For my past birthdays, I've chosen to travel solo and celebrate it alone. Back in 2017 I went to Crystal Beach in Zambales and spent an overnight trip there. It was a first for me, my first time to travel solo and I've been traveling solo ever since exploring new places. In 2018, my chosen destination to celebrate was in La Union and I just spent my whole stay there relaxing, sleeping, eating and going surfing. Last year, I was suppose to go on my first solo out of the country trip. I've booked a flight going to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia for my birthday. But for some reason, my flight got cancelled. And I was just about to start on my new job back then so I decided to just get a refund instead of re-booking it. I didn't do anything for my birthday at the time, no celebration whatsoever, it was just a normal day. Birthdays have always been my favorite occasion and part of the year. It's something I have always looked forward to and I try to make it special as much, in my own ways. And this year was no different. So here is a short video to sum up all my kaartehans in life. Hahaha jk. I wanted to commemorate and document that day so I requested him to make me a cinematic video vlog. Thank you love for this!! 💖 Planning to shoot as well and make more of this on my/our future travels so feel free to subscribe. Also posting a written blog so watch out for it!

Tayo na sa Antipolo!
The summer isn’t complete without the sun and the beach. But for some of us who are not blessed with the luxury of time, going somewhere near the city will definitely do the trick. So me and my BO have decided to pack our bags and head to Antipolo City for a refreshing weekend getaway!
Antipolo City is located in the province of Rizal. Just about an hour away from the noise of the city.
I wanted our very short trip to be meaningful so I decided to make an itenerary to be able to explore Antipolo City and have a relaxing weekend.
Tumblr media
Since I’ll be coming from Bulacan and my BO will be coming from work in QC, we decided to meet in QC and travel to Antipolo via Grab which cost us roughly 300 pesos. Lucky us because its a weekend! But there are alternate routes going to Antipolo that are also way budget friendly.
We arrived at Antipolo City and dropped-off near the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. Since its a Sunday, heavy traffic is expected at this place due to many devotees who come here. Since we arrived earlier than expected we had our breakfast first prior to attending the Sunday mass.

After attending the sunday mass we started to get back on our tracks and travel our way to Hinulugang Taktak.
Hinulugang taktak is a famous spot in Antipolo. You can watch the mesmerizing waterfall upclose. There are different activities such as picnic areas and a public pool that you can enjoy for a minimal fee. It can be a good alternative weekend activity if you are on a budget.

We stayed here for about an hour. Enjoying the view, taking photos and some videos. After which we headed to Pinto Art museum.
Rizal province is also famous because its a home of artist and Pinto art museum features art works by various artists. Aside from that, you’ll definitely fall in love with the luxurious landscape of this place. If you are into Instagram then this should be part of your bucket list.

Ducati Bike and wire sculpture. Owned by Alex Lietz and wire sculpture by Alab Pagarigan.
Fall in love with art and landscape. I recommend wearing your comfy clothes as you rome around especially if you are going during summer. I gave this place five stars. Definitely worth your time and money.
So we are on our last stop, Luljetta’s Hanging Garden Resort and SPA. its a summer vacation so we are already expecting tons of visitors but its a Sunday most of them are on the way back to their work the next day. Since we opt to stay over night we are to enjoy the place with less people by Monday.

Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and SPA is really a keeper. This place definitely captured our hearts. Its beautifully relaxing and enjoyable.
Expenses:
Here are our expenses. I won’t be including meals because we ate alot.
Grab from QC to Antipolo: 325 php
Tricycle to Hinulugang Taktak: 50 php
Hinulugang taktak entrance fee: 30 php each for adults
Tricycle to Pinto Art Museum: 60 php
Entrance to Pinto Art Museum: 200 each for adults
Tricycle to Luljetta’s: 60 php
Entrance to Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens: 990 php each (because we have an accomodation). Their regular day tour is 1150 php.
Luljetta’s resort accommodation: 3800 php (good for two with free breakfast). It got this rate because of a travel voucher. Their regular room rate is 4500 php.
Grab back to QC: 450 php
Tips:
Research on the places you want to go. There are lots of other tourist spots in Antipolo. You might want to explore more so do your research.
Create your personal itenerary that you’ll feel free to follow. This can serve as a guide for you. You can also save on travel time and expenses in going back and forth.
At Hinulugang Taktak : If you are not in a hurry and you are early, you can bring food and rent a picnic table here.
At Pinto Art Museum : I suggest you take your meals prior to going here because their Cafe is a bit in the high end budget.
At Luljetta’s : if you can’t afford the overnight accommodation, their day tour is already a winner. Just be there early to maximize the use of their facilities.
Rating:
Hinulugang Taktak: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pinto Art Museum: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and SPA : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Traveling for just about an hour from the city, Antipolo is so worth the time. We have already planned to go back and bring our family with us.
P. S.: I’m planning to post a more thorough review of Pinto art museum and Luljetta’s Hanging Garden Resort and SPA on my next blogs.

AND I WANT TO SEE YOU WITH MY EYES BUT I SEE YOU IN THE FIREFLIES
I am very particular when it comes to time and an error on my part on this matter certainly rocked my world.
My friend working in the UK messaged me saying that she is coming to town and wanted us to meet on the 22nd of November. I made a booking at Luljetta’s Hanging Garden Spa more than a month before she came. Two weeks before she arrived, I was convinced and was telling family and friends that I would file a leave on the 23rd to meet my friend.
I was even the one who planned that we would meet at Robinson’s Galleria at 9:30am and take Uber to Antipolo. I didn’t know what got into me but that was what I was thinking the whole time – my friend and I would meet on the 23rd.
Come 22nd. I went to work and was supposed to attend a meeting at 9:30am to take the minutes when I was told that the meeting was too serious and confidential and that only Board Members were to attend. I went back to my workstation and started working.
When I checked my phone at past 10, there were six missed calls and a message from my friend saying she was already in Galle. All the heat in my body went straight to my ear and saturated my head. What the heck is going on? I was screaming in my office and my co-workers were asking what happened. I was so shocked and couldn’t accept how stupid I’d gotten to forget the date.
To cut the awkward story short, I hurriedly hopped in an Uber without anything for the trip. In the car, I kept on thinking and asking God what lesson could I learn from the situation and how in the world did I forget the freaking date. (When I told my friend about the story though, she made me realize why it happened. Another story.)
My friend was so kind to wait for me patiently and she was even with her mom and another friend who were equally patient. She was wondering why I was late when she knew that I was always on time. I. HATE. LATE. And there I was. Not only late but totally forgotten the day of our getaway.
Sometimes spontaneous travels are the best.
I’ve been to Luljetta’s for the second time now and I love how its ambiance brings calmness and serenity to the body. There weren’t so many people which added to the relaxing feeling.
Two events happened on the morning of the 22nd and I am gathering all my thoughts so I can put it into writing. It’s incredibly amazing and I can’t wait to draft it! (If it didn’t get to this blog though that means it is drafted only in my notebook.)

Some snaps yesterday from my birthday weekend at Luljetta’s with the bb.  I was having one of the worst birthdays ever and things seemed to be not going well. Sobrang emotional ko and all and ugh idk. The night before palang parang sasabog na ako sa nafi-feel ko, I spent the first few minutes of my birthday crying. Tapos nung 23rd and 24th birthday ko I celebrated it alone by going on solo trips kasi happy place ko talaga beach so dun ako pumupunta. Last year naman I was suppose to go to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia which would be my first solo out of the country trip sana but my flight got cancelled and hindi na ako nag abala mag rebook kasi mag start na din ako nun sa new work ko so nirefund ko nalang yung ticket. And halos lahat ng birthdays ko ako nagpa-plan out so parang medyo na-feel bad ako for myself kasi I always make efforts for other people but nobody does it for me. And I just felt so alone and all and parang fuck totoo ba 26 na ako?!  And then nung Saturday nag order lang akong pizza para dito sa bahay tapos meron kaming seafood tray, and nag luto lang si mama ng beef brocolli tapos binilhan akong cake. Tapos ayun kahapon nag Luljetta’s kami ni Aleck. Kasi weeks before parang nag pa-plan out na ako saan kami pupunta tas sabi ko I wanted to take photos and requested him if he could make me a cinemetic birthday vlog. Parang showcasing lang the place ganon and me. Arte lang ba. Hahaha. I thought parang it would be kinda awkward, kasi we always talk sa messenger as in we would talk everyday. But last week, no calls / video calls at all, puro lang kami chat tapos super saglit lang. So kala ko ‘di pa kami masyado okay and was hoping na sana sa Sunday maging okay na uli lahat. But really, he wasn’t mad at me or anything. Masyado lang din kaming umikot sa us, na nakalimutan namin (well mostly ako) yung mga sarili namin. Parang without him there’s no me. So I appreciate yung time he gave me, so I can do other things on a day to day basis aside from us talking to each other.  It was a great day and I really had a good time with him. A well deserved break indeed. I actually missed this, writing. I don’t get to do it na often. Before I would always post something here, kahit slight kwento lang about anything. My thoughts, what’s going on in my life, work, and stuff. So yeah. I’ll try my best to write more often.

Luljetta's Hanging Garden & Spa: a quick escape from the city life
Luljetta’s Hanging Garden & Spa: a quick escape from the city life
Why do I always, always feel exhausted? Especially now that it’s almost 2020, I’m starting to feel super tired of 2019. I mean, can you finally end already? I took a moment and reflect on why I feel this way and how to help myself feel better again. Then a friend asked me if I could join them in a quick tour and spa experience at Luljetta’s, and even I wasn’t feeling very well and that I just…
