Undertale Au: Extended Family!

(Alternatively: More Skeltons that aren't Sans and Papyrus!)

This Au is about there being more skeletons besides Sans and Papyrus and there's also more variety to them as well.

Mom and Dad

Lucida Font

- Lucida is Sans and Papyrus' Mom.

- She's a Mexican sugar skull.

- Lucida is a strict mother, but she's very caring and loving.

- She is friends with Toriel, the shopkeeper bunnies, and Undyne's Mom.

- Lucida loves to bake, paint, and read romance books.

- Sans gets his shortness and round head shape from his Mom.

- Papyrus gets his caring and loving personality from his Mother. Papyrus always admired his Mother's cooking and her strong will.

Oswald Font

- Oswald is Sans and Papyrus' Dad and Gaster's Son

- Oswald has a Muntjac skull

- Oswald is a affectionate, bookwarm, and interactive father. He's the type of Dad to help you build a science project while researching every bit of it.

- Oswald is friends with Gerson, Asgore, and Alphy's parents.

- Sans gets his lazy and joking personality from his Dad. Sans definitely admires his father ever since he was a young skull.

-Oswald's father is Gaster, the best seems to be professional aside from random moments where Gaster acts like a actual father.

-Oswald swears to never be a father like Gaster.

Both live together in the capitol and raised Sans and Papyrus there until the two boys moved out.

Siblings

Arial

- Arial and the youngest and baby sister.

- Arial was born only a year before Sans and Papyrus moved to Snowdin. She's currently 4 years old.

- Arial has a smal cat skull

- Arial wear a big, taped on, purple bow on the back of her head. She wears a green and teal collared dress.

- After Sans made Papyrus' costume, he made Arial a blue bandana so she "wouldn't feel left out" and Papyrus gave her red boots to match with him

- Gaster gifted Arial the purple bow when she was born but doesn't spend much time with her.

-Arial is friends with Chump (A possum monster who wears a red and white stripped hoodie), Sona, the inn keepers son, and Monster kid's sister.

Grandfather

Wind ding Gaster

- Gaster is a wendigo.

- he's 9ft tall (7ft without his antlers), he has black fur and he wears a white science coat.

- Not much is known about him aside from the fact he was A royal scientist. Because there was multiple. The other 2 were Alphy's parents.

- Gaster was the head of royal scientist team and he took his job very very seriously.

- He was a absent and workaholic father. He visited more and more when Sans was born and homeschooled him until Papyrus was born.

- Sans soon started working as a intern for Gaster and followed him everywhere.

- Gaster died shortly after Arial was born because Sans pushed him into the core after he found out Gaster was going to kidnap and experiment on Arial.

-after he fell into the core, he melted and his personality changed to be more delirious and goofy. He lurks in the shadows, watching his grandkids.

Other skeletons.

Sono

- Sono has a bat skull with bone ears.

- Sans and Papyrus' punk cousin on their mother's side.

- Sono is Nonbinary and is a shopkeeper that sells in garbage dump, right before you meet Dumby. Their shop is made of card board and it's inspired by Sans' hot dog stand.

- Sono is into grundge and punk human stuff. They love to look through the trash for cool stuff.

- Sono hangs out with Catty and Bratty and but their Aunt Lucida doesn't approve.

- they look up to Sans (literally. They're short) as a brother figure since they have no siblings and their parents are always working.

- Sans use to babysit Sono when they were a babybones and that's one of the reasons they're so close.

- Sono works as a babysitter for Arial when Lucida and Oswald have date night, need a break, or are both working.

- never knew Grandpop Gaster, bc they were never interested and Gaster took the time to even meet Sono.

Allura

- Allura used to be a human but was brought back to life as a skeleton by a huma mage.

- The only skeleton to have hair and it's short black with a white hair band.

- Allura wears a orange, and purple sweater, and ripped blue jeans with white sneakers.

- instead of Frisk falling down it's Allura. Allura fell down bc when they were brought back, the necromancer convinced other mages that Allura is a monster that escaped bc necromancy is forbidden. So they pushed Allura down Mt. Ebott.

so i lost access to all my artwork because of a hardware issue with my USB, we'd have to send it in to get it fixed and recover the data, which we ferociously don't have the money for

so once i had my own little cry to mourn my work, i immediately went around to doing a messy sketch to distract myself, and I'm just gonna start normalizing posting messy unfinished sketches every so often

OC's very recent, I don't have a concrete name for her yet but we're going with the beta name Lucida until something else clicks with her

She's Sans and Pap's ten-year-old sister in the AU fic I'm developing rn. She doesn't have the same context surrounding Flowey that Sans does, but she finds him very obnoxious with his overly cutesy best fwend shtick.

That never worked on her even when he initially tried to manipulate her the same way he did with Papyrus and several others. Not because she's somehow more mature or less gullible than Pap, she's still plenty naive and easy to fool, and people do it to her quite regularly.

She just finds this damn weed massively annoying. His voice is grating to her, whether he's trying to be nice, witty, or cruel. It's like looking at an annoying chihuahua with that shrill yapping bark.

Eventually once Flowey loses control over the resets, their dynamic kinda just resorts to the two of them trading drive-by insults at each other.

(Why does she have normal human proportions and not boney/skeletal proportions? cause idk how to draw anatomically correct bone anatomy and i refuse to learn.)

ive been meaning to ask how you name your fankids/ocs in general? i love making fankids but find myself always getting stuck on the naming process for some reason or another and since you have a lot of fankids i figured i’d ask for resources or tips if you have any

OH!! Well!! Hm.

When it comes to names for kiddos there’s a lot of different factors depending on what universe they’re from, but most of the time I try to look for names with meanings or significance behind them.

For example, Hyacinth gets a flower name because his mom is Willow Park, and the flower symbolism behind his name is related to his story and his relationship with his dad. Hyacinths symbolize joy, sincerity, a desire for forgiveness and rebirth.

Akio’s name is courtesy of Shadow- since he’s Japanese, finding a meaning in the different Kanji combinations is easy.

For my undertale fankids the process is slightly different- it’s based in headcanon. In my idea of the world of monsters, at least in the north American underground, monsters typically name their children anagrams or combinations of the parents names. Asgore was just not very creative when it came to naming Asriel. For example I named Alphys’s dad’s “Alphonse” and “Yasmin,” and Petyr is a mix of “Papyrus” and “Mettaton” meant to be read like “Peter.”

HOWEVER!! This isn’t the case with all of them- skeleton monsters are traditionally named after fonts, and Sans and Toriel chose to give Lucida a font name rather than an anagrammed name :-)

TLDR it’s a combination of vibes and name meanings!!!

Underheaven Sans aka: Nightweaver

Nicknames: Weaver

AU: ExoZone (a space outside the multiverse)

Age: Estimated 60-70 years old

Alignment - Lawful Neutral -> Lawful Evil?

Species - Ghost Skeleton

Basic Info: Nightweaver is the main antagonist to Lucida in both the Pre and Post Apocalypse of Underheaven. Pre Apoc: He believes that if the future of the Underheaven is this terrible it shouldn't be allowed to exist. Post Apoc: he realizes the cruelty of other timelines and universes and takes it upon himself to judge dead or dying creations. Those that meet his standards are allowed to be archived in the AU Graveyard. Those who do not are eaten... or experimented on.

Abilities *All attacks are ghost based. They do not leave a physical mark on the target but still deal damage to health. They can also move the target. Negative Inspiration Trait: Hopelessness Percentage (AKA Weaver casts depression on your entire team)

Weapons

Scales - Used to calculate the hopelessness percentage Bone Scalpel - used only when he isn't taking an enemy seriously

Bonus Info:

He is cursed to live outside the mulitverse. Too much creative energy will cause him to lose control of his body. Can only be damaged by healing magics. Can briefly enter the multiverse by using a host body. However the host will start to disintegrate over time.

the life of the Royal Scientist

I was going to make a more appropriate introduction to Lucida, my Undertale OC, but I've been a little excited to post this because it's a cry for help I'm finally having some ideas for her that I didn't initially have while I still developed Imaginary Friend (the original story). I'll eventually post some of those ideas online!

It's my birthday today!

So here are some OLD Roman fun facts!

Roman Times New wasn't originally going to be her name at first. I was going to follow my normal OC naming convention something short and sweet. Violet/Vi was floating in my head as well as Lavender/Lavi, but then I decided just to follow skeleton naming rules. Scanning the fonts I was looking for ones that were feminine in nature so like Arial, Calibri, Lucida etc etc. But I wasn't a fan of how the font looked to my eyes in relation to Roman herself and so I just tested a bunch of random fonts. Times New Roman just fit and looked the best to my eyes.

Roman's story was going to involve AU's more heavily. Those that know about Tsum Roman know that VERY early on I was heavily involving AU's. Unlike now where AU's are used as just places Roman goes to, granted still involving heavy AU interest such as with Nightmare. Of course the only big AU involved is well Pinktale made by @bettinalevyisdetermined . Because her bestie Joyce lives there thus why I kept it involved in the story.

Webdings was going to be more cold. This goes back to the Tsum Roman days, Webdings DID have an appearance (granted as a black shadow) but her look was VERY different to how she is now. Webdings was going to be more cold and cruel. Literally like as cruel as Handplates Gaster was. Granted on a lesser scale but pretty damn cold.

Shadow never existed at first. That's right, back in Tsum Roman days, Shadow didn't exist. Instead Roman was just imbued with really strong magic that had a kinda life of their own in a sense. Think like when people draw the Gaster Blasters as skull doggos. Basically her magic is it's own entity unnamed which got turned into Shadow when I had an actual story.
