My forever bestfriend
I shed a few tears writing this. I hope you like it!
It had been a long day at the Mid-Wilshire police station. Lucy had recently received a Golden Ticket and after a few days, she chose to become a detective in the Juvenile Division after realizing that undercover work wasn’t made for her. Ever since dating Tim, undercover work stopped making sense to her. The Juvenile Division made perfect sense for her because of what some coworkers had deemed her superpower — her empathy.
Yet, it had been a draining day. She faced hard cases after the other and after days of doing overtime, she needed some time alone. She texted Tim to let her know she had to make a stop before coming back home before she headed to the cemetery. She slowly walked through the cemetery until she reached Jackson’s headstone. She smiled weakly as she sat down, tears immediately falling down her face. It had been a long time since her last visit. Work had been so busy that she never found the time to visit her best friend. It had been 5 years since Jackson’s death, yet it still felt like yesterday. She could still hear his voice at times or picture his reactions in certain situations. Saying she misses him would be an understatement. Life was unfair. “Hey Jackson.” Lucy said as she wiped her tears away, staring at his name and the fresh flowers in front of her. “I’m sorry I haven’t visited in a while. Work has been insane. I actually got a golden ticket recently and became a Detective in the Juvenile Division. It’s been a lot but I am very happy. I know I said for the longest time that I wanted to become an undercover cop but it didn’t make sense, Jackson. I can’t do that to Tim, and it’s honestly too dangerous.” She said, letting out a sigh. She swore that she could sense his presence and closed her eyes for a few seconds, embracing the silence. “Speaking of Tim, we got engaged last weekend. I know you weren’t too far, I sensed your presence and made the moment even more special. He is my everything. I know that you would tease me, and you would be absolutely right! Can you remember how much I complained about him during our rookie year? and how he absolutely drove me crazy?” She let out a wet giggle. “He is the love of my life and my biggest supporter. He has grown so much since I have met him and I am sure you would absolutely love him. I… I actually am keeping a little secret and I wanted you to be the first to know.” She said as she placed a hand on her small stomach bump. “I found out I was pregnant today. I had been sick for a few days and didn’t think much of it, yet after talking to Angela, I decided that maybe taking a test would be worth it and it definitely was. I can’t wait to tell Tim. He has been waiting for this moment for so long… Other than that, everyone is doing well. Baby Jackson is turning 5 in a few weeks and I’m in charge of organizing his birthday party. Angela and Wesley have faced some hardships lately, struggling to deal with their jobs and kids but they figured it out. Your parents have been amazing and become my parents in some way… We constantly talk about you, your dad is retiring soon. He realized how precious life is and that he wants to enjoy every second possible. I think I’m going to ask your dad to walk me down the aisle since my parents rejected me.”
It slowly became darker outside as the sun was setting. She felt her phone buzz as Tim texted her to check if she was okay. She knew she had to get going and got up, not really wanting to leave. “I miss you, Jackson. It has been really hard recently… I’m going through every life event we once dreamed about together and it has hit me all at once. You should be here with us, life is unfair. I forget your voice sometimes and have to listen to videos for hours to make sure I won’t forget it again. I love you and I promise I will visit you soon okay?” She put a hand on his headstone and gave it a weak smile before she suddenly felt two arms wrapped around her from behind. She immediately relaxed, knowing it was Tim. Tim placed a kiss on her head as he held her close to him, rocking her gently to soothe her. “Come on baby, let’s get you home. It’s been a long day. See you soon, Jackson.” He whispered before walking with her to his truck.

When you and Tim arrive at the station in the early morning, almost simultaneously, the air tingles with excitement.
Your arms are loaded with coffee cups, and as you struggle with the door, Tim effortlessly steps forward, his hand finding its place on the small of your back as he holds the door open, guiding you inside and allowing you to score another point.
A rush of warmth floods through you at his touch, but you quickly push the feeling aside, burying it beneath layers of familiarity and friendship. With a proud smile, you stride inside, leading the way.
You and Tim go way back—to those academy days when the competition between you two was as fierce as it was playful. That bond has stuck like glue through all the twists and turns of life, making you each other's ride-or-die. But to everyone else, it's crystal clear there's more brewing between you two than just a regular friendship.
Angela, Lucy, and Nolan greeted you with warm smiles as you approached, carefully balancing the steaming morning fuel. Tim lingered close behind, his grumpiness belying the playful twinkle in his eyes.
You handed out the coffees, your smile widening as Tim stepped forward to claim his cup. But before he could reach for it, you pulled it back with a mischievous grin.
"You're late, Bradford," you teased.
Tim's lips quirked into a half-smile as he reached for the cup, his fingers brushing against yours for a fraction of a second longer than necessary.
"62 to 58, you're getting lazy," you added.
"I'm not lazy," he retorted, his tone playful but firm. "I got stuck in traffic."
You rolled your eyes at his excuse, but the warmth in your chest told you that you wouldn't have it any other way.
Tim's got this tough-guy act going on, but deep down, he's got a soft spot for your sunshine personality, that smile of yours that could light up a room, and how you're always there for everyone. He won't come out and say it, claiming he's a man and men don't have BFFs, but deep down, you mean the world to him. He'd take a bullet for you in a heartbeat, no questions asked.
Whenever you're around, Tim's whole attitude changes. That grumpy exterior melts away, replaced by this warmth in his eyes that's just for you. You bring out a side of him that most people never see, and he treasures every moment he gets to spend with you. He might not say it out loud, but his actions scream it - you're not just his friend or colleague; you're everything to him.
When Tim glanced at his coffee cup and spotted the name Loser,he couldn't help but suppress a chuckle behind a façade of annoyance. "Seriously?" he grumbled, holding the cup up for you to see.
You just flashed him an innocent smile, grabbing his arm and guiding him towards the locker room to get ready for the shift.
"You and I, Bradford, we'll have so much fun together at the spa," you teased.
"Don't get your hopes up, Bug," Tim retorted, though there was a hint of fondness in his tone.
As you both walked away, Angela watched with a knowing smile. She had seen firsthand how your friendship with Tim had evolved over the years, and she knew there was something more between you two. She had watched as you both danced around your feelings, too afraid and too proud to admit the truth.
Angela turned to Lucy and Nolan, curiosity gleaming in her eyes. "What's the score?" she inquired, eager to know the latest update on the ongoing competition.
Lucy shrugged, "I'm not sure. Lost count at 45 to 53."
"It's not that bad in 12 years," he remarked, his eyebrows shot up in surprise.
Angela's lips curved into a mischievous smile. "Try 4 days," she enjoyed the shock that spread across John's face at her revelation.
"What could possibly be the prize?" Lucy's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Tickets to the season end game for Tim and a spa day at Four Seasons for Y/N."
Lucy's jaw dropped, "That's pretty expensive."
"Yeah, they had 10 years to level up the game. Five more and the loser is gonna pay for the wedding," Angela teased, nodding in agreement.
Lucy's mind started to race, a hint of speculation in her voice. "Wait, their wedding?" she paused, her expression thoughtful. "You don't think...?"
Angela rolled her eyes, dismissing Lucy's suggestion with a sarcastic tone. "That they're both stupid and love each other? No," she retorted, making it clear that the reality was far simpler. "They are going together either to the game or spa."
Lucy nodded in understanding, piecing together the situation. "Obviously it's a date but can't decide where to go."

As the day stretches on, the radio comes to life once again, dispatcher's voice cutting through the quiet of the shop.
"Attention all units in the area, we have a report of a stolen vehicle in progress. Last seen heading east on 5th Street. Suspect described as male wearing a red hoodie, driving a black sedan. License plate 7-Mike-India-John-2-5-9."
Nolan's eyes meet yours, both of you immediately springing into action. "You heard the lady," you say, already reaching for the radio to confirm your response. "Let's go, Nolan. We've got a car to find."
With Nolan at the wheel, you scan the streets, eyes darting from one alley to the next, searching for any sign of the stolen car. Tim's shop trails closely behind, the tension palpable as you both race against the clock.
"Two points for the first one to get the suspect in custody," Tim challenges through the radio.
You can't help but fire back, a smirk evident in your tone. "Afraid you're gonna lose the football game, Bradford?"
Suddenly, you spot the stolen car ahead, "There it is!" you exclaim, urgency lacing your voice as you urge Nolan to step on the gas.
"Go, go, go! We've got 'em!" you exclaim, your heart pounding with adrenaline as Nolan accelerates, closing the distance between you and the suspect.
"Take the next left. We can cut them off at the intersection!" you shout, your voice filled with adrenaline-fueled excitement.
Nolan follows your instructions without hesitation, the shop skidding around the corner with precision as you close in on the stolen vehicle. With a burst of speed, you pull up alongside the suspect's car, effectively blocking their path and forcing them to come to a halt.
With adrenaline coursing through your veins, you swiftly exit the shop as Tim parks his car behind the stolen vehicle and sprints towards the suspect, but you're already a step ahead.
You draw your gun and level it at the suspect. "LAPD! Hands where I can see them!"
But then, you turn to Nolan with a knowing smile. "Officer Nolan, you have the honor," you declare, your tone proud as you watch him take charge.
Your rookie approaches the stolen car, his gun held steady as he orders the suspect out of the vehicle. "Get out. Put your hands on the hood."
With Nolan taking control of the situation, you turn your attention back to Tim, who's watching you from a few feet away. As your eyes meet, a sense of satisfaction washes over you, knowing that you've once again proven yourself in front of Tim.
"64, Bradford," you call out, "Start to think you really want that spa day."
Tim chuckles, a grin spreading across his face as he closes the distance between you.
"Don't get too cocky, Bug," he replies, "Day's not over yet."
You hold your head up high, meeting Tim's gaze with a determined look of your own as you watch Nolan take the suspect in custody.
"You're slipping, Bradford," you tease, your voice laced with amusement. "Better step up your game if you want to win those tickets."
Tim chuckles, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he leans in closer. "Careful, Bug." he murmurs, "Wouldn't want to get too comfortable in first place."
You raise an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of your lips. "Oh, I don't know," you shoot back, "I'm starting to think you enjoy being one step behind."
Tim's grin widens, his gaze never leaving yours as he leans against the patrol car. "Maybe I just like the view from back here."
You can feel your cheeks flush at his words, a soft laugh escaping your lips as you playfully shove his shoulder. "Smooth, Bradford."
Tumblr media
Sergeant Grey lays down the rules at the Shadow Hills Shooting Range and you can feel the tension crackling in the air, mingling with the smell of gunpowder and sweat. Tim's presence beside you only adds to the intensity, his handsome, serious face and confident attitude drawing your attention like a magnet. You silently scold yourself for those thoughts. The earlier banter and Tim's remark about liking the view from behind made you question — again, after a long time of pushing down the feelings that blossomed for him — whether it can be something more between the two of you.
As Officer Dixon explains the rules, your eyes meet Tim's, a silent challenge passing between you. The competition is on, and neither of you is willing to back down.
With your heart pounding in your chest, you take aim at the target, your fingers steady on the trigger. But as you line up your shot, you can't help but steal a glance at Tim, his muscles flexing beneath the fabric of his uniform, his eyes focused and intense.
For a moment, you're distracted by the sight of him, the raw power and masculinity emanating from his every move. But then, you shake off the momentary lapse in focus, reminding yourself of the task at hand.
As the shots ring out, you and Tim fire with precision, each round hitting its mark with deadly accuracy. The tension between you is palpable, a silent battle of wills playing out on the firing range.
And when the last shot is fired and the smoke clears, you can't help but smirk triumphantly at Tim, your cocky grin mirroring his own. Despite the intensity of the competition, there's an undeniable attraction simmering beneath the surface—a spark of something more that threatens to ignite with every passing moment.
"Not bad, Bradford," you tease, "But I think I've got you beat this time."
But as Tim catches your gaze, his eyes lingering on you for a moment too long, you quickly compose yourself, the thrill of the competition still coursing through your veins.
"Care to make it interesting?" he murmurs, "20 bucks and 6 points if your Boot makes it out on top?"
Sergeant Grey calls the rookies to the firing line and Tim leans in close, his breath warm against your ear as he whispers teasingly. A shiver runs down your spine at the intimate contact, but you push it aside one more time. You can't resist the challenge, a grin tugging at the corners of your lips as you accept.
"I'll take that bet."
"Me too," Angela chimes in.
With the bet made, the three rookies take their positions and prepare to fire. Officer Dixon gives the signal, and they begin shooting at the targets.
But just as the competition heats up, Nolan's attention wavers, distracted by something in his peripheral vision. He stops shooting, his gaze fixed on whatever has caught his eye, and Grey barks at him to focus.
"Nolan!"
You shake your head in disbelief, frustration bubbling up as you realize your chance of winning the bet slipping away because of your rookie's distraction. Glancing over at Tim, you can't help but feel a pang of disappointment, knowing that this time, luck might not be on your side.
As Grey announces the results, everyone is waiting with bated breath to hear who will come out on top.
"So, finishing first with the most hits, fastest time, and tightest grouping... Officer Chen. Congrats. You are the new Mid-Wilshire champ," Grey declares, the sound of cheers and applause filling the air as Lucy accepts her victory.
Tim smirks as he collects his winnings from you and Angela, a playful glint in his eyes as he leans in closer, his lips dangerously close to yours and you can't help but hold your breath, aware of the eyes watching your every move.
"Looks like we're going to the game," Tim murmurs, his voice low and intimate.
You meet his gaze, a smirk playing at the corners of your lips. "Uh-huh, Bradford. We're tied. Spa still has a chance," you retort, your tone teasing despite the flutter of anticipation in your chest.
Grey's voice cuts through the air, bringing your attention back to the present. "Bradford, Y/L/N, you both tied for second," he announces, his words punctuating the moment with a sense of finality.
You can't help but groan in mock frustration, shooting Tim a playful glare. "I don't know what I hate more—tying for second with you or losing to a rookie."
Tumblr media
As the weekend arrives, you and Tim find yourselves honoring the bet. With the score tied, you decide to indulge in both activities—starting with a relaxing day at the spa and ending with watching the big end-season game at Tim's place.
The scent of lavender filled the air as you and Tim relaxed in plush robes, sipping on refreshing cucumber water and enjoying the soothing ambiance of the spa. With each gentle stroke of the masseuse's hands, you found yourself drifting into a state of bliss, the worries of the week melting away.
After the spa, you and Tim retreated to his apartment, settling in for a cozy evening. Beers in hand, you lounged on the couch, the warmth of Tim's presence beside you sending a pleasant tingle down your spine.
But just as you start to enjoy the easy rhythm of the evening, there's a knock on the door, interrupting the peace.
Tim's expression darkens as he goes to answer it, clearly not pleased by the unexpected visitor. To his surprise—and evident displeasure—it's Lucy.
But despite his less-than-enthusiastic reaction, you quickly stand up, putting on a welcoming smile as you greet Lucy and invite her in. "Hey, Lucy! Come on in," you say, motioning for her to join you on the couch. "Want a beer?"
Tim's annoyance is palpable as he glances between you and Lucy, clearly not pleased by her unexpected visit. But you ignore his displeasure, focusing instead on making Lucy feel welcome and enjoy the football game.
“Hey, did you see—?”
Tim turns his head to make a comment about the play, but Lucy suddenly moves beside you, forcing you to shift quickly. Unaware of the short distance between you and Tim, you find yourself turning your head towards him, trying to give him your undivided attention.
Your faces are mere inches apart—lips almost touching, gazes locked in a heated exchange. Time seems to stand still as you linger in the charged silence, the air thick with anticipation and unspoken desire.
In that fleeting moment, every nerve in your body is alive, your heart pounding in your chest as you drown in the intensity of Tim's gaze.
His eyes seem to search yours, as if seeking permission to bridge the small gap that separates you. And for a heartbeat, you entertain the possibility—allowing yourself to imagine what it would feel like to lean in and capture his lips with your own.
But just as quickly as the thought crosses your mind, reality comes crashing back, and you pull away, retreating into the safety of your own space.
“More beer?”
Lucy makes her way to fetch more drinks, handing the popcorn to Tim. You seize the opportunity to lean back on the couch as you inch closer to the bowl in Tim's lap.
His hand instinctively wraps around you, pulling you close and your head finds its way to his shoulder, the warmth of his body seeping into your own. Tim's gaze falls upon you, his eyes softening as he takes in your closeness.
For a brief moment, you allow yourself to revel in the intimacy of the gesture, the world falling away as you lose yourself in the warmth of Tim's embrace. But as quickly as the moment began, it shatters, broken by the sound of Tim clearing his throat and shifting away, placing the popcorn bowl between you. creating a physical barrier.
When the final buzzer sounds, signaling the victory of your favorite team, you and Tim shoot up from the couch in excitement. Turning to each other, your eyes meet in a silent exchange, the unspoken tension between you crackling in the air. And then, without a word, Tim pulls you into his arms, the heat of his body searing against your own as you melt into his embrace.
In that moment, nothing else matters—not the game, not the world outside—only the two of you, wrapped up in each other's arms. For a split second, you allow yourself to surrender to the intoxicating rush of desire, the walls around your heart crumbling in the face of the overwhelming connection between you.
But as quickly as it began, the moment passes, and you find yourselves pulling away, the weight of your unspoken feelings hanging heavy in the air.
Lucy watched with growing frustration, unable to bear witness to your dance of denial any longer. With a determined glint in her eye, she finally snaps, her frustration boiling over into a burst of blunt honesty.
"Okay, I'm sick of this," she begins, "You're so blind and stubborn."
You and Tim both turn to her with confusion, unsure of what she's getting at. But before either of you can respond, Lucy cuts through the tension.
"Just kiss already, you stupid," she exclaims, her frustration bubbling over into exasperation.
And in that moment, something shifts. Tim's resolve crumbles, his feelings finally breaking free from the confines of his heart. Without hesitation, he leans in and captures your lips in a searing kiss.
It's everything you've ever imagined—and more. His lips are warm and soft against yours, fitting perfectly as if they were always meant to be there. Every touch, every caress sends sparks flying, igniting a firestorm of passion that threatens to consume you both.
You pull away quickly when you realized the kiss was evolving into something that shouldn't be happening in front of Lucy. With a smirk playing at the corners of your lips, you tease Tim.
"Was about time, Bradford," you quip, "Took you more than a decade to kiss me."
Tim, caught off guard by your boldness, can only manage a sheepish grin in response.
"Didn't know you wanted me to do that," he admits, his eyebrows rising with surprise.
"Yes! Mom and dad are finally together," she cheers, her eyes shining with excitement and a proud smile spreading across her face as she revels in the success of her matchmaking efforts.
But Tim's grumpiness returned in an instant as he realizes Lucy was watching their intimate moment.
"Chen, get out," he grumbles as he gestured toward the door.
Undeterred, Lucy flashes a teasing smile at both of you before opening the front door of Tim's house. "Yes, sir," she teases, her playful tone undercutting the seriousness of Tim's command. Before disappearing behind the closed door, she offers one last remark.
"Be safe," Lucy calls out.
"Fifty pushups before every call tomorrow!" Tim declares, his attempt to regain control of the situation falling flat in the wake of Lucy's teasing.
With a pleading look, Lucy turns to you, her eyes silently begging for your intervention. "Mom?"
You meet her gaze with a reassuring smile, knowing that you can't save her from Tim's grumpiness but offering a comforting presence nonetheless. "Good night, Lucy," you say gently.

Shit.
“Fuck,” you whispered to yourself, your mind racing to a million thoughts. The sound of a million voices rang through your ears as you entered the building, but that was all an exaggeration, it was only a room with maybe a good thirty people.
Spending your lunch period at the police station was the last thing you wanted to do, but you were desperate and eager to find that familiar face. You knew Rachel hung around the police station when she wasn’t in her office, whether it was for work or personal, this had to be the place she was gonna be at.
Walking up to the front desk, anxiously tapping your fingers on the counter catching the lady behind the counter's attention. The lady’s eyes landed on your fingers, “Can I help you, hon?”
you clenched your fingers to your palm, “Sorry,” you gave her an apologetic smile.
She smiled, “I get it, police stations give lots of people anxiety. What can I help you with today?”
You were quick to notice police officers standing near the counter looking through files and some sitting down and typing away on a computer. “I- Um, I’m looking for Rachel Hall. She’s a social worker and sometimes she’s here.”
“Rachel Hall,” the receptionist repeated as she looked through the log-in log.
One of the officers quickly turned his head, “You’re looking for Rachel?” He asked.
You looked over at him, giving him a nod. “You know her, Officer Bradford?”
“Yeah, she’s… a friend. She’s actually here doing some paperwork.” He walked over to where you stood, “I can show you where she is.”
You gave him a hesitant nod, and he gave you a reassuring smile in return before thanking the receptionist and walking out of the room. You followed his lead, he turned to look over at you before asking, “So, how do you know Rachel?”
“She used to be my social worker before…” you trailed off, clearing your throat. “Doesn’t matter.”
Tim decided not to press on any further as he led you to a meeting room where a lot of social workers come to do wellness checks and supervised visitations, among many other things. He knew Rachel had been at the station for a supervised visitation, one that unfortunately had to be conducted within the police station for safety reasons. Thankfully, she was done with her visitation and was just finishing up on her paperwork before heading back to her office. Tim liked to believe she stayed longer just so she could see him or even catch a glimpse before she headed back out.
“Rachel!” You exclaimed, letting out a sigh of relief as Rachel quickly turned her head, surprised to see who had called her name.
“Y/N?” She got up from her seat, “What are you doing here?”
You walked over to Rachel, “I needed to see you, you’re the only one who would believe me.”
Rachel glanced at Tim who just gave her a shrug, “What’s going on?”
“I can’t stay at that house anymore, there has to be something you can do.”
Rachel sighed, “Y/N, I’m not your case worker anymore. Anything I do would get me in trouble.” As much as she wanted to do something, it would be putting her job on the line and it meant she wouldn’t be able to help other kids as well. She was already at risk for making a huge mistake on a case a couple weeks back.
Tears began to well up in your eyes, “I can’t stay there.”
“Y/N, why can’t you stay there?” Tim asked.
You glanced over at Tim, remaining silent. “Y/N, what did they do to you?” You didn’t respond, you had come here for help but the words had escaped you. You didn’t know how to tell the one person who helped you escape a hellish home a few months back, a home that almost cost her, her job; that the home she thought would be safe is far from it. “Did they hurt you?” Looking back at Rachel, you gave her a nod.
Rachel let out a shaky sigh, there were times when she lost hope for the system. This was one of those times. She looked over at Tim before looking over at you, “You have to tell Sasha, Y/N.”
“I did tell her!” You said in frustration, “But she hasn’t done anything! It’s like she doesn’t even care.” Rachel didn’t want to defend her friend's behavior, but this didn’t sound like her. At least not from how she knew her.
“I-I,” she sighed, “I can’t do anything Y/N.”
With pleading eyes, you gave her an understanding nod, “I just don’t want to go back there.”
Tim hated seeing this part of the job. Seeing how the system worked and how it meant that kids within the system went to homes that didn’t even care about their existence. “What if I did a wellness check?” Tim asked, “That way, I can come in and check on you, and then your foster parents will know that someone knows about the situation?”
“Like a scaring tactic,” Rachel added.
“Exactly, It’s not the best but it could help,” Tim tried his best to be hopeful.
It wasn’t what you wanted. It was far from it, actually, but beggars can’t be choosers. “Alright.”
Tim offered you a ride back to school and you accepted. The whole car ride back, you felt defeated, given that all you had received was damage control. Nothing could be done about your situation, not yet at least.
“So, what grade are you in?” Tim asked, trying his best to distract you from your thoughts.
“I’m a freshman.”
He nodded, “any thought about college yet?”
You shook your head, “even if I did, I doubt I would even be able to go.”
“There’s always scholarships,” he said with a hopeful tone.
“Did you go to college?” You asked.
“No, actually. I went into the military then I became a cop, obviously.” You nodded, “That could also be an option too.” You didn’t say anything in response, you drew attention back to the houses you passed by on the car ride. Tim cleared his throat, he knew what it was like to be in your shoes. Wishing for someone to help you from the people that were supposed to protect you. “So, what’s your story?”
“What’s yours?” you retorted.
Tim rolled his eyes, usually, he wouldn't have played this game. But something within him felt like you needed to hear his story, maybe it would you realize that everything could turn out okay, even if everything at the moment felt a little unsteady.
“I grew up with an abusive father, I spent most of my life fighting to survive.” He gave you a quick glance before focusing back on the road, “So I know what’s it like, to wish someone would just help, for someone to just take you away from the one place you’re supposed to feel safe in.”
You remained silent for the next few minutes, Tim groaned at the sigh of the traffic ahead of him. “We’re going to be here a while,” he commented.
You sighed, “my dad died in front of me,” you spoke up.
Tim glanced over at you, “my parents were high school sweethearts apparently and when my dad passed away, my mom couldn’t handle it. I’m sure if you went down skid row, you’d find her lying on the ground somewhere with a needle stuck in her arm. I’ve been in and out of foster homes since I was eight. My mom's been in and out of rehab since then.”
“That’s not easy,” Tim commented. He had a lot of things to say about how your mother handled things but to each their own. His heart ached at the thought that you didn’t have a good structure in your life.
“Nope,” you responded. “Rachel was the only one that ever did something to take me out of my previous foster home, even if it almost cost her job.”
“And now you feel like you’ve wasted all your resources.”
“Yeah,” you said softly. “Just five more years and I’ll be out of the system's hands.”
The traffic began to move again. Minutes later, Tim pulled into the school parking lot. “Before you go,” he began as he reached into his shirt pocket, took out a card, and handed it to you. “If you ever need anything and I mean anything, you give me a call.”
You took the card, giving him a small smile, “Thank you, Officer Bradford.” you got out of the shop, closing the door behind you. Giving Tim a small wave goodbye before you snuck back into campus.
Tim made it his personal assignment to check up on you from there on out, to make sure you were all right, not just for you but for Rachel too. It was the least he could do, even though everything within him wanted to do more. He wanted to save you from your personal hell, but it was impossible for him at the moment.
When he made it back to the station, Rachel was there waiting for him, “How’d it go?”
“I gave her my card, and told her she could call me if there’s anything she needed. I’ll do a wellness check before the end of my shift,” he stated.
“Thank you.” Rachel sighed, “She was one of my first cases, so she means a lot to me.” The two of them remained quiet for a moment, the situation between the two of them has been different since Rachel got a job in New York. “Promise me something?”
Tim looked up at her, “Anything.”
“Look after her for me? While I’m gone. She could use a guardian angel.”
Tim smiled, “Of course.” Tim couldn’t help but feel a dreading sensation within him, he hated that he couldn’t do more.
The weeks to come were difficult for Tim, with Rachel leaving and all the shit that went down within the station. He felt drained but didn’t show it. Tim needed a change within his life, something to make him work harder within his life. He had his dog and he was happy with his dog, but he still felt like he was missing something.
There were times when he couldn’t help but wonder if everything hadn’t happened with Isobel if they would have had children by now. What their life would have been like. That’s all he could think about, the what-ifs.
“Look, everyone has their first puppy, it’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Tim commented. Lucy, his boot, had been dealing with her first puppy as a rookie. He couldn’t help but tease her about it.
“Whatever,” Lucy brushed off.
Tim chuckled as he kept his focus on the street ahead of him. They were heading back to the station to end their shift. Tim was ready to go home and watch the game, to just relax for the next couple of days.
“Any plans for tonight?” Lucy asked.
“There’s a game on tonight.”
“Of course,” she rolled her eyes.
Once they arrived to the station, Tim was quick to do all his end-of-shift duties before clocking out. He groaned to himself as he stepped outside to be met with darkness. He hated how quick it was to get dark in the winter.
He got into his car and began his journey back home, listening to music on the way. He came to a slow stop as the light turned red, he glanced towards the sidewalk. It took him a second to process what he saw, he quickly took another look, “What the,” he muttered to himself. The light had turned green and the car behind him honked. Tim groaned and turned his signal light on before pulling off to the side.
Quickly getting out of the car, he tried his best to catch up to the person he had just seen, “Y/N!?” He asked.
You quickly turned around, “Shit,” you muttered under your breath.
“What are you doing out here?”
You held the strap to your duffle bag tighter, “Um, I-I I’m” Tim waited for you to come up with a good excuse, “I’m on my way home,” you smiled.
“Really?” You nodded, “then you wouldn’t mind if I gave you a ride?”
“Well-”
“Y/N,” he said sternly.
“Fine.”
Tim smiled, “let’s go.”
You followed Tim to his car, getting into the passenger seat as he waited until you had your seatbelt on before driving off. “How you’ve been?” He asked as he began driving in the direction he had just come from.
You sighed, “Fine.”
Tim sighed, “I know it’s been two weeks since I’ve done a wellness check.”
“I didn’t say anything about that.”
“I know, I just felt the need to apologize,” He reassured. “Have they-”
“If you’re gonna ask if they’ve hurt me, no. Not since you’ve seen me.”
“Good,” he responded.
“You can drop me off at the corner,” You commented.
“No, I’m going to drop you off in front of your house,” Tim stated. He knew what you were doing, you weren’t fooling him. You were walking the direction away from your home and you had a duffle bag. It was obvious.
He stopped in front of the house, “here you go,” he said with a smile.
You clenched your jaw, you hadn’t stepped foot in that house within a week. Going in now would be a death trap. You couldn’t do it, you couldn’t open the car door and get out of that house. Knowing that Tim would wait in his car until he saw you walk inside that house.
“Well?”
You sighed, feeling defeated. “Stop acting like you don’t know.”
“Where have you been staying?” You shrugged, “Y/N,” he said sternly.
“Under some bridge near Skid Row.”
“Near skid row!? Y/N!” He exclaimed, “do you have any idea how stupid that is?”
“I was desperate to get out!”
“This is the second house we’ve gotten you since I’ve met you, you know what Sasha said! It’s either this or the shelter.”
“And I chose neither!”
Tim pinched the bridge of his nose, “how long?”
“A week.”
Tim looked at her with wide eyes, “It rained for three days straight this past week!” He sighed, “I gave you my number so you could call me if you needed something and this is what you do.”
“I wasn’t gonna call you, so you could just have Sasha send me to another home that’ll treat me the same way.”
“What’s wrong with this one?” He asked as he sat back in his seat.
“Well, when you say it that way-”
He sighed, “I’m asking because I need to know.”
You rolled your eyes, “I caught him watching me…” you looked down at your hands.
“Watching you?”
“He watched me shower,” You hated how it made you feel, how you just felt exposed every time he would look at you, even if you had clothes on. Tim undid his seatbelt, “Please, don’t go in there.”
Tim wanted to disregard your request, but he knew the last thing you needed right now was for him to make things worse. It was an issue that would be dealt with tomorrow, for now, he needed to find you a place to stay. “You have a place to stay tonight?” You shook your head, “You do now,” he commented.
You gave him a confused look, “I have a guest bedroom, you can stay there tonight.”
“You don’t have to”
“I’m not letting you stay under some bridge near Skid Row nor am I letting you stay in that home. I’ll call Sasha in the morning, for now, you can have my guest room.”
You wanted to argue with him about how you could defend yourself, but who were you kidding. You’re only fourteen and let’s face the facts. You wanted to sleep in a warm bed.
The ride back to Tim’s place was quiet and usually, you hated it. The quiet meant you had time to be left alone with your thoughts, but for the first time in a while, your mind was at ease. The drive wasn’t long, Tim helped you carry your duffle inside his house. You heard the tapping of nails hitting the floor, and you were quickly greeted with paws on your chest and a tongue slobbering all over your cheek.
“Kojo, down!” Tim exclaimed and the dog quickly got down. “Sorry about Kojo.”
You couldn’t help but smile as you kneeled down next to the dog to give him some love, “you should’ve said you had a dog, I would’ve said yes a long time ago.”
Tim couldn’t help but smile as you giggled at Kojo’s antics, “Come on, let me show you where you’ll stay tonight.” He gestured for you to follow him.
You got up from your position next to Kojo and followed Tim down a short hallway, “Alright, the bathroom is the door at the end of the hallway, help yourself to whatever is in the fridge except for my beer. That is off limits, even if you were of age.” He placed your duffle on an ottoman that was placed at the end of the bed, “Do you need any essentials? Toothbrush, toothpas-”
“I have everything, thanks.” You took in the sight of the bedroom, out of all the rooms you had lived in, many in which you had to share with others, none compared to this one. This one felt inviting. It felt warm.
It felt different.
“Everything okay?” Tim asked.
You gave him a nod, “Yeah, perfect!”
“Alright, I’ll be in the living room watching a game that started an hour ago, if you need me. You hungry?”
“Nah, I’m good,” as if on cue, your stomach made a loud noise.
“it says otherwise,” Tim smirked, “I’ll order some pizza. I’ll let you get settled in, feel free to make yourself at home alright?”
You gave him a nod, watching as he walked out of the room. You weren’t sure what to do first, to unpack your things or take a shower. Should you unpack your things, if you were going to be sent somewhere else tomorrow? You let out a sigh, laying on the bed, you couldn’t help but wonder, What if you just stayed here instead?
No, you didn’t want to be more of burden to Tim than you already were. He had done enough for you and was already extending his kindness by letting you stay the night. No need to extend it any further. For now, you were going to allow yourself to enjoy this comfort. To enjoy the warmth of the invitation.

Smutober day 17: Lucy Chen x Male!reader - Undercover
Tumblr media
You and Lucy had been sent on an undercover job where you were currently stuck in a private plane headed to Vegas surrounded by gang members you tricked into letting you aid in their casino heist.
Lucy needed a moment to breathe so she takes your hand and guides you towards the planes bathroom.
“Where are you two going?” One of the guys asks.
“We're gonna get lucky before we even hit the casino,” she smirks.
Inside the bathroom Lucy lets out a deep sigh and you can see the tension in her shoulders.
“You good?” You ask her, placing a hand on her cheek and rubbing your thumb across her skin to comfort her.
“Yeah, just nervous,” she confesses.
“Hey you got this,” you say, kissing her sweetly, “and if you need us to be pulled out Angela, Tim and Nyla can fake arrest us at the casino.”
“No, no I'm okay,” Lucy assures you.
“Alright then,” you smile at her but as you go to open the door she stops you.
“Wait,” she says, “we're supposed to be hooking up in here.”
You raise an eyebrow at her, unsure if she's suggesting what you think she's suggesting and she grabs your neck and brings you in for a far more intense kiss.
She slips her hand in your pants groping your cock through your underwear.
“I can't believe we are actually doing this,” you chuckle.
“I need something to calm my nerves,” she grins at you.
You lift Lucy onto the sink as you make out, both of you shimmying out of the lower half of your clothes just enough that you can slip your now hard cock inside her.
She pounds her fist into the door and moans loudly making a show to keep your cover up to the guys outside which makes you laugh.
“I didn't know you were such the exhibitionist,” you tease as you find a steady rhythm that she likes.
“I'd rather be in here with you than out there with them making small talk until we land,” she replies, throwing her head back against the mirror.
You kiss at her neck and palm her chest through her shirt, Lucy still moaning loudly.
She reaches down and rubs firm circles over her clit, her legs wrapping tightly around your waist as she comes closer to her release.
With her legs spread wider you you can now fuck her from a new angle which makes her eyes roll back.
“Right there, right there,” she moans and she cums hard.
You let her ride out her high before pulling out of her when you feel your own orgasm nearing.
As much as you wanted to cum in or on her now was not the time or place so you step to the side and shoot cum into the sink.
“Damn that was hot,” she says as you start to clean up and make yourselves decent again.
“You feeling better?” You ask, noticing how much more relaxed she seemed.
“Much better,” she smiles.
“Good cause I think I just heard the pilot announce we’re about to land over the speaker,” you say.
“Let's go arrest some bad guys,” she says confidently, kissing you one more time.

Beneath Your Beautiful: Let Me Love You
Tumblr media
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you today,” she confesses, tipping her head back to meet his eyes and settling her hand on his chest in a way that gives life to a warmth radiating through his center. How is he supposed to function when every little thing she does has him feeling like he’s melting on the inside?
“Yeah, I got that from your 332 texts,” he teases gently as he brushes his thumb along her jaw. Lucy’s steady stream of memes and ridiculous ClipToks and random, entirely irrelevant facts about sea turtles had easily been the very best part of his day. Up until now that is.
She bites her lip, little lines forming between her brows, “Was it too much?”
He finds his focus drifting from the conversation as he allows a finger to continue the journey down her neck and along her collar, finally fully processing the feel of her silk robe under his hands, the deep red of her lips, and the picture perfect waves tumbling down over her shoulders.
“Tim,” a tinge of a whine enters her voice as she tries to draw his attention back to her question. But if it’s conversation she’s interested in, she has absolutely chosen the wrong outfit. He leans in for a better look — what exactly is that bit of lacy black fabric peaking out from the deep V-neck of her robe?

Maybe he was right...
This is my first fic in a long time so please, bear with me! I hope you like it.
--------
Post 6x03. Lucy thinks about her new career path after landing 17th out of 19th in the detective’s exam. Riding with Celina and Tim triggered some realization, especially remembering the discussion she had with Tim the day before the day of the exam.
Reading the list had been painful. The more she read the names on the list, the further down her eyes got. 17th. Unfortunately for her, this meant she only had a slim chance of ever making it in the career that she had worked so hard to get. The career path that had caused so many fights with her boyfriend and sleepless nights as she tried to get on top of potential wildcards for the oral exam. However, it also marked the end of the struggle. She was settled — she had to think about something else. She realized that a part of her felt rather relieved at the score. She had begun to feel doubts regarding undercover work. She talked to Chastity and Celina about her fight with Tim on the subject, with Chastity bringing a valuable point into the conversation.
“Yeah, well, undercover work is kind of scary and dangerous. Maybe he's not the only one that's scared of what might happen.” Chastity had told her, triggering Lucy to doubt her desires for a second before shifting the blame onto Tim.
She walked into the station with Tim that morning. Tim practically moved in with her, going to his place every now and then to feed and take care of Kojo. Tim became Celina’s training officer temporarily while Harper worked with detectives on a big case. She had been assisting him, enjoying spending time with her boyfriend as well as helping train Celina.
Officer Chen.” Sergeant Wade Grey called her. He had been by her side when she read the list after the exam. He witnessed her heartbreak yet knew that Lucy would succeed and thrive in anything else. She had so much potential, so much so that she reminded him of Captain Zoe Andersen. “Keep riding with Bradford and Juarez, okay? Be safe out there.” He told her, giving her a soft smile before heading into his office. Lucy quickly joined Tim and Celina in the garage, tagging along with them as they patrolled. The day had been rather busy, with a few high-value calls that proved to be the perfect learning opportunities for Celina. As always, Tim played the rough T.O., while Lucy offered a softer perspective. Yet, both proved to be effective on Celina who made enormous progress while riding with the couple. “Good job, boot,” Tim said to Celina, providing some encouraging words to her after finally listening to Lucy’s advice. “See you tomorrow.” He said before turning to Lucy, noticing her to be in her own world. “Lucy?” He called out her name a few times before she finally snapped out of her thoughts. “I think I know,” Lucy mumbled as if Tim heard the conversation she had had in her head. Tim gave her a funny face, unable to decipher what she was talking about, causing her to let out a laugh. “My career.” She started, hitting him playfully in the chest as she began to walk towards the locker room to get changed.
“I have been having doubts lately about the undercover thing…” She admitted, looking up towards Tim as they stopped walking. “I think that is why I kept picking fights with you. I just felt unsure suddenly about what I actually wanted. I had worked for so long on trying to make undercover work my reality and forgot about what actually made sense.” She added, taking a few steps to get closer to her boyfriend. Her brown eyes found his beautiful ocean eyes, getting lost in them as a smile formed on her face. “You’re the most important thing in my life, Tim. Undercover work would have been an issue no matter what and I was too stubborn to admit it. But I know what I want. I want to be a training officer.” She found herself lighter after the words left her mouth, feeling her heart rushing in her chest as Tim’s face lit up.
He pulled Lucy into a kiss, keeping it quick knowing that they still were in their uniforms and at the station. “Good, because you would be a damn good one.” He winked before they both got to the locker rooms to get changed. —
It had been a few months since that conversation. After dealing with the ‘pentagram killer’ case, Lucy received a golden ticket for her brilliant involvement in the case. She had contributed to solving the case and bringing justice to many victims.
“I know what I want, Sir.” She said to Sergeant Grey after he made the announcement. “I want to be a training officer.”
This all felt familiar as Nolan had made the same decision when receiving his own golden ticket, the two being more similar than they thought. She glanced over at Tim who was looking at her proudly and she knew. She had made the right decision this time around.
“He knew. Tim knew all along, but gave me the time and space for me to figure it all out.”

Hey! I love your Tim Bradford x teen! Reader fics! Was wondering could you do another one? Reader reconnects with someone they met through the system who's had a rough go. Maybe they were in the same house for a while and relied on each other a lot in that house to keep each other safe. But as they reconnect reader doesn't realise how toxic the relationship is. Tamara knows the dodgy stuff that the kid gets up to from her time in the system and warns Lucy and Tim because she doesn't want reader to fall back into bad habits with them. Maybe reader gets in trouble and calls Tamara to save them?
Reconnections and Regrets (Tim Bradford x Teen!Foster!Reader)
The Rookie Masterlist
Warnings: Mentions of guns and drugs
Summary: After trying to reconnect with people in the past, y/n realizes quickly why the past should stay in the past.
Author's note: I feel like this one wasn't the best fic I've done so far. I really liked this idea for the fic, though! I hope you enjoy it! Send in some more Tim Bradford x Teen!reader angsty fics!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You had promised yourself that you wouldn’t get back into your old habits.
That you would forget your past and move forward, just like Tamara had done, and just as every other kid within the system wishes they could do. To have the ability to find someone to take you under their wing and help you forget your past. An opportunity to start over.
But here you were, texting an old friend with plans to catch up later that afternoon. You couldn’t help but smile at the messages, you were excited to catch up with old friends. But most of all, you were excited to catch up with a special someone that you hadn’t seen since Tim took you in.
The special someone was a boy named Jacob, the two of you had been in a foster home together when you were younger and he protected you from your foster father and well, you tried to do the same. You couldn’t help but develop feelings for him over the years.
The last you heard about him was that he was living with his cousin, from what you knew, this cousin was bad news and you could not help but worry about Jacob living there. Especially since he stopped responding to your messages when he moved in with his cousin. It felt like he had just pushed you away.
“What are you smiling about?” Tamara asked as she sat on the couch beside you. You had come over since Tim wasn’t home yet, and well, since Lucy and Tim were dating it now felt like you had two homes instead of one.
“Nothing,” you responded.
You could feel Tamara peeking over your shoulder to look at your phone, you quickly locked it and put it on your lap.
“Please don’t tell me you’re talking to Jessica,” she pleaded.
“Alright, I won’t.”
She rolled her eyes, “Y/N, you know how I feel about her.”
“Look, I’m just trying to reconnect, what harm-”
“You know what can happen. You gotten out of that life and now you’re trying to go back? You get Starbucks on the daily, you’re in the cheer team and you go to a self-defense class for crying out loud. You’re not the same girl you used to be, so don’t think they’ll be coming at you with open arms.”
You gave her a small glare, “Stop acting like you don’t think about going back to see your old friends from time to time.” You got up from the couch, “Maybe instead of focusing so much on my life, you should take a look at yours first.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Tamara asked as she followed you as you walked towards the door, “Where are you going?”
“Out,” you stated as you walked out of the apartment.
“Fuck,” Tamara exclaimed. Maybe she should’ve kept her mouth shut, but she felt she had to say something, otherwise, you would end up hurt. But now she felt like she had made things worse.
On the other hand, you were annoyed by how she was right and maybe you got angry with her out of fear. Fear that maybe your friends, like Tamara had said, wouldn’t be as inviting as you think they would be. You hadn’t just changed through your personality but through your appearance too. You now had someone who would take you shopping for clothes you always wanted to wear, but never did out of fear of them getting stolen or taken from you.
You acted like a completely different person now. A person who learned to trust a little more easily and you now weren’t afraid to just be yourself.
On my way over, you sent it to Jessica.
It wouldn’t take long for you to get back to the old neighborhood, it was a twenty-minute bus ride away. Or thirty minutes walking, but with the Los Angeles heat, you’d take your chances with the bus.
~~
A couple of hours passed, and Tamara had not received anything from you. Beginning to worry had already surpassed, she was the definition of completely terrified of what could go wrong. She should’ve texted Tim or Lucy the second you left, but she wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt, but not the guilt was eating away at her. She let out a frustrated groan and called Lucy.
Lucy picked up after a few rings, “What’s up?”
“Look before you start yelling, I was trying to warn her okay?”
Lucy furrowed her eyebrows, “What happened?”
“Please don’t be mad, but Y/N was here and I saw her messaging one of her old friends and we got into an argument about it and now she’s not responding and I’m scared she’s gonna fall back into some bad habits, especially because this girl is known for doing certain things.”
“How long ago did she leave?” Lucy asked.
“Like two hours ago,” Tamara confessed.
“And you’re barely calling me?” Lucy raised her voice, but quickly let out a sigh, “Do you think she went to see this friend?”
“I know she did,” Tamamra hesitantly said.
“Alright, for now, we’ll just see things out. We can’t just go there all guns blazing when there is no trouble,” Lucy stated. Although, she wanted to go all guns blazing because she was worried for Y/N’s safety.
“Are we going to tell Tim?”
“Tim already knows,” Tim announced. Tamara could hear the anger in his voice, and the fact that he never said anything until now, meant that he was indeed angry.
“Look, just keep us updated, let us know if you hear anything from her, alright?” Lucy said.
“Alright,” Tamara hung up the phone.
Lucy didn’t say anything to Tim, she waited until he did, but he remained silent.
Lucy let out a deep breath, “do you want to talk about it?”
“Talk about what?” Tim asked.
Lucy rolled her eyes, “About Y/N sneaking off to see her old friends? I mean, it’s obvious that you’re angry.”
“I’m not angry.”
“You’re not?” She asked in almost disbelief.
“I’m disappointed. I thought she trusted me enough to tell me things, well, I thought we had gotten to that point. Now I feel like we hadn’t made any progress at all.”
“You know that’s not true,” Lucy began to say.
“Is it?” Tim cut her off, “because from my perspective, it doesn’t look good. I love this kid and I want to be more than just another foster home for her, but almost every time we get close to making a breakthrough she pushes me away.”
Lucy sighed, she felt that maybe with her experience with Tamara, she would know what to say, but somehow this was different. “Just give her some time,” Lucy suggested.
Tim wanted to say that he had given her all the time in the world, but that made it sound like he was giving up, and he didn’t want to give up. He just wished he knew what to do.
~~
You had been with Jessica walking around your old neighborhood for the past two hours, hoping to run into Jacob and it didn’t take you too long.
From a distance, you can see Jacob at the park talking to some guys that looked to be older.
Jessica smirked as she watched you stare at Jacob from a distance, “you know he still asks about you.”
You scoffed, “really?” she gave you a nod, “yet he won’t return a text.”
“He thinks he’s too tough for all that shit now, he even dropped out of school,” Jessica commented. She walked in front of you, “We should go over there,” she suggested.
Now that you were here, you had a sort of fear lingering in the back of your head. You knew the chances of hanging out with Jacob meant that you could get into trouble, but that voice inside of your head just wanted to talk to him once more.
You shrugged, “I don’t know.”
“Oh come on, Y/N. Don’t act like your main purpose for hitting me up was so you could see him again,” Jessica grabbed your hand and began leading you to the park. That fear within the back of your head was beginning to get louder the closer you got to Jacob.
“Maybe I should go home,” you began to say. Jacob was only steps away and at the sound of your voice he quickly turned around.
“No way,” he said with a smile on his face. “Ain’t no way she came back to see us,” he exclaimed as you sighed and walked up to him. “For a second I was beginning to think you were too good for us.”
You rolled your eyes at his comment, “How you’ve been?” you asked.
He glanced over at his friends then diverted his eyes back at you, “I’ve been decent.” Jessica walked over to his friends, of course she would know who they were. She was quick to strike up a conversation with them. Jacob took a couple of steps away from the group, gesturing for you to get closer.
“I heard you’re staying with your cousin,” you began.
“You shouldn’t have come back, Y/N,” Jacob warned. “You got out and I’m proud that you did.”
“It’s not too late for you to do the same,” you commented.
He shook his head, “I’m too deep in this shit.” You knew what that meant. You knew that his chances of getting out of this life were gone. “You really shouldn’t have come back, people know you’re staying with a cop. My cousin knows,” he began.
Your heart began to race, “Why did you stop texting me back?” You asked. You had to ask before you left, you knew his cousin had beef with cops and anyone associated with them.
“You left and well, I had to go with my cousin and that meant-”
“I know,” you interrupted, not wanting to hear him say it. To hear him say that he stopped talking to you not just for your own good, but his as well.
“You really should go,” he began to say. From the distance you could hear the roar of an engine, it caught Jacob’s attention. “Fuck,” he whispered.
“Sounds like your cousin is back,” One of the other guys began to say.
You looked over at Jessica, “we should go,” you said.
Jessica opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by the roar of the engine, a second later a car came into view and parked in the parking lot of the park.
A guy came out of the car and began making his way over to the group, “So the rumors are true,” he began to say. “Jacob’s little girlfriend is back,” He smirked.
“Hey, Frankie,” you said.
“Is that all I get? Hey Frankie?” He scoffed before looking over at Jacob, “I need you to come with me,” he began as he glanced over at you, “and bring your little girlfriend.”
“No, Frankie. You already know she liv-”
“Did you just tell me no?” Frankie interrupted Jacob. “Do you not remember the last time I had to put you in your place?” Jacob clenched his fists, “or do you need a refresher?”
“Fine,” Jacob grabbed a hold of your hand, “let’s go.”
“Wait, what? I-I need to go home,” you pleaded.
“No, no,” Frankie began, “you’re coming with us now.”
You felt your anxiety rise within you, this is what Tamara had warned her about. This is what she was afraid of and now it was too late.
“Jacob,” you whispered to him as soon as you stepped away from Frankie, “Where are we going?”
“I don’t know,” he whispered. “I told you, you shouldn’t have come back.”
You remained silent, the best thing you could do right now was to stay calm.
Frankie drove the two of you two a house down the street, he led the two of you inside, “Dude, what the fuck, why did you bring us here?”
“I told you I wanted to show the business,” Frankie said.
“And you thought it was wise to bring her here?” Jacob commented. You looked around to see equipment you couldn’t recognize and powder inside blenders. You knew what was happening here wasn’t good at all, it was a lab of some sorts. A shitty one at that.
“I want her to see what we’re doing, if she says anything then I know who ratted us out,” Frankie stated.
Jacob shook his head, “that is the stupidest thing you have ever said. I swear you’ve lost it since you started using.”
“What the fuck did you just say to me?”
“Did you not hear yourself? You want her to purposely rat us out, for what? For us to lose everything?”
Frankie pulled out a gun and aimed it at you, “So then should I just shoot her?”
Your eyes widen, “What the fuck, Frankie!” Jacob exclaimed as he stood in front of you. You clung to Jacob’s arm, you could feel tears beginning to well up in your eyes.
One of the guys from earlier came running in, “We got a problem.”
Frankie sighed and put his gun back in his belt, “what?”
“Enrique is here and I don’t think he wants to talk anymore.”
Frankie looked at the man with anger in his eyes, “Stay here,” he told Jacob before walking out front. You pulled out your phone as soon as Frankie left.
“What are you doing?” Jacob asked.
“I-I was in over my head coming here,” You began as you looked for Tamara’s contact.
Jacob rolled his eyes, “Calling your cop dad is just going to get me locked up,” He commented.
“You wanted me to go, so now I’m calling my friend to get me the fuck out of here,” you stated. You heard a gunshot coming from outside, before you could even ask Jacob anything, he ran outside. You called Tamara, hoping she would pick up fast and that she wouldn’t say a word about this to Tim.
“Y/N!” Tamara exclaimed.
“Tamara,” you choked out, “I-I need your help.”
Tamara face fell, “Where are you?”
“I don’t know, we were at the old neighborhood and Frankie showed up and he-he’s on something and it looked like he wanted to show Jacob a-” Another gunshot rang outside, you jumped to the sound. You ran from your spot in the living room, you found a bathroom in the hallway.
“What was that?” Tamara asked.
You closed the door behind you, locking it before jumping inside the tub. “Please, help me.”
“Okay, okay, stay on the phone. I’m gonna connect Lucy okay?” Tamara quickly added Lucy to the call. “Please pick up,” Tamara said to herself.
“Tamara,” Lucy began, “you hear anything from Y/N?”
“Lucy,” you said.
“Y/N?”
“Lucy, I added you to the call,” Tamara explained.
Lucy quickly put the phone on speaker, Tim was quick to understand what was going on.
“Y/N, Hon are you okay?” Tim asked.
Just hearing his voice made you feel even more guilty, you felt the tears fall down your cheeks, “I’m sorry,” you choked out.
“Y/N, honey, it’s okay, right now I need you to tell me if you’re okay, are you hurt in any way” Tim reassured.
“N-No,” you stated.
“Good, where are you?”
“I-I don’t know. Some house in the old neighborhood.”
“Y/N, do you think you can share your location with me?” Lucy suggested.
You placed the phone on speaker as you went on your phone to share your location, “There,” you stated.
“There it is,” Lucy said.
“Let’s go,” Tim said as he placed the shop in drive.
Another gunshot ranged through the air, “What was that?” Tamara asked.
“That sounded like a gun,” Tim stated as he drove.
You stayed on the phone with them until they had gotten there. You had hung up the phone once they arrived, You could hear the gunshots coming from outside, meaning that Lucy and Tim’s presence wasn’t welcomed. Sirens were coming from the distance, you felt a little at ease knowing that backup was coming.
Still, you remained in the bathroom until it was safe. The shots subsided and you heard footsteps within the house. A few seconds later someone knocked on the door, “Y/N?” Tim called out.
You quickly got up from your position in the bathtub and opened the door. Before Tim could even react, you had your arms wrapped around his torso, he let out a relieved sigh as he hugged you back.
“I’m sorry,” you cried out.
“It’s okay,” He said as he gently rubbed your back. “It’s alright, let’s just go home.”
You agreed, following him outside. You looked around for Jacob, making eye contact with him as he sat inside one of the shops. Tim had noticed, he knew that you needed this closure with your past, “hey, roll down the window,” he told the officer who sat inside the shop. He did as he was told.
Jacob stayed silent, “I guess this is goodbye,” you began to say.
“Next time, stay out of this neighborhood,” he warned. You gave him a nod, “And if there is a next time, I probably won’t be as inviting.”
Tim gestured for the cop to roll up the window, he knew you didn’t need to hear more. “There won’t be a next time,” you whispered as you walked away from the shop.
“Y/n!” you heard Tamara call out.
“Tamara!” You ran up to her, she engulfed you in a hug. “I’m sorry for everything I said.”
“It’s the past now,” she said. “Let’s just forget about it,” she said as she let go of the hug.
“Tamara is gonna take you home until my end of shit,” Tim stated. “We’ll talk then, alright?”
You gave him a nod, following Tamara to her car.
“If there is anything I learned today, it’s that the past is the past,” you said once you got in the car. “And you’re right, I’m not the same girl I was a year ago.”
“We’re lucky,” Tamara began, “Not a lot of us get this opportunity in life and when we do, we do everything we can to not go back.” Tamara started the car. You knew that you wouldn’t come back to this life, but something within you was going to miss it. Miss the little moments of happiness that made you feel like you had a home, but now you had an actual home. It wasn’t the ideal home, but it was a home and you had someone who gave you a sense of family even if it wasn’t picture-perfect.

19) getting turned on by their partner’s new uniform for work and then roleplaying a bit
from smut prompt list no. 3 I sent you
With R getting turned on by Lucy's new uniform, and they start roleplaying out a search. Like "Feels like there's a big weapon you're trying to hide from me, sir~" type thing.

Lucy Chen x Male!reader
Tomorrow was Lucy's first official day as a police officer and she was buzzing with excitement.
She put on her brand new uniform to make sure it fit correctly and was looking at herself in the mirror of your bedroom.
You arrived home from your own day at work and walked to your bedroom with intentions of asking Lucy what she wanted to have for a celebratory dinner before her big day and was caught off guard by the sight of her in her uniform.
“Hey babe, these pants don't look too big do they?” She asks, turning around to give you a view of her ass.
“Nope they look perfect,” you say, clearly staring which makes her chuckle.
“Really? The uniform does it for you?” She teases.
“Well I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought about you using your handcuffs on me,” you chuckle.
“You mean handcuffs like this?” She says, pulling a pair of handcuffs off her belt.
“Suddenly I think I've been a bad boy,” you say playfully.
“Well… I could use some more practice searching someone,” she says, taking your hands and placing them on the dresser, “So how about you spread your legs for me.”
“Yes ma’am,” you gulp, spreading your legs as she pats you down from behind, giving you a playful squeeze to your ass on her way down to your legs.
“Now turn around and put your hands in the air,” she orders and likes how your stomach becomes exposed as your shirt raises when you do as you're told.
She pats you down again starting from your arms down to your waist and this time she grabs your crotch, “hm, are you in possession of a weapon sir?”
“No officer I'm not,” you say, your erection growing.
“Are you sure? It seems like you're trying hide something from me,” she taunts, squeezing your bulge again, “and if you're hiding something I'm going to have to arrest you.”
“Why don't you take it out and see for yourself,” you reply.
She pulls your hands forward and snaps the handcuffs around your wrists, “I think I'll put these on just to be safe.”
She pushes you gently so your back hits the dresser, undoing your pants and letting your cock free.
“I was right, you are in possession of a weapon… and a big one at that,” she smirks, wrapping her hand around you and stroking so you get harder.
“Lucy,” you moan.
“That's officer Chen,” she says sternly, kissing at your neck, her hand going under your shirt to rest on your stomach.
She gets to her knees in front of you causing you to tug at the handcuffs when she pulls up your shirt and takes her time kissing and licking along your hips.
She teases you, making you think she's about to take you in her mouth but instead she gets back to her feet, pulling you over to the bed and pushing you back onto the mattress, your hands restrained with your pants around your ankles.
You wiggle into a bit more comfortable position as you watch Lucy struggle to get her belt off.
“Damn it not now,” she mumbles breaking the moment of role play which makes you laugh but eventually she gets it undone and rids herself of her pants, “okay where were we.”
“I think you were about to punish me officer Chen,” you chuckle.
She blushes and climbs on top of you, eagerly guiding you inside her, taking a moment to adjust before slowly rocking her hips.
“If you don't want me to write you a ticket you're gonna have to make me cum, think you can do that,” she commands.
“I'll do anything you want officer,” you groan as she starts to move faster.
You end up making her cum twice and an hour later Lucy is changing out of her uniform into her normal clothes so you could finally get dinner.
You're sitting on the edge of the bed, your wrists still bound by the handcuffs, “as hot as all that was these cuffs are actually start to hurt a little.”
“Oh no are you okay did I over do it?” She says worried.
“Not at all I enjoyed every second of it,” you reassure her, “but if you could get the key before I have to explain to all my coworkers tomorrow why my wrists are bruised that would be great.”
She picks up her uniform pants and searches the pockets but can't seem to find it and mutters an “oh crap.”
“You have the key right?” You ask.
“Of course I do… I've just… misplaced it,” she says.
“Well better me and not an actual criminal I guess,” you laugh.

bad habits (hard to break). – Chapter 1
“Sex is still a bad idea,” Lucy says, but it sounds like she’s trying to convince herself more than anything. “I mean, we shouldn’t. Right?” “Absolutely not,” Tim answers lowly, but his hand doesn’t stop her as she presses her palm against his stomach, slowly trailing up as she leans in. “Sometimes I really hate you,” she whispers, her gaze locked onto his lips. “I know,” he murmurs quietly. “Just as much as I really want you,” she says next, barely audible as she leans in further.

Magic of Christmas
“At least I’m not a Christmas hater.” “I don’t hate Christmas,” he argues, “I hate what people have made of it.”
“What—caroling, sending letters to Santa, and making snowmen?”
“First of all, there is such a thing as too much Christmas music. You’re lucky you weren’t at Mid-Wilshire the year we had a drunk acapella group in holding. Second, I’m not a monster, I’m not opposed to Santa, I just don’t care for him. And snowmen? How hard did you hit your head? We’re in Los Angeles, Lucy.”
“Drunk acapella? Okay, now that I want to see,” she muses.
“You say that now but trust me, you would have gotten sick of Carol of the Bells after the third time.”
Lucy smiles, “I don’t know, I think I would have liked it—and I never called you a monster …  unless you actually go around telling kids Santa Claus doesn’t exist? Which—”
“You actually think I would?”
“No but you did question the snowmen.” “It’s California.” “It snows in other places, Tim.”
“True but you suggested that was part of what I disliked about it. How can I dislike something I’ve never seen?” “You’ve never seen snow?!”
“Not during Christmas …”
“How?”
“It doesn’t snow in California, Luce.”

Car Confessions
"I kicked my rookie out of the car today. I left him on the side of the road, with no explanation and just drove away."
Her eyes fly open, her body turning toward him. "What?"
He sighs, finding it hard to meet her eyes. "When the calls came through and I realized they were for you, I kind of lost my shit for a minute. I couldn't let him see me like that."
"Tim."
"I know."
"Does Grey know?"
Tim shakes his head. "No. Celina and Nolan made sure Swanson covered for me."
Lucy nods, relaxing back into the seat. She glances down, her fingers fiddling with the zipper on her jacket.
"You let me see you like that, you know. With Isabelle."
"That was different."
Lucy raises a brow. "How so?"
"With Isabelle, I was more angry than anything. This was more... fear, that I wouldn't get the chance to see you, talk to you again." He takes a deep breath before admitting, "Plus, it was you. You were different. You always were."
