im leia but im 16 years old and i believe its partially bc in my canon leia is a lesbian and never was w han but lord, i could not connect less w tfa. i enjoy it as a star wars fan but that leia is not me. i struggle w connecting w older leia in (1)

(2) general and i just feel so weird about it. because i just differ so much from the movies. have you ever had experiences like this being 19 and luke?

Oh absolutely! The TFA canon and I have almost nothing alike. And, from the standpoint of a film student who is also a fan of Star Wars, not as great as it could have been. But that’s just me. 

I don’t connect much with TFA Luke, but I have a feeling that’s mostly because we’ve seen .05 seconds of him on screen. I have a feeling I know where the writers are going to take him, too - he’s going to be tired and sad and that spark that he had that saved the galaxy will be gone, because growing up means you lose all that inspired you, blah blah blah, and it’s going to be a terrible decision because it’s just not where Luke McFreaking Skywalker should be taken. 

When I was an old man, I was. Well, I would say “eccentric”. Ben says “annoying and embarrassing”. 

Growing up - even the three years between sixteen and nineteen - gives you a lot of perspective on life. There isn’t a moment where you go, “Oh, I’m an adult now, I feel things the way and adult does and can manage myself responsibly.” There is, however, a moment where you’re like “Shit, I’m the oldest person here and I have to take charge,” or “Oh dear, how the hell do I deposit a paycheck,” or even, “I hope I can make my father see the good in himself that’s been buried for so long, because my life - and the lives of my friends - depend on it.” You just stumble on through life and as you do more and learn more, you grow with it. 

As for my current age, I’d say the most disconnect I feel is having the hormonal levels of, well, a nineteen year-old. I haven’t been nineteen for a very long time, and when I had been that age as Luke, some real crap was going down (my aunt and uncle had been killed, I joined the Rebellion, I blew up the Death Star. Altogether a pretty eventful year). So I didn’t think too much about my emotions or boys or, like, things a nineteen year-old human would think of in this world? So that’s. Really weird. Not too much fun either. And it’s gotta be difficult for you, too, because you’re right in the middle of it! 

Luckily that time of my life should be relaxing soon. I’m not getting any taller (which SUCKS because I’m EVEN SHORTER NOW) so now it’s mostly my brain chemicals getting all settled in the right places. 

Anyways, sorry for all this word mush! I just talk a lot. Ben tells me I used to be like that as Luke, too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey there !I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling good lately. Make sure you’re taking care of your body though. Make sure you’re getting the sleep, food, and water you need. Maybe try doing something new to see if it can cheer you up, even for just an hour or two?

You went through some serious hardships when you were younger, and you still came out of them as a good and kind hearted human being. You never let the darkness in your life take hold of your heart, and that is very admirable, and it shows just how strong you are. You can pull through anything and come out ok and you fight for what’s right.
