Bare with me, my English is a little rusty but you will get what I mean
It makes me so sad and leaves me without words when someone who is gay, kingdom hearts fan and A SORIKU SHIPPER says: “yeah but disni won’t allow the ship becoming canon”
Context: I work at anime conventions (I’m an illustrator) and a fellow artist and I were talking about kingdom hearts (actually the whole classroom were talking about kh) and I was saying stuff about the neutral pronouns they use (chain of memories) in Japanese and how the English translation messed it up.
And at some point he said that Disney won’t allow… and everyone got quiet (everyone that was present at time were soriku shippers, even my mom) before that, everyone was having a good time talking about sora and riku and how the games are cool etc we even talked about how Donald is the most powerful wizard in the kingdom hearts universe
Even with all the information I have about the games, things I discovered in my wonderful time on twitter with the soriku community. I couldn’t say anything that time and made me realise how people still think “straight is the key” on media…
But even with all that Disney allowed representation on their stuff:
Star vs forces of evil
Owl house
Luca
Onward
Zootopia
Beauty and the beast
Finding dory
Toy Story 4
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Cruella
Lightyear
Strange world
It’s not impossible
The games are telling us a lot of things. There’s no way we are being played

Star Wars: Pa’loa Skywalker
It has just occurred to me that I never posted any of the character reference sheets for any of my Star Wars OCs! I intend to do a complete rewrite of the sequel trilogy in novels/comics. Since Disney proves time and time again how much unoriginal and stupid bullshit they create for the franchise. With that said, I am taking inspiration and pulling from Legends and The Expanded Universe lore as well mixing in my own original work to, hopefully, do justice to the original story that George Lucas created. I’m still working on the storyline for each novels which will be followed accordingly as Episode 7, Episode 8, and Episode 9 as well as scouting to hire an actual author to write the novels! I wish to pour my blood, sweat, and tears into recreating the sequels for a franchise that I hold dear to my heart so I unfortunately will not write the entire novel series myself. I consider myself more of an artist than an author so help will be needed :)
We’ll start off with the main star of the show, Pa’loa Skywalker. She is the only child of Jedi Master and Galactic Hero, Luke Skywalker, and fellow Jedi Master, Saasa Raassiks. A half-Human, half-Togruta hybrid. Born three years after the Battle of Endor in 7 ABY on her mother’s home planet of Zullu, Pa’loa’s birth was one of celebration and joy as it meant a new start to not only the newly freed Galaxy, but a new hope for the rebirth of the Jedi. In the early stages of her life, Pa’loa’s parents discovered that their daughter had natural Force-sensitive abilities that matched the likes of her familial heritage thus she was trained from then on in order to control those gifts. Pa’loa was educated by her father, Luke, on her paternal grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, legacy as a renowned Jedi Knight in the Old Republic and his eventual fall to the Dark Side as the heinous Darth Vader in order to not repeat history. When Pa’loa hit an older age to begin formal Jedi training, Luke choose to take on his own daughter as his Padawan Apprentice with her Mother occasionally stepping in as well. Pa’loa is the firstborn and eldest of the Skywalker grandchildren, having 3 younger cousins by her Aunt Leia and Uncle Han.
Due to her mixed-species ancestry, Pa’loa does not resemble your “typical looking” Human or Togruta. The most notable traits are her soft-pink colored skin, lighter pink facial markings, and Montrals and Lekku that she inherited from her Togruta mother. Dissimilar to Togrutas, she has visible human-like ears that function as her main source of hearing, and only having body hair in the form of eyebrows and eyelashes. Her Montrals and Lekku function a little differently from full Togrutas, such as they remain the same shape and markings from birth and do not grow as the individual ages, the same goes for her facial markings. Likewise, she can use her Montrals for passive echolocation to detect objects but in order to do so her ears must be covered or else it cannot function. She is able to subtly move her Montrals to convey messages and express emotions.

After faltering under the weight of expectation and failing to live up to his family’s formidable reputation once more, Steve is sent away from the kingdom of Hawkins. To where, his father doesn’t care, so long as it’s far enough that he cannot inflict any more damage upon the now-sullied Harrington name.
But Steve and his fellow travelers don’t make it more than a few miles into the gruesome, shadow-bound woods that surround Hawkins before their pilgrimage is set upon by thieves: the sort with sharp knives and little qualm about using them. Tossed from his horse, without a weapon, Steve is certain that he’s a goner. Until, that is, a bow-wielding stranger, who happens to be the current biggest thorn in the kingdom’s side, steps in and saves Steve’s life, changing it forever in the process.
When he’s offered a place among Kas the Betrayer’s merry band of ne’er-do-wells, he knows better than to accept it. But he has nowhere else to go and nothing left to lose. Little does he know, as he takes Kas’ hand and allows himself to be pulled into the world cast to the outskirts of the kingdom’s consideration, that far more than a new home is in store for him.

Unconventional Detective Games
Return of the Obra Dinn, 2018
The maritime mystery game Return of the Obra Dinn by Lucas Pope is almost entirely subversive for a detective game. Everything in the game from its core premise to hyper stylized presentation, is all ambitious and experimental. Every person aboard the Obra Dinn has mysteriously died and you assume the role of an insurance investigator piecing together the horrific events using a magic watch that delivers to you a front seat viewing of a vignette of each person’s demise. Using these dioramas of death, you are charged with recording the manner of death of each and each crewmember and passenger aboard the ship.
Return of the Obra Dinn and its addictively satisfying detective puzzle gameplay left me hungry for more. Playing the game instilled in me a deep love for a good mystery and a desire to solve them. While I love games like Disco Elysium, which stars detectives as its protagonists, the investigation was never really the point. Moreover, a love for the unconventional detective was entrenched in my heart and as an interactive medium, video games are perfect for aspiring would-be detectives.

Overboard! , 2021
The year is 1935, aboard the S.S. Hook, Veronica Villensy throws her husband overboard under the foggy shade of night. In Inkle’s devilishly clever puzzle/visual novel, Overboard! you have eight hours before reaching the ports of New York and in that limited time you must relieve yourself from suspicion and guilt for your husband’s death at any cost. It’s a sort of anti-detective puzzle about getting away with murder which forces you to learn your fellow passenger’s schedules, plant evidence, and be consistently careful with your language lest your words betray you much later.
The DNA of time loop games such as Majora’s Mask and The Sexy Brutale is woven into the gameplay loop of Overboard! It’s a fairly short game taking around 2-3 hours to finish the story but at the benefit of allowing an immense amount of player agency. There is a wide variety of solutions to evading the mighty hand of justice, you are free to travel around the ship on a whim with no direction from the game itself. The only hint system is visiting the chapel and praying to God which is both cleverly diegetic and hilarious.
The nonlinearity of your objective incentivizes logical thinking and experimentation. The puzzle is rewarding much like learning each map and NPC routines in the Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy is. At first you clumsily trip over your words when Major Singh interrogates you but eventually you can get away with murder in style along with netting some pocket money from the life insurance if you pull it all off just right!
The nonlinearity of each puzzle in Overboard! is incredibly refreshing, it just feels organic and natural. Going achievement hunting in this game is its own little puzzle and I still haven’t figured out some of the little secrets it hides from us. It’s a game I can’t put down and haven’t yet been able to stop thinking about and I really recommend giving it a shot since it’s only $15 and only $6 if you catch it on sale.
Pentiment, 2022
Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment was my favorite game of 2022 and enraptured me for long nights as I obsessed over its rich dialogue and gorgeous medieval illumination manuscript inspired art. So much love and research was put into the historical setting, it takes place in 16th Century Bavaria within the town of Tassing is filled with life and character. You play as Andreas Maler, an artist working in an abbey on a hill and whilst attempting to finish your masterpiece, your co-worker and friend, Brother Piero, is falsely accused of the murder of a wealthy Baron who was staying in town. You are sprung into action as you only have a limited amount of time to clear Brother Piero’s name.
You are given a limited amount of time to wander around town, attempting to conduct interviews, deduce motives, and eventually gather enough evidence to bring the culprit to justice. Because of the impending trial, time is ever so precious in Pentiment and you will never have enough time to do everything you want at your leisure. Every moment dwelling on conversation or recreation is time you could have spent digging for answers. In order to pin a suspect you must hone in on what you think is most beneficial for your case like a true detective.
Brother Piero’s freedom is always at the cost of another’s conviction, in Pentiment you must push the blame onto someone else. During your investigations, you find that Sister Matilda, a nun at the abbey, had been assaulted by the late Baron many years ago. This is one of the clearest motives in the game but most physical evidence points in other directions, all the while every nun in the abbey will assure you of her innocence.

Saint John's Eve Festival Bonfire
Convincing the archdeacon (the head of the trial) of Sister Matilda’s guilt is perhaps the easiest of all the suspects to accomplish and Pentiment will not tell you outwardly that Matilda didn’t do it but it doesn’t have to. In a clever subversion, the game never tells you if you caught the culprit in the end. Pentiment, brilliantly, left me to wonder if I made the right choices as the totality of the lethal consequences of my actions weighed on my mind. You can easily convince the archdeacon of someone’s guilt but are you able to convince yourself?
The brutality of the executions should not be understated. You look on helplessly as someone you convicted meets an unwieldy end as they plead, cry, and eventually die. The executioner’s sword rises and falls as it lodges itself into the neck again and again until the head breaks free from the neck. Whether you like it or not, your choices matter in Pentiment and the consequences stare you down with a harsh disposition.
While playing Pentiment I was continually reminded of a line from Rian Johnson’s murder mystery film Knives Out. The titular detective Benoit Blanc (he’s so me by the way) notes that, “...the complexity and the gray lie not in the truth but what you do with the truth once you have it.” The complexity of truth is captured beautifully by Pentiment. In many regards it is a conventional mystery but by weaponizing the player’s need for clear answers it infected my mind for many hours after the credits rolled along with the minds of many others. There are fierce debates and chatter surrounding who really did the killing. Pentiment wasn’t as well talked about as it deserved, with all the games releasing it was overlooked by most. Well, it isn’t exactly for everyone but for the price of $20 it gave me a wealth of dialogue to mull over and wonder about.

Phasmophobia, 2022
A multiplayer ghost hunting spookfest is not exactly what you’d think of when discussing detective games but Kinetic Game’s Phasmophobia is deeply investigative by nature. Intense inspection is at the beating heart of the game with an important twist. Where ordinarily a detective chases after a suspect after the fact, here your suspect is reacting to your every move and can (and will) kill you on a whim. In the game you and up to three other friends venture into a haunted house and gather evidence and clues to determine which of the twenty four ghosts in the game is currently residing in your location.
You and your team will wander out of the safety of your van and into cold, darkened rooms to find clues by checking thermometers, speaking into spirit boxes, and throwing salt all over the floor in hopes of getting the ghost to step in it. Not only can you gather evidence with your camera and UV lights but another layer in your investigation is the behavior of the ghost. Knowing how aggressive each ghost is or how fast it is, is a tremendous asset in your deductive arsenal. The more you know, the more you can whittle the possibilities down until you have your culprit.
But finding the ghost and gathering evidence is just one thing, surviving the ghost is another. Being in the dark and bearing witness to paranormal activity will deplete your sanity and eventually the ghost will target you for a hunt. The front door slamming shut marks the beginning of a hunt, the ghost will manifest physically and chase you down and kill you if you don’t hide in time.

Corpse of my friend, deceased. Moments before I run out of the house in terror.
Phasmophobia is a dangerous balancing act of facing your fears by delving into the darkness in order to find clues and trying desperately to find the ghost type as fast as you can so you can get the hell out of there. The reactivity of the ghost keeps you on edge as you wander the halls gathering data. Speaking into the spirit box may prompt a raspy whisper into your ear or the candle you just lit may be blown out moments after. More interestingly though, is the voice recognition AI that takes advantage of the communication players rely upon. Everything from saying you’re scared to a simple curse word can lead to the ghost favoring you as prey. Even players who stay in the van for too long get targeted by the ghost!
Within Phasmophobia is one of the most unique investigative experiences on the market and definitely a one of a kind multiplayer experience. The comfort of having a buddy to share your terrors with is stripped away when they stop responding to your radio! It’s truly unlike anything I’ve ever played and the developers are constantly updating it, two big thumbs up from the afterlife.
The satisfaction from my first time getting away with murder in Overboard! and the despair when I find out I had the ghost type completely wrong in Phasmophobia are some of my most memorable experiences in gaming! And Pentiment proved to be one of the most well written games I’ve had the pleasure of reading. I sincerely hope you check them out if you haven’t already! They’re all pretty cheap anyway. And once again begging for recommendations in the comments/reblogs so if you know any good, and hopefully weird, detective games let me know! Thanks in advance everyone and I’ll catch you on the flip side :P

Show us the big guns (red snow/beauty/queen/warrior/kansas fic recs) please
Oh, you want them all? I can appreciate that hunger. 😏 Well, let me just send you here, then...
konako's ouat fic rec list
Here. I've updated this list a bit today. I've been adding stories to here since 2013, but I'm afraid a few of them might not be up anymore. BNBS, by @nooneknowshownerdyiam, for example, is no more. (It is, however, an original book, now! Do check it out!) You had to have been in the Red Beauty fandom at the time to appreciate the absolute, mind-blowing wonder of it as it was being written.
I couldn't track down all of the amazing tumblr fics I've read over the years, I apologize! Please, fellow ancient folks of this corner of the fandom, if I'm forgetting anything, send them my way!
But, again, you can find the spontaneous, inspired goodies on @foxofthedesert's blog, under the Ruby Lucas tag. (don't worry about my involvement, I had nothing to do with those...)
@royalarmyofoz and @thegirl20 are Red Queen powerhouses. RoyalArmyOfOz has so many skills, each more dangerous than the last, watch out. TheGirl20 is the Fandom Mom, and her love for this little bubble cannot be overstated. I'm so incredibly grateful for the care, thought and attention she poured into this community for so long. She's a testament to how welcoming fandom culture can be. And I wish all the obscure, cracky ships out there were lucky enough to have her. <3 Thank you, dear.
Aaaand, for your angsty Red Kansas craving, search through @heartsways' drawers. (Who, by the way, should switch the settings of that blog view to the other one, so I CAN SEARCH THE TAGS, PLEASE. I'm dying here!!)
@lex-noctis, whose blog should be freed from the shadow realm by now, also can provide you with incredible visuals, for your poly, slutty desires. But he's included in the list above. Just tagging the Imagery Menace to make sure you don't miss some tumblr shorts!
I apologize once more for not having a longer list. With the Ruby Lucas Discord Server feeding me constantly, I've lost touch with the sacred habit of browsing and diving into AO3's fountain.
Clicking through the tags to fetch the links to my faves, however, I noticed there are MANY new fics added there! As recently as this year!! So, please, don't rely on my faulty reading routine as an indicator of quantity or quality! We have amazing artists/authors sharing their minds with this tiny, starved fandom to this day! And they deserve all the love for their hardwork. <3

How (a selection of) Jane Austen characters would fare on Taskmaster
Catherine Moreland - lateral thinker, always trying to identify the trick in any task. Opens every single door/drawer/box and flips every switch in a room and consequently finds clues that others miss, but sometimes also thinks something's a clue when it's just an object. Best team task teammate: Anne Elliot (she needs the practicality to balance her out)
Elinor Dashwood - Highly organized, strategic and excels at complex logistical tasks. Demolishes all the artistic tasks. Gets frustrated with teammates but doesn't show it. Consistently scores well, but too serious to go after the big laughs. Best team task teammate: Frank Churchill (keeps her on her toes, willing to be the slapstick-y one on the team)
Henry Tilney - Middle of the pack points-wise but fan favourite for his charming nature. Roasts fellow panelists but in such a wholesome way that they love him even more for it. Takes the film crew out for a pint after they wrap. Best team task teammate: Literally anyone, this man makes friends wherever he goes.
Charles Bingley - Rushes into every task with unstoppable enthusiasm but does not always read the instructions completely. Having a lovely time throughout. Becomes best friends with the entire Taskmaster ecosystem, later goes on Off Menu podcast and says his favourite starter is white soup. Best team task teammate: Elinor Dashwood (let's face it, he needs a strong leader)
Elizabeth Bennet - Roasts Little Alex Horne constantly which LAH interprets as flirting and is intensely uncomfortable. Greg finds this discomfort hilarious. Does musical tasks poorly but with charming self-deprecation. Moderately competitive. Best team task teammate: Georgiana Darcy (will follow her literally anywhere)
Frank Churchill - Flashes cash, Al Murray style. Would absolutely pay £150 to take a pea to Slough. Very fully commits to any bit he's doing, probably the most likely to wear a wacky costume. Overdoes it on gift-giving tasks. Accidentally harmful towards Little Alex Horne. Best team task teammate: Caroline Bingley (focused and ambitious)
Henry Crawford - Cheats with some success (more Noel Fielding than Dave Gorman). Has a plan for team tasks and is good at wearing people down until they start to agree with him. Most likely to get disqualified for stepping on the red green. Best team task teammate: Mr. Collins (total follower, will do anything he says)
Caroline Bingley - Highly competitive. Somewhat conniving approach to tasks, possibly tries to cheat, definite doesn't succeed (Dave Gorman type). Tries to compliment Greg a lot but it doesn't work. Best team task teammate: Charlotte Lucas (practical, but ambitious enough to take a punt on a questionable plan)
Emma Woodhouse - Gets in her own way constantly, often by thinking she understands the task when she doesn't. Will be halfway through doing something totally incorrectly before she realizes her mistake. Best team task teammate: Fanny Price (analytical thinker)
Fanny Price - Continually nervous and dismayed. Strong Joe Thomas energy. Scores well because she reads the task carefully and follows it to the letter. Strong team player unless her team is trying to bend the rules. Hates watching herself in the studio sessions. Best team task teammate: Elizabeth Bennet (gives her secondhand confidence, is very encouraging)
Marianne Dashwood - comes up with a plan immediately and sticks to it no matter how badly its going. Not really attentive to her teammates in the team tasks. Has an Iain Sterling-style moment of uncomfortable self-reflection while watching herself in a task. Best team task teammate: Mrs. Croft (eminently in touch with reality)

Obituary: The son who soared: Jeff Buckley
Date: June 6, 1997
From: The Guardian (London, England)
Publisher: Guardian News & Media
Document Type: Obituary
Byline: ADAM SWEETING
FEW ROCK business careers began more tantalisingly than that of Jeff Buckley, who has drowned in the Mississippi river, aged 30 (his body was found on Wednesday this week). In 1991, record producer Hal Willner, known for assembling imaginative, star-studded tributes to Charles Mingus and Kurt Weill, put together a tribute concert for Jeff's father, Tim Buckley, at St Ann's Church, Brooklyn, New York. Tim had died of a heroin overdose in 1975, aged 28, but his early death ignited a slow-burning musical legend. It was founded on his recorded legacy in which soul, blues and jazz influences mingled freely, the process stirred by his arrestingly elastic vocal style.
His son Jeff, born in California during Tim's brief marriage to Panama-born Mary Guibert, had always been ambivalent about his father. Tim left Mary when Jeff was six months old, and his son was brought up by his mother and stepfather during a peripatetic childhood. 'We moved so often I had to put all my stuff in paper bags,' Jeff recalled. 'My childhood was pretty much marijuana and rock 'n' roll.'His decision to participate in Willner's tribute event launched Buckley Junior as a new phenomenon on the New York music scene, and simultaneously affirmed his quasi-mythic credentials, particularly when he performed his father's song Once I Was. 'It bothered me that I hadn't been to his funeral, that I've never been able to tell him anything,' said Jeff. 'I used that show to pay my last respects.'
Thus launched in public, Buckley was rescued from a string of odd jobs by joining the avant-garde combo Gods & Monsters, which featured Pere Ubu's ex-bassist Tony Maimone and Captain Beefheart's erstwhile guitarist Gary Lucas. But it was more a loose group of individuals than a real band and Buckley quit in early 1992 to pursue a solo career.
He began performing at small Manhattan clubs, particularly the Cafe Sin-e, where record company executives and A&R men were soon arriving by the limo-full, waving chequebooks. 'I went into those cafes because I really felt I had to go to an impossibly intimate setting where there's no escape, where there's no hiding yourself,' he explained.
Buckley's remarkable voice (his most obvious inheritance from his father) and movie-star looks left nobody in doubt that he was a star in the making, though the eclecticism of his shows confused some listeners. Buckley would pluck songs out of the air as the mood took him. It might be something by Van Morrison, the Hollies or Big Star, or a tune made famous by Nina Simone or Mahalia Jackson.
With a hippie-esque suspicion of large corporations, he turned down several deals before signing with Columbia at the end of 1992, apparently because he knew and trusted the label's A&R man Steve Berkowitz. The company previewed their new acquisition with a live EP, Live At Sin-e, following which Buckley travelled upstate to Bearsville to start work on his debut album, Grace.
The disc was released in 1994 to instant critical adulation. The sleeve pictured Buckley clutching a microphone and looking poetically dishevelled, while the music inside was a cornucopia of rockers, ballads, hymns and even a bold rendition of Benjamin Britten's Corpus Christi Carol, by no means standard rock 'n' roll fare. His voice was wild, passionate and sensual. If his music was hard to describe in a soundbite, it was bursting with hidden depths and infinite potential. Grace won Buckley the Best New Artist award from Rolling Stone magazine in 1995.
Buckley's inquisitiveness and musical ambition earned him acceptance across a broad spectrum of fellow performers. Elvis Costello brought him over in 1995 to perform at London's Meltdown Festival, where he easily held his own among string quartets and jazz ensembles, and last year he featured on Patti Smith's comeback album, Gone Again. He was also a fan of Eastern music, particularly the Islamic devotional Qawwali songs of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Buckley had been in Memphis since February, recording new material. He decided to go swimming in the Mississippi, fully clothed and carrying his guitar, but was apparently pulled under by the wash from a passing tug.
Jeff Buckley, rock singer, born August 1, 1966; died May 29, 1997

The Aesthetic Disparity of Padmé Amidala’s Dresses in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Part 1
The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, directed by George Lucas, introduced audiences to an era of galactic grandeur and political intrigue, particularly through the character of Padmé Amidala. As the Queen of Naboo and later a senator, Padmé's wardrobe features elaborate, highly stylized outfits that, while visually striking, appear out of place within the broader aesthetic of the Star Wars universe. This essay explores why her costumes often seem ridiculous in context, particularly when compared to other characters, including those of her own background and social standing.
Overly Extravagant Designs in a Practical Universe
One of the defining characteristics of Star Wars is its lived-in, functional aesthetic. The Original Trilogy, in particular, set a precedent for a universe where costumes reflect the personalities, professions, and environments of characters. Even in the Prequel Trilogy, most characters—such as Jedi, senators, and military officers—wear practical and culturally cohesive attire. In contrast, Padmé’s wardrobe consists of excessively elaborate gowns, towering headpieces, and layers of unnecessary ornamentation.
Take, for example, her regal outfits in The Phantom Menace. While it is understandable that Naboo royalty would dress formally, her queenly attire pushes beyond the realm of believable ceremonial fashion. Her red gown with a built-in lighting system and her massive, stiff collars seem impractical for anything other than standing still. The sheer impracticality of such clothing raises questions about whether these designs prioritize function or merely aim for spectacle.
Lack of Consistency with Naboo Culture
While Naboo is depicted as an artistic and refined society, Padmé’s dresses appear exaggerated even in comparison to other Naboo figures. Her handmaidens, who are meant to blend in with her as decoys, wear relatively simple, flowing robes, suggesting that Naboo fashion favors elegance over excess. Likewise, the Naboo military and politicians, such as Governor Sio Bibble, wear structured, yet reasonable clothing that aligns with their roles. Padmé’s outlandish ensembles seem disconnected from this aesthetic, as if she belongs to a completely different culture.
Moreover, when Padmé transitions from queen to senator in Attack of the Clones, one might expect her wardrobe to shift toward the more understated robes worn by other senators, such as Bail Organa or Mon Mothma in the Original Trilogy. Instead, she continues wearing elaborate dresses, sometimes more suited to a high-fashion runway than a political chamber. Her rainbow-colored lake dress and backless corset outfit are particularly jarring, as they bear little resemblance to anything worn by her fellow politicians.
Unfitting for Her Character and Role
Padmé’s character is depicted as a strong-willed leader, diplomat, and warrior when necessary. However, her wardrobe often contradicts this image. Compared to Leia Organa, her daughter in the Original Trilogy, Padmé's extravagant clothing makes her seem passive and ornamental rather than active and commanding. Leia’s outfits—ranging from her practical combat gear on Hoth to her simple yet regal white gowns—enhance her role as a leader and fighter. Padmé, on the other hand, is frequently weighed down by heavy fabrics and impractical designs that do not suit her dynamic personality.
Even within the Prequel Trilogy, Padmé sometimes dons more functional attire, such as her Geonosis battle outfit in Attack of the Clones or her senator’s robes in Revenge of the Sith. These outfits feel far more appropriate for her character, proving that when her costumes align with the rest of the Star Wars aesthetic, she appears more natural within the universe. Unfortunately, these moments are rare, and the majority of her wardrobe consists of ostentatious dresses that contrast with the otherwise grounded world around her.
Inconsistent with the Overall Theme of Star Wars
The Star Wars franchise is known for its universal themes of heroism, struggle, and rebellion. The characters of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, for instance, are defined by their personal journeys, with their clothing choices supporting their respective roles. Anakin's gradual shift from Jedi to Sith is reflected in the change of his clothing—his robes growing darker, his armor becoming more menacing. Similarly, Obi-Wan’s traditional Jedi robes and simple attire underscore his wisdom, humility, and connection to the Force.
Padmé’s outfits, on the other hand, are more ornamental than reflective of any internal conflict or journey. The clothes are not a visual cue for her development but a distraction. Rather than showcasing her growth from a youthful queen to a determined senator, her fashion makes it appear as though she is constantly playing a role rather than evolving. The outfits also do not align with the rebellion and strife occurring throughout the galaxy. Where other characters are suffering or fighting for survival, Padmé appears to be a symbol of wealth, privilege, and a bygone era—an odd stance for someone deeply involved in the fight for democracy.
Conclusion
Padmé Amidala’s costumes in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, while visually striking, often appear ridiculous and out of place when compared to the rest of the universe. Their excessive ornamentation contradicts the practical and cohesive designs of most other characters, including those from her own culture and political sphere. Instead of reinforcing her role as a capable leader, her wardrobe frequently reduces her to a decorative figure, undermining her character’s intended strength and agency. While Star Wars is a space fantasy that embraces stylistic variety, Padmé’s outfits push the boundaries too far, making her appear disconnected from the world she inhabits.

She had taken Will Byers’s disappearance very seriously considering she understood that it could have been Mike had it not been Will and the fact that he is Mike’s best friend.

5. Marianne believes that through her fashion style and writing is the best way that she expresses herself as it’s something that helps define herself and what she stands for.
6. As a child, she had harbored a somewhat crush on a close family friend and Will Byers’s older brother, Jonathan as the two had became good friends but eventually, grew apart and her crush on him ended once she became friends with Steve Harrington in Junior High.
7. People oftentimes confuse and mistake Marianne and Steve for being a couple which they both deny with seeing each other as solely friends and nothing more.

Regina sees a perfectly self-serving opportunity here, and asks the smitten Hawkins to tutor Chloe free of charge, knowing Hawkins will do anything to get closer to her. A tale of unlikely heroes and myths are made real in this debut graphic novel series about a "bad" demon trying to find her place in the underworld-but she'll have to save it first! Meesh is a bad demon. "Bad" in that she always sees the good in those around her-which isn't how a demon is meant to feel or act. Bullied by the other demons, twelve-year-old Meesh is more likely to be found reading magazines from Plumeria City-the fairy realm-and fangirling about the fairy princesses. But when disaster strikes and all of demon-kind is threatened, Meesh must journey to other worlds in search of help. As luck would have it, she meets a fairy princess right away. Renowned singer and actor Omar Apollo reached a significant milestone in his career with the release of his new movie, ‘Queer.’ This project, which celebrates LGBTQ+ culture through the lens of cinema, features his bold move as he shares an impactful full-body nude scene as part of the film's exploration of sexuality and identity. In honor of this groundbreaking moment, Apollo embraced the release with pride, drawing attention from fans and media alike. The Allure of ‘Queer’: A Star-Studded Cast ‘Queer,’ directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, also features Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey. The film adapts elements from William S. Burroughs's literature, allowing audiences to embark on a journey with the character William Lee, an expatriate in Mexico. Capturing the essence of Burroughs's narrative, the movie delves into the themes of identity and self-discovery as Lee navigates through various bars in search of intimate connections with other men. Omar Apollo’s Role and Daring Performance Omar Apollo takes on an intriguing role early in the film where his character encounters Lee in a bar. The tension builds as their scenes unfold with palpable eroticism, leading to an audacious full-body scene starring Apollo. This portrayal not only adds depth to his character but also serves as a testament to his dedication to the craft of acting. The chemistry between Apollo's and Craig's characters offers a powerful commentary on the complexities of queer relationships, driven by authenticity and raw emotion. [caption id="attachment_16441" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Discover Omar Apollo's groundbreaking role in the 2025 film 'Queer,' featuring a striking nude scene alongside Daniel Craig. Celebrate Apollo's fearless portrayal exploring LGBTQ+ themes and identity.[/caption] Celebrating With Enthusiasm: Streaming Release and Social Media Buzz Earlier this week, the film’s distribution company, A24, announced ‘Queer’ is now available for streaming in the United States via platforms like Prime Video and iTunes, offering more access to this enthralling cinematic piece. To celebrate this new journey into digital domains, Omar Apollo used Instagram as his launchpad, posting a nude photo from a sensual scene with Craig. Although the original still has an edit employing a playful tongue-out emoji for modesty, fans have assured through social comments that the film itself remains unaltered. Apollo's post was met with curiosity and excitement from fans and industry peers. Fellow artist and friend Troye Sivan’s inquisitive comment, "Which platform?" highlights the anticipation that ‘Queer’ has generated among audiences eager to experience its narrative. Behind the Scenes: Apollo’s Thoughts on Nudity and On-Screen Vulnerability In previous interviews, Omar Apollo candidly shared his feelings regarding the nude scene he shot with Daniel Craig. Describing his initial response to the proposition, Apollo expressed immediate enthusiasm, emphasizing the honor of acting alongside Craig. In an interview with Out magazine last year, he remarked, “They called me and told me about the scene and how sexual it was. I immediately said yes. It’s Daniel Craig. Of course, I’m in.” Apollo’s comfort with vulnerability on screen originates from his personal experiences. “It wasn’t something that scared me,” he explained, “I was like: ‘It’s sort of my reality.’ It’s nothing new to me.” Such openness reflects his commitment to authenticity in both his professional and personal life, resonating with audiences who appreciate the representation of LGBTQ+ narratives. As Omar Apollo continues to explore diverse roles, his participation in ‘Queer’ marks a significant chapter not only for his career but also in the broader discourse of LGBTQ+ visibility in media. This film exemplifies how art and cinema can spark discussions about identity, love, and the complexities within different relationships.
