Residents of North Berwick, Maine were left in awe on Wednesday after a large crane was spotted on a nearby beach. The crane, which was nearly 35 feet tall, was seen resting on the beach near the town's main pier.

Local authorities believe the crane was either dropped off by a passing cargo ship, or was washed up from the ocean. They are currently investigating the matter, and have asked anyone with information to come forward.

The crane has been identified as a Liebherr LTM1400, a type of crane typically used for construction purposes. The crane weighs around 160 tons, and is capable of lifting objects that weigh up to 890 tons.

The crane has caused a flurry of excitement among locals, and many have been quick to take pictures and share them online. Some locals even joked that it was a 'gift' from the ocean.

Though the crane is currently located on the beach, officials are planning to move it to a safer location. They are also considering donating it to a local museum, as a reminder of the town's unique history and connection to the sea.
