Monster Trio Preferences- Where they like to kiss you
I got carried away with Zoro's sorry i'm not sorry. Not edited
MONKEY D. LUFFY
Tumblr media
Luffy loves to kiss your nose. His favorite thing to do is catch you by suprise because it makes you laugh everytime.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sit at the table waiting for lunch talking to Sanji. The door slams open hitting the wall and your captain walks in.
"God dammit Luffy your going to put a hole in my wall," Sanji said clearly irritated. "And I told you I'd come get you when lunch was ready," Luffy ignored him and kept his eyes on you. Before you could ask him what he wanted Luffy sprints full speed up to you, grabbing your face he turns your head and places a gental kiss on your nose. You giggle giving him a playful shove, "Geez Cap I thought something was wrong,"
Luffy wraps his arms around your shoulders and looks at Sanji. "I'm not here for food i'm here for (Y/N)"
He picks you up and brings you to the figure head where you both sit and Luffy talks about his day. You chime in now and then but when Luffy is on a roll, to catch him off guard you kiss him on the nose. He stops mid sentence surprised at your action.
“Hey that’s my job he says’” kissing you back. This goes on for a while you two going back and forth kissing each others noses.
———————————————————————
“How long do you think they will do that for” Nami asks Usopp who is standing next her.
“Probably until one headbutts the other on accident,”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RORONOA ZORO
Tumblr media
Zoro's favorite place to kiss you is the top of your head. He loves how small you are compared to him and he likes to smell your hair, but he'd rather land on his own sword then tell you that.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Living on the 1000 Sunny was always fun, the boys were loud and something was always happening. Today however your anxiety was through the roof and you just wanted piece and quiet and to be alone. You tried to hide in the girls dorm but Nami was practicing with her Clima-tact. You went to the baths to try and relax, but Brooke was in there practicing his singing because 'it has the best accoustics on board.' All you wanted was Zoro but he was training in the crows nest and just looking up at made your stomach turn with anxiety.
Sighing you go to Chopper, knocking before you enter his office. "Come in," Opening the door you feel your shoulders relax seeing that he was the only one there. Chopper smile fell as he saw you, knowing something was wrong as you didn't great him as your normal cheery self.
"Hey Chopper," you say laying down on the bed "Do you have anything for anxiety?"
Chopper's face lightens when he understands what going on. He smiles softly going over to his cabniet. He pulls out different herbs and starts to use his mortar and pestle.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asks quietly making sure not to be too loud. You look at your hands in your lap holding them together so they don't shake. There's nothing to talk about, you've been anxious all your life living fine with it. However today was the worst you've felt in months.
"I just woke up with this weight on my chest and a pit in my stomach and nothing has help," you say tearing up. "And all I want is my Roro but I look at the crows nest and want to throw up,"
You let the tears fall not worrying about Chopper seeing you he's seen you worse. He walks over to you handing a steaming cup of tea.
"Lavender, Chamomile, and Valerian for your anxiety it also might make you sleepy, do you want me to go get Zoro for you?" Chopper asked, there was a reason why everyone loved the doctor he would do anything to make you feel better physically and mentally.
You nod staring into your tea. "Thank you Chopper,"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoro walked into the office his presence taking up room. When you see him you immediatly bawl from all of the emotions in your system. He rushes over to you not noticing Chopper shut the door to give you guys privacy.
"Hey, hey doll what's going on," Zoro says softly wrapping his sweaty body around you kissing the crown of your head. You tell him about how you felt waking up and your search for your own space all day. How when ever you looked at the crows nest you were nauseas.
"And all I wanted was you, but it's ok I have you now," you say sniffly. Zoro kisses your head agin resting his lips there for a moment. He stands up taking you with him.
"What are you doing?" you ask him as you plant your feet on the floor your face in his chest.
"Chopper said that you need deep presure for anxiety," Zoro said in a matter of fact tone wrapping his arms around you holding you tight. "And I can kiss the top of your head this way," he says breathing in your shampoo.
VINSMOKE SANJI
Tumblr media
Sanji's favorite place to kiss you is your pussy neck. He loves when you try and squirm saying his name in a giggle.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanji had been making dinner for hours and for a good reason it was your birthday and you only deserved the best. When he asked you what you wanted to eat for dinner your request was anything but simple sea king sushi.
Luffy and Usopp have been fishing all day waiting for one that was Sanji aprove. Once they had caught one that had a good meat to fat ratio Zoro cut it into managable pieces. Now Sanji was locked by himself in the kitchen with a 'Screw Off' sign on the door.
———————————————————————
You were anything but lonely partying with the crew but you still missed Sanji, maybe you should have chosen something diffent. You should've known Sanji would put 110% into anything he does for you.
You lean back in your chair by the fire Usopp had started, the sun was setting on the horizon it was beautiful. Letting out a content sigh you take a drink your sake.
Suddenly you feel the tickle of Sanji's stubble on your neck before he kisses you. Scrunching up your shoulder you let out a giggle.
"Sanji your back," A smile spreads across your face.
“(Y/N)-swan I will always come back you don’t have to worry,” he said kissed you ok the other side of your neck.
Sanji stood up clearing his throat. “Now who’s hungry,”
Before he could finish what he was saying Luffy’s arms were on the inside of the door frame ready to launch himself into the kitchen, Zoro, Sanji, and Frankie had to hold him back so you could sit down first.

The Siren, the Cook, and the Sister (9)
Sanji x PirateHunter!FemReader (Masterlist) Chapter 9: Your Biggest Fan (Previous) (Next) Summary: The cooks seems to take the discovery semi-well or seems to at least. You invite the crew to dinner. Warnings: None
Sanji shot up in a cold sweat. Chest heaving, short of breath. He looked around and saw that he was in the infirmary. What happened?, he thought as he rubbed his face. He winced at the contact. He looked out the window and saw that the sun had set. Shit... dinner. He shot out of bed and ran to the kitchen. He rushed in and was greeted to a surprising sight.
The entire crew sat at the dining table with a full course meal in front of them. Sanji quickly looked them up and down to see if anyone else was hurt. They all seem fine so what the hell happened?
With a sparkle in his eyes, Luffy squealed, "SANJI! Take a seat, we're about to get fed by a real life robot!" Usopp and Chopper cried out of excitement. Sanji stood there confused. Before he can say anything, he felt a presence come up behind him.
"Not a robot." You gently nudged the cook, moving him to the side, with a pot of food in your hand. You took a seat at the edge of the table and informed the cook, "I decided to cook dinner tonight. I would have woken you up but you didn't look too good."
You stood before him, mask on, cloak off. All at once, Sanji remembered about today's revelation. Of how you weren't a pervert... or a brother... or a man. Of how he kicked you... a woman... today... and the other day. Sanji felt faint again.
"Woah there buddy," you said as you saw how his eyes slowly started to roll back. You rushed towards him and guided him to the table. He sat at the edge with his head in his hands.
"Okay, everyone is here! Let's eat!" cried Luffy, immediately digging into the food. Realizing it was now or never, everyone else immediately started to fill their plates, leaving the cook and you alone at the edge of the table.
You felt bad for the man. You knew the truth wasn't going to be easy on him but you didn't expect him to look so broken. You weren't sure what to do.
Annoyed by his crew mates brooding, Zoro called out, "stop the sulking, will you? I don't even see what the big deal is."
Sanji shot up. "The big deal, pea brain, is that I... you... we... we all failed to treat our guest here as the divine creature she is," he declared. He dropped to his knees and begged for your forgiveness.
“Ah! Stop that!” you said as you picked him up.
"Failed? Maybe you did, but I did no such thing. I knew the pirate hunter was a woman," countered the swordsman.
"WHAT!" shrieked the cook. He couldn't believe his ears.
"I mean it was obvious," calmly added Jimbei. Luffy nodded in agreement as he stuffed his face.
"OBVIOUS?" Sanji stared at his crew in shock. "Okay, raise of hands, who knew that the Siren was a woman?" Jimbei, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Robin all raised their hands.
"I didn't care," cleared up Franky who didn't raise his hand.
"Don't feel too bad, Sanji. If it makes you feel any better, we also didn't know," comforted Brook as he, Chopper, and Usopp all failed to raise their hands. That only made Sanji feel worse.
You laughed at the cook's misfortune. "Look, don't even stress about it, okay? I kept it a secret on purpose," you reasoned. You being a woman does't change your actions from these past days so why should it change Sanji’s? You two reconciled so everything worked out at the end. Now in a playful tone, you continued, "so why don't you just eat my wonderful cooking and we can all go on with our lives like this doesn't matter, okay eyebrows?”
"Is that what you want?"
"Yes... please"
Taking a deep breath, Sanji sat down and began to eat. See now that wasn’t too hard, you thought as you made your plate.
-- -- --
“Who knew robot cooking would be so tasty,” exclaimed Luffy as he finished licking his plate.
“Again, not a robot but I’m glad you liked it,” you said. You got up to clear the table. However, before you could grab anything, Sanji ushered you to take a seat, assuring you that he had it.
“But I always clear the table,” you argued.
"And while I am grateful for that, I got it now, lou- sweetheart," responded Sanji.
You got ready to push back, but Zoro spoke up. "Let the pervert clear the table." And much to your surprise, Sanji didn't respond. He just glared at the swordsman and continued clearing the table. Something felt off. However, before you could do anything about it, Jimbei spoke up.
"So pirate hunter, since we're sharing secrets today, mind sharing your name with us?" asked the helmsman of the Strawhats. You quickly shared it with the crew. At this point, you already showed them your face, sharing your name wouldn't be the end of the world.
"Finally! Honestly it was hard calling you without using your name," admitted Nami. Robin just laughed.
"So any plans for when we land? Besides, you know, visiting your sister," asked the archeologist.
"Actually..." you started. You felt nervous. These past few days have been a blast and you weren't ready to end it here just yet. Hopefully you weren't overstepping. You cleared your throat and continued, "I was hoping you guys , if you could of course, would join my sister and I for dinner at our place after her surgery? I know--"
"Yes, of course," quickly responded Sanji. His forwardness caught you off guard. Even his crew members looked at him weirdly. He just ignored them and instead stared at you with a small smile. Something is not right, you observed.
"Thanks Sanji, but like I was saying, I know my sister would love to see Robin again and she's kinda like a big fan of you all."
"What do you mean a big fan?" asked Chopper, trying to ease the tension. Everyone turned their attention back to you, also unsure on what was happening. You took a deep breath. Your sister was going to kill you if she knew what you were about to share.
"Well, after Robin joined the crew, my sister kept tabs on you all. She cuts out any articles that talk about anyone here and even hangs your bounty posters on the wall. It's really cute honestly!" you shared.
"Then I guess we will. I'm always happy to please a fan," boasted Ussop as he posed haughtily. Everyone laughed at the sniper's stance.
As conversations started up again, you couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with the cook.

Fate Chapter 03. — New
Roronoa Zoro X OC X Trafalgar Law
The story tells about the encounter between Yuki and the Straw Hat Pirates from different worlds and different eras.
Tumblr media
In the evening, you get together with everyone for dinner and talk about a grand carnival that will be held on a certain island. When Luffy heard about the carnival, he took the opportunity to clamor to go there and have fun. Sanji and Chopper happened to have to fill up supplies, so the next destination was there.
Robin knew the destination, she took the opportunity to suggest buying you some daily necessities and clothes. Nami felt a little guilty that she felt sorry for giving you old clothes, but you really didn't mind.
After dinner you helped to sort out the dishes and take them to the kitchen for cleaning. You came to this world, they treated you well but you didn't give them anything in return. Thinking about it was better to start with basic chores first, which was better than idleness.
Washing so many dishes reminds you in the past there were just a few dishes in your own home, but now there are so many as if they were enough for a family. It’s the life you’ve been looking forward to spending with your lively family and friends.
Your family originally had you with your parents, but you were alone in the empty home. You are a little envious everyone always has their parents to accompany and play with them, but you are always alone.
Even if your parents leave Japan to work abroad, they will come home to celebrate your birthday. You are very happy from the bottom of your heart. Since then, you have been looking forward to their return home and reunion every day, but the reality is often cruel.
In the end, there was nothing to wait for. The door to the house was opened by no one but yourself.Recently learned how to cook curry rice and feel very proud of yourself and want to share with them.
Gradually, you discovered that they have not come back in recent years, the phone calls are no longer dialed immediately. The only way to confirm that both parents are still alive is to remit the amount to your account every month. The once-a-year birthday wish suddenly collapsed. .
As time goes by, you gradually no longer have any illusions and expectations. Go to school then come home on time to do your homework, work part-time during holidays, and watch anime or sleep in your free time.
Perhaps these reasons have caused you to become more withdrawn and unwilling to socialize. It may be that you are afraid that the loneliness of separation will be unbearable. Life must go through many setbacks, and you should probably learn to accept or reject them.
In order to numb your emotions, wake up every day and tell yourself must face everything with strength. In fact no one to rely on. Even wanted to seek comfort for a small matter, you see nothing but just an empty space when got home. You could only curl up on the sofa and cry silently.
It's hard to get used to being with the Straw Hat Pirates now. It's so lively and you feel out of place. You have been accustomed to loneliness and suddenly come to a strange but lively world. You are afraid of making the same mistakes again. The moment of happiness will gone again.
"Hey!"
You were jolted out of your thoughts by a shout "Hwah!"
"Why are you looking so sad~" Luffy tilted his head.
"Really?" Luffy saw through it immediately but you still kept smiling.
Luffy just stared at you with a pouted "Hmmmmm..."
"Luffy?" Luffy kept staring at you, and felt a pressure in your heart.
He put his hand on the straw hat smiled brightly, "You are no longer alone!"
You learned from Nami that Luffy is a relatively casual and simple person. He often yells and makes a fuss in a silly manner but is a very reliable person. Although his behavior is very strange, he can inexplicably sense the vulnerability deep in your heart.
"I know." You were so moved by what he said, you almost couldn't hold back your tears.
Luffy seems like a sunny boy who can warm people's hearts. You have to cheer up, you are no longer the lonely person you were before, now you have the Straw Hat Pirates with you.
Luffy left happily after chatting with you. After that you organize all the washed dishes put them in the cupboard one by one. Some large plates are stored in high cabinets. You pull up a chair and stand up, holding several plates placing them carefully.
"Need a help?" Zoro's voice came from behind you.
Thinking that there were still a few plates that you could put away, so you politely refused him, "There's just a little more. It's almost done."
Zoro hadn't left yet just stood at the table with his arms crossed. He actually just heard the conversation between you and Luffy outside the door. He had a vague feeling that Luffy noticed something was wrong with you, and he walked in out of curiosity.
He was purely wishful thinking, and his body followed you unconsciously. He has a premonition that you may appear and disappear at any time, as you said, you may suddenly return to your own world.
He wants to hold on to you and not let go. Once he lets go, you will really disappear from his world. This also means from now on, the two of you will really be friends who can never meet again in different worlds.
He knows very well that he cannot control your appearance, because it is an unknown ability that brings you. He knows that since that ability can bring you, it can take you away at any time.
"I'm done!" You get off the chair.
Your voice brought him back to the present "Oh, good."
"Zoro, are you okay?" You stood in front of him to make sure he was okay.
He took a step back and looked away, "I'm fine."
"Liar. You don't look okay at all." His expression clearly showed that he was uneasy.
He was very annoyed when you poked a sore spot "Tch."
"Zoro...do you have something to say to me?" You don't know if it's your imagination, but you want to know what Zoro is thinking now.
He couldn't help but think about it, but after thinking about it he felt strange. Should he ask or not? He still compromised. He clenched the scabbard in his hand to calm himself, "I want to ask... if have the opportunity to return to your World, will you go back?"
His question poked deep into your heart. You had indeed thought about this question. If you could really make your own choice, what would you choose, whether you would go back or stay.
"You don't need to answer, I'm just asking casually." Zoro noticed that your expression had changed, he think about it and quickly change the subject with you.
Zoro looked a little flustered. You knew in your heart that he wanted to end the topic, but the question he asked was indeed a question that you had to think about and choose. "You are right to ask, it is the question I should be thinking about."
"Oh..." Zoro was a little at a loss because you didn't change the topic.
Zoro gives you the impression he is someone who knows right from wrong. Coupled with his super combat power and keen insight, he is like the strongest support for the entire team.
You believe that he has seen through your inner doubts before asking you this question. You don't hate the fact that he is straightforward and cares about other people's feelings. Getting along with him makes you feel much more at ease.
"If I could choose whether to go back or not...Zoro, as long as you ask me to stay, I will definitely stay." You haven't figured out how to answer yet, so you tell him in a naughty tone.
Zoro's current expression is one of surprise with eyes wide open "Huh!?"
"Hahaha, I'm kidding. I just haven't figured out the answer yet. I'll tell you as soon as I think about it." Zoro's reaction is really cute. You smile and answer your current thoughts.
He didn't know why felt an impulse surge in his heart for a moment, and he told himself to calm down in annoyance. Zoro, who was now in a good mood, just smiled softly and touched your forehead with his finger, "Idiot."
"Hehehe." You continued without saying anything and just laughed in front of him.
"Yuki-chwan~ Do you need my help?~" Sanji wanted to sneak in to take a look at you, but Zoro was there. He immediately rushed over stand between you and Zoro. "Hey! Marimo! You want to do something to Yuki-chwan again? !"
"Huh? What are you talking about again..." Zoro was indeed a little impatient.
You gently moved your fingers on Sanji's shoulders, "I've done the dishes."
Sanji turned around and saw your face so close. His eyes turned into loving hearts and his hands were waving in the air, "Thank you~ Yuki-chwan~ You must have been working very hard today~"
You shook your head, "No. I just want to thank you for hosting me."
Sanji raised your hand and put it under his lips. "No, it's actually just my wishful thinking that I want to be nice to you."
You are not good at dealing with Sanji's personality. You know that he treats you out of kindness. Although you are very happy but is difficult to adapt and strange suddenly have such special treatment.
You want to stop but you don't know how to say it. It would be rude. While you were troubled, Zoro went to the cupboard to get a tall pot and covered Sanji's head to plunge him into darkness.
Zoro pushed Sanji away then grabbed your hand with a wicked smile "Let's go."
"Hahaha..." You were frightened by his actions but amused.
You both fled the kitchen together leaving poor Sanji with a tall pot on his head and yelling "Damn Marimooooooo!"
You escaped to the front of the boat and made sure Sanji didn't catch you. Then you breathed a sigh of relief and found a place to sit down. Thanks to Zoro for saving, otherwise you really don’t know how to refuse.
You two looked at each other, and couldn't help but burst into laughter holding stomachs. Although sorry for Sanji, the scene of the head being covered just now was really hilarious.
After you finished laughing, you sat there stared at the night sky in a daze. It's incredible to be able to look at the sky in the middle of the sea. It's like the sky and the sea are so close but so far away visually.
The vast sky and sea may seem calm and beautiful, they can never erase your feeling of loneliness and helplessness. Frankly speaking, you are actually very scared when you enter another strange world.
Fear is normal. Coming to a strange world, woke up in a sea, suddenly sank into the sea, with a talking reindeer, a singing skeleton and all kinds of weirdos.
The emotions you were holding back surged up in your heart in an instant. You hugged your legs rested your forehead on your knees. You wanted to cry but hold back the tears because Zoro was sitting next to you and didn't want to affect him by your emotion.
Zoro touches you "Are you sleepy?"
You just shake your head.
He is annoyed by the way you are silent now and doesn't understand what he should do. He is not good at comforting and expressing his thoughts. He is more like the type who silently protects people from behind, but now he can only give it a try.
"Erm...the night is particularly beautiful today?" Zoro muttered but so embarrassed by what he said.
You raised your head and looked at him with dumbfounded eyes. Although there were tears in your eyes, what he said caught your attention. You tilted your head and wondered why he suddenly said such embarrassing words.
Zoro was startled and there were tears in your eyes. He was wondering if he had said the wrong thing, but he just said it casually. He scratched his head and couldn't understand.
You wiped your tears "What are you doing?"
"It's nothing. Don't pay attention to me." He relieved his embarrassment and looked at the sky.
You can probably guess from Zoro's reaction that he is not very good at expressing himself. He looks cool and strong, but he is very gentle and considerate, he doesn't show it. You know that he cares about what's going on, and you are really happy.
You smiled slightly, "I'm just a little scared, being in a strange world. Being alone in a world I'm not familiar with..."
Zoro interrupted before you could finish your sentence. "You are no longer alone."
His words moved you to tears. You tried to wipe away your tears but were stopped by Zoro's hand. Instead, he was wiping away your tears. You said nothing and just watched him comfort you with this small gesture.
"Thank you." You simply said.
He took back his hand and faced you, "You might as well tell me..."
You hesitated for a moment. Since everyone is Nakama, it doesn't matter if you tell him. If he wants to listen, let him listen. If he doesn't want to, just go away.
You clasped your hands and pondered for a moment before you started to say, "I miss my parents. I don't know if they miss me."
"Huh?" he asked.
"My parents and I are separated in two places. I am alone in Japan, and they work abroad, so I cannot see them often. I can only contact them by making phone calls."
"But... gradually I can't contact them anymore. I only know that my parents will remit money to me every month. Now I am in this world, I feel very warm. Everybody here who have filled my loneliness."
You looked down at your legs with tears in your eyes and your vision began to blur.
"So whether your parents are still alive, you only know through that thing called remittance..." Zoro doesn't understand what remittance means, but he probably understands you.
You nodded slightly, "Yes. Obviously we are a family but I feel very lonely. So I am very curious whether they will miss me and whether they will be sad when their daughter disappears suddenly."
"I don't know your parents' thoughts or reasons for alienating you. Now we have filled your loneliness, you can enjoy this world start from today on." Zoro crossed his hands and looked at you smile slightly.
You rested your head on his shoulder and closed your eyes "Zoro...you are so gentle."
"Ha!" He was a little embarrassed but not disgusted with you leaned on his shoulder.
"Huh..." A slight snoring sound was heard.
Zoro glanced at you "No way! Did you really fall asleep?!"
He poked your cheek saw that you were not awake. He scratched his head and was worried. He really couldn't do anything to you, he would wait until you were completely asleep before taking you back to the room. He was just chatting with you, but you fell asleep comfortably, leaving him alone in embarrassment.
His clothes expose his chest muscles, he can vaguely feel the warmth of your breath transmitted to him. He pinched his own wrist to suppress the turmoil in his heart. You are just a girl but you can make him feel itchy.
The one-line collar top reveals your fragrant shoulders and collarbones, your hair has a light floral fragrance, and your body moves with the rhythm of your breathing. You looked so innocent sleeping on the shoulder of a beast like him.
"Unsuspecting idiot." He lifted your hair.
Suddenly you rub his shoulder and say, "Zo...ro..."
"Damn...!" He covered his face.
He picked you up while you were sleeping, your face resting on his chest, and he felt the warmth of your breath getting closer and closer. He pushed open your door with his shoulder, walked in, gently and carefully placed you on the bed.
"Cute sleeping face." He poked your cheek several times.
When he stood up to leave the room, he heard "Zo...ro..." It was you moaning.
He sighed loudly and walked to your bedside pull up a chair and sit down. Your unsuspecting and innocent appearance aroused a burning desire in his heart. He clenched his fists told himself to calm down.
But he finally couldn't bear the feeling of saying his name from your mouth. He slowly stood up held your hand. His slowly came closer to your lips. He realize that your face was close and really beautiful at first glance.
When he couldn't resist the urge in his heart and wanted to kiss you secretly, you suddenly turned over and slept on the other side. He was fortunate realize that he almost made a mistake to you and immediately fell into embarrassment.
"What the hell am I doing..." He stood up and stood by the door, holding the doorknob.
After he calms down, leaves your room and goes outside to relax. He went to the kitchen get a bottle of wine and find Franky who was guarding at night. He sat down and started drinking heavily. He almost kissed you by mistake just now, but luckily he controlled it.
"Can't you sleep?" Franky adjusted his robot hand.
He put down the wine"Well, drink some wine so that can sleep better."
"What's wrong with you? Your ears are a little red. Do you have a fever?" Franky pointed to his ears.
"A little drunk." He said Franky casually.
Franky became suspicious and found it hard to believe, "You drunk?"
Zoro realized that he seemed have said the wrong thing, he chose to avoid the question and continued drinking his wine. Franky vaguely noticed something was wrong with Zoro, but he ignored it and continued to do his own thing.
As time passed little by little, it was already morning time. You was tired from getting used to the new environment and cleaning yesterday so slept for a long time, longer than usual.
Someone was running in the corridor, and the sound was getting closer to your room. Luffy opened your door and shouted, "Get up! Breakfast!"
You don't feel very angry when you wake up just your face looks bad every time you wake up. You lifted the quilt and sat up from the bed, glaring at Luffy who was standing there with a silly smile. Your eyes were sharp, but Luffy felt a fierce aura coming towards from you.
"Bye!" Then he ran away without closing the door.
You looked around realized there was your soft bed in your room, but why was the wooden chair next to your bed? It was obviously placed next to the wardrobe. Maybe you pulled it over yesterday and forgot about it.
You get out of bed leave the room and look up to see a clear sky with the sun shining brightly. The sun is not that close to you at home, but now you feel that the sun here is really bright.
Because the sun was very dazzling, you covered your eyes with hands and went to look for other companions. You see Ussop, Chopper and Luffy hanging out together. Robin sat alone and read a book silently.
You walked up to Robin, she patted the empty space with her hand to signal you sit down. You sat down and opened your mouth to yawn. You admired Luffy for being so energetic and lively so early.
"Oh, didn't you get enough sleep?" Robin closed the book.
"I'm not used to waking up early~" You yawned and fell asleep on her shoulder.
Robin looked at your behavior this morning and snickered, "Hehehe, so cute."
She continues to read her book quietly without disturbing you. Nami greeted everyone before walking towards where you and Robin were. Nami sat next to you and leaned back in the chair, chatting quietly with Robin.
"Such a soft face!" Nami poked your cheek gently.
Robin laughed "Hehehe."
"The hair is so messy. This little girl must not have combed her hair when she woke up." Nami ran her fingers through your hair.
Robin waved "Nami..."
Nami understood Robin's idea and nodded.
The two of them secretly used a comb and hair tie to create a new hairstyle for you while you were still asleep. Brook and Sanji came around to join in the fun.
You vaguely felt many eyes staring at you, making you uncomfortable. You opened your eyes slightly saw Chopper sitting on your lap. You were surprised why Sanji had love eyes and Brook covered his mouth with hands.
You felt a cool breeze blowing on your neck. You didn't remember that you had your hair tied up when you went out. Robin and Nami were sitting next to you and kept smiling. Did they do something to your hair?
Chopper took out a mirror for you to look at, and you saw a double braid look. You were not good at braiding hairstyles, so you simply tied a ponytail every day. Now you liked the new look very much.
"Nami! Robin! Thank you!" You smiled.
Robin smiled slightly and said, "As long as you like it."
Nami likes "Let's us braid your hair from now on~"
"It suits you very well~Yuki-chwan~" Sanji praised you with loving eyes.
You looked in the mirror and stroked your braided hair. The two of them were really good at creating such complicated styles. You saw Zoro coming over with a yawn, and you handed the mirror back to Chopper.
Zoro yawned "Hwahh~ Why are you gathering here?"
"What do you think of Yuki's hairstyle?" Ussop pointed at you.
He glanced at you and held out his hand with a chuckle, "Yeah, it fits."
"Hehehe" you smiled and let him stroke your hair.
"Hey~ I saw the island!" Franky informed the two of you who were chatting.
Luffy immediately jumped up "Yahoooooo~Island~"
You looked the direction of an island pointed by Franky. Ussop handed you a telescope to let you see more clearly. Through the telescope, you saw many ships docked at the island's pier.
There are a lot of colorful decorations on the pier, which is a custom of the island's carnival. You put away telescope and prepare for the fun time to come with anticipation and excitement.
Zoro stood behind saw you and Chopper looking very expectant and excited. He was secretly happy. To be honest, he was really looking forward to arriving at the island as soon as possible. Maybe it was your reason that infected him.
To Be Continued—

Sabine swore she'd never felt fear until the day darkness drowned her senses— that with faith, everything happened as it was meant to. But now, she isn't quite sure what to feel anymore amidst her constant drowning. Waking in the night drenched in sweat, gasping for air as the thin paled fingers of mother night clasped around her neck. All to lay frigid, stare up at the ceiling in hopes the visions, the memories of that trip, would leave her be. Because peace was never known since her mother's death and her sentencing to the monastery, Sabine knew that much.
Forced to adapt to survive, even whilst serving for faith she wholeheartedly loved, believed in.
A bright smile clad her lips as she studied the patrons of Baratie's bar. Such an unusual, loud place, different from anywhere she'd have found herself prior to joining Luffy. Never a reason to drink. Never a reason to willingly be with drunken patrons- primarily men unable to keep their hands to themselves. Music rang incessantly in her ears as it shook her to the core, vibrations from the wooden bar humming against her forearms. A glass of wine sat primarily untouched in front of her, every few minutes she'd be forcing herself to take a sip, too proud to admit the taste made her sick.
Sabine can't help but laugh as she kept Usopp in the corner of her gaze, his dancing (stumbling) form kept her grounded. At least she could focus on something other than her strong wine and the conversation back at the table between Nami and Zoro. The music was fun. The atmosphere was relaxing enough to forget about Luffy stuck with dish duty— but not relaxing enough for her to forget about oaths and promises, temporary vows alike. Late nights of internal conversations on how she'd never be such a heathen to wear dresses showing ankles or being one of the girls who drank straight from the bottle. Rigid expectations from a father who'd do anything to hold the women close to him down... yet Sabine, as regressed into her younger traumatized self as she was in the moment, was able to enjoy the craziness. That maybe self hatred towards the ideas propagandized in her mind, were simply scare tactics keeping her from the world.
Because Sabine was becoming anew! Cocooning herself up and waiting for her grand reveal to blossom like a butterfly with wings of crystal. Mind and body.
The guilt thrusted upon her shoulders was unfair. Because serving the Father didn't mean starving herself or praying half the day. She could still be as dedicated with a wine glass in hand showing some skin than as a nun- what mattered was how she morally lived. Right? So Sabine picked the glass up with determination and tilted it back.
While her face contorted in displeasure from the taste, a figure had been watching her from across Baratie's bar. A man with golden eyes had looked upon her the second he arrived and he knew she'd be the only one worth seeing for the rest of time. Finding a smile peak on his lips as she struggled to even sip her wine, was adoring. How her long locks, large doe eyes, porcelain skin with the smile of an angel accentuated her- willed him to walk to her and forget the reason he was in the floating fish restaurant.
"Too strong little one?"
The sudden voice from behind made her flinch, a tremble in her hand almost causing her to drop the glass.
Sabine looked to her right, only to be met with intense golden irises peering down at her. A soft gasp escaped her lips as the air was ripped right from her throat, "Y-Yeah, could say that." was all she mustered to say with a hesitant tone.
His aura was... strong. Like a swirling energy of raw power and skill that could only be sufficed by golden rays and the burgundy of blood. For not even the strongest of pirates that pleaded mercy at the monastery's temple could match this man. Sabine could tell that from being in his bubble alone. And with the fabric of her dress brushing along that of his coat, it was almost as if their skin was touching instead. She swallowed hard- bile begrudgingly going down from the sudden tightening of her chest.
"Allow me," Their fingers brushed up against one another as he took the wine glass, bringing it to his lips. His eyes never left hers as the maroon liquid went past his lips, "Hm, dry, too bitter for someone who I imagine has no drinking experience."
"Ah you got me there. That obvious? I didn't know what to order, it sounded fancy."
Sabine watched him whilst a sneaky blush crept up on every inch of her skin. With a simple flick of the man's wrist, the bartender pranced over to take the order like a fire lit under his ass, "Mm, a late harvest white, something sickeningly sweet this one would enjoy."
"Oh! Sir you really needn't," Sabine countered in a feeble attempt to stop the bartender.
He raised a brow, as he placed berry on the bar top, "No bother. If this were somewhere I frequented I could give a recommendation. But suppose this will have to do," And as he finished speaking, the bartender returned with a freshly popped bottle, pouring it into the glass as he swirled in short movements.
The whole scenario felt like a strange case of deja vu, a fluttering in her chest as she carefully took a sip of the white wine. Burning up from the heavy gaze watching, she found resolve in the cooler liquid that made her taste buds jump for joy. The sweet nectar of peach- or maybe apricot- then the tang of the fact it was wine, had been exactly what she needed. Her head buzzed like taking a quick drag of a cigarette, which practically dragged her back to the hidden grounds of the monastery where her teen self traipsed to smoke. Sabine couldn't stop the involuntary smile that upturned her lips.
With an appreciative nod she spoke, "Thank you," Nervously she leaned the glass towards him, "Would you like to try it?"
He indulged in her worlds. The pink still rising from her neck to her cheeks enamored him. And how she naturally moved in so their clothed arms brushed.
"Not of my taste but perfect for you."
The soft dulcet of his manly voice made her stomach flutter as her eyes glued to his frame, studying every inch before embarrassment hit. To elude temptation she looked away, the imprint of his shirtless chest etching its way into her brain. A stranger having such pull over her made her knees weaken.
"And your name?"
"Sabine.”
"You do intrigue me." he said bluntly with a slight chuckle, "my name is Mihawk, dear."
"Well I should be introducing myself as Sister Mary Sabine, my truest apologies." Sabine blushed, out of awkwardness bringing the glass to her lips as to shake off the way he made her feel. Though the same glass his lips had touched moments prior. Temptation lived in this world she knew all too well, and she hoped admitting her place in the sisterhood would alleviate her from the butterflies in her chest.
"Oh?" A thick brow raised at her, his golden eyes looking her up and down, "A Sister drinking?"
"I've only taken my temporary vows.." Her voice grew soft as the sweet liquid burned her throat in a delicious way, "I'm on a sabbatical."
Even as a Warlord, a pirate, Mihawk liked to consider himself a gentleman in some respects. A man able to see intricacies behind people's eyes, "We all have our pasts, don't we?"
"Yeah, could say that," She shuffled her feet in place before changing the topic, "And you- you bear crosses... are you a man of faith?" Pursing her lips, her eyes flickered to the cross that sat on his bare chest. To her it glittered amongst surroundings that she deemed dull compared to him.
"I am not. My faith lies in my sword. In myself."
"You don't look like a marine." The words spilled from her tongue, figuring a man traipsing with such a weapon had to have worked for the government. He didn't 'scream' pirate by any means either.
"Because I am not."
"Was going to say, didn't think they issued new uniforms as showy as that," Sabine attempted to joke but he showed no reaction towards it, just a simple twitch of his top lip as if he were stifling a response.
Sabine looked towards her friends, mainly blocked by the crowds of other patrons, feeling a wave of emotion wash over her. A numbing comfort settling in her mind that kept her eyes from flickering over. The feelings were difficult to discern for a second. Her mind flashes to a time when a man brazenly hit on her even when she kept trying to leave. This was different. As suddenly even drunk Usopp seemed to fall down her list of current importance.
"Can I ask—" Mihawk began as he felt his heart clench, "What you're doing out here, with no signs of your vows evident? Regardless of being temporary."
"Hard hitting questions right from the start.." She shrugged, chin ducking from his intimate gaze to take a long sip of the clear liquid, "It's complicated. I'm on sabbatical to figure out what I want. It's been eight years and I still haven't taken my permanent vows. That's the short response, one I'm okay to share."
He nodded, "I see. So you find yourself at an establishment like this?"
"Guess so. We just stumbled upon this place- the crew I'm traveling with. A good bunch and a break from the sea was needed."
"You're not traveling with pirates, are you?"
"Not exactly, maybe self proclaimed ones, I'll have to see for myself. They're all lovely. I'm older than them though, yet it seems they have more experience than I." Sabine drawled out, a slight slurring forming with her words as her mind buzzed, "So, what 'bout you?"
"A lofty question."
"I told you about me!" Sabine countered with a teasing grin, pushing up on her tip-toes only to be leveled with the cross on his chest. So she craned her neck up, able to taste the alcohol on his breath. She relished, for a second, in how his eyes twitched wider before he regained composure. Mihawk was warm against the slight wind that made her shiver, enough so she kept getting subconsciously closer.
"Suppose you did, little dove," What to tell her? For once Mihawk wanted to make a good lasting impression, one that'd have her reeling in awe in the morning, not fearful, "I'm sure you've met some of the worst our society has to offer, no?"
"You could say that. You're one of them- is that what you're saying?"
"Precisely."
"You.. don't feel like them,"
"No?"
They shifted, Mihawk caught the shutter of her body, how the showing skin erupted in goose bumps. He moved so he blocked her from the wind, which blocked her from the outside, so her attention lived upon him.
"No." Sabine frowned, "But maybe I'm not the best judge of character. I've had men cry at my feet begging for forgiveness, going on about the people they've killed or stolen from, raped. And not just adversaries engaging in similar behavior- women and children too. simply because they're bored. What do pirates gain going on land to destroy villages? Pirates should stick to the seas... Oh." she swallowed hard realizing how much the alcohol was getting to her, "That all spilled out, I apologize. But I don't always think pirates are bad now, I understand the want for freedom and collateral not meaning much. Our world isn't as black and white as I always assumed, something my quick time away has shown me."
"If you really are traveling with some, you're in for a rude awakening Sister. Don't be hypocritical," Perhaps it was the alcohol, but she swore there was a teasing tone to his words, "But maybe you've always known our world isn't so straight laced."
"Hm, I guess the intricacies of pirating slips me at times." She hummed with a flash of her mothers murder by pirates ingraining in her brain, only to be zapped away as Mihawk's voice dragged her from going down that road, "And maybe you're right on the second point too, don't know."
"You have much to experience it seems."
"Yep, five months left.." Sabine lamented before she snapped back to the hectic bar of Baratie, the music echoing in her head. With a semi panicked look, she blinked furiously with tingling extremities. But as soon as her eyes meet Mihawk again, she's drawn right back to his orbit, "Wait! I interrupted you, tell me about yourself. I'm not super interesting."
"I find you interesting dear, don't discredit yourself. But I'll put it simply, I'm a former pirate." Not a lie. But not the entire truth.
"Mmm, well if you're anything like the crew I'm with, maybe you're not too bad." She internally cringed at her words, like it was a bad attempt at flirting.
"You shouldn't be so trusting." Mihawk tsk'd with a clicking of his tongue.
"Then I should ask you to leave me be, mysterious man with a gigantic sword." Innocently she brushed stray hairs from her face behind her ear, giggling as she kept eye contact with him. Watching her made his loins burn as he swallowed hard.
Mihawk made her eyes glitter like the galaxies holding trillions of stars. How her lips began to stain from different wines, yet never once did her bashful grin falter. And he perceived it all. Easily recognizing her reactions towards him, yet the warlord couldn't see his own. Mihawk looked ridiculous in that sense. The Tips of his ears were red. Body tense as his fingers inched towards her. Oh how their sanity was nothing as auras pulled them together like a tractor beam.
'As if they were meant to meet,' a simple ridiculous thought swirling in both their clouded minds.
Sabine was a giggling mess after another few glasses, and Mihawk hadn't meant to drink this much on a job commissioned by the marines. He wasn't a weak man by any means, but Sabine was doing things to him he didn't know how to work through. As she giggled on talking about herself and stories, attempting to draw out information from him, he slowly began to memorize every centimeter and crevice of her. The most beautiful woman in all the seas, while Mihawk didn't like wrenches thrown in his plans... and Sabine was a giant wrench at that... he was barreling down the tracks of no return.
Was he weak? Was time without a bounty as a warlord finally catching up? Mihawk wondered if he was losing his touch, that this nun was a sign of that. Almost humorous he'd be enchanted by a woman that'd eventually be married to the Father.
"I'm being so serious!" She giggled all cute with a scrunch of her nose and dilated pupils. Her hand moved to his left bicep, as he'd taken a new spot beside her sometime during their long conversation. Newly empty tiny glasses from flights as the two tried Baratie's sets of wines, "It's totally going to work."
"It is not, dear. You're ridiculous,"
"M-mm," She shook her head with a happy go lucky grin, "You're too stiff! Like Sister Cecelia, I swear to you, she's been there a hundred years."
"Oh? And don't you want to be that ancient nun who still walks the halls of the temple?" A teasing quip left his tongue,
"Very funny! Suppose we all end that way in one respect.”
The look in his eyes, the feeling of his fingers sent shivers down her spine. Was he acting? Was this one of those situations of a man just trying to get her into bed? No, she was sure in Mihawk simply being curious. The mysterious, large man with a larger than life sword. Her heart hammered in her ribcage feeling as if it was about to burst as she searched his golden irises. She knew when people lied. She knew the false senses of redemption and pleas to be forgiven. She knew how to spot a bad man in her monastery the second one walked through the doors. And she found none of that within him. Pacifistic eyes that had a fire behind them. A man with goals, power, intelligence. Was she being dramatic? Too enchanted by her intimate encounter with him? Was it the alcohol? How warm he made her feel with a cloak of protection? Strange how her core and chest burned for him as he flagged down the waiter to order her a water, swaying with the smallest of grin on her lips.
"You'll be thankful for this tomorrow," he said with a knowing tone bringing the glass to her mouth, carefully tilting it back to watch it go past her red lips.
Taking the glass from him as she drank the water, the cooling liquid soothing her throat and warm body. Helped her flustered self cool off, "Thank you, you're too kind. Is there any way I could pay you back? For tonight."
"Meeting you was more than enough- especially for a man like me. You deserve peace of mind, little dove."
Sabine nodded, over analyzing his words— peace of mind. She did deserve that in life, in the upcoming decision that was slowly creeping up with time. His words meant more than he'd know, even as a stranger.
"Thank you," She slurred, feeling misty eyed. The alcohol was making her emotional, all that wine settling in as she felt dizzied. 'She would be an emotional drunk', she thought to herself as her lips quivered.
And for a second Mihawk reached out to trace along her jawline, but a drunken familiar boy's voice broke the trance.
Sabine's head snapped in the direction of Usopp, where he sat spread out on a barstool, beer in hand. She grimaced stumbling forward his way as he drunkenly droned on of his bravery and pirating antics- when it hadn't been the case. Half lidded eyes as he swung about his beer with a loose grip had her practically hopping over to him and away from Mihawk.
"And then they aimed their biggest, baddest cannons at us. But I wasn't scared, being that I'm the best shot in the East Blue. So I fired at 'em." He slurred as he imitated an explosion, "And again." More hand signals, "And again. Boom, boom, boom. Down goes their yard. Marines dead in the water. All thanks to the great Captain Usopp."
"So you're the captain?" Mihawk showed interest, veering back to Sabine's side as she approached the drunk boy.
"Um.." Sabine coughed as she sent a look towards Usopp, one he was oblivious to.
"But I did distract them so that Luffy, who's, like, the official captain, could bounce that ball back. Boom."
"Usopp," She slurred, grabbing at his coat jacket, "Let's quiet down..."
"You know him?" Mihawk turned his attention back to Sabine. Oh how luck appeared to be on his side! An angel in his midst- a stunning woman of poise and intellect, happened to be connected to his person of interest.
"I- do," She spoke hesitantly, eyeing the two, trying to decipher what was going on. She was reeling from confusion and helplessness.
"I would like to meet this- Luffy." Mihawk turned back to Usopp.
"Okay," Usopp shrugged like it was the most normal thing, "Hell come meet the rest of our crew!"
"Usopp!" She whisper-yelled his way, "You've drank far too much,"
"But so have you!" Usopp laughed back, waving her off as he led Mihawk towards a table where two straw hats sat.
"What in the.." Sabine grumbled to herself wondering how this had escalated. She sauntered behind the pair, squinting as she moved amongst a dancing crowd bumping into shoulders.
"Guys, meet my new best friend. What did you say your name was again?" Usopp cocked his head as they'd reached their destination, looking like a squash-able ant besides Mihawk, who carried an emotionless look.
"Which one of you is Monkey D. Luffy?" Mihawk interrupted, not bothering for niceties.
"Who wants to know?" Nami countered, body language becoming tense and alert.
"You're Dracule Mihawk." An ominous silence took over as Zoro stood, eyes growing dark as his hand went right to the hilts of his swords.
"I have business with your captain. If you know what's good for you, you'll hand him over."
"We don't know anyone named Luffy. Right, Zoro?" Nami said, "Zoro?"
"I've been following your career since I was a child. It's an honor to finally meet you, sir."
"Thank you."
Career? Sabine looked to Mihawk then to Zoro, attempting to understand what was going on. Zoro looked up to a former pirate? Then she realized she hadn't the slightest clue who she'd spent over an hour with at the bar. Her stomach dropped.
"Which is why it pains me to inform you that tomorrow... you're going to die." The moss-haired crew mate said with determination.
"Wait, what?" Sabine exclaimed, stepping towards them, "Zoro!"
"I, Roronoa Zoro, challenge you to a duel to the death."
"I've never heard of you." Mihawk tilted his head of curiosity turning to face Zoro, yellowed eyes brimming from underneath his hat.
"They call me the Demon Pirate Hunter. But my lifelong dream is to best you in single combat and become the greatest swordsman in the world."
"You're serious." Mihawk replied with an almost amused tone.
"Accept my challenge. You'll see how serious I am."
"Very well. Tomorrow at dawn. And when I'm done with you, pirate hunter, I'll take your captain." And it was his final words before gallivanting off. The music of Baratie is still bumping through the restaurant, yet not encompassing the group's mood.
"What the hell did you just do?" Nami yelled, furious.
Yet Sabine stood sobered up and flabbergasted, watching Mihawk leave without a second look her way. Her mouth felt dry as a desert, stomach on the floor from mixed emotions. It happened so fast and she hadn't a second to comprehend it fully as her heart hammered in her ribs.
Zoro was going to die. Nami made it very apparent as everyone met back on the ship with Luffy- frustrated pleas and opinions filling the air.
Within the moments of him declaring a duel, Sabine found out who Dracule Mihawk was. A warlord. The strongest swordsman.
Sabine hugged her arms to her chest as she only listened, gaze on the floor. Regardless of her heavy eyelids and the grogginess from having been drunk, then forcibly sober. Shaken as she felt the ghostly simple touches from Mihawk on her, that still had chills racing down her spine.
"You okay?" Nami whispered to her as they left to their shared quarters.
"Ask me tomorrow, afterwards."
Nami nodded, yet the knowledge of her coming exit loomed over her and her alone.
Sabine felt guilty as she laid in her bed staring at the ceiling, wondering if Mihawk was as taken with her as she was with him. Especially since he'd be dueling Zoro in the morning. She couldn't stop thinking if his heart belonged to someone else.. that crazy giddy infatuation from first meeting someone with endless possibilities without responsibility. For Sabine had crushes as a young girl like any other. She'd fallen in love with a young un-vowed priest in a whirlwind, forbidden love affair after he stole her first kiss... but this was tantalizing. Nothing like it as she smiled to herself feeling like a giddy school girl once more.
That night as she drifted off, she let herself indulge in daydreams about Mihawk, knowing tomorrow would be the final time she'd get to lay eyes upon him. Then she'd be back to reality.

Now that I'm reading One Piece, let me say this: even when I think One Piece is better written, the comparison between both mangas in their pre timeskip period is often done poorly.
Naruto decides to be immediately a more explicit and visceral story in terms of cruelty, with a main cast of 12 year old children. While One Piece takes its time building the foundation for its characters and future arcs, Naruto jumps right into the issue at hand. The first chapter is practically spelling it out to you, the reason why Naruto could and even should be a villain, given the circumstances. He's a sad sight, the loneliness and general dark feelings coating Naruto as a story are strong from the very start. I'm not saying that One Piece doesn't have a lot of dark themes and feelings too, but Oda style is to use comedy and good humor to balance it first. One Piece is lighter at the beginning.
For example, compare the East Blue saga and the Land of the Waves arc. Unfair, I know, but I want to prove a certain point here.
Each arc of the East Blue has a bit of cruelty in it, the worst being Arlong Park. In the 3 first arcs, when Luffy meets his three first nakamas, we can say it is more comedy than tragedy. No one dies, there is cruelty and battles, but it's kept on the "safe side". The villains are shown to be more "evil" than anything else. Morgan, Buggy and Kuro are pirates after all. Then they reach the Baratie and things start to get serious. Sanji's backstory is heavy (everything Sanji and Zeff went through is dark, from the starvation to the amputation and the grey scale of their animosity turned bond). You have the first hint at Nami's complexity as a character, you get a taste of the Grand Line in the Mihawk and Zoro encounter where Zoro almost dies, there's explicit sacrifice...
Like I said, Arlong Park is the worst of it all. The story of the town, of Bell-Mere and her children, of what the fish-men did to Nami... It would be incorrect to say that comedy is out aside. First of all, because one of the most common purposes of comedy is to build the ground for drama. You will need a light mood to present the gravity of the situation at hand. The reader must be desperate to see the characters laughing and joking again, to recover the good times, to preserve the bonds and friendships. All the previous arcs needed to be so silly for Arlong Park to be impactful. Nami lived through hell. There's war and discrimination, abuse, manipulation, government corruption and betrayal. I'd never dare to say it's a light arc.
With Naruto, it's like they went straight to their own Arlong Park. It doesn't get clearer than the explanation Tazuna gave about what was going on with Kato and the bridge. They step out of the gates and there's an assassination attempt where Kakashi pretends to get explicitly murdered in front of the kids so he can figure out what they're dealing with. You have the story of how the local town hero was basically crucified to get his arms ripped by Kato's men. Hell, before all of these you have things like the Uchiha massacre and Sasuke saying his goal is to kill someone.
Then the top of the cake: Zabuza and Haku. They end up dead, both of them. Suddenly the enemy is not just "evil" or "ambitious" but also very very human. Kids killing kids or refusing to kill kids, it's a nightmare. Kakashi kills Haku with a chidori to the chest and the manga lingers on the blood of it all. There's a panel when Sasuke takes a hit meant for Naruto— the visual impact is insane. That one panel of Naruto awakening the kyubi's chakra and threatening to kill Haku? This is not a story about pirates and treasures and dreams. This is a story about survival and murder and duty, where a kid happens to want to dream above all the misery of his world.
Compare now the Arabasta saga and the Chuning Exams. Both are about politics, foul play to take a country/hidden village down, how normal people are nothing but pieces of a bigger game, how the world is baster and more dangerous than anyone could ever imagine.
The difference is that the straw hats choose to participate and choose how to do so. Every step is one they take conscious of the risk. They are teenagers still, sure, but they have their agency and they're powerful enough to not let anyone else push them around. They're at the heart of the conflict, they know what's going on behind the curtains. One Piece is about freedom, something that people in Naruto clearly lack. Even when there's death and sacrifices and a lot of cruelty, it's shown differently than in Naruto.
Team 7 gets thrown into the mess of Konoha's crush knowing nothing. The Chunning Exams are a shit show. The horror of Orochimaru and the cursed mark, the Hyuuga's plotline about family branches and slavery, arms exploding, Rock Lee's fight, Hiruzen's death, Gaara's backstory... Team 7 (at least the kids) move on such a different scale. It's terrifying. The Chunning Exams are war in a micro scale, designed to keep the power balance using their lower class soldiers, children included.
I can keep going, but well. I feel like I made my point clear with this post.
While Naruto's story pace is faster, the characters and the themes aren't rushed per se. It fits that in a world in constant conflict, things keep coming faster and the characters can't catch a break. The journey of the straw hats allows them more time to build the foundations of the crew, going from island to island. The way the stories are told are different too, so it'd be futile to compare them if you don't acknowledge that. What are the core values of the story? What is the general feeling? What is it trying to tell and how it corresponds to the way the story is told?
You either ask yourself those questions or you'll get a half-assed analysis, at most.

You loved chaos, creating havoc was something you were good at, but being with a captain such as yours it was an easy task actually. Part of the crew, read Nami and Usopp, really hated this nature of yours: always chasing danger; the others didn't care too much.
Seeing Kidd and his crew entering the Live Floor got your blood boiling, you decided to follow behind him, maybe trying to get in first.
"YN STOP HIM" your captain screamed from behind you which made Zoro scream at the two of you to stop being so reckless and reminded that you had a plan to follow. Whatever the swordman said next, didn't got processed by your ears, let alone your brain.
The inside of the Live Floor was filled with drunken warriors that sometimes will stop you for a drink or a flirt, you excused yourself saying you had to search for your party.
"Come on let's have some fun" a drunk man said, hanging his arm on your shoulders "you can find your friends later" you gave the man a creepy smile and then a sloppy punch, making him fall on the ground. You laughed maniacally jumping some steps behind. The man stood up confused and was about to ask the reason behind the punch.
"Oh I am terribly sorry, I thought you were one of those idiotic samurais" you laughed and the rest of the warriors followed you in a fist of laughter. "Please forgive me, now I really have to go" and with that you left the group and run to find your captain.
It didn't took long to do so, you just had to follow the chaos he was creating himself. It made you giggled. Seeing Luffy loosing his temper was such a blessing for your eyes, it was such an amazing moment to witness. Zoro was on your side some moments after, scrolling his head for the stupidity of his captain.
"They were throwing the soup at each other for fun" he said, voice so deep it made you shiver head to toes. Uh uh you thought, remembering your meeting with O-Toma and how happy she was to eat a simple, yet delicious, red been soup with rice.
At what the captain said Zoro too started to loose his temper, how could they do such a thing was behind reason for the three of you. The swordman smirked, this meant you were going to beat up some guys that came your ways and this was the best part of the day.
After a pair of punches and kicks threw here and there you decided it was time to leave and head for your target, it was no use to waste your energies and time for some small fishes like them.
"Where to captain?" you asked following Luffy just a little behind him, he knew where to go better than you or Zoro. The teen pirate just pointed somewhere above your heads, but of course the enemies knew better than stopping you.
While on your way, the trip got cut due to a pair or people falling from the floor above, both of them had a mask covering half their faces. Luffy being Luffy somehow managed to infuriate the girl which decided to give start to a battle between her and your captain; you on the other hand just laughed at the girl.
"You really thing you can handle him?" you said in between laughs, this behaviour of yours got under the boy's skin, he trasnformed himself into a weird looking animal, a dinosaur. You recall having saw some on Robin's history books.
Another useless fight started between the four of you: Luffy against the girl and you against Pa-tan?
"You surely have a weird name, dinosaur." you said, vortcing around his body. The animal-boy got even more angry. I stroke a nerve, you told yourself, so you kept on annoying him about his appareance and weird name.
It all happened in a second. You heard the girl screaming and your opponent's attention was on her in an instant and so yours. You looked around trying to find Luffy but he was nowhere to be found. When you saw the whole on the ground you suspected he was there and he was.
He emerged some minutes later, reading to pick the fight from where he left it but his opponent was going to give him a harsh attack if it wasn't for a new presence in the room, that saved your captain from a painful collide of heads.
"PA-TAN" cried the girl, the boy on her side in a second leaving you surprised and sad about not having anyone to beat up. "YAMATO YOU ARE DEAD" she said punching Pa-Tan stomach, you laughed. You surely were bipolar but she was worst than you.
The new presence put both of your enemies down with such ease you wondered who they were but you couldn't ask anything since they were trying to have a conversation with Luffy.
Not wanting to get killed by the dinousar siblings, you decided to call them that, you were following Yamato, that was the name he introduced himself to Luffy, and your captain away from your enemies.
"AND WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING US?" he asked looking behind at you
"Becuase I am with him" you said pointing at Luffy
"You could have saved me, Yamao LET ME GO I HAVE TO BE SOMEWHERE"
"NOT BEFORE I TALKED TO YOU"
You wanted to scream at them to stop yelling at each other but everytime you tried they started bickering until Luffy finally gave in.
"great, but not here. People can hear us" and this is how you ended up on the attic of the castle.
Yamato presneted himself once again, esording with the fact that Kaido is his father; Luffy wanted to leave already, then he mentioned Ace and how he wished so much to go out at sea with him but couldn't not when his father imprisoned him on Wano installing him the fear that he would have died if he left the cuntry; then at the end he showed himself. Taking off the mask and the sleeves of his shirt you were meet with... A woman?
"You said you were Kaido's son?!" Luffy was confused. Did he heard wrong? "You are not a man"
You were astonished, in a good way that is. You never saw such beauty before.
"Oh my god you are soooooo handsome. Are you single?"
"Y/N this is not the time" said Luffy desparate about your attitude. "we have to kill Kaido" he remembered you.
"And let me out of those" Yamato said.
"I know, I know. So, are you single or not?" He didn't answer you, instead asked Luffy if he was able to let him free. The pirate nodded. "I guess I have to wait. Well, one more reason to not die in this battle then."
And with that Luffy freed Yamto from his cuffss they exploded sending the three of you flying back on the Live Floor.
"Not a good start to my promise." you rolled your eyes.

Alright here’s my unwarranted opinion on post-timeskip designs.
(Not including the fact that they just made everyone’s skin tones lighter for no reason cause that’s complete bullshit but we’re gonna talk about their other design features).
Luffy: I love it. Don’t get me wrong I love his stupid vest + flip-flop combo in pre-timeskip but his fluffy shirt and sash are just so him without taking away all his silliness (also adding the yellow sash ties way better to the ASL theme because the yellow in the hat is more tied to Roger/Shanks while the sash is purely related to him and his brothers with is great!)
-8/10-
Zoro: no notes. I love how Oda took one his eyes and refused to explain. I love what that means for Zoro’s character. He doesn’t think about his injuries in that way, he just moves forward. Other than that tho, the boots? The coat? The sash? (Every gets a sash now-a-days) I love that he kept his haramaki because it looks so comfy!
-10/10-
Nami: ….I feel like they could have done a bit more…Don’t get me wrong I love the long hair but her outfits just kinda became bikini top + jeans which not only look uncomfortable but isn’t half as stylish as Oda thinks it is.
-6/10-
Usopp: My guy leveled up. Abs, pants, no-shirt, little facial hair, Usopp’s a fucking man now guys and I’ve got respect for him. Also love his pop greens I just wish he also used other chemical combinations like he did pre-timeskip.
-9/10-
Sanji: they’d tried to make him a big strong man like Zoro, but I don’t think that was ever the appeal of him. He’s meant to be lean so buffing him up was just kinda stupid. Got rid of his pants chain and all his silly undershirt colors.
-4/10-
Chopper: Controversial opinion! I don’t mind his post-timeskip design. He looks cute! I don’t like that they replaced the hat that his dad gave him (I feel like we never talk about that! He has a different hat now! How do you get a new ‘dead dad’ hat?!?) Now he’s got a little stripped shirt, and his heavy point looks a lot better. I do not like how they lean on Kung-fo point so heavily when he has so many other forms for fighting (horn point is my favorite).
-8/10-
Robin: What. Why did they- HER HAT?!? HER BANGS?!?? What the fuck happened in the revolutionary army to do this to my favorite women?!? Give her back her hat, give her back her bangs or I swear to god.
-2/10- (I like her long skirt)
Franky: Also controversial opinion!(?) I don’t hate his bigger body. I wished we got more of his pre-timeksip form because I love his greasy dad look but post-timeskip does a lot for giving Franky a 2 year long power-up in a way that he would. UPGRADES PEOPLE, UPGRADES!
-9/10-
Brook: I love it. His been living in star-dome being flamboyant as all hell and so of course he comes back with a diva-boa, some $10 star glasses, a plastic crown, and strange old man pants. I love formal peepaw but I also love weird party peepaw. I also think the guitar was a good way to make him seem big and aggressive while the violin has the silent, deadly elegance.
-10/10-
All and all I think a lot of us just missed the pre-timeskip style which is fair! I love how pretty the animation gets in Wano but there was bit of an awkward faze where the studio was still trying to figure out how silly vs how pretty they wanted everything to look.

The One About Roronoa Zoro
Okay, wow. So this was originally meant to be a post about ZoLaw, but it just kept getting longer and longer... so I decided to split it up into multiple parts. One for Zoro, one for Law, and one that will take about the two of them
(Because the reason it kept getting so long was that I started going on a rants about each character and what defines them, and it was really just getting out of hand) (And damn, this is LONG, I'm sorry, I was avoiding homework (this is your warning))
So let's first start with the Straw Hat's swordsman, someone lovingly referred to by most fans as the crew's First Mate (although it's not canon per say, it may as well be), Zoro!
First, I'd like to look at his background, because that (very obviously) informs the characters in One Piece to a great extent. Now Zoro's isn't the most fleshed out of the group. Honestly speaking, that is the case for most of the East Blue crew. The reason Luffy and Sanji actually have so much to their pasts is because we went back and fleshed them out more (see later introductions of Ace and Sabo, heck even Garp, and the fact that Sanji wasn't anything more than a kid shipwrecked on an island until WCI happened). Before these reveals, questions such as "How the hell did Sanji end up parentless on a transoceanic tourist boat?" or "Why the heck is Luffy just hanging around with pirates and seemingly no guardians??" were unanswered. The same sort of questions exist for Nami "Why did she end up abandoned and in Bellemere's care in the first place?" or Zoro (I will be bringing those up as we progress). Usopp is generally pretty fleshed out, actually, as in I can't personally think of any questions I have in specific about his background, maybe "When did his dad leave??"
On that point, with Usopp, I know generally Sanji is the poster child for character development in the Straw Hats what with his whole Germa background, but Usopp has an absolutely wonderful character arc (at least in my opinion, which, my blog, but also feel free to disagree, I'd love to here other's thoughts) and one that is still going!! Like his goal is one that literally requires his growth as a character. He can't be a great warrior of the sea if he doesn't believe in himself and-- I'm sorry, I'm getting carried away, I just really like Usopp, sorry.
Anyway, the point of all that was meant to be to demonstrate the fact that we don't know everything about these characters, and if we do, it's because it has been brought up again. And that doesn't even mean we know everything about them (Luffy's primary goal, for example). So that, and the fact that these aspects are still being developed in some cases!!
Anyway, back to Zoro!! And his backstory.
Here we reach the first thing that drive me absolutely up the wall: why in the ever-loving heck does he want to be the World's Greatest Swordsman?? He comes to Kuina with that goal, and their promise strengthens it, but, why, oh why, is that a goal of his in the first place??
(And sorry, another side note, but the differences between the representations of Zoro's backstory drive me up the goddamned wall, the vibe is completely different between the manga, anime, and live action. I originally had only read the manga, and was so, so confused why people would think that Kuina's father hated her and maybe killed her. Then I watched the anime and like, I get now it a lot more, but the fact that they are so variant is still insane to me)
Anyway, what do we know? Zoro's mom died from sickness; Zoro's father died at the hands of pirates. Presumably before he left for sea, and probably before joining the dojo and meeting Kuina.
(Even before Kuina, he wanted to become the World's Greatest Swordsman. And why is that? What is it that makes this man tick? It drives me insane! (Just, we can answer so many questions about so many motivations across so many characters, and the fact that I can be so completely lost when it comes to two of the main characters (Zoro and Luffy) drives me up the wall))
Right, so did he get his need to be strong from one of his parents or their deaths? Someone else he knew? Did he hear stories from Kozaburo or something and that inspired him? Or does he feel like he needs to protect himself? Like, he is obsessed with strength, and although his promise to Kuina strengthened (haha) that need, it just can't be the sole factor, because his need for strength is behind his entire character.
Now that's a fairly large claim, but, what drives Zoro as a character? What sticks out most about him?
Generally, it wouldn't seem like it's strength. Like yeah the weights he lifts are ridiculous and a recurring joke (semi-joke?) when it comes to him, but I'd bet it's not the thing that you'd think first about Zoro.
Another idea could be competition? Maybe? His goal is inherently competitive, and he'll stop at nothing to achieve it. And some people are just driven to be the best. That's it, and that's fair. That being said, he also doesn't need to be the strongest, just the strongest swordsman. He's fine with following Luffy, not leading.
Honestly, I'm one person basing all this off of my own thoughts (not the best sort of evidence for an experiment), but if you think of Zoro, I'm willing to bet that there's one specific character trait that comes to mind.
And that is his loyalty.
It is loyalty that drives most of his action (his loyalty to Kuina and their promise in large part driving him forward to complete his goal, and his loyalty to Luffy and the crew determining many of his other actions, ie. Thriller Bark, bowing to Mihawk), but what drives him outside of that? If we stripped away that goal, what would be left of him as a character??
Let's look at some patterns in the major point of his character in order to break this issue of loyalty.
First, let's look at those tied in some aspect to his dream, or more accurately the risk of it. Those are: fighting Mihawk, Thriller Bark, bowing to Mihawk. All of these are instances in which his loyalty to Luffy and dedication to not breaking a promise has caused him to act in ways that go directly against the completion of his dream. So his dream can't be the only driving for being the strongest (if speaking in terms of parameters, we can say that it is dominated by something else). Looking at these, are they tied to strength? Yes, in a sense, these are moments in which Zoro wasn't strong enough. And these are major character moments for him. They had insane impact on him. And they all have to do with him being confronted with the fact, full on and unavoidably, that he isn't strong enough.
We also have instances of him being much more serious than the others, such as: Whiskey Peak, not immediately trusting Robin, the "stop goofing around" on Punk Hazard, how hard he is on himself after every fight. For as goofy as Zoro is, he is exceedingly cautious. If there's a danger, he is wary of it and is prepared/will prepare to ensure he can fight it. He is careful of the strangeness of Whiskey Peak and Robin. And he is aware of the treat of the world, takes it seriously, and acknowledges that he needs to be strong enough to overcome it. If he struggled, he pushes himself even harder, even if he's still recovering.
And finally, another huge part of Zoro's character is his reaction to perceived betrayal (perceived as in what he identifies as a betrayal): Nami, Usopp, Robin, Sanji. The second he feels betrayed, he will but someone out and move on. "Zoro's so loyal!!" Okay, yeah, but what's this?? For most Straw Hats, they are loyal to the end, and it would seem like Zoro is too (Thriller Bark, again), but this is completely antithetical to that. So why?
It's about Zoro and the intersection between his loyalty, his trust, and his strength. Whoever he is loyal to must have absolute trust in him. Literally any time someone on the Straw Hat's leaves. Zoro completely shuts down when they do. He acts as though he doesn't care. Because, to him, they didn't trust him enough to rely on him, and Zoro needs people to rely on him. It's just how he works. He needs to be able to protect people and needs those people to know that he can protect them. And this is all driven by strength. If they don't trust him, if they don't think he can help, that says something about how strong they think he is. It's an insult to his strength that they don't think to ask him for help, implying that he is not enough. (It also protects himself emotionally to move on a fast a possible.) He needs transparency, requires it, because anything else implies he can't be trusted.
The issue of strength runs rampant through this character. He has this unavoidable need to protect himself. And although he will do his best to protect those he cares about, to is not an unending grace. It's as though all he does is work to defend himself from any sort of emotion hurt or rejection. (It's as though he is waiting to be thrown away. Like the parallel I could draw with Usopp... I won't, not now...)
At the same time though, if he doesn't succeed, then he reasons he wasn't strong enough and that's the end of it.
God! Just why??!? What?!! What is going on with him?? I'd really like to know.
(And god, fuck, I want to talk about the death pact now and what that implies, but this is so long already,,, I'm just... I'll dissect that later or something)
Damn, I've talked forever and I feel as though all I've done is determine that this man is a strength obsessed gremlin with issues. I may need to come back to this later, but for now, this is all I'll say...

One Piece - Episode 2
Tumblr media
It’s actually a lot easier to review one piece now that I’m at episode 2 to be honest. I mean I still have that ping of “oh this came from the anime/manga” or “oh this is pretty different”. But I feel like it’s less prevalent now. I’ve gotten over the shock of OMG LIVE ACTION ONE PIECE GAH and now can actually see it for what it is. Another story. Which is good because Hoo Boy, they do not drop the ball in the second episode
Overview: Luffy, Zoro, and Nami discuss the Grand Line Map. But before they get anywhere with it, Buggy the Pirate Clown has captured them and forced them into his Circus Tent of Terrors to get the map back. While this is happening, Commander Garp is investigating the theft of the map back at Morgan’s Marine Base, and meets a nervous wreck of a cadet Koby just trying to get through his first day.
So let’s start off with the obvious
Buggy is a nightmare
Tumblr media
Holy Shit I mean I know people don’t like Clowns, but they went hard on his craziness. How everyone, even his own crew, is tip toeing on eggshells around this guy. He’s maniacal. Huge inflated sense of self worth and grandiose. Also a psychopath that let people keep their Hands so they can Applaud on cue To Him. Anime was all “ha ha giggles he’s clown wait uh oh he’s actually dangerous”. Naw they ain’t pulling that shit here. Buggy is a threat. Always a threat. 100% destroys everything and tortures everyone to get what he wants. He has some goofy moments like being a dumbass and punching glass like a moron, but he’s 100% Capital B Bad Guy for the entire thing.
(Which got to say, I was lowkey waiting for Luffy to flip him off. No reason why, I just thought it would be funny at that moment.)
I have mixed feelings on the Buggy-Luffy “join me” type of deal. On the one hand, didn’t really like Buggy calling Luffy an outcast. He isn’t tho. Not like Buggy gave a shit since his whole goal is to mettle for the map. But Luffy wasn’t outcasted or a freak. He’s too happy-go-lucky to let insults like that impact him. And look there, Luffy never really gave into Buggy because yeah he knows who he is and is confident about that. So that felt a bit Meh to me.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, I liked how they handled the parallels between Child!Luffy and Shanks and Current!Luffy and Buggy. Shanks fought the bandits, defended his friends, literally lost an arm to help his kid. And Luffy took those lessons to heart, defends Shanks and his honor, says the same line about hurting his friends against Buggy with Known History to Shanks. The Antithesis if you will. For the live action episode, that felt well written and excellently handled, especially for an audience that might not have seen One Piece before.
Also the Shanks Fight to get Luffy was super cool. Love seeing the crew in action and beating/killing all the bandits. A little lowkey sad that they didn’t keep the “guns aren’t for threats they’re for action” and the “Fair? What do you mean fair, we’re pirates” line. Those were great lines that really highlight that they are still hardened fighters/pirates that do still kill. But they kept the “Hurt me but not my friends” line so that’s acceptable.
Tumblr media
Sea King animation was terrifying and really cool. Love to see that in action, and we got to see basically Shanks using power of will against the monster to fuck off. Best, love it. Also laughed a bit when I saw Shanks arm just flying into the ocean after the Sea King’s first strike. It’s in the middle of the screen if you pay attention to it. I just thought it was a funny bit that the Sea King didn’t actually eat it, just tore it off.
Tumblr media
Keep rolling with the badguys here, Cabuji coming in with vengeance exposition backstory about how Zoro hunted down him and his brother and killed the brother for a bounty. Tells how badass Zoro is, shows how stoic, serious, and snarky Zoro is in the face of torture and death. Like they are locked in the circus prop section, this entire set up is really good. But I’m just sitting here thinking that Zoro didn’t track them for shit, he got his ass lost for 20 miles and kept running into those guys accidentally. I don’t know if or when the live action would ever touch on Zoro’s shitty sense of direction, but I hope they do. I’m just waiting for that reveal moment.
I’m glad they are still keeping the mistrust and traitor vibes with Nami here. She never said she’s part of the crew, she tried to dip as soon as she could with outing Luffy’s powers. She hated the devastation that pirates made in the town, while also sneaky enough to have 4 different lockpicking sets. Love a girl bastard and thief. Especially the end hints of her having *le gasp* a secret corresponder snail working for someone! Oh That’s gonna be so good when we get to it.
Another small thing about Luffy while I’m talking about the crew: Is it weird I find Luffy too smart? I mean, yeah his first instinct was to eat the map. But he’s rubber, his stomach can literally stretch. And the best place to hide something is on your person. Also he figured out the boxes and getting rid of body parts in reality that smart grab was Nami’s ploy. Though I guess the writers thought it would be best to make Luffy a bit more competent than just the original dumbass he was. Maybe the audience wouldn’t latch onto him as much or something.
But I did love how Luffy states he’s “a different kind of pirate”. Still a pirate. 100% still a pirate. But not the pillaging or destroying kind. The “I can help my friends out just via violence” type. Not afraid to fight, won’t stand rules, just wants to do his own thing without hurting everyone. Given Nami’s stated mistrust on pirates, as well as the rest of the town, it’s nice that we have Luffy to be that distinction of a better pirate.
Clown outfits and costumes were really on point. Like the design production went all out to make sure everyone is as wacky and crazy as One Piece is known to be. It’s a bit too bad that we don’t actually see all the clowns fight in one go. Like having Zoro kill/defeat them all offscreen felt like a waste. But the core of this episode was definitely focused on Buggy and Buggy v. Luffy. So it makes sense that they don’t want to…share the spotlight. (see I can make bad circus jokes too)
Tumblr media
They’re also giving Garp and Koby a bigger spot in the series too. Anime/Manga we sort of forget about Koby until well after a lot of arcs. But now they are tying his story to Garp about Koby trying to be a Marine like how he wanted. He’s a lot more timid with being a marine though. And Garp, really threatening. In the “I’m a powerhouse and we all know this but I’m still polite” type of way. Still like him, and the live action has this as the parallel of “Luffy Pirates” v “Koby Marines” so two sides of the same coin.
Too bad we didn’t see Morgan going down either. Or how Helmeppo spontaneously became a Cadet while Morgan was still in charge. But that goes under the “clowns killed offscreen” bit.
Overall, really good horror circus vibes here. All the fight scenes were on point and clever. They are still blending in a lot of the original source material while making smart and fun changes to the story. And my sister wants to blast through the episodes because she just wants to get to the Sanji bits lol. So stay tuned!

SCENARIO REQUEST: ❝questionable justice.❞
Tumblr media
[ Fandom: One Piece ]  [ Characters: Roronoa Zoro, Portgas D Ace ]
「Scenario of Zoro and Ace meeting their S/O who is like Kocho Shinobu, sweet and smiling all the time but was taken by surprise when they see her mad.」
RORONOA ZORO
The Strawhat Pirates just happened to land on a very pirate-friendly island. Technically it wasn't pirate friendly but the people here were the type to judge visitors based on their intentions. Zoro remembered meeting you for the first time when he was accompanying Chopper to stock up on some medicine and herbs. You didn't look any older than he was but you were surrounded by young employees who were running around restocking the empty shelves. He was pretty surprised at how bright, friendly and cheerful you were. While he was waiting for Chopper ― who seemed to be very excited over talking with you ― he noticed how you always have this easygoing smile on your face.
Honestly, he did not know why he kept running into you during his stay in the island. Zoro doesn't like to admit that he can get lost so when you find him wandering in an alleyway, clearly disheveled and all, you couldn't help but giggle. You never mentioned about him being lost and just silently brought him along with you. He doesn't know you that well and he's not the type to start small talk with people. The two of you ended up running into Luffy, catching him stuffing himself with food that he couldn't possibly afford.
It was then you were invited to the little party the Strawhat Pirates were hosting, something about wanting to throw a banquet. Up until now, you wondered what the reason behind the party was but when you noticed that the whole town was also there, you thought that you didn't have to question it. Pirates often dock at this island but it was your first time meeting such a friendly and lively crew. Pirates were usually people who don't hesitate in conducting robbery and behaved like criminals.
"Crap! It's the marines, we gotta run!" Usopp exclaimed when he spotted a navy ship from where he sat. You overheard Usopp's exclamation and turned towards Zoro and Robin who were the closest to you.
"Go back to your ship and prepare to leave. I doubt that they will let you off that easily. You guys can leave from the port where you docked on, the navy seems to have docked in the front so you'll be fine." you muttered to the two.
"What are you going to do? It will be bad if they figured out that you're helping us." Robin voiced her concern. You smiled at them gently and assured that you and the people here will manage somehow, just like you normally do. Zoro and Robin hesitantly left the scene while you made your way towards the front to confront the army of marines that just docked their ship in the main port.
“What business do you have with this town? I thought we made it clear that we don’t want protection from scum like you lot!”
"We're looking for the Straw Hat Pirates! You're not sheltering pirates like you did last time are you?" the marine captain slowly making their way down the ship, followed by a group of marines. His gaze was trained on you as he slowly approached the civillains. The people started to move back, forming a circle around you and the marines. You stopped a few feet away from the captain, a hand resting over the hilt of your katana.
"How dare you accuse [First Name] like that—!" a loud gunshot rang through the crowd and the entire Strawhat Pirates stopped to turn their attention towards you who stood in the middle of everything.
“You're lucky you're not a pirate, [First Name]. But you're coming us for interrogation." the captain slowly made his way towards you with two tall soldiers by his side. The two men stood on each side of you, raising their weapons in case you tried anything funny.
"If you refuse to cooperate, we might have to eliminate you." he smirked at you.
"[First Name]!" you heard Luffy and when you turned your head around, you saw the entire crew stepping out from the crowd.
"Step back, you guys!" you pulled out your katana in one swift motion, surprising the Strawhats who were getting ready to engage in combat. Zoro lowered his weapons and watched as you disarmed the soldiers who were holding you at gunpoint. The marine captain drew his sword to block your own, letting out a laugh.
"Protecting pirates and threatening the marines?! You're no better than pirates themselves! You and your sister are no different after all, that's why she died!" the captain spat at you with a manic grin on his face.
"That's because you killed her!" you yelled, putting a bit more force on your katana and pushing the captain back. You adopted a fighting stance and glared at the man in front of you who didn't seem guilty at all. Zoro watched in awe as you expertly handled your katana, fighting toe to toe with a captain from the marines.
"Crap! There's so many of them! We gotta run!" Nami exclaimed. Zoro's attention landed on you, noticing that you were still fighting with the captain. By now, everyone had already dispersed and took shelter in their own homes to avoid getting caught in the middle. His own crewmates began to run towards the direction of the Sunny but Zoro himself ran in the other direction.
"Hey, Zoro! Where are you going? The ship is the other way!" Chopper exclaimed.
"Let me go, Zoro! I won't be satisfied until I beat all of them!" you struggled against his hold, lightly hitting his back as he carried you over his shoulder and began bolting toward the direction of where his crewmates were heading.
"You're coming with us and you're joining the crew!" he suddenly announced out loud.
"Excuse me?" you stopped pounding his back to stare at the back of his head in disbelief.
"If you become a pirate, you can fight against marines more often!" Zoro reasoned. You couldn't believe what you were hearing and let out a small laugh at his words. This was your first time being kidnapped by pirates and not to mention, he was inviting you to join the crew instead of forcing you to give him all your valuables.
"You're an odd one, Zoro." you sighed.
PORTGAS D ACE
"You sure eat a lot." you put another plate of fried rice and a large mug of juice in front of Ace who continued scarfing down every single dish you put out for him. He stopped eating for a while, greedily finishing the glass of juice you just put out for him. He let out a satisfied noise before grinning widely at you.
"I've never eaten such good food before!" he said casually before putting aside his empty plate.
"Not to mention, the chef who made all this is just so pretty!" he chuckles with a bright smile that made you blush lightly.
"You're just saying that because I'm offering them for free." you giggled.
This was probably Ace's third time in the restaurant you worked in. Ace was sitting at his usual spot, just by the bar where he could see you cooking through the window that connected the front of the house to the kitchen. He loved seeing that easy-going smile on your face as you tended to the customers. You always looked like you enjoyed what you were doing. The restaurant was such a nice place, there were no fights, no discrimination, just good food, and friendly people. Even with the occasional pirates as customers, your attitude and food always seemed to unite people together.
Ace places a few bills onto the table, clearly more than what he owed you for the food. Before you could even protest, he only flashes you a grin, telling you that it will also be for tomorrow when he drops by for dinner. When he sees your bright and lovely smile, followed by a wave, he knew that he had to come again tomorrow. Just as he leaves the restaurant, he passed by a group of marines and unintentionally stopped to watch their movements. He covered his face a little more with his hat to avoid trouble.
"Hey, [First Name]. Business going well?"
“If you're here to just disturb me then leave. This is a restaurant, either you eat here or fuck off." you calmly picked up the dirty plates from the customers who were seated at the bar counter. The captain of the marines scoffed in response, taking a seat right in front of you and slamming his hand onto the table.
"Listen, we heard some people gossiping about you helping some pirates recently." he leaned over the counter while you arranged the clean beer mugs and served other customers by the counter.
"Pirates or not, people who come here are customers. If you have any complaints then tell that to the owner. He's the one in charge of everything and the one who taught us this. So, what are you going to order?" you said as calmly as possible, pulling out a notepad from your pocket, along with a pen. The captain clicked his tongue in annoyance, lightly glaring at you before standing up abruptly from his seat.
"Just as barbaric as your sister but the only difference is that you're not a filthy pirate. Be grateful that we, Marines, do not harm civilians like you." the captain of the marine crew scoffed, pointing an accusing finger at you.
When he heard crashing and the sound of glass breaking, he bolted into the restaurant without even thinking twice. To avoid making a scene and drawing attention, Ace opted to observe discreetly from the window. For a second, Ace wondered where you got that but that wasn't what surprised him. The look on your face was one that was unfamiliar. You were usually so kind and gentle, greeting everyone with a smile. The angry look on your face took him by surprise and he could hear the conversation going on between you and the captain.
"Don't you dare talk shit about [Sister Name] as if you played no part in her death! You marines falsely accused her of being a pirate when she wasn't!" you raised your voice, slowly stepping forward to close the distance between you and the captain.
"Hey! How dare you threaten the captain!? I'll have you executed!" one of the brave soldiers stepped forward between you and the captain, one hand on the hilt of his sword.
"Move before I decide to kill you." you glared at the soldier who cowered under your gaze.
"Arrest her!" the captain commanded and all the marine soldiers started to advance. Even so, you stood your ground.
"Sorry!" a voice cut in, followed by a small wave of fire that stood in the way of the marines. You shielded yourself from the fire, stepping back to avoid burning yourself. However, what surprised you was the fact that Ace was now standing in the place of the fire. The man gave you a cheeky grin, walking over towards you and putting his hat on your head.
".....this little one is with me."
"Fire Fist Ace?!" the marines exclaimed in unison. For a moment, they were too stunned to do anything, and that gave Ace the opportunity to whisk you away.
"Wait Ace, where are you taking me?!" you questioned.
"Say, [First Name].....What do you think about being a part of the best pirate crew?" Ace grinned widely.

Hiiii sweetie I love your Law writings so much! Oh this sounds like your others are bad, no I didn't mean to say that! I'm sure your others are good too, I just didn't read them yet because I'm Law obsessed lately. Anyways, could I request something? It's actually my first time to request something so I hope I did it right??? I'm sorry if I didn't. Coming back to the request, could you do something like Law x reader (preferably female but gn would be okay too though so everyone can relate!) being kinda close to each other and always teasing each other (she is a Strawhat member) and he is deeply in love with her but his heart breaks seeing her hugging a guy of her crew? Like he knows she's a cutiepie and loves hugging her friends but he just gets so jealous seeing her with Zoro or whoever and his mood changes and he distances himself from her, leaving her all confused because he thinks it's impossible for her to like him when it's so much more likely and also practical to date someone of her crew. But then she asks him about him being so weird and cold lately and he kind of let's everything out and confesses? I'm so sorry if this is too long or complicated, ignore it if that's the case! Sending lots of love to you from Germany! <3
Oh my freaking goodness you’re so sweet! I’m glad you enjoy all of my Law writings as much as I love writing for him! Don’t even worry, you don’t have to read my other’s if you don’t want to, if it’s just Law you wanna read the go right ahead! :) GERMANY?! I have people reading my works in GERMANY?! It always baffles me when I get asks that say they’re from another country because I forget that not everyone is going to live near me. Thank you for all the love all the way from Germany! ❤️
Warnings: None, other than some swearing here and there, not proofread in the slightest.
****Law x Strawhat!Reader
He hated it. There was nothing more that Law hated right now was seeing you draped over Zoro’s back while you watched something over his shoulder. He was stupid to think that you wouldn’t have a close relationship with them, of course you would. Law could only grit his teeth and endure it. It wasn’t like the two of you were in a relationship, he couldn’t tell you to stop.
Law actually could think of something he hated more. It was the fact that Zoro didn’t seem to mind, not in the slightest. It was like this was a daily occurrence for him and it was something he was used to. Part of him wanted to see the marimo push you off and act annoyed. But something told him that even then, you wouldn’t care and would simply do it again.
“Hey Law! Come look at what Usopp made-!” you slid off of Zoro’s back and turned around with a smile, hoping to see the other swordsman you had seen just a moment ago. Your sweet smile turned into a frown, then a pout when you realized he wasn’t there anymore. ‘Where did he go?’ You thought to yourself as you looked around the deck.
You knew that the other captain was a bit more reclusive than you’d like since you enjoyed being around him and it never seemed like he wanted to be around the rest of the crew-probably because most of the crew was so boisturious and loud and Law was, well...the opposite of boisturious and loud.
It didn’t take you long to find him. “You left us!” you say to him, playfully feigning like you were upset as you crossed your arms. “How rude!”
“And for a reason.” he simply responded back, not even looking at you while he did.
“Sorry, were we being too loud?” you chuckled and smiled. “You’re gonna have to get used to that on this ship while you’re here with us.”
Am I going to have to get used to seeing you all over your crew as well? Law kept his thoughts to himself while he opted not to give you another response.
“Um...I’ll just…” you pointed back to Zoro and the others, leaving him to be by himself since that’s what you thought he wanted. It was the opposite. He wanted to be around you, but he just couldn’t stand seeing you so close to them as well. As much as he wished that was him, he’d never say it aloud.
It was something that you had been noticing the past few days. The two of you got along great when you were on Punk Hazard together, so what was different now? You felt more comfortable since you were on your own ship and maybe that was it. There weren't any battles happening and everyone was quite lax...so shouldn’t it be the opposite? Shouldn’t he be more relaxed now that he knew he was safe? Or was that even it? You weren’t sure.
It took you a few days to finally approach him about it. You noticed that every time you he was around you and then when you went over to your crew mates, he’d be gone before you even turned back around.
The crew was inside eating and Law had finished first, opting to go outside in the quiet after he was done. You soon followed after you were done and left the loud dining room to find him. It wasn’t difficult since there was only a limited area outside on the deck.
“Don’t like how loud it is in there?” you chuckled as you walked up to the railing next to him. “I’m not sure how long you’ll stay with us, but you get used to it, you actually tend to enjoy it after a while and when it’s quiet, you feel a little weird.”
“I don’t think I’ll be getting used to Mugiwara-ya anytime soon and I don’t know how you deal with…” Luffy’s loud shriek was heard in the distance and Law’s face scrunched up, “that.”
You only laugh at the other captain, “I take it your crew isn’t like this then?”
He rolled his eyes and almost cringed at the thought. “No. They are. I just choose to ignore it most of the time.”
“And does that work?”
He answered almost immediately, “Never.”
You laughed again and Law felt like his breath almost caught in his throat. It was something he would be able to listen to over and over again and never get sick of-unlike your captain.
“I wanted to ask you something too…” your fingers tapped the railing and traced the design of the wood. “Are you okay? Or did I do something wrong? I thought we were getting along really well and lately it feels like you’ve been more distant for some reason. I just...I like talking to you and I thought you did too. We’ll be in the middle of a conversation and I’ll turn to talk to someone and then when I turn back to talk to you again, you’re gone. But maybe I just misinterpreted it and you didn’t want to talk to me in the first place.” you let out an almost pitiful sounding laugh, along with a sad smile.
Fuck...That wasn’t the reason in the slightest and he hated that he made you think that it was your fault he was just a little jealous of your crew mates that you live with.
“No.. that’s not it…” he sighed to himself, feeling guilty that he had made you feel that way. He was fighting with himself internally. Do I say something to them or not? He knew that there wouldn’t be much of a relationship since the two of you were on separate crews. Pair that with the fact that he doesn’t even know if he’ll survive this attack on Doflamingo.
Law wouldn’t want to get your hopes up about anything if you felt the same way about him. At the same time, this could possibly be one of his only chances to tell you how he felt. All he could think about was embarrassing himself. From the first time he saw you on Sabaody, he knew that there was something about you because of the way you never left his mind since then.
It was a stroke of luck that you managed to see him again on Punk Hazard. Since you were relatively new to the crew at that time, you still hadn’t bonded with anyone in particular so he never saw you acting like you do now with them.
You raised your brow in an attempt to get him to continue with what he was trying to say. “Then what is it?” you ask him slowly. “If you don’t want to say anything, that’s fine I guess. As long as I’m not doing anything to make you mad or hate me.”
“I’m not mad at you. I don’t hate you either.” he paused for a moment, gritting his teeth together. Law couldn’t believe that he was even doing this to himself. “Quite the opposite actually…”
Your brow raised again in slight confusion. “Oh?” you hesitated, the thought registering in your head about what he meant. You knew he wasn’t exactly the person who would let his feelings gush out. A small smile slipped out and you tried your best not to smirk.. “Ooh~ I see.” you drug your words out slowly.
As Law went to open his mouth, whether to object to what you were saying-even though he wasn’t-or let you know that you were right, he didn’t get to say anything before your Captain burst onto the deck.
“Y/N-chaaan!!! Come play with us!!” and you couldn’t even object or tell Luffy that you would be there in a minute when a long arm stretched out to grab you. It wrapped around your waist and you before it was able to yank you away from Law, you grabbed the collar of his shirt and planted your lips firmly on his.
“I’m glad you don’t hate me~” you grin as you pull away, not because you want to but because you’re being forced away by Luffy.
Law could feel his cheeks heat up from the sudden kiss and all he wanted to do was grab his hat and pull it over his face. But then he would’ve missed seeing your smile as you notice just how flustered you made him. He wouldn’t mind being a little embarrassed if he gets to see your smile every time.

Hello you are the body swap Queen now. 👑 here's your crown, my leige.
So speaking of, wifey could i please have soul mate body swap w Sanji? (afab reader pls) 💖 love yoouuuuuuu
i accept this crown thank you 😭😭 of course! i hope you like it! love youuu ❤
You celebrated your 23th birthday, and you weren’t excited about the birthday itself, but to finally meet your soulmate. You’ve been waiting too long for this to happen, and would be a little disappointed if your soulmate was younger, which it meant you’d still have to wait longer.
It was hard to sleep that night, with all the fantasies you imagined, wondering if your soulmate would be someone caring, gentle and romantic, just like you’ve always dreamed. Maybe they’d be your opposite, and the personalities would clash before you both realized you’re in love. Who knows? But whatever destiny had planned, you’d accept it.
You opened your eyes, seeing a boy wearing a strawhat looking at you, as if he was waiting for you to wake up. You jumped out of the bed, assuming the boy, who surprisingly didn’t look like a threat, broke in. As if you weren’t terrified enough, you realized that room wasn’t yours, the decoration was different, and there were too many beds.
— What do you want? — you asked, realizing your voice. — And where am I?
— Sanji, I’m hungry. — he whined. — You’re late, I want breakfast.
— Sanji? — you whispered asking yourself, and then you realized you finally had switched bodies with your soulmate! But who is he?
When the young man in front of you kept complaining about being hungry, you decided to act as if you were Sanji. How hard could it be? If he only made breakfast, it should be easy until you found out a solution, right?
— I’ll be in the kitchen in a minute. Just… Go wait for me there. — you replied.
The guy left, still complaining. You tried to find a bathroom to at least wash your face and feel awake. As soon as you saw your reflection in the mirror, you couldn’t help smiling seeing the face of your soulmate. He was handsome, blonde with funny curly eyebrows, that you thought it added some charm to his features. Apparently, he dressed nice too.
As you headed to the kitchen, you realized it wasn’t a house, it was a pirate ship! Your soulmate was a pirate!
While you were expecting only the guy you were talking to, you found other seven people sitting and apparently waiting for the meal. They were also a bit loud and talking a lot. As if it wasn’t enough to make you nervous while trying to make breakfast, something you weren’t the best at, there was a green haired man cussing at you for no reason.
With all your skills, you tried to make the best meal, hoping no one would notice the difference, which they did.
— Sanji, this tastes different. — the boy from earlier complained.
— Well, this is what we have now. — you replied, rolling your eyes. How picky this man could be?
— Stupid cook. — the green haired guy clicked his tongue. — Waking up late and letting us starve.
You decided to ignore that man’s remarks. You were washing the dishes, and you saw the woman with black hair approaching you. By her looks, someone could think she was intimidating, but during the breakfast you realized she was very nice.
— You’re Sanji’s soulmate. — she said. — Aren’t you?
Your eyes widened, how did she know? Could she perhaps see the future or something like that? You nodded, still surprised.
— I guessed. That’s why “Sanji” was acting so different today. — the woman giggled. — I’m Nico Robin. Nice to meet you.
— I’m (Y/N). Are you… Pirates?
— Yes, our captain is Luffy. He’ll be the king of the pirates. Your soulmate is Black Leg Sanji, he’s also our cook. He’s a flirt, but he’s going to be so happy to know he found his soulmate. Sanji will love you so much.
The woman kept talking about him, and the more you heard about him, the more you realized he was like you always wanted your soulmate to be. A gentleman who’d love you and take care of you. You also found out Zoro and Sanji just didn’t get along very well, and that explains what happened this morning.
But you wondered how you’d find your soulmate. You didn’t even know where you were right now.
— You can tell us where you live. Our navigator, Nami, will find your island. I’m sure Luffy won’t mind if she go there for a while.
After you and Robin explained the whole situation to the rest of the crew, the captain didn’t need to be asked twice. He was willing to make you and Sanji meet, and then switch back. The cute reindeer called Chopper was very curious, wondering how the soulmate thing worked.
During lunch and dinner, the two women helped you cooking something the crew would like.
Before sleeping, you went to the deck, wondering when you’d arrive at your island. You also wondered what you would do after switching back. The life as a pirate seemed so exciting, full of adventures, and be able to see a different place every day. You were hoping Sanji would ask you to sail with him.
The morning after you saw the small island from far, you felt your heart beating faster and you started getting anxious. After dreaming with that kiss for so long, it was about to happen in just a few minutes.
The ship docked, and you started walking in the direction of your house. You opened the door and saw your other half sitting on the couch, pulling a bit of the shirt you were wearing, or better yet, that he was wearing, to have a peek of what was covered by the layer of clothes. His nose started bleeding right away.
— Hey! — you said, not angry, just… Surprised. — What are you looking at?
He looked at you feeling extremely embarrassed not expecting to get caught trying to have a glimpse of your body. He just couldn’t resist, seeing your chest, feeling your curves as soon as he woke up in your body, he needed to look.
— I’m so sorry, (Y/N)-swan! — he apologized. — I was… Just a little look wouldn’t hurt, right?
You rolled your eyes, sighing.
— We need to switch back. — you said, sitting next to him.
— Yes, we do… — he said, getting closer and already eager for the kiss. — But before… Please, let me just have another look. Just a quick look. — he held your hand, and begged.
— One more.
He peeked under the shirt once again, just to make his nose bleed once again. One would think he had never seen a naked body before.
That’s really not how you imagined the kiss to be.
— Okay, now we switch back. — Sanji smiled.
You two just looked at each other, feeling a bit anxious, a bit shy. It was a kiss that would change your lives forever, it was a big deal. Sanji wanted to impress you, he wanted it to be perfect. He softly kissed your lips, before pulling you into a heated kiss, full of passion and desire. His hand place on the back of your neck, while the other pulled you closer by your hips.
When you two opened your eye and realized you had switched back, you saw Sanji’s face from close, his cheeks were red and he looked at you with so much love, as if he spent his life waiting for you.
— My beautiful (Y/N)-swan, let’s sail together, come explore the world with me. — he whispered, while brushing your (H/C) hair behind your ear. — You’re my All Blue.

“I like your begging… Shitty cook”
Sanji woke up to Luffy's energetic voice. He couldn't understand what was happening for a few seconds, but when he regained consciousness, he instantly looked around. He started running when he saw Zoro's swords.
“Everything seems fine, but where did this scumbag go?”
As he was running, he suddenly saw the standing figure.
"I found. What do you think you're doing? Hey! Where is that warlord-"
He could have sworn that his heart stopped for a second at the sight of him. Zoro stood devastated in the middle of a huge bloodstained circle with his arms crossed.
“What is this blood?! Hey! Are you still alive?! Where is that man?! What happened here?!" "N-nothing happened!"
After Zoro finished his sentence, he threw himself on Sanji.
“Zoro. Zoro! Oi! Answer me! Please..."
Sanji was struggling to breathe, but he couldn't waste time with that. He immediately took two deep breaths and threw him over his shoulder and started running. What if he dies… what if I can't save him… why doesn't anyone feel his pain? Doesn't he feel pain? I...I… I can't live without him...
“Chopper! Chopper! Help! Please!"
When the others saw him, they immediately rushed to his side. When Chopper saw Zoro, he immediately shouted at Franky to take him to a neat and clean place. Usopp and Brook had gone to get medical supplies they might need. Robin was getting ready to help Chopper. Nami started to cry. And Sanji… Sanji was just standing on his knees. Seeing him, Nami got worse and threw herself on him and started to cry in his arms. Sanji didn't even have the energy to hug her. Luffy couldn't stand to see the two pack members like that. He collapsed to his side. He put his straw hat on Sanji's head. He hugged Nami from behind.
"Do not worry. He lives and will live. It won't be a bad.” “L-luffy…”
Sanji cursed his shaking voice and the inability to continue.
“We would feel it if something were going to go wrong.”
Nami is crying:
“But… What… What if the reason why we can't feel…” "No. not that. Do not worry. Everything will be fine. Everything will be fine." “Luffy…” “Luffy…” “What we can do is wait. Come on, let's wait somewhere closer to him but out of way."
So they began to wait just outside of Zoro's operation. About three hours later, Chopper, Robin, Usopp, Franky and Brook came out. It was a very difficult operation that needed the help of all of them.
“Chopper?” “We've got the situation under control for now, Luffy, but he was in very bad shape. I've never seen him like that before. I couldn't control it alone. I couldn't lose a single second." "Will he be okay?" “There is no life-threatening danger at the moment. If there is a wrong move or an infection situation, we will be bad again. Other than that, I don't know when he regains consciousness but… Yes. He is good."
Everyone could finally breathe properly. Sanji wanted to give Luffy his hat back.
“Hold it a little longer, Sanji. Now will you prepare dinner for me?" “Of course, Luffy. Thank you."
*** While the others were partying, Sanji kept replaying what those two men were saying in his head. Robin realizes this.
"Are you okay, Cook-san?" “Oh… Robin-chan… Did you have a request? Shall I get some coffee?" “Cook-san, I came for you.” “Oh… Sorry… I'm just… I'm just tired… I guess…” “I know what happened Sanji.”
Sanji widened his eyes and looked at her in surprise.
“I am sorry. I overheard.” “Oh… it's okay Robin-chan… It's just…” “You can talk to me Sanji. Don't throw it in. Remember how you proved that I am not alone. You are not alone either.” “I… I don't know, Robin-chan… I've never experienced such fear before. What if I lost him? I… I guess I couldn't live with it… If he had died… If he had died… I couldn't Robin-chan…” “None of this was your fault Sanji. None! And he didn't die. Look, come here."
She took him by the hand and brought him to Zoro.
“Chopper?” "Yes, Robin?" “Can you tell me about the patient's condition?” “He is still unconscious but has a regular and rhythmic heartbeat and breathing. His condition is stable and he is recovering.” "Did you see?" "I…" “Hey Sanji, how about checking Zoro's pulse? Chopper, can you help him find it?" "Certainly. Come on Sanji. You can feel it at the wrist if you hold it like this.”
Sanji started grabbing his wrist as shown. At first he couldn't feel anything and started to get scared again. Noticing that he was starting to breathe fast, Chopper corrected Sanji's misplacement. This time he had managed to feel his pulse and calmed down. He was alive. He was alive. He was safe.
*** It had been three days since Zoro had been out of the operation, and he still hadn't woken up. And Sanji still hadn't recovered from the event. Whenever he wasn't talking to the others or cooking, he was either by his side or observing him. The party was going on for three days already. So on the one hand, he was already swamped. Robin was watching him, just as Sanji was watching Zoro, and she was sure that Sanji hadn't slept at all in those three days.
“Luffy?” "Yes, Robin?" “Sanji hasn't slept in three days.” “Huh? Really?" "Yes. Can you talk to him?" "Certainly."
Has he not slept in three days? Luffy was starting to worry. Everyone was in bad shape because of Zoro's condition, but it was clear that Sanji was going through it worse than the others. Even though they had a lot of arguments… Luffy could see what was going on between them, albeit more or less. It's not just Luffy. Probably everyone… But he wasn't expecting this intense. This much…
“Sanji?” “Oh, Luffy… I'm sorry I got carried away. I was counting Marimo's breathing. Do you want meat? Or something else?” "I came for you."
Sanji then looked back and saw Robin.
“Robin-chan?” “She told me you weren't sleeping.” “I'm fine, captain. I was just busy because of the party.” “Sanji-“ "Really. I also spoke with Robin-chan the other day. I know it's not my fault. I know he is safe and recovering. I'm fine and everything is fine! You don't need to CHECK UP ON ME!”
His voice got louder towards the end, which caught the attention of a few people.
“I am fine Luffy. Sorry that I yelled. I am getting you more meat, okay?” “Sanji-!”
Luffy was about to go after him, but Chopper stopped him.
“Let's not go after him, Luffy. He's trying to deal with the situation himself. It's not healthy, but… if we go on it, he would close himself to us.” “Chopper… this is very frustrating.” "Yes, it is."
*** Sanji hadn't slept that night and stood by Zoro while the others were asleep. Towards the morning, just when he was going to prepare dinner:
“You know this is not healthy right Sanji?” “Chopper. Were you awake?" "You know it's my duty to check my patient's condition regularly, right?" “I'm just helping out, Chopper.” “Excuse me Sanji, but did I ask you for help with the night watch?” "You don't have to ask me-" “But I have to get permission to help you in the kitchen, right?” “It's not the same thing. I-" “Not same, yes. You are the cook. When it comes to food, you know best about our diets, and I'm a doctor. Ship's doctor. Zoro is not my only patient. Zoro is in better condition than you right now.” "What are you talking about?" “You were wounded in the fight, very badly, too. You haven't slept and rested for four days. Neither your wounds have fully healed nor your body has been able to relax. If you continue like this, you will physically collapse, Sanji.” "I'm fine, Chopper." “I understand that you are angry and in denial, Sanji. I don't know exactly what happened, but it definitely happened after we passed out. You don't have to tell me, but you should know that as a doctor, I won't let one of the people I watch over prepare for his own downfall.” "I'm not doing that." “You do.” “Chopper…” “Please Sanji. Just… Just sleep. For a few hours…” “I have to prepare breakfast. Take care of him, Chopper.” “Sanji!”
*** All-day, that day, Sanji ignored Luffy, Chopper, and Robin as much as possible. And continued in the same routine. The next day those three played another trump card, this time.
Sanji was sitting in the chair next to Zoro again.
“Sanji-kun?” “Oh… Nami-san? Do you want a drink?" “I'm going to sit here for a while. I would like a nice herbal tea.” "I'll bring it right away."
So after a while, Sanji came back with two cups of tea in his hand.
"Here you go, my lady." “Thanks, Sanji-kun.” "You're welcome Nami-san." "Isn't it scary and weird to watch it?" "Weird?" “So normally he always sleeps. But he always slept soundly and we could see very clearly that he was alive. It's like this… He lies like the dead.” "Oh yes…" "I was so frightened when you brought Zoro… I don't remember having such fear since Bell-mère's death." "Me too…" “But he is alive. Chopper takes very good care of him.” “We are very lucky. We have such a good doctor.” "Yes. So you know what's scarier right now?" “What is it Nami-san?” “Your eyes, bloodshot from lack of sleep. However, when you look carefully, they have a very sweet blue tone. Now I can't see any." "Nami-san-" “It's okay if you don't want to leave his side. Separation. Deal with me Sanji-kun.” “Huh?” “You can sleep holding his hand. Here. So you can feel his pulse too, right?” "I…" “Please Sanji-kun. Get some sleep now.” “I… Well…”
Sanji moved his chair a little closer and rested his head on the floor where Zoro was lying and put his hand on his, finally closing his eyes. Watching the events at that time, Robin came in with a thin blanket and gently placed it on Sanji. They had finally succeeded.
*** Sanji slept for almost a full day. When he woke up, Luffy was eating meat next to him.
"Good morning." "Good morning, captain." "Are you hungry?" "A little." “The other crew made a lot of food. Not as good as yours but nice. Wait, let me get it." "Thanks, Luffy and sorry-" "It's okay Sanji."
Luffy brought some food and the two of them ate together without saying a word. When they finished eating, Luffy looked directly into Sanji's eyes.
"Beautiful." “Eh?” “Your eyes are fine. I can see the blue.” “Oh… Yes… Thank you. I've been causing a lot of trouble lately." “I said it doesn't matter. We were all worried. We all reflected our anxiety differently.” "Yeah..." “Don't worry, he'll wake up. And we will sail again.” "Yes. Thank you, Luffy.” “You're welcome Sanji. I'm going to Brook's now, do you want to come?" "I'm going to stay here a little longer." "Whatever you want."
After Luffy left, Sanji turned to Zoro. Whispering:
“Can't you wake up now, stupid Marimo? You've made everyone very worried. Me… You scared me so much… Please… Wake up now… I don't think I can go on without you. Please…"
When he got no answer, he was about to leave to join Luffy when someone grabbed his wrist and stopped him.

Missing You
Quick summary: Sanji misses Zoro.
Note: I haven’t outright stated it before, but my collection of short Zosan oneshots is connected to my fic “To Run.” This one makes a few references to it.

Sanji woke up to the feeling of Zoro’s lips on the corner of his mouth. His eyes flitted open and his lips curved upward in a groggy smile as he took in the sight of Zoro, partially hovering over him in bed, smiling down at him. Sanji made an amused sound in the back of his throat, laying a hand on his love’s bicep.
“Hi,” Sanji said, his voice still thick with sleep. Sanji wound his arms around Zoro’s solid, warm torso, and pulled him down so Zoro lay on top of him. He chuckled softly as they both repositioned themselves to be more comfortable. “Morning breath,” Sanji whispered, putting his palm in Zoro’s face and pushing him back when Zoro leaned in for yet another kiss.
Sanji let out a small, undignified yelp in surprise when Zoro’s tongued darted out of his mouth and pushed between the gaps between Sanji’s fingers, poking out at Sanji in defiance. Zoro’s grin grew as Sanji withdrew his hand from his face.
“Child,” Sanji said accusingly.
“You had to know getting licked was a possibility when you put your hand there,” Zoro, incorrigible as ever, shot back.
“Actually, I thought you might just bite me like the savage you are,” Sanji said, staring up at Zoro with partially closed eyes.
“And that wouldn’t have bothered you?”
“No, because I was expecting it.”
Zoro snorted, rolling his eyes. “Dumbass,” he said, the playfulness in his voice turning the old insult into a term of endearment.
“Barbarian,” Sanji said in return, grinning to himself when Zoro laid his head on his chest.
“You love me,” Zoro said, more to annoy Sanji than to state the obvious.
“You’re so sure of that,” Sanji said, his voice glib, his fingers soft as he ran them along the path of Zoro’s spine all the way to his head, pushing through the soft green hair.
Contentment rumbled from deep within Zoro’s throat as Sanji played with his hair. “Yeah,” he said dreamily. “I am.”
Sanji lifted his head to kiss the top of Zoro’s. If only those who called Zoro the Demon of East Blue could see him now. They’d change their minds quickly if they could see him practically purring like a common house cat at having his hair stroked.
They lay there together, Sanji petting Zoro until his hand grew tired, Zoro lying on Sanji like a living, breathing blanket. Usually Zoro preferred to have Sanji lying on top of him, but Zoro had become somewhat clingier as of late, coming to Sanji for physical affection more frequently than he normally did whenever they had time alone together.
It had been a bit of an adjustment for both of them when Sanji brought Zoro onto the Baratie. Back when they sailed on Sunny, Zoro could come to Sanji when he was preparing food for the next meal. He would hold onto him like the clingy, affectionate pest that he was. Zoro was less clingy whenever he had Sanji’s full attention, but he’d been receiving less of it lately.
It had been easier to give Zoro his attention back when all Sanji had to worry about was keeping a small crew fed and didn’t have a restaurant and its guests to look after, a staff working under him, or the constant pressure to prove himself worthy as Zeff’s successor. It was even harder to give Zoro his attention when he couldn’t let him hang onto him while he was cooking like he used to. Sanji was sorry that he couldn’t give Zoro that anymore. While he used to tease Zoro for being needy or accuse him of being annoying when Zoro grumbled at him for needing to move around the kitchen while they stood like this, Sanji did enjoy it. It was a nice compromise that kept Zoro happy, and Sanji did enjoy the company and the fact that Zoro wanted to be close to him. But Sanji was a boss now, and it was hard to be taken seriously when he had a grown man hanging off him.
So Zoro found a new way to get Sanji’s attention. He’d observe restaurant activity until there was a lull, and then he’d waltz into the kitchen, grab Sanji by the wrist, and announce, “Break time!”
The other chefs were always overjoyed to see Zoro. Sanji was aware he wasn’t an easy boss, especially if the day was stressful, and Zoro pulling him into the office to kiss him always left him in a better mood. The staff had noticed this, and so they welcomed Zoro in the kitchen, showing their appreciation with booze and a snack whenever he and Sanji came out of the office.
“You’re spoiling him,” Sanji would always chide the chefs, although secretly he was grateful that Zoro and the chefs were on good terms.
But maybe Zoro was growing restless with the way things were on Baratie. Sanji had less days off than he did back when they were part of a pirate crew. There were no more islands to explore, less opportunities for them to have a day all to themselves. So Zoro found more reasons to initiate physical contact with Sanji. He pulled him onto his lap when they sat down together. He grabbed him in his sleep and was always hesitant to let go upon waking. He’d touch him in some small way throughout the day whenever he saw him.
And then came the suggestions. It first started with simply telling Sanji what he should do regarding his work schedule.
“You work too hard, Cook,” Zoro would say. “You should ease up a little.”
“That’s what happens when you run a restaurant, Marimo,” Sanji would retort.
“You should go on vacation,” Zoro said one day, leaning against the wall and staring out the window. His arms were crossed and his stance was relaxed. He spoke as if this had just occurred to him, though Sanji was now starting to suspect it had been on his mind for longer than he’d let on. “Take a break from restaurant life. We can go visit the rest of the crew. Or just go wherever. Doesn’t have to be super far.”
“I don’t have time for a vacation,” Sanji said dismissively. He placed a cigarette between his teeth as he lit up.
“Why not?” Zoro asked, looking at Sanji.
“Who’s gonna run this place with me gone?” Sanji replied.
Zoro blinked. “Zeff. It was his restaurant, originally.”
“Zeff’s worked hard enough for three lifetimes,” Sanji said, waving the idea away with his hand.
“Okay,” Zoro said tensely, sounding as if he was forcing himself to be patient. “Couldn’t your cooks manage without you for a little bit? Some of them’ve been here as long as you.”
Sanji abruptly stopped in the middle of a drag of his cigarette, holding the smoke in his lungs as he tried and failed to imagine those idiots getting on without him. It was why he still hadn’t gotten around to appointing a sous chef.
He cringed, exhaling sharply through his teeth. “No,” he said firmly.
“You’re just making excuses now, Cook,” Zoro said, his brows pulling down in a scowl.
“What do you want from me, Zoro?” Sanji snapped. “I told you I can’t go on vacation! Can we talk about literally anything else? I don’t have much time left on my break and I’d rather spend it doing something else other than getting pestered by you!”
Zoro grew silent, his scowl easing somewhat, but not going away completely. “You know what?” Zoro said, pushing himself off the wall. He walked past Sanji, his boots treading heavily across the floorboards. “Forget it.”
And Sanji had, at least until now. And he thought Zoro had, too, since he hadn’t brought it up again, though he’d kept his distance during the next few days, leaving Sanji to himself until they retired to their bedroom. Sanji hadn’t said anything, preferring to leave it alone, and now, with Zoro lying on top of him, he felt guilt gnawing away at his heart.
-
“Hey,” Sanji said some time later.
Zoro took time to answer, his breath coming out in a short puff against Sanji’s bare skin. “Yeah?” he said groggily.
“Did you fall back asleep?” Sanji asked.
Zoro groaned, rolling off Sanji and onto his back. He stared up at the ceiling. Sanji rolled onto his side and laid his elbow on the pillow, propping himself up and cradling his head in his hand while he awaited Zoro’s response. “I think I did,” Zoro said.
Sanji smiled. He stared at Zoro, struck by a moment of clarity as the realization that this life, going to sleep with Zoro and waking up next to him each morning, was actually his. Zoro looked at him and caught him staring. He smirked. “Enjoying the view, Curly?”
“Maybe,” Sanji drawled. “You are pretty easy on the eyes, Marimo. Bedhead notwithstanding.”
Zoro rolled his eye at Sanji as he held open his arm invitingly. “Well, what are you waiting for?” he asked when Sanji didn’t move closer. “Come here already.”
Sanji obliged, laying his head on the junction between Zoro’s shoulder and his chest. Inhaling slowly, Sanji loosely wrapped his arm along Zoro’s stomach, enjoying the quiet stillness of their bedroom on this day off work. Idly rubbing his leg against Zoro’s, Sanji reflected over his decision to close the restaurant one day a week when Zoro had asked him about it. Not only did the rest of the men enjoy the free time, but it gave Sanji and Zoro peace and quiet all to themselves. It may have upset some of their clientele, and Zeff had given him some grief over it, but if it made Zoro happy, then Sanji would gladly deal with a few complaints.
Zoro had his arm around Sanji, rubbing the pad of his thumb against his shoulder. Several minutes passed before Zoro spoke again, and the hesitance in his voice made Sanji pay close attention. “Cook...”
“Yeah?”
“There’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you.”
“What is it?”
“What would you say if I told you that Luffy wants to take me with him, Usopp, and Nami on a trip?”
Sanji blinked. They’d spent days, even weeks, apart back when they were searching for the One Piece, including those two years the whole crew had spent apart. In theory, Sanji had no reason to hesitate before answering. But it had been a year since he’d taken Zoro onto the Baratie with him, and they hadn’t spent a night apart since. Sanji had become accustomed to starting and ending his days with Zoro by his side. He found the idea of something disrupting his routine to be daunting.
But he did not voice these thoughts. Instead he said, “How long were you thinking?”
“A few weeks,” Zoro responded. Sanji swallowed. “Maybe a month?”
“Why so long?” Sanji asked.
Sanji felt Zoro shrug. “You can ask Luffy that,” he said. “Something about visiting a few islands before heading back.”
“I see,” Sanji said quietly.
“You didn’t tell me what you think,” Zoro said, his thumb coming to a stop.
Sanji closed his eyes, his thoughts turning to how quiet Zoro had become when Sanji had shot down the idea of the two of them going on a trip together. It wouldn’t kill him to allow Zoro to have some fun with their friends. “I think,” he said, “that I’m going to have to prepare your and the others’ favorite meals before you go.”
-
“All right!” Nami said brightly, looking Zoro up and down. “Got everything you need, Zoro? We’re not turning back once we leave.”
“I made sure he does, Nami-san,” Sanji spoke for Zoro, winking at Nami.
Nami smiled at Sanji, nodding at him. “I know you did, Sanji-kun,” she said, demonstrating her faith in him by turning her attention to the map in her hands as she and the others made the final preparations before they boarded Sunny with Zoro.
Watching her go over the map of the islands she and the others intended on visiting, Sanji felt himself longing for the simplicity of the life he’d shared with his crew. He felt his heart filling up with nostalgia for the days when he and his friends could explore strange islands together, days when they could gather around the same table together and share stories and food. They still occasionally saw each other, but when their crew was scattered around the world, it was difficult to get everyone together at the same time.
Taking a drag from his cigarette, Sanji looked at four of the most important people in his life, and he felt the pull of adventure tugging on his heartstrings.
But he could feel the weight of Baratie and its responsibility all around him.
So Sanji exhaled smoke from his lungs and walked up to Zoro, who had Luffy wrapped around his torso. He held his cigarette between two fingers with one hand and he grabbed Zoro’s face with the other. He pulled him in for a long goodbye kiss, Luffy’s voice in his ear as his former captain tried to convince him to come with them.
-
It was quiet as Sanji got ready for bed. It was often quiet when he and Zoro got ready for bed together, as Zoro was not a loquacious person to begin with, and both had long ago learned to share an easy silence with each other, but this was an empty quiet that Sanji was now unused to.
Sanji stared at his reflection in the mirror as he brushed his teeth, his eyes blank and his jaw stiff, his movements mechanical. He looked at the unoccupied space next to him in the mirror, the beginning of a story about an entitled customer waiting to spring forward from his mouth. If Zoro were with him, Sanji would have pulled his toothbrush out of his mouth and, mouth full of foam, started telling him about his encounter with a customer that had insisted on being served a meal that currently wasn’t on the menu. And Zoro would have listened until Sanji popped his brush back into his mouth to finish brushing his teeth. Zoro, in that straight to the point way of his, would have asked him, “So did you kick his ass?”
Air escaped Sanji’s nose in a small burst of amusement at the thought. He pointed his eyes down toward the sink and spat out the toothpaste, wondering if Zoro was keeping up with the nighttime routine they’d established, and therefore brushing his teeth at the same time as Sanji. Rinsing out his mouth, Sanji could feel the weeks without Zoro stretching out before him, opening a chasm between the two of them.
-
Sanji had intended on waiting at least a week before picking up the Transponder Snail to call Zoro. He wanted to give Zoro time to himself with their friends, but also wanted to prove to himself that he wasn’t so needy that he couldn’t last a week without hearing Zoro’s voice. After all, Sanji thought as he chopped carrots for the stew he was working on, he’d gone longer without talking to Zoro. Surely Sanji wasn’t that needy, that clingy. Surely he had enough going on with the restaurant to keep him preoccupied. Maybe Zoro would end up calling him first.
But Sanji felt his restlessness steadily rising within him as the days passed. Work was as hectic and demanding as ever, and one of Sanji’s primary releases—taking a break in his office with Zoro—was gone, leaving Sanji trembling with an undercurrent of frustration and pent up aggression throughout the day. He’d tried channeling it into work, tried dealing with it on his own in his and Zoro’s room, and he tried calming his nerves by chain smoking like there was a secret prize at the end of each cigarette, all to no avail.
It was when he tried picking a fight with Carne and Patty that he finally gave in.
Sanji, at the end of his patience, goaded the longtime staff members into a fight that they could not possibly win. Carne and Patty, to their credit, fought back as valiantly as they could, but they were no match for Sanji. They knew this. Sanji knew. Zeff, who’d been watching from a corner, knew this.
Zeff had given Sanji one look and jutted his chin toward his former office, silently insisting that they talk. And suddenly Sanji was ten years old again, following Zeff until he came to his senses and took a few quick strides to catch up to Zeff and then move past him on the way to Sanji’s office.
Behind the closed door, Zeff simply told Sanji, “Get your affairs in order, Eggplant. You have no reason to bark at your men like that when they’ve done nothing wrong.”
Sanji had bristled at Zeff and told him to mind his own business, telling him, “Oh, you’re one to talk about lashing out at people when they don’t deserve it!” Privately he knew Zeff was right. However, instead of telling him so, Sanji engaged Zeff in a screaming match until their argument had petered out into little more than red faces and heavy breathing. Zeff had skulked out of the office, remaining silent for the rest of the day. Sanji had come out a short time later, angrily adjusting his tie, daring any one of the chefs in the kitchen to look his way.
Everyone in the kitchen, save Zeff and Sanji, kept their heads down as they worked on their individual tasks, the air thick with tension and their collective unease.
Sanji, walking stiffly back to his station, heard one chef mutter to another, “I miss Zoro.”
Sanji deflated a little at hearing that. Clenching his teeth, Sanji pointedly kept his eyes down as he worked, thinking, I miss Zoro, too.
He called Zoro later that evening.
-
“Cook?”
Sanji smiled at the sound of Zoro’s tinny voice on the other end of the receiver. He’d never heard a more beautiful sound in his life. “Hi, Marimo,” he said, reclining on their bed. “How’s the ‘adventure’ going?”
“Pretty tame,” Zoro said. “I was just thinking about how much more dangerous East Blue seemed back when we were all starting out. Now it feels downright peaceful.”
Sanji chuckled. Zoro’s assessment of the sea they called home brought back memories of how young they’d been when they’d all started sailing together, back when the odd Sea King was their biggest threat. They really had no clue what they were getting into back then. “How’s Luffy?” he asked.
“He’s having a blast,” Zoro said. “I think all he cares about is getting to sail with his friends again.”
The longing to be out on the open sea with his friends again awakened in Sanji, manifesting itself as a weight in his chest. He imagined himself on Sunny again, preparing lunch for them while Luffy and Usopp fished, Zoro napped in the sun or polished his swords, and Nami read in a lounge chair.
“That’s good,” Sanji said. He lay on his side, grasping the receiver in one hand. He comfortably draped his arm along his middle and drew his knees up slightly, imagining Zoro lying in bed behind him and spooning him, rather than talking to him on a Transponder Snail on another ship. “And you? How are you, Zoro? Not missing me too much, are you?”
“Missing you a regular amount,” Zoro said cheekily. The Snail, on its perch on the bedside table next to Sanji, mimicked the relaxed smile Zoro would wear while enjoying Sanji’s company. The only thing better than seeing the Snail replicate his love’s smile would be to see that smile in person.
“So you do miss me,” Sanji teased.
“Course I do,” Zoro said. “You know I do. Why wouldn’t I?”
“I know,” Sanji said. He imagined Zoro wrapping an arm around him, right under Sanji’s own. “It’s just nice to hear you say it.”
“I miss you, Cook,” Zoro said for Sanji’s benefit, and it made Sanji melt.
“I miss you, too,” Sanji said softly, hoping the Snail had picked up his voice.
“And what about you, Cook?” Zoro said. “You wanna tell me what happened today?”
Sanji frowned as he thought back to the fight he’d started with Patty and Carne, then the argument he’d had with Zeff. He shrugged into the open air, wondering if the Snail on Zoro’s end was currently mimicking his movements. “Nothing to report. Everything’s the same as usual around here. The men miss you.”
Zoro laughed. “You’re not being too hard on them without me around to help you...ah...relieve your stress, are you?”
Sanji grimaced, covering his face in shame. “Nope,” he said, his voice slightly strained. He made himself yawn, pretending he’d suddenly been overtaken by exhaustion. “Well, I’m pretty tired. I’ll talk to you later, Zoro.”
“Oh,” Zoro said. “Okay. G’night, Cook.”
“Night, Marimo,” Sanji said. “Love you.”
Sanji ended the call before Zoro could respond.
-
While Sanji slowly adjusted to spending his nights alone, it was in the quiet, stolen moments that he most missed Zoro. Finding a patch of sunlight, perfect for napping; stepping out for a smoke when the lunch rush had finished, picturing himself reaching his hand out and threading his fingers through Zoro’s; stepping into his office for a moment of solitude and picturing Zoro sitting at the window seat, inviting Sanji to sit with him.
Sanji decided to go for walk along Baratie’s deck before turning in for the night. He looked up at the moon and brought his cigarette to his lips, his mind on his and Zoro’s conversation earlier that night.
“When do you think you’ll be coming home?”
“Well, I think Nami’s had enough. Luffy’s begged her to let us visit one last island, and then we can go home. So as soon as we’re done with the next one, we’ll be heading home.”
Sanji inhaled deeply, trying to do the math in his head to figure out how much longer until he got to see Zoro again. Zoro and the others had been sailing for a couple of weeks now, but Sanji figured the trip back would be slightly faster since they wouldn’t be stopping at each island they came across. He only had to wait for just a little longer until he could have Zoro by his side again.
He stared up at the full moon, chuckling at himself for how ridiculous he was being. A month was nothing in the grand scheme of things, really. A month was speck of sand on the beach in the rest of his natural life. Just when had he become so soft? When he’d invited Zoro into his life, he supposed, and all the compromises and changes that entailed.
He let his gaze drift across the sky, taking in the map of constellations as familiar to him as the skin on the back of his hand. Was this how Zoro had felt? This yearning for more, this desire to spend more time with someone inaccessible to him? Sanji hoped that he didn’t make Zoro feel as lonely as he currently felt, hoped that the time they did spend together was better than total solitude, but a picture of what Zoro must have felt was beginning to form in Sanji’s head.
Sanji frowned, gaze falling until it landed on the sea. Remorse seized hold of his heart as he remembered all the small ways Zoro had sought Sanji’s touch in recent months, as if trying to squeeze out every last drop of quality time with Sanji in the fleeting minutes that they had. Just a little of Sanji’s time, that was all that Zoro asked of him. A week, at least, to visit a nearby village and spend some quality time together. Was that really so much to ask for? Sanji no longer thought so.
He thought of leaving the restaurant alone for a week. He could let Zeff watch over things, just like he had for so many years, but Sanji still didn’t like the idea of asking him to take over for him just so he could run away with Zoro for a short time. Running a restaurant was hard work and Zeff had more than earned his rest. So that either left one of the chefs onboard or looking for someone new. Sanji was hard on the men, but he knew any one of them was skilled enough to work as head chef, so long as they put in the work. It was just a matter of finding a man with the right personality.
Sanji would tell Zoro this when he saw him again. The idea of finally relinquishing some of his many responsibilities and letting someone else help out was strange, but Sanji had already alienated Zoro to the point of running off on a month long adventure with their captain. He didn’t want to end up losing him. He’d already lost Zoro once and he wasn’t going to let that happen again.
-
Sanji jumped on Zoro the moment he stepped foot on Baratie’s deck, tightly wrapping his four limbs around him. One hundred men couldn’t remove Sanji from Zoro if they tried.
Zoro took this in stride, supporting Sanji by the thighs. “Hi, Cook,” he managed to say before Sanji started kissing him.
Luffy hooted somewhere behind Zoro, shouting, “Sanji missed Zoro!”
Aware they had an audience, Sanji pulled back, but he grinned at Zoro, whispering, “Guess you should let me down now.”
Zoro laughed softly, his eye crinkling at the corner in a way that made Sanji’s heart melt into a puddle of mush. “I guess so,” he said, setting Sanji down.
Slipping an arm around Zoro, Sanji called to Luffy, Usopp, and Nami, inviting them onto Baratie for a meal to welcome them all back.
-
Pleasantly exhausted, Sanji relaxed into Zoro’s arms. Content smile etched into his face, Sanji breathed in Zoro’s scent, felt the heat of Zoro’s skin against his cheek. All was right with the world. Zoro lay there in bed with him, happy to share this moment with Sanji.
Sanji laid his hand on Zoro’s abdomen, relishing the solid feel of Zoro’s body beneath his touch. “I missed you,” he whispered.
“Missed you, too, Curly.”
“I don’t think you know how much I missed you, though,” Sanji continued.
“I dunno,” Zoro said, “you just gave me a pretty good idea of how much you missed me.”
Sanji paused before responding, frowning. “I’m serious, you know.”
“Mm?”
“Yeah,” Sanji said. “I...had a lot of time to think while you were gone.”
“That so?”
Sanji nodded against Zoro’s chest. “Yeah, it is. And I think... I think you were right.”
“About what?” Zoro asked.
“It wouldn’t kill me to take a vacation.”
Zoro paused at Sanji’s admission. “Yeah?” he said, his voice soft with uncertainty.
Sanji wrapped his arm around Zoro’s torso, gently squeezing. They hadn’t talked about it in so long, but he remembered that nightmarish time when Zoro was convinced that Sanji didn’t value their relationship. It made his heart ache to think that he could potentially make Zoro feel that way again. “Yeah,” he said.
He continued, “I mean, I still don’t want to dump this all on Zeff. But I really gave it some thought, and it wouldn’t hurt me to have someone who can step up for me when I’m not around. Maybe even make the workload a little easier on me. I don’t know, the idea of it is still so new to me. But I want to make you happy. And if that means I need to find someone who can watch over the restaurant while you and I take a small trip together, then I’ll do it.”
Zoro tightened his hold on Sanji, saying nothing. Sanji returned his embrace with the same fervor, smiling against Zoro’s chest.
“It’s really not too much trouble, is it?” Zoro eventually asked.
“It really isn’t,” Sanji responded. He lifted his head off Zoro’s chest so he could properly look at him. “And I’m sorry for making you think that it was.”
“Come here,” Zoro whispered, having nothing else to say.
And Sanji did, closing the gap between their mouths.

Smoker, Shanks headcanon/scenario- he is at your execution, but you react to the situation like Gol D. Roger then escape yourself
The first one using this theme with Luffy, Law, and Zoro did pretty well so I thought I would do another with different characters~
Also thank you for 300 followers!! 💕💕💕
*Miiiight have made these a little to dark/violent
•~•~•~•~
Warnings: slight angst, mentions of death, violence, blood, my thoughts got kinda dark
Smoker
Tumblr media
The sun was hidden by clouds and fog covered the grounds of Loguetown as the cheers and boos erupted from the crowd, quickly disappearing as the marines dragged you in to view leading you to the famous execution platform that once held the infamous Gol D. Roger.
Never once had you felt so much pride and fulfillment than this moment, knowing how disappointed your mentor would be that his student had turned to this instead of following in his marine steps.
You kept your head up as your eyes searched through the crowd of onlookers gathered to witness the execution of a pirate responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. You simply inhaled the cold air and and smirked at the children who looked up at you like you deserved this. Of course you deserved death, but right now? By marines? No, you would die fighting, you die with pride or don’t die at all.
Standing on the platform, you could see the faces of a thousand angered citizens and marines. You held no remorse for your crimes, you felt nothing for thosee who had seen their loved ones murdered at your hands.
“Do you have any last words {Name}”
“No, do you?”
Your question cleearly caught the marines and the crowd off guard, for a gasp was heard and the marines eyes doubled in size. A scream ripped through the crowd and you took that as a signal to begin your killing spree. You kicked the marines off the platform and broke apart your shackles, quickly jumping down to steal the soldier’s weapons.
Smoker watched on projecter den den mushi at some other marine base where he was told to stay. The Admirals had chosen to hold him there because even though they did not knnow of your relationship with the marine, they suspected something.
His face remained serious, appearing to show no emotion. But if someone had looked into his eyes as your words rolled out of the speaker, they would have seen the fear swimming behind his irisis. Smoker knew of your violence and continued rise in bodycount, but he had yet to see it. Only now as blood painted the walls of the city, did he realize he had fallen for a monster. He watched in horror as bodies fell left and right to the woman who showed no emotion except joy on her blood splattered face.
Smoker was supposed to be the one bringing down people like you, and yet he had let himself be caught in your net. But as your figure emerged from the destruction of his hometown, clothes drenched in blood and a devilish smile plastered on your face, he felt no love for you. Perhaps it was the similarities of your actions to Gol D. Roger’s that terrified him so- excpet you were living where as Roger had met his end. Maybe it was the way you cut down so many of the people he knew with no regret or hesitation, maybe it was the way he finally looked back at all the signs and realized how physcotic you actually are, or maybe it was the look of pride and justice that filled your eyes as you left countless bodies in your wake.Yes it was one of those that had prompted his immediate change of heart. Smoker no longer viewed you as human, a monster is what he called you when you met him again. What scared him most was your eyes which were filled still filled with bloodlust and unwavering pride as you told him he was no longer safe in your presence

Cheers congratulating the marines ricocheted off the walls of Loguetown. You scoffed at the confidence the people held in their oh so mighty marines. You fixed your hair one last time before a marine pushed you out and followed behind you with the other soldiers.
The crowd cheered and hurled insults at you as you were escorted to the platform of your execution. Holding your head up high and strutting through the parted crowd, you evoked more shouted jeers mixed with screams of “DEATH TO {NAME}” You’d be lying if you said you weren’t prideful to hear the results of your massacres. Your heart held no regrets nor pity for those who had suffered at your actions.
You feelings apparent on your face  made even the marines snarl insults into your ear as you climbed the steps of the platform.
“State your last words”
As your laughter ripped from your throat the crowd fell into silence.
“Last words are for fools who have regrets!”
The crowds’ once enraged faces turned to looks of terror as they realized you had no plan of dying today. The marines fell from the platform and you broke your shackles, quickly leaping into the chaos breaking out below.
Shanks and his crew had been watching with a den den mushi on his ship which was quickly approaching Loguetown. His crew had tried to tell him they wouldn’t make it in time to save you, but Shanks refused to believe them. Shanks watched with tears rolling down his face as you appeared on the projection. The view zoomed in on you and there gasps flooded the room. Shanks watched as the image of your grin mirrored that of his former captain’s, an unmistakable resemblance. The rest of the crew recognized it as well, and truth be told they were scared of what would happen. They knew you better than anyone, the people attending your execution were not safe, and they should have known that when your merciless and inhumane approach to enemies was what caused your reputation.
“Captain-” Shanks held his hand up at Lucky’s words. When your “last words” were said through the den den mushi, the whole crew gasped once again. They once again saw the reason for the “only dead” plastered on every one of your bounty posters.
And as your aggressive and blood thirsty nature took over, the crew broke in to cheers. All of the crew members had always found similarities between you and Roger’s pride and outlook on life, it had become an inside joke. But what set you apart was the cruelness in your heart. You could change personalities in the blink of an eye, leaping into battle like a demon who showed no hesitance in slaughter. You showed no mercy for anyone, and that was something that made you so feared throughout the seas. Shanks left the room where screams and cannonballs were drowned out by the cheers of his crew. He stood on the deck of the ship watching the Loguetown docks for a sign of you.
