Tug ‘o’ War
Another Commission!
They asked for their OC with Sky..... Let’s be real. At this point you all know who this is XD
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
When Sky first saw them, he knew that he wanted to be their friend.
They weren’t too excited with the idea though. They often avoided him when they could and struggled to meet him in the eye.
Which was fine. At first anyway. Sky was willing to work around whatever they may have been going through. Fledge is similar in that regard, but that didn’t stop Sky from interacting with him and befriending the young man. So Sky refused to let it stop him from interacting with Enno as well.
That was unfortunately easier said than done.
He tried to keep up with them and meet them at their level but they always seemed to find an excuse to get away from him. Was he scary? Did he intimidate them? Was it something he did when they first met that had them hating him? It hurts to imagine.
So Sky had to pause from interacting with them. He watched them interact with the others though. They seem to get along great with Twilight and Wind. They joked and rough housed. Enno seemed to constantly seek out either of their attention but Sky couldn’t figure out what he was doing differently than they were.
Once Sky was paired up with Twilight (seeing as Enno was paired up with Wind), Sky took it upon himself to get to the bottom of it. He had to be missing something.
“Hey… Twilight…” Sky pokes the arm of his companion. “I have a question.”
The other turned around and hiked up his scabbard on his back. “Sure, what’s up?”
Sky rubbed his arms, feeling a strange bout of butterflies in his stomach. “You talk to Enno a lot so you know them better than I do at this point. Would you say that I scare them? Or did I do something to get them to hate me?”
Twilight paused. “...What?”
“Yeah-! Because every time I try to talk to them, they always seem to try to drop out of the conversation. They look at everything but me. But they don’t have a problem with you, or Wind or the Old Man -especially not Warrior. They get along fine with Legend and Wild and they even dote on Hyrule. They even look Four in the eye! Am I doing something wrong?” Sky huffed. He didn’t intend to let those amount of words slip out of his mouth but the more he thought about it, the more he realized that clearly he was singled out. He just couldn’t figure out why.
Twilight continues to stare at Sky, not letting any thought slip onto his face. “And you haven’t thought of any reason why?”
“I wouldn’t be asking you if I would have been able to figure it out on my own.” Sky gripes. “I’ve tried. I’m still lost. Help me.”
Twilight finally begins to show signs of amusement on his face. “I was more or less sworn to secrecy, but I can point you in the right direction.”
“Sworn to secrecy?” Sky echoes under his breath. He gasps. “So you do know!”
“Yes. Most of us do, actually.” Twilight shrugs. “It’s obvious.”
“...Obv-... obvious?”
“Yes.” Twilight isn’t trying to be mean on purpose, but the chosen hero of Hylia can be quite dense. “Look. At best, just flirt with them and watch their reaction.”
“Wouldn’t that be the worst thing I could do?”
“Most of the time.” Twilight wants to shake him. “But in these circumstances, it’ll work like a charge. Just try it.”
Sky did not, in fact, want to try it.
It seemed like the biggest jerk move, to hit on them, when he clearly makes them uncomfortable as it is. Not only does he think that it would make the problem worse but he’s not exactly inclined to come off as Warrior does from time to time.
But as days went by and nothing seemed to get better, Sky found himself getting more and more desperate for answers. He just didn’t know what it was that made them avoid him so much. He was a good guy! Right? Oh god, what if he wasn’t? What if he ruined his chances before he started? What if he makes it worse? What if there’s no way for him to fix this?
He gets paired with Enno for the day as they travel.
The walk is awkward and silent. Sky is used to silence but there’s an underlying hint of dying inside between the two of them. Given by the way they keep their head down the entire time, Sky thinks that he’s not half wrong with his intuition.
Twilight words echo in his head. It’s still a terrible idea. But now that they’re alone… it’s tempting. He can start slow and steady. Soft and sincere. Maybe they just got off on the wrong foot. He should start by saying something nice. Maybe that would loosen them up.
“I like your jacket.” Sky says quietly. “It looks soft.”
Enno freezes. They stop dead in their tracks but keep their head down. Sky can almost hear the gears turning in their head. Clearly, they weren’t expecting it.
They cough and nod. And start walking again, if a little faster than before.
Sky matches their pace easily. He sighs. A failed attempt. Try again?
“I also think your markings are cool.” Sky swallows the bitter pill that his nerves have bundled up together. “Are they tattoos like Twilights… or closer to the markings from the Old Man?”
Is that a personal question? Sky cringes internally. He’s never been this bad at socializing. When did his skills tank?
They actually trip over their own feet for a moment before finding their voice. It’s quiet and a tad forced. “Um… n-no. It’s more like… the marks of my people.”
“Your people?” Well that’s the most he’s ever heard from them. This can go somewhere! “I’ve never seen markings like that on anybody. Where are you from?”
They curl a little into themselves, hiding their nose behind their cloak. “It’s far away. …I doubt you’ve heard of it. Twilight knows though. Even if he goes by the same thing even though it was my name first.”
Wait… what? Sky tilts his head. “Do you know Twilight? Have you met him before this whole journey.”
They seem to freeze again, their eyes widening ever so slightly. “Well… yes and no. He’s… been to my home before and I’ve been to his but we’ve never actually met before this.”
“Interesting.” Sky nods and hooks his thumbs through his belt. Maybe Twilight knew more about them than Sky was willing to bet. Ok then, small flirt to test out his theory. “Do you miss it?”
“Sometimes.” They adjust the cloak over their nose. They’re still trying to hide from him but they’re talking at least so that’s a start.
Sky nods again, trying to appear nonchalant. “Is it pretty?”
“Very.”
“Do all people look like you?” Sky has a line in his head that he wants to say but he needs to build to it or else it might not work.
Enno hums, or whines (?), and shakes their head. “I’m the only one like me.”
“Shame.” Sky says. “But I suppose unique beauty is all the more stunning when it stands out amongst the common design.”
He wants to kick himself. His delivery was horrible.
Sky only manages to stop himself from face palming before Enno makes a high keening sound. It keeps Sky away from his own self judgment as he turns to look at them in concern. “Are you ok?”
“I’m fINe.” They squeak. A light pulsates from their markings, catching Sky’s attention.
He finds himself smiling. “Incredible.”
“What is?” They sound horrified.
Sky doesn’t miss a beat. “You are.”
They put their hand over their mouth, even though their cloak was already doing all of the work. Their markings pulsate once more, brighter and more vibrant than before. Sky grins in response to it. It’s stunning. The way the teal and black mend into the white light. If he was certain they were tattoos before, here is his proof that they’re not.
“It’s beautiful.” He breathes out. Sky can feel himself forgetting where he is and who he’s talking to. But it’s so genuine, he can’t seem to stop the words as they fall out of his mouth. “You’re beautiful. Have you always been able to do this?”
“Stop.” They say.
Sky takes a step back to give them space. He might have overstepped his boundaries.
“I’m sorry.” He says automatically.
“No, that’s not-” They cut themselves off, seemingly growing more frustrated by the second. “Not you. Hold on. I can’t. Wait.”
Sky waits.
“Are you ok?” He wants to take a step closer but he’s afraid that there’s going to be major repercussions if he tries to intervene.
“Not your fault!” They yell, probably louder than they were intending. They wince at their own volume and wrap their arms around themselves. “Just- hold- hold on… I’m trying.”
The light pulsates again. It’s even brighter than the last time and each new wave of light seems to last longer than the first.
Sky can’t even begin to comprehend what’s happening. “Did… did I do something wrong?”
“Nope!” They yell and something strange happens. The light pulsates again but it stays, blinding Sky for one terrifying and confusing second. He reacts in the only way he can. By holding his breath and covering his face as he steps away.
Sky’s breath gets caught in his throat and he lowers his arms from his face once the light has died down completely.
“You!” A new voice screams.
Sky blinks. There’s two people there… where there was once only one. The man gets up faster than the young woman and manages to tackle her down before she can dive towards Sky. Sky steps away, putting his hands up in surrender. There’s no thoughts in his head- only information processing mode.
What just happened? What is happening?
“Twilight!” The young man yells. “There’s no reason to attack him! Leave him be!”
“Do you know how hard it is to hold ourselves together as it is?” ‘Twilight’, who is not his teammate, screams back. “It’s his fault. He’s too cute and pretty and nice!”
Sky points to himself intelligently. “M-me?”
Twilight screams in indignation. The other, which has yet to be named, looks to Sky apologetically. The young man is blushing. “Sorry. We’ll fix it in a moment. Just give us some time to get a grip and we’ll be back to your Enno.”
“...My Enno...” Sky repeats.
“Dusk!” The woman summons a massive battle ax and swings it. She doesn’t get far with it, seeing as ‘Dusk’ is pinning her arms down as he holds her. “So help me! Let! Me! Go!”
“No!” He yells. “I’m not letting you hurt him. Calm down.”
“Never tell a woman to calm down!”
“I’ve never been more lost.” Sky admits, sagging in on himself. “Can we start from the beginning?...Maybe with the whole ‘he’s pretty’ part?”
Twilight screams again.
Dusk only seems to blush deeper. “It’s a long story, even if she’s right.”
Slowly becoming exhausted, Twilight starts to calm down. Dusk continues talking. “We’re both Enno.”
“Both of you?” Sky points. He receives a nod in reply. “Enno is …two people?”
“Enno is one person.” Twilight huffs and crosses her arms, dropping her battle ax. It just misses Dusk’s foot. “But between the two of us we both make up Enno. It’s not like there’s two voices. We meld. We mix. We are Enno.”
Sky takes a long and deep suffering breath. “Can… Can this be fixed?” He asks, if only because he’s afraid that it’s permanent. “Is there a way to do that?”
“Yes.” Dusk replies, mirroring the same long experienced suffering sigh. “We just need to get a grip. Like I said.”
“You’re such a jerk.” Twilight pouts.
Sky nods, keeping his mouth shut. He’s doomed.

Your dear double anon has returned
Anyway, I hope you had a good night's sleep and breakfast, because I'm back with more thoughts on LU I had this at 4am when I couldn't sleep (that's exactly why this sounds so far-fetched and mixed, perhaps a little meaningless(?)
I've been thinking a lot about Villain Chain lately, you know, by cloudninetonine. Also in humans are hylian space orc reader but that comes later and thinking a lot about cloudninetonine basically since I reread his/her mess au.
This is all set in mess au, in fact.
So far I have only found three writings that involve them and I have not found any more, which is a shame, because I'm interested in the concept of when a hero is a villain and a villain is a hero, I've always been a fan of role reversals in any context.
And one of the writings I read was about how they became like this when their guide/Reader/player died and they made a huge statue for them as a tomb and they see the guide/Reader/player from the original chain and kidnap them to maintain it and so on (this no has minimal relevance, I just woke up very talkative, although I'm sure I sent you messages yesterday)
Yeah, wrong, but I've kept them in mind because, remember the yandere version of cloudninetonine's chain? Where they're older and guide/reader/player isn't really their guide/reader/player but they think it is? Well, here I came up with an interesting continuation.
guide/reader/player is not really the guide from the original chain either.
Whether it's Dark Link or Villain Chain, they corner the reader and are like 'aha! You have no escape, little guide' and with a blank expression guide simply (when the adrenaline and fear have passed), grabs the blade of the sword that is pointing at their neck and bends it.
Here is the first clue that something is wrong, if it is Dark Link, whether by this action or not, he realizes that there is something wrong with the guide, it is not as he remembers it. If it is Villain Chain, there is bewilderment because the guide who described that shadow that plans to betray them did not resemble the guide they had before them who was not affected by magic, potions or weapons.
is not the guide that Dark Link remembers or that he described to Villain Chain because it turns out that is not the guide either, Reader is a guide but not of that specific chain.
Either because Hylia was confused or she searched for a stronger guide/Reader to stop Dark Link she simply looked for a Reader/Guide who she felt had even a modicum of power over the Hylians and found Guide/Reader from Human are Hylians Space Orc.
But that's where my train of thought ends.
Looking back after getting a proper night's sleep and reading this out loud, I feel like this was so far-fetched but my tired, sleep-deprived brain couldn't figure it out in time.I'm not particularly satisfied with these ideas, but perhaps I'll salvage something for the future.
Or maybe I'm thinking of ideas for a Villain Guide/Reader/player getting to know everyone, seeing as how no one has really done anything like this and some players can be evil in video games.
—double anon (since you already know my problem with Tumblr and the fact that I have to send at least two messages for one to arrive, I wasn't sure if I should give myself a name because my attention span It's null and void and I bounce from fandom to fandom every week. and I disappear the moment I decide to give myself a anon name, but I've been paying attention to Linked Universe for over a month, and I think that's reason enough to know that I won't disappear anytime soon, although I have your Tumblr profile saved in my Google bookmarks anyway so I'll still come visit even if it disappears)
This is a doozy. (Quite the long one, tad overwhelming. 😅) I’m not that familiar with villain chain? Let’s see what I can do with what I can figure out.
One thing I realized is that When Reader sees how the Villain Chain practically worships them, they’re baffled.
To this Reader, adventure games are meant to be just that, games.
The idea that she’d be revered as an actual deity is unsettling, and she’s torn between keeping up the act to protect herself or leveling with them. If she lets on that she isn’t their Guide, the Chain only becomes more obsessed, deciding she needs saving from whatever memories she’s ‘lost.’
And if she realized the Chain has suffered from the loss of THEIR Guide, Reader tries to gently reason with them, perhaps offering compassion?
Big mistake sadly. The moment they show even a hint of softness, the Chain decides Reader has truly “returned” to them. They double down on their devotion, misinterpreting kindness as affection, and it fuels their possessiveness.
To jog ‘memories,’ the Villain Chain might recreate locations or scenes from the past with the old Guide.
They could go to absurd lengths ya know, clearing whole areas, painting fake backdrops, even dressing up in the same worn, ragged clothes they had when they met the Guide. Reader plays along, but she’s constantly trying to figure out an escape plan, as she now knows nothing she says or does will convince them she’s not their Guide.
The Chain takes turns watching Reader, monitoring her behavior for signs that she’s “returning” to them. This means Reader can hardly go anywhere without someone at her side or in the shadows. Even a sigh or a glance could be analyzed endlessly.
Twilight would try to remind Reader of the old days by isolating her in forests or mountainous regions, telling tales of their past escapades.
He thinks being in these familiar places will awaken her ‘true self.’ But when this doesn’t work, he only becomes more frustrated, insisting that Reader must remember and that her real memories are just buried.
Hyrule would repeatedly try to heal Reader, convinced they’re suffering from some curse.
Every time Reader resists or tells him to stop, he assumes it’s the curse talking and only becomes more insistent, going as far as sneaking healing spells while she’s asleep or distracted.

LINK has always been rather thin. That was especially the case when he was a child. Something about a Kokiri child's diet not fitting what a Hylian needed always kept him frail.
When you both were children, he had quickly gotten used to you plucking his arm when it was idle to compare his lack of fat to your surplus.
(He never minded. He always looked forward to being reminded why he put one foot in front of the other every day during his fight against Ganon, or repeated cycle after cycle when it came to Majora.)
(Funnily enough, you had always made fun of him for being shorter than you as a child as well. You always mentioned he needed to drink more milk and eat more cuccos so he'd one day pass you.)
It was when you were able to cook more than simple meals and wouldn't risk burning down your cottage that you would invite (force) Link over more often than you already have.
Link had always tried to limit his visits to when he absolutely needed to. Free food, bed, shelter, care, supplies, clothes, bathes (the list was endless), and whatnot were always appreciated, but he never wanted to become to comfortable lest he wake up one day (or night. Or afternoon. His internal clock was always ruined when it came to sleeping at your cabin) and decide not return to the world outside.
He does his best to turn down any seconds, or thirds, or fourths, or fifths, and so on you may offer him when he does stay long enough for you to finish whatever extravagant meal you made just for him.
Past experiences often make him sick (with trauma or physically) and result in him vomiting his food, but there's always more from you to replace what he had just eaten and the meal before (if he remembered to eat it).
What he can't finish at the table (or on the sofa, or in the bed), he takes with him when he leaves. Link is respectful in all meanings of the word and hates to leave anything to waste.
When it comes to thanks, he either finds ways to help around your cottage or brings back items from new regions for you to cook. Whether it be repairing the busted bathroom door you've been complaining about before fixing your water faucet so the pressure is what you want it to be, or bringing back a spice the Gorons specialize in you've mentioned wanting to try, Link typically feels his gifts fall lackluster when compared to your treatment of him.
(He trusts your skill and creativity enough to know you won't poison him on accident. He never brings back any recipes or instructions either if it's not a dangerous material.)
(He's always excited to try whatever new dish you've concocted, so his only condition is that you wait for his return to cook whatever it is he brought you. "A celebration, of sorts," he calls it.)
A look in a lone puddle had told him his cheeks had gotten fatter. He supposes he now understands why he was refused entry into one of the pubs when he had to retrieve Malon and Cremia's uncle.
He had noticed that the details of his arms were less visible through his shirts when a Goron had pinched one,— not in the same way you did when you were younger— he had mentioned that he had an amount of muscle and fat to be proud of before asking him to join a tournament. Any attempts prior to were quickly shut down.
During a day of horseback archery with the Gerudo, the sweltering sun had gotten to him enough that he had to remove his tunic and the shirt underneath to feel some sort of relief. One of the women who were training him took a look at his stomach and nodded approvingly, mentioning that he should praise his soon-to-be spouse for feeding him so well.
The last nail in the coffin came when he was riding Epona into Castle Town. His tunic felt uncomfortably small and his tights (curse those damned tights) felt as thought they were stretched more across the expanse of his thighs than they usually were.
He's back in your cottage when he finally vocalizes his thoughts, preferring you to any other tailor or seamstress in the country. "I've gotten to big for my clothes," he either sighs or signs to you while eating. His gaze held a thousand yards in them, idly watching his clothes move with the wind.
The tunic, hat, tights, boots hang outside the window on a string connected to your shed. They had to be washed after a (admittedly well-planned— even if they don't think) ambush by a hoard of chu-chus.
You throw a hazy look to them before returning to the bowl you were tirelessly mixing. You were making dinner, he thinks, or maybe it was in preparation for the big breakfast you were making with the variety of bread from the Gerudo he brought back.
You'd already given him a large snack earlier.
The thought makes him look down at the plate in his lap. Every spot of it was filled and piled with bread, and eggs, and meats, and jams. He couldn't see the white bottom of it even as he pushed and prodded around.
He takes a bite of it gratefully.
"I saw you before you left not even three days ago. You fit everything fine enough to me." At some point you had stopped stirring and held the bowl out to him. Link grabs something off the plate and dips it in without a thought, eating it before responding with a hum of approval. "I can make adjustments to then, if you'd like."
You leave the bowl with him before attending to something on the stove.
"Please," he responds, halfway through another bite of the (what he now recognized as) Gerudo bread and cocoa dip you had made. "Different pants would be nice, though. It'd be a nice excuse to finally get rid of those tights." Both tasted sweet by themselves, he realized, but left a calmer aftertaste that he'd like to savor.
"You've always hated the tights," you hum in response, moving from the stove to the coolers that he'd built you after bringing you a large fish that only lived in Zora's Domain. "What would you want to move on to now? Leggings? Shorts?"
Link watches you remove a pitcher from one of the coolers. He isn't sure how long it's been in there (he doesn't even remember watching you make it), but he assumes you took some ice out so the pink liquid wouldn't freeze over into complete ice.
He watches you try to take a cup from one of the cupboards, watching you struggle to grab his favorite one from the higher shelves.
He stands from the chair sat just outside the kitchen (he liked to watch you cook when you had the time), placing the bowl and plate on one of the many cleared counters (you liked to clean as you worked), and grabs the cup for you.
Link lowers his head with his hand when he hands the cup off, head resting upon the crown of yours as he watches you pour the pink liquid into it, idle arms wrapping around your waist as he makes some slick comment about eating enough milk and cuccos for your liking.
You don't elbow him in the stomach like you might have when you were younger and he doesn't hold the cup above your head teasingly like when he was younger to (— then again, he had to climb a counter to get it out of your reach.)
Instead, you wordlessly pass the cup back to him and he wordlessly drinks it despite not knowing what it was.
He likes it, as he does all your works, and notes how it was both sweet and sour. A taste that fills both his childhood need for sweet all the time and his older palate's need for other tastes.
Handing the cup back, Link tilts his head so he can press a kiss to your crown. "Anything you'd think I'd look good in," he finally responds, the flavor of the moment leaving a tooth-achingly sweet taste on his tongue.

ARAM is often humbled in your abode.
He may have acted arrogant to others in his younger years and horrifyingly aloof now that he's a more seasoned god, but he never failed to (willingly) crumble to his knees when in your presence during either times of his life.
He had no need for the sustenance mortals require, prayers and whispers of his name were always good enough for him, but he'd kiss the ground you walk on if it meant you'd bless him with another food you've created (he already does).
Aram is the provider to your fire-lit home, an arrangement the two have been living by for as long as he can remember.
He is the sword to your shield. The arrow to your quiver. The moon to ever burning sun (which he did create for you, after all). The wound for your gauze. The life to your world— and one cannot live peacefully without the other.
Your food had quickly become an addiction to Aram. He'd eat as much as often as he could, giving little response to when questioned why he loves it so much.
("Because it comes from your hands," he once explained hours later when you were sleeping. "Your hands, that create all. That nourish all it touches and replenishes all that is extinct. I am your antithesis, and I must destroy that which I love."
(You never had the heart to ask again.)
He has enough sense to slow his eating around you. One concerned comment about him choking was enough for him to indulge in needless your wishes, but a question regarding its taste had him eating like a mortal.
His relationship with food prior to getting hooked onto yours was brief and filled with obligation. He never ate to feel full, only to make the people he was fighting with shut up and leave him out of whatever conversation they were having.
It never lingered in his stomach like a warm fireplace that others had described it as. It never made him warm and filled with love. It never gave him the energy he needed to keep fighting.
It just went through his digestive tract (why did he even have one?) and disappeared like an heavy smog finally dispersed by a strong gust of wind before he had to fight again.
When a war was over, you always came. You took the battle-shaken soldiers away when it was their time and healed their ailments if they were able to withstand everything. You went through war-stricken cities and set everything as they should have been. You feed and clothe and bandage and sew and reunite and Aram isn't sure why he lingered.
He's seen the effects of what you can do long after you've left. He knows of the good you're capable of doing just as much as he knows the bad he can cause.
He craves your touch when he sees it at its peak. He indulges himself when he sees it first-hand.
Aram understands what the soldiers mean when you beckon him closer and offer him food, uncaring of how he stands tall above all else.
The soup warms his insides. The flavor resides on his tongue hours after he's finished it. His energy, though far from depleted, had made him feel as though he were a youngling again.
He craves more.
The addiction to your presence and your food (and subsequently, you) had started then. It's an event he could easily recall when asked, one he would happily recount to you if you ever forgot where his devotion to you started.
Meeting after a war or battle had become frequent enough that he had finally learned your name; not some silly alias those who followed you often referred to you as. He felt like one of those lovesick children soldiers talk about, tripping over himself and his words.
He's curious to you, an admirer more than a stalker, fortunately. When he wasn't on the battlefront, he was always hovering around as you worked, busying his hands with whatever task you've given him after noticing his lack of mortality.
You treated him well; doing so even after the era of wars were long gone and he was seldom needed. You cared for him as though he were one of the many wounded soldiers with no family to return to once all was done and said— and to an extent, he was.
He's eating when you bring attention to his softer thigh.
You were reading to him, a romantic thriller that held as much of his attention that your captivating voice did. His gaze focused heavily on you, watching as you lick your lips after each page, how your eyes rake over the page to ensure the tone you speak the next sentence in is correct. He notes how you shift less often, how he doesn't have to move you further up his lap so you can lean against his stomach.
"It's not as painful to sit on you anymore." Aram doesn't think that line was in the book, but he doesn't mention it. It dawns that you were talking to him when you look up, using your finger as a bookmark as you closed the book around it. "Have you gained weight?"
He's a big man; it's a fact he's known since the beginning of his existence. He has large arms, muscles well know for how he snatched prey up to bring back to you. His height made it a simple feat to reach into the trees and capture any avian you wanted to experiment with that night. His legs that would stomp on any fish swimming downstream during a day at the lake you suggested.
He was sculpted by the Goddesses themselves. If they hadn't meant for his body to change along with his lifestyle, they wouldn't have designed him to dough.
(He'd never be ashamed in the fact either. He was contented knowing he had someone to dote over him constantly; a sentiment he had gained after recalling a conversation with wedded soldiers.)
(Also, the prospect of defacing what the Goddesses had long since disgraced was exciting, in a way.)
Aram doesn't look at himself, already well-acquainted with his body as his brow raises in amusement. "You feed me well, My Grace," he responds with a peck on your temple, "I would hope to become more comfortable for your pleasure." He refused to stop eating as he indulged you in conversation, the leg you sat on jumping once in place of his busy hands.
You hum that sweet, quiet hum of yours that Aram has come to associate with your contentedness (he aimed to hear to several tomes every day). Removing yourself from his lap, discarding the novel to the side as you raise your hands to cup his cheeks. "It suits you. You look healthy. Happy."
"Did I look ill before?"
You don't fluster as you might have like in your younger years. He's honored to have grown alongside you, reminiscent of the older couples you've both watched and escorted when he was still an active god.
The same filling feeling your food gives him fills his heart. The lingering sense of peace that he felt since meeting you dancing through his body when your thumbs rub the apples of his cheeks, the softest and fondest gaze anyone's ever given him in your eyes.
"No," you answer in a quiet voice only he'd be able to hear. "Never. You've always looked perfect."
And Aram has never been more thankful that he separated himself from the Goddesses as he preens under your touch. Never been more thankful that he lingered after the war was done. Never been more thankful that he had readjusted his psyche to more readily accept your gifts and affection.
He frees a hand to cradle to back of your head, a threat to all that aren't you, and brings you beneath his chin in a protective gesture. "As have you," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head. "And as you always will be."

╰┈➤ ❝ Chain/OC Pairing! ❞
┊ ➶ 。˚ ° Warning! Long list of Chain/OC pairing ahead! Ahah!
┊ ➶ 。˚ ° Just a notice, the OCs do have a name I, however, just referred to them in this post with their title to make them recognizable easily! Next time, I'll post a little short fanfic individually 😊
Four/Seamtress
I make you guess to which I took the seamstress inspiration
Four and Seamstress met when they were children. Seamstress' family travels around the land and sells their fabrics, outfits and products.
Edited: Four and Seamstress before the Minish Cap event.
Four went to relax in the field after he helped his grandpa at the work, not bothering to change his torned clothes.
Seamstress saw him decided to help him.
During this, she found that he is the grandson of a blacksmith while Four got to see Seamstress' parents works (from clothes to jewelry).
There on forth, Seamstress always looked after the boy with green tunic whenever they visit Hyrule Town.
During the FourSword Adventure, Seamstress got targeted by Shadow because she's close to Four (to which I won't go in details now because I'm going to write a fanfic of it)
one of my favourite. why? because I'm into elf/gnome trope, except seamstress is not a gnome but she's taller than Four and I adore the idea of them being lovey-dovey. Four not minding to be lifted up by Seamstress and Seamstress sitting to lean on Four whenever she's tired.
Wholesome, loud, very supportive of each other. Seamstress loves watching Four smithing (helps him when she can). And also want to impress him with her works like little plushies that kinda reminds of Four the picori.
Warrior/Inventor
I got inspired by the sheika from botw!
Also one of my favourite but for different reason.
Inventor is a son of biiiiscuit— you gonna hate him. He boast and is cocky. Arrogant mf and only love his inventions.
Warrior wonders why Cia didn't targeted this dude yet
Inventor have many projects but sadly is more ahead of time so, much to his dismay, he gotta step back a bit so the things he invents can be properly used—
He is actually passionate about his work and tends to overwork himself.
I can't write much about Inventor since he still in w.i.p. but kinda have some scenarios about him and Warrior
I kinda imagine their trope to be idiot rivals to idiot friend to idiots who won't admit they now fallen for each other and historians will say they were good friends(TM)
Wind &Explorer
Platonic Childhood Friends!
I got inspired by Mido but this one is less mean lol
I like the idea of them going in adventures and playing around their island
Explorer is the one who mostly leads Wind back then but Wind comes up with the crazy idea they do!
Is also protective of Aryll!
Explorer, Wind and Aryll stargaze together and Explorer likes to keep books and charts about the sea and sky.
Explorer never got interested at the old folks story about the hero ("Let that ancient dude's soul rest in peace, for Goddesses' sake!" —Explorer, probably).
Maybe he do a little but lil' lad just want to explore the sea
Still have faith in him though and yelled at the ocean, sky and horizon to be kind to Wind or he gonna fight them—
When Wind had to leave the island he was worried but he knows he couldn't stop him either. Aryll got taken and the idea of his friends leaving and never to return again filled made him sorrow.
Wind cheered him up by promising once he returns they gonna explore the sea together and teach him the ropes like once Explorer did to him
They spit swear!
Other ships that I have but don't have much yet
Twilight/Witch || Witch lives in the forest doing her daily witchy stuffs. Kinda imagine their dynamic to be shaky at first. Once they get to know each other, Witchy and Twilight would be a bit flirty to mess up each. At least try to. Because later they would just go with casual talk, wholesome and domestic dynamic. If one is at the home of another, they look like have lived together for years! Very lax and gremlincore aesthetic pair.
Wild/Historian || I've read somewhere that Wild is around 4"11 so I made Historian 4"6 lol. Came from family of historian who worked for the royal family. Historian is a bit shy but he looks up upon the champions, especially Wild. Pending whether to make Historian live in the past or present 💀
Legend/Bard || Their trope is that "Person A hates Person B's guts so they annoy B. But Person B thinks of Person A as a friend anyway". Don't have much yet but Bard came from a family of historian too who worked in the castle but preferred to travel the world. At time they visit Hyrule Castle, they and Fable have a cup of tea and tells story. May have invited Legend from time to time but some of them got turned down. Anyway, Legend and Bard have mutual respect to each other and has been on travel together when they bump to each other! They are very fluffy-angsty genre.
Hyrule/??? || I adore this dude but I can't help but to be totally unsure since I don't know a lot about him or his game. I'm doing more research
I don't have any for Sky and Time but if I have any it would be a platonic one ^^). For Sky, I was thinking about a mysterious person who resides in the land and raised by the kikwi dhsjdhqks
And for Time, a gerudo. He, Malon and the gerudo are a trio and have a platonic dynamic. Gerudo would protect this two with her life 😤😤
»»———- ———-«
That's it! That's all! For now!
I have some images made from picrew but they kinda don't have whay I have in mind soooo... I guess I'll just draw them as the next post! I found a cool brush!

LU Wild x Reader Part 3: Sharing stories
Tumblr media
Okay, I forgot how long this piece was but I'll be slowly putting it up every week. Part three yayyy we get to meet Malon hehe! Sorry its a bit short, I actually need to edit some parts so there's extra work to do but here we goooo
Start here!
Malon and Link’s house is adorable, it’s the cutest little place tucked away in a farm, looking over the forest and rest of castle town. Just stepping underneath the expanse of the blue sky makes me want to live here.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so jealous of your house!” I can’t contain my excitement, wrapping my hands together. A few moments later the door opens, and a beautiful woman steps out, Time is smiling, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this happy. She reaches her arms around him, both melting into each other. I can’t help admiring them, tilting my head at the endearing look they share. My gaze falls towards Wild for a moment, raising a slight brow in mockery and nudges my arm.
“I can’t lie, their adorable.” I say, echoing the sentiment everyone else is probably feeling. Most of us are staring in pure admiration, watching them pull away. Time places a soft kiss against Malon's head.
“It feels like forever,” she says, letting go then stares at the rest of us, a hand against her hip before landing her eyes on me.
“Oh! I you must be y/n," Link wrote about you so much to me, come in the rest of you.” I look towards Link, finally this time the old man actually smiles at me, to my relief. I almost let out an audible sigh.
“Told you he was fine.” Wild whispered. I roll my eyes, continuing inside as they lead us into their home. It’s so cozy, and there’s already a whole table full of food set up for us. For a long moment we just let them be, sitting around as we all hungrily stare at the plates. Neither of us reaching for food, striving to be polite. Wild pouts, and Legend reaches his hand out before Sky swats his arm.
“Not yet! Can’t you just be a little patient?” it all makes us laugh, but then my stomach cramps. Hungrily.
“Oh! You guys can all eat, what are you waiting for? We’ll be there in a moment.” Her eyes are still on Time’s, it’s almost like he’s forgotten the rest of us exist. I can’t blame him really, but I still keep looking towards them.
Perfect, their so perfect together.
Again I catch Wild glancing towards me, a smirk growing on his face until I snap out of it, realising their all looking at me. A blush spreads across my face, embarrassed.
“What’s up with you? Daydreaming about having a life like that?” I kick Wild’s leg, a few others noticing, like Twilight.
“Ew, no? what on earth.” I stutter, not coming out the way I intended at all.
“Isn’t it what everyone wants? It’s cool to explore the world but at the end of the day something like this is peaceful…well having someone.” Sky says, hand against his cheek. I keep my face non chalant, but it’s true. And knowing I may not ever get it, really stings.
"that’s so lame.” Legend rolls his eyes, but the others are quiet.
“It definitely warrants that, and who are you lying too? We know how much you miss-“ Sky gives Warriors a cautionary glance, softening his expression as Legend looks genuinely hurt. I’m still quiet, staring below at the floors.
For the rest of the evening Malon kindly asks us questions, about where we’re from. And me, which is a little hard to explain granted I sort of jumped through a well and ended up here.
“Do you think you’ll stay?” she poses the question casually, and everyone looks at me.
“Aha well…I don’t really know yet. It would be nice to stay, but then everyone else will have to go back home at some point, and I suppose my home isn’t really here.” The realisation hurts, and suddenly I don’t have a huge appetite anymore. Time looks at me sympathetically, and Wild also softens, knowing how I truly feel about Twilight right now. He may already have someone in mind anyway right? Best to keep expectations low.
“Whew! I’m kind of full, I think I’ll go for a walk. Would it be okay if I walk?” I push my plate forward, clearing my throat. The tension is making my face heat.
“Oh of course, just don’t wander too far. I’d hate for you to run into a monster at this time.” Time almost looks traumatised just as before, but Wild chips in once again.
“I can come!” I look at him, surprised, but suppose it would be good to talk. He’s really the only one I can sort of confide in right now.
“Sure.”
It’s cold, really cold around here that’s worse than the camp night. I’m shivering, pulling my sleeves while looking up at the moon, remembering that story Time told us about how it had almost fallen and crushed the entire world. It still feels like a silly fable, but then again this whole chance to be in Hyrule is pretty unbelievable.
“So that’s the moon in question? It looks friendly.” Wild says, staring up at while removing his cape, placing it over my shoulders. I freeze, holding onto the end then glance towards him, holding onto the fabric. It carries the scent of peppermint and wood, all the adventures he told us around the fire lingering in this fabric.
“What- aren’t you cold?” I say, letting my hand down. He puffs out his chest, albeit very much freezing and not doing a good job of hiding it.
“I’ve braved snow capped mountains in this tunic, this is nothing.” His teeth chatter, but I giggle.
“Alright, if you’re sure, hero. Also, the moon looks like cheese to me.”
“Cheese?”
“See the craters?”
“Well if I look too long I’m afraid it might start to resemble a face. Do you think the old man was serious about the moon falling?” I give him an incredulous look.
“Do I? at this point anything is possible for me.”
“Oh…right. I mean in my world it turned red. A very, aggressive and blood sort of red. Then at exactly midnight all the creatures and monsters I slayed came back to life." He narrates his story again, walking through the fields while I listen intently watching his eyes colour with intensity.
Once we're closer to the edge of a hill, We come to a stop, overlooking the town square, quiet at this time with a few fires flickering distantly. My stomach churns, the lingering realisation becoming more prominent each day that all this will fade. Wild stops talking, facing me.
“Wait sorry- I forgot about your world-“ he says quietly, "Tell me about it!" I'd been pushing away any thoughts about home, even though I'd come from there, part of me never felt like I'd belonged.
"Nothing too interesting to talk about, really." His expression fades, curiousity dimming. "Really? I thought you were a writer though, I'm sure you've got some stories to share." They weren't worth speaking about here, I'd told them about my journals, all the books I'd read but to tell them something from my life still felt like a raw wound. Stories were best shared as scars, but mine hadn't quite healed yet.
"Umm, I don't really want to, sorry." I mumble, but he smiles again.
"Oh well, but I'm going to hold you to it. You owe me!"

Oh my goodness, this piece is absolutely breathtaking! The detail you’ve put into the dress is just stunning, it’s like something straight out of a fairytale! The deep reds and autumn tones are so pretty~
it’s making the whole outfit feel so luxurious and enchanting. And those roses! They add such a romantic, almost regal touch, especially the ones on the bodice and gloves!!.
I’m also in love with the pearl details pouring down the dress, they add this delicate elegance that contrasts so beautifully with the darker colors. The Ava’s soft, serene expression complements the the outfit perfectly. It’s like she’s stepped right out of a story, graceful and timeless. The background, too, with its subtle, dreamy floral pattern, my opinion? add the perfect backdrop that adds to the whole piece her.
You’ve truly created a masterpiece here~ I know I always say to but it’s always true! I can’t stop admiring all the little details. Every part of it just oozes beauty and creativity! Bravo! 👏
Means I can add the heroes reactions to it now~
——
Hyrule would be completely taken aback, his usual calm demeanor replaced by an almost reverent silence. He takes in every detail, his gaze lingering on the floral embellishments and soft elegance that highlight Ava’s beauty.
His cheeks flushing slightly as he finally manages a quiet, ”Ava… you look like someone from a fairytale.”There’s a soft, almost trembling quality in his voice that suggests he’s holding back a deeper intensity.
Though he tries to remain casual, his eyes would keep drifting back to her, almost as if he’s afraid that if he looks away, this vision of her might disappear.
——-
Legend manages to keep a collected expression, but his eyes betray a flicker of awe as he takes her in. He usually prides himself on not showing his feelings so easily, but he can’t quite hide his admiration this time.
He’s allow himself a small, genuine smile and comments in a low tone, ”You’d make anyone look ordinary next to you in that.” His words are carefully chosen, just enough to let her know she’s captivated him without overstepping.
Though he doesn’t let it show, he has to resist the urge to subtly step between her and anyone who might be staring too long. He catches himself, knowing he must appear calm and nonchalant.
——
Time’s reaction is understated, but his gaze holds a depth that says more than any words. He stands a little straighter, appreciating how the elegance of the dress aligns with his view of her as someone exceptional.
“You look breathtaking, Ava.” His voice would be low, carrying a certain reverence that feels both admiring and protective. He’d be careful not to say more than that, aware of his own (weak) self control in her presence.
He’d maintain a composed stance, but there would be an undeniable weight in his gaze that follows her every movement, as if committing each detail of her appearance to memory.
——
Wind’s first instinct would be to express his excitement openly, but he reins himself in, simply beaming at her with a bright, admiring gaze. He fights the urge to reach out and twirl her around to get a better view.
“You look amazing, Ava!” His words would be spoken with enthusiasm, but his voice would also be softer than usual, almost as if he’s seeing something precious and fragile. His smile would be wide, but there’s a hint of something deeper beneath it.
For a moment, his playful nature dims, replaced by a steady, almost serious admiration that suggests he’s viewing her in a new, captivating light.
——
When Four sees Ava in the gown, all of his individual sides are momentarily stilled, leaving him as one whole, unified and struck speechless. There’s a moment where he simply stands, completely captivated as if seeing her for the first time.
Ava’s appearance draws something vulnerable and reverent out of Four. His admiration is so great, it’s almost reverence, his eyes do not look away as he takes in every intricate detail of her dress, from the rich, layered fabric to the delicate rose embellishments. He knows how much care and thought went into making it, and he’s in awe.
Just because he works with metal doesn’t mean he can’t appreciate and admire creations of cloth too.
When he finally speaks, his words are soft but carry a deep sincerity. “You look… incredible, Ava. It’s a sight to see you wear such a beautiful dress.” He manages a smile, warm and genuine (he fails to hide the light blush in his face)
Each of the colors would react differently, yet they all share a mutual admiration.
Green appreciates her craft.
Red blushes shyly.
Vio is quietly captivated.
and Blue (despite his usual nonchalance) finds himself sneaking glances.
Green wouod approach her with a soft, honest smile, saying, ”You’ve outdone yourself, Ava. It suits you beautifully.” His tone would be warm, carrying a sincerity that doesn’t need embellishment.
The other colors would resist the urge to linger a bit too long or compliment her in a way that might reveal their (very obvious) feelings.
Blue mutters under his breath, ”Quite the attention grabber, aren’t you?” but there would be an unmistakable hint of admiration that betrays him. (As it should)
Red would be starry eyed and in awe. “You’re like a princess, no! A Queen!” He’s definitely internally (and or externally) squealing.
Vio would compliment her accessories, admiring the time and care she took into making them. “Yours are only surpassed by your beauty.” (He’d definitely enjoy having a closer look~ )
——
Twilight would be able to only stare for a moment, a rare blush rising to his cheeks. He’s usually more reserved, but seeing her this way, so poised and radiant, would leave him momentarily at a loss.
“You look beautiful, Ava.” His tone would be steady, but his eyes would carry an intensity that speaks to something more. The warmth in his gaze definitely shows that admiration that goes beyond her appearance alone.
Though he’d keep his composure, he would have to fight the urge to step closer, almost as if to shield her from prying eyes. The way he holds himself just a bit straighter when she compliments him in the suit she made him would definitely show how focused he is towards her.
——
——
Sky’s immediate reaction would be one of pure admiration, a gentle smile spreading across his face as he takes her in. We both know he’s always been a romantic at heart, and seeing her dressed so elegantly would bring out that softness.
“Ava… you look so radiant.” His voice is gentle, completely in love. There’s something in his tone that suggests he would do anything for her happiness (or to be the very reason for her happiness.)
Though his expression is gentle, he becomes a bit more alert, keeping a close eye on anyone who might approach her. His calm exterior hides a urge to shield her from the guests eyes (and from the rest of the chain) that feels as steadfast as his admiration.
——
Warriors’ usual charismatic demeanor would remain, but there’s a sharper edge to his gaze as he takes in her appearance. (Hunter meets prey….or is it hunter finds mistress to serve? Heheh)
He’d offer his hand smoothly, adopting a charming role, but his expression of being entranced isn’t something he can quite hide.
“You look like royalty, milady.” His words would be delivered with a light bow, but his eyes would linger just a moment too long, almost as if he’s silently claiming her presence.
He’d be quick to offer himself as her escort, positioning himself by her side as though to make it clear that he’ll be the one to keep an eye on her. Though he wouldn’t say it, there’s a slight possessiveness to his gesture, protective and poised.
——-
Wild’s eyes would go wide as he takes her image in, clearly not expecting her to look so breathtaking. (I mean, he already KNEW she was gonna be breathtaking. But dang did she destroy any possible assumptions he made of what she would wear.)
His usual easygoing nature would fade momentarily, leaving him staring with a kind of raw admiration.
“You look…beautiful, Ava.” His voice would be quiet, almost reverent, and there’s a touch of surprise in his tone, like he’s caught off guard by just how strongly he feels.
Though he quickly returns to his usual self, Wild’s eyes keep straying back to her, taking in every detail with a kind of hunger he can’t completely suppress. (It’s all in the eyes, The others would have to nudge him to get him to control His facial expressions) It’s subtle, but his gaze holds protectiveness mixed with admiration.
Tumblr media
The chain said there was a grand fancy party?? It's so vague Ava is a little suspicious. But if theyre allowing her to go all out, and they encourage her even, a dress like this is fine, right? There are many people shes mostly close and intimate with attending, and she shouldn't worry about any VIP strangers that she has to put up a front for either. She can let loose, and feel as extravagant and beautiful wearing that wine red ballgown for as much as she likes. Especially when her heroes are looking after her very carefully... :))

Midterm Madness
Luke Hughes x OC
Tumblr media
"Babe?" His rough, sleep-filled voice mumbles, rolling over in our bed. "What are you doing up?"
"Oh God, did I wake you?" I answer instead, dulling the screen of my laptop that sits in front of me. "I've been trying so hard to type quietly." Okay, that wasn't the answer Lu was looking for, based on how adorably confused he is right now, curls everywhere.
"It's- two in the morning Baby, why aren't you asleep?" He tries again, pulling the textbook off my lap, "And what is this?"
"I have a midterm in the morning, I was just studying now since I didn't have a chance to today at the hospital and then I got home with barely enough time to make dinner before you and Ja -"
"I wish you would have told me Baby," He interrupts, rolling on top of me and preventing any further studying. "I don't want you to feel like you have to cook for the Jack and I when you spend the night here, especially after a shift or on an exam night."
"But I enjoy it, it's like sitting down to family dinner and I don't get those when I go home," I can't help but remind, because it's the truth. He was there during my parents divorce last year when my sister left for school and made them an empty nester. He knows what was lost, and the Hughes family did their best to fill it in.
"How can I help with..." Are the next words out of his mouth, his strong arms pulling my back into his chest, holding the textbook in his hands as if he were reading. "Biochemical reactions?"
"I appreciate your efforts baby but you have practice tomorrow, and-"
"And nothing. Come on, if you're up, I'm up, and we're going to overnight this like when we were in Michigan," He demands, moving from the bed and taking all of his warmth with him. Throwing on a pair of sweatpants and a shirt, he tosses me his hoodie, my favorite one, and holds out his hand, taking my books and computer from me. "We're going to make some tea, settle down at the dining table, and get this shit done, okay?"
"Okay, I can agree to these terms," I can't help but agree, seeing the soft smile he's using on me, pulling his sweatshirt over my head and throwing my hair up. "We've got this."
"Hell yeah we do," Lu assures, leaving me to follow him as he exits his room, sprawling all of my things across the table, only pausing when another male voice interrupts the silence of the room from the couch.
"Moose? Mayday?" Jack's voice is the one to call, his head ducking up over the back of the couch, game controller in hand and brows in the sky. "What are you two doing up?"
"Mae has a midterm in the morning so we're going to study for it," Lu answers, turning to me, "Want to grab the snacks and drinks? You need fuel if we're going to survive this."
"Yes sir," I answer with a mock salute, wandering away with the boys chattering in the back ground. It's on my return that I pause, seeing both boys sitting at the table with their noses in my textbook. "Boys?"
"Can't have my future sister-in-law bombing an exam now can I? Who else is going to patch me up when I get into another fight?" And while it's a joke, you can see in his body language how much he does care.
"What fight? I thought that brawl with Aho wasn't a fight?" I can't help but chirp, his eyes rolling and Luke laughs, pulling me down to sit next to him, his lips meeting my forehead.
"Yeah, you think you're so funny Doc, now tell me, what's the golgi apparatus?"

He is your WHAT?! Luffy x Oc
Tumblr media
Nicknames include Lu and Je but nothing else. A female magician you can use with your name, since nothing else is mentioned. ALSO! A dragon comes in as her familiar with the name Soma. Also post wano
The Land of Wano was now two days behind you and everyone was quite happy with some calm and relaxing days. You kept your boyfriend busy with large bubbles, similar to the ones at Sabaody, Usopp and Chopper joining in.
You left them to rest next to Zoro, who was napping against the railing. You head slightly bend behindto stretch yourself as you felt a presence under water, which quickly came near. "Zoro, you feel that?", you asked the swordsman who stood up. "Yes. And it's something big", he added as a big shake came over the sunny. "What was that?!", shouted Franky as Jinbe steadied the sunny.
Water rose directly by Zoro and you, making Chopper and Usopp scream, hugging each other. Sanji also came out to look what the commotion is about, as the ship went deadly silent.
"DRAGON!!!!", everybody screamed as a big dragon stood there, shining in prismatic colors as the sun Hit it, and in its mouth was a dead sea King. "SANJI! FOOD!!! DRAGON MEAT!", Luffy shouted exited and Zoro smirked evily. "Never had the chance for it", said Sanji as you stood in front of the dragon. "If anyone of you Hit Soma, I will never speak to you again", you said quite serious.
"...Soma?", all asked. "Why, yes. This is Soma. He's my...pet" "PET?!!! THIS THING?!", Usopp shouted. "He's bigger than Kaido", admitted Zoro. Soma dropped the Sea King into the water and lowered his snout to you, as you pet him.
"Yes, hello my Baby. All ok?", you smiled softly at him. "Baby?! This Monster is nowhere near a Baby!!!", screeched Nami. "He's only two, Nami...and he got us the Sea King as a gift" "SEA KIND MEAT!!!! SANJI!!!" "Yeah yeah..." "He looks so cute. And he's bigger than the ones at Punk Hazard", admitted Robin, who now, joined your side. "Oh, you can Touch him if you want. He's...dolcile", you chuckled and Robin indeed touched him. "YOHOHOHOHO!!! I never thought a dragon could be this tame" "SUPER DRAGON!!!", Franky posed as Chopper came forth. "...why is he calling you Mama?", the cute reindeer looked at you. "Ahahaha...ehm. I met Soma when he was just a couple of months old and we directly clicked"
"Has anyone seen Luffy?", asked Jinbe as "FLY! FLY SOMA FLY!!! INTO THE SKY!!!", Luffy was already on his back, laughing. "Je, join!!!", he beamed before stretching his arms all around you, Pulling you into the dragon. "Soma, a quick round", you said and he sproud his wings. The sunny looks so small compared to them and with one heavy flap, he zoomed high up, past the clouds, your boyfriend cheering. "And?!", you shouted. "Je, this is amazing! You also, Soma!!" A loud growl came from Soma, making your evey widen. "Lu, hold on tight!", you said and in the next second, your dragon dived down at full speed.
The only Sound you heard was your exiting boyfriend before Soma stopped directly over the water, showing the reflextion, his claws gliding over the water, as he came to an halt by the sunny. "Wohooo!!! Amazing!" "Lu, your hair!", you began to laugh loudly at his wild wind-blown hair.
Back on the Sunny, you moved your Finger as Soma shrinked, perfect to the size to lay comfy around your neck. "You can shrink him?", asked Jinbe. "Because he's my familiar", you hummed, scratching his shimmering scales. "Fa-wha?", Lu poked his snout. "Familiar. We made a...soul bond. When I die, so does he, when I'm hurt he also gets hurt, and so on. I can also understand him", you admitted. "So, what kind of dragon is he?", asked Sanji and came closer to inspect him. "A spectal dragon. When light shines on him, he's like a prism. When he gets older, his flame will get the same color, and if what I read is correct...let me say it like this! Onigashima be melting down", you laughed.
"Where were you?! You could've helped us so much!"whined Usopp. "I'd only call him if the Situation would be live-threaten, Usopp...beides...He would swoop in just like that" "And what does he eat?" Asked franky. "Meat, fish, berries...everything raw. But mostly big animals...like the sea Kings and Dinosaurs" "Oh god" "Ah, no worry Sanji! Soma gets his food alone" "Je, you are incredible!" Lu hugged you close, kissing you. "Soma, you too! We're gonna have so much fun together!!!"
"Oh, no doubt about that", you laughed and saw how Soma sat himself on your boyfriends' straw hat before they talked, walking away

Las hijas de Luna
Tumblr media
Book: Open Heart
Pairing: Bryce Lahela (M!MC) x Luna Auclair (F!OC)
Rating: General. It’s a birth story. But there won’t be any graphic scenes.
Words: 5,000+
Summary: It’s time for Luna and Bryce to welcome their twins into the world. Will there be any complications? Or will the birth go without a hitch?
A/N: I just wanted to say thank you to the whole choices fandom. I couldn’t have come this far with my writing, my stories and my beloved characters, if I didn’t have such amazing and encouraging friends to cheer me on and support me. So thank you to anyone who’s given my writing, my stories and my characters a chance 💚
2 A/N: I’m by no means an expert with birth stories so please excuse any errors. I used my basic knowledge, friends knowledge and the internet to find out more about births but remember this is fiction, I was bit more freely with the details, but nothing too vivid or such pinky promise.
Side note: If you're curious how Luna and Bryce found out that they're expecting you can find out in my story "Cake by the Ocean"
I also included a playlist if you want to you can give it a listen here
2 Side note: I participated in the March Challenge @choicesmonthlychallenge and used the prompt plumeria flower. The plumeria flower symbolizes positivity & new beginnings 🥰 (I think it wasn't among the flowers that were mentioned, but since the story takes place in Hawaii I thought I'd use this beautiful flower).
Tumblr media
Honolulu, Hawaii
March 30th
Luna
Bryce is about to head out on a camping trip with Keiki. They’re going to Waianae Mountain Range.
It usually took over an hour to get there. But the view was breathtaking and made up for the time it took you to get there.
I've been there with my family before. It’s marvelous. The fresh mountain air. The chirping birds, the rush of a nearby waterfall. And the light is perfect for painting. It’s truly a magnificent experience.
My cousin Skyler, Sky for short, didn’t like it so much, he got scared by spiders. Other than that it was pretty fun.
So when Keiki asked Bryce if he’d like to go? Bryce was excited to spend more time with his sister.
Because of his demanding job as a surgeon, he doesn’t get to spend as much time with his family as he would like to. Working odd hours, and being on call does that to your private life.
They’re going to spend the whole day together, going hiking, fishing and just sitting by the campfire. It was a beautiful idea, sans the camping. I’d rather go glamping, thank you very much. One time camping was enough. I grinned at the fond memory. I went camping with my family once and had to share a tent with Evie and Soraya.
It was great. It was like a sleepover. But I could’ve sworn I’ve seen a snake or two crawl outside and that kinda ruined the experience and sleeping on the cold hard floor wasn’t a picnic either.
I stood outside our house and watched as Bryce packed up the Jeep with their bags, tents, and some food my mom made for them earlier. I would’ve gone with them but I was told this could be straining for me since I’m due to give birth soon. With twins, you never know.
I’ve been having small contractions since this morning but I didn’t want to ruin Bryce’s trip with Keiki.
Gnawing on my lip I’m trying to decide if I should tell him, because if I do then he’ll cancel his trip and I don’t want to do that.
So I’ve been a bit worried all day.
Bryce looked up at me as if he felt my stare.
”Don‘t look so worried Lunes. We can go another weekend if you’re so worried. It’s close to your due date, Lu. I mean I know that twins usually arrive earlier than the expected due date.“
He looked slightly concerned and was torn if he should cancel the trip. His brown eyes were full of worry. The usual spark in his eyes was dimmed.
I walked towards him and tried to lighten the mood.
”I’m fine. See? Totally peachy!“ I smiled and did a little pirouette. Or tried to at least. It looked more awkward than what a pirouette should look like.
Bryce wasn’t convinced by my little performance.
We both heard some barking. That must be Knox, Adam‘s dog. Adam had a meeting with a potential client in Maui. He makes and builds his own furniture, and has his own company right here in Honolulu.
So when he asked us if we could look after Knox? We were more than happy to.
So both Maxi and Knox joined us in the house and are currently in our garden enjoying the sun and playing a round of catch.
I smiled and Bryce relaxed a little too. I hugged him, he pulled me closer, and I breathed in the fresh cotton scent and some cherry from his shower gel.
I looked up at him.
”If I should go into labour I’ve packed my bag just in case. Maxi and my mom are inside, my cousins and Meilani will be here shortly and I have your and Keiki's number on speed dial. It’s all good. Go have fun. We‘ll still be here when you come back.“
Bryce sighed and went to close the trunk of the Jeep. He walked over to me again.
”I hate leaving you here. Maybe I should just stay here. Yeah, that’s a good idea. Keiki will understand.“
I laughed as he tried to walk back into our house and I pushed him towards the car.
”Go and have fun B. I mean it. But don’t have too much fun without me.“
He took one last look at me and gave me a lingering kiss. One that made my toes curl. I smiled against his lips.
When he broke off the, he kissed me on the top of my head and got into the car.
I grinned at him and he smiled back, though the worry isn’t completely gone, it’s dimmed down a little. So I tried a reassuring smile.
”It’s going to be fine babe.“
”Alright Lunes. I’m sure things will work out.“
He nodded as if more to himself and grinned.
”Keiks let’s go. You can text your boyfriend in the car.“ He yell d towards the house and Keiki ran out the door with a blue metallic bag over her shoulder.
”Fyi he’s not my boyfriend. I was calling a guy who’s name I’m not telling you, so that you can win the betting pool.“
”Jesus.“ Bryce muttered, making me and Keiki laugh out loud.
She hugged me, smelling like peaches.
”Bye Looney.“
I grinned at them.
”Have fun guys. Love you.“
Bryce honked once and they were off, the headlights getting smaller.
My mom, Maxi, and Knox Adam’s dog were keeping me company. My mom said she’d spend the day with me until Bryce got back.
I walked inside our house once Bryce and Keiki were on their way.
As I closed the front door, a sudden pain made me clutch my stomach. I let out a slow breath. Okay, this was definitely a stronger contraction.
Maxi walked towards me, Knox in tow. She grinned but then took one look at me and rushed towards me.
”What’s wrong sugarplum?“
She guided me gently to the couch.
”I don’t know. It felt like a contraction. But that’s not possible. I'm not due yet.“
Once I sat down the pain was almost gone. I sighed in relief. Maybe it was because I overexerted myself today?
Meinlani said that could happen. I lifted my legs and laid down on the couch. Damn, this felt good. I sighed in relief.
Knox puts his head on my knee and I pet him behind his ears. Which makes him lick my hand. He’s a sweet dog.
My mom came over. She took one glance at me and a worried look entered her blue-green eyes.
”You okay baby?“
I nodded. Eyes closed. And I am. The pain was gone. At least for now. Maybe it was just a false alarm, and the small contractions I’ve been having since this morning were just preparation? I hoped that’s true.
”Why don’t I make you some chamomile tea? Hmm?“ She put a strand of my dark blonde hair behind my ear. I sighed in bliss.
”Two sugars?“
She kissed me on my forehead.
”You got it, baby.“
The next couple of hours were pretty uneventful. We chatted and watched Bridgerton. But I just couldn’t concentrate. I love that show. But I had a bad feeling.
Earlier I tried to reach Bryce to check in if they got there okay, but the call didn’t go through. Maybe they had bad cell signal? Of all days for the cell service not to work? Seriously screw you cell towers.
I was almost fast asleep, Knox by my side when the doorbell rang. I opened my sleepy eyes as Maxi got up and pinpointed me with a look.
”Don’t you dare get up. I’ve got it.“
I laughed and stayed on the couch.
”Who missed us?“
I turned my head and saw my cousins Evie and Soraya walk in. Followed by our friend and my OB/gyn Meilani, and Soraya‘s wife.
They all leaned down and hugged me.
”Good to see you’re following my orders to rest.“
”I’m a good student.“ I grinned.
Maxi snorted.
”That’s not true. You were up and about almost all day.“
”Luna!“
”Ohh. Someone’s getting a lecture.“ Evie said from across the room.
My mom let out a laugh.
Meilani was holding back a smile I can tell.
”Well you’re resting now, which I’m counting as a win.“ Meilani said and sat in the other armchair next to Meilani. Soon we were all laughing.
My mom's phone rang on the counter.
”Hey love.“
I could tell from the tone of her voice that it was my dad. She only talked like this when my dad was near.
”No, I haven’t heard anything about thunderstorm warnings. I’m with loon-moon, you know since Bryce went on that trip with Keiki.“
She listened some more and she was darting concerned looks at the phone.
”Yeah I agree. We’ll stay inside, don't worry. Love you too.“
My ears perked up at the words ”thunderstorm warnings“ and I sat up with Meilani's help.
My mom disconnected the call and we all looked at her.
I stared at my mom expectantly.
”Brian called and told me there were severe thunderstorm warnings issued. They’re urging everyone who doesn’t need to be outside to stay at home. I hope Bryce and Keiki will be okay. Looney, have you tried reaching him?“
I nodded.
”My calls and texts didn’t go through. What if he gets hurt? And they can’t reach anyone? Oh god.“
I tried not to cry but it was no use. I was full-on crying because I was worried about Bryce. Maxi reached me and hugged me.
”Hey come on don’t worry. Bryce is a tough guy, and he’s pretty resourceful. But don’t tell him I told you that. He'll tease me until eternity. So try to think positive. He’ll be okay.“
She kissed my temple and I tried to relax, but a shrivel of worry stayed where it was.
I nodded, got up and slowly walked to the bathroom. After drinking that chamomile tea I had to pee all the damn time.
It was good thinking that Bryce and I had installed another bathroom downstairs. To be honest I couldn’t walk upstairs right now just to use the bathroom.
As I opened the door I felt a wetness dribble down my feet. I stood frozen to the ground. Not moving an inch.
I was scared that if I moved I’d make it worse. I know that‘s technically not possible. But I’m scared. And a slight panic settled in the depths of my stomach.
Oh no. Not now. Please, not now. It’s too early.
I tried using the breathing techniques I used when I have an anxiety attack. Maybe that would calm me down a little.
Is the water supposed to break? I thought that was just a thing from movies and TV shows. But apparently, it’s a thing.
I must’ve made a tiny sound because I heard some tiny little footsteps clacking on the wooden floorboards.
Knox must’ve heard me. He stood there and watched me. When I didn’t say anything, he barked and I put my hand through his soft golden fur.
”It’s okay. No need to worry right? Women have given birth before, right?“ Even I could hear the panic in my voice.
”Lunes? Do you need help to sit down on the toilet?“ I heard the others snicker.
But I was not in the mood for jokes.
”My water just broke.“
They stopped laughing and I could hear them coming closer.
Meilani was the first one followed by my mom, Maxi, Soraya, and Evie.
Meilani shot me a reassuring smile.
”Okay no need to worry. Why don’t you go and wash up? We’ll grab your packed bag and drive you to the hospital?“
I nodded and Maxi was by my side and coached me through my breathing.
”Deep breaths sugarplum. Come on. In and out.“
She instructed me and I repeated it a couple of times before I was able to breathe normally again.
”I’ll go wash up.“ I said.
”I’ll bring you a change of clothes.“ Maxie said and went upstairs.
Evie and Soraya stood there unsure what to do, so I turned to them.
”Can you guys try Bryce’s phone again? I’d feel better knowing that he and Keiki are okay.“
Evie nodded and Soraya went outside to see if Meilani needed any help.
”I couldn’t reach him before. But I’ll keep calling him.“ Evie said.
I went inside the bathroom to wash up. Hoping we’ll make it to the hospital in time. Hopefully, the streets will be cleared despite all the storm warnings.
When I went outside I saw Soraya rushing in. A concerned look on her face.
”We’ll have a problem getting to the hospital. As I was turning on the engine, I noticed that the car was stuck. It hasn’t stopped raining, so the trails are too muddy from the rain.“
I sighed and when a contraction rolled around I tried breathing through it. But I couldn’t help the whimper that escaped.
”I was afraid of that. The calls to the hospital didn’t go through either. I tried calling my head nurse Valerie. But I can’t reach anyone.“
She looked around trying to reassess the situation.
”Okay we’ve got this no problem.“
”What do you need?“ My mom sprinted into action.
Meilani looked around.
”We need to make a make-shift birthing room. The contractions are pretty early on, so it could take hours before Luna is ready to push. She has to be fully dilated. Again that could take hours, and maybe the streets will be cleared up by then. We also don’t have any medical supplies or an epidural that I could give to Luna. I’m not going to risk an infection to either her or the twins.“
My mom nodded.
”Okay Meilani and Maxine you stay with Luna and make her feel comfortable. She doesn’t need any added stress to her right now. Soraya, Evie, and I will try to get the car rolling again. So that we can make it to the hospital.“
Everyone nodded while I was walking back and forth, not able to sit still. When I’m anxious I tend to walk a dent into the carpet.
When everyone was done making a makeshift birthing room, Meilani pointed for me to lie down.
”Alright. Let’s make you comfortable.“
Meilani sighed and looked up at me. A serious look on her face.
”How long?“ I asked, my eyes full of tears because Bryce wasn’t here and I couldn't reach him.
”We’ve got time. So try and relax. I know it sounds a lot, but you’ve got this okay?“
”Sure I’ll just lie down and feel all peachy. That’s a-okay.“
Meilani smiled at me, completely ignoring my sarcasm.
”But just so you know the contractions are only going to get more painful. So I’m going to time the distance to know for sure when it’s time to push okay? That way we’ll be able to at least have some time to prepare alright?“
I sucked in a breath and nodded.
”The contractions are going to be worse than what I’m feeling now? Yeah sure no problem.“
”You got this babe.“ Meilani smiled and her smile put me a bit at ease.

Nothing but the blue sky above us as we drove towards Waianae Mountain Range. Listening to Elvis Presley songs. The top is rolled up, and we’re singing out loud.
Keiki laughed at my singing technique. Making me sing even louder.
It took us a little longer than an hour, but hey that’s fine. We made it and that’s the most important thing.
I turned off the engine of our Jeep when we arrived at the campsite. We got out of the car and put our bags, the tents, and the food we packed out of the car trunk.
I grinned at Keiki. Then I heard her curse as she tried to get the tent up and I grinned.
”Need any help there Keiks?“ I smiled.
”Nope. I’ve got it.“ She replied.
”Hopefully this time you can get your tent up, not like last time. When it all fell apart.“
Keiki turned around and pointed an accusing finger at me.
”That‘s so not true. You helped me build it. So technically it’s your fault it fell apart.“
I laughed.
While putting up the tent, I couldn’t shake off this bad feeling I’ve had ever since we started the trip. I tried reaching Lunes but there’s bad cell service out here. I barely have any bars on my cell phone. It seems as if there won’t be any cell service for some time.
When we heard thunder roaring in the distance we both stopped setting up our tents.
My gut feeling was confirmed when I saw dark grey clouds rolling in, where just a while ago the sky was brilliantly blue before.
”Damn it.“ I cursed again.
I went to my car and turned on the radio to see if there were any severe thunderstorm alerts issued for Honolulu. I found a radio station and only caught the last sentence.
”…urge people to stay inside. There are severe thunderstorm warnings for Honolulu, Kailua, Waipahu…“
I turned the radio off and walked towards Keiki who looked up from building her tent.
”You okay?“ She asked with apprehension written across her face.
”There were several thunderstorms issued and I have a bad feeling. I also can’t reach Luna.“
I pushed my hand through my hair.
”I’m sure she’s fine.“ Keiki tried to reassure me, but the worry stayed with me.
Keiki reached into her bag and gave me a signal booster for my phone.
”Luna's dad gave me a signal booster for my phone when he heard we were going camping. I’ve brought it with me just in case.“
”You’re a lifesaver Keiks.“
She smiled at me.
I tried reaching Luna and when I did it was not her voice I heard. It was Evie‘s. Luna’s cousin.
”Thank god Bryce. We’ve been trying to reach you for hours.“
I could hear a voice in the background.
”Evie? What’s wrong? Is Luna okay?“
Evie was back on the line.
”Her water broke. We’re on our way to the hospital.“
Her voice stopped me in my tracks, my heart started beating faster and I could feel the blood rush through my veins.
”What? When? Is she okay?“
Keiki looked towards me and when she saw my panicked expression she walked towards me and put her hand on my shoulder. I gripped her hand tightly.
”Wait, I'll give her the phone.“
I heard some rustling and then Luna was on the line.
”B?“
When I heard her voice I breathed out a breath of relief. I didn’t realize how tense I was. My shoulders dropped, since Luna’s voice instantly relaxed me.
”Are you okay?“ I asked because I wanted to hear if she was in any pain.
”I…yeah. I’m fine. But B? I can’t do this without you. Please tell me you’ll be here?“
I sighed. And activated my doctor mode. I tried to act as if this was one of my patients. But it only worked for a short amount of time.
”I’ll make it. Don’t worry, and don’t start without me. But seriously you’re in good hands. Meilani is an exceptional doctor…“
I didn’t get to finish when I heard her cry out.
”Lunes?“ I said and then I heard Meilanis' voice.
”She’s fine for now. We’re on our way to the hospital. So you better get your ass there Lahela.“
”How far along is she until she has to push?“
”We’ve got a little bit of time, but soon. We wanted to go there earlier but with the thunderstorms, it was raining and the car was stuck. The others are trying to get the car out so we can get to the hospital.“
I nodded as if she could see me.
”Alright I’ll be there.“
I heard more noises.
”I have to go Bryce. Luna needs me. Please be there. She can’t do this without you.“
”I promise I’ll make it.“
That’s when we ended the call. And I pinched my nose. And then I had to laugh because it reminded me so much of something Ethan would do.
”What’s wrong?“ Keiki asked me. And when I didn't answer her immediately she yelled my name.
”Bryce!“
Her voice shook me out of my daze.
”Luna’s water broke.“
”Wait, didn't you say she wasn’t due yet?”
She looked at the dark sky above us and her eyes turned worried.
I rubbed my neck nervously.
”Yeah. But sometimes you can go into labor earlier. Especially with twins.“
”Then we should go. I don’t think this camping trip will take place today. The weather is too bad. There could be landslides, especially in the mountains. And we don’t want to be here when that happens.“
I nodded and we both got our stuff packed up.
”You’re right Keiks. We should head back. Before the roads get too bad.“
I was loading everything into the car when I heard Keiki's voice.
”I think it might be too late for that big brother.“
I stuck my head out of the car to see where Keiki was pointing.
She pointed at the trail that was completely covered in mud. Even with our Jeep, we’ll have a hard time getting the car going.
Dammit. Of all days for a thunderstorm to arrive it had to be today of all days. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad omen. Though I truly hoped that it was a good omen and that the Hawaiian gods would be merciful with the weather today. Saying a silent prayer I looked up and hoped I would be there to witness the birth of my children.
I breathed out and turned to my little sister.
”Alright. Let’s not panic. Let’s try if we can get the car onto the road.“
Keiki nodded, but I could tell she was not convinced that we’d get the car on the road.
I turned on the engine and after a couple of seconds we got on the road and I swerved to avoid any muddy parts on the street.
We made it halfway home when we hit a pothole and got stuck.
It rattled the car for a second, and I tried to back out of the pothole, but no dice. No matter how hard I tried we were stuck.
”What now? Should we try to move the car?“ Keiki asked.
I shook my head and I hit my hands on the steering wheel. Frustrated.
”Fuck. I hate that we got stuck. Today of all days.“
Keiki slapped me on my arm.
”Well we won’t solve it by sitting inside the car. Let’s see how bad we’re stuck.“
I felt myself nodding and we got out to see how big the pothole was.
”Yeah okay we’re screwed.“ Keiki whistled.
I shot her an annoyed look.
”What? I’m just saying.“ She grinned and I laughed half-heartedly, as I was trying to calculate how long it would take us if we made a run for it.
”How long would it take us if we made a run for it?“ I voiced my thoughts aloud.
I looked at my sister who got her phone to see how far it would take us.
”It’s 10 miles from here.“
”We could make it in time.“
Keiki chewed on her fingernails. Painted in a deep pink shade.
”You’re faster than me. I could stay here in the car and you could go to the hospital. I’d only slow you down. I’m not exactly a sports person.“
I was torn if I should just go, leave my sister behind, and miss the birth of my twins or if we should make a run for it.
Keiki sighed.
”We’re wasting time debating this. Just go. Give me the booster for my phone and we can stay in touch. I’ll be fine I promise.“
I sighed and looked at her.
”Are you sure Kei-Kei?“
She nudged me forward.
”Go! I don’t want my big brother to miss the birth of my nieces. I’d never hear the end of it. Also if you faint please take pics, I want to remember this day.“ She said grinning.
”Very funny Keiks. I’ll stay in touch.“
”I’m going to be a dad.“ I shouted and she grinned at me, shaking her head.
I gave her the signal booster for her phone, kissed her on her forehead, and made a run for it.
As I was running I kept praying that I made it on time for the birth of our twins.
Which spurred me to run faster.

As another strong contraction hit me I cried out.
Meilani kept shooting me dirty looks.
”Luna. As your doctor, I’m telling you we can’t wait any longer.“
”Please, Mei. I can’t do this without him. Please. Just 5 more minutes, please?“
Meilani closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, she crossed her arms over her chest and sighed, seeing that I wouldn’t budge on this.
”Alright, fine. We’ll wait 5 more minutes. After that, it’s pushing time.“
I nodded.

I was wheezing. Almost wept from joy. My calves are killing me, but I’m almost there. Just a couple more steps and I‘m at the hospital. I could see the building already coming closer.
I made it to the hospital, and rushed through the hospital doors all muddy and sweaty.
As I was on my way to the elevator a voice stopped me.
”Where do you think you’re going, young man? This is a hospital.“
When I turned around Brenda gave me the evil eye.
”Lahela you know the rules.“
”Yes I know. Please! Luna is upstairs, she's about to give birth. I can’t miss that. Please.“
”At least get a little cleaned up!“
I groaned. Seriously?
”Could you be a Karen somewhere else?“ I muttered under my breath.
”What was that?“ She cleared her throat.
”Nothing. I’ll get cleaned up, upstairs. Thanks, Brenda.“
”Yeah. Yeah.“
I sighed in relief as I punched the elevator button and the elevator rode up.
All I cared about was that I made it to the hospital to be there for Lunes when our twins were born.
The elevator dinged and I almost stumbled out of it, because I couldn’t wait to get out into the hall.
The first person I saw was Grace, Luna’s mom walking back and forth. Soraya and Evie were next to her sitting on the hard plastic chairs.
When Grace saw me coming in she started to cry and hugged me. I hugged her back. Though I’m anxious to see Luna.
”Thank god you made it Bryce.“ She put her hands around my face and I smiled at her.
I turned to look at Grace when I didn't see Luna anywhere.
She pointed to a room to the right and that’s when I heard painful screams coming from inside.
Luna must’ve already started pushing. I winced. Hating I couldn’t be there for her from the start. But I tried to not dwell on that. I’m here now and that’s what counts.
Grace smiled at me.
”Luna has already started pushing. She waited until the last minute. But she had to start.“
I nodded and got going.
”She’s inside with Meilani and her head nurse Valerie.“
I nodded and opened the door. Meilani didn’t look up as she guided Luna through the birth.
I quickly scrubbed in as fast as I could and joined Luna and Meilani.
”Okay that’s good Lu. That’s good. Just keep pushing.“ Meilani said in a soothing voice when I got to Luna’s side who shot me an angry look.
”Where the fuck were you B?“
I winced and then I smiled at her for using a curse word.
”Let’s leave story time for after you’ve given birth. What’s important is that I’m here.“
”I’m going to kick your ass for this later.“
I grinned and kissed her forehead.
”I wouldn’t have it any other way.“
Meilani grinned and her head nurse Valerie stood next to Meilani, keeping track of the heart monitor.
Meilani‘s voice got me out of my trance.
”Dad? Wanna do the honors?“
I squeezed Luna‘s hand and stood in the front to catch the first baby.
As I did, a loud cry filled the room and I suddenly held one of my girls in my arms.
”I forget how tiny they are when they’re born.“ Valerie smiled next to me and I nodded.
I looked at my little girl, and a whole new love entered my heart. I wasn’t prepared for this feeling.
It’s as if my heart was going to burst from all this love. Making space for new people entering my life. I still couldn’t believe Luna and I created these beautiful babies.
I took my daughter's little hand in mine and kissed it.
”Hi there, beautiful. Look at you being all pretty huh?“
”A new member in your Ohana.“ Valerie kept sniffing.
I nodded and kept rocking the baby and when she opened her eyes she looked at me and stopped crying.
”It’s your awesome dad. So cool right? Look at your mom. Super strong and going at it.“
Valerie laughed softly at my comment and I grinned.
I turned to Luna and waved with my daughter's little hand at Luna.
I kissed our baby's tiny forehead and Valerie took her from me. Taking care of the washing and weighing.
Then I was at Luna’s side again and together we got to see our second baby. Another loud cry just like her twin sisters filled the room, as she entered the world.
My heart couldn’t be fuller at this second, as I looked down at Luna and saw her tired but happy face look up at me. I kissed her and she sighed.
Meilani‘s voice got us out of our reverie. We must’ve looked as if we smoked too much weed. Goofy expressions on our faces as we looked at Meilani.
”Congratulations you two. I’m so happy that I could be a part of it.“
”I already know my vagina won’t be the same after this.“
Meilani laughed out loud and I grinned too. If Lunes can make jokes then she’s okay.
Valerie walked towards us and handed me Kehlani and Alaia. We heard the door open and when we looked up all we saw were the faces of Grace, Evie, and Soraya.
They all opened the door wider and entered the room.
”Look Keilani Mae and Alaia Rose are finally here with us, Lunes. They’re just as beautiful as their mom and dad.“
Luna rolled her eyes.
”I knew you’d bring yourself into the conversation.“
”What can I say? I’m good-looking. Says so on the onesie.“
Luna just shook her head and grinned, probably too tired for a comeback.
”You’ve done it. You gave birth to two beautiful girls.“ Meilani wiped away some tears. And we all just smiled, letting this little miracle, er…miracles, seep in.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
Soraya and Evie walked towards us and held the little twins. Cuddling them and peppering them with kisses.
”Sky is going to be so jealous that he didn’t hold the twins first. Let’s call him.“ Evie said and Soraya nodded.
They handed them back and I held them close as I put them on Luna’s chest.
Luna started to sob when she saw the twins for the first time. She touched Kehlani's little cheek with her forefinger.
”They’re so tiny and smell so beautiful. Like a new book. For a new chapter of our lives.“
She looked up at me and I nodded, too full of emotions to form a proper sentence so I just nodded and we enjoyed the time with our twins.

Holding your babies? It was a whole new level of love.
It’s something I didn’t know I wanted so much, as I held them close and took in their newborn smell. My love, my life.
I‘d lay down my life for my twins. I’d do anything to keep them safe.
As I looked down at them. I couldn’t believe they were here. It seemed as if I’ve been waiting for years to see their tiny little faces. I swore I’ll be a good mom.
A new exciting and thrilling feeling filled my body.
Giving me a new superpower. I’ve never felt this strong. I felt invincible. That’s probably the meds talking. But I don’t fucking care. It’s exactly where we belonged. I never thought this was the road my life would take me.
With Bryce, Kehlani Mae, and Alaia Rose. Our beautiful little family. Our Ohana. Our lives, no our love has grown ten times fold.
I smiled up at Bryce who had the same look in his cinnamon brown eyes as I did.
He leaned down to give me a gentle kiss, making this moment perfect.

Luna fell asleep and was resting in the hospital bed. As I kept holding the twins.
There was a rocking chair in the corner and I sat down with the twins.
I've been rocking the twins to sleep for over an hour, but it felt as if we were in our tiny pink bubble of love. Nothing could touch us.
I heard a soft knock and looked up as the door opened.
It’s Grace and Brian. Luna’s parents.
Grace just started crying when she saw me again. She tugged at her husband's jacket.
”Do you see what I see? Oh my god Brian, look at those two beautiful angels! I mean I know I’ve seen them earlier, but my heart is about to explode.“
Grace shook Brian’s arm. Almost ripped it out of its sockets and I chuckled to myself. I can see where Luna got her excitement from.
”I know I’m standing right next to you so I see exactly what you see darling.“ Brian replied softly.
Grace rolled her blue-green eyes, just like Luna‘s.
”I don’t even care about your sarcasm right now.“
I smiled at them.
”Do you want to hold them?“ I offered knowing that if I don’t, Grace will just take them from me and cuddle them close to her.
Grace just nodded.
”Say hi to Kehlani Mae and Alaia Rose.“
”Hi there Lani.“ Grace held Kehlani‘s little hand and she blinked her sleepy brown eyes open.
Brian smiled fondly.
”Rosie looks so sweet.“
I sat back down next to Luna who was sleeping peacefully after not only giving birth to one but two babies.
Our rockstar.
I loved that we were able to experience the moment of our twins' birth together. Our love and genetics made this happen.
This is our Ohana. And I’m grateful that we‘ve started a new chapter in our lives.

Jessie
Team Rocket continues! We have been affectionately calling this little series, Double Trouble.  They commissioned parts 7, 8 and 9!
Sky gets a tiny bit of revenge at the end of the chapter. He’s starting to figure things out.
Masterlist
First chapter/ Previous chapter/ Next chapter
Content under the cut!
Sky and this sorcerer kept bouncing around each other like strange little balls in a crowded room. The thing is, the room wasn’t so crowded as the table was small. The Master Sword sat innocently on the table, glimmering under the little light that they had.
Sky sighed and looked at his current… companion. If he could call them that.
They refused to lift their head and face him head on. They hadn’t so much as said a word to him and yet they still seemed to know what they were doing. Shockingly. He had only seen them in the most frantic of outburst that he wasn’t really sure what it was that they brought to the table.
He might have figured it out.
“So…” He starts and watches as they flinch- almost pilling the little bubbling orange liquid they held over this sword. “What are you doing, exactly?”
“Don’t worry about it.” Came their automatic reply.
Well, he didn’t like that at all.
Sky frowns and walks to the other side of the table, coming almost shoulder to shoulder with them. “...That doesn’t answer my question. What are you doing to her?”
They pause. “...Her?”
Sky nods. He knows now, that the legend and name of the spirit of the sword has long died out and he, aside from Zelda and Groose, might be the only one to know about it. But that doesn’t mean he plans on keeping it a secret. He still cares about her.
“Yes. Her. What are you doing to her?”
The sorcerer looks at him (finally) and looks at the sword again. “...I’m just going to see what it’s… she’s made of…”
“Why?”
“....Some metals react to magic differently than others… “ They say in a softer voice. “I’m trying to make sure that no one here blows up.”
Sky had a physical reaction to their words. He’s never once heard that. Four would have known right? He’s a blacksmith. Why is he just learning about this? And why would no one else know this if they all had the Master Sword in their hand at one point or another (not including Four, his brain not so helpfully supplied).
“And why would we blow up?” He ventures to ask.
The magic creature beside him sneaks a side glance before dropping a few drops of the orange liquid onto the sword. The drops changed color, taking on a bright pearlescent blue with hints of green in the bright light.
At the sight of the color change, the other hissed and turned to write some notes down. Sky has never seen those letters in his life. “This is a powerful blade indeed… But not enough to close the rifts we need it to… Some adjustments would have to be made.”
Sky frowned further. “The Master Sword is a holy blade. What more do you need it to do?”
“Close the portals.” They answer him without hesitation for the first time since Sky has arrived into their clutches. “As long as we can close the amount of tears in the space- time continuum faster than the darkness can make them, we can shorten their supply of reinforcements. We can then drain them of soldiers and supplies and eventually get to the main cause- sealing them away for all eternity.”
Sky blinked, his face softening completely. They have an actual plan. It sounds like a good plan. And they seem to know more about what they’re up against than the rest of the heroes. More and more, Sky laments his circumstance. THEY COULD HAVE JUST ASKED TO JOIN FORCES!
“And how exactly do you plan to make the Master Sword strong enough to seal that kind of rip between time and space?” Sky tries to keep the grimace off of his face. He’s interested and intrigued. Not to mention…. They’re not bad to look at from this angle. Very soft on the eyes.
Sky finds himself looking at them a little softer than he had been a few minutes prior.
Luckily for him, they don’t seem to notice and wipe off the droplets of liquid from the sword. “Alright. We need a few materials and supplies to fortify the blade. I’ll have to ask Pinky if she can scout out what we’d need… I’m sure that fairy would have something to say about it as well.”
They sigh and run their hand down their face, trying to be mindful of their glasses. “Right… As long as we can get it all done before the end of the month we can still have a chance to catch up with the damage that’s already been done.”
Sky raises an eyebrow. “Why by the end of the month?”
“Because whatever is causing these things has been going at a steady pace at three new rips every three weeks and a half. So far there’s already 15 but! With every seventh, he closes two, possibly to get a fresh batch of monsters or to try and cover his tracks. We don’t know yet.”
“Impressive.” Sky gaped. “How did you figure all that out?”
“I did no such thing. That was the other two. Pinky and the fairy have been watching this closer than I have. I’m just here to do my magic and make my potions.” They scoff, looking away. For a moment it seems that they’ve forgotten who they're talking to before they look over, seemingly noticing him for the first time. Their face turns scarlet.
Sky smirks slightly. “Are we going to talk about the other two people you happened to turn into?.... Or rather who turned into you?”
They snap back around, looking away and staring directly at the Master Sword on the table.. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“I think one of them tried to punch me-”
“That never happened.”
“And then ran away again-”
“Nope!”
“Then they ran into this other guy-”
“You’re hallucinating. Go sleep.”
“Then you appeared as cute as you are-”
“AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!”

Hey look! New stuff that isn’t a rewrite!
A thanks to Yandy for inspiring me! It was fun adding something super goofy to Mafia Au!
Teeechnically there’s nothing Yandere or mafia in this but, it’s in the Au so it counts! Consider this a filler!
(The named OCs (minus the Dean of course.)that are connected to (y/n) belong to Yandy so if you got questions about them, ask thaaat lovely lass.)
Anywho, enjooooy!

———
It’s a warm afternoon, the sun lazily stretching its rays across the bustling college campus. Students crowd the quad, gathered around a hastily assembled stage.
A buzz thrums through the air, fueled by the promise of an announcement that has everyone on edge. (Y/n) stands with her back against one of the quad’s large trees, arms crossed, looking relaxed yet curious.
Beside her, Tess lounges on the grass, her knees pulled up.
Nic leans against the tree trunk beside her, arms folded, eyes scanning the crowd.
“It’s a shame Jack’s still helping out mom and dad,” (Y/n) muses, glancing at the chaotic crowd. “She’d love this, but she won’t be back in time.”
Tess chuckles, “Lucky for us you mean. She’d probably destroy all of us in whatever madness they’re cooking up.”
(Y/n) smiles, nodding. “True. It’s probably for the best.”
The day seemed too calm, almost as if the entire campus was waiting for something to happen. Tess tilts her head towards (Y/n), her hazel eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Think it’s going to be good?” she asks, barely containing a grin.
(Y/n) shrugs, trying to stay casual but the tension is starting to crawl into her posture.
“Depends on the prize. If it’s another pizza party, I’m not losing a limb over it.”
Nic, who’d been pretending not to care, finally speaks up.
“If they’re gathering this many people, it’s not gonna be a pizza party. You don’t rally the entire campus for cheap cardboard and cheese.”
The trio falls into a watchful silence as the Dean finally steps up to the microphone, looking far too pleased with himself.
The guy had the aura of someone who believed he’d found the next viral college stunt, like this one genius idea was going to get him written into school legend.
The Dean, in a suit just a little too tight, beams at the students, raising his hands like a conquering hero.
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming! Today we have an announcement that will change the next two weeks for ALL of you!” He pauses for effect, and it’s clear he’s basking in the suspense.
Tess, with a casual smirk, mutters, “Hope he’s wearing something waterproof. This crowd’s gonna riot if he says ‘raffle tickets’.”
Dean Farrow clears his throat and grins like a man about to drop a bombshell.
“As you all know, it’s time for our annual campus-wide paintball tournament!”
There’s a faint murmur of excitement, but it’s restrained. Paintball was a yearly thing, fun, but nothing that would send the campus into a frenzy.
(Y/n) raises an eyebrow. “Paintball? Again? That’s it?”
“As you all know, last year’s paintball tournament was canceled due to the campus renovations.”
Disgruntled murmurs were heard throughout the crowd. (Y/n) could relate. No one had been happy last year.
The Dean cleared his throat. “But this year… it’s back!”
The murmurs grew louder, anticipation rising. Nic raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued but trying to play it cool. Tess was already bouncing on the balls of her feet.
The Dean continued, oblivious to the rising storm in front of him. “Now, let’s talk prizes! For the runner up, an all expenses paid spa weekend!”
A few cheers and claps sounded, but nothing too enthusiastic.
“Better than a pizza party!” Tess chirped.
But the Dean wasn’t finished.
“This year, though, we’ve decided to up the stakes. The grand prize for the last person standing—” He pauses again for dramatic effect. “Will be priority registration for next semester and the option to skip one final exam!”
For a second, the world seems to stop. Everyone in the quad freezes. The trio looks stunned. It’s the kind of silence so intense you could hear a pin drop on grass.
“Now students, the tournament will begin—”
A single scream tears through the air as some random student, no doubt acting on pure instinct, whips out a hidden paintball pistol and shoots his friend square in the chest. Bright yellow paint splatters across his shirt as he stumbles back, but the action sets off a chain reaction.
Hell breaks loose.
Students dive for cover, pull paintball guns from their bags, jackets, and God knows where else. Some bolt for the bushes. Others start forming alliances on the fly. The crowd disperses like wildfire, everyone scrambling to avoid being the first casualty as the Dean attempts to control the sudden chaos he unleashed.
“S-Students wait! The tournament won’t be for another-!!” He ducks as several paintballs were shot at him.
Tess, cackling like a madwoman, is already on her feet, using her bag to knock down a student that tried to sneak up on them.
“Now that is a prize worth fighting for!”
Nic, already frowning but with a glint of anticipation in his eyes, pulls a small paintball gun from his satchel.
(Y/n) blinks. “Why do you—”
“I’m not flunking a final because I have to memorize another 400 pages of economics.”
Just as Nic grabs Tess and (Y/n) by their arms, dragging them toward the nearest set of bushes, Tess glances at (Y/n) and says, “Actually, it’s a good thing Jack’s not here. She’d win this in a heartbeat, and we’d all be toast.”
(Y/n) nods, ducking as a paintball whizzes past them. “Yeah, she’d mop the floor with us.”
Nic, who was now crouched behind the dense greenery, adds with a smirk, “You’re not wrong. We’d all be out before we even got started.”
As the chaos erupts around them, (Y/n) peeks over the top of the bench, watching the pandemonium unfold in the quad. Paintballs fly in every direction, splattering students left and right.
A couple of nerds are already hiding under the admin building’s steps, shouting something about regrouping.
“What the hell is happening right now??” (Y/n) gasps, trying to catch her breath.
“Natural selection,” Nic answers, crouched beside them, his eyes darting around like a man possessed. “Okay, here’s the plan.”
Tess grins. “The plan is: we win.”
Nic, already firing at a group of art students rushing them, gives Tess a look. “That’s not a plan.”
“It’s all I need,” Tess retorts, shooting at two students passing by.
Nic rolls his eyes. “The real plan is: we find a safe place, avoid the jocks, they’ll be in full attack mode, and stay clear of the chess club. Those guys play dirty. Trust me.”
“The chess club?” Tess asks, raising an eyebrow.
Nic nods gravely. “They’re organized, strategic, and ruthless. Don’t underestimate them.”
“Speaking from experience?”
“Shut up.”
(Y/n) groaned, leaning back against the bush. "Nic, we don’t even have enough paintball guns!"
Tess grinned, pulling a paintball gun from seemingly nowhere and handing it to (Y/n). "Here, you’re gonna need this."
(Y/n) blinked at her in shock. "Where did you—"
Tess jabbed her thumb in the direction of a guy lying on the ground a few feet away, struggling to get back up. “Borrowed it.”
Nic smirked. "Nice work, Tess."
“Alright,” he continued, his voice lowering as he glanced over the quad. “We need to move. Now.”
Just then, Nic froze, his eyes narrowing. “Crap. Chess club. Twelve o’clock.”
They all whipped their heads in the direction Nic was looking and sure enough, several members of the chess club were efficiently taking people out with precise shots, their strategy impeccable.
“RUN!” Nic shouted, and the three of them bolted from their hiding spot, sprinting across the quad, ducking behind anything they could find.

The manor was unusually quiet, save for the idle hum of conversation among the Chain. The air was thick with the smell of wood polish and the faint echo of footsteps across the hardwood floors.
Warriors leaned back in his chair, wiping a stray smear of blood off his gauntlet while Sky whittle away at a small block of wood , the room basked in the rare moments of calm they were afforded between missions.
“Ugh,” Warriors groaned, tossing the rag onto the table. “I swear, grinding bones after severing limbs is such a hassle. I’ve said it a hundred times, it’s way easier to just grind the body as a whole. Saves time.”
Wind, lounging nearby with a playful smirk, chimed in, “Or, you know, you could just feed the whole bodies to pigs. That’d solve your problem in no time. Pigs’ll eat everything.”
Time, who had been writing a report across from Sky, didn’t even look as he calmly spoke to Wind, his voice measured and even. “Wind is not allowed to assist with body disposal for a month.”
“What?!” Wind protested, sitting up straight. “Again?!? Come on! I’m being punished just for making suggestions now? It's a good idea! The pigs back home could-“
Twilight chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re weird about the pigs, Wind. You use them like you use those seagulls, way too much enthusiasm for… clean-up.”
“That’s different!” Wind huffed, crossing his arms. “Pigs are just… practical.”
"Uh-huh," Four muttered sarcastically, raising an eyebrow as he turned the page of his book.
Meanwhile, Hyrule sat on the couch, scrolling through his phone with a vague smile, half-listening to the chatter around him. Time, however, was only pretending to read the report in front of him. His blank expression hid the mental whirlwind after he decided to check on how (Y/n)’s paintball game was going on his phone.
The screen in front of him showed what could only be described as a literal war zone on campus, students running, screaming, and paintballs flying in every direction like some kind of apocalyptic battle.
Time’s eyebrows rose. How had it devolved into this so quickly? He knew about the prize, but he hadn’t anticipated this level of chaos from a bunch of college students. He forced himself to remain outwardly calm, though his blank expression became more strained with each passing second.
Just then, Hyrule’s phone buzzed. He blinked and frowned slightly at the unknown number, hesitating before answering. “Hello?”
There was a brief moment of silence, then (Y/n)’s frantic, breathless voice exploded through the phone.
“SEND DUDES! AND NOT TIME, CAUSE I DON’T TRUST HIS DEPTH PERCEPTION!”
Time’s eye twitched sharply at her comment, and for a brief second, the other Links swore they saw a vein pop on his forehead. He grunted quietly in annoyance but remained silent, though his expression was growing more strained by the second. He was still distracted by the chaos unfolding on his screen-paintballs flying everywhere, students diving behind cover, and… was that someone wearing a trash can as armor?
“What-” Hyrule started to say, but before he could get a full sentence out, there was another crash on (Y/n)’s end of the line.
“NIC, BEHIND YOU! NO, NOT THAT WAY-“
(Y/n)’s voice came back, still chaotic but trying to sound cheery. “Anyway, gotta go, good luck! See you soon!” And with that, the call abruptly ended.
The room was silent for a beat, everyone waiting for Hyrule to explain. Time didn’t seem to notice the stares, his eyes still glued to his screen, watching the unfolding mayhem with thinly veiled fascination and horror.
“What was that about?” Four asked, leaning forward, his face a mixture of concern and confusion.
Hyrule pocketed his phone and glanced around the room. “Uh… (Y/n) needs help. She said they’re in the middle of something, and-” he paused, glancing awkwardly at Time, “-she, uh… doesn’t want you to come. Something about your depth perception?”
Time’s eye twitched again. His lips pressed into a thin line, but he stayed silent, though the tension radiating off him was palpable.
Warriors snorted. “She’s never gonna let you live that down.”
Time’s expression remained unreadable, but his fingers twitched as though he were imagining the penal he’d perform on her. He forced himself to exhale through his nose slowly, pretending to look calm.
Twilight, chuckling, grabbed his bag. “We should head out. Sounds like she’s in the middle of some chaos.”
Wind slung his bag over his shoulder with a grin. “What’s the worst that could happen? It’s just a tournament, right?”
Four rolled his eyes as he followed Wind. “Yeah, because ‘just a tournament’ always ends in a disaster with us.”
Twilight laughed and nodded in agreement.
As the Chain started heading toward the door, Time remained seated, his expression still unreadable. The others gave him a curious glance, but he waved them off. “I’ve got other matters to handle.”
Once the door clicked shut behind them, Time let out a long, slow exhale, his carefully constructed calm mask slipping. His eyebrow twitched one last time before he muttered under his breath, “I’ve got half a mind to go down there myself and put a paintball between her eyes…my depth perception is fine.”
He stared at the screen.
. . .
Chaos continued.
. . .
He sighed.
——
. . . . . . . . . .
——
The group arrived at the college, their boots barely making a sound on the eerily quiet campus.
The air was unusually still, lacking the lively hum of students that Hyrule had described. Warriors narrowed his eyes as they walked further in, his instincts kicking in immediately, scanning the area for any sign of trouble.
“This is… strange,” Four commented, his gaze sweeping across the empty grounds. “Shouldn’t there be more…people around?”
“Yeah,” Hyrule agreed, glancing over his shoulder as though expecting (Y/n) to pop out from behind a tree. “Way too quiet.”
As they ventured further down the pathway, their pace slowed when they began to notice the state of the campus.
Banners hung torn and ragged, some barely fluttering in the faint breeze. Tables and chairs were scattered across the walkways, overturned with legs bent at odd angles. Posters were ripped apart, their remnants littering the ground like confetti after a storm.
“Looks like something went down here,” Wind muttered, eyes narrowing as he nudged aside a crumpled banner with his foot.
Warriors crouched near an overturned chair, his expression unreadable. “Stay on guard.”
They moved toward the heart of the campus, the atmosphere tense. The quad, once vibrant and bustling with students, now resembled a battlefield. Tables and chairs were toppled over, barricades had been hastily thrown together, and the occasional smear of paint marked various surfaces.
“I’ve seen war zones cleaner than this,” Four remarked, both baffled and somewhat impressed as he took in the chaotic scene.
“Where are all the students?” Twilight’s voice was tight, his eyes scanning every corner of the quad.
Warriors’ eyes flicked to the closed doors of the cafeteria on the far side. “We’ll find out.”
The group approached the doors cautiously, the silence growing heavier with each step. Warriors reached out to open the door, his hand mere inches from the handle when-
BAM!
The doors flew open, and a student tumbled out, barely managing to roll to their feet. More students followed, sprinting out after them, eyes wide with panic. They ducked behind cover as a barrage of paintballs zipped through the air from inside the cafeteria.
The heroes barely dodged as a few stray paintballs whizzed past, hitting the walls behind them.
“What the-” Wind exclaimed, jumping aside to avoid being hit.
They all exchanged glances before cautiously peeking into the cafeteria. What they saw inside was chaos in its purest form.
Students were ducking behind upturned tables and hastily constructed barricades, some scrambling for cover while others fired paintball guns from behind makeshift shields.
However, the level of paint on each participant varied, those with more splatters were lingering on the outskirts of the room, making their way to designated “out” zones where they waited with mild frustration. Others, still largely untouched, remained deep in the fray, determined to emerge victorious.
Hyrule, crouching behind the door frame , stared at the scene in disbelief. “Is this… is this what school is like now?”
Four, beside him and inspecting a large splatter of paint on the wall, furrowed his brow. “It’s like a battle… but with paint? Why are they taking it so seriously?”
Warriors squinted, scanning the room for any familiar face. “This has to be the tournament (Y/n) mentioned… and it looks like she’s in the middle of it.”
Wind, eyeing the students who had just bolted outside, grinned. “Well, I guess we’re jumping in.”
“Let’s find (Y/n) and get her out of this,” Four added, already strategizing their next move.
With determined expressions, they pushed into the cafeteria, weaving through the mayhem while dodging the constant splatter of paintballs. Whatever mess (Y/n) had found herself in, the Chain was about to find out.
——
——
Warriors, Twilight, Hyrule, Four, and Wind ducked low as they weaved through the chaos of the college campus. Paintballs whizzed past them, splattering on walls, floors, and the occasional student who didn’t move fast enough.
The paintball guns they had snagged from fallen participants were a welcome relief, helping them fend off incoming attacks and maintain some semblance of control in the ongoing mayhem.
The campus felt like a war zone, desks and chairs overturned, students screaming and shouting as they dove behind cover. Paint splattered walls lined their path, but the group pressed forward, dodging fire and returning shots when necessary.
“How do they even have this much ammo?” Four muttered, pausing to reload his paintball gun as they moved deeper into the school.
“I don’t know, but I’m running low,” Wind grumbled, shaking his gun and checking the chamber. “Why do I always end up in these situations?”
Warriors chuckled, eyes gleaming as he fired a few shots in return. “It’s not so bad. Good practice, if you ask me.”
“Yeah, but no one’s actually dying,” Hyrule muttered, sounding a little uneasy as he ducked behind an overturned desk for cover.
Twilight fired off a few quick shots, covering their retreat as they dashed into another hallway. “Stay sharp. We still don’t know who’s controlling this madness, and we haven’t found (Y/n) yet.”
The echoes of paintball guns firing filled the corridor as they navigated through the chaos.
The action was intense, but it wasn’t long before things took a turn. Wind and Four, distracted by the onslaught, suddenly found themselves separated from the others, their backs pressed against a wall as two paint-splattered club members (mountain climbing club by the logo on their shirts) approached with fresh guns at the ready.
“Wind! out of ammo?” Four asked, quickly assessing the situation as the two club members drew closer.
“Yeah, I’m tapped,” Wind muttered, glancing nervously at the pair stalking toward them. “And these two look like they mean business.”
The club members raised their paintball guns, smirking as they prepared to fire.
Just as things looked bleak, a rapid series of shots rang out, and both club members were hit from behind, neon paint splattering across their backs. They yelped in surprise, stumbling forward before dramatically collapsing onto the ground, “defeated.”
Wind and Four blinked in surprise, staring at the paint-covered students for a moment before turning to see Tess standing a few feet away, her own paintball gun held confidently in hand. Her combat getup, though splattered with paint, gave her an air of authority.
“Come with me if you want to live!” Tess shouted dramatically.
One of the downed students groaned weakly from the ground, raising a hand. “No one’s actually dying…”
Tess immediately shot them again, causing the student to flinch and scramble for cover. “Shut it!” she barked, not missing a beat.
Wind and Four exchanged glances before quickly deciding to follow her. They dashed forward, Tess leading them through the chaos with expert precision. Her eyes constantly scanned their surroundings, ever vigilant.
“Good timing!” Wind called out as they caught up.
Tess glanced over her shoulder. “You’re the guys who know those other two! The one with the scars and the other with the pink streak in his hair. What were their names again?”
“That’s Wild and Legend,” Wind replied.
“Weird names,” Tess commented with a grin. “I love it.”
“Where’s (Y/n)?” Four asked, narrowly dodging a stray paintball as they rounded a corner.
“She’s with our friend Nic,” Tess answered, never breaking stride. “I’m Tess, by the way. But listen, this paintball tournament has gone way past fun.” She paused for a moment, “Ok not really, but it’s turned into a full-blown warzone! The clubs are taking this way too seriously. Especially the book and bird-watching clubs. You guys ready for a real fight?”
At that moment, Warriors, Twilight, and Hyrule rejoined the group, their paintball guns still at the ready as they surveyed the situation.
Wind glanced around, assessing the chaos with a smirk. “This is more like it.”
Twilight shook his head, though a smile tugged at his lips. “Lead the way, Miss. We’re ready.”
And with that, they charged deeper into the fray, ready to rescue (Y/n) and see just what kind of madness she had gotten herself into this time.
———
——
Tess led the group through the chaotic halls, her hazel eyes scanning the area with the precision only someone used to leading tactical maneuvers during a paintball battle could have. The sounds of paintball fire echoed off the walls, students darting between cover in a frenzied battle for supremacy. Warriors, Twilight, Hyrule, Four, and Wind followed closely, keeping low and exchanging quick shots with other competitors to keep them at bay.
As they rounded a corner, Tess abruptly stopped and raised her hand, eyes widening. “Get down!” she hissed, diving behind a set of overturned benches. Without hesitation, the Chain followed her lead, crouching down just as a group of paint-covered students sprinted past, panic clear on their faces as they were still being shot at despite their clear disqualification.
One student, a guy with a brightly colored scarf, slowed down just long enough to shake his fist at them. “You think you’re so clever, huh? Wait until we unleash the library cart rampage on you! You won’t stand a chance!”
Another student, lagging behind, called out, “Yeah! And I’ll bring the staplers next time!”
Before Tess could respond, a barrage of paintball grenades was lobbed in their direction. “Move!” she barked, grabbing Wind by the back of his shirt and pulling him aside just before the grenades exploded in bursts of color. The group narrowly dodged the splatter, the paint hitting the ground where they had just been standing.
Once the danger passed, Tess motioned them forward, leading them toward a nearby building. She pulled open a door, and the heroes rushed inside, eager for some semblance of safety.
Tess let out a sharp, and practiced birdcall as they entered.
After a moment, another bird call was heard as Nic popped out from a teacher’s closet, looking alert but mercifully paint-free. “Thought you were goner for a sec,” he said, smirking at Tess.
Then, with a loud thunk, (Y/n) pushed the lid off a trash can and emerged, blinking as a crumpled piece of paper slid off her head. “Tactical hiding,” she said with a grin, though she was trying (and failing) to shake off some lingering bits of trash.
Warriors raised an eyebrow, taking in the scene. “Really?”
(Y/n) shrugged. “Hey, it worked, didn’t it?”
Twilight chuckled as Four shook his head, clearly amused by the unorthodox tactics.
“Nice timing,” Nic said, still standing by the closet door. “You’re the cavalry, right?”
Warriors nodded, already assessing the situation. “Something like that.”
Tess handed out extra ammo, moving with the calm efficiency of someone who had done this many times before. “Alright, listen up. We’ve been holding out here, but things are escalating. Some of the clubs are pulling out their weirder strategies.”
Four, catching his breath, glanced at (Y/n). “You okay?”
(Y/n) nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine. Nic’s been keeping me out of trouble.”
Tess gave Nic a nod. “You can thank him later. But for now, we’ve got a tournament to win.”
Before anyone could respond, (Y/n)’s phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen and froze. “Uh, one second…” She quickly answered, her voice suddenly a bit tense. “Hey, Jack! Hi! What’s up?”
On the other end, Jack’s voice was sharp, cold. “What the hell is going on?”
(Y/n) fumbled for an answer, glancing nervously at Nic and Tess, both of whom had gone pale. “Oh, uh, it’s really nothing- qjust, you know, a paintball tournament! Totally normal college stuff, no big deal!”
There was a long pause. In the background, they could faintly hear Jack speaking to someone. “Tell me exactly what’s happening,” she demanded, her voice firm and commanding. A student’s voice, trembling and intimidated, responded, “It’s the prize, ma’am’ first priority registration and to skip out on one final! That’s why everyone’s going crazy.”
The line went dead. (Y/n) stared at her phone in disbelief, “She hung up on me.” As the others in the room exchanged horrified looks.
Tess groaned, her face paling even further. “Oh no. This is bad. Really, really bad.”
Nic ran a hand through his hair, clearly panicking now. “Jack is on a warpath. We are so dead.”
Warriors furrowed his brow. “Who’s Jack?”
(Y/n) let out a small sigh, trying to hide her amusement at the whole situation. “My baby sister,” she said casually, though there was no missing the tension that had gripped the room.
“You remember she’s a year younger than you right?”
“Still my baby sister.”
Hyrule blinked in confusion. “Why is everyone so scared?”
(Y/n) shook her head with a grin, clearly unaffected by the dread that had spread among the others. “Because Jack’s… well, Jack. She’s a force of nature when she gets involved in something like this. But don’t worry,” she added, her tone light and teasing. “She’s terrifying, but she’s family.”
Tess let out a nervous laugh, clearly still shaken. “Yeah, ‘terrifying’ is an understatement.”
Nic looked between Tess and (Y/n), his expression grim. “We’ve faced some tough competition, but if Jack’s on the move now, we’re in for the fight of our lives.”
Wind, bouncing on his feet, cracked a grin. “Sounds fun! I’m ready for anything!”
Twilight crossed his arms, his lips twitching in amusement. “I think we’ll manage.”
“Yeah,” Warriors said, his voice calm and resolute. “We’ve handled worse. Let’s just make sure we’re ready.”
With Jack now in the mix, the stakes had been raised to an entirely new level.
But despite the panic in Tess and Nic’s eyes, (Y/n) couldn’t help but smile.
Warriors suddenly frowned, glancing around the small hideout. “Wait a second, have any of you seen Legend or Wild? I’ve no doubt they’d be involved.”
At his question, (Y/n), Nic, and Tess exchanged uneasy looks.
Warriors narrowed his eyes. “…What are those looks for?”
“Weeell…” Tess started, scratching the back of her head, “they were helping us for a while.”
“Yeah,” Nic added, “they joined up with us earlier. Legend, Wild, and (Y/n) completely demolished the competition.”
Tess nodded, a grin creeping onto her face. “Took out the cheerleaders too!”
“Absolutely wiped the floor with them,” (Y/n) said, her pride evident. But then she hesitated. “At least… until things got a little complicated?”
Twilight raised a brow. “Complicated? What do you mean?”
Tess sighed, shooting (Y/n) a look who smiled sheepishly before answering. “Let’s just say their, uh… desire for the prize kicked in.”
The heroes stared at her in disbelief. Four folded his arms. “There’s no way they turned on you for something as ridiculous as—”
Suddenly, a paintball whizzed by (Y/n)’s head, splattering bright pink paint across the wall behind her. She quickly ducked behind cover with Nic and Tess, all of them trying to avoid the shots being fired in their direction.
Out the window, Wild crouched a short distance away, peering over the edge of a table as he adjusted his aim. “Sorry, (Y/n)! But I’m not dealing with that physics final!”
(Y/n) peeked out from behind the barricade, glaring at him through the window. “Seriously?!”
Before Wild could shoot again, Legend appeared, leaping down from a nearby shelf with a paintball pistol in each hand. He pointed one at Wild and the other at (Y/n)’s group. “Only person who’s gonna win is ME!”
Wild glanced at him, his eyes narrowed in a mix of exasperation and amusement. “You’ve got, like, two classes! You don’t even need priority registration, you damn hoarder!”
“And YOU need to be more dedicated to your studies! Ever heard of ‘testing out’ early?”
Wild rolled his eyes, ducking down as he dodged a few incoming paintballs. “Oh, come on! Skipping any final sounds good to anyone, okay?”
Twilight, still crouched behind a barricade, finally spoke up, unable to believe what he was seeing. “You two need to stand down! This is ridiculous!”
Wild shot back, “You don’t understand how bad exams are!”
One of the non-student heroes chimed in, shaking his head. “It’s just a stupid prize!”
At that, every student in the area turned to him as if he’d just proclaimed the most foolish thing imaginable.
As the standoff continued, chaos erupted. A random student, spotting the madness, shouted out to their teammates. “Hey! Look! They’re at it again!”
With the distraction, everyone began shooting and dodging, paintballs flying everywhere as (Y/n) sprinted out of the room with Nic and Tess hot on her heels, the rest of the group following closely behind.
Warriors, Twilight, Four, Hyrule, and Wind quickly regrouped with them, ducking and weaving between overturned tables and makeshift cover.
The next hour was a whirlwind of action. Every time (Y/n)’s group thought they’d gained the upper hand, Wild and Legend would pop up, guns blazing, trying to take down (Y/n) and each other with relentless determination.
“We’ve got to take them down!” (Y/n) huffed, crouching behind a row of tipped-over chairs. “They’re too good at this!”
Twilight popped his head up to fire off a few paintballs, only to duck again as Legend’s retaliatory shots whizzed past his head. “That’s easier said than done! These two are treating this like a battlefield!”
Warriors snorted from his position behind a tree. “Typical. We’re stuck in a ridiculous tournament, and they’re acting like it’s a warzone.”
Wind, who had joined the fray with glee, shouted, “I can’t believe they’re going all out over this! I love it!”
As they weaved through the chaos, (Y/n) caught a glimpse of the aftermath of the art club’s paintball rampage. Warriors commented on the terrifying efficiency of it all. “Look at the way the paintballs hit those students! They’re making it look like an art installation gone wrong.”
“That’s probably Jackie’s doing, probably took out the art club afterwards” (Y/n) said, with a grin. “Come on guys! Even if we hate it, if we don’t join forces, we won’t stand a chance against her!”
“She’s right and I hate it!” Tess chirped.
“Tess, I love you, but the shut t he FU-“
“I found more enemies!”
“Crap! The photography club! RUN.”
“Avoid the camera flashes!”

——
The paintball tournament was reaching its intense final showdown, and the field was nothing short of chaos. (Y/n), Wild, and Legend stood at opposite ends of the battlefield, their eyes narrowing as they sized each other up.
“(Y/n), just give it up,” Wild said, holding his paintball gun at the ready. “We’re not backing down, not when we’re this close.”
Legend gave a cocky smirk. “You think you can cute your way out of this?”
Before (Y/n) could even answer, Tess, who was covered head to toe in splattered paint and grinning like a madwoman, shouted from her hiding spot, “Don’t listen to them! Keep pushing! You’ve got this!”
Wind, equally paint-splattered and grinning like it was the best day of his life, chimed in. “Yeah! No standing down! This is war!”
Nic groaned from where he lay on the ground, covered in paint and utterly defeated. “Can someone please just finish this? I’ve been out for ten minutes…”
Meanwhile, Four leaned against a wall, his face twisted in frustration as he wiped paint off his cheek. “I swear, when we get back, I’m throwing an axe at Time for letting us walk into this mess.”
Twilight, looking equally as worn, nodded in agreement as he dusted himself off. “Seconded. And I’m helping you.”
Nearby, Warriors was struggling to free himself from the netting that had somehow been shot at him by the taxidermy club. “A little help here? I’m not going down like this, ugh, this is embarrassing.”
(Y/n), sensing the tension and not wanting to be the one to lose, decided to try one last tactic. She pouted, puffing out her cheeks and widening her eyes as she stepped forward, putting on her most innocent expression. “C’mon, guys… do we really have to do this? I mean, you could just let me win. I promise I won’t rub it in or anything. Pretty please?”
Wild and Legend exchanged a look, completely unconvinced. Wild raised an eyebrow. “Are you seriously trying to pull that on us?”
Legend rolled his eyes, loading another paintball into his pistol. “Come on, (Y/n). We know you better than that.”
(Y/n)’s pout quickly turned into a smirk, her eyes glinting mischievously as she dropped the act. “Oh, please. Like I’d waste real charm on the two of you. I just thought you’d appreciate a challenge before I mop the floor with your sorry asses.”
Wild and Legend both aimed their paintball guns at her, ready for the standoff. But before anyone could pull the trigger, a shadow loomed over them.
Suddenly, there was a loud clink as a paint grenade was tossed right into their midst. The entire group barely had time to react before a massive explosion of colorful paint detonated around them, splattering the entire field. (Y/n), Wild, and Legend were instantly covered in a mix of pinks, blues, and greens.
Stunned, they looked up to see none other than (Y/n)’s sister, Jack, standing in front of a window on the second floor with her perpetually deadpan expression. She was still wearing her paintball gear, yet somehow looked spotless compared to the absolute mess everyone else was in.
Nic groaned, wiping paint from his face. “Great. Her.”
(Y/n) shook her head, squinting up at her sister. “Jack! How the hell did you even find us?”
Jack, her face unchanging, pointed her paintball gun at a tall student standing at her side, who was visibly trembling. His wide eyes darted nervously between the group and Jack, whose sharp, unyielding will practically radiated from her as she stared him down.
“He told me,” Jack said flatly.
The poor student, clearly regretting every decision that had led him to this moment, seemed to shrink under the weight of her expression. He looked like he was about to pass out.
(Y/n) sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Jack, if I have to pay for someone’s therapy because of you, I’m telling Mom to take your phone.”
Jack’s usual deadpan expression broke for a second, her brows knitting slightly. “What did you want me to do? You weren’t telling me anything. I had no clue where you were!”
(Y/n) threw her arms up. “I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d show up and cause chaos—like you always do!”
“I had to cause chaos! How else was I supposed to find you?” Jack shot back, still not showing much emotion, but the sibling bickering undertone clear.
The poor student, caught in the middle of this sibling spat, looked like he was about to collapse from stress. Jack’s gaze flickered briefly to him before (Y/n) rolled her eyes.
“Jack, if this kid needs therapy because of you, I’m telling Mom, and I’ll make sure she takes your phone for a month.”
“Wouldn’t stop me,” Jack shrugged again.
Warriors, still trying to free himself from the netting, snorted. “Sounds like sibling love at its finest.”
Jack glanced at him briefly before shooting a few more paintballs at the retreating student, who yelped and darted into a nearby building.
“Yeah, he’s gonna need a lot of therapy,” Tess chirped up, her expression cheerful now that she defeated.
(Y/n) groaned again, glancing at the paint-covered battlefield. “Well, great. Now that she’s here, we’re definitely screwed.”
Jack blinked, her paintball gun lazily resting on her shoulder. “You’re already screwed.”
(Y/n), Wild, and Legend exchanged glances, all three of them covered in paint from the grenades.
She was right.
It was clear as day.
They lost.
The trio sighed in defeat.

The paintball tournament had finally reached its conclusion, and the aftermath was nothing short of apocalyptic. The once clean field was now littered with paint splattered walls, overturned barricades, and exhausted students. The Dean stood near the podium, nervously adjusting his tie as he surveyed the carnage with wide, horrified eyes.
In the center of the chaos stood Jack, spotless as ever, calmly accepting her victory. The Dean, still clearly shaken, stepped forward to shake her hand.
“Uh… congratulations,” he said weakly, his voice barely carrying over the nervous murmurs of the audience. He glanced around at the mess, his face pale, clearly unable to hide his dismay. “W-Well played…”
The crowd clapped politely, though the sound was uneven. Many of the students who had been taken down by Jack’s unrelenting assault looked terrified, their eyes wide as they cast anxious glances in her direction, as if half-expecting her to take them out again.
In contrast, those who hadn’t had the misfortune of crossing paths with Jack wore expressions of annoyance or irritation. Legend, Wild, and (Y/n) stood off to the side, sulking with arms crossed, paint still dripping from their clothes.
Tess and Wind, on the other hand, looked like they’d just experienced the best day of their lives. Tess was still beaming, chatting excitedly with Wind about their earlier antics. “I told you! Absolute chaos, just like I said!”
Wind laughed, wiping paint from his hair. “Yeah, that was insane! I wanna come here when I’m of age.”
As the rest of the defeated students began to shuffle out of the arena, the Dean stepped up to the microphone, clearing his throat nervously. “A-And now, before we conclude this… uh… event, I’d like to announce the runner-ups, who will receive the spa weekend prize…”
Just as he was about to continue, he leaned a bit too close to the microphone and muttered under his breath, “This wasn’t even supposed to happen for another two weeks…”
The microphone, unfortunately for him, picked up every word, and the arena went dead silent for a split second before one confused student in the crowd stood up and yelled, “Wait, does that mean the prize is doubled?!”
The Dean froze, his eyes wide with panic as he waved his hands frantically. “No, no! That’s not— I didn’t mean—”
Before he could fully explain, another student shouted from the back, “So there’s still a chance for victory?!”
The tension in the air shifted immediately. Students began to stir, eyes lighting up as they processed what had just been said. In unison, almost like they had rehearsed it, the crowd roared to life, pulling out their paintball guns with renewed energy.
“Wait! No! Stop!” The Dean pleaded desperately, stepping back from the podium as students began to scream and charge across the battlefield once more, paintballs flying in every direction.
Pandemonium erupted. Paint splattered across the field as the chaos reignited, louder and more out of control than ever. The Dean tried to shout orders, but his voice was drowned out by the roars of students launching into the fray.
(Y/n)’s eyes widened in alarm as she ducked behind the nearest barricade. “Everyone, hide!” she screamed, motioning frantically for the others.
“Run!”
Hyrule dove behind a crate as paintballs zipped past his head. “Not again!”
Four, still drenched in paint from earlier, groaned as he took cover beside (Y/n). “I swear, if I get hit one more time…”
Warriors looked panicked as he dodged another net that had been shot in his direction. “I JUST GOT FREED FROM THE FIRST ONE!”
Twilight ducked from a few paint filled water ballon’s.
As paintballs flew through the air and the field descended into complete anarchy, (Y/n) peeked over the barricade just in time to see the Dean running for cover, shouting into his microphone, “Please! This wasn’t supposed to happen!”
But no one listened.
She quickly caught sight of Jack, still pristine and untouched by a single drop of paint. That deadpan expression only made (Y/n)’s paint-covered form itch for some petty revenge.
With a mischievous glint in her eyes, (Y/n) stood up and cupped her hands around her mouth, shouting over the noise, “How about a kiss from your big sister as a second prize?!”
Jack, who had been calmly observing the mayhem with her usual unreadable expression, blinked in surprise. Her gaze locked onto (Y/n) just as her older sister started sprinting toward her, arms outstretched with paint-covered hands, ready for vengeance.
“Come here, Jack!” (Y/n) yelled, grinning wildly. “You can’t escape my love!”
For the first time that day, Jack’s expression faltered ever so slightly. She narrowed her eyes and immediately turned on her heel, sprinting away from (Y/n) at full speed, her paintball gun still bouncing on her shoulder.
“Get back here!” (Y/n) cackled, chasing her sister through the battlefield.
“Welp there she goes.” Tess comments.
“And leaves us here.” Nic adds.
“…”
“…”
Hyrule looks at the nervously. “Guuuys..?”
The two pull out their reloaded paintball guns.
“Guuuuuys…!”
Without another word, the two ran off to follow their cackling friend.
Warriors groaned, having had a third shot at him.
“Gods damnit, AFTER THEM!”
And so the chaos continued.
———
———
Time had been seated at his desk when everyone returned home, he hadn’t so much as looked up from the paperwork in front of him as he greeted them. “Welcome back.”
Time then tilted his head to the side, just as a throwing axe embedded itself into the wall right where his head had been. His only reaction was a faint sigh.
Four stood across the room, hand still raised from the throw, glaring daggers at him. “You knew. You knew about the paintball tournament, didn’t you?”
Hyrule, Twilight, and Warriors joined in with exasperated complaints, all looking equally disheveled and covered in remnants of paint. “Seriously?” Hyrule groaned. “You couldn’t give us a heads-up?”
Warriors crossed his arms, his normally immaculate hair and outfit still splattered with streaks of paint. “Worst prank you’ve ever done to date,” he muttered, shaking his head in frustration.
Twilight, still wiping paint from his hair, grumbled under his breath. “I had to crawl through two miles of paint-covered mud, Time. Two miles.”
Time, still unfazed, leaned back in his chair, eyes flicking up to meet theirs. “You didn’t ask,” he said simply, as if that explained everything.
Meanwhile, Legend and Wild slunk into the room, sulking miserably. Both of them had clearly taken their defeat in the tournament hard. Legend scowled as he dropped into a chair, crossing his arms. “I can’t believe we lost.”
Wild, equally as sour, nodded in agreement. “It was rigged. I swear, Tess and Jack must’ve had inside information.”
Sky, who had been noticeably absent from the tournament, offered them a sympathetic look as he sat down nearby. “At least you got to spend time with (Y/n),” he said gently, his voice full of good-natured empathy.
For a moment, the room went quiet, the rest of the group collectively turning their attention to Sky with a suspicious squint. They exchanged a glance, each silently wondering why Sky hadn’t joined them in the chaos.
Noticing the stares, Time finally broke the silence. “Sky didn’t know about the tournament. He volunteered to handle everyone’s duties while you were gone,” he explained, his tone entirely matter of fact.
Then, with a slight pause, he added, “And regardless, I would’ve forbidden him from going. We all know he wouldn’t have stayed calm if he saw (Y/n) getting shot at. Paintballs or not.”
The others blinked, as if suddenly imagining the apocalyptic expression Sky would’ve worn had he seen (Y/n) in the line of fire.
The thought alone was enough to make them collectively shudder.
Sky pouted in response, his lips twitching in mild protest, but he remained quiet, clearly knowing that Time had a point.
As the conversation continued, Wild’s Sheikah Slate buzzed in his pocket. He fished it out, his eyes scanning the screen for a moment before his lips curled into a mischievous grin. “Oy, Legend,” he muttered, nudging his fellow hero. “You’ve gotta see this.”
Legend, still sulking, glanced over at the screen, and his own pout immediately transformed into a smile. The two exchanged a knowing look, their earlier misery now replaced with something else.
Though no one noticed as they continued to complain to Time.
——

——
The school had been closed all week, the aftermath of the chaotic paintball tournament still lingering like an unspoken legend amongst students and faculty alike. It was now the weekend, and the Chain had enjoyed the peace and quiet, until the sound of shuffling feet broke the serenity.
Legend and Wild were at the door, both looking rather pleased with themselves as they pulled on jackets and shouldered small bags, ready to head out. The rest of the group, scattered around the living room, looked up curiously.
“Where are you two going?” Twilight asked, leaning back in his chair.
“We’re cashing in on that runner up prize from the tournament,” Legend answered smugly, adjusting his bag strap.
Wild grinned. “Yep. Spa weekend, here we come.”
The room fell silent for a moment as everyone processed the information. Time, sitting at his desk nearby, glanced up with an annoyed but resigned expression. His face wore the look of a man who knew the full details but, for once, was powerless to stop it. He sighed and waved them off. “Just… don’t cause any trouble.”
Legend smirked as he opened the door, Wild close behind. “No promises.”
And with that, they were gone, leaving the rest of the group in a confused silence.
An hour passed in relative peace, until Hyrule, who had been absentmindedly flipping through a book, paused and frowned. “Wait a second,” he muttered, “Wasn’t (Y/n) also a runner up? She got taken out at the same time as Wild and Legend…”
The room froze.
Twilight and Four slowly exchanged glances, Warriors straightened in his seat, and Hyrule’s eyes went wide as realization set in.
The only sound in the room was Time’s heavy sigh as he leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples, and Sky let out a pitiful, resigned noise, somewhere between a whimper and a sad groan.
Within seconds, chaos erupted.
“Those bastards!” Wind growled, reaching for his phone.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me!” Warriors shouted, already typing furiously.
“They took her with them?!” Four’s voice cracked as he sent out his own frantic text.
Phones buzzed and pinged as the Chain began bombarding Wild and Legend with messages. Some sent text after text, while others left scathing voice messages, each more demanding than the last.
Twilight’s voice was barely coherent as he left his message: “Explain yourselves. Now.”
Warriors was no better, his tone sharp: “You’ve got five minutes to respond, or we’re coming after you.”
Sky, looking utterly heartbroken, didn’t even bother typing, he just stared at his phone screen, looking like someone had kicked a puppy.
Meanwhile, Legend, Wild, and (Y/n) were lounging comfortably on cushioned chairs in an upscale spa.
A warm breeze carried the scent of flowers and fresh water, and the trio were perfectly relaxed. (Y/n) sat between Legend and Wild, the three of them surrounded by refreshments and snacks on a small table between their chairs.
Legend stretched with a contented sigh, taking a sip from his drink. “See? This is exactly what we needed after all that.”
Wild grinned, leaning back in his chair. “Best prize. No distractions, no one nagging us… just peace and quiet.”
(Y/n), her eyes closed as she relaxed, hummed in agreement. “We should do spas more often.”
Legend chuckled softly, his arm casually resting along the back of her chair. “Well, I won’t complain about that idea.”
Wild’s phone buzzed on the table, but he didn’t even glance at it.
The buzzing continued, both of their phones lighting up and vibrating with increasing frequency as message after message poured in.
Still, neither Wild nor Legend made any move to check them. The grin on Wild’s face only grew as the sound became more insistent.
“Think they’ve figured it out by now?” (Y/n) asked with a smirk, eyes still closed.
Legend gave a nonchalant shrug, his eyes glinting mischievously. “Oh, definitely. But we earned this.”
Wild snorted, popping a snack into his mouth. “Let ’em suffer.”
And with that, they ignored the incessant buzzing, eventually muting it, soaking up every second of their hard won spa weekend, leaving the rest of their companions in a frenzy of unanswered questions.

There was a daunting feeling haunting the mess hall this evening. It was eerily quiet as they dined—an unusual stillness had replaced the usual clatter of plates and echoing voices.  Rosie’s eyes drifted to Bailey, who kept playing with his food, swirling his fork through his mashed potatoes. He had a faraway look in his eyes, his mind completely absent.  Today’s mission to Marienburg hadn’t been too terrible—only one ship had been lost. But their minds were still in Bremen, seeing Nash’s fortress go into an uncontrollable dive.  Rosie knew from the start this would happen; the knowledge he’d be losing friends and colleagues was forever present in his mind. He had accepted it, knew it was the cost of what they were fighting for. But the reality of it, of living through it, was all too different. They had to carry on, though. It was the only way forward. “Anyone else’s potatoes drier than the desert, or is it just mine?” Pappy broke the silence, a welcome intrusion into the heavy air.

Chapter 3: Composition
A little bell dinged above Baekhyun as he pushed open the old wooden door and he sighed as the smell of freshly baked goods surrounded him. His heart tightened slightly, remembering the smells that would fill their small home when D.O. would cook.
“Hello,” a young woman said from behind the counter. “How can I help you?”
“Umm…” he hesitated and craned his neck to see behind the counter as he took some small steps forward. “Is Lara…?”
“Oh,” the woman’s face looked surprised, but she covered it up quickly with another smile. “Just a moment.” She disappeared quickly through a doorway towards the back of the room and Baekhyun busied himself with looking at the goods behind the glass case as he tried to ease his nerves while he waited.
“Hello stranger,” a familiar voice said, and he straightened to look over the glass case to where Lara now stood.
“Hi,” he said. “Thought I’d grab some breakfast before getting to work.”
“Well, everything is pretty fresh,” she said, slipping her hands into her apron pockets. “What can I get you?”
“What do you recommend?”
“Hmm…” She looked through the back of the glass case. “Well, these are the muffins that I just made,” she said, pointing at a loaded tray. “Or, if you’re wanting something with jam you should try the kolache.” She pointed at another tray that had some red-filled pastries. “And these are really good if you’re wanting something like a cookie.” She pointed at a tray of round, icing-coated desserts.
“Hmm,” Baekyun hummed as he looked over her recommendations. “I guess I’ll take a muffin for now…and a few of each of the others for later.” He met her eyes, slipping his hands into his pockets to match her stance. “Something to snack on.”
“I’ll get right on it,” she said with a wink and grabbed some tongs. “So, back to the field today?” she asked as she wrapped the muffin in a napkin and handed it to him.
“I might take some pictures in town today,” he said. “I think black and white would be nice.”
She nodded as she listened while filling a paper bag with the baked treats.
“Actually,” he said, looking around the bakery. “Would it be alright if I snap some pictures in here?”
“I’ll have to ask the owner,” she said, moving over to the counter. “He’s in the back working on another batch of bread.”
“Okay,” he said, handing over some money. “I’ll just take a seat out here and eat my breakfast.”
“It shouldn’t take long.”
~~~
After gaining permission, Baekhyun went about taking pictures of the treats behind the glass case and the breads packaged and on display in the small bakery. The lighting and decor gave the perfect vintage look he was hoping for and he was completely lost while looking through the lens.
“Would you like some lunch?” Lara asked and Baekhyun glanced up at her from where he was crouching in front of a table.
“It’s a bit early for lunch,” he said and glanced at his watch. His eyes widened in shock at how much time had passed, then he glanced at his stomach in betrayal as it chose that moment to alert him about his need for food. He looked back up at Lara and rubbed the back of his neck with a chuckle which she met with a smirk, but she spared him the embarrassment of laughing at his expense. “I guess I should go, huh?”
“We’re making sandwiches in the back,” she said, pointing her thumb behind her. “We trade our second-day goods for other food and make our lunches and dinners with that. The boss said he’s happy to trade lunch for some of your pictures. We need some better ones for advertisement. Hopefully, we can pull more business in from other towns.”
“That sounds great!” Baekhyun said, finally getting to his feet. “If he even likes any of them.” He paused for a moment as he looked over his camera. “Uh…hmm…I’ll have to come back later with my digital camera though. I’ve been using my analog camera lately, so these pictures will be physical unless they get scanned into a computer. But, they won’t look as nice.”
“Whatever you think is best. He doesn’t seem to be in a hurry, but you can run it by him if you want,” she said with a bright smile. “Come on back and we’ll get you some lunch.”
