#LuceFurnitureCompany of #GrandRapids #Michigan #sideboard designed by either #StanleyHoltStirrup who was trained at #WaringandGillow of #London or #ThomasJohnson who was also from #England and specialized in designing the #GreatLuceLine of #periodrevival #suites ~ This sideboard was offered for sale between 1916 and 1929 and is in the style of #LouisXVI ~ it is constructed of #oak #wood and #painted in the #pastel tones of #goldenyellow and #green found on mid-to-late 18th-century #French styles. The top is #black #marble ~ decoration features #acanthusleaves #laurelleaf #swags and #greekkeymotif as also found in the #LouisXV styles. The #paintings showcase #flowers and #cherubs as were preferred in #art of the 1700s.
