Proxi Headcanons:

- In terms of fairies, Proxi is very fast. She's able to cover a lot of distance to relay information in a very short amount of time.

- Proxi was the one who started with the nicknames for Time and Wind. During the war she called Time "Masks" or "Young One" and Wind was "Sailor" or "Sea Boy". When she meets the entire Chain she recognizes that the Wind she knew hasn't existed yet and calls him "Little Sailor". Time she outs as Masks right away.

- As a fairy, she's able to detect traces of magic. And despite Wars having a whistle to call for her that she can hear from wherever (similar to Twilight's horse call), she was at the Chain's exist rift before anyone could start figuring out who's era they're in.

- Proxi knows how old Time is. She won't disclose it unless Time says she can.

- Fairies don't "die". After a couple hundred years they are reborn as a young sprite and the cycle continues. They can remember only the life they had just previously lived, not all of their previous lives.

- Proxi is able to sense traces of Navi's presence on Time even after all these years. As a kid he asked her why Navi would have left, and not even she knew why.

Impa thought they all knew that since Mask's arrival to the war of eras wasn't very subtle about it. She refuses to elaborate when she realizes the others don't know.

Does anyone ever think about My Fairy in Hyrule Warriors? Because I do. I think about pre-battle dress-up and brunch with the girls.

The trope of the small companion who sits on your head

Wind had the spirits in phantom hourglass

Time had Navi and tatl

Twilight was a horse

Warriors had proxi

Sky had Fi on his shoulders while her avatar was levitation next to him

Legend was collecting princesses

Hyrule was his own fairy companion

Four was also his own companion but he also had a hat and a rabies doppelgänger

And Wild was sitting on the light dragon and was literally just her tiny companion

Grounded (LU Climbing AU)

Sky gets an injury that forces him to take a break from climbing. He doesn’t take the news very well. (Wars helps.)

“And I’m afraid you’ll have to stay off the wall for at least three weeks.” 

“Oh,” Sky said, feeling the protest shrivel up and die in his mouth. 

His eyes stung so he stared into the space in front of him, willing them to go away to wherever it was that unshed tears went. He ignored Wars gently bumping their shoulders together, silently asking if he was okay. 

“This includes any sort of training that involves you using your arms,” the doctor added, pointing at the picture on his computer. The ugly letters of Sky’s diagnosis still floated in the search query and he felt like they were taunting him. Ulnar nerve subluxation. His nerves were fucking dislocating. 

“It’s going to be okay,” Wars said, pretending for Sky’s sake that it was a question to the doctor. 

“Chances are extremely low that we’ll have to do surgery, especially since this was brought to our attention early. We’ll only have to treat this more aggressively if it gets permanently stuck outside of the cubital tunnel since that can lead to nerve damage. Which shouldn’t happen if we take steps to prevent this from getting worse.” 

“Okay,” Wars replied, carefully throwing an arm around Sky and standing up. “Is that all?”

The doctor nodded and Wars wasted no time in guiding Sky quickly out the door and straight for the empty spot they’d left in the waiting room. 

“It’s going to be okay,” Wars repeated. 

Sky felt his eyes burn again and apparently Wars felt it too because he gently pulled him into a hug. Sky leaned into it, pressing his face into the captain’s deep blue hoodie. If Wars noticed the tears seeping into the fabric or the way Sky’s breathing stuttered and shook, he didn’t mention it. 

“World Cup prelims are in two months and I can’t train for three weeks. I can’t even hangboard or lift,” Sky whispered. 

He tried not to think about how his hands would be too soft, his muscles would be too weak, and his technique would be too uncoordinated. He’d lose so much strength and stamina and progress over three weeks. 

What was he even going to do with all his free time? He didn’t remember the last time he’d gone more than a week without climbing and that’d been the time he fell so hard he got whiplash and could barely move his neck. 

Wars didn’t answer, unwilling to lie to his face that he’d still be able to compete at a hundred percent in such a short period of time. He held Sky’s hand with his taped fingers and just let him cry into his shoulder in the hospital waiting room. 

Sky remembered being the one to tape them up for him – he would never forget how ridiculously bloody those particular flappers had been. 

“I can’t believe this is my first big injury,” Sky mumbled. “Not a fracture, not a sprain. Nerve damage. Fucking nerve damage. I don’t even get a cool cast that everyone can sign like Wild did.” 

Wars laughed. Then his phone exploded into his obnoxiously off-key ringtone and he laughed harder, Sky joining in with his own quiet giggles. 

“It’s definitely Time,” Wars said, accepting the call before even checking the caller ID. “You wanna tell him?”

Sky hesitated before replying, “Can you do it? Just tell him I’m still showing up to practice. Even if I can’t climb.” 

Wars nodded and rattled off every detail he’d memorized from the doctor’s explanation over the phone. “Yeah. He’s going to be okay.”

Had a thought and yall are my victims:

Chain goes through a portal, ends up in Wars's era. Wars is getting his reunion with Proxi as she's showing everyone around they realize its been way too long of Wars not saying a word.

Eventually they get to talk to Impa and Zel, the three are 'talking' but Wars still doesn't actually say anything, Proxi doing all the talking for him. One of the Links makes a comment to another when Wars steps out for a minute with Zel and Impa's just like "yeah he does that, I've rarely heard him actually talk".

Bonus points of Proxi sits on his shoulder or head if she's not actively showing someone something.

Was doodling in monochrome some of the faeries I'd designed based on Hyrule's fae form and thought it'd be cute to doodle my friend @artemistorm 's skykid as a fae for fun. Obligatory fae doodles because I've lowkey been obsessed with them lately.
