Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest EP4

aka: oh my, how the tables and tides have turned

So, me being silly.. this whole time I thought the title was just "Year," not "Years." And I believed this to be the case ever since I started the manga, so that's incredibly stupid of me and I haven't any idea on how I never realized that until this moment.

Laxus, this is one of the few times I’m not thrilled to see you. Yeah good for him for protecting those in the guild now but let Jellal do his thing! He knows this Touka chick is dangerous!

Damn, I can’t wait til Erza gets free so she can kick Kiria’s ass.

Of course seeing Erza forced into this weakened state sucks but having her be retained like this after all the Tower of Heaven stuff is a punch to the gut.

Just as I was about to question where Gray was during all this, Brandish shows up and tosses him over to Lucy. I knew she would appear but I forgotten our boy was already shrunken down.

I know I have a horrible memory, but I honest to Arceus haven’t a clue if we’ve seen Aquarius show up again in the manga yet.

“You deserve a thorough thank you for how you treated me. But attacking a foe in their sleep is an act unbefitting a knight.” I think you can use this one time as an exception, Erza.

“It seems that woman’s ‘cutting one’s strength’ is a form of hypnosis. Magic that is cast through the eyes loses half of its effect on me.” Bro I remain surprised with how often this artificial eye of Erza's has come in clutch.

So, instead of engaging with another dumbass puking up shit takes, I think I'm gonna revisit some of the issues I have with Fairy Tail's final arc.

-Invel, Zeref's general, doesn't really do much. He sets up the Juvia death fake out and gets Gray to go after Natsu. That's it. He doesn't really do anything. At least with cases like Neinhart and Bloodman, they have some kind of fight to make their mark. Invel just gets his ass kicked by Gray the moment they fight.

I think they should have done a small fight before the Ice Lock moment so it flowed together more.

-Having all of Erza's bones broken in the lead up to the meteor attack wasn't a good idea. I get that it's to sell how strong Irene is but the broken bones just pushes it into being another example of Erza's strength going a little too far.

Just have her be in bad condition before the meteor strike THEN have her body broken from the shockwave afterwards.

-Speaking of, Irene being Erza's mom and the creator of Dragon Slayer magic just seems a little...too much. Granted they do more with this concept in 100 Year Quest since Irene sticks around but one doesn't really flow into the other. Nothing to really change here since Irene is given more time to demonstrate her ability and thus justify her extended lifespan in 100 Year Quest.

-Brandish should have some stated connection to Aquaris/Layla more. Have her mention having a stern and mean friend in the past while bathing with Lucy or mention disliking Celestial Spirit mages on the island.

-Don't have Gray try to use Iced Shell again. He JUST tried that in the previous arc.

-Have Lucy mention that she was researching Zeref's demonic script on the side during the time skip to help justify the ending.

-Cut Zeref saying he wants to kill off humanity and replace it with mentions of 'starting over'. The misdirection isn't worth the confusion.

-Have the other four Dragon Slayers from the past have their own fragments of their dragons' magic in their bodies and save Natsu's for the final fight against Acnologia. That way they can logically beat him without having them be definitively stronger.

Yeah I'm not proposing giant sweeping changes here. At that point, just make an AU. Just some tweeks to smooth it out.

P.S. A bit further than most but- Jusr let Makarov die. Let the man go down for his kids.

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Review - Episode 9

The fights in this show are not that good to be honest. So far, they've just been action for the sake of action instead of being moments to build up characters or being meaningful obstacles.

Natsu is so gungho to fight the other Fairy Tail members later, but literally no one puts up a fight when their magic nearly gets stolen. Like, if I found out my family was under the hypnosis of the White Mage, I'd attack her. It's later brought up that the White Mage could kill everyone if she wanted to, but they didn't know that at this time.

It's also mentioned that Gildarts is not among those dyed white which is such a plot hole. The White Mage is surprisingly lucky that the majority of the guild was in one place.

The White Mage plot line and the Dragon Gods plot line are brought together pretty well. Fairy Tail is needed to help accomplish the White Mage's goal of taking control of the Dragon Gods, especially now that Mercphobia isn't under her control anymore. Although, it looked like White Mage hadn't really done anything with Mercphobia before Natsu and the others met him. You'd think she'd get started on that whiteout plan as soon as possible.

The crystals on Aldoron are not explained whatsoever. Why does he have them? Mercphobia didn't have anything like this.

Touka has a surprising amount of agency. Maybe it's some part of having two personalities in one body, but I would've thought the White Mage would suppress her much more. If Touka can free Juvia, I don't see why she couldn't free the other Fairy Tail members one by one. Juvia's under weird partial hypnosis now where she can't be controlled but can tap into the White Mage. Very convenient.

"She caught us off guard." NO SHE DIDN'T. You guys knew she was dangerous and had her handcuffed, but didn't think to take more serious measures to restrain her.

Splitting up is honestly not the move but we have to get our one-on-one fights in. Wendy is supposed to be the one releasing everyone from hypnosis. The purpose of that is defeated when you split up and don't have Wendy around when you win a fight. (Who's to say they won't wake up?)

We got started on three of the fights. Gray vs. The Thunder Legion, Natsu vs. Gajeel, and Lucy vs. The Strausses. The Thunder Legion will be fun to see in action, but they don't have much of a relationship with Gray so I'm not sure how meaningful of a fight it'll be. Natsu and Gajeel is a predictable matchup and it could honestly go on for a while since they're both really powerful. I did think Pantherlily vs. Happy was really funny. I forgot Pantherlily was afraid of lightning and was totally ready for him to beat Happy up.

Good to see Loke again. I'm all here for Lucy's magical girl transformation. I need her to kick ass now. Her fight is the one I'm most invested in.

There's still a lot more Fairy Tail members running around though, so time's ticking or else those extra members could definitely destroy the crystals while everyone else is fighting. Like, Makarov, Cana, Levy etc. are still out there. Laxus and Jellal are the two heavy hitters we have yet to see, so it will probably be Erza vs. Jellal and Wendy vs. Laxus.

No More Waiting (Gruvia Week 2021 series) Chapter 1: Beguile

Series Summary: After the 100 Years Quest, Gray’s finally ready to be in a relationship with Juvia. And after pining for each other for so long, things escalate quickly. 

Chapter Summary: Fairy Tail goes to the beach for a weekend for Sorcerer Weekly to take pictures of them. And seeing Juvia in a swimsuit, has Gray feeling some kind of way.

A/N: For gruvia week I decided that instead of writing a bunch of one-shots, I’d string all the prompts together into a mini-series! Each chapter based off of one prompt for each day. So here’s the first one for “beguile”! Enjoy!

You’d think that an ice Wizard would hate going to the beach. But Gray actually enjoyed it quite a bit. The weather was warm but if he got too hot it was easy to cool down with his magic. Not to mention, it was perfectly acceptable for him to wear minimal clothing. 

“Gray you’re naked!” Lucy exclaims.

Perhaps not that minimal. 

Gray turns around to see where he discarded his swimming trunks and hurries back to put them on. 

“Sorcerer Weekly paid for us to come here because they want pictures of Fairy Tail wizards having a day at the beach for their Summer issue. Not idiots in the nude.” Lucy scolds Gray. 

“You’re one to talk.” Gray retorts. “You’re practically nude yourself. That bikini you’ve got on under your cover up barely covers anything.” 

That earned him a smack upside the head. 

“At least I’m not flashing my goods to anyone like you.” Lucy says.

“Fair enough.” Gray says and rubs the back of his head. 

He looks around at all of the people on the beach. There were Fairy Tail guild members and a few civilians. But the one person he wanted to see most, seemed nowhere to be found…

“Looking for Juvia?” Lucy asks teasingly. 

Gray stiffens up and Lucy giggles. When he turns around to see her smirking face, he bristles with annoyance. 

Ever since the 100 Years Quest ended, it was pretty obvious to everyone that he returned the water mage’s feelings for him. It was true, he was in love with Juvia. But he didn’t love all of the teasing from his friends that came with it.

“No. Aren’t you wondering where Natsu is?” Gray asks. 

That got her. Lucy blushes and looks away from him. 

“Well yeah but it’s not like I’m dying to see him or anything.” Lucy says as she sets down her stuff and starts to unpack. 

“Really. Because I think you may have bought that new swimsuit just to impress him.” Gray says.

That earned him a whack in the head from her beach bag that knocked him into the sand. 

“That is completely idiotic!” Lucy exclaims before taking off her cover up, revealing her pale skin, and white bikini to the salty air of the beach. “Besides, it’s Natsu. You know he doesn’t care about stuff like that.” 

“Hey Ice Princess!” 

Speak of the devil, Gray thinks to himself as he turns around and sees Natsu running up to them, carrying a beach ball under his arm. 

“Come play volleyball with me! I know that I’m better at it than you! I’ll totally kick your ass!” He taunts. 

“We’ve only been here for ten minutes and you’re already challenging him to a fight?” Lucy asks. 

Natsu looks over Gray’s shoulder, to see Lucy and his playful demeanor instantly changes to a flustered one when he sees her. Gray was shocked. Natsu has never shown any interest in women or relationships before. He’s never gotten flustered by them either. While all of the guys in the guild would be drooling over sexy women, Natsu couldn’t care less. Until now, apparently. His eyes were glued to Lucy’s form and his cheeks began to heat up. 

Lucy began to get flustered under his gaze. Gray could tell she was just as shocked by Natsu’s reaction as he was. Although Lucy was probably hoping this would happen someday, but she didn’t expect it to actually come to be. 

“W-what do you think Natsu?” Lucy asks shyly, tilting her head to the side and pushing her chest forward a bit to try to look more attractive. 

“You look…great.” Natsu answers.

Lucy blushes and looks away from him. 

“Oh…thanks.” She says. “You like my new bikini?”

“Yeah it looks perfect!” He compliments and Lucy has to cover her mouth to stop herself from squealing in surprise and excitement. “It’s perfect for playing ball with me and Gray! Think fast!” He exclaims and tosses the ball at her, and it hits her in the head.

Gray smiles and laughs. Natsu sure had them both going for a second there. But sure enough, he was still his same old dense self. It was obvious he was into Lucy but he still didn’t know how to show it properly yet. So nothing out of the ordinary or groundbreaking would be happening today. 

“Gray-sama!” A familiar voice calls to him from the ocean.

Or so he thought. When he turns to see Juvia, he suddenly realizes why Natsu was so flustered when he saw Lucy in her swimsuit, because he was feeling the exact same way about seeing Juvia in hers. 

She was wearing a simple light blue bikini, the same color as her hair. The top was held together by a knot in the front under her breasts, tying the two pieces of fabric together. So her cleavage was on full display. And as she made her way out of the water and towards him, he couldn’t help but stare at her legs. He always thought they were her best feature. They were strong, hiding powerful muscles under smooth, soft skin. Soft skin that glistened in the sunlight from the water droplets that remained from the ocean. By the time she was in front of him, he was practically in a trance, lost in her beauty.

“Could you help Juvia put up her beach umbrella by her towel? Gray-sama?” She asks when he doesn’t answer her. 

She was confused. He was staring at her, but he couldn’t seem to hear her. And his eyes didn’t seem to be on hers, they seemed to be looking at something lower…She waves her hand in front of his face and he snaps out of it. 

“Huh? Did you say something Juvia?” Gray asks, embarrassed that he caught her staring.

“Yes. Juvia asked if Gray-sama wanted to help her set up her umbrella?” Juvia asks again.

“Oh yeah! Sure!” Gray answers a little too quickly.

She brings him to her towel and he immediately gets to work with the umbrella, using the task as an excuse not to look at her so he could get his thoughts in order. But then when he turns around to stand the umbrella up, she bends over to try to pick up a hermit crab she spotted, and his thoughts became even more scrambled. And now the umbrella wasn’t the only thing standing up.

Even before he returned his feelings for her, he’d always found her attractive. I mean who wouldn’t. But seeing her like this now that he knew he liked her, he couldn’t help but let his imagination indulge in thoughts of what her smooth skin would feel like under his hands. And what it would be like to touch the places that were covered underneath the fabric of her swimwear. How it would feel to have those long, gorgeous legs wrapped his waist while she moans his name in the throes of passion-

“Gray Fullbuster and Juvia Lockser sharing a towel together on the beach! So cool!” Jason exclaims, spotting them and coming over. 

Gray lets out a sigh of relief. This would be a good distraction from his smutty thoughts, for sure. 

“Hi Jason!” Juvia greets the photographer cheerfully. “Juvia found a hermit crab in the sand!” 

She shows him the little crab and he inspects it. 

“So cool!” He answers, predictably and Juvia sets the creature back down in the sand.

“Have you gotten any good photos so far?” Gray asks. 

“You bet!” Jason answers enthusiastically. “You Fairy Tail wizards make the hot beach look so cool! And seeing an ice make wizard, and a water mage, the two coolest magic element wizards standing here together in the sun has inspired an awesome idea for a photo! Can I take a picture of you two together on the towel?” 

“Oh Juvia would love that!” Juvia says and bounces on her feet. 

Gray gulps, as the action causes her breasts to move a bit and he was suddenly beginning to feel flustered again.

“Would Gray-sama pose on the towel with Juvia?” Juvia asks him. 

Even though Gray knew that getting close to her when her body was so exposed like this was a bad idea, he couldn’t say no to her. He’s already disappointed her too many times. 

“Sure, why not.” Gray says simply and the look of joy on her face was enough to make him smile too. 

“So cool!” Jason exclaims. 

Jason directed Gray to sit on the towel, so his side was facing the camera. And then he instructed Juvia to sit on top of him…on his lap…

“Uh…She’s gonna sit where?” Gray asks, with his face starting to turn red.

“She’ll be straddling you on your lap.” Jason explains.

“Is Gray-sama okay with that?” Juvia asks, blushing a bit as well.

Gray looks her over once again and considers his options. She’s just sitting on his lap, surely he could control himself right?

“Yeah, hop right on.” Gray says as confidently as he can.

Gray gulps as Juvia swings her leg over him so she’s straddling him and then sits herself down in his lap. He was eye-level with her ample chest and he could see the droplets of ocean-water roll down the valley between them. And the feeling of her warm, supple thighs on either side of his hips, squeezing him was making his mind head straight for the gutter as he imagined being in-between her legs for something other than a picture. He gently squeezes her sides as it takes all of his will-power to stay calm and collected. But any control he may have had over himself slipped away instantly when she gently held his chin in her fingers and tilted his head up to look at her.

“Gray-sama, is there a problem?” Juvia asks in a soft voice while Jason takes some pictures of them.

She was so beautiful. Like an ocean Goddess. And he couldn’t deny how badly he wanted her, and neither could his body. And soon Juvia could feel that against her and she gasps.

“Yeah. A big problem!” He mutters.

Gray gets up immediately and runs into the changing room, losing his swim trunks in the process, but that didn’t matter. He was alone now. He could take care of himself in here. But what he didn’t realize is that the cause of his arousal had followed after him to return his clothes to him. 

So when Juvia pulled back the curtains to announce herself, she got a full view of what she had done.

“Gray-sama are you alright-Oh!” Juvia exclaims when she sees the cause of his distress. 

Her pale face turns bright red and she covers her hands over mouth to keep from screaming as her eyes stay fixed on his crotch unable to look away, and neither could Gray. His eyes were fixed on her, wondering which one of them would speak first. 

“You...you were right.” Juvia says softly. “That is a...big problem.” She gulps and averts her gaze. 

Gray takes the opportunity to grab his trunks and pull them on. She was staying silent, which was less of a relief and more of a worry to Gray. Normally she couldn’t stop talking  and she’d cling to him. But now she was silent and unsure as she looks away from him.

“Gray-sama...” she says softly. 

“Yes Juvia?” Gray replies. 

She turns to face him again and meets his gaze. 

“Did Juvia...do that?” She asks shyly. 

Normally Gray would’ve lied. He would have denied it, called her crazy and stormed out while she chased after him. But things were different now. Now that he had become a man who could protect her, he didn’t have to reject her advances. Nor did he want to. He wanted her more than anything, and she had a right to know that. 

“Yes.” Gray answers.

Juvia’s eyes widen and she lets out a soft gasp. 

“You’re so beautiful Juvia, and you look so sexy in that swimsuit. I couldn’t help but get turned on. I’m sorry.” Gray explains. 

“Why is are you sorry Gray-sama?” Juvia asks. 

Getting more confident, she steps closer to Gray and he gulps. 

“Juvia has always wanted Gray-sama. So now if he wants Juvia...” She says and stops right in front of him, standing up on her tip-toes to kiss him. “He can take her.” 

So he did. 

He wraps one arm around her waist and holds her cheek in his other hand and brings his lips to hers. 

Juvia was surprised at first, but let herself melt into the kiss. Her hands moving up his chest to rest on his shoulders as they kissed. 

As they make out, she presses her body more firmly against his and Gray’s hands can’t help but wander her body. 

She presses up against the tent in his trunks, causing Gray to groan “Juvia” and Juvia to moan “Gray-sama”, a noise that only turns him on more. 

But before she can take off her top like she was working on doing, Gray places his hands over hers to stop her. 

“Wait.” He says. 

Juvia’s lustful gaze turns to one of worry. Gray felt a twinge of regret, knowing because of their past that she was afraid he would reject her again. But he wasn’t. In fact he was doing the opposite. 

“Come with me.” Gray says simply and takes her hand to lead her out of the changing room. 

Juvia’s heart soars with excitement. 

“Gray-sama, what are you doing?” She asks. 

“Taking you on a date.” Gray says and Juvia stops breathing for a moment. 

“Oh Gray-sama! That makes Juvia so happy! But why do you want to go on a date instead of just making love to Juvia?” Juvia asks. “Does Gray-sama not want Juvia in that way?”

“No. I do. But I figure that if we’re gonna do this, I wanna do it right.” Gray tells her. “And you mean too much to me for me to just screw you before I’ve done something to show you that I care about you.” 

Juvia blushes and runs up closer to Gray to hug his arm. 

“Juvia knows that you care about her. But whatever Gray-sama wants to do, Juvia is fine with.” Juvia says. 

“Alright then let’s go on a date.” Gray says. 

And with that they walk into the woods together.

author’s note: well. everybody. are we surprised??????? i dont write a thing for like months but then i get inspiration and here i am✨✨ also im not gonna lie... this fic is a lil bit ooc. v much for gray. its believable but like BARELY. so BASICALLY if u dont read fairy tail 100 years quest, this might not make a whole lotta sense to u, but i think youll be able to follow! Without missing a beat, Juvia launched herself at her darling Gray. “Ahh...” She lulled with great relief. “It’s so good to see you safe, Gray-sama.”

Her arms naturally wrapped around his neck as she sweetly nuzzled her face right into his. The two of them were certainly beat up from their battle with Metro, and they had the bandages wrapped around themselves from head-to-toe to proove it. Yet, naturally, Juvia didn’t mind. Her body was achey, sure, but all she could feel was warmth from her overwhelming love for Gray.

She felt Gray’s muscles soften. He brought his hand up to the top of her head, bringing her into the crook of his neck, and he followed her lead by resting his cheek atop her head. He couldn’t help but smirk at the sight of Juvia safe and acting like her normal self. After finally getting a moment to breathe, this was the first time in a long time he was really seeing Juvia where they weren’t fighting or she wasn’t partially brainwashed by Touka. It was nice to see her back to being unequivocally Juvia.

“You too.” Was all he replied, but that was all he needed to say.

Gray could hear the gasps going around the guild at the sight of he and Juvia, but he paid it no mind.

“Ok tiger, think you could maybe put some pants on?” Cana’s call to Gray was what finally snapped him out of it.

“Gah! My pants!” He exclaimed, flustered, breaking from his embrace with Juvia.

“They’re right here, darling!” Juvia quickly gathered his clothes. Naturally, she was always keeping track.

“Thanks.” He snatched them. He snapped his attention to his number one rival, and pointed at him. “Natsu, as soon as I get these back on, I’m kicking your ass!” He shouted.

“Eh?!” He responded. “Why me?!”

“Because you got to have all the fun taking down a dragon! Now I want a piece of you!” He taunted. He couldn’t deny that the combination of a couple beers, and the adrenaline rush from another Fairy Tail victory, was amping Gray up, to say the least.

“Bring it on!” Natsu grinned, and began cracking his knuckles.

Before they knew it, a bunch of the guys were rolling around like wild animals. You would’ve never thought they just faced one of the biggest battles of their lives, but, well, that was Fairy Tail.

“Get em’, Gray-sama!” Juvia cheered on, energetically, just as he swung a punch at Gajeel.

Juvia went back to the bar to get some more drinks, and Gray was shortly behind her. “Aw man.” He flopped onto the seat beside Juvia, out of breath. “Those guys don’t mess around in a fight. Even when we’re already beaten to a pulp.” Gray snickered. He did love a good fight, but he couldn’t deny his body was tired.

Juvia hummed a giggle. “The same can be said for you. Juvia saw you throwing some solid punches.” She handed him a beer.

“Did you expect anything less?” Gray playfully smirked at Juvia, causing her to blush just a tad.

“Of course not.” She grinned.

“Lucy!” Gray shouted, and as he did so, he casually brought his arm around Juvia, placing a hand on her shoulder as they both sat. Juvia was really blushing now. She sat still and silent, afraid of ruining the moment.

Gray continued once Lucy turned to him. “Why don’t you give Natsu some of that booze? Maybe that would take him off his game and I could kick his sorry ass in one shot!” He joked.

The hand still weighed heavy on Juvia’s shoulder. Did Gray place it there by accident? Did he know what he was doing? Maybe he just needed her so he could keep his balance? Or maybe he was cold and wanted Juvia to keep him warm?

Natsu perked up “Give me all the booze in the world! I’ll still kick your ass!” Just as he said that, Elfman came up from behind him, and slammed his body to the ground. Gray and Juvia both laughed.

“Leave it to Natsu to pick a fight with just about anyone.” He snorted, but Juvia couldn’t pay much attention to what Gray was saying at the moment.

He casually brought his hand down for just a moment, and just as Juvia’s mind rolled with questions as to what he could possibly be doing now, she was given an answer. He softly took a lock of her hair in his hand, and ever so lightly stroked it. Juvia was frozen in happiness. She didn’t dare turn her head, but she did see Gray out of the corner of her eye, and he simply took a gulp of his beer, without seeming to mind at all that he was doing something completely and utterly unlike him—public affection. However, he was unbothered. He continued rhythmically running his fingers through her hair as if this was the most normal thing in the world to him.

“Maybe I’m bias, but beer is better when Mira’s serving it at the guild.” He said to Juvia as he looked curiously at his beer. While saying this, he even began to twirl a piece of hair between his fingers. The way her heart fluttered with each flip of his fingers was something she’d never felt, but wow— what a feeling. Unfortunately, Juvia could not hold back this reaction as shivers were sent all over her body rather noticeabley.

“You ok?” Gray stopped the hair stroking, and brought his palm to the middle of her back, still seemingly putting forth an effort to touch her, and he looked over at her.

“Y-yes!” Juvia jolted. “Juvia is fine!”

“You sure?” He raised a brow. “You seem a little tense.”

“No! Honestly! Juvia is completely fine, just a bit caught off guard is all!” She was starting to break a sweat. Leave it to her to screw up a moment.

“How so?” He finally pulled the hand away, to Juvia’s dismay.

“W-well...” She fiddled with her thumbs. “It-it’s just that... Gray-sama... was playing with Juvia’s hair, a-and you had your arm around me—and— Juvia was just surprised, that’s all!”

“Oh.” Gray was the one who was a bit stunned this time. His cheeks turned bright red, and he couldn’t help but look away.

Honestly, he really wasn’t even aware that he was doing that until Juvia pointed it out. He was taken aback by himself, admittedly. It wasn’t like him to be a hands-on type of guy. However, what he did know, was now that he knew he wasn’t touching her, he felt a desire to touch her more than ever. It was like once he knew she wasn’t in his grasp, a piece of himself felt lost. He wanted his arm around her. He wanted to feel her soft blue waves run through his fingers. He wanted to feel her warm embrace in his arms. So, even though he didn’t make a conscious effort to be physical, it was what he wanted. He wanted to feel her, and thus feel comfort. Feel serenity. Feel happiness.

“But, it’s ok!” Juvia leaned towards him. “Juvia didn’t mind at all! Not one bit! Oh, Juvia is so sorry! She’s insulted Gray-sama! As an apology, you may touch Juvia wherever you want!” She stood up and proudly spread her arms and puffed her chest, displaying herself for Gray.

Gray’s whole face burned fiercely. “Ah, jeez, would you sit down!” He snapped, and he took Juvia by her shoulders, putting her back in her seat.

“Juvia is sorry!” She exclaimed. “It’s just that, it’s not like Gray-sama to show any sort of affection in public! Juvia doesn’t know how to act!”

“Yeah, I guess.” Gray nervously scratched the back of his head. “I dunno’, it’s just that, well, after so many of these fights and always putting our lives on the line, it’s just hard to believe we’ve made it this far. On top of that, seeing all my comrades safe and...” He paused. “Seeing you safe after all of this... it just makes me feel so relieved. And, well, basically, I’ve come to realize that life is short.” He looked down. “Really short. And, I don’t wanna waste time worrying about stupid stuff. I just wanna’ do what’ll make me happy.”

He finally locked eyes with Juvia. “And you make me happy.”

Tears rushed to her stunned eyes. “Oh, Gray-sama!” She threw herself onto him all over again. He reciprocated almost instantly, placing a hand on her back. She looked back up at him, eyes glazed with tears. “You make Juvia happy too.” She smiled gently.

“Glad we’re on the same page.” Gray smirked, and then he brought Juvia back into his hold. They were both where they belonged- safe, and in each other’s arms.

As Juvia rested against his chest, she felt a comforting sensation that was already so familiar to her: Gray combing his fingers ever so gently through her long hair.

I know I’m bout to piss a lot of y’all off, but it must be said.

This is entirely from my own personal nalu-oriented perspective, it is purely my opinion so don’t get heated ok?

I personally believe Aquarius’ presence in the last two chapters was completely unnecessary. Mashima laid the perfect foundation to develop NaLu - a scenario where Natsu would be forced to preform some act of affection towards Lucy to gain her back. I am tired of this NaLu baiting, like what was the purpose of even having Natsu there? He ain’t even do nothing. Might as well just have put Gray there. And this is super frustrating to me cause Mashima is deliberately not developing Natsu at this point. There needs to be some sort of conflict or tension for him to develop. And I’m not just saying this as a NaLu shipper, but Natsu’s cluelessness is not funny anymore. This dude hasn’t developed a bit since the beginning of the series. If he isn’t put in a situation where he is FORCED to realize certain things or go out of his comfort zone, he won’t develop at all. Moreover, Mashima will constantly have Lucy ‘awkwaken’ Natsu whenever he has a rage episode like he did with Ignia. But won’t have Natsu do it to Lucy. I swear Nalu fans are so deprived that we will go to LENGTHS to prove that Natsu has romantic feelings for Lucy. Like ‘he kicked her first so he must like her’. We’re thinking way too deep into this, Mashima just writes down the first thing that comes into his head. And although I realize that there are high chances of Nalu becoming canon towards the end, a random romantic relationship between the two in the last episode won’t be satisfying to me.

Now getting back to Aquarius, not only that her presence was random af cause how did she even know what was happening in a whole different dimension while Lucy doesn’t even have her keys on her (not that she had Aquarius’ anyway)? But also the whole ‘water of memory’ situation was just hilarious to me. That came out of nowhere. Like this was never even mentioned and now her water be carrying memories? Pls. I swear Mashima is just doing stuff. Like he sits down and writes the first thing that comes into his head. At least make it make sense?? And Aquarius being there did not contribute at all to the overall story. This is not ‘foreshadowing’ that Lucy’s close to finding the key like that’s literally a keepsake from her mom and Lucy’s the MC. She’s gonna find it, trust me. And I had hoped that since the nalu moment was ruined anyway, we would at least get a proper fight😐 Lucy got this cool ass buff and we don’t get a proper fight? Also why are Lucy’s fights always so short? Natsu’s fights be 3 chapters long compared to Lucy’s 3 panels ones. Aren’t both of them MCs? Why is Mashima treating Lucy like a side-character these days that’s just there to validate the male mc?🙄

Idk I feel like giving up on the 100 years quest, I keep hoping it gets better and I just get disappointed every chapter. Idk, feel free to let me know what you think.

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Review - Episode 4

A big episode for the Touka plot line. It’s honestly overshadowing the 100 Years Quest plot line which I don’t mind because it’s interesting but the main plot line is a little disappointing right now.

Laxus was really good this episode. He handled the Touka stuff really well and I bet his words meant a lot to the real Touka.

Two personalities, huh? I’m wondering if Touka has sought help to get rid of the White Mage before and how her two personalities came about in the first place. Maybe it was ambition like Zeref and she got into a situation and couldn’t turn back in time? Touka seems fairly in control most of the time, but I bet the White Mage just uses her as a cover because of how innocent she comes off as. I’m interested to see what Fairy Tail will do with her.

Jellal, I don’t know what you expected, but I knew there was no way you could stand up against the White Mage if she attacked you. Lucky Gajeel and the others were there.

Seeing Brandish and hearing what the Spriggan 12 are up to was fun (Invel and Neinhart trying to start another war lmao). Aquarius’ key is somewhere out there. I want to hear more about how that works. Lucy has the broken key, so does a new one spawn after the old one is broken?

Glad to see Erza back in action. I need her to kick Kiria’s ass now because I can't stand to see her humiliated. Her new sword is pretty awesome. I thought it was a light saber at first though. (She mentioned it's a spell Wendy cast which doesn't make a ton of sense but okay) AND IT'S NAMED AFTER HER MOM?

I wish Kiria's magic was more interesting. She's a Blade Dragon Slayer, but she just kicks and punches all the time. It would be cool if her magic at least took the form of blade. I just think it looks generic and could be portrayed in a more unique way.

Fairy Tail finally getting some hit in on the Dragon Eaters finally. I like that it was due to them facing different opponents that they had an upper hand against and changing up their techniques (Wendy works better against Ash Magic, Natsu uses his heat instead of force against the Armor Dragon). I wish that was addressed a little more though. There is a viable reason that they were beaten before, but it comes off as character regression when it gets brushed under the rug. We know the Fairy Tail wizards are strong, so if they get beaten so easily, I think you should have a reason.

I love how I get back into Fairy Tail and the very next chapter of the 100 Year Quest is a chapter of my baby, Natsu, kicking ass and taking power in the fact that Lucy is someone who believes in him (oh, yes, I liked that particular choice of panelling).

Natsu, nakama speech, hints of Nalu, Jerza concsious and within each other’s presence, Natsu being a protective sweetheart for all of humankind...this chapter was made for me and it’s like a massive ‘welcome back’.
