October Log

October caught me colouring this short comic I made at the end of AnthroArt's online applied anthropology Bootcamp. The drawing is a synthetisation of my research team's experience exploring invisible barriers that migrant mothers encounter in trying to grasp a new language and find a new, local mother-based community. The drawing will be present alongside AnthroArt's other artistic projects in an exhibition accompanying their Bucharest Conference at the beginning of November.

Finished colouring the series of waiting room drawings and turned it into a small zine that will be available at our After Hours Work Club stand during Sit+Read Book Fair later this month. I'm bringing my stuff there alongside Gavril, Meci and our newest member, Dariana.

Had the chance to reprint my MA project while preparing for the Fair. I can't express the contentment that xerox coloured paper gives me, especially for projects that need to be manually cut to shapes. I had some pretty unfulfilling experiences in the past while printing this little comic anthology, having printed them on white paper that leaves little white mucus whenever I tried to cut them. The thickness of the paper was also a huge issue for this project. Each comic is only six pages long so thick paper makes the book feel very awkward and hard to handle. The material composition of standard xerox paper fits much better and I can finally say that the project is reaching its final form, the only think that's missing now is an English translation for the Romanian text.

I also turned 40 of those transformers I keep studying into pocket sized publications. They were one of the hottest things among my creations at our S+R stand, which totally makes sense considering their sexy spicy roots. In the same way as my MA anthology, this project is slowly reaching its final form, hopefully being complete by the end of December and ready to hit our fair stands in 2024.

LuciAna (Ana Kun + me) strikes again with the vegan agenda, this time in linocut form. The prints are part of an ongoing project we have spreading messages of animal equality. I drew the image, Ana wrote the text (Împarte mâncare, nu teroatre - eng. Share food, not terror), after we printed some postcards with the digital image, Ana started to carve, I joined in printing and we ended up with A4 linon prints, while also dipping our toes into printing on clothes (some aprons, some chef shirts and some rags). They were available at Sit+Read and can still be purchased at our studio, Balamuc, but also online (DM us if you want one).

Another project that finally materialised in the S+R context were the Zine Maker/Lover/Breaker. The drawings were created and slowly

vectorised by me, and printed by Livia at Gruni Ceramics (who turned 4 this year). They turned out amazing and were another fan favourite at our AHWC.

These weeks were more forgiving, soft and restful than September was, a much needed slowing of pace if you ask me. The Sit+Read fair came in such a rush, and it was such a wonderful experience, although quite tiring as well. Not too bad for my first fair experience. I'm beyond inspired by the organising team (especially Flo from Secret Garden Bookshop Timișoara). We've launched two new zines: No words, No words - Made in collaboration with the ever so lovely Meci (Melinda Ureczki-Lazar) and Make a Wish - the retrospective on the Balamuc residency that me and Gavril Pop were invited to earlier this year.

I'm reading all the publications I bought or received from swaps and I'm training on all fronts to undertake a commission for UPT Campus Creativ right after the fair ends.

Sorry if it was asked already, but is there Lucian particularly likes (especially non-abstract)? Except for, well, obviously blood-

Well, we can put together quite a big list! Lucian loves to read, he loves books (mostly classic paper ones, screens irritate him). Reading calms him down and gives him a sense of safety. In general, he is very well-read and has read a lot of books in his life, but in most cases he prefers to hide it.

Lucian loves music, especially from the 50s-90s. He has a large selection of vinyl records, in particular, he is a big fan of Elvis (there are rumors that he is alive and also a vampire, but Lucian doesn't know for sure, he has never met him and this upsets him very much). He loves beautiful things and art objects. Most of his life he lived poorly and with many deprivations, and only in the last few years he has had money to afford more. He adores beautiful antiques, and his medium's abilities allow him to "feel things" (and not accidentally get into trouble with cursed necklace or something).

It may surprise some that I don't write that Lucian likes cigarettes, but his heavy smoking habit is not due to a love of smoking or an addiction, but because of his problems as a medium. The smoke helps to confuse ghosts, clears his head and helps him to control himself better.

SUPER OLD RAINBOW! ART THREAD!!! Open only if you are brave enough to face teen me's cringe art...

(mostly joking but fr white Mimi and skinny Boo jumpscare below)

Very first digital piece of Boo and Mimi circa 2011!! I was 14 when I drew this. Usually I'm able to look back fondly at super old art of mine but this one does make me cringe a liiiiittle bit. Mimi girl what are you wearing, why are you white. Boo also had pink eyes in the beginning, which she would continue to have for several years to come (even in the current iteration of RAINBOW! they were pink at first, I later recolored those pages) but it was only later that it was due to the color scheme of the comic and not because they were literally pink. I'm pretty sure they were meant to be contacts, because their hair is and always have been dyed rather than anime-esque natural colorful hair, so that was some crazy dedication from Boo back in the day.

More 2011 art showing off Mimi's goth/scene-ish style and green eyes. They were initially meant to have pastel and neon fashion senses, respectively. The story was already named at this point, only a few days or maybe weeks into its inception, which is impressive considering it has taken us literal years to name other stories (I'm looking at you, Phantom Pains)

this one is from super early 2012! Interesting to think that this was less than 9 months later since it feels completely different to me. The first version of the comic had started at this point, and the pink and green color scheme was just starting to develop. This lineup features some characters that would later be cut. Lucian and Lily were friends of Boo, and Cecilia was Mimi's ex girlfriend. Notably Clarice is not on this lineup, and frankly I'm not sure why.

A picture I drew to commemorate 50 fans on RAINBOW!'s smackjeeves page, mid 2012. Boo's outfit resembled a recolored version of her 2011 outfit, but I have no idea what Mimi is wearing. What. are. you. wearing.

Chibi-ish drawings of Boo and Mimi cosplaying various characters, from early 2013. Homura Mimi is very funny to me, I really don't know why I didn't draw her as Kyoko. I assume I was trying to keep them as paired characters, but I didn't do that with the Sailor Moon or Disney ones, so I who knows why I did it with PMMM. Mimi's hairstyle changes to a shaved cut somewhere around this time, but it is much more dramatic than her current undercut, and her hair is still pretty long. Boo is wearing a closet cosplay of Fluttershy that I myself wore once. These also resemble the chibi-ish drawings on the chapter intermission pages of RAINBOW! Vol 1.

A character study I did in late 2013, which would be shortly after I made a major style shift into the art style that would eventually develop into the one I currently have. At this point, Boo was meant to be fatter than Mimi, but the execution wasn't really there at all. There is also a doodle at the bottom of me and Sunny at the time (I am the one with long hair), expressing thanks for 300 fans on smackjeeves. Considering it had 50 in mid 2012, the readership was pretty slow growing back then.

outfit exploration for Mimi, circa 2014. At this point I started to expand the color scheme a little bit more so that not every character would be paper-white, though she is still very pale even though she is no longer meant to be white anymore. None of these outfits really resemble her current style, and I don't particularly like any of them either. It took me a very long time to settle on a fashion sense for her.

an Adventure Time-eqsue drawing of Mimi and Boo that I actually drew less than two weeks after the previous image despite the difference in things such as the way the hair was drawn. I had to include this one because it blew up overnight, which was a huge deal for highschool me, I remember checking my phone at school a lot because it was just getting hundreds or even thousands of notes over the span of the day. I think it has something like 16,000 notes. Still the post with the highest number of notes I have by far, so I guess I peaked in high school, whomp whomp

More fashion exploration, this time of Mimi and Boo, from early 2015. The color scheme is starting to approach what it currently is, but much more dull since I used to be afraid of bright colors. Mimi's fashion sense is starting to get closer to what it currently is, but the pastel goth influence that was popular in early-mid 2010s tumblr is apparent. In chapter 1, Boo wears an outfit that is extremely similar to the one with the bear shirt, except it's a rabbit instead. The dress that Mimi gives to Boo is also almost identical to the depiction of it here. This drawing implies that Mimi was originally going to be present in the film noir scene where Boo finds her mom, which is interesting...

Another cast lineup! This one is from late 2015-early 2016. Mimi is wearing an outfit pretty similar to what she wears in chapter 1 but with the colors altered. The execution of Boo's body type is starting to improve but she's still kind of pear-shaped. Mimi is also a little more square, and her hair finally looks like the style she has now. Clarice gets to be in the lineup this time and she is SUPER tall. I think she is still taller than Milo. And Mimi is around 5'7"-5'8", so Clarice must be around 6 foot by that logic.

The original version of chibi-ish Boo riding a bike in her Kiki outfit, from 2016. I think it was meant to be a banner of some kind, possibly for tapas or tumblr. A newer version of this drawing features as a chapter intermission drawing in the physical book.

The original cover for RAINBOW! from 2017. The color scheme is finally starting to get a little brighter! This is actually a redraw of an older drawing from 2014, I want to draw it again someday. Also, I was going by Rain at the time.

A drawing I did in late 2017 for a class in which we were meant to try digital painting and I went for a very simple approach. I like that Mimi's legs are a little noodle-y. This is also the first drawing where Mimi's eyes are no longer green, but dark pink instead. By the language of RAINBOW!'s color scheme, that means they are brown. Boo's eyes are still pink, however.

Another drawing for a class, this time from 2018. I can't remember the specifics of the assignment, but I used the opportunity to draw the playground and Max, the dog, for the first time. I like the way the trees look in this. That little snip of hair by Mimi's ear also made a reappearance here for some reason.

The original version of the drawing that would become the cover of RAINBOW! Vol 1, from mid 2019! I believe I drew it to be a banner on Tapas, but I used it for tumblr as well.

And lastly, Boo and Mimi outfit sheets from 2019-2020. I messed with them for a while, hence the timeframe. Boo's eyes are finally green, which I changed since I liked the idea of Mimi having green hair and pink eyes, and Boo having pink hair and green eyes, as if they are reflected a bit in each other. Outside of RAINBOW!'s color scheme, Boo's eyes are actually blue though. It took about a decade, but I finally settled on a fashion sense for Mimi.

BONUS ART!!! 💖💖✨✨ I thought these would be better grouped together rather than chronologically with the rest.

RAINBOW!'s banners from its era on smackjeeves! Smackjeeves didn't have square/circular icons but rather these thin long banners which could also be animated. I thought that was so fun, so I always animated them at least a little, even though one doesn't seem to work. It was customary to write girls love/boys love on the banner of mlm/wlw romance stories then, so almost all of them say that. I still see that trend on some comics on webtoon and tapas nowadays. They are from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017. I don't believe the 2017 one was ever used.

And RAINBOW!'s icon throughout the years! I always refused to change it, only update it, because I thought it was really cute. They are from (approximately) 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

And finally, art from 2021 of Mimi with her cousin August, who will be the protagonist of our next comic, Phantom Pains. Weird to think that we'll be on that comic in foreseeable future, since it is also over 10 years old now. As the tour participants vote for the starting department, Scripted and Sci turn to note the positions of the security team. Swag and Chris to the sides while Lucian takes charge of the back. Absolutely surrounded, as one should expect.

The Siren turns away and blows a quiet raspberry, crossing her arms as she begins to note everything and everyone else in the room with a nonchalant look. Some she recognized, some she did not. All possible opportunities for success or failure, as much as the Director thought they were all possible disasters waiting to happen.

Speaking of— Out of the corner of her eye, Sci notices a blonde person with a blue mark over their eye, blue wings and tail adorning their form while they stare at the bot beside her specifically.

Well they look mad.

Snickering, she turns to Scripted and bumps his elbow, making a small motion with her head to make him look over.

“Seems RTV isn't the only one with fans here, Director.”

Scripted furrows his eyebrows and cautiously glances over her shoulder, analyzing the person for a moment only to look away and murmur back to the Siren.

“Not a clue. They don't seem that interested but keep an eye out.”

Sci raises an eyebrow and scoffs, yet nods regardless. If it wasn't Scripted then it was Michael, but what the hell did Michael do? She didn't know he had enemies! Actually, she finds that very hard to believe. Michael? Having enemies? With THAT face? HAH!

Ah well.

Once the voting seemed to end, RTV spoke through the chatter once more, catching the trio's attention.

“THANK YOU ALL FOR VOTING! LOOKS LIKE WE WILL GO TO THE ART DEPARTMENT FIRST! IF YOU WOULD FOLLOW ME, PLEASE!”

An option they didn't choose but one they will have to reluctantly take. Save for BB, who's excited to see more of the facility and actually participate on the tour. As the tourists begin to ascend the stairs, Sci notices a dragon fly up to the rail and land close to RTV, causing her to scoff with an amused smile.

Bold move, Marie. But she garners the Siren's respect.

… And her attention away from the messed up stairs. Her foot gets stuck on the edge of the very last step, causing the fish to trip and stumble in her walk but she’s quick to regain her balance. Maybe looking like an absolute fool with her arms stretched out and her boss and co-worker looking back at her, but she’s fine nonetheless! The Siren stands back up straight after a pause and a nervous smile, puffing out her chest as she continues walking as if nothing had happened, “cool— cool— all cool, we’re chill.”

Scripted rolls his eyes and sighs, resuming their walk through the hallway as RTV led the tour group. He hums, quietly murmuring to his lackeys once more as they look around.

“Let's start falling back. BB, you can go ahead of us when we get to the art department, Sci and I will take care of Lucian.”

The bunny and fish nod, one with enthusiasm and the other not so much.

“Aye aye!”

“Roger.”

And as told, Bunnybot begins to step towards the front of the group while Scripted and Sci fall back, separating to keep their plans in motion as they get to the art department. The Director doesn’t pay much attention to the guide, the Siren, however, does as she multi-tasks keeping an eye out on possible useful things like her boss AND admiring the work of the production. She was an artist, damn it! She wanted to know more about the studio process too! Even if she had personal experience working for another Puzzlevision Studios. Sue her!

The duo continues to look around until a new employee is introduced.

“Oh, you’re already here! Oh sh-should I introduce myself?”

“Colores, head of our Art department and funny enough the younger SISTER of Lucian over there.”

The Siren’s fin flicks as she glances up at Colores, then glances over her shoulder at Lucian, watching as he waves and is painfully ignored. She winces, shooting a pitiful look at the neon sign head that probably doesn’t even notice amidst the crowd. Looking forward again, the fish looks down at the floor in thought, tuning out the rest of the talk as some memories pass through her mind.

She doesn’t even notice when the group begins to move again, not until Scripted lightly clears his throat and snaps her out of her thoughts. Sci glances over at the bot, who glances back with a raised eyebrow and an expectant look. The fish blinks and realizes it was time for the next part of the plan.

Her part.

She frowns at the Director, letting the other participants walk around them as they stood still for a moment. Scripted frowns back with a glare, the both of them having a quiet conversation with just their expressions until Sci lets out a silent resigned sigh. The duo begins walking again; this time, however, the fish and the bot separate. With Sci trailing behind everyone, she eventually becomes the very last person to rally up in the tour and the closest to Lucian.

God, she didn’t want to do this… I mean, she DID but starting conversations was never her strong suit. But she had to! For the sake of progressing and not getting Scripted on her ass yelling at her.

Actually she’d much rather take a lecture from him right about now—focus.

Taking a deep breath, the fish looks behind herself and steps next to the head of security, talking a bit quietly to not disturb the conversations happening up on the front or garner attention.

“Hey. Lucian, right?” The fish person meekly starts, looking up at the neon sign with a friendly smile. “I’m Sci, SciMagic.”

Lucian snapped out of his thoughts that he had temporarily lept into, before his sign head turned to look at Sci. He recognized her as the fish-person that had been hanging out with the doppelganger and the creepy glasses.

“That’s me”, he meant, putting one hand on his hip as his head started to spell out [Hi!]. “Though I will have to disappoint you, I’m afraid I don’t recognize people as well as my boss. What’s up?”

"Oh. Pssh," the fish flicks a wrist at Lucian, dismissing the disappointed claim. "Nah, don't worry about that, I don't think I'm uh— that interesting of a subject to be known by people. Let alone by your boss—"

She murmurs that last part with a raised eyebrow, but she shakes her head after.

"Anyway, I just wanted to chat a bit. You seemed like a cool guy."

Lucian seemed slightly surprised by that, giving the crowd around them a glance before making a gesture for Sci to continue. He supposed he could spare a few minutes, it wasn’t like much was happening right now.

“Thanks and sure.” He shrugged. “I’m guessing you have a few questions? Not sure I can answer them, but I will try my best.”

The fish smiles up at him with small delight, "thanks, 'ppreciate that."

Sci hums as she goes through the questions in her head. Definitely not a studio layout with secret parts included right off the bat.

"Mm, what's it like working here? Any fun?"

Almost immediately his sign head blanked out as he stopped it from accidentally displaying any of his actual thoughts. Happened a few times before and it wasn’t fun.

“Ah- the work? Well, I suppose it’s fine…” he replied, rubbing his neck as he tried to come up with something that sounded like he was somewhat enjoying his current occupation. “Sometimes it gets tough, security and all that, ya know? But the thrill of figuring out these difficult situations makes it fun again. Trust me though, the other departments? Way more enjoyable. Well, aside from the janitors I guess…”

The fish snickers lightly, "so I've heard..."

She shoves her hands in her pockets, casually leaning back as she continues to chat.

"And I hear ya, I'm— actually on the line of security too…! Tough job but I guess it's given to the toughest for a reason."

Lucian slightly perked up at that, his interest rising.

“Ya don’t say? What line exactly if I could ask?”

At her indirect compliment he simply huffed amused. Yeah, sure. RTV gave him this job because he wasn’t shy of hurting people, alright. Not exactly because he was careful.

"Personal bodyguard," Sci answers with a close-eyed smile, faltering almost immediately as she looks to the side with a bit of a grimace, "though— for the most stubborn person ever that doesn't know when not to get into fights..."

He couldn’t help but chuckle at that, making a vague gesture over to RTV.

“Feel ya there, sister. I also have to play that role sometimes when a certain someone decided to make public appearances. When your boss has a sharp tongue it never gets boring at least.”

Sci groans out loud and rolls her eyes, smiling with annoyance and also relief at the shared sentiment.

"Ugh! Tell me about it! It's like they have a knack for pissing off the people that CAN actually kill them! Talk about poking the belly of the beast."

”Yeah, sometimes you think they do it on purpose…”

He muttered, though the previous amusement had slipped from his voice as the word ‘kill’ came up. “‘suppose they just love hiding behind us. The strong muscle.”

"Mh-hm..."

Sci hums before she stays silent for a moment again, turning her gaze back to the front as she hears it’s time to participate in another group vote.

“Oh, and don’t think about SNATCHING something that belongs to the studio, as great as some of the artist tools and merch look. Camera sees ALL and that jazz.~”

Her eyes discreetly glance at said cameras, taking a quick look at them before diverting her gaze back to normal again. A bit of a twitch on her eyebrows as the vote begins once more.

She crosses her arms and glances off to the side, a hesitant look on her face as she begins talking to Lucian again.

"... Sometimes it's the dirty work that gets me, y'know? I can fight, sure, but what he asks of me..."

The fish frowns, fins falling slightly as she mutters.

"Can't exactly say 'no', though…”

Lucian listened for a second to what RTV was rambling before his attention was turned back to Sci. Ah, hilarious. Someone who was in the same situation as him? A funny coincidence…

“So your boss got ya on the hook too? Tough luck,” he sighed, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “I would love to tell you that you shouldn’t blame yourself, but well, a bit of humility never hurt anyone, right? Second you try to justify, you may have crossed the line completely.”

There was a sound akin to someone exhaling, before his voice slightly lowered.

“Patience is a virtue. You never know when your chance comes, so don’t give up.”

And there it is...

'Dirty work'.

Sci hums at his advice, her smile now completely fallen as she gets a more serious maybe even a bit saddened look. It was good advice... She appreciated it from someone she could relate to. But nevertheless, she got what she needed. Unfortunately.

The fish lightly scoffs, tone lowering as she gives a side eye to the object head.

"Hope you haven't given up yourself then."

She turns her body to Lucian, looking up at him with caution as she tries to turn her head away from the crowd’s eye. "I don't wanna get you in trouble... Ocean Gods know that's the last thing I wanna do to someone in the same situation as me. But your boss and mine aren't the best of buddies and I'd appreciate a little bit of help."

Sci shrugs, "you help us, you get that chance to bring down RTV."

”Never…”

He hummed. Last thing he was going to do was give the TV the satisfaction of breaking him.

The object head didn’t show a reaction at Sci’s offer, having kind of seen it coming. Someone trying to bond with him, with the same experiences, it seemed a little too perfect. Well, he couldn’t really bring up the energy to feel hurt.

“First of all I suggest you never mention all that again. It’s your one way ticket to disappearing..”, he replied, his tone a bit colder now. “I doubt you can achieve your goal, but who am I to not help out a participant?”

He now turned his back, shielding Sci and himself from the view of the camera. The same camera he now pointed at.

“I can’t move or the boss will come to drag me back personally. What I can do though is keep the eyes off you for a small time frame. Not forever though, the thing that’s watching ain’t stupid.”

The Siren gives him a sheepish smile, "had to get you in somehow. But fine,” she nods. "I can work with that. Thanks. I'll probably signal when we need it."

”Mh-hm.”

He just turns back again, ready to walk off now.

“Just warning you. When you get caught I ain’t bailing you out.”

"Naturally..." The fish sighs quietly, about to take a step away only to turn back with a final thing to say, looking up at Lucian with a guilty and hopeful look.

"Ah... Good talk... I really hope we can have more in the future. Preferably when we're not busy..."

... She really wanted that. Not be burdened with their jobs or plans, with the chains around their ankles from their TV headed superiors. Make an actual acquaintance for once. He seemed cool, after all…

“Maybe. We will see how it goes”, he muttered, before stepping away. He didn’t really have much hope for this to work out.

Sci’s face falls once Lucian steps away, fins laying flat as she gets lost in her emotions for a second or two. But once she snaps back to reality and remembers what she’s supposed to do, she lightly shakes her head, her eyebrows furrowing back to focus mode as she scans the crowd for her… boss.

She steps up next to Scripted once more, arms crossed as Sci looks off to the horizon, not even looking at the bot as she mutters her small success.

“No need for bargain… But we got it.”

The Director hums quietly, a small sly smile tugging at his lips. “Makes it easier for us then, good.” He glances over at the Siren, his smirk falling when she turns her head away from him. The bot silently scoffs, looking forward again and away from Sci too, unbothered to deal with her sentimentality.

Each department has a person assigned as the head who pretty much makes all the final decisions, manages things and presents ideas and reports directly to RTV.

Not all departments have a specific sector assigned to them.

Employees are unaware of Wr3n’s existence and just know him to be some kinda AI, RTV uses to manage things. Wr3n sometimes shows himself through glitching screens or moving surveillance cameras, but never in full person due to some people (for example Meggy) having had bad experiences with the original Wren that even RTV can’t make them get over.

Art Department

The art department is located in the same building block as the Social Media Department.

It’s responsible for the designs for Puzzlevision such as merch, posters and similar.

Works closely with the Social Media Department as it’s the department making the art for ads or webdesigns.

The Art Department has gotten the bonus assignment of handling all the fanmail getting sent their way. The people have seen things.

Lucian’s sister

heavily brainwashed and therefore very admiring of RTV -> Will defend him even on the sketchiest things

ironically she’s the one people like to go to when they have troubles as she’s very sympathetic and friendly

the necklace she wears around her neck is from Lucian

they have a strong bond though it’s lately a a tad strained due to Lucian being unable to talk to his sister about his problems

Colores is the one that manages projects, assigns tasks and offer creative advice at any time

Social Media Department

The Department is located in the same building block as the Art Department.

It’s responsible for making ads, managing social media such as deleting negative comments and boosting RTV’s messages and creating websites. Pretty much everything connected to social media.

Most of the department are unaware of the 4th wall breaking interactions RTV has with tumblr, as it’s kept in a separate room only he and the people he approved of have access to. Most simply assume it’s an inbox for VIP fans.

Type 2, aware.

most mistake her to be a robot due to her sometimes glitching out and switching moods a bit too fast

she’s a bit of a slacker, leaving he subordinates to do most of the work and simply giving directions here and there

people see her as close with RTV though the boss would disagree and on some occasions, Animsay would too

a yapper, a tad too cheerful to be comfortable sometimes and a bit ignoring of others feelings

formerly helped RTV manage the askbox

she knows more than she lets on, but changes topics rapidly or gaslights when things are getting too secretive

Security Department

This Department has stations scattered all around the headquarters. There is a CCTV room, a gym and security checks at entrances.

In general RTV is taking a good look at everyone joining this department. If he figures you’re an insert you either don’t get in or put where you can’t make much damage. Either way, you will be low-ranked and not get anywhere without permission of someone RTV trusts more.

Some security personell is mobile and used for missions outside to either arrest or even eliminate potential threats. -> These people are either heavily brainwashed or loyal enough to go through with such a thing.

Security on-site is usually always armed with handcuffs, taser and Walkie-Talkie, off-site is armed with actual deadly weapons such as guns or whatever that person specializes in.

Combat experience or experience in security is required to join this department.

Assassins, mercenaries and spies are also counted into this department, as long as they work for RTV. Most people think they are just security and don’t know of their special assignments. About the Head of the Department:

the only guy you will see walking through the studio fully armed with guns and sometimes even a rifle

tried to take on RTV himself before ultimately failing and being forced to work for him to keep his sister safe

despite Lucian’s hate for RTV he follows his orders

a pretty chill guy with everyone else, if a little too invested in fighting

Lucian is one of the people knowing about Wr3n

sympathetic towards people who try to stand up against RTV and feels guilt on being the one who brings them down too, but he never voices it openly

very experienced in combat, former mercenary

avoided getting brainwashed due to never having much interest in media and having been on a job

RTV keeps him non-brainwashed out of personal amusement and somewhat appreciating his critical input

Chris Gordman

Film Department

This department consists of the SMG4 SMG3 castle, a building block of studios and an open stage.

The headquarters mainly creates films revolving around the SMG3 gang and RTV, though RTV has settled down to hosting mostly TV shows.

The department includes the main actors (SMG3, Meggy, Tari, Boopkins), background actors, editors and technicians.

They are no stunt-doubles. RTV insist that his film crew does every stunt themselves.

RTV tends to come unannounced and surveillance people’s work.

RTV’s TV dimension is well-known in this department. He sometimes uses it to create the film to save on expenses or when he gets fed up with his crew’s failures. Which is pretty much everytime he bothers to show up.

By far the department with the worst working atmosphere. The main actors tend to bicker and RTV’s perfectionism works people to their bones.

Name: SMG3

as the head of the film department 3 directs most of the movies as well as supervises the process

struggling to replace SMG4 as a leader which leads to countless arguments between him and the rest of the crew -> it was especially bad with Saiko and Bob until they got fired

overworked, stressed, grumpy and constantly questioning himself if he’s doing things right

has phases where he snaps out of the brainwash, so RTV has to use mind control for a while until he “fixed” his memories again

3 has broken texture along his arms, due to Mario almost dying

Administration Department

This Department has their offices located around RTV’s own office.

It consists of secretaries, receptionists and assistants, so pretty much everyone who handles the paperwork and general management.

People that work in this department are in frequent contact with RTV, as well as other departments. They handle calls and questions, survey job applications, hand reports over to RTV as well as the stacks of paper that need his signature.

If RTV is busy (or doesn’t want to bother) they are the ones that can be asked for information instead.

Karen

Maintenance Department

This department includes not only maintenance workers, but also cleaning staff and janitors.

All their stuff gets stored in broom and storage closets all over the headquarters. They do not have a location specifically for them.

People in this department are responsible for making repairs/maintenance whenever needed and keep the headquarters clean.

They have a storage room specifically for lost-and found, but things tend to go missing from there anyway.

Employees that have shown to be trustworthy are given access to almost every room in the studio (excluding the Control Room, the room RTV uses for the Askbox and the lower basement levels.)

Health Department

This department is located further off the other building blocks.

It contains an infirmary, as well as rooms to store medical supplies.

Employees of this department are in charge of treating any kind of injury that does not require the hospital or employees that refuse the hospital. They are also in charge of the occasional lecture about health and safety.

Medical experience is required.

Delievery Department

Similarly to the Health Department, they are stationed a bit further away from the main building block.

This Department is in charge of delivering things all across headquarters, but also all around the Mushroom Kingdom.

Employees are either stationed at headquarters or are drivers who deliver outside the headquarters.

A driving license would be wonderful, but is not required.

About the Head of the Department:

Name: Nicknack (@runrabitrunrunrun )

Mostly takes care of calls regarding shipping, makes sure that employees are doing their jobs and sometimes does hands-on work (caring about customers, making deliveries around the studio).

Efficient hard worker that mostly flies under the radar because she’s known for arguing with RTV.

Hates RTV with a burning passion and while she’s tried to tone it down its still pretty obvious.

Not brainwashed, as she was out with her siblings during the time of the brainwash and noticed what was going on upon returning. So she sent her siblings away with her aunt who lives in a technologically isolated area.

Misses her siblings deeply but she knows they are safer away from her.

Type 2 self-insert and aware of it which keeps her up at night although she has come to accept it.

Lucian is one of the employees she respects the most, although they don’t interact with more than a “Hi, how are you”. Unfortunately Lucian is also the one being sent when she’s walking the line with RTV and although it frustrates her a little, she understands he’s just doing his job.

Can be anything else you can see working at headquarters or in the RTV!Au that doesn’t fit the other departments or is a part of the Resistance.

Here are some examples:

Shop owners, Business people, Coast Guards, Police, Kitchen Staff, Tour guides

Fired/Former Employess

Employees that were fired through a variety of reasons or left on their own accord.

If the person left on their own accord it’s more than likely they left on good terms with RTV or managed to poof before he realized it.

If the person was fired RTV either got tired of them or the animosity goes as far as him trying to imprison or eliminate said person.

The Resistance

People that actively resist against RTV, whether they are part of the Resistance trio (SMG4, Beeg and Mickey) or not.

People under this category are labeled as enemies, outsiders and searched by RTV’s mobile security.

RTV either wants them killed or brainwashed, but always captured.

hello, friend! in s1e11, martha tops and lucian azathoth place a curse on host!vic that manifests like this:

fan content has generally taken this and run with it -- it's both a fun character design element and very thematically interesting for those of us with an interest in theorizing about bianca and the show's meta narrative!

i highly recommend checking out oli's (@/moonpleaser) beautiful art tag if anyone hasn't already and wants to see more host!vic with wings. it's a canon tidbit that's become important to me largely thanks to his art and now i think about it nonstop <3
