For this post I want to delve deeper into our girl Daisy and how she would turn out as a mother. After I had done a post about Luigi as a father I think it would be only fitting to make a post about Daisy as a mother because oh boy there is stuff to be said about this woman. Consider this a late mothersday gift.

Trigger warning for the discussion of trauma and PTSD

First let us analyze who Daisy is. Daisy has a hardworking, competitive, positive spirit which seems to carry her wherever she goes. This princess is called that for a reason. While she seems happy go lucky and hot-headed at some points she also is steadfast and quite brave in her conviction not straying from it all. This woman seriously has an allergy against injustice (that could also be related to ADHD but that is a topic for another day). She is not afraid to get agressive with people as is shown with Bowser.

This woman portrays the still image of that of a strong leader.

This did not always seem to be the way though at first with her having to go through a situation which would leave many traumatised. The hypnotising of her citizens, destruction of her kingdom and her kidnapping all because of some purple creature from an unknown world. A drastic change surfaced from this event which made our girl, a princess who was just enjoying life and had many similarities with Peach turn into a woman who had to forge her own identity and find bravery amongst the chaos of this invasion. Even though we now know our monarch as this fierce, battle hardened warrior with a streak of being cheerful and excitement there seems to be more beneath the surface.

Now a flashforward to our queen of Sarasaland, a monarch of an empire who stands strong till this day as she rules over it with her loving husband. It seems that there is no sign of weakness or fear in Sarasaland and their respective queen from the attacks although this appearance does not represent the truth. There is always that fear lurking, that small voice that tells her it can happen again and whenever she sees something fast in the sky she swears it could be him. Daisy is alert and ready to keep her kingdom safe but being scared is something that will never go away even if she does not outwardly show it.

The way this presents itself in parenthood is her tendency to instill as much knowledge as she can in her children. Whether that be about geography, literature, nature or fighting skills any knowledge is good according to Daisy so her children are prepared for anything. It is not a weird sight to see her quizzing her children on certain trivia or take them on trips all over the kingdom so they can get to know their culture and people.

She has to make sure that they are able to keep themselves safe. Daisy remembers the helplessness she felt when buildings fell, the crowds almost trampled her in panic and she kept calling for her mama and baba with tears in her eyes. That event is something that she hopes never occures for her children but it is something that replays itself in her mind. Daisy can never be sure that it won't happen again even if the walls are as strong as ever, alliances are friendly and defences are massive and ready. It could come when she least expects it and that uncertainty is something she tries to deal with everyday.

Daisy knows that locking her children up and trying to keep them safe that way is a lost cause. They are going to be curious and meet many wonderful things but also experience awful ones. Equipping them with an armor of knowledge allows them more survivability in Daisy's opinion. She is scared but does not allow her fear to corrupt her judgement only better it.

Chapter 3 is out!

Probably a part of why I’m excited to continue writing this piece is because of the different dynamics in this fic. It has Mario/Peach and Luigi/Daisy romantic relationships (all in different stages of the relationships, wink wink laughs in pining trope) but there’s also an almost equal amount of Peach/Luigi and Daisy/Mario friendship vibes too.

In chapter 3, there’s a glance at how comfortable Luigi and Peach are with each other, like some teasing and getting caught up on things. But in later chapters, there’s some more scene of this and it shows more of the trusting dynamic they have with one another. It’s really cute and it’s a great platform to write prompts off of :3

Later on, once the squad comes together for [redacted spoiler], Daisy shows up and kinda functions as a madlad and a catalyse for other ideas/plans that the group will make later on. I like to think she is fiercely competitive in an energetic, supportive sort of way, but she is also a very determined political figure in Sarasaland, which ties in with the plot’s setting of a Power-up crisis later on.

I’m excited to keep publishing this fic. There’s a lot happening and it’s fun to look forward to posting more about it :3

If you were the wedding planner of a Luiasy wedding how would you arrange it? What would the location be? What would the theme of the wedding be? And what extras would you add towards the outfits of the bride and groom?

Aaaaahhh this took me forever to get to 😭 @kelbreyworshipper I’ll be real with you, when you sent me this ask, I was walking to my chem final, and I read your prompt and I was like “ummmmm 😳”

Buuut I think it’s safe to say I had enough time to cook, plus it was a fun challenge, so I hope you enjoy this! It's pretty long, so read at your own pace hehe

First of all, I’ve chosen this day in particular to post the becaaauuuseeee…

Today (or yesterday wherever you are) is/was the one-year anniversary of my very first Luaisy drawing! BOY how far we’ve come. Now without further ado…

= LUAISY WEDDING =

This wedding was months in the making. Peach and Mario self-appointed themselves (even though it was obvious from the get-go) to the maid of honor and best man, so they worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect and better.

Each Mario lady had an essential part to play in this wedding:

Peach Maid of honor. Her role was to find the best venue for the wedding and send out invites to the Mushroom Kingdom and the other kingdoms within Sarasaland. But Peach being Peach with her overenthusiasm for weddings, carried 95% of the wedding planning and wedding day on her back. Of course, everyone gave her her flowers in the end. Mario definitely made sure she knew she was appreciated

Daisy was a 5'11" sack of nerves for her wedding, so Peach took it in her hands to calm her down, assuring her that it was completely normal to feel that way, and had to keep reminding her of how much Luigi loved her and that he wants this as much as she does. She also reminded Daisy that she should be elated because this is her special day. Peach would know all about it. ;)

Peach ran through the wedding, had multiple (maybe more than needed) rehearsals, and coordinated the wedding dinner that Daisy and Luigi would have.

Pauline Bridesmaid, wedding designer, and performer. I headcanon Pauline to be the most fluent in fashion and designing among the Mario ladies, and it was her who Peach took sewing up. Peach invited Pauline to a lot of her and Daisy's shopping trips for wedding dresses, getting her advice on what would suit her and Luigi's taste for their wedding day.

Pauline also performed at their wedding, doing solo performances, and then concluding with her band.

Rosalina Bridesmaid and vow writer. Even though Rosa is not a woman of many words, when she does have something to say, people are listening.

Out of the ladies, she's the biggest bookworm, spending time in her observatory reading and writing when she can. This makes her an amazing poet. All her close friends find it hard to believe that she doesn't have a significant other. She has shared some of her poems with her friends, and it was a wonder how none of them fell in love with her.

But Daisy called her up (or down) to help her write her vows, and Rosa was more than happy to help. She helped her organize her thoughts and feelings for Luigi and what their relationship truly meant to her. Rosa also helped to plan, outline, revise, and maybe wrote some parts of it herself.

She oversaw all parts of the writing process, yet, when Daisy recited those words back to Luigi on their wedding day, she reacted as if it were her very first time hearing it; tears in her eyes and hands clasped together. She was so proud.

Toadette Bridesmaid and master chef. And even better... free of charge! She was cooking up a storm with the help of other Toad chefs for Daisy and Luigi's special day. The two still provided her and her crew a very generous tip (Luigi is loaded here).

Mario

Best man. With Mario and Luigi, it was pretty much the same story with Peach and Daisy, except Luigi was ten times worse. It took Mario a great deal of effort and convincing Luigi to not call off the wedding, just because of the mere thought of Daisy possibly having second thoughts.

Mario did everything a typical best man would do at a wedding and more, making sure everything was in order, and not a single detail was out of place. Right before, during, and after the wedding, he used at least 3 full rolls of tissue paper.

Another thing on the performance line-up... I'm gonna go ahead and yoink @silenzahra's musician bros hc and say that Mario does a surprise performance for Luigi and Daisy. It’s a song that is a testament to his and Luigi’s bond, which obviously immediately gets Luigi choked up.

As Mario was singing and playing the guitar, it felt so wrong for Mario to be singing their song on his own, so Luigi joined him on the stage, grabbing a mic left behind from Pauline's band group and singing alongside him. Cue forehead touches, and lots of hugging, crying, and ‘I love you’s.

Wedding Location and Theme

I 100% believe that their wedding would take place outside. Daisy and Luigi wanted a large, open space with a nice landscape view with not too many manmade buildings. So uh, Brooklyn was out of the question, not that they minded. Daisy decided to make use of the Chai Kingdom (one of the four Kingdoms in Sarasaland) and its naturistic feel.

And then the post-wedding dinner and performances would all take place here:

(Basically, just imagine all of this but green and orange-themed lol)

As for the theme, I feel that they’d go with a fairytale-themed wedding! That, or a forest-themed wedding; green and orange are earthy colors, so I want their wedding to reflect that.

Again, yoinking @silenzahra's Luigi the bookworm hc, I’d like to think that one of the ways Luigi and Daisy grew closer was from reading together, and the National Book Days in Sarasaland. Once Daisy got more into reading, Luigi encouraged her to venture out in her castle’s library and find some genres that she liked. They both noticed that she seemed to gravitate towards stories that were more adventure-packed, as well as fairytales, mythological, and fictional stories. Daisy has a very active imagination and loves otherworldly visuals, so Luigi was more than happy to incorporate that into their wedding theme.

The bridesmaids and maid of honor are decked in golden dresses (for ya girl), and the groomsmen and best man are decked in emerald green (for ya boy). For the wedding guests’ attire… there is not a single trace of black to be found! The wedding looked like a rainbow that threw up all the colors in the visible spectrum.

To honor Pride Month… let’s just say Rosa is looking for that special someone… right beside her ;)

Lumas

I’m adding the Lumas (plus Lumalee of course!) to be the flower children! The wedding would be decked with 75-100 lumas of all different colors and purposes. They would be the ambiance for the wedding, especially when the sun sets, and at nighttime. The wedding would still use fairy lights in case the Lumas didn't cooperate (was never an issue). But... just imagine dozens of bright moving lights with sparkles trailing behind them in the night sky.

Groomsmen, Ring Bearer, Maid of Honor and Best Man (tumblr has me on a pic limit here 😮‍💨): Wario, Waluigi, and Toad; Yoshi; Mario and Peach

Yeah, Wario and Waluigi were invited, as long as they promised to behave. And if not, Daisy and her family will set em straight… and Mario if they even dare think about ruining his baby brother’s day. The two weren’t so fond of the dress code at first, but they sucked it up. Eventually, emerald green grew on them.

Also, the tie Mario is wearing was handcrafted by Luigi when they were kids. ;’)

Post-Wedding

Like I said earlier, plenty of food will be provided by Toadette and her crew, and there will be endless games. They would mostly be Mario Party-styled, but there would also be some sports like tennis or mini-golf. That all happens after the newlyweds have their dance and cake. Let’s just say for an itty-bitty second of time, they recreate the dance of all dances.

After all the fun has been had, the two are driven into the moonlight by Toadsworth with a “JUST HITCHED” sign on the back of his Parade Kart from MK Double Dash. They’d be transported in this very familiar fashion.

Your answer on my question about your headcanons for the couple was soo good! It added about some takes I had for them and made me develop some new ones! So I have another question for you regarding the two.

If Luigi and Daisy ever decide to have a kid or kids what do you think the parenting style between the two would be like?

💚 I like to believe that a Parent-Matured Luigi is the voice of reason amongst his own family. Kind of what I probably think Peach is also with her own Family with Mario. After all, he married a now Empress! that kind of does make him a future Emperor, right?

He is known for teaching restraint. Brings the calm after a conflict.

The one that often instills the importance of fairness, equality and so on. It’s not that Daisy doesn’t do any of these things! But Luigi is the one to give gentle reminders.

His kids do something that’s a bit out of line? Luigi rarely ever yells or shouts. And if he somehow does, it’s never supposed to be towards his little ones or beloved. But instead occurs when he is in high panic mode and needs to warn them to look out for danger.

I for some reason feel like he is VERY good at controlling and balancing out his own emotions though. When he has to give some form of Discipline, he would have to be a bit firm with it. But overall he’s very patient and understanding.

Maybe when his kids go through a more rebellious phase when they are older, he of course is the more concerned and hesitant for their safety. Including what they do, and what they get involved in. But once he actually gets to know more of the situation, he learns to be open and willing to understand more.

💚 While both Parents do this, Luigi is usually the one who brings up Dinner to his kids if they’re feel down or sick and confined to their rooms. This is usually because he cooks dinner. While Daisy Handles Breakfast and Lunch. In short, no matter their status, either one of them takes turns if the other is unable to do so.

He gets absolutely heartbroken seeing his kids low on energy and hurting from being sick. Even when he has to to work, he shifts his schedule accordingly so he can spend as much time with them, if Daisy has to attend urgent issues.

He comes up to their bedrooms with some nice warm tea. Some soup if the kids can’t stomach anything too hearty.

On that same note, he finds himself singing lullabies! There are a couple of times where he wakes up in the middle of the night to soothe the crying of babies, that Daisy has caught him humming along to a tune.

💚 Because Luigi tends to stay up a bit later sometimes because of dealing with Plumbing Paperwork, he lets Daisy sleep before him.

He’s grown a habit with waking up a bit earlier than Daisy. Sometimes because he one day feels like making breakfast for the family, or he really has to leave for work early. Either way, he leaves a handwritten note on his wife’s bedside table for her. And one in the kitchen too!

💚 Protectiveness. When it comes to protecting his family? Family-man Luigi is almost like a different person.

More or a what-if scenario. Picture this. The Villain says something out of line. Thinking the Emperor is too much of a ‘pansy’ compared to his wife to do anything. Although Luigi is composed. Little did they know, they should have paid attention to the hint of electric spark that flickered in his eyes.

🌼 Daisy is the one who’s wanting her children to be in top energy and health every day!

A glass of fresh milk/Juice every morning. She’s more quick to give reminders on the dot, right away. With chores and other tasks, she makes sure that things get done right away.

🌼 Now as a mother to the children she adores, Daisy has learned to become serious enough to tone down some of her signature fiery tomboyish nature. But of course once in a while, this flares up in the form of showing pride for her children. Cheering them on, Encouraging them. Daisy wouldn’t be Daisy without her boundless energy, even as an Empress!

In comparison to Luigi singing lullabies. Daisy is a great storyteller. Bedtime stories? It’s ALWAYS the Sarasaland Empress’s duty! All the adventures she took upon, how her husband saved her from peril a few times, and how she saved him. Stories about the big bad purple Alien being defeated by the Heroes in Caps and overalls. Completed with some sound effects aided by none other than her beloved.

🌼 When disciplining her children, Daisy is the more serious one.

Not that she’s hard on her kids, nor that she yells or shouts at them either. But she is more likely to give some stern talking to correct bad behavior.

Daisy is amazingly good at sensing lies. Her BS radar is highly accurate. So if she catches her children who claimed to have not eaten that entire jar of cookies? Truth be told, she can’t help but be amused at this. She plays along too! It’s the entire reason why the kids play up their cuteness in front of their father. Daisy actually finds it hilarious that Luigi falls for it most of the time!

🌼 When it comes to protectiveness. Luigi May be the steady force who goes on the defense. But Daisy is the raging flame.

Although I did mention that Daisy is not as impulsive and short-tempered as she once was. But hurt her family, and you will be a goner. You absolutely do not want to be on the receiving end of a Mother’s fury.

Doesn’t matter if she is wearing the most regal of dresses. She WILL find a way to roundhouse kick you.

While Daisy is a confident woman, she does sometimes get embarrassed of this rough side of her that pops up. especially in front of her children. But so far, they have been nothing but in awe of their mother’s strength!

Hell yeah we live a financially stable couple 😌 I totally agree that even though Luigi’s got millions in the bank, he’s way too humble with it, and borderline stingy, cause he wants to use it for bigger and better things, like charity or building homes for citizens. And Daisy just spending money cause she’s a princess and she can 😂 and for their kids too, earlier in life they’re all Daisy with money, but they later in life they become Luigi with money, hehe.

It only seems to focus on Luigi but never on how those two could incoporate it so allow me to do so. The finances of the flower and the clover

The man of green 💵

We all know that Luigi is a very VERY wealthy person.

With your own mansion and hotel that seems the most accurate and rational description you could use for someone who has that.

Matpat did a whole video on it already but the basic gist of it is that Luigi is economically quite stable and has even accumulated generational wealth especially with the artifacts and objects that reside within the mansion. There is no way he is selling them even if collectors tell him the price of these things. He considers them interesting and pieces of art that cannot be replaced. So why sell them? A lot of eyebrows are raised with this decision but Luigi would not have it any other way.

The other thing is that Luigi is not someone who throws money over the counter to flaunt his wealth, it is used for an emergency and to provide comfort for if he and his family need it. This can be traced back to his sober heritage from the immigrant family he was birthed from. They consisted of many and didn't have much to spend but had to make do of what they had. I am 99.9% sure that Mario and Luigi's father instilled that in them who got that mentality in turn from his own dad. The frugality is not based on egocentrism rather on taking care of those within his circle and those who are unfortunate.

As a result, he would not allow his money to be used haphazardly for goods he would judge as not having any substance. So no wear of Deadly & Galerina (kudos if you know what brand I am referring to), no 25 new dresses whenever there has been a hole spotted in an old one and no expensive gadgets without reason. Daisy is okay with this but the children are showing more trouble adapting especially when media is abundant in showing them new items. Luigi stands firm, well mostly. If his children show their good grade or profeciency in a new subject for instance he doesn't mind letting them pick one expensive item as a reward for their perseverance in learning.

The riches of a Daisy 💰

Now we move onto Daisy, the princess of Sarasaland has already been born into a world of wealth so she did not know any other forms of life. She had often experienced firsthand how the differences in wealth impacted her and her people. Her parents at a young age made her come into contact with many of Sarasaland's cultures as it allowed her to see the many ways people dealt with their finances. From spending it on gifts to using it as one. Everyone had a different stance on money so she combined these perspectives.

She is more progressive in her ways of spending money in opposition to Luigi. For example, Daisy allows her children to splurge on items with pocket change but once the bank is empty it stays that way and they won't be getting it for a while. The kids do not let the opportunity go to beg for more money however. This is to their sadness always answered with a smile, crossing of the arms and shaking of the head from their mother stating that that is their consequence for spending it haphazardly. This way she hopes to teach them the value of money while simultaneously allowing them to spoil themselves if they want to. In turn it aligns with her views on parenting based on my last post about her.

In short, Luigi and Daisy have different ways they instill financial responsibility in their children. One conservative and the other a laissez-faire approach. One does not necessarily have to triumph over the other and the couple tries their best with navigating through these opposing ideas adding and improving wherever they can but most inportantly learning from eachother and making their children much wiser about this grotesque world.
