for you get out of your wooden prison, you carefully lifted the top off the crate and were greeted by the faces of the twins, Paimon, and Childe

Aether and Lumine helped you out of your crate and finally getting the chance to stretch your arms and legs felt soooo good. You turned to look towards your companions to see them comfortable on the floor and so you sat next to Lumine

“Damn it felt like forever, I didn’t think that it would feel that long considering the time dilation.” You said mostly to yourself

“Time dilation, what do you mean by that?” Paimon questioned

“Oh, you know how we can travel together without taking any breaks for days at a time? That’s because compared to my world, Teyvat runs a lot faster than mine.” You nervously explained, trying to not raise your voice above a whisper

“Speaking of your world, Paimon’s curious on what’s it like.”

“My world… it’s very advanced compared to Teyvat, there are many modern marvels. Like you can talk to someone on the other side of the globe within seconds!” You explained which lead you to explaining more about various technology, you tried to keep things as basic as possible and tried not to reveal too much in fear it might fuck with their world view. During your mini lecture you learned that Fontaine is more advanced than the rest of Teyvat. You made a mental note to visit the nation of hydro first when all of this imposter stuff has ended

“Hey, do you know how you ended up in Teyvat?” Childe asked

“Oh that’s easy, I…”

How did you end up here?

Scouring your mind to find at least a hint of how and why you ended up in another world, a fantasy world no less, but you can’t find anything

You begin to break out in a cold sweat and grab the sides of your head

“I-I don’t remember!”

Tears start to fall down your face, your breath becomes more intense and your body begins to shake. Lumine rushes to comfort you before your mental breakdown gets any worse

“It’s okay! It’s okay! Take deep breaths with me!” Lumine began to breathe in and out but you were too anxious to even pay attention to her

From your blurred vision you spotted a trail of sparkles fly in front of of you

“Uh! Your Grace! One time Paimon dreamt that she was a slime and she was captured and was cooked by Xiangling!”

“What…? Why did that dream end so tragically?” You acknowledge her

“Because slimes are monsters even though they look cute, they usually cause trouble and end up getting killed by adventurers!” The little fairy explained

“That’s odd, but that reminds me back in my world we have all different types of interpretations for dreams. Though I don’t exactly know what turning into a monster means, it might be that you done something bad to someone.” You interpreted, feeling your anxiety quickly wash away

“No way! Paimon would never do anything bad to anyone to be considered a monster!”

“I don’t know, but maybe my world’s interpretations of dream don’t apply to Teyvat’s.” You closed and realized that you’re out of your mental spiral, turning to the floating girl. “Thank you for pulling me out of that darkness, Paimon.” You smiled

“Oh it’s nothing, just doing what I can.”

You leaned against one of the many crates and noticed the apologetic look on the harbinger’s pale features

“Hey, it’s okay. You didn’t know that your question would give me so much anxiety. I still don’t know how or why I ended up in Teyvat, but hopefully I will come to understand the reason.”

“Perphaps we should spend the time on something other than their Grace’s home.” Aether said, his discontent for the Harbinger still evident on his face

“Yeah, let’s play some tcg.” Lumine suggested possibly feeling the tension between her brother and Childe

The night went by relatively fast when you all were playing the game, Aether didn’t know how to play but after you and Lumine explained the rules to him he got the hang of the game fairly quickly. You were having so much fun you didn’t realize when you fell asleep until you woke up a few hours later. Finally having the time to yourself you take out the flower you were given to by the Aranaras and began to concentrate on it, slowly your surroundings started to blur into white and your eyes felt heavy, so heavy that you had to close them

When you open your eyes to see yourself in a grassy field, you look down to see that you’re wearing white flowy robes and your arms are covered in bandages. Checking your legs you also see that they’re covered in bandages, just what happened to you?

“Uhh excuse me?” A small voice called out and you turned to see it came from a small child no older than 7. In their hand there’s a little flower that has just been plucked from the ground, they hold the flower out for you to take. “Please feel better, your Grace!”

You knelt down and take the flower, it was small in your hands

“Thank you…” You smiled at the kid who smiled back brightly

“Your Grace!” A deep voice spooks the child causing them to run away from you, you watched as they disappeared behind a nearby tree. You stood up to see it came from the familiar faces of Zhongli and Guizhong, they quickly caught up with you and checked you to see if you had possibly reopened your wounds

“I’m fine you two, you don’t have to make a big fuss about it.” You said

“But it’s too early for you be outside, you could overexert yourself before you’re truly healed.” Guizhong warned

“Haagentus is right, we almost lost you in that battle we don’t want to lose you to a possible infection.” Morax warned

“You two are right, it was just getting a bit cramped in my chambers. However before we go, what is you opinion on humans?”

“I like them, such fascinating creatures.” Guizhong, or Haagentus answered

“I’m impartial to them.” Morax said

“I think that they’re amazing, beings able to change and grow.” You started. “I know that might sound silly, but think about it. Coming into this world with the inability to even sit up they soon learn to do things. Everyday they learn about the world around them. Just the ability to find your own path, unlike me…” The two gods look at you with confused expressions. “If I ever get the chance, I would want to be reborn as a human. Just to experience what it’s like from their perspective and learn what it truly mean to grow as a person. I never got to experience that…”

“Please, your Grace, don’t stay that.” Guizhong pleaded as she looked like she was on the verge of tears

“I don’t mean to make you upset, Haagentus, but there will be a day that I’m no here anymore and I just hope that you all are okay in my absence.” You said and the scene started to fade into whiteness as you felt someone shaking you, the sorrowful faces of the two gods is the last thing you see before you open your eyes to see a worried Aether in front of you

“Your Grace, are you alright? You were crying.”

You reach up to touch your face and felt tears you hadn’t noticed streaming down your face, you quickly wiped the tears off of your face

“Ye-yeah, I’m fine, just… just was reliving a memory.” Aether looked at the flower in your hand and instantly understood what was going on.

“Hey Aether, do you mind if I asked you a question?”

“Anything for you your Grace.”

“Do you know anything about me, like creator me, before my death?”

“Me and Lumine reach Teyvat long after your death, but I heard many stories of you. You were a courageous deity who had a love for humanity, treated gods and humans the same.” Aether had a look of fondness as he went on about creator you

This isn’t what you were looking for and so you pivoted the conversation towards something else, something that you were curious about ever since you started playing the game

“Aether, what was your home like and why did you leave?”

He stoped before answering your question. “It was beautiful, I remember playing with Lumine in the lush fields.” A pained expression crosses Aether’s face before he continues. “But it was destroyed in a war, we were lucky to escape just in time but many others weren’t so fortunate. Ever since then me and Lumine have been trying to find a place to call home but it hasn’t been successful.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.” You expended your hand out towards the blond. “When this is over and done with, would you and Lumine like Teyvat to be your new home?”

Aether looked shocked before giving you a warm smile and taking your hand in his

“Yes, I would love that, your Grace.”

The two of you stayed like that for a moment until you both heard the door to the room you all were in open

There a rugged sailor entered the room and stopped when he spotted your sleeping companions until his eyes finally landed on your terrified form

“Stowaways in the hold!” The sailor screamed before running back up into the deck

Lumine, Paimon and Childe were awoken by the yelling and looked around frantically

“We were spotted, we need to leave.” Aether yelled out and the three instantly nodded their heads

Childe grabbed your wrist and ran out of the hold with the twins and Paimon and onto the deck, there you saw the same sailor ringing the giant bell while yelling. “The imposter is on the ship!”

Other sailors groggily walked out of their quarters and all tiredness disappearing when they saw all of you

“We have to jump!” Childe said and the twins nodded their heads

All of you jumped off the boat.“Freeze!” The twins yelled out before creating ice bridge

You had a rough landing but the adrenaline keeps you pushing. The twins went in front to extend the bridge

“Aim! Fire!!” To your horror you see multiple arrows flying towards you before they were cut down by a blade of water

You turned towards the ginger to see it was him who had his hydro blade in his hand

“C’mon!”

You continued to run along the ice bridge and tried your damnedest to not slip on it. You felt your breath become more labored, your anxiety spikes

You kept pushing and pushing, against your better judgement your head to see sailors jumping onto the ice bridge, you extended your hand and blasted fire at the part of the ice bridge you just past

You turned your head to see a piece of land and thinking you’re home free you don’t feel a rope wrap itself around your ankle. Before you could reach dry land your leg is pulled out from under you and you fall ont the ice with a loud thud

Your companions turned towards the sound to see you on the floor. The twins saw the rope tied around your ankle and followed the string to the sailor who was holding it. Lumine dashed towards you, running with all her might she extends her hand for you to take it. Tears swelled up in your eyes and you began to feel the ice bridge shaking until it started shaking violently.

You turned towards the sailors and the boat to see them overtaken by the violent waves. You turned your head back towards Lumine, but before you could grab onto her hand the waves drag you and your companions down into the depths

You tried to swim up to the surface but no matter how much you struggled against them the waves tossed you around, resulting in you to kept sinking

Before you lost consciousness you were pulled out and harshly pushed onto the metal floor of another boat

When you finally get your bearings you come face to face with the barrel of a gun

“Put your hands up.” Said a purple haired girl wearing an eyepatch and large hat. “You are under arrest, for the impersonation of their divine Holiness!”

You groaned. "What the fuck. They seriously locked me inside my own fucking room? Paimon, you little mf."

Let's just say that Paimon and Jean decided that you should return back since your anemo energy was pretty much depleted. Were you annoyed? Yeah. You seriously wanted to cook some emergency food.

Hell, Aether was like, "Y/N, stay there ok? You'll get kidnapped or some shit." Aaaand he locked the fucking door.

"Blub Blub." Bob and Bobetta stared at you confused. 

"Hush. It's not like ya'll can help me open the-... BOBETTA?!" You screeched.

Bobetta's innocent eyes blinked. She didn't look so innocent next to what's left of the door though.

You gaped at the ashes. "YOU BURNED DOWN THE FUCKING DOOR?"

"I-I- Oh whatever, you're a fucking pyro slime. The fuck was I expecting?" You pressed your temples. 

"Bob, Bobetta, come on, I seriously need to spend some money right now."

"So? It's not the first Apocalypse themed world. It's always zombies, or shitty weather, or both, or some, I don't know, random ass supernatural shit." Yvonne muttered.

"We can just throw some surveillance cameras around the city. I'd much rather lounge at home you know?"

Lorelie poked your face. "When is Y/N going to wake up? It's my first time seeing a person inside a contaminated world get picked to become a player you know? Hopefully she doesn't die in Teyvat. That wouldn't be very fun."

"It's probably a system bug. I mean, I've never seen a player that's originally from a contaminated world and their original body didn't go with them to their assigned world. That's like- eughhh." Yvonne checked your pulse. "She's still alive at least. Time passes differently in each world, she might stop breathing any second you know?"

"You're talking as if we're gonna let her die." Lorelei grumbled, closing the door behind her. 

"You guys had to choose this place? I got fucking lost trying to find it."

"What? I'm not going to pick a place near the city center. What if it's a zombie apocalyptic world? They're ugly and smelly lil shits." Yeleris hissed. 

"Eugh. You and your stupid OCD shit."

"Blub Blub?"

Bob spewed cold air all over your face. "Blub blub blub?" You hissed holding your head. For a second, you swore that you heard the voices of your dorm mates. 

"Are you ok pretty sister?" Klee asked. Her large eyes staring into yours. 

"Yeah... Wait! What are you doing here?"

"Ehehe Klee couldn't resist fish bombing. Aaaand, big brother Kaeya saw me so Klee ran away..."

You raised a brow, "Klee, there's barely any fish left. Do you know how mad Jean is going to be?" 

Klee rubbed her little hands, "Klee...Aha! Klee will say that it's the water thingies that killed the fish!"

"...Whatever make you happy Klee. Aren't you going to find Albedo?" You asked, not noticing the male.

Klee sighed softly, "Albedo is experimenting with the sample you gave Jean. He wouldn't let me play with him. Klee is sooo boreeeddd..." She hugged your waist. "Big sister Y/N, can we please g play? Pleasssse. Klee will make you some Dodocos! We can match!" 

Rubbing her fluffy hair, you nodded. "Klee, do you want to help me with farming?"

The loli tilted her head, "Farm? Big sister farms? Like, plants?"

"No Klee. I mean artifact farming."

"Arty- facts? Hmmmm, it's those trinkets right?! Klee has quite a few! Klee can give you some!" Just like that, a bunch of five-star artifacts appeared in her arms. 

"Big sister can take everything!" Klee giggled at your dumbfounded expression.

You breathed in and out slowly, opening your mouth hesitantly. "K-Klee. Did you farm these yourself or was it one of your big sisters and brothers?"

Klee blinked. "Oh! Klee was testing out one of Klee's new prototypes and big brother Albedo told Klee to go into a- umm, doymin, ummm, domain! We were in Liyue gathering materials for his potions so Klee went to the nearest domain. I think it's called the Domain of Blessing? Yeah! There were lots of pyro slimes so Albedo had to help me out with that one. Klee has also done a lot of other domains but the arty-facts there aren't as good so Klee just gives them away as presents!"

"W-well, Klee, do you want to go with me to farm artifacts?"

"Sure!!! Will Bob and Bobetta come with us?!" 

"Yeah... Why not...". You needed Bob to help defeat the pyro slimes, Bobetta being a pyro slime could probably also help confuse the slimes.

"Klee, are you absolutely sure you want to try this level?" You gaped as the girl hopped to the lvl 90 door. 

"It's fine big sister! Klee has done it sooo many times with big sister Sucrose!" She laughed. "My Hydro version of Dodoco was created with the help of Sucrose after fighting the pyro slimes! Klee couldn't do anything with the pyro Dodoco!"

"Wait- you have a hydro version of Dodoco?" You raised a brow. If Klee could create different types of bombs, Klee's overall power would be increased significantly, perhaps she could become the second Alice.

"Yeah! Klee also has a cryo and geo version. Klee will create more versions if big brother Albedo and big sister Jean allows!"

You nodded, "Let's go Klee."

And with that, the two of you were sucked into the darkness. How could you describe it? It's like someone being in a vacuum, except it didn't feel uncomfortable, in contrast, it felt quite nice.

"There you are!" Klee smiled happily, handing you a blue Dodoco. "Hi Bobetta! Hi Bob! Klee would give you one too but there's not a lot. Klee will give you some next time we go arty-fact farming!"

She snickered softly at your awed gaze. "It's your first time in an arty-fact domain right! It's really beautiful! Klee was sooo surprised on her first time too! You see that big red key in the middle of the platform? Just put your hand on it! The slimes will spawn after a few seconds. Just in time for Klee to place the Dodocos!"

It didn't take too long for you to truly acknowledge just how overpowered Klee is. 

"BLUB BLUB BLUB BLUBBB!" Bob and Bobetta screeched. Their normal blub blubs were gone, the high pitched blubs that came out of their... mouths? Yeah, never heard of. From their animated expressions, you could see just how shaken they were.

What happened a few seconds before was that the moment the pyro slimes showed up, the hydro Dodocos exploded, so now, there's a bunch of slime fragments littered everywhere.

"BLUUUUB BLUUUUB." Bobetta shrieked as Klee scooped her up out of curiosity. No wonder, you would be scared to death if you saw a bunch of humans explode right in front of you and the person that caused it casually scoops you up.

"Wooowwww, Klee never knew slimes could make this expression. It's so cute!" Her eyes turned into crescent moons, squishing the orange blob.

Bob bounced behind you, his eyes gazing fearfully at Klee. "BLUB!" Bobetta's eyes welled with tears, staring into yours. If slimes could talk Bobetta would probably be cussing and screaming to get out of Klee's arms.

"Klee sweetie, let's go get the artifacts." you said sighing, plucking the teary eyed Bobetta out of her arms.

"Awwww, ok!"

"...You are fuc- Fudging kidding me. YOU GOT ALL CRITS AND I GET DEFS? KLEE I DEMAND ANOTHER ROUND. AND YOU GOT TWO FIVE- STARS? WHAT?!"

snowball pelters. as soon as you step outside, you're getting a load of freshly balled up snow—the powder having been turned into an extremely dense sphere—straight to your face. if that's not enough, you'll get some down your back, too. oh, how they just love to see your face cringe out of frigidity, squeezing your eyes shut and mouth so eager to speak, yet being unable to get a single word out. they'll laugh with no shame and taunt you, so your only choice is to take a snow shovel and bury them. see how confident they are then, being completely submerged in the white powder. they'll curse you under their breath (lovingly) and follow you around all day, refusing to not torment you by tossing messily made snowballs at you.

snowman makers. they are the most adorable beings you'll ever see. so concentrated on getting the proportions of the snowmen right, even if they're not the best at it. they look at others' snowmen and get concerned that their own may be a little... unsteady. meaning, the head was too large for the body and was constantly falling over and destroying itself. with a frown, they'd be determined to get it back up on their own, (politely) refusing help. once they get the snowman to hold up long enough for them to go find some sticks, you'd fix it up for them. taking a little bit of snow off the top, adding it to the lower half, and reinforcing the bottom with some rocks covered in snow. once they come back with arms for the snowman, you innocently smile, sitting down in the snow as they eye you suspiciously, but smile and pat you on the head. do they know? ...you can't be sure.

XIAO, gorou, furina, kazuha, KOKOMI, albedo, collei, shenhe, ayaka, TIGHNARI, nilou, ganyu

hot chocolate drinkers. they cozily sit inside, watching their favorite re-runs as they sit on the couch. they watch the people freezing outside with a smug look, lazing around and doing absolutely nothing, wrapped in the largest blankets they could find. this is their... fourth? fifth cup of cocoa, and the bag of mini marshmallows they take from is quickly shrinking. honestly, they feel like a teddy bear with how warm they are. you've got no clue how they're not sweating and dying from the heat. their smirk makes you want to toss them out into the snow and watch them suffer, but they suffer enough when they accidentally spill burning hot cocoa on themselves.

driveway shovelers. they are stuck outside all day, working on clearing the asphalt of snow. it's almost hopeless—the snow doesn't stop, so any of the driveway that gets cleared is covered again in only minutes (it's so tired...) and all that you're left with is someone who's extremely close to face-planting in the snow. honestly, they're probably hoping to get hypothermia—at least it'll put them out of their misery. but them, being the hard workers that they are, miraculously manage to finish shoveling, and join the hot chocolate drinkers after their time in hell, collapsing on the couch (and probably falling asleep).

hill sledders. they'll bust through the door at the first speck of light, holding anything that they could safely use as a sled. honestly, they would sled on a shoveled pile of snow if there wasn't a hill, but they're determined to find a good place to sled. so, they'll drag you along, running around until you can spot some type of slope that'll get you faster than 1 inch per second. once you do, they're so excited they'd probably forget the sled on the way up. so, you're stranded at the top while they carefully slide back down to retrieve the sled. by the time they get back to the top, you're already unimpressed, but they manage to cheer you up. they sit you on the sled and push you down, hopping behind you and holding you tight. cause if they weren't, you probably would've been found sticking out of the nearby heaps of snow.

You try not to panic. When you woke up you were greeted by blue sky and not by ceiling of your room. You were lying on the grass and when you sat up, you felt the breeze caressing your skin. You wanted to think that this is a dream, but you can feel too much for to be it. The texture of grass, the cold breeze, the smell of some flowers and trees, the sounds of birds and other animals.

But how did you end up here? Looking around you feel like you do recognize this place but you’re not sure from where.
