#Characters:

*SOPHIE MITCHELL (21 yr old) - A short girl who is as free- spirit as she can be, full of life and innocence. She describes herself " like a lemon starburst, sweet but packs a punch". She is also a girl with a lot of stars, sneakers, printed tees and her naughty fuck-it list that she made one day while drinking after a very bad lay. She is daughter of James Mitchell, manager of Bandini (Noah slades's ) F1 team, and therefore has never been out of his radar regarding any teenage fun. James has always kept her in check in the name of responsibility, rules and respect but under all of that he does not realise he acts that way because he doesn't want sophie to end up like her mother, leaving her child and husband to go to africa to save under- developed countries.

Sophie has been in all girls school all her life, and once she turns 18 and is accompanying her father to the prix season, she is told to go for a kid's birthday party for face painting. Once she is in college, her life changes for the worst it can be… with bad lays and even worse list of boys to choose from. She is an accounting major, who enjoys drawing and painting, but she doesn't want to let her father down in any way, hence do not complaint about it.

Her life changes when she befriends, maya alatorre and liam zander during her prix schedule. She remembers where she has met liam before.. when 18, at the kid's birthday party a mysteriously good looking guy had bribed a kid to leave her alone to talk to him. At the time liam was 25 and told her she's too young and naive to be with him, and if they meet again under different circumstances and time they would.

Sophie avoids liam like a plague because of her father's instructions and he looks like double trouble… (yum!). Anyway, she shares another silent moment with liam under the starry sky at one of the prix end of race gala. Liam asks her for a date, after he discovers her list by chance… she acts too intelligent and asks jax and maya to come with so that she doesn't have to be alone with liam. Everything is platonic between them as she friendzones liam and keeps her distance, while liam and maya helps her with her list.

Sophie gets drunk during canada prix and kisses liam one night in a park, which leads to an intense atmosphere, which later leads to another kiss and for them to agree on a friends with benefit situation. Well, i will not spoil anything because reading about the hot and sexy deeds happening between liam and sophie, to cross off her fuck-it list are worth the wait. (Go and read if you haven't already. And to add to the spice and excitement all of it happens while sophie is trying to hide from her father, because F1 racers are out of limits for sophie.

Although sophie is scared and knows it can make their friendship ugly, she ends up falling for liam. With his charming, nerdy, hot, insecure self. Liam who helps her relive her dream, when he gifts her paint and sketch book. He makes her realise that she needs to follow her dream as she is allowed to chase her happiness. On their last day together before the abu dhabi grand prix, liam takes her to a desert under the most beautiful starry sky, to cross off one last thing on the list. Sophie spends her last hours with him with a heavy heart knowing after the last race he has to choose between her and his next year's contract with Mccoy. Well, she breaks his heart, fights with him at dawn and they leave the place.

Sophie is very distracted and sad. James asks her daughter for what was wrong and tells her that he might know about it as he is not dimwit. I love the whole daughter-father relation here, as james is so supportive and tries to help them afterwards. He helps liam to learn about the truth of his company who is trying to blindside him in the name of contract.

Sophie returns home with a heavy heart and confronts her father about her wanting to help kids through painting therapy. Well, what can a loving father do ? he agrees. Liam comes to sophie's place at the same day and proposes her, with his own dreamy list written at the back of sophie's fuck-it list. A big big happy ending.

*LIAM ZANDER (28 yr old) - A Tall , Dark, Dashing with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes Mccoy F1 racer. Best in the Mccoy team, bestfriends to noah slade and jax kingston. He recently got into trouble with his company for fooling around with the owner's niece and it is a bad time for any other distraction in his life, especially miss Sophie Marie Mitchell.

Liam can not refuse the wave of desire and attraction that rises in his heart and body for Sophie, but he is in check. Liam tries and tries to get close to sophie during first 2-3 locations of the prix schedule, but she has her boundaries built too tall for him to surpass or even to peek by. The worst happens to liam, yes what happens with every other guy in a girl's life = Friendzoned.

Liam and sophie has a intense and very very hot game going on in the whole book while trying to stay away from each other (noone wants to accept it in their hearts that they need each other in all the ways possible). He steals various opportunities to talk dirty to sophie in the most crowded places, leave feather touches whenever they are alone and close enough to each other. He cannot understand why he is so mesmerised by sophie's sparkling sneakers under the dresses, her printed Tees, her innocent face which looks at the starry nights, or her very naughty fuck-it list.

Liam is a pure soul ( i'm saying that), he loves kids and he reads everyday before going to bed…. and to top it all (my personal favorite reason) he knows that books are better than the tv/movie adaptations of the story 😍. Coming back - as anyone would do, liam tries to take sophie for double dates and offers to help her with her very specific list. Everything is going fine till they decide to be friends with benefits. They spend more and more time together. She helps him reconnect with his brother and nieces and restore his family relations… and guess what happens to liam??. love happens… 😏.

Liam has a wounded heart, something we all go through in life for various reasons. His college bestfriend Johanna who falls in love with his elder brother Lukas and they have a beautiful daughter, but during her second pregnancy she unfortunately leaves the world and zander family with a lot of sadness and her second child. Therefore, liam doesn't like to go home for vacations, for his niece's birthday because it is johanna's death anniversary. He does what he can do best and shuts it all down and focuses on racing and partying till sophie arrives and stirs these feelings in him, which terrifies him. He keeps lying to himself but he can't deny that he feels for her and doesn't want her to leave him and go home after the season is done. He keeps insisting with his company to let him continue the next season with sophie (as friends). But he gets to know they have been playing with his career for their own gains and it is time for him to decide everything.

Guess what happens ?…. Yes, liam leaves the team and joins another. He exposes his company and accepts that he loves sophie at the last press conference after grand prix. And… he goes to sophie and confesses.

Liam zander's character shows healing, accepting, feeling and growing up as a person.

I love lauren asher for always giving us all the perfect reasons to read and dream. This books shows a very beautiful way of healing right after showing us the lowest point of liam's life. Sophie's chasing her dream and happiness. Both Liam and Sophie are like a puzzle pieces fitting together perfectly. This books gives us lot of emotions which leads to very intense slow burn ( well, i live for my struggles 😂). i personally love their sexual encounters ( i will be updating one very sexy scene next month). There are kind of three epilogues , one in the last chapter where on christmas liam gifts sophie her dream car and asks her to move in with him. Another one within the book where they are married for two years and sophie surprises him with her pregnancy and one extended epilogue which shows 14 years after noah and maya (boy - marko )and liam and sophie's (twins - stella and leo) marriage. By the way their kids are legends on the race track.

This book was a treat and i think i found another one of my favorite troupe (which i do not know what to call ? Is there a name for it… friends to lovers?? Or something else.. 😉)

Introduction Post

Hello, my name is CJ Nightingale, and this is my blog dedicated to my OCs, their story, and the development of said story!! I'm making this blog for the sake of having a designated place to talk about my OCs, and so that I have some people to hold me accountable for actually making story progress, since I've been struggling a bit to actually sit down and make progress on getting the comic going. I think having a blog about it will help me stay motivated. Hopefully. Lol

A little bit of story related information:

This story has over 36 very important characters, not including antagonists and "true" side characters. This story takes place over the course of about 7 or 8 years, in 5 acts, taking the characters from middle school into early college. It's based in what I believe would be described as an "urban fantasy" setting, which looks similar to our world but is quite different. The story is meant to be mostly lighthearted, but there will be very intense moments and emotional damage (and a little blood sometimes too, as there will be fantasy violence).

I will make proper posts describing things in more detail as I go, but for the time being here's a brief introduction to each of the main characters:

Skylar: Acts 1-5, sarcastic, takes no BS, a bit of an enigma, Lukas' twin

Jesse: Acts 1-5, scatterbrained, just out here doing his best

Rin: Acts 1-5, mischievous, enjoys trying new things

Zander: Acts 1-5, smart, unbothered, designated "responsible dude"

Tabitha: Acts 1-5, bubbly, arguably too much faith in humanity

Lukas: Acts 1-5, looks more chill than he actually is, emotionally intelligent (most of the time), Skylar's twin

Lydia: Acts 1-5, too smart for her own good, very good with power tools

Marcus: Acts 1-5, quiet, listens a lot and knows more than he should, arguably drinks too much caffeine

Jules: Acts 2-5, highly approachable and talkative, likes poofy dresses

Dillon: Acts 2-5, skeptical of people, likes roller derby, hates group projects

Takuma: Acts 2-5, Ambitious, sarcastic, has doodled on every piece of clothing they own

Mariah Mae: (Kind of a side character) Acts 2-5, wildly peppy, a bit of a nerd, highly authentic person

Rea: Acts 2-5, perpetually has her head in the clouds, bewildered by humans

Dani: Acts 2-5, highly intuitive, knows all the things, likes music and their service dog

Booker: Acts 2-5, tends to accidentally run his mouth, likes basketball, bass guitar, and his friends

Ollie: Acts (1) 3-5, a little bit reactive, closed off, terrifyingly good at sleight of hand and at lying (do not play poker with him)

Meklit: Acts (1) 3-5, levelheaded, blunt, likes people and dislikes shoes

Gavin: Acts 3-5, both lawyer smart and a bit naïve, cellist, keeps putting himself in situations by accident

Goldie: Acts (1) 3-5, a bit shy, puts a lot of pressure on himself but looks really really chill at all times, chronic doodler

Blake: Acts 1-5, very antsy, very tired, very full of nervous energy, makes some poor decisions

Zaahira: Acts 4-5, genuinely nice person, cares about people, prefers plants

Wulf: Acts (3???) 4-5, impulsive, giggly, just happy to be here, on the run from the government

Akachi: Acts (1) 3-5, extremely ambitious, aesthetically inclined, color coordinated at all times

Selene: Acts 4-5, high tolerance for shenanigans, very bubbly, just out here having a good time

Sakura: Acts 4-5, detail oriented, loves stickers, can borderline read minds/hj

Remi: Acts 4-5 (probably??? gonna have to figure that out a bit more), very smart, very sarcastic, very giggly, very happy to be here

Leah: Acts 1-5, insomniac, a bit pretentious, makes some poor decisions

Sylvi: Acts (1) 3-5, borderline annoying theatre kid in the best way possible, very good singer

Karim: (Arguably a side character) Acts 4-5 (maybe idk), arguably too much faith in humanity, enjoys puns

Jono: Acts (3) 5, loves music, loses his train of thought frequently, looks more nervous than he is

Ivanna: Acts (3) 5, tough, good at water polo, believes in doing the right thing

Sovanna: Acts (3) 4-5, super chill, loves stickers, loves travelling, detail oriented

Ash: Act 5, under a ton of pressure, a bit reactive, out here trying his best

Coral: Act 5, can be hard to talk to, big listener, takes herself very seriously

Sib: (arguably a side character) Act 5, way too much energy at all times, good sense of humor, Ari's twin

Ari: (arguably a side character) Act 5, tired, quiet, talks more to animals than he does people

So that's a brief introduction to the non-antagonist characters, I'll make actual introduction posts for them later, but also if y'all want to ask questions about any of them before I get to that lmk!! Also feel free to ask questions about anything related to this story, I'd be happy to talk about it, and it might motivate me to help get stuff done.

seeing as you don’t have an e or an n, I’m going to just go through the whole alphabet backwards until I hit one

You're not gonna believe this but I have 2 zs and I'm gonna talk about them both cuz they're both cool and I don't talk about either of them enough

So firstly is Zaahira

By the time she appears in the story she's in college, as are most of the rest of my characters, and she'd probably be majoring in botanical studies / biology. She really likes plants, has always maintained an interest in them from the time she was a kid, which makes a lot of sense given that her magical ability in this universe is being able to grow plants at increased speeds (think Perfuma from spop type thing, but maybe not quite as like... over the top / with a different set of limitations and she doesn't have any problems with cacti). Zaahira's a somewhat prickly character, she's not overly social and she can be a little closed off. But while she may come off as mean at times, it's not intentionally so.

A few notes about her- she's from Egypt, although her actual like... ethnic background (I think that's the right word???) is kind of a mess because of story related parentage reasons. Which I won't overly go into here. She's quite good at doing makeup, particularly eyeliner, she got into doing that in her freshman year of college when one of her roommates suggested she try it. She's fairly good at painting and drawing as well, though not as practiced in it as she is makeup.

Next Z character is Zander!

He's kind of one of my OGs, which means a few things- firstly, he's like 13 when the story starts because he's introduced in the very first act. Secondly, this means he's been an OC of mine for almost 7 years. He's an OG lol.

Some stuff about Zander!! He wears those glasses basically all the time except for when he's asleep because he can barely see without them, and they're really thick and kind of heavy. He qualifies as blind legally, but doesn't really need much other than his glasses and sometimes when it's really dark he just needs to hold onto Jesse's arm and he's fine. (Note: Jesse is another OC. Zander and him have been friends since they were like 5. This is a tangent so back to Zander). Near the end of the story, when Zander is in college, he probably studies video game design. He's not super technically smart necessarily, but he loves computers and he loves creating detailed concepts. He probably has dabbled in coding, concept art, and script writing and still isn't 100% sure what he wants to do.

Zander's generally pretty nice, but for some reason he and one of my other OCs, Lukas, just. Have an issue with each other. For like no reason. It gets resolved but they have an issue. But for the most part Zander is nice enough. He's quite extroverted and loves people and he can be a little blunt at times but he's also very honest and likes to lookout for people. He doesn't consider himself very responsible (he is, actually. Don't try to convince him of that he won't let you) but he's also technically the oldest out of my cast by a few months so while he's not generally looked to for things like magical advising (he technically has no magic abilities) he is looked to for moral support and impulse control.

2. Meaning of name "Liam" and "Emma"

Liam:

I finally hit one! Now I am very curious about Jesse and Lukas, do you have any tidbits for them?

Yes I do! I'll start with Lukas, just cuz... why not

So it's probably first worth noting that Lukas is a twin, Skylar is his older twin sibling (Skylar's on the left here and Lukas is on the right). Skylar may be older but Lukas is definitely more protective even though he has absolutely no business doing so (which is a manner of saying that Skylar is. Very. Very powerful magically and Lukas. Let's just say he's not), so when the story starts and everything begins going downhill and insane Lukas is out here trying to look out for Skylar's safety and Skylar's like yeah no that's absolutely not happening.

Some more Lukas notes, he generally gets along fairly well with people, the only people he's ever really fought with have been Zander (for the unknown reasons mentioned in the last ask) and Skylar (because they're siblings. They're gonna fight each other it's in the job description). Lukas is definitely a people person, and he's quite charming, people tend to like him. He really enjoys baking and is hoping to open some kind of bakery as an adult. He probably would've started one as a teen but that's like actively during the story when there's. Chaos and magic and plot. And he doesn't really have time to run a bakery during all that. Also side note, Lukas and Skylar are British but they moved to the US.

Okay next is Jesse!

Jesse, much like Lukas, Skylar and Zander are all OGs / Act 1 characters. This is actually half of the Act 1 "cast", at least the specifically Act 1 protagonist cast. The rest of that cast is Lydia, Marcus, Katherine and Tabitha who I can also say words about later if anyone's curious.

Anyways!! Jesse!! As mentioned in the last ask, Jesse and Zander are childhood best friends. Between the pair of them, Jesse has always been more reserved / shy. That said, as stressed out as he generally is, he comes off as surprisingly chill. He doesn't have the world's greatest spatial awareness, so he has an unfortunate tendency to walk into things / trip over things / etc. He's a swimmer and is notably far more graceful in water (though he does still sometimes miss the wall when doing turns). Also, not a major part of the story necessarily, but he is canonically trans, and like I don't talk about that kind of thing very much if at all but like honestly. Love that for him. And it's not really talked about much in the story given that he transitioned socially before the story's events and it's not super plot relevant so I don't really talk about that kind of thing but like I just kind of wanted to mention it here because he's my guy. I love that for him. And honestly Jesse is one of my favorite characters to write because I find him very relatable and the way his brain works is based a lot on how my brain works so. Maybe he's like bordering on being a self-insert that's way cooler than me in basically every way but whatever lmao
