IKE EVELAND

- The first time you ask to listen to a bedtime story, he's kind of shocked. Not in a bad way though, just surprised.

-> "eh?" His eyes widened, head tilting to the side and his lips pursing. He would hum and look around your room before shrugging. "I suppose I can read you one?" As you heard him say those words you nodded happily. He chuckles at the way you nod. "Okay, okay"

Outside, he's calm and composed, but on the inside, he's going crazy. He's screaming "oh my god" and "is this really happening right now?" Multiple times in his head, really happy that you initiated something.

As he reads the story, Ike would start to become more calm, savoring the interested face you were making as he read it. In addition to that, he would most definitely smile, either from seeing your sleepy face or exited face.

- Ike would definitely be the type to read it out really slowly, instead of mimicking the emotions too much, he would definitely read with a really gentle and soft voice, which you will definitely fall asleep to.

- And sometimes, depending on the story, he will slowly pat you on the head as he looks at your happy face while listening to him.

-> Your eyes start to flutter as you fall asleep. Ike, who had been looking at the book for about a minute, looks up to you and smiles softly. "Good night darling" he says as he kisses your forehead, slowly closing the book and leaving the room, being as quiet as possible as to not wake you up.

LUCA KANESHIRO

- This guy is almost the complete opposite of Ike, instead of being confused, or even thinking, Luca simply agrees and runs out to get a book.

-> "you want me to read you a bedtime story? Sure!" And before you could say anything, he immediately ran out with great speed, leaving you in the dimly lighted room alone. "Eh?" You mumble, not sure on what he was going to do.

After a few seconds of being left alone, you suddenly hear quick steps going towards your room. You turned your head towards the door and immediately, Luca was Infront of you. "hi! I got you this book!" He giggles, excitedly flipping through the pages of the book.

- Even when you were the one asking for a story, he would seem to be the one more excited. The second he's Infront of you again, he opens the book and flips through the pages, showing you all the illustrations, even almost spoiling the ending for you.

- Luca would most definitely use different voices for each character, especially if he sees a blonde girl. He'd definitely start talking like Lucy with a little more flair.

- Luca would smile as he sees you laugh or chuckle at his different impressions. When he sees you laugh and smile, he's suddenly reminded of just how much he loves you and would randomly hug you.

-> "(Name), I love you very much" he says as his big arms wrap around you. You were a little surprised at the sudden confession, but still accepted his hug and hugged back. "I love you too darling" you respond, a hand behind Luca's head, patting his head.

When Luca sees you already asleep, he smiles and slowly gets up, not forgetting to quietly close the book. Before he goes out of the room, he would contemplates if he should kiss you goodnight or not, as it might wake you up.

"Ah, whatever!" He says as he kisses your forehead and slowly goes out of the room.

SHU YAMINO

- Shu would be surprised, but in a good way, you know? Like he's surprised that you would ask that, after all, you're quite the mature person.

- When he hears your request he would smile softly and pat your head, tell you to sit on the bed and wait.

- While you wait, he might give you a drink, like milk or anything of that sort to keep you busy while he searches for the book.

-> "while you wait, here's a glass of milk, we need you to sleep after all, we can't have you awake after all the story can we?" Shu says as he shows you a smile. You nod enthusiastically and smile back.

As you laid back on your bed, you can see him slowly walk away while scanning the room. His steps slowly fade as his silhouette also starts to disappear from your sight.

As you took a sip from your mug of milk, you can feel every drop of it warming you up and calming you a little. And slowly, you could hear shu's footsteps come back.

- When he starts reading, you're already tucked in bed, making you feel warm and cozy.

- Instead of being too in character or being really soft, I feel like shu would place somewhere in the middle, in a sense that he still "talks" as the character, but isn't as into it as Luca would be.

- He would definitely be very aware of your expressions, again, in a good way! He'd try to make sure that you enjoy your storytime as much as you can!

When he's done reading, he would slowly put the book down and try to get a good look at you, making sure you're asleep before tucking you in more and going out of the room slowly, not forgetting to close the lights.

VOX AKUMA

- If you ever ask for a bedtime story, Vox is definitely your to go guy. This man is happy af. If you compare this man to when he works, it's as if he's a completely different person.

- Vox would basically be screaming just from his face. He's so happy that he might just start jumping around like a small child.

-> "really!?" Vox squeals like a little girl, his eyes seemingly popping out of it's sockets. Realizing his actions, he stops and clears his throat.

"I'm sorry, I meant really? You'd let me read a story for you?" He tries to sound more professional, but from his face, anyone could clearly tell he was exited to tell the story to you.

- Vox is definitely a luca-type guy. He would be so into character that he'd always start acting like the character, even when it's not their lines.

- Sometimes though, he would stop when he hears you chuckle, snicker, or laugh at his words and gestures. Because as long as you're happy, he's happy.

- He's glad that you enjoy listening to him acting out characters and reading you lines.

- When you start to fall asleep and your eyelids start to droop, he would take a look at you and smile softly.

- And when you finally fall asleep, he's already beside your bed, his hands softly fixing the position of your blanket.

- But ofcourse, he wouldn't forget giving you a goodnight kiss before he goes out of your room. He goes near your head and places a small kiss on your forehead and smile.

"Goodnight dear, hope you have good dreams." He would say and slowly back out of the room.

Screams. Screams are all Luca can hear as he looks around himself. His eyes desperately searching – yet he's surrounded by darkness. He grows frantic, hearing the voices of his sister– his friends– you; crying for help, begging for someone to save them. But he can’t move. His body is frozen in place. You need him. He has to– needs to move. He would do anything to help you all. But he can’t. Fucking. Move. The crying gets louder, multiple voices overlapping each other now.

Move. 

Move.

Lavender eyes shoot open, and his body moves on instinct, thrashing about as he reaches for the gun under his pillow. Except his hand comes up empty. The gun isn’t there. His already hurried breaths quickened, the air locked in his throat as his anxiety-ridden mind spiraled. Grasping at his chest, the blood rushing in his ears causes him to miss the voice desperately calling for him. 

You can feel your own panic brewing beneath your skin, unsure what to do; afraid that touching him might set him off more. You continue to call his name, easing your hand across the bed until it’s within his sight. It takes a couple of moments, but you can tell when he’s finally become aware of your presence. He blinked down at you before slowly turning his head to find you across from him.

His mouth opens and closes a few times, still unable to form words, but his arm finally slides out from beneath the pillow and reaches for you. As carefully as possible, you clasp both of your hands onto his, pulling it so it rests against your chest and he can feel the beat of your heart. He stares at his hand pressed against your skin, slowly processing everything before raising his eyes to meet yours. “It’s okay Luca. I’m here.” You say, trying to make your tone as comforting as possible. Once the first tear falls, more begin flowing. Luca’s quick to pull you to him; clutching onto you while burying his face into the side of your neck, hands gripping onto you desperately. Needs the physical confirmation that you're okay. That you are alive and healthy and here, with him.

You clutch onto him just as tightly, rocking the pair of you as you try your best to comfort him. “It’s okay Luca. Everything’s okay. You’re okay.” Allowing one of your hands to gently run over his hair and repeating the motion to ground him.

He chokes out your name, lips quivering as he still tries to regain his breath, “I–I couldn’t do anything. You–our, our friends–Lucy–I, you were hurting and I couldn’t–”

“Luca, it’s okay.” You squeeze your arm around him tighter, gently shushing him. “I'm safe and you're here with me, and I’m sure everyone else is safe, too.” You soothe, turning your head slightly to press kisses against his hair, continuing to rock him. “I’m safe. You’re safe. Everything's okay; I promise.”

The pair of you remain like that for a long while, but much to your relief, he eventually calms down. He can’t bring himself to pull away, your touch helping ward off the nightmare. Warmth reminding him that you’re in the same bed as him, alive and well. His voice is still shaky the next time he calls your name, and you respond with a hum. “Thank you.” Luca doesn't want to think about what could have happened if you hadn’t been there; probably would have caused his Lucubs a bit of panic.

“Of course. I’ll always try to be there for you. No matter where we are.” You press another kiss to the top of his head, tightening your arms around him.

“Same goes for me...” He reaches one of his hands up to lightly squeeze your arm, looking up at you from his place nuzzled into your shoulder. “I’ll… I will do my best for you too.”

This sorcerer has been through a lot, all of the boys have, but I feel as if despite how dangerous Shu's magic can be, he'd love doing little tricks to amuse and amaze you.

You'd be the only person to really see the darker side of him. On stream and with the rest of Luxiem, Shu is this pure innocent happy-go-lucky personality. But remember, he's human too, he has darker days and bad moments. It takes a lot of trust for someone to open up in that state, but he can't shut you out, no matter how desperately he wants to sometimes. You make things better.

You two speak in 'eyyyyyyyy's and somehow understand each other. Like full blown conversations, in public, in call, during hangouts with the boys.

The moments before you both start your days, just waking up next to each other, held close to the others chest, hearing the rythmatic thumping of a heartbeat. It's times like these where Shu is grateful for a life in your eyes, a life where he's happy.

Luca Kaneshiro:

The world is cruel. It's something Luca has to deal with on a daily basis, both in his original timeline, and in this one. Despite being long disconnected from his mafia roots due to the time travel, the Kaneshiro name is still widely known and feared, just not to the same level it used to be. Due to this fact, he continues to worry that he'll be found out as the lost leader, that Lucy might be the one in charge now and will continue to search for him. He doesn't want to drag you into that kind of life.

Due to his past, Luca feels the need to tell you everything, to warn you and train you in case something does happen. You're so important to him, he has stated multiple times that if he hadn't met you, he doesn't know where he'd be. Probably back in the mafia, duh.

Surprisingly very calm around you, the exact opposite of his normal persona. He's still very excitable and golden retriever like, but it's tamer when it's just the two of you. He's similar to a lovesick puppy, lounging on the small loveseat in your shared apartment, one hand combing through his golden locks as he rambles about something he did with the rest of Luxiem, eyelids beginning to lull as you hold him close, a smile gracing your features as his breathing evens out and he succumbs to slumber.

Living life like a fairytale isn't smart, anyone could tell you that. But when Ike first met you, he was sure you were a royal figure that had stepped right out of his books. Your soul was so pure, your smile so soft and kind, it was as if you had left the safe life in the pages to walk alongside him. Your prince charming, your knight in shining armor. And he would treat you as such, royalty.

He'd write stories upon stories of how you changed his life, and how he wishes to change yours as well, in a good way. Every important date such as birthday, holiday, or anniversary, he would gift you a new story, a new snippet or chapter of your relationship, set in a fanciful world where you both play out those parts of royalty and their loyal knight or prince.

Until you came along. You found Mysta when he first transported to the future, rambling to him about how he looked exactly like this famous detective from the 60s. It was now his turn to surprise you as he was that detective.

He'd spend days, months even, telling you about every little detail regarding his work, smiling brightly at the fact he finally had someone to talk to about this. And assuming since you knew of him, you knew of his cases too. He couldn't be happier to have you in his life. He vows to you that should anything happen, such as being transported back to his timeline, he will spend his life finding a way back to you.

It's well known that Vox doesn't have the happiest past. It took years for him to be able to accept another into his life, the images and screams of his clan still haunting his dreams, leading to endless sleepless nights. When he first laid to rest beside you, he assumed you were magic, the nightmares and pleas for help nowhere to be heard. It was as if fate had lead you to him, in his eyes at least.

Similar to Shu, I can see Vox using his powers to show you some of his favorite parts of the past, weather it be through a trance due to his voice or using demonic energy to conjure up an image or replica of said moment or item. Seeing the look of awe in your eyes was enough to warm his heart, the dull pain lessening as he's able to share his life with you.

It's also well known that a certain demon slayer is after him, even in present times. So imagine the surprise on Shoto's face when he sees the all powerful voice demon reduced to a pile of mush at the softest touch of your hand. There's nothing more amusing than seeing said demon and slayer turn to the exact opposite of what they're said to be. Shoto trapped in a fit of laughter as hearts seem to replace Vox's pupils, larger hand enclosing the soft fingers that resided on his cheek.

I always find real ppl to reference and steal features from when I'm figuring out how to draw characters and it tends to be easier when they're like known models/actors/etc just so I can have a name and look up pictures w varying angles n whatnot. I can start with a general idea of someone and run with it and find reference along the way but sometimes I gotta start with reference and work backwards

like I'm still kinda figuring out Jubilee and I've landed on a lot of reference pictures of Lucy Liu and Faye Wong when looking for inspiration. Two Chinese women whose careers were established in the 1990s. kinda perfect fits for her! plus I gave her the lil beauty mark that Kevin Wada gives her :)

for akihiro I reference a lot of vintage irezumi and yakuza photography. I'm still kind of figuring out how I want his face to be so I've been doing studies of Takeshi kaneshiro and toshiro mifune bc I kinda wanna find a middle ground between "prettyboy" face and "ruggedly handsome" face for him if that makes sense.

Laura's references are all over the place. Sade, Cher, Winona Ryder, a lot of 70s sukeban (delinquent) girl photography, early 2000s Mexican alt fashion photography. More of a vibe for her ig bc I have a better sense of her face in my head (she is my blorbo forever and ever)

[ she/they, queer ] greetings to all of our listeners! we start today’s potterwatch with a long-awaited update on lydia mai longbottom who was finally spotted alive just last night, wandering the streets of london. for those of you who haven’t tuned in before, they are a 22 year old pureblood wix who is oddly reminiscent of primrose everdeen, beth march, and lucy pevensie, which makes sense considering their idealistic, compassionate, conscientious, over-compensating, naive, and self-conscious nature. you might know of them as the adopted child of neville longbottom and hannah abbott, and we’re sure that their family will be relieved to hear they’re safe and sound — or at least as much as you can be, in times like this. to all our listeners, if you catch a glimpse of someone who looks a bit like that muggle kaylee kaneshiro, that’s them. before approaching, please be aware that they’re rumored to be affiliated with the order of the phoenix, so best proceed with caution. these are dangerous times we’re living in. well, thanks for tuning in, folks. we’ll play ourselves out with smother by daughter. lydia was the last adopted longbottom child, around when she was four or so. most people don’t know this about her, but her parents were incredibly loyal death eaters who had sworn themselves to voldemort and the cause. they were killed when the order raided a death eater safehouse, and then neville ended up finding her hiding in the ruins, so small and frightened, and, obviously, the order wasn’t about to let an innocent child (now a war orphan) get killed or harmed, so the longbottoms ended up taking her in and raising her as their own. lydia was obviously very shell-shocked, terrified, and griefstricken at first ��� too young to really know what was happening – but neville and hannah were very kind and patient with her. while it took some time, she eventually let them in.

she doesn’t remember much before she was adopted by the longbottoms – she doesn’t KNOW much to be honest – she was a small child – but the hardest thing for her to grapple with was the knowledge that she came from evil – from people who were inarguably dark and twisted, who were murderers and torturers. but the strange thing is, she remembers very little, but she does remember this: they loved her. they loved her in a very different way than hannah and neville do – hannah and neville have always showered her with love and affection, a better and purer sort of love, but something lydia remembers very poignantly is that, as her biological mother was dying, she begged through tears that the order please, please not hurt her baby. she’s struggled to understand it, how they could be filled with both so much love and hatred at the same time, and she still doesn’t understand it truly.

the fact that lydia came from evil but was raised by good has made her quite a complicated person. she has an inferiority complex and deep problems with perfectionism, worrying that deep down there must be something dark inside of her. but to prove that there isn’t – that her parents made the right decision in adopting her – she tries her hardest to please everyone around her, to the point where she’ll make herself deeply unhappy in her overcompensation.

the real reason why she’s so vehement in believing that there’s good in everyone and pushes people so hard with blind loyalty is because of her biological parents. she thinks about them a lot, and she wonders if anything could’ve saved them. somewhere deep down, she knows that they were too far gone, but she doesn’t want to believe it because what does that mean about her, if she came from them? and if some people are irredeemable, how does it make any sense that they cared for her and loved her? how does it make any sense that she still feels compassion towards them (even if she loves hannah and neville much more)? she doesn’t want to believe that there’s something wrong with her, that she’s evil, but sometimes she really truly feels that way. and to hide that, again, she overcompensates! she’ll believe in anyone because it’s easier than properly addressing her fears and insecurities about herself.

she can’t cast offensive magic because she’s terrified of herself and her capabilities. it's just not in her. she wants to heal, to defend, to do good, to save people instead of harming them. that’s all she’ll allow herself to do. whenever she tries to do offensive magic, there’s a mental block preventing her that she just can’t seem to overcome. obviously, she can’t duel and is rarely ever on the battlefield unless she ends up accidentally caught in the crossfire somehow. instead, she makes herself useful to the order through her powerful healing magic, protection magic, empathy magic, and defensive magic.

the reality is that that sort of her magic is not her natural strength, but she’s very diligent and has worked so hard at it that it appears to be effortless. in truth, her offensive and dark magic is naturally and innately much stronger than her defensive, protection, and healing magic, especially considering her parentage, but she’s terrified of herself and her capabilities. she wants to be like her mother, hannah – she wants to heal instead of destroy, and she knows that it’s the right thing to do. so even though she would have a natural affinity for offensive magic and the dark arts if she would let herself cast it, she’s terrified of exploring it to the point where her brain outright refuses it. she has almost died on some occassions due to her refusal to fight, harm, or kill. she knows that she has to get over this mental block somehow if she wants to be truly useful to the order, but she’s still so frightened by all of this.

lydia loves her adopted parents and family, but sometimes, she can't help but long to see her biological parents alive again. she never expresses this feeling out of crippling guilt. of course, neville and hannah are her real parents, and the longbottoms are her real family. however, she can't help but miss them at times. who wouldn't wonder? she also thinks about her biological family often, longing to know if any of them are still out there, even though she knows that if any of her biological relatives are still alive, they are most likely death eaters too. part of her wonders if she could save them somehow, like the longbottoms saved her.

she is the youngest longbottom and adores all of her siblings so much. she used to follow them around when she was younger like an annoying little sibling. in all honesty, she still kind of does. it definitely shows that lydia’s the youngest too – overall, she’s been somewhat sheltered by her family, especially because of what her childhood was like. neville and hannah especially try to protect her innocent worldview, regarding it as miraculous in a world this cruel.

along with chronic depression and anxiety, lydia grapples with c-ptsd that stems from her early life, but she’s blocked out most of her memories as a coping mechanism. while her parents did love her, it was a very toxic, unhealthy, and destructive sort of love, and deep down, some part of her is at least subconsciously aware of this. there was a lot of neglect there, and they absolutely would’ve corrupted her if she had been raised by them. lydia sees the world and the people in it through rose-colored glasses because if she were to let that illusion shatter, she would crumble under the weight of it all.

she despises the dark arts, violence, and murder, but at the same time, she doesn’t believe that anyone is beyond saving. she thinks that there’s good in everyone, and it just needs to be brought out. she’s very much a believer in restorative justice. in lydia's mind, anyone can change if they’re just willing to try and are given the proper chance to be better, and thus, she’s willing to take a chance on anyone. she knows she’s not a fighter, but a part of her wonders if she could draw people away from the death eaters just by showing them the same compassion she was shown by the longbottoms. while many in the order might see this as a fool's errand, she can't help but feel like it’s worth a try to see if she can lead some death eaters towards redemption, to show them it is possible to be good. a moralistic healer, lydia can’t stand the idea of taking a life because it would go against everything she believes in. if she saw a death eater who was about to die, she would readily heal them because, at the end of the day, she’ll never stand by and just let someone die when she can do something about it. she won't have their blood on her hands. but as a non-combatant, lydia is rarely ever caught in the fray and has not come across as many death eaters as other order members.

she’s really insecure and self conscious about herself, and it’s caused her to develop a lot of perfectionistic tendencies. when she can’t live up to her incredibly unrealistic expectations of herself, she beats herself up about it. overall, she suffers from terrible imposter syndrome, which isn't helped by the knowledge that she is in some ways an imposter. as much as she wants to deny it, she is a child born from monsters. sometimes she can't help but feel like she doesn't fit into her family as lucky as she is to have them.

she tends to push herself too hard and overcompensates to feel better about herself. she’s very much a people-pleaser to the point where it’s detrimental to her wellbeing. she just wants to make everyone around her happy, but in turn, it makes her very easy for people to take advantage of her. honestly, she can be incredibly naive and too easily trusting. she’s very idealistic and likes to see the best in people (especially the ones she’s close to). she can be blindly loyal and isn’t good at admitting other people’s faults, but at the same time, she’s really and unfairly critical when it comes to herself.

she tries to push her friends and family to be the best they can be. it must be rather annoying for them at times because she just believes in people so much and often pushes them to do things they’re not actually capable of. and of course, some people are beyond saving, but she doesn’t really recognize that because she thinks that there must be some good in everyone even if a person is clearly a lost cause. 

she’s such a goodie-two-shoes and, honestly, very straight laced as well. she's never smoked or tried drugs, and she rarely ever drinks. she followed the rules to a tee when she was younger and was teased in school because she was so tightly wound when it came to going against authority. she took the fact that her father was the headmaster very seriously and always felt really anxious over the idea of getting into trouble for any reason. back in school, she was an overachiever and a model student, receiving excellent marks in most subjects. she also managed to get her prefect badge just like hannah did, something she was very proud of. all-in-all, she’s just not very good at letting loose. you can see this in how tightly she ties the ribbons in her hair and carefully irons her clothes.

she didn’t stand up for herself very much when she was younger, and honestly, she still has some problems doing so today, hating the idea of conflict. but as she's grown older, she's started to learn how to bite back, just a bit. she has always been really set in her beliefs though, and she’s stubborn and determined – it’s just in a quiet sort of way. and she can be brave, she’s learned. it’s just a different sort of bravery than the other people around her. she’s not ostentatious about it, but she’ll remain steadfast in her beliefs. she has good morals instilled within her and will always try to do the right thing.

she’s really good at taking care of other people, but oftentimes, she forgets to take care of herself and never seems to put herself first. she can often be found at the phoenix nest, working into the late hours of the night, willing to forgo sleep if it means helping a patient. although she's still training to be a proper healer, she's taken it upon herself to try to be a comforting presence to the dying, letting them squeeze her hand and mumble senselessly as their grip on the world fades away.
