tag(s)&warning(s). drabbles, gn! reader, sfw, fluff?, what constitutes as fluff idk girl, established relationship w/ zoro and sanji, luffy is a secret third thing i guess?, stray 'kms' threat in sanji's part
from vyon. big up to alex turner and no. 1 party anthem; luffy's is marginally longer because he's my most specialiest boy and he deserves special treatment and i struggled way too hard with characterising sanji in a relationship aside from all the embarrassing simping stuff, he's just amazingly pathetic, i don't wna talk about it, the main star here is luffy
like a lot of other things, kissing comes easy to luffy. though he's never had any couples around him as he grew up, he's been on enough adventures to catch a number of couples share a few quick pecks here and there. sabo's once mentioned kissing as well— a sort of distant memory that comes back when your lips first land on his cheek on your supposed first date. it might be sabo's fault, or his parents, that luffy believes kissing to be bleugh before he's tried it. though in sabo's defence, there wasn't a child in the world that would want to see their parents kissing. still, it isn't as bad as sabo made it out to be, luffy thinks as his wide–eyed gaze follows you back onto the sunny. there's something in the shape of your lips sunburnt onto his cheek, crisp just underneath the scar he'd gotten as a child.
the old scar is a smudge between a burning hypersensitivity and a cold unfeeling stretch of skin; your lips brush against the scar and it tingles itself into simultaneous death and rebirth. burning, melting— luffy presses a hand against his cheek and feels full. then his lips pull into a grin and the burn of your lips spreads out, pushing through every fold of skin as his hand reaches out for the sunny and he flings himself into the air, allowing the feeling to crawl through sinew.
luffy is no stranger to touching— he does it in painstaking excess, but there's a childhood teaching in him that kissing is not the same as touching. he stares at nami for a while, wondering if the instinct to feel her is the same as it is for you; she gets annoyed by his unwavering stare and swats at his head. he decides it's a no.
kissing is meant to be con... consumption? conservative— constellation? no, it's one of those 'c' words that he doesn't really remember, but he knows that he's supposed to ask you if you want him to kiss you. he doesn't understand the idea of waiting for permission but he'd really hate it if you were grossed out, like ace once told him would happen if kissing happened unconventionally(?) (that's not right he thinks), so he asks you one day.
as simple as he gets, luffy comes up to you and asks. "do you want me to kiss you?"
you splutter in shock and you hear movements on the deck still. luffy thinks he'd maybe forgotten something that the people in foosa village taught him but he waits for you to answer anyways. it doesn't come because sanji is aiming a kick at his head and shouting at him about the delicate intricacies of romance and courting. through all the dizzying flips of colour as he jumped away from sanji's attack, a kaleidoscope of the things he loves the most (the sea, his ship, his crew) in his eyes, he sees the hesitant embarrassment that colours your cheeks in. the burn that you've placed in him sparking up a fuse between the two of you at the slip of his tongue against gums and he laughs, swinging away and crash landing on whatever usopp was building out of sticks.
you return to him at a more private time, slip up next to him wordlessly— he doesn't say anything so you fear that he'd forgotten.
"do you still mean it?" your shoulder knocks against his.
"mean what?"
you turn to look at him, your eyes flickering down. "when you asked if i wanted you to kiss me."
that gets his attention, his head turns to you with a flexibility only he has— his eyes blinking at you carefully. "i did, did you make up your mind?" his lips pulled up into a grin, "you want me to kiss you now?"
you wish he had a less abrasive way of asking, but the answer is the same regardless. you nod and luffy takes.
you're not sure what you're expecting at this point. you know how luffy is about psychical touch, he's no stranger to it— everything he's ever known, he's ran his hands over. the amount of times you've been knocked down to his reckless habit of flinging himself into your back, you expect the same thing here.
luffy inspects you for a moment, the corners of his lips pulling down before twitching into a pout, "it's not gonna hurt, silly, why'd you look like that?" he shifts his body to face yours, his knees knocking against yours as he pushes his face closer.
then, his lips stretch outwards— his damn devil fruit— and it's so comical how his puckered lips pulled towards you to press gently against your cheek that you're laughing when it snaps back into place. luffy laughs along with you for a moment. a gooey comfort strained inside of you, your hands pressed against his cheeks— you find a simple joy in pulling his face, and then you find a better joy in leaning yourself closer to press your lips against his.
you're giving so luffy takes. he shifts onto his knees for better leverage to lean into you— the movements are stiff and careless. he's less kissing you and more just pushing his face into yours but you can feel the strain of his smile against your lips so no matter. being luffy, he pushes and he pushes greedily until your hands move from his face to the deck to keep yourself from falling.
it's so stupid how, even though this sucks, you want to make an occupation of kissing him.
it becomes a habit for him to kiss you no matter how far away you are by taking advantage of his devil fruit. eventually, he does get better; you realise why after a pointed comment from robin that hints to the fact that he'd asked her for kissing tips.
zoro is all lingering touch, heated spaces, and fizzling affection. it's not often that he gives you the pleasure of being skin close with him— not that you mind. he's eye candy enough, grunting and sweating in a handstand with barbells methodically placed on his feet and boxes of miscellaneous supplies for added weight. he's never been the type to need the world in his life; everything he's done has always been to prove a sick something to himself, to his strength.
his devotion is similar. there's no place for prying eyes in your relationship when there's you, the fulfilling adoration, and zoro. sometimes, there is also his swords and other times, there is an overwhelming luffy (who knows no boundaries).
he's always more forgiving with you, but he draws the line at excessive pda and you respect that boundary. fleeting contact has never been zoro's strong suit, he's an all or nothing soldier so when it comes to kissing, he likes the ready privacy that allows him to indulge. so he ignores the pointed staring, how you've made yourself comfortable on the benches in the crow's nest; your body sprawled out following the curve of the seats as your face turns red from how you have your head hanging off the cushioned planks.
he grunted, turning his head back down to the floor before he loses his balance.
you start counting, "one, two, three." he's well past those measly numbers but he lets you do as you please. "four, five, one, three, sixty–five, twelve, two, negative five, twenty, fourteen, nine—"
he folds his legs down against his chest, letting the weights fall to the floor with a thud. "alright," he straightened up, "you've made your point." an unimpressed look crosses his face.
your lips curled up into a grin and then you pull yourself up, throwing his towel at him. he takes the hit to the face and presses his hand over the fabric to wipe away the sweat and falls next to you, sliding his body down for his head to lay on your thigh.
"ewwww," your face scrunched up, "you're sticking to me." his hair is clinging to his forehead, interrupted strokes of green paint against his temple.
"shut it."
a laugh is quiet on your lips as zoro falls into the comfort of the moment, his eye closing. you trace over his face and then you crane yourself down, ignoring the ache in your spine and neck, your lips fall onto his forehead, "one." you counted. then onto the space between his furrowed brows, "two," his nose, "three". over his eye, "four." you pull back just in time to feel his lashes scratch over your lips.
a heavy judgement in his eye, stern and serious— he curls an arm up to press against your nape and pulls you down. there's a weight that's tethering you to the moment in the curves of his arm and a light–headedness that makes the stillness burst at the seams as zoro ignites everything alive. it's a slow and careful thing, how his head rises to meets yours and then how it tilts so he can slide his lips onto yours.
his arm drags across your neck until you feel moisture in the contour of his calloused hand, fingers pushes into your hair as zoro leans back from your lips, humming. "five." he says, a whisper of a smirk on his lips. a flicker of tender violence in how he fists your hair at its base and pulls your head back to give himself access to your neck. all or nothing, you're reminded, he drags this kind of simple affection into long, several moments.
he continues counting, picking up where you left off until you both hear luffy calling for zoro to help him fish and your relationship mellows back down, protected in loud secrecy.
there's always a strange line to tread when it comes to sharing intimacy with sanji. he's the quickest to melt when it's passing pecks, a second touch of your chapped lips against his cheek.
it depends on the atmosphere of the moment. just as quick as you can puppeteer him to pliant stuttering, sanji is more than capable of wearing you down to your barest core with his appreciative methodical gestures.
what everyone else is most familiar with are the fast moments of sanji softening when you offhandedly touch him. a simple smile on your lips as he gracefully sets your plate down in front of you, ease in the way your head turns to face him and you give his cheek a grateful peck, a quick kiss against his lips when you're splitting ways upon docking on a new island. it's enough of a spectacle that luffy makes the same laughing racket when you kiss sanji casually to see him twirl with new founded energy and hearts in his eyes; that zoro has a trademarked insult ready on his lips whenever it happens; that nami owns a jar that sanji has to put money into whenever he starts his weird dance.
it's almost easy to forget how sanji reciprocates. love has always been a second language to him— it's burrowed in his every unhurried moment when cooking, it's a burn that drove an abscess in him when he was younger, it's straightened postures and the clean lines of his stature for every perverted thought that plagues him. his every move carries an echo, a drumming confession that rings i love you, i love you, i love you until the words are bleeding raw into each other and you feel undeserving in his passion that stinks of cigarette smoke.
the disturbance of the lit end against a clear canvas of blue skies, his arms folded over the handrails of the sunny, the strokes of grey smoke that taints the pristine clouds that rest languidly; a rigid lock on his features until you're brought to his attention with your shoes clicking against the deck. his face shifts into something more delicate— full of feeling that's different from his usual excitable manner.
"bad for you," you begin with a light–hearted scold, plucking the cigarette away from his lips. he turns to you, his back against the handrails.
his restless hands search for touch and find an answering comfort on your skin, turning up and down over the shape of your hips until his thumbs dig into the waistband of your bottoms. "don't," he pleads, "you know it kills me when you're disappointed."
your lips turn upwards, "should i cry?"
"please." his voice wavers between a weak warning and aching desperation as his head falls onto your shoulder, pulling you closer.
the smell of smoke is cauterised into his skin— you don't mind it and you don't mind him smoking, but you think it's funny to act like you do if it has sanji like this. his hair scratches against your skin, tickling an itch he'd placed in you long ago and you thread your straying hand into the strands as his fingers press demandingly into your hips. following your motion, sanji turns his head to look up at you.
a furrow in his brows and a plea in his eyes.
"you know i'm teasing," you lean down, pressing a kiss against his lips as an attempt to appease him, "but you know i'll have to kill myself if chopper comes and redirects his disappointment at me again." you sigh, weary at just the topic. "i mean seriously, he looks at me like i'm the one shoving cigarettes into your mouth and forcing you to inhale."
sanji tries to focus on your words but your lips have left him cold when you pull away; suddenly, being skin to skin isn't enough and he's trying to placate the greed that is curdling inside of him. it works for the better half of a second, his thumbs pull out of your waistband and his arms wrapped around you, one around your waist and the other dressed against your back.
he ducks his head down and settles his craving.
sanji is gentle all around, careful to make even his affections palatable. he starts slow, testing waters that he's skinny dipped in previously and when he finds no rejection, he moves in deeper. he's a lifelong hunger that can never hope to be satiated when close to you, unwavering in a promise that has wedding bells ringing deep in your bones.
there's a new memory of a life he wishes for you, brought to life and fed by the taste of you. for now, he has to pull away as the ship rocks into a tempestuous sea and panicked feet disrupt the echo of the bells. nami starts to shout orders. he pulls away. his heart stutters in time with the unpredictable storm. sanji trips over his feet on his way to pull up the sails and he starts twirling when it makes you laugh.

Sanji in his little "Kiss the Cook" apron.
Is it romantic? Starting as a joke with kisses on the cheek and temple until the two of you end up full on making out?
Or is it platonic? With the straw hats giving him little kisses in passing, starting with Luffy and spreading through the crew until even Zoro relents? Because what's better than kissing the homies goodnight?
You tell me snail, what's the move?
-♡♡ lots of love
"porque no los dos?"
Kiss the Cook
Masterlist here
Word Count: 1,700+
Synopsis: Sanji was gifted an apron from Nami after returning back from town. Every member of the crew aside from Zoro and you have followed the embroidered instructions written on his chest, and he wasn't happy about the lack of kisses from you. You finally relent and give him what he wants.
Themes: platonic kisses, fluff, implied f!reader - but can be read as gn!reader, sanji has feelings for you, you have unspoken feelings for sanji, idiots in love, Sanji has lost that 'line-cook rizz'.
Notes: This has been in my ask box for less than a day. I don't know what it is about you, anon. As soon as I see those two little hearts I'm just overtaken by something. I blame the "kisses". @chikariart on twitter.

“Could these onions misbehave any more?” the chef grumbled under his breath, gritting his teeth and clamping hard down on his cigarette, “C’mon, now. What have I gotta do to get your layers off? Talk dirty to you?” He used the steel edge of his knife to attempt to pry the brown outer layer away from its fleshy underside with shaking hands.
Sanji’s nerves were ignited, his whole composure on edge and waiting for the next intrusion in his kitchen and potential distraction from his work.
When Nami brought the frilly pink apron his way, he was initially ecstatic at the notion he was thought of enough to be given a little gift. But as the red embroidery with white stitched hearts expressed consent for his body to be given sweet kisses at all times, he was truly alert. With an assault of affection from all who approached him each time he adorned the fabric in its wake, he was finding it difficult to focus on each mundane kitchen task.
In this case, peeling onions was the bane of his existence. As the flickered peel almost withdrew from the circular bulb, it split and only chipped off a small amount of the outer layer.
Sanji loved kisses, adored kisses: all the cheek, forehead and shoulder kisses he'd received from the crew. Cheeky Nami kisses, soft Robin kisses, and nibbled toothy kisses from Chopper were his favorites.
He was less enthusiastic about hulking, wet kisses from Franky, nor the hungry cheek kisses from Luffy which was used to depict the state of his appetite. Usopp was the middle ground, his kisses were a tease on his shoulder with a rough clap and a gaggle of laughter immediately thereafter.
Brook’s kisses were actually quite funny to the blonde cook. As the skeleton man had no lips to kiss with, he resigned himself to the notion of simply walking past him, and taunting him with a melodic hum of the words: “kiss,” “kisses,” or an emphatic “mwah,” as he did so.
Of the members of the remaining crew, he was happy that the stinky moss-head kept his lips to himself. There was no way he would allow him the closer proximity to his body without starting a sparring match. He was, however, not so happy that you were yet to place your lips sweetly on the apple of his cheek.
Sanji adored you, wanted to treat you with the utmost respect and dote on you alongside the other members of the crew. You were special to him, and he rationalized that his small crush was why he was craving a scrap of your attention so much. As he continued cursing at the onions, he heard a soft tap on the doorway to the kitchen.
“Need help, cook?” Sanji looked up, noticing you leaning on the side of the door. He smiled softly at you, biting back his smile and gulping his insecurity.
“Oh, beautiful angel,” he managed to turn away from the counter and look out the window as he resumed his battle with the onions, “I'm all good here, don't you worry yourself. Go relax with the others.” You clicked your tongue and stepped closer to the bench and stood a few feet away from the blonde cook.
Noticing his posture, you knit your brows in puzzlement. He was twitching while he was going about his peeling, finally managing to coax the shell away from the exterior and sigh in relief. His cheeks were tinted a soft shade of pastel pink, his nose the most darkened by the blushy hue.
Looking down, the frilly pink apron with ‘Kiss the Cook,’ held the final piece of information as to his nervous composure. You smiled softly at him, looking to where his hands skillfully minced the onions and threw them into a scorching pot with molten butter and aromatic herbs.
He rinsed his hands in the sink, lathering them with soapy froth and soaking the suds with glassy water. The scent from the pot of sweetened onions with rosemary, sage and thyme had your mouth salivating in anticipation of what was to come.
“What's cooking, good looking?” you smiled at him softly, gesturing with your chin to the pot on the stove. He froze up, his ears tinting darker with the shade of pink.
“J-Just a mirepoix,” he stuttered out, prompting you to shake your head and offer him a soft laugh in response. Taking the extinguished cigarette out of his lips, he placed the butt in the bin beneath the sink.
Noticing the tension in his body, you reach up and place a hand on his shoulder to urge him to turn to face you. He meets his gray orbs with yours, a sheepish look on his face as you gaze up into his eyes.
“You've been off the line for too long, Sanji,” you scrunch your nose up playfully at him, “Lost that flirtatious kitchen charisma and banter, blushing like a bride at the most simple of compliments. What's going on with you?” You graze your fingers along his jaw, leaving a rising layer of goose flesh in its wake.
“I-It’s-...” Sanji gulped his nerves back, hanging his head with a soft laugh and subtle shake in response, “...It's this stupid apron.” You look down at the apron with a smirk.
“What about the ‘stupid apron’, Sanji?” you ask with a raised brow before gazing back into his eyes, “Not your color?” He continued smiling and shaking his head at you before looking up through his eyelashes into your questioning and puzzled eyes.
“To be honest with you,” he sucked his bottom lip between his teeth to halt his words from sounding too eager, “I actually love it. Even though it started as a joke, it has actually made a big difference the way I’ve been feeling lately.” He shrugged, turning his eyes back to the ground and snickering, “Stupid, right?”
Cupping his face, you elevate his head and hum at him in deep contemplation.
“Not stupid,” you shrug at him, darting your eyes between his and flickering your gaze down to his lips, “Not stupid at all.” His breath hitched in his throat, eyes beginning to fill with hope as you drew your face ever closer to his.
Closing his eyes, he parted his lips and anticipated feeling yours brush with them. His heart beat in his throat, his ears hearing that drum of hope ringing with his elevated pulse. As he drew his face closer still, the balloon of anticipation was instantly deflated as he felt your lips brush with the apple of his cheek and linger for less than a single second.
As you withdrew from his cheek, Sanji was left feeling like a complete idiot. He stared vacantly, directly ahead with unblinking eyes and his ego completely deflated. His heart fizzled out like a flame being snuffed by a wet blanket.
Looking at his vacant expression and the soft blush on his cheeks, you couldn’t help yourself. A single, timid kiss was not enough of an indulgence to grant to the blonde cook, in your opinion. You leaned forward once more, pressing a soft kiss on his angular jaw before pressing another on his neck above his pulse and beneath his ear lobe.
Sanji’s breath hitched, his hands opening and closing in clenched fists and shaking extensions. Gasping, he leant his head to the side and whimpered at the soft touches you were pressing into his skin. His pulse quickened, his breath hitched, and his eyes clenched tightly shut as he argued with himself where to place his hands on you.
Trailing your lips down to his collarbone, you pressed a sweet and gentle kiss against the bone before clamping your teeth down onto the flesh. Sanji mewled in pleasure at the attention, throwing his head back and drawing up his forearm to his face to catch the damp blood from exiting his nose. His head was dizzy, his lips parting and whining as he felt your tongue swirl around the soft bite to his collar.
Pulling away from him, you sucked your lips into your mouth and bit-back your smile at his reaction. He slowly drew his eyes down to meet yours, the irises eclipsed by blown pupils and his desire. Giggling at him, you tilted your head to the side and clasped your hands behind your back and rocked on your feet.
Sanji surged his body forward, claiming your cheeks beneath his hands and carding his fingers through your hair the moment his lips descended onto yours. You squeaked in response, immediately placing your hands on Sanji’s hips as he pinned you against the sink with his hips. His kisses were needy, desperate and full of desire.
As he rotated his chin to deepen the oscillation, you reached up to his shoulder and tapped it twice while gasping in his mouth. He tugged himself away, looking down at you in shock with wide eyes and panting breath.
“I-I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” he began to hastily relay his apologies, “I didn’t mean to do that, truly. The other kisses I get from the crew are usually a little more hasty and less indulgent. I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable or anything, honest-.”
“-Sanji,” you laugh at him, looking up through half-hooded lashes and brushing your nose with his, “Your mirepoix is going to burn.”
Immediately, Sanji broke himself away from you and stomped over to the large pot. He grumbled as he stirred the aromatics with a wooden spoon, growling under his breath, “This stupid apron has been nothing but a complete distraction.” You giggled at him as he aggressively began stirring at the pot to salvage the caramelizing vegetables.
“That’s it,” he tore the apron away from his chest and cast it to the side, “No more kisses in the kitchen. I refuse to have good food spoil because I’ve been getting distracted by soft kisses… sweet kisses…” he trailed off, fishing around in his pocket for a cigarette after he rotated the vegetables within the butter.
Shaking your head, you go and retrieve the apron from where he cast it aside and hung it over the kitchen table. Eyeing him over mischievously, you walk over to him and hold his hips firmly from behind and place one more soft kiss between his shoulder blades.
“Come find me when you want to put on that stupid apron again, hm?” you utter, releasing his hips and making your way over to the kitchen doorway and out of the room with haste.
Sanji shook his head with a warm smile and a dark blush. Looking to where you had just left, he sighed deeply and began to focus solely on the meal preparation with no more cause for distraction.

Hi, I saw that your request is open but I am not sure where to request you so I send here. Hope this is correct.
Can I request for anime sanji? I have some ideas where f reader like him but feel insecure so she don't confess. And for sanji, he feel that he don't deserve love so he keep thinking the reader is just kind. And maybe the crew make them confess or something. Not sure this is enough but thank you in advance!
The Exception
pairing: anime!Vinsmoke Sanji x f!Reader
warnings: silly mutual pining, the crew making everything so very obvious, reader and sanji kind of being blind, reassurances!! <3
a/n: thank you for requesting! yes, you requested at the right place hehe. i really enjoyed writing this one :)
+ lil backstory for the title, i was thinking of one then thought of 'foolish one' by t.swift, but like obviously with how the title is written, reader obviously is the exception. yeah that's about it. enjoy reading!
You had always known Sanji to be the flirty type.
Every woman he'd see, he'd end up talking to - flirting with.
Even you fell for the trap. Moreover, you had fallen for him.
You know you shouldn't, because he flirted with every woman he'd come across. You weren't anyone special, certainly not to him.
But then there would be times that it seemed as if he would slip. "Would you like some snacks while you wait, my missus?"
Your eyes widened at the pet name but you tried to hide it, given that he would probably often use it with others, too.
Usopp watched curiously from afar as the two of you looked away from each other, eyes wide and cheeks flushed.
Sanji can't believe he just called you that. He hoped he hadn't called himself out.
Luffy then suddenly approached the two of you.
"Hey! How's my favorite cook and favorite crew member doing?" He placed an arm around both your shoulders.
You chuckled as you were saved from the awkward tension you think you created. "You can't say I'm your favorite crew member, Luffy."
"Why not? I'm the captain."
"I was just offering to make Miss Y/N a snack, captain." Sanji looked at you as he spoke, though you couldn't bring yourself to look back at him.
"Oh, I want one!" Luffy took his arm from around your shoulders to raise his hand.
"What about you, lovely?" He asked you. You finally looked at him.
"Sure, Sanji." You smiled up at him. "Anything will do, thank you.
He nodded with courtesy. "Coming right up. It won't take long."
Nami was waiting inside the cabin when Sanji entered to use the kitchen. "Oh, Miss Nami," he noticed her presence, "I'm making snacks for the captain and Y/N, would you like something specific?"
"I'll have whatever they're having. Thanks," she spoke, seeming distracted.
Sanji went on to start making a snack that he thought you'd like. While doing so, he noticed Nami's gaze remained on him.
"Anything I can help you with?"
Nami smiled. "You like her."
Sanji looked at her, then uttered your name in a question. He then chuckled nervously as he looked back down at what he was cutting up.
"No, what makes you think that?"
"The fact that you immediately thought of her when I didn't give any hints or names as to who I'm talking about."
Sanji paused from cutting, then went back to it. "No, it's nothing like that. She's too good for me. She should be with someone who actually deserves to be loved by her."
"You just said it's nothing like that then proceeded to prove me it's something like that." Sanji only smiled - he got caught and he knew it.
"Don't mind it, Miss Nami, it's not a big deal." Nami, finding that she had gotten the information she needed, shrugged her shoulders and went to her room.
Meanwhile, as you watched Sanji retreat into the kitchen, Luffy looked between you and Sanji's departing figure.
"Seems you and Sanji are getting along well, huh?" You hummed.
"Zoro told me you had a crush on him." You almost choked. "Is that true?"
"Zoro?" You looked at where he laid, sleeping on the floor of the main deck. Your volume lowered.
"You don't think he told Sanji, do you?"
Luffy didn't seem to get your hint for him to lower his voice, as he laughed very loud. "With how much they play around and shout at each other, I don't think they have time to talk about those things."
You squinted your eyes at him. "You're not telling Sanji, are you?"
His brows furrowed in confusion. "No. Why, should I?"
"No!"
"Gosh, Luffy, don't you know the principles in these types of situations?" Usopp had began approaching the two of you.
"What situations?" Luffy curiously asked.
Usopp sighed hopelessly. "Don't worry. I've been the Sanji in these situations a lot of times, I know just what you need to do."
"What do I need to do, Captain Usopp?" You teased, deciding to go along his narrative. Usopp's face lit up as you called him captain, a smile appearing on his lips.
"Hey, I'm the captain," Luffy argued.
"Shh, now." Usopp waved at Luffy dismissively while keeping his gaze on you. He then placed a hand on the ledge you were leaning against and pointed at you.
"Here's what you need to do: you're gonna glance at each other shyly at first, then you'd start to get closer to each other until not a day passes where you don't talk endlessly, then he's gonna tell you how he finds you beautiful and how you light up his world, then you'll share a kiss of happy ever after."
You turned to Luffy, though he seemed convinced.
"Woah, that sounds so cool!" Luffy genuinely/ gawked.
"...Isn't that the plot for famous romance stories?"
You questioned to affirm.
"...No," Usopp denied.
You shook her head as you exhaled. "Either way, I'm not doing that. I'd just be making a fool of myself."
One of their brows raised in unison. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, look at me." They looked, and they looked puzzled. You chuckled. Of course you had to point it out, it was them you were talking to. "I'm not exactly pretty."
Their eyes widened, bewildered.
"...WHAT?"
You heard the sound of a sword unsheathing from the main deck.
"Oh. Zoro!" Luffy waved at the swordsman, clueless that his exclamation had led to him waking up.
"Sorry, Zoro, we're all safe!" Usopp reassured.
"Then why are you screaming for?!" Zoro shouted back, scolding them.
"Boy, he sure gets grumpy when he gets woken up." Usopp scratched the nape of his neck.
Luffy's booming voice echoed across the ship's entire deck. "We're telling her how to tell Sanji she likes him!"
"Are you trying to tell him yourself?!" You and Usopp knocked him upside the head.
"Shh, he'll hear you!" Usopp said at the same time.
"You're not telling me you like that curl-fry freak?" Zoro asked as he got into position to go back to sleep.
"What does it matter? Nothing's obviously going to happen."
"Not when you're bringing yourself down. You need to stop doing that." He crossed his arms and shut his eyes.
"I'm sorry, okay?" You looked at the three of them.
"I'm sorry that the truth offends you." Usopp and Luffy gently knocked you upside the head.

Everyone knew about your little crush at this point. And Sanji had to have heard Luffy.
He was acting odd now, but not in a way that anyone who didn't observe him as much as you did would notice.
"Miss Nami, would you like some refreshment? I made cocktails to battle the heat," he offered. You and Nami had been sitting on chairs overlooking the ocean, a table between the two of you.
"Thank you, Sanji."
What seemed like a brief pause (Nami silently signaled Sanji to approach you while the latter's cheeks became flushed) settled while you tried to mind your own business.
Then Sanji called your name. Just your name.
"Cocktail? It's good."
You swallowed the lump that built up in your throat.
"Of course it is, Sanji, you're the one that made them," you complimented as you took a glass. Though you had looked away, Sanji smiled at you at your compliment. Then he brought his foot down onto Luffy's head.
"These are for the ladies, Luffy!" He scolded as the captain reached for a glass.
Luffy frowned as he rubbed the crown of his head through his straw hat. "Ow."
You couldn't help but chuckle at the interaction.
"Thank you, Sanji."
Sanji's scowl left his face as he turned to you, a smile replacing it. "You're welcome, my love."
Nami slowly turned to you as she heard Sanji's footsteps depart.
""My love," you are kidding me," she was first to speak.
"He's called you "my love," before," you argued with a chuckle.
"He called me "love," there's a difference, the biggest being I wasn't his love."
You shook your head. "Nami, I - "
"You have got to tell him," she told you sternly. You looked in her eyes to see if there was any way out of her decision for you.
"It doesn't mean anything, I'm telling you," you insisted.
Nami contemplated on telling you about Sanji's accidental confession of his feelings towards you.
She decided to wait on it.
* * * * * *
The crew teased you a lot.
There was no way he didn't know at this point.
There was even one time Luffy slipped up during dinner.
"You know, when I see the two of you together," he motioned towards you and Sanji, who had winded up sitting next to each other, "I just keep thinking about the time Zoro and Nami told me about your little cru - "
"Crud!" You cut him off in a shout, then stomped on his foot under the table.
"Ow!"
"Oh, crud, I - "You could see Usopp stifling a chuckle. You stomped on his foot as well.
"Ow!"
"Stubbed my toe," you said flatly. "But it's fine," you reassured.
Sanji glanced under the table and sharply exhaled. "We really do need a doctor."
He stood from the table with his plate, placing it in the sink before taking out a pack of cigarettes and facing the counter.
"You keep your mouth shut," you told Luffy with a hushed tone.
"The sooner you tell him, the sooner we'll leave this hell of you pining over him," Zoro spoke before scooping food into his mouth.
"He's oddly right," Nami agreed with the swordsman.
You glanced at everyone at the table before sighing exasperatedly. You stood wordlessly from the tahle and went to your shared room with Nami.
Sanji turned as he heard footsteps, his hand raising as he almost called for you. "Oh - " Your door swung shut before he could.
"She's heading to bed early," Nami excused you.
"Huh..." Sanji looked at your closed door and inhaled through his cigarette. "I was gonna give her a desert."
Still, he turned back around to face the counter.
"Ooh, can I have it instead?" Luffy asked, already salivating and reaching for it despite it not being finished.
"No, you can't." He kicked Luffy's hand away.
* * * * * *
You think Sanji finally had enough.
He seemed pent up today, his mouth moving as if he were speaking to himself (though the cigarette between them didn't fall), though no words came out.
It totally wasn't odd, the way you would pass by the kitchen on the way to your room and back to the main deck multiple times just so you could assess what he was feeling without staying in the same room as himself for too long.
You were on your way back to your room when he called your name. You froze in your steps and slowly turned to face him.
"Why do you keep going back and forth?"
...He noticed.
"I'm getting things from my and Nami's room," you thought quickly.
"Like what?"
Nothing came to mind. "...Things."
He opened his mouth to speak but you beat him to it.
"Are you okay? You seem pent up." He seemed taken aback when you talked before he could, because he only looked at you for a moment.
"What's been going on with you?" He asked.
"What's been going on with you? I asked you first."
He sighed and took his cigarette between his middle and index finger as he took a hit from it.
"The crew's just been having some inside joke, apparently." Your blood ran cold.
"Yeah." You nervously scratched the back of your head. "You shouldn't...listen to them."
Sanji's brows creased together with confusion.
"No, I'm supposed to tell you that." He pointed at you.
Your brows furrowed as well. "Because...?"
His eyes slightly widened. "...I thought you knew."
"Knew what?"
He muttered something.
"What?"
"That I...like...you," he spoke louder this time, and more hesitant.
You were stunned for a moment.
"...Why?"
"What do you mean "why?"" He questioned bewilderedly.
"Have you seen me?" You motioned at yourself.
"Darling, all I do is look at you." He chuckled. "You're the most beautiful, most clever, most kind person I've ever met."
You laughed, flustered from his words. "Where are you getting that from?"
"From looking at you - watching you and seeing you struggle to love yourself." He ran his hand through his hair.
"But that's all I've been doing - watching. Even if somehow, you did like me - "
"I do," you cut himself off before you even realized that you did. Still, you continued. "I like you, too."
Sanji sighed, smoke leaving his lips. "We couldn't."
Your heart fell. "Why not?"
"Because I don't deserve you. I don't deserve your love. You're kind and pure, I'm scared I might," he shrugged sheepishly, "taint that."
"You won't," you reassured and absently took his hands in yours, "Here I was thinking you were too good for me."
Then the two of you just laughed, because you both realized that you both thought the same about each other. You sat in silence for a few moments, just looking at each other.
"Maybe we should just try," Sanji suggested. "We've already determined we're too good for each other, I think we should prove ourselves wrong," he humored.
"You do deserve my love," you assured him. "And I want to love you."
"So do I." He smiled at you.
He saw your reciprocated smile falter and if he looked close enough, he could swear to see the different, negative, self-conscious thoughts running through your head at that moment.
He took his hand from yours to tuck your hair behind your ear. "My beautiful, lovely Y/N."

You Cook For them even though you suck at it-
Buggy, Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Shanks, Mihawk
Buggy
You you offer to cook for him he is hesitant. Buggy is actually a great cook and will take over making food for you if he catches you in the kitchens of the Big Top.
"I don't know about that (Y/N)-" He would say quickly as you smile at him.
"It will be fine I promise! I've gotten better!" No the fuck you hadnt- he shouldn't have trusted you with this when you set down a bowl of slop.
"Oh What the fuck (Y/N)!? What is this?! Why is it still moving?" He yelled poking some form of meat with a spoon and watching it twitch back.
"It's just rare!" You argue back. "Rare my ass!!" He yelled before forcing himself to take a bite.
He quite literally falls apart to the ground.
Luffy
Luffy would be excited that you offered to cook for him. Being too happy to ignore the weird smell from the kitchen and from the bowl you set down.
He quickly tucked in, eating away at the bowl until it was gone and smiling brightly at you.
"Thank you for the meal (Y/N)!" He said cheerfully, you smiled excitedly.
"Did it taste good?" He stares at you for a moment like he was thinking. "No it was pretty disgusting" you stare at him shocked.
"Why did you eat it then?" You question at his bluntness of willing to eat something gross.
"Cause you made it!" Eh Good enough-
Zoro
Is equally as bad as a cook as you- So when the two of you come together it only means chaos.
"Zoro im going make us a special meal!" You chime, watching him nod and follow along.
In the kitchen he drinks as he watches you attempt to cook. Even using his sword to cut up random vegetables and fruit. Once done it is a jet black color pouring out purple steam- He stares at it a bit afraid before taking a bite.
Zoro body would lock up- Like he had been hit with electricity. His eyes beginning to water and he grabbed the booze again to down if quickly- all of it very quickly.
"....That was awful-"
He manages to groan out as he rubbed his face.
Sanji
Will be head over heals for you, and when you offer to cook for him his whole body freezes- His eyes wide and practically screaming to not have this done-
"M-My Love! My Sweet! No need for that I can cook for us!" He insist sweat hitting his brow.
"No No, You cook for us every night! Let me do it!" You'd insist and go into his kitchen. It would quickly turn into a battle of if he loved food more then you- Once he sees you hold the knife wrong and damn near cut off a finger he steps in.
Shaking his head at this and taking the knife from you.
"Please dont- Love you um.. are cookingly challenged- I'm taking over"
Before he kicks you out of his kitchen.
Usopp
Usopp has actually pretty good taste in food, He enjoys food and has been heavily pampered by Sanji's cooking and food he be served when visiting Kaya.
So when you offer him food at first he's happy and talks about his experiences as a 'Chef' but when you bring down a half burned and half raw fish that still seemed to be twitching and some other odd trimmings that seemed to be stewed.
"Uhhh (Y/N)- you made this?"
He would question as he stared at the questionable plate.
"Yep!" Hearing your cheery voice he tries to sweet talk and lie his way around eating it at first. But once you insist he would nod and take a hefty bite. His face draining of all color as he chewed, forcing himself to swallow as he sits frozen.
"Usopp?-"
He ends up fainting-
Shanks
Shanks will try anything once, however he found out early on that you couldnt cook- While he never openly confronts you about it he does know damn well you shouldn't be near a kitchen.
Once you offer to cook for him he is jovial as normal and supportive. However when you bring out the bowl of- what looked like what a sea beast would vomit he started to sweat. Taking a big swig of his booze before taking a bite.
His whole body shivered in disgust and paled. Slowly trying to chew as he gave you a watery smile.
"It's alright It's Alright-"
Shanks said, his face turning purple as he tried to keep the food from coming back up as quickly as it came.
Mihawk
While it may be surprising but Mihawk is the pickiest of eaters- So when you say you made him a meal, He tries to hold himself back from making any comments before he's seen it.
'Maybe it's not that bad?...'
He thinks as he takes a seat at the dining room table. Waiting quietly as he hears you clattering in the kitchen- however he knew knew it would be unpleasant when the smell hits him. You step out cheery and happy as a massive bowl is set infront of him. His eyes widened at the sight- he had seen many horrible things in his life but nothing like this-
"Why is it that color?-" He would ask as you explained away that you didn't know the exact ingredients to make it so you improvised. Mihawk took a shaky breath and leaned down to give a sniff- once the fowl odor hit his nose he pushed the bowl back.
"(Y/N) Darling. You can't cook- I can't eat this... I love you dearly but whatever is in this bowl has been damned"

trust and hope
it's really odd what I'm going to tell you now but let's start
It's very clear how luffy trusts Zoro right?! because we have like thousand of moment of it but if I tell you that law is one of them who trust luffy most will you believe me ?!
let's start from whisky peak , do you remember the moment when some guy told luffy that Zoro was the reason why they were in this condition ? and what luffy did ? he fought with him
but in punk hazard when chopper told him that Law was murderer , he just ignored "Traffy " ?! nuh , but it wasn't some guy it was Chopper, his crewmate and what Luffy did ? nothing
don't get me wrong , maybe It can be assumed that the reason for Luffy's hesitation at Whiskey Peak was that, first of all, he had not known Zoro for a long time, in addition, you can say that the reason was also that these people shared food and Zoro thanked them in this way. It was the first and last time he suspected Zoro, you can't say that Luffy didn't know what Zoro was up to because of him. Let's go back a bit.
The case of Buggy, a seriously wounded man who is close to losing his mind doesn't hesitate for a second to hang onto Luffy's back with a cage, that should have been enough for Luffy, right? In addition, Luffy has animal instincts when it comes to people, but for some reason he blamed Zoro for his actions.
Let's continue with Law
Let's look at the situation from Law's side
A traumatized childhood, dead and murdered parents, a burned city, and the only person who trusted after this trauma was killed by Doflamingo, who was Corazon's brother.
so words "trust " and " hope " is not for law
And the only thing that motivated him during this time was revenge
revenge for the person he lost, Revenge for everything that happened
he spent 13 years preparing for his revenge and yes he was willing to do anything for this revenge, he ripped out the hearts of 100 pirates, became warlord, spent months on Punk Hazard, developed a plan, left the only people he trusted on Zou for their own safety, and yes he was really ready even to die
I hope you realize how important all this was to him right ?!
but what happened when it comes to luffy ?
Yes hope and Trust
And Doflamingo knew it clearly, maybe Luffy didn't realize how much it meant to law , but Doflamingo knew, it's not common for someone like Law to put that kind of trust in someone.
what about luffy ?
"Torao is a good guy " he was so happy wasn't he ?! just look at his face
Nami : noo luffy , we cant trust him
meanwhile luffy just ignored his crewmates words and "I'm in "
then Robin
luffy : " stop talking shits, he is a good guy " he just ignored everyone from his crew and when law switched their body luffy just laughed , he wasn't even mad , he just laughed. wtf luffy
let's make things clear straw hat
even it means go to hell together (please just look at him )
and yes now he was law's "bodyguard "
" just tell me which one Torao"
I won't talk about how he took care of Law all the way to Dressrosa, only Law? No, he didn't forget his sword either, just like law didn't forget Luffy's straw hat before
The funny thing is that even during the fight with Bellamy, Luffy's attention was on top, he didn't pay attention to his opponent, his whole concentration was on "how was Traffy?! "
Don't even dare, it all obvious in his face
And yes, he hasn't forgotten law's sword here either, his first order was "look after Law", he didn't ask anyone anything, just look after Law, protect him at any cost
if you ask me how their love language looks like I will say
"luffy : I'm glad you are okay , wanna eat? "
sharing his food
yes he shared his food with law
"law : let me die along with him I m begging you , please "
and at the end , I would like to mention the moment that makes these two people special to me along with everything else, first of all, the fact that Law was by Luffy's side when he needed it the most, when Luffy lost his brother the only member of his family( lets dont talk about Garp ) who had left, and lost his crew , his friends, was alone without his crew , and his life was in Law's hands. and yes, Law has seen Luffy at his worst, PTSD, despair, depression, and all together.
As for Law, this person who had no hope for anything in life and had no one but a crew, was left alone and everything he had been building and organizing for 13 years, all work, all hope, he left to Luffy. At this moment he was without his crew , and yes Luffy had seen him at his worst.
If that's not a sign of trust, hope and love, then I don't know what is

The most embarrassing series of posts about Lawlu you will ever read: edition post-Punk Hazard (part 4)
This one will definitely live up to it's title. The "love is a hurricane" tale continues~
Luffy again showing interest in what Torao is doing. This is already like third time he shows his unusual interest in him (and it will happen a couple more times in this post as well). He really wants to know more about him. Despite the fact he's usually sleeping through backstories of his own crewmates, like Nami. His unusual interest isn't because he doubts Law, we already know he deeply believes him to be a good person. No, this scene exists purely to show us how big and special interest Luffy has for Law. Luffy is also a bit concerned here, we saw the switch happen in Punk Hazard, from now on Luffy will also worry back for Law.
Someone's trolling Luffy here and it's not Usopp, lol. I wonder if this is how Law was as an older brother to Lammy, telling her fake tales just for amusement. He's a teasing older brother type, isn't he? And now all of that is directed towards Luffy. That's so sweet.
Luffy, you were supposed to tell them before, why are you telling them only now?! Take things a bit more seriously!
Law though is so displeased. Not only a hand was slammed into his arm (he secretly liked it despite everything), he was told to get along (he doesn't want to!), and Luffy disappointed him for not sharing about the alliance before.
But let's stop at the "get along" complaint for a bit. Luffy, you goofhead, you didn't introduce Law to your crew?? (and please, don't you know Luffy, ofc Luffy didn't do it "offscreen", this is Luffy we're talking about! He doesn't do introductions! At all!) Poor Law doesn't know their names! How is he supposed to get along with them?? You think Law would ask them about their names? Definitely not! Can you even imagine Law asking about anyone's name?? (yeah, I can't either lol) So to save up his face, he would have to utilize all that info he gathered beforehand (he already knew who they were all the way back at Sabaody after all!).
So he recognized Robin, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, Chopper (and so is able to call them by their names, tho it's worth noting Sanji being a special case and referred to by his title), but he didn't apparently know about Brook, Franky or Usopp (because they got called Bone-ya, Robo-ya and Nose-ya instead of their names+ya). Brook got recruited in Thriller Bark so there wasn't any wanted poster for him back then in Sabaody, so that's understandable. There was one for Franky already, but before timeskip Franky looked completely different so Law didn't recognize him. And...
wait for it...
He didn't recognize Sniperking as Usopp that's why he became "Nose-ya". Yes, the joke lives on! LOL.
Oh Luffy, you really don't make Law's life easier for him, do you? And this way Law got exposed that he did research a bit about the Strawhats before, enough to memorize them. (I mean not like Bartolomeo, but... but! It kinda looks a bit like that here, doesn't it).
Law will get back at Luffy in Zou for that, no worries. Now you will never see the "Law didn't introduce his crew" in any other light from now on, haha. It was a payback. Luffy didn't care tho lol.
You don't have to believe me on that one, but you can't really deny it does sound suspiciously consistent, doesn't it? :3
Law: Why is everyone telling me that?
Also Sanji, we appreciate it, but you're a little bit late with that warning there lol.
To be honest, I think Law is actually perfectly aware of that, but at the same time he wouldn't mind to be called a friend anyway. He only minds it now because he wants to keep his distance and not form any attachments on his way. And doing poor job at it too.
Luffy looks so happy sitting there next to Law, he looks like he's having the best time in his life. He's probably having a lot of ideas of what to do together with Law now that they're friends in alliance. (many of which would not be met with Law's enthusiasm probably lol).
Luffy: Did you just say dinner will happen 5 times a day from now on??
Luffy's level of excitement here is absolutely stunning. And one more thing very important to note: remember how Luffy usually acts when someone yaps a lot? He might for example ask Nami about something difficult, but quickly loses interest with the answer. He often sleeps through explanations. But here? Law's got his full attention! The one who is actually napping through this is Brook, not Luffy. Luffy thinks Torao is cool and he *wants* to listen to him.
Law, where are you looking? Clearly at your favourite Mugiwara-ya grinning over there. His eyes are always tracking Luffy.
A moment later Luffy turns to see Kin and Zoro fight. Do you all think he noticed Law staring at him right there? You two need to stop being so cute. I can't even believe Oda actually drew a scene like that in shonen, even if he didn't make it obvious. I mean, look at it, Luffy's eyes are shining, I bet their eyes met. I told you all that One Piece is a story about love. Omg I'm disgusted with how this scene tugs on my heart right now. To be fair, I'm not even the first person to notice that Law is staring at Luffy there, I saw people pointing it out before.
Luffy: Hey look Law, we're famous!!
Law: But ofc we are, what do you mean?
Luffy is again trying to get any sort of reaction out of Law directed just for him (did he feel encouraged after he noticed Law staring at him the day before?). Luffy, please, stop, this is getting more and more embarrassing to watch you craving for Law's attention like this.
Law though always gives him that attention, curiously enough. There's not even one frame of Luffy calling out to him and Law just ignoring him. Which shouldn't be surprising, Law always seeks out Luffy as well, rarely with words, but at least with his stares.
In this regard, they're a really good match. Luffy wants to be pampered, and Law wants to pamper. I would usually say it's gross, but it's actually really heartwarming. They both get something out of it that they were both craving.
Law: Hey, am I not providing you with enough entertainment? Forget those boring fellas!
Someone's a bit jelly...
And Brook is again watching over them. God, I swear, it feels like he just *knows*.
Again, Luffy listening to Law talking. He would listen to him no matter what Law is saying, wouldn't he? Luffy is known for his terribly short attention span, but for Law he is capable of unusual feats.
(Also notice Law is always grabbing Caesar by his clothes, never in direct contact)
Time for the ransom call. I know that everyone is screaming there, but Law is suspiciously quiet, this is when he should be firm and confident, but instead he's just standing there. I think it means he was actually pretty anxious about this call, kinda taken aback (and it's not because of people screaming around, he had enough time to get used to that with the Strawhats, also usually it doesn't actually faze him). Luffy on the other hand is excited and thinks this is all super fun lol.
And then Luffy goes and takes over the call. Of course we all think he did it just because he's Luffy and that Law is displeased/angry here, but let's do uno reverse. I might turn your worldview upside down from this point on.
What if Luffy actually sensed Law's anxiety and decided he will help him? Luffy is after all really good at reading people's emotions, right? And of course he would want to help his beloved Torao.
Law looks displeased, but that's because of a sudden closeness. Those of you that followed my series on Law's fear of touch and closeness know what I mean. He can stand Luffy when he's close to him, but not out of a blue like that - he needs to brace himself first. That's why his first instinct here is to try to move away. Sure enough, right in the next moment we see Luffy holding the transponder, which means Law lets him do that actually. If he truly was so displeased and angry, he would have reacted faster to take it back or shouted at him.
Luffy's fuming here for no reason whatsover, Doflamingo didn't actually say anything bad to him yet (or at all really). Sure, Luffy got mad over Caesar, but the conversation already changed to something else, and Luffy is still showing an attitude. He's doing it for Law, isn't he.
Law meanwhile is just standing there, still not attempting to take the transponder back. He's not even trying or talking at all. This really doesn't support the idea of "he's so mad at Luffy for doing this", it actually seems to be the exact opposite: he's kinda overwhelmed here and was ever since Doflamingo picked up his call. Ofc he's also more and more distressed now, bracing himself mentally, because he knows he needs to do something and can't leave it all up to Luffy.
Law realized he needs to stop it, because Doflamingo is trying to bait Luffy, and everyone knows Luffy is weak to baits. In a way, stepping up just to prevent Luffy from getting into dangerous scenario, helped him overcome his own helplessness and anxiety. Luffy meanwhile indeed is losing it lol.
Let's look more closely to Law and Doflamingo's conversation here. Law is trying to make the talk very short, down to business and finish it off quickly. Doffy though stays confident and even tries to mock Law a little bit. It's almost like he's saying "Law, kid, you forgot to show me that my subordinate is fine, you need to step up your kidnapping game a little", he's kinda having this patronizing vibe here. "First step of a ransom call, remember? I taught you that myself".
Putting it all together can explain why Law is so anxious, he expected to hear Doflamingo all devastated, angry even after giving up warlord's title, instead Doflamingo is relaxed, mocking and confident, generally acting like he has the upper hand here. Law is worried, did he miss something, because this is not how it should look like, and he is right. Also he can't stand Doflamingo's confident tone, it's most likely making him feel weak, remembering the past. In their fight in Dressrosa Law will try his best to overcome this feeling by mocking Doflamingo back, but right here he was surprised and unprepared. He probably felt again like a kid, still part of Doflamingo's family, and Doffy's mocking tone like a mentor/parental figure scolding his clumsy subordinate truly added salt to the wound.
Law grits his teeth and continues, attempting to finish the call as soon as possible, full of bad feelings. And this is when Luffy snaps back to reality, gasping and reminding himself "I need to help Torao!" and so he does, by doing actually the best thing possible: cutting off the call.
This seems not-canon to you I bet, but I truly think Luffy tried to actually support Law here and it DID work in the end.
Of course Strawhats don't catch up to it and think Luffy just straightup ruined everything, but look at Law's reaction here. He's suddenly calm and does not blame Luffy for anything, in fact, he goes as far as to declare this is all fine. Would he really say something like that if he was truly angry? No, of course not, we have seen him angry everytime he truly believes his plan was just kicked out of the window by a Strawhat Luffy. This is simply not the case here.
Law is still looking pretty anxious there, probably thinking over multiple scenarios in his head. What did he miss? Why is Doflamingo so confident? This is crucial, after all it's not only about his own safety, but safety of Luffy and his crew.
Luffy meanwhile shows his interest in Law again, wanting to know about Law's adventures. He's probably trying to make Law think of something else instead of overworrying, put his mind off of it. Luffy really sticks with his resolve here of taking care of Law as well.
Also it's ultimately cute how Law is mechanically correcting Luffy on the name of the island (helpfully pointing out only the part he got wrong so it's a shorter word to remember for Luffy, awww), but he does it without even an exclamation mark there. He's not angry or irritated about it. In fact, it just shows he understands Luffy has problem with long and complicated words. He probably knows that's the reason he became "Torao" as well. He gets it, he accepts it, in fact he has no problem with it whatsoever.
Even when distressed and lost in his thoughts Law makes sure to still respond to Luffy when he asks something from him, and Luffy this time uses it to bring him out of his thoughts instead of just seeking attention.
Luffy: Yay, so if Torao has never before been to that island, it means we will have an adventure together! And not just one, there's no way I will let you leave me right afterwards. We're so gonna do more adventures! Dressrosa and Wano! Two adventures with Torao!
Law: This isn't an adventure, be serious!! Our lives are on the line!!
Luffy: Breakfast time!
Law: Breakfast time! *gasp* fuck!
Someone got caught up in someone else's pace. 1:0 for Luffy, he did manage to make Trafalgar Law take a break from his worrying.
Now to understand Law's exaggerated reaction here as something more than just a comedy moment we need to first elaborate a bit on the chapter's title that sets the tone between Doflamingo-Luffy-Law interactions and honestly spans through the whole of Dressrosa arc. This is chapter 700 titled "his pace", the next round chapter is 800 which wraps up Dressrosa. Chapters with round numbers tend to have a huge impact on the whole storyline happening (because Oda really loves his number games).
"Pace" from the title means someone dictating how fast the events are going or swaying things to move in their preferred fashion. Doflamingo does it in this snail talk by playing confident and trying to bait Luffy and undermine Law's confidence. Later he also showers his subordinates with compliments so they will do what he asks them to do - that's also setting pace by keeping everyone in line.
Law's pace in this chapter (and in whole of post-punk hazard transition) was him spiraling the things to move where he wants them, his first snail talk with Doffy was just Law having an overwhelming victory over him. Then through the span of one night things move very fast exactly towards the result Law wanted (Doflamingo resigning from warlord's position). Law usually doesn't use his power of controlling pace to make people do what he wants (unlike Doffy), that's not his style, they're just forced to stick for the ride, but he always leaves liberty in their own hands. For example, when he told Luffy to kidnap Caesar or assemble back Kinemon, he didn't tell them exactly step by step how they should do it: instead he left it to their judgement. In other words, he tells them what to do but not *how* to do stuff, he instead trusts in their ability to figure it out on their own.
And then we have Luffy, who selfishly chooses islands they visit and what enemies they're fighting, so he's also "setting the pace" for others. He controls it to a minimum as well like Law, he just makes sure to take care of the biggest danger himself and trusts the others to do whatever they want, he gives them freedom. His crew do their best out of their own free will to deserve Luffy's trust, every chess piece on the board moves according to what they believe is right, so Luffy's board isn't actually a game of one vs one, but instead of one versus many, because every player has as much liberty as Luffy has.
In this chapter Law lost to Doflamingo's pace, but restored himself, and lost to Luffy's pace and this time declared defeat. Doflamingo won against Law, almost won against Luffy, but then Luffy defeated him in one neat swipe. And why? Because Luffy actually wasn't playing alone, Law and Luffy supported each other there. So in the end Doflamingo lost to both of them.
You think Law didn't take a defeat against Luffy here? Then let's rewind back:
Remember this scene? Law was amused that Smoker would even think that Law can overpace Luffy (after all Luffy punched Caesar instead of kidnapping him and did a feast instead of leaving immediately), but he wasn't going to always allow Luffy to do that. Here he declares he's gonna set the pace and make Luffy follow his plan. He does it because it's neccessary or he won't be able to protect him, but also because of his petty pride or "saving up face", if you prefer that term here. He's not gonna just sit there and let Luffy do everything he wants and wait for him to finish off enemies. Law is throwing a challenge, he's gonna compete with Luffy in that regard.
But before they even reach Dressrosa Law already declares his defeat. Let me show you how: remember how he always loses his hat when he's losing?
Like here. Or in Dressrosa, or Winner Island.
Wait, where's his hat here? And this is the next frame after Law's big comical "gasp" moment, when he got dragged into Luffy's pace of "enough worrying, time for breakfast!". Yep, he knew he lost there, allowed himself to loosen up and took off his hat by himself as a sign of his defeat and Luffy's victory. But that's also because he's just a good mannered boy who knows you don't eat with your hat on.
It truly is a 1:0 for Luffy and Law is actually okay with that (losing to Luffy's pace is actually not a negative experience, because Luffy doesn't manipulate people with evil agenda in mind, like Doflamingo. He did it only because he wants Law to relax). And this sets up how the events went on in Dressrosa.
Also can I just point out that all it took for Luffy to sway him was to declare with a smile "Yay adventure with Law! Can't wait! And now breakfast!" and Law was already dragged into his pace? I mean... Law, Luffy didn't even do anything special. He was just basically himself there. Law's so smitten with him that it's all it took, honestly. Of course the support he got on that call from him also counted into that, but Law didn't declare defeat then yet, after all he also supported Luffy back in that call.
In later arcs Law will still attempt to be petty about this ongoing "competition", not wanting to leave it all up to Luffy, lol. He migth have lost once, but the war is ongoing! He's such a petty loser, I adore that flaw in him.
Luffy butting-in, making sure Kinemon doesn't just steal Law away for the Wano adventure. Hey, I'm gonna be part of that adventure as well!
Law's attempt to stop him there is really miserable. He can't bring himself up to deny Luffy when he sounds so happy, huh. My heart can't take it.
Law's already back to worrying again haha. His neverending journey of worrying when together with Luffy continues! Let it never end honestly.
He's also conflicted, because everytime Luffy acts so excited he thinks back to Lammy, as she was the exactly same energetic type of a person as Luffy haha.
i don't think Luffy gets it that this time around he's only making Law worry more and not less, awww.
That's all for now. Dressrosa will come up next (I might take a break from this series to answer some asks first :D). I hope you enjoyed seeing this chapter through different lens, it's fine if you still prefer it as just a comedy moment of Luffy acting like a complete menace and Law regretting his life choices. I think it's neat that the manga supports actually both interpretations, one on more casual level and the other more in-depth.
There is something I want to share about World Seeker Law's dlc, it's not really a spoiler, just one line that Law says that relates to the previous part of this series of posts (if you want to skip it then just don't read from now on! There's nothing more to this post afterwards).
This is what Law says in the game. I know that games are not considered 100% canon, but Oda DID work on both World Seeker and Odyssey, and honestly many lines and overall feeling of the game goes along with the canon. Law's complicated relation to closeness is definitely a part of this DLC, for example.
And here he says he doesn't mind what people actually call him! He never complained about "Torao" when Luffy called him this way, not even once. But he does make this one sour face when Nami does that as well. Makes one really think why is this such a special case for him, doesn't it? :D Again, he wants it to be a special name only from Luffy, doesn't he.
#one piece#trafalgar law#lawlu#luffy#lulaw#luffy x law#love is a hurricane#one piece meta#I adore your tags cooknumber3 <3#lawlu is also my fav brand of chaotic and stupid and also heartwarming#despite Law's attempts to keep it cold#at least I have something to dig thanks to him and it's not easy to figure out what's under his facade#I hope to deliver even more delights :D#also you made me want to make it all into a video just so I can add a sappy romantic track when they meet up in PH#everytime I type PH I think of Pyramid Head not Punk Hazard lol#Law would be the perfect protagonist for a horror game actually#anyway I still don't think it's a romantic love but it's embarrassing af geez

Monkey D. Luffy - Captain.
Warning : none
Genre : fluff
Synopsis : "THE SCENE WHERE BUGGY IS TELLING HIM EVERYONE ABANDONED HIM?? my request is very obvious and i'm not that original buuuut his boyfriend saves him? 😃😃 but like i was thinking of him and his boyfriend just talking a bit on the ship and a fluff kind of moment, luffy just thinking a bit which is weird and his swordsman boyfriend just reassures him a bit yk? "no matter what happens or how many people leave, you're a great pirate. and as long as i'm here you'll always have a crew." and a lil kiss. probs nami and zoro on the back like "awwww?¿"" - @vainillacookie
Reader : male (he/you)
Luffy felt a bit down after his fight against Buggy. On their small boat, he couldn't stop thinking back to Shanks.
Buggy was wrong, Shanks didn't betray Luffy. Even if he left, Luffy wasn't mad at him for doing so. He had never been mad, just sad, knowing he would miss him.
He thought back of that day. The day he lost his arm. The day he left. His cursed goodbye gift. The day Shanks gave him another purpose.
To give him back his hat when he's strong enough.
Luffy doesn't do regrets.
But this one is tough to move on from. What if the same happens to his crew ?
You and Zoro have agreed to follow him. But he can't say the same for Nami. What if it's only a crew of three, without a navigator ?
What if you get badly hurt trying to protect him ? What if Zoro dies trying to accomplish his dream ?
Luffy can't stop but wonder.
Is he going to be a good captain ? After all, it's his first ever crew. He didn't want to lead you to your doom for the sake of his dream.
What if you and Zoro had made a mistake ? What if you were following the wrong person ?
Luffy was sitting on the small boat, thinking silently. For once he wasn't climbing and doing aerobatics everywhere. Which alarmed all of you.
"You should talk to him." Said Nami, turning to Zoro. "You're his first mate."
"I vote [Name]. He's his boyfriend." He responded.
They looked at you, expecting an answer, but you weren't listening, too focused on Luffy, silently trying to read his mind.
You suddenly stood up and sat next to him, under the watchful eyes of Zoro and Nami.
"What's on your mind, captain ?" You asked, patting his head.
He placed his hand on his hat, his fingers touching yours for a brief moment.
"I'm just thinking…"
"Mh."
"What if I wasn't made to lead a crew ?"
You stared at him, your hand pushing his hat behind his head so you could caress his hair.
"You're thinking about what Buggy said about Shanks ?"
"Yeah. He lost his arm because of me, y'know."
You hummed, nodding as your fingers dug into his scalp.
"I know. But I also know Buggy is wrong. Your crew won't leave you, Luffy."
Luffy looked at you, his soft eyes boring into yours.
"You're special. And I know you won't stand in the way of our dreams. You'll always support us no matter what and do what's necessary to help us. Even if it means putting your dream on hold. I know you'll fight for us. Even when we don't want you to. You'll do everything so we keep fighting for our dream, no matter what happens."
He blinked, still looking your way, listening intently to your words.
"You'll be a great captain. And you already are, I have no doubts. Even if it's your first week as a pirate. I'm sure Shanks would be proud of your accomplishments, and those to come."
A smile appeared on his face, a bit shy at first then more confident.
"You think so ?"
"No. I know."
He grinned, leaning slightly against your hand still in his hair and he quickly kissed your cheek.
"Thank you, [Name]."
"You're welcome, captain." You said, pecking his lips.
In the back Zoro and Nami smiled, happy to see Luffy was fine again.
"You'll always have me. And if we have to find the one piece with just the two of us, then so be it." You added, smiling as big as him. "But I agree, the more the merrier."
Luffy laughed, putting back his hat on his head and kissing your lips.
"Yeah."

date gone wrong ; asl
↻ fluff, chaotic brothers, law kinda ooc, sabo being overprotective, ace being extra, luffy is emotionally intelligent, modern au, grammatical errors
↻ pairing ↬ asl x (platonic) fem!reader! x law
anonymous asked: Hello!! I'd like to ask if I could ask you for a modern!au where the reader as Asl's little sister dating Law (I'm sorry, I just really love this emo doctor hehe) and spends time with him and they follow them to watch their date! if you don't like it, please just ignore it). thank you in advance!!
a/n i really love all these asl requests 😭
the sun was high in the sky. it was the perfect day for a date with your beloved boyfriend. you gave yourself a quick touch up before leaving the house with a huge grin on your face. as usual, he looks at you with the same blank expression.
if it wasn’t for the light pink that tinted his cheeks, you would’ve thought he doesn’t actually love you. “ace, sabo, luffy! i’m going out!” you notified them before closing the door.
“sabo,” ace spoke in a serious tone, giving sabo the ‘look’. the blond nodded as a response while luffy looked at the two of them in confusion. “huh? am i missing something?” he tilted his head.
.
law had been such a gentleman throughout your date. although he doesn’t show it, you knew that he was enjoying the date too. unknown to you though…
ace, sabo and luffy sat in the coffee shop across the ones that you were in. sabo acted naturally, ordering a drink for him while enjoying it as if he wasn’t stalking his sister’s date. “luffy, what do you know about him?” sabo asked in a quiet tone.
even though the two of you had been dating for a few years now, you had only made known about your relationship to your brothers a few months ago.
“tra-guy is really smart. he helped me with math but he always calls me stupid,” luffy laughed.
sabo’s gaze only hardened. “smart, huh… but not smart enough to stay away from our sister,” he frowned, crossing his arms together as his eyes met with ace. “should we keep moving?” ace asked in a secrecy tone. sabo nodded.
.
the two of you moved to your next dating spot. law had promised you last week that he would be the one to do the planning for your date this week.
so when he asked to for you to close your eyes, you were a bit skeptical. he had never done this before throughout the few years the two of you had been dating.
you felt his hand intertwining with yours, enveloping your hand in that familar comforting warmth. “where are you taking me?” you asked quietly. “it won’t be a surprise if i tell you,” law mumbled under his breath.
the trio looks at the two of you suspiciously. “where is he taking her?” ace asked, his eyes slowly filled with panic. “oh, i bet he’s going to propose!” luffy said in a quiet excited tone. the two brothers snapped their head towards luffy. “what?”
“isn’t it obvious?” luffy tilted his head at his brothers. “he looks nervous,” the younger male pointed out.
.
“you can open your eyes now,”
slowly, you opened your eyes before adjusting to the lights around you. he had taken you to the park where the two of you first met. “is this a special occasion? why did you take me here?” you asked, smiling softly at him.
“i just, feel like it,” he cleared his throat, looking away from you. before you know it, your three brothers suddenly jumped into the open, standing right in front of you. luffy has a big smile painted on his face, ace's expression was as if he was about to cry while sabo...
well, he looked quite angry.
“what are you guys doing here?!” you scolded. “he’s going to take you from us!” ace argued. you looked at them in confusion. “what are you talking about?”
“he’s going to propose to you,” luffy chimed in, his smile stretching even wider. your eyes widened and you quickly looked at law. “i... wasn’t,” the male said in confusion. “then why did you look so nervous?” luffy frowned, now even more confused by law's confession.
“i was... going to ask her to move in with me,” before you could answer to that, sabo had already raced you to it. “no, you’re not going to take her away from us,” he crossed his arms together, looking at law up and down skeptically. “oh, i thought that you were going to be my brother,” luffy frowned. you could hear ace’s sigh of relief beside you.
you put your hand on sabo's arm in hopes to calm him down slightly. “sabo...” you gave him a pointed look. “i’m a grown adult! how long are you going to see me as your baby sister?” you sighed. “i can make my own decision,” you crossed your arms.
“fine,” the blond male sighed, looking away from you with a pout present on his face. you shook your head lightly, chuckling at his childish behavior. you knew that he only worry about you. a little bit too much.
but you still love all your brothers the same.

Straw Hat girlies headcanons! (Sanji included cuz transfem bigender Sanji lives rent free in my head. Also Bonney cuz why not; And Vivi is on the straw hats I don't care)
TW: mention of sexual abuse and other kinds of abuse, and also the trauma that comes with it
Nami
Autistic, but developed the habit of masking. Has been learning to undo it around her crew. Special interest? Maps, maps, maps. Tangerines are comfort food. She also has hypersensitivity to clothes, so she picks them very carefully. Her meltdowns are often, they come when she is emotionally overloaded, and she usually needs to stay alone to calm down.
After her meltdown in Arlong Park, her arm got paralyzed due to nerve damage. Now, she uses a sling to keep it always in place and not get hurt. Her tatoo covers a little, but not all her stabbing scars.
She has PTSD due to Bellemere's death, her enslavery and also due to being a survivor of SA. Has been doing therapy sessions with Chopper (he is learning about human psychology in order to help the crew) to help cope with it and receives help and support from the rest of the crew.
VERY pale, but due to spending so much time in the sea and under the sun, she ends up having many, many freckles through all of her body. Usually keeps wavy hair in ponytail due to it being really long.
Lesbian, loves girlies. Dating Vivi ever since they set foot in Alabasta. Clings to her so much it looks like they can't be separated. Also, Vivi was her lesbian awakening in the way of "wait, I think I like girls romantically???? And they are also hot????"
When she first entered the crew, she was underweight, almost malnourished, due to never having enough food and saving almost all money to save her village. However, after Arlong Park, she started gaining weight with the help of Sanji and Chopper. Now, she is fat, healthy and happy.
Loves orange, but also blue (no, it's not to match Vivi, shut the fuck up Usopp)
Swears and yells a lot. Has low voice tone control, actually.
Sometimes, when she is sad, she speaks to her tangerines as if Bellemere was there, as it feels comforting.
Ever since she received news that Cocoyashi Village got a Den Den Mushi, she calls them everyweek to tell Nojiko and Genzo about hers and the strawhat's adventures.
Besties with Usopp and Zoro, they talk shit about everyone. Gossip friends with Robin. Is one of the few people that can make Luffy not destroy an entire fucking island. Jinbei's second daughter (first is Koala).
Loves Beyoncé, rap and brazillian funk (Luffy introduced her to it) (yeah, I know this is a more modern-au like one, but let me have my headcanons ok).
Due to high sensitivity to clothes, she usually wears beach-like clothing cause they are light and let most of her skin exposed, so she can feel better the weather.
Terrified of bugs AND bats. Almost fainted when she first heard about vampires and now is fucking terrified of the possibility.
Likes drawing, not only maps, but her crewmates too. She is really good at it, however, she won't show it to anyone, just Nojiko (she's embarassed).
Only wears makeup and/or does different hairtyles in special occasions, as she finds it to be very inconvenient when they are on the sea.
Watching and hearing the sea is a nice visual stim. It helps her to calm down from the crazy thing that is day-to-day life with the straw hats.
She may say shit about her friends sometimes, but will absolutely kill you if you say anything bad about them.
Sanji
Autistic, special interest is fishes and the All Blue. Cooking is so stimmy hmmmm. Does not realize when she is being way too much on others. Even though he doesn't seem like, is very picking about food, can't handle anything made in a shit way. Has shutdowns instead of meltdowns as trauma response, and needs to stay around the crew these times.
Has PTSD due to constant abuse in childhood and from being stuck on the rock-island with Zeff (and also due to Zeff eating his leg). Due to never telling about it to anyone, he tried to hide it from the crew because of self-loathing, but after Whole Cake Island, the moments of crisis and panic attacks were so frequent it turned impossible. He is now working on it with Chopper, just like the rest of the crew.
Tall, with very strong legs with many scars on them. Has leg and facial hair, but, after Momoiro Island, she let her wavy hair grow and now keeps it in a bun, still with the part in front of the eye, of course.
Egg cracked with Ivankov, about both gender AND sexuality. Bi queen. Even though he didn't want to pass through surgeon (aka Ivankov's fruit) he still got a lot of help from the newkama. Also learned he loves drag and will do it sometimes for the crew.
Learned ballet as a kid from Reiju and his mom. Even though he always practiced it in secret, it came out once she started to do drag (on her shows, she uses ballet steps a lot).
Fave colors are yellow and blue, it feels soft.
Swears a lot. Zeff did swear a lot back on Baratie, after all.
Calls Zeff monthly to tell how things are going. Sometimes, after this, she cries a little.
Started dating Zoro shortly before timeskip and was afraid of how he'd react to the whole trans thing, but he couldn't care less. She cried over a week because of this.
Loves woman with all of her heart, specially her crew's ones. Not in a more sexual like way, but in a whole-heartdly way. Besties with Usopp, surprisingly VERY friends with Brook.
Listens to classical and french music, but sometimes likes some rock and roll.
Has three types of clothes: suits, dresses and a suit with a short and skirt. No matter the look, is always with ballet shoes.
Fucking scared of bugs. And pigeons. Don't ask, ok?
Sings very well, but doesn't like to show it. Only does it on the bathroom, but everybody ends up listening. They don't comment cause the single time they did they thought Sanji was having a heart attack.
Adores make-up and diverse hairtyling, finds it to be really cute.
Usually rocking back and forth on her feet, it feels nice.
Once kicked a guy to uncosciousness when he touched her butt.
Vivi
Autistic, has those big bug autism eyes, even though she masks well she cannot function daily without help, Karoo is her therapy animal, special interest in bugs (shares it with Luffy), has meltdowns whenever she knows she is completely alone and helpless.
Developed some level of paranoia after being infiltrated in Baroque Works, and sometimes has frenzys in which she thinks she is back there and that Alabasta is still in danger. It diminuted drastically after Chopper developed a medicine for her, but it still happens sometimes. Those moments, she can turn aggressive and needs to stay only with Karoo so she can calm down.
Has brown skin and some tatoos typical from the Nefertari family. She is short and skinny, and the secret nobody can absolutely know is that she dyes her (curly) hair blue (it's her favorite color and her mom used to do the same, so, she dyes it. Nobody other than Nami can know though).
Lesbian, her first crush was Miss All Sunday (it didn't last much, but o boi, how many nights she spent thinking about how ABSOLUTELY WRONG having a crush on your enemy is). Had an immediate crush in Nami, but couldn't say it cuz of the whole Miss Wednesday thing. They kissed after they left Drum Island and started dating at Alabasta.
Deals with the guilt of being with the strawhats instead of Alabasta very often, and likes having hugs so it can go away.
Favourite color is blue, but not all blue, just sky-blue.
Never swears, feels a little embarassed whenever someone does.
Resolves troubles from Alabasta through Den Den Mushi, that way she doesn't get that much worried. Also keeps in contact with her dad, Pell and Igaram.
Even though they had a complicated relationship at the start, Robin and her ended up being very friends, they love parallel playing (honestly, who doesn't?). Also very close to Luffy and Yamato, the one that keeps a leash on the two of them, relates a lot to Zoro in that aspect.
Loves bubblegum pop, an absolute Swiftie. Sometimes also compelled to Aurora and Halsey.
Whenever they go to an island, she likes keeping her formal clothes (after all, she is the crew's diplomat!). In fights, she uses more simple clothes and a mask to keep her identity hidden. In the ship, however, you'll always find her in pajamas (no, she is not always sleeping, Zoro does that very well for the whole crew).
Is scared of the sea, even though she can swim, nobody knows why.
Likes dancing and presenting to the crew, but the crew only. If some outsider is there, she won't dance at all. Likes helping Sanji with the choreography of her drag shows.
Likes makeup, but hates stylizing her hair. She is absolutely terrible at it, so she just keeps it in a ponytail during fights and that's it, that's the best you can get from her.
Likes playing and fidgeting with small things like coins, buttons, rubik cubes, pebbles and stuff like that. Usually has something in her hand.
Feels bad for being one the weakest crew members, but is always cheered up by the rest. After all, she doesn't need to fight to be nakama, even though she can kick some asses.
Robin
Autistic. Weirdgirl, big autistic stare, says every single creepy fact she knows in not very good situations, no social cues get to her head, never masks, almost always same expression and tone, special interest in history, does not know how to function normally, has auditory and light hypersensitivity, meltdowns caused by way too much light, sound and visual information.
Has PTSD due to the destruction of Ohara, living her childhood, teenagehood and adult years as a runaway and being constantly betrayed and abandoned. She sometimes has moments of profound anxiety in which she asks herself if she is gonna lose her family. Chopper helps her a lot with it, and, when she has those crisis, she gets a hug from everyone anytime she asks for it.
Very tall, with a few specific parts of her body being thicker than the rest. Her skin is dark, with many scars through all of it, and she has blue eyes and long (but not as long as Nami's or Yamato's), straight black hair.
Trans woman, found out during early childhood, and bisexual queen. Even though she was never in a relationship before entering the crew, she was with a few people before. Franky is the first guy she is with, and also the first person she dates. It's a bit scary for both, but feels also really, really good.
She was underweight most of her life due to the inconstancy of her nutrition and life situation, but in Baroque Works she had lots of food. She thought a pirate crew wouldn't care about their nutrition or food, but it was opposite. Even though she does not gain weight easily, her sillouette, that was VERY slim before, became thicker in a few points. Not much, she still is thin, but it's less ill-looking.
Favorite color is purple, black and dark blue. Goth girl Robin is real.
Does not swear, but says such weird, creepy and worrying stuff it makes everyone wish she did. It would be less scary.
Loves organizing stuff, for some reason. If you leave her alone in a messy room, in a short time it will be very nice-looking and clean. She has fun with it!
After some initial tension, she started taking care of Vivi like a big sister. Was called "mom" by Chopper once and almost had a heart attack. Enjoys parallel playing with Zoro and Law, scaring Usopp and playfully flirting with Jinbei (Franky loves this, it makes them laugh how embarassed it makes Jinbei look).
Likes goth and punk music, it feels very nice to her. Also loves horror-like classical music, it helps her to sleep (weirgirl Robin weirdgirl Robin weirdgirl Robin-).
Even though she appreciates goth fashion, it's not really for her. She prefers long, purple jackets to her elbow over dark flower-pattern dresses, dark boots and her cowboy hat with sunglasses (they help her with light sensitivity and it also looks really cool).
Absolutely HATES to be around statues. They just get a nerve on her. It feels awful, she wants to break them in half so they stop looking at her.
Likes sending messages to the crew in the vitorian flower language. Nobody gets it, but they try. She keeps infodumping about it, so they can get at least a few things.
Doesn't like makeup very much, but simple hairtyling is nice. She will experiment on it, but only in particular.
Makes many vocal stims. They variate from humming to speaking random syllabes to screaming out loud. The crew has gotten used to it. Stimming with her akuma no mi also feels very nice.
Has broken more necks than you would think. Is also nicer than you would think.
Bonney
Autistic. Very loud, has no control over her tone, emotionally extreme, no social abilities, pizza is her comfort food, has hyposensitivity to sounds and lights, sarcasm queen but doesn't get other's sarcasm or lies, has meltdowns because of people fighting that involve a lot of self harm.
Has night terror with her dad being chained and his death. She needs to go to Luffy so she can hug him and feel better. Also has hyperactivity and needs medicines from Chopper so she can sleep and focus on stuff.
Small for her age, has white skin that is also tan due to the sun, likes putting piercings through her body (Chopper is scandalized), has brown eyes and hair, which she dyes pink cuz she knows her mom did as well.
Transfem demigirl, came out when she was 7 and told her dad "I wanna be a girl" "alright" and that was it. Didn't know what was a period until Chopper explained, and then got reliefed she didn't get that shit.
Eats A LOT, but runs so much throughout all of the ship all the day through it basically doesn't affect her body in a noticeable way. Shares this fact with Luffy.
Favorite color is pink, all of them. Does not matter the tones, if it's pink, she loves it.
Learned to swear on her time as a pirate. Does it on a daily basis.
Always speaks to her dad when she feels alone. It makes her feel better, to think he is accompanying her journey with the straw hats.
Likes smelling stuff. Sometimes looks like a dog while doing it. She just can feel the vibes of the person through their smell. She warns the crew whenever she smells evil. She is never wrong.
Calls everyone her big siblings. Luffy's apprentice, spends much time with him, specially when they are eating. Is spoiled rotten by Sanji, he loves when she asks for food. Loves being carried by Zoro, Yamato, Brook, Franky and Jinbei. Never gets tired of hearing Usopp's stories. Besties with Chopper.
Loves pop and rock, always sings along while screaming.
Always wearing clothes way too big for her size cuz of her akuma no mi, likes wearing bubblegum-pop and tiktok like clothes.
Scared of labs and doctors. Had to be convinced throughout an entire week to do her first check-up on Chopper. She is now ok around him, but other doctors are terrifying (she keeps trying to find out where Law hides the bodies he obviously kills. He is called death surgeon, come on).
Likes hearing Robin read books for her and Chopper. It's nice and recalls her home, plus Robin's voice is really sweet.
Loves experimenting on makeup, specially with help of the girls, but hair is too complicated. When she is not with her hat, she keeps the hair in a bandana and that's it. Plus it's always messy and she has a hard time combing it.
Stims by running. A LOT. And jumping. Whenever she thinks something interesting, she goes through the entire ship, down and up, until she falls on the sea and someone has to get her.
Can kick ass, but is still a child, so the crew kind of... overprotects her a little. Basically, if she gets hurt in battle, prepare to die. Very painfully.

you’ve talked about the different ways opla and the anime/manga handle zolu so I feel like this must be asked at some point and it might as well be now. which do you prefer?
..................................feeling like the cat surrounded by knives rn
opla is the reason i'm even here atm in the one piece fandom, and it was my first exposure to zoro n luffy so it is very special to me (the way zoro looked at luffy & said he had somewhere to be now that he knew luffy, the jealousy, the touching, luffy not eating/cleaning zoro's swords because he was so worried about him, the declarations "I need you" "you are my captain and I am your first mate" & it kind of makes me insane bc the writers looked at zoro and luffy from the manga/anime and condensed them into that!!!!) and i love mackenyu BUT when it comes down to it.......... I prefer anime/manga zoro! what can I say!!! I am not immune to a silly guy!!!!!!!!! and that reflects in my preference of which version of the ship I would have to choose. I like that zoro was immediately devoted to luffy after calling him the son of the devil, that luffy broke into the marine base to meet the demon pirate hunter, that they're both so in tune with each other. a pair of crazy bastards on their way to raise hell. that they don't quite understand, at least not at first, the depth of their feelings, or the fact that their relationship is just a hint different. zoro would die for luffy, is so whipped that .00001 seconds of luffy's puppy eyes is enough to convince him to do something, feels pangs of jealousy but can’t pinpoint why, is not scared in the face of death but feels true fear in the face of luffy's......and is still like hmmm. interesting. let me take a nap instead of continuing this train of thought. obviously there’s more content for animanga (and tho I’ve read spoilers a lot I haven’t seen), but even just east blue luffy n zoro are soooo in synch and unhinged…..anyways
#zolu#asks#longpost#I must keep thinking on this I’m afraid#one piece#opla#roronoa zoro#monkey d luffy

ive seen you talk about usopp's dream a lot, and i agree with a lot of your points (basically all of them lol) except for one: the part where you say he's already achieved his goal and simply needs to realize it.
ive always seen usopp's goal as being similar to zoro's, in the aspect that neither of them will be satisfied until they themselves can determine that they've achieved their dreams.
for zoro, he'll be able to say that he's achieved his dream once he, as stated before, has beaten mihawk in a fight (and also helps luffy become king of the pirates, if i've read it correctly).
and for usopp, despite it being a lot more vague, he also has a self-determined goal like zoro. "become a brave warrior of the sea". i personally don't think its simply a matter of him realizing he's already one, but another matter of him only being satisfied once he thinks he's done enough to warrant the title- just like zoro will only be satisfied once he thinks he's done enough to warrant the title of "greatest swordsman in the world".
ah, but these things are pretty up to interpretation, right? i'm not here to say you're wrong or something, hopefully it doesn't come across that way! i just think it's interesting how similar usopp and zoro's dreams are, i wanted to share. :]
Hi! I really like the connections you’ve made here between Zoro and Usopp’s dreams, and I do agree they share a lot of similarities. I think they’re the only two besides Luffy whose dream is to achieve a specific title (king of the pirates, world’s greatest swordsman, brave warrior of the sea). Unlike Luffy, however, Zoro and Usopp’s dreams don’t have a commonly agreed upon path to reaching that title (for Luffy, it’s finding the one piece). You’re totally correct in that both Zoro and Usopp have defined their own terms of when that title as finally been achieved, and they’re the only ones who can basically say that the dream has been achieved.
However, I think there is a very specific difference here, and it’s one that led me to say that Usopp has already achieved his goal while Zoro has not. And this difference is this: Zoro has already defined the specific action he needs to do in order to achieve his dream, while Usopp has not. Therefore, we can see that Zoro has not achieved his dream yet by his own terms, while Usopp, as his terms are yet undefined, may be able to claim that his dream is completed.
Zoro has made it clear from the start how he intends to claim that he is the best swordsman in the world, and that is to defeat the current best. He has indicated that the current best is Mihawk, therefore, he wants to beat him in combat in order to achieve his dream. He’s expressed that specific goal, even promising Luffy that he would engage in this specific duel in order to get to the title. It’s completely self inflicted: he could potentially already claim that he’s the best swordsman in three sword style, for example. But for Zoro it doesn’t work that way because he won’t think he’s achieved his dream until he completes the specific action he wanted (like you said in your ask).
Usopp, on the other hand, has very much not done that. We don’t have a specific action that he needs to complete in order to achieve that title, and as far as I know he hadn’t indicated anything specific that will demonstrate that he’s finally achieved his dream. So in my opinion, as he hasn’t expressed what exactly will make the goal completed, we can claim that it’s already been reached. At the end of the day, like you said, he’s the only one that can declare he’s achieved this title, but I think if he stepped back and took stock of what he’s done up to this point, he may be able to declare it achieved based on all the brave things he’s already done.
I think another element of this is that Usopp is a special case because of his insecurities. Part of the journey that he takes emotionally through the series is confronting his self hatred and realizing that he is enough as himself, that he is already a warrior and can accept himself as he is. In my opinion, realizing that he’s been the brave warrior he wanted to be all along would complete this journey and allow him to overcome those insecurities. Zoro doesn’t have the same emotional journey here to go through, and therefore doesn’t need to have that specific realization.
This is a really interesting conversation, thanks for prompting this train of thought!

You are deep in the paint about One Piece and me and my datemate watched OPLA recently so I will tell you this thing I said while we were talking about Shanks.
He said something to the effect of Shanks is CRAZY STRONG, perhaps one of the strongest, and has some special ability that allows him to tell anyone weaker than him to GTFO, so it's a fucking mystery why he lost his arm when by all rights he never needed to lose the arm. He's still the strongest without it, but why'd he lose it in the first place if he didn't have to???
So I replied, after like a minute of thought, "Because he might not need the arm, but Luffy needed him to lose his arm". Luffy needed the lesson he was going to learn for Shanks giving up that piece of himself to save Luffy's life. He needed to see the stakes and be given that lesson of actions, consequences, collateral damage, giving pieces of yourself for the sake of your crew/family/nakama.
Furthermore, with Sanji and Luffy being connected through "my mentor/surrogate father literally gave up a piece of himself to save my life", stands to logic that Sanji also needed that lesson in the narrative sense. These older guard pirates passed along something vital, giving up something that they don't need to live fulfilling lives but would be seen as incredibly important, to teach the next generation something and give them tools with which to do better.
I don't go here (I don't have the spoons for the entirety of One Piece tbh), but I liked the conclusion I came up with and wanted to share it in the hopes that you might like it too. I don't think I'm breaking any new ground here tbh but as an outsider, it was neat to think about.
I SURE AM, BUDDY X'''D Thanks for popping in! 👀 I got thoughts (and manga screencaps since you won't read it anyway, FREE REIN:
Hm. I mean point taken, but I mean...even the strongest people aren't infallible? Even IF Shanks has Conquerer's Haki (the power in question) which is something very special someone has to be born with and trained to use to its fullest, that doesn't mean it'll fix everything. Also like. He's also been shown to kinda....lose control of it when nervous or on edge.
Like my dude did not have to do this. He mentions later he doesn't like being on different territory or something LOL (he's visiting a different powerful pirate leader here).
Anyway to rescue Luffy at that time, he had to act FAST and was probably SCARED FOR HIM so like. Maybe didn't have the time to make the Haki register? It came down to losing Luffy or bodily thrusting his own arm forward to block the bite from the sea king....and well. Shanks has 2 arms. Only one Luffy. The choice was easy. Even upon losing the arm he didn;t seem upset by it really.
For the sake of the new era he says....the face of it being Luffy himself. And yea the wording really is "I gave it up" and him clearly having no regrets.
STILL I think you do have a point, this was VERY important for Luffy to learn. This same kid stabbed his own face to prove he was "manly enough" to be a pirate (so Shanks wouldn't leave without him....like his brother Ace....like his brother Sabo, to an extent, through "death" in his case) so the realization that being a pirate....would not be easy. There would be sacrifice. There would be pain. But also in a way, it was Shanks showing how important Luffy was to him. This, and passing down that straw hat much to big for Luffy....yeah.
It's clear then he's not ready. Not yet. It's with these parting gifts that Luffy is finally able to let Shanks go, and improve himself so he's strong enough to protect others, so they don;t have to do for him what Shanks did. Luffy learned to live, and while Shanks's sacrifice was devastating to Luffy, he took it to heart to keep going and grow stronger. And yea, that Nakama is just that important, more than limbs. More than life.
NOW SANJI ON THE OTHER HAND....similar but different. Luffy and Sanji were very lonely kids, but for different reasons. Luffy was clingy to anyone who showed him anything close to kindness, while Sanji....puffed up like a scared cat. Without going deep into details, he's from an extremely abusive family that beat into him he's not worth anything because he's weak. Especially from his father. So when Zeff gives him all the food, and sacrifices his own leg....well...
"Why did you do that for me?! I never gave you a reason to be kind to me!!!" And Zeff responds with their shared dreams of the All Blue...but I also feel like it's just. Sanji is a kid. He's just a kid. Again a face of the new generation to come. Zeff had his chance to search for the All Blue and be a pirate, but Sanji's life is just beginning. I'm sure that fueled his decision too.
But unlike Luffy, this just made Sanji cling harder. In a way he gave up his dream to support Zeff, out of guilt, out of a sense of duty and kindness he'd....not really experienced and didn't know what to do with. And Zeff probably allowed it for awhile, because goodness Sanji is just a kid, and he needed someone to help him grow and learn.
But it took Luffy to come along, bringing "I will live for you" to challenge Sanji's "I will die for you" conclusion.
Which uh. Didn't really fix Sanji's self sacrificial nature, but it HELPED, lmao. Eventually he was able to let go of suppori=ting the Baratie to finally chase his dream...as long as he doesn't die for a crewmate in the process hsdhfhdsk
So YEA IDK how much their mentors/father figures knew/thought about their sacrifices, but there sure were willing choices to give up their limbs for the upcoming generation/era, no matter what. I loved Zeff emphasizing that to Garp in OPLA, I think that's extremely important and a huge theme to One Piece in general. Cycles, power, and how many conflicts rise from powerful forces refusing to let go of their power, thus suffocating the new generations (the World Government smacking down so hard on the age of pirates).
Shanks and Zeff gave their support and protection to ensure these kids could live their fullest lives, and I think that's beautiful!
#nsfi#breezy replies#one piece#meta#op#idk if this made sense I have many thoughts all the time in many directions#op manga spoilers#one piece spoilers#ageofzero#sorry if you got back more than you wanted kjHSKJDLHFKSD I SURE AM DEEP IN THE PAINT#LOST IN THE SAUCE IF YOU WILL#zeff and shanks gave up their limbs willingly because wow they're just kids#their own ways of support#they had no idea how said kids' traumas would react to said sacrifices tho LMAO#ie Luffy letting go and needing to be stronger#whiiiich only got worse with Ace heyo abandonment issues babeyyyy#meanwhile Sanji and kindness being complicated and even RARE....why would he let that go....#love these kids they got issues and their parental figures sure are trying their best lolol#thanks for the ask!!!#shanks#luffy#zeff#sanji#i understand....one piece is very long.....#I personally am super enjoying the manga tho heheheh

I'm here with another silly idea for ZoSan, dear Strawhearts. And you know what? I love cliches. Because for me it is always so much fun to take something that is very well-known and predictable and think how it can be turned around and changed. So, of course, when I see the "f*ck or die" tag on AO3, my brain immediately starts to work and think what I can do with it. I'm writing this in a very subdued and non-descriptive manner (because I'm just sharing a general idea), but I think you can fill in the blanks given the topic.
So what if this happened and during another battle with an enemy ship, Sanji was somehow drugged.
And now this is a ten times worse version of Sanji, and not only regarding girls. And since it's ZoSan, of course Zoro is the one who finds Sanji in the kitchen and notices that something is wrong with the shitty cook. They fight as usual, but in the end it ends with Sanji admitting that he needs help. He tells Zoro that he trusts him, that he is strong enough to watch over him and not let him out of the kitchen so that Sanji doesn't do things to others that he will later regret.
So now they're stuck in the kitchen alone with Zoro shooing everyone away from the door who comes to find out what's going on. Although later they still had to move down to another cabin because Luffy couldn’t live without food and was ready to break inside. Sanji, in turn, is holding up adequately for now, but over time things are getting worse. Zoro can tell that the cook is burning like a furnace even sitting a few steps away from him.
Over time, Zoro begins to talk to Sanji to distract him. Somehow they manage to talk to each other without the usual fighting and insults. This is probably because Sanji is too out of it and just doesn't have the strength. And Zoro, despite the impression of an idiot that he sometimes creates, is actually very smart and attentive and senses the situation enough to react adequately. Because you can't be the best swordsman if you can't read your enemies and people in general as a consequence. And Sanji is not just a crew member, he has always been his rival. Zoro is able to read Sanji better than anyone to this point. So he understands when "it's not the right time".
Although, as a few more hours pass, everything begins to slide even further down the slope. Zoro begins to think that the shitty cook has bitten more than he can chew. And if Zoro is completely frank, he himself has been having “strange” thoughts for some time now, which he stubbornly refuses to name. He suggests turning to Chopper for medical help, but Sanji categorically refuses. Chopper is too young and there is no way in hell that Sanji would allow him to be exposed to “such things in life” even as a doctor.
More time passes and when at some point Sanji stops responding to Zoro and he realizes that Curly blacked out Zoro thinks that he had enough.
He manages to bring Sanji back to consciousness and angrily (because he’s worried, although he won’t admit it) says that the cook is an idiot and instead of being stubborn and enduring and possibly dying, Zoro could help him. They could solve this problem. And in general it’s not even a problem, there’s nothing “special” about it, they’ll just forget about it after that and that’s it. However, despite his clouded consciousness, Sanji watched him very carefully and maybe he would have believed Zoro that “there is nothing special about this” if he had not been red as a tomato and his hands had not trembled so much, despite how tightly they were squeezing the collar of his shirt.
So after a moment of silence, he carefully removed Zoro's hands, never taking his eyes off Zoro.
"Marimo. If you want to help me, help me. Stay with me. Make sure I don't do anything stupid. Restart my heart if it stops. Help me breathe if I can't anymore. But don't fucking ever offer me this solution again. That won't happen, not in circumstances like these. Not under pressure. I don't want to hear this. I'd rather fucking die than let anything control me and influence my actions. I am my own man, this is my body and only I can decide what and how."
There was something left unsaid. Something Zoro doesn't know yet about the cook's past. But he understands that it is important enough not to try to propose this solution anymore.
Silence fell after that, interrupted only by Sanji's heavy breathing and muffled wheezes of pain. Each of them with their own thoughts. Curly is strong, Zoro knows he will get through, but despite this, for some reason it’s hard to hear his pain. Zoro's hand twitches to reach out to him and somehow bring comfort. But he doesn't do that, he just sits next to him.
It becomes dark, night falls over the sea and a sudden thought comes to Zoro.
“You said that you don’t want it to happen under such circumstances.. Does that mean that under different..”
"Shut up shitty Marimo."
"..you would make out with me?"
Zoro doesn't see Sanji's face, he doesn't answer. But the silence is so loud that Zoro begins to think that he is about to suffocate. He wasn't prepared for how hard it would hit him.
They don't speak after that. It's deep into the night when Zoro hears that Sanji's breathing has become measured, he seems to have fallen asleep. The drug has worn off. Zoro sighs, feeling suddenly very tired and as if sobered up. This is an unpleasant and strange feeling. It was as if it suddenly became colder. He feels nervous and angry. And the worst thing is he understands why.
He is afraid of losing what he doesn't have. What he didn't know he needed. Something he didn't notice.
Sanji shifts in his sleep and Zoro feels a growl forming in his throat.
He doesn't sleep that night.
He guards.
#sanji#zoro#zosan#vinsmoke sanji#black leg sanji#roronoa zoro#one piece#it's a “f*ck or die” situation but nothing will happen between them#you won't find smut here I'm absolutely not descriptive it's just a small idea as always

HIDDEN NOVA
CHP(3) Golden boy shines bold and melts quick
Ace pov:
Fucking hell, i forgot about my brunch with..dad
“Isn’t it a bit too tight?” i said, looking at Sabo, feeling unable to breath
"No, it looks neater this way.”
“Neater when i die of suffocation,” i said, loosening my tie
Sabo just frowns and shakes his head
“Are you finally going to tell him about our band?” he said, sounding serious
I stopped; I had not even considered that. After all, we were getting a lot of online following because of Y/N's incredible post,
but...what if I were not going to be as good as I was before? What if I wasn’t good enough? What if I let Luffy and Sabo down? if I
“Hey,“ sabo held my shoulders and shoke me
“Its alright,” Sabo said, smiling at me, “you don't have to tell him.”
“Thanks,” i said quietly, biting my lower lip until i felt a little blood seep thru
I was wearing a tie as my father usually books an over-the-top fancy restaurant
I mean, seriously, who goes all the way to Italy just because you crave some good pizza?
I sighed at seeing the restaurant. A 90’s punk rock cafe which got turned into a day bar...
Is this the right address? i checked my phone quickly
i opened my phone and started to scroll thru my messages
“Hothead here-” i looked up i knew i came to right place after hearing that nickname
Hothead, a special nickname given to me by my dad
He said I used to get angry really quickly and swears he saw steam coming out of my head once when I was mad at him for eating my food.
“Hey dad..” I said, sitting down next to him, loosening my tie completely and losing the over-the-top high-class, Im too good for your outfit
“What's up with the frown? "Got your heart broken or worse, fell in love,” he chuckled
“What the hell, dad?” I said, rubbing my head in irritation from the headache that would just not go away
Some people from the far away table saw my dad and started to whisper, Ah, right
Gold D. Roger, the best stock marketing investor's the world had ever seen
My dad was young when he started but started bold
He made a whole name for himself at the age of 22; that was insane
He is insane, but-like leave that, he’s filthy rich and has an amazing wife, my beautiful mother, who has unfortunately became more sick after my birth, so I visit her in the hospital ever once a month, and me a trust fund kid who got everything handed to him on a golden plate.
I laughed fucking golden plate for Gold D Roger’s son
“So i am right and sadly, i see that love is not the problem, your just to happy to see me; you don't know how to express it,” he said, shaking his head and wiping away fake tears
“Dad..why did you call me here? You never called in the last minute like this.”
His breath hitched for a sec, He went to say something no word came
“Your mother," I shot my eyes up at him. i panicked, and I felt my hands trembling for a moment
“she's coming back home,” laughed my father out loud and i lost it
“HOW COULD NOT TELL ME THAT OVER A CALL OR ATLEST TAKE ME HOME WITH YOU?" I SAID FUMMING WITH ANGRY
My father just chuckled and told me to calm down. We talked about how the doctor said it was ok for mom to come back for a few months. I smiled. I wanted her to come back for such a long time, but now she's coming back after I left long ago.
"Well, i have to go,” i told my dad
"Already, but we didn’t even share a drink," frowned my father
"Dad, its 12 in the morning- and I already have a hangover—you know what? Leave it; I have an assessment." i don't even think i have done one of my thesis or assessments, but oh well-
"Well, ok, then bye,” said my father. i got ready to walk out but the moment i was about to step out, when my father yelled at me
“Ace, your mom would be happy to see how handsome you have become, and how much you have grown to look like her,” he said, smiling at me
I smiled and walked out of the bar.
.
.
.
"This is where we meet for the first time,” said Roger, gliding his hands across the wooden counter of the bar and chuckling.
“Im such a coward; i didn't have the heart to tell him...”
“This is the last time she might ever come back to the house." Roger rubbed his eyes and lowered his head in disappointment.
Ace pov-
While walking back, I heard a few people mumbling behind my back.
“Isn’t that ace?”
“Yeah god, he’s so lucky to have everything handed to him.”
"Yeah, everything except talent, i mean, come on, he doesn't even need to have any; his dad could buy him some if he asked him to” chuckled the third one
I was annoyed. Who the fuck are these uneducated boneheaded idiots talking about? I mean, yes, I’m not entitled to have great talent or that am very talented , but what the hell, everything I do is not defined by my father's money, is it?
I gripped my own hand, shutting it close, curled into a fist, and let my nails dig deep before I punched one of those hideous idiots and gave them a good reason for a plastic surgery.
Y/N POV-
Well the next day, I had to go meet with Ace. It was around evening, and Ace texted me, saying that he'd meet me at the bar at 8.
I started to get ready while telling nami and robin all about ace because i had completely forgotten to tell them before because of the assessment and work
Nami was going to kill me, saying
“How could you not tell me about your boyfriend?” she cried
"He is not my boyfriend.”
“Not yet,” said nami cheekily, giving me a smirk
I sighed and smiled at the idea of that pretty idiot being my boyfriend, though it would be fun to play with his hair—NO, get your mind on track, not in the gutter
Hes pretty and rich; he probably has a lot of girls already, I said, nodding my head.
I wore a burgundy off-the-shoulder top with a black mini skirt with fishnet stockings, grabbed my purse, put on my necklace, and left to go to the bar.
I arrived a little early expecting to save a seat for Ace, but it seemed ace was already there waiting for me, fiddling with his hands
"Hey,” i said, smiling at him
“Oh hi,” he said, his face lighting up a bit
"Soo, what did you call me up for?” i said seating down
“Straight to the point i see,” chuckled ace
"Well, i like that, so what i wanted to talk about was that the video which you made was amazing and you know a thing or two about the algorithm, dont you? ” said Ace, smirking, “So would you like to be our media manager for now?”
I laughed, not as dumb as i thought he was
"Hmm, well, let me see. Sure, why not? It will expand my horizons,” i said, giving him a small grin
“So a yes then,” he said, grining
“yeah
"Well, cheers to that,” said Ace, holding up his drink, and so we crashed our drinks together, laughing like idiots.
He’s so pretty, I thought (after about 3 shots of tequila). His eyes are so shiny, I wonder what kind of gem it would be. It would be a real precious one, i thought, smiling
"What are you smiling about?” said ace tilting his head and moving closer to my face, smirking
“Your pretty face,” i said, grinning
He was a bit taken aback from the straight-forward answer but the truth is the truth
“You different in a fun and weird way, but its good,” he said, smiling
“Oh yeah, also, i needed your advice how this song goes,” ace said, holding up a bunch of tissues
And putting them out in order
I was to drunk to read them properly but i knew something for sure: this was going to sound good
“For weeks they had strolled around,
Playing the fools.
They knew the time would come
And time would be cruel.
Because it is cruel to everyone
He's crying out from the meeting place
He's stranded himself there.
Where her voice still echoes,”
How is he so poetic? Is this the same man who was talking about nuggets for about an hour? Like, excuse me, what is this?
“Is it so bad that you don't know what to say?" chuckled ace
“Na bro, this is too good It's like better then your nugget speech,” i said, giggling (oh, im drunk; i know it, but can’t do anything about it)
Ace smiled and mumbled something. I was to busy staring at my hands to see if I could find an extra finger.
.
.
.
“You know we have to stop meeting like this,” i cling onto ace’s shoulder
“What do you mean at the bar?"
"Come on, its a good bar, cheap food expect for the fact that Luffy almost stole from them, but...”
“Not that freckles,” i said, putting my fingers on his mouth and shushing him
"Like this," said, referring to the fact that he’s helping me walk back to the dorms
Ace chuckled
"Well, I guess we have to figure something out now, don’t we, sweetheart?”
I was drunk but not stupid (I am). i knew he was playing his little flirting game so i played back
“Oh really, love, why don't we meet someplace else now?” i said, tilting my head
His face went red, deep red
I chuckled and laughed at him the entire night
“Freckles your like a strawberry,” i said, holding in my laughter and tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard while ace carried my drunken ass back too hell (college)

Ya Heard, With Gerd
Have I ever mentioned Parks & Recreation is one of my favorite live action shows? It perfectly captures the banality but sometimes cool stuff that gets done in local politics. I wish people would take half the passion they put towards yelling about global events on the Internet towards something attainable in their own backyard, things would be so much better.
I digress, but there isn't much to say about this big happening in 1130 apart from the main thrust. So...we all recognize the X right? Who's been with Morgans and would have the ability to pull her own 3D2Y? Miss Wednesday herself. Obviously this was Vivi, now we know why we split the crew the way we did. Which makes this pretty interesting actually. Because unlike Luffy's gambit the ones who need to see this don't get to. Robin kinda recalls something though and it is believable for her to remember the gang pulling this. Remember she struts out onto the deck right as they sail away, it's not unrealistic for her to figure it out. We'll see what it leads to though, usually with a paper going into an arc it comes back around at the end. Moving on though...we are here!
We'll get a little more into the Grand Fleet but I didn't want to miss this as we transition back from the paper. Hajrudin is a prince of Elbaf, who knew? This also makes me a little steamed with Dorry and Brogy because my theory the GF would come to Egghead was that close to being partially true.
Here and the fact the country is closed off we'll find out later, gotta admit that surprises me a little. The idea there's trouble on Elbaf. I just always thought the land of giants was sorta like Zou. Remote enough with a tribe that's hard to fight so the island's pretty chill. Looks like we'll be getting into something though. And idea we'll pick up.
But hey, lookie who we have here. Gerd and Goldberg, two more of Hajrudin's crew. And we have them talking a little about Road. I think it says something about Hajrudin as a leader that he'd try to bring in someone others don't like much. It all checks out, Road's kinda a weirdo and Gerd seems like a fairly girly girl.
I think it's very interesting you have what we see from the Straw Hats. And it does play into the idea Luffy has a way to go with realizing what he got from Dressrosa. If he was a little better captain...there shouldn't have been an issue. It doesn't take a lot to know a little about the crews who pledged loyalty to you. It doesn't even take knowing the subordinates! Look at Gerd's line, the one Usopp shows he heard part of. The same place she mentions Elbaf she mentions Hajrudin.
And that does make me wonder about seeing a sign from Vivi this chapter. Especially when it is something a little dodgy. If she comes back, she fills this niche. But it always seems like the scenes that nudge at her have something off. All that to say...this should have gone a lot smoother. But I guess we wouldn't get:
I wavered between showing this or Loki's full reveal. The panel on the left is what made the choice for me. So now we have another giant calling himself Sun God...but rather than being a liberator or creator like the other two he sees himself as a destroyer. We also hint at some kind of wild devil fruit.
Lot of cool stuff this chapter. Sadly it looks like we'll take two weeks off but it leaves us at a good point to ponder where this arc will go. I've always had a special place in my heart for the giants since I caught up first on Oimo & Kashi...feels kinda unreal seeing it finally. The Dragon Quest nerd in me will also always pop for Yggdrasil. At least we'll have HxH and a new Skip & Loafer soon.

read about 40 chapters of One Piece (up until they get their ship), inspired by all the One Piece fever in the air.
[actually the impetus for this was my boss talking about Netflix One Piece being very successful, to which I thought, it's against my religion to watch a Netflix live action adaptation of a manga without first reading the manga. so I guess I finally read some One Piece.]
it would be absurd to judge it on <0.5% of the run, but my general impression is that so far... it's solid but conventional, kinda old-school shōnen. each arc so far has mostly seemed to set up... some characters for Luffy's party to protect, a new party member, and some suitably wacky antagonist with a gimmick worthy of a weekly toku show. which, to be fair, is completely fine - I love Berserk, but it sure has a lot of chapters that are just 'a scary guy shows up and Guts fights him'.
it feels very confident - it's kind of hard to believe it's so early in Oda's career, actually! there are a lot of manga storytelling devices that by now feel like old friends - ah, you have a 'treasure' that's precious to you, a place or object that stands as a material symbol of your connection to someone? ah, you're a wacky and weak guy but you're willing to die in a futile battle to defend your home, inspiring our nigh-invincible protagonists into action? lo, a flashback to the definitive moment that lays out your motivation? and i'm not complaining, this stuff works, it is used over and over for a reason! but I sometimes feel like I can hear the Final Fantasy XIV 'a flashback is happening now' music kicking in and it's like hehe, here we go...
I guess this feeling is sort of like the people who watch Citizen Kane and don't see what's so special about it. but then, One Piece began mid-90s - I haven't read enough old shōnen to have a sense of what was new in its formula. if you wanted to be very reductive, you could say Berserk's big trick was to mix a heavy dash of shōjo storytelling into a gritty seinen battle manga, so you have affects of tragedy, wistful longing, even light BL to ground the action chapters. as yet I don't have a sense of how to sum up One Piece's 'thing'.
mostly what i feel like it's missing for me is perhaps a certain level of bleakness and nihilism to counterbalance all these classic romantic devices. it feels kind of like a panto - indeed some of the villains feel like they could launch into an oh no you didn't/oh yes you did routine at any moment. but then as far as shōnen goes, I have perhaps been a little spoiled by Tatsuki Fujimoto! I'm not sure at what point you would say One Piece 'really gets going', its 'Golden Age arc' if you will.
honestly it could just be that I don't super get on with Oda's art style lol. it's definitely not bad on any technical level (well ok there are some funky arm proportions in places) - he's got a clear set of artistic focuses, like big grins and very rounded character shapes, that gives it an instantly recognisable identity - but it's just not my thing. although I still like it a lot more than the later style seen in e.g. One Piece Film Gold.
