Weird Book at the Grocery Store

I found a book behind the counter at the Grand Market on Neely Street.

Unfortunately, I can't pick it up or interact with it. 😢

It's not very clear, but to me it looks like it says "Book of Crockery" or "Book of Crookery"??? 😕 But it also kinda looks like "Book of Grookey" (Pokémon), lol i dunno.

Why is this book here? Why does it stick out but we can't interact with it?! 😢

I did the meanest thing to James. At the graveyard, i made him walk into the water up to his crotch to see how far he could go before hitting an invisible wall. It's now canon (for my playthru) that he has to endure his Silent Hill journey in soaking wet jeans and soggy shoes. #adding to his horrors

Lakeview Hotel (ruined version) - zodiac symbols

In the "normal" hotel there is a puzzle involving a large painting and some books in the 2nd floor Reading Room:

However, when we go thru this room again in the ruined hotel, the burned version of the painting now has four zodiac symbols in each corner (top left = Aquarius, bottom left = Taurus, top right = Scorpio, bottom right = Leo):

I assume the symbols have something to do with the puzzle (they appear to be the flipped version that the book order needs to be) BUT why show us this information long after the puzzle is solved??? Also, at this point in the game there are no more puzzles left to solve, like, all there is to do is make our way to the twin PH fight. It's so strange. 😕

Not sure if i just missed something, or if this was a leftover from an earlier build of the game. Is it something that'll be relevant in New Game + mode?

(Hopefully i'll remember to poke around this area again on my NG+ run. If i find anything i'll add it to this post.)

So, I was trying to get the "In Water" ending on my first playthru as well as the "Leave" ending, but for some reason my playthru was locked on "Leave". 😢 No matter what I did, I would get "Leave" even after replaying nearly the entire back half of the game from an old save. I made sure to avoid healing James unless absolutely necessary, and I looked at Angela's knife a bunch of times. I tried all combos of rust-coloured egg door / scarlet egg door / listen to Mary's monologue / don't listen to Mary's monologue ... and still got the "Leave" ending. 😡

After a bunch more googling for tips and tricks, someone on Reddit came thru. The yellow underlined part is what FINALLY gave me the "In Water" ending. 🎉

Just wanted to share in case anyone else was having the same issue as me. Hopefully you don't have to replay nearly half the game like I did. 🤞 Now that I have "In Water" i should be able to get all 6 other endings in my New Game + run. 🥳

gaaaaaaawwwwd, I really hope those posters for attractions in the Silent Hill area means that the devs are seriously considering remaking SH1. 🙏 I want so badly to see the church and the lighthouse and the amusement park in modern graphics!!!

I am eternally grateful that there's a ton of settings to customize how SH2R looks (for accessibility or just personal preference reasons). I prefer my interface to be minimal, nearly non-existent, and i keep forgetting the game looks that way because i want it to look that way.

I see clips of other people's gameplay with maximum interface and it physically . hurts . me. 😂

I know we all have different needs (you do you), but man, i'm so relieved it's not mandatory for all that extra stuff to be on screen.
