phone pic of the hot townie librarian whomst i love
I'm playing with no cc rn after the update so I decided to start a new save and see how far into a legacy i could get on short life span. I'm in love with the sims I have but I went to grab some screenshots and see if i felt brave enough to post any, but none of them saved! It can't be because of a mod since I don't have any in. IDK if it's a post update glitch or what. But I'm sad because the baby my sim had with a hot librarian townie is already a child, so everything that happened before is gone smh

WRITESCPADE 4: Redefining things
An acquaintance would see me as someone who is “too girly to play games” and would later on be in awe when they found out that I am actually interested in playing games. To give a glimpse about the gamer within me, some of the games that I play or have played are: Sims, NBA, Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, Sausage Man, Pokemon Unite, GTA, Tetris, Genshin Impact and a lot more that I cannot recall.
I have been exposed to these games back when i was still in elementary and PSP was still a thing. Eventually, my parents bought us Wii consoles and eventually a laptop. There was even a certain phase in my life where I’ll be challenging my friends to play Tetris back when Tetris was still available via Facebook. During this time, I cannot detect any form of violence. Eventually, this phase passed and I lowkey got addicted in playing Sims 3. I remember myself searching for cheatcodes that will boost my money and will help me create the house that I’ve been dreaming of. It actually made me reconsider to take up Architecture or Interior Design in college.
Tumblr media
As I enter my 9th grade in high school, I remember myself playing Clash of Clans together with my classmates. I could still remember the way we helped each other in building our base so that the other clans will find it hard to destroy our town hall. Our fascination with COC eventually fade and some of them started to play Mobile Legends. To be honest, I am not a fan of ML at first. For me, the gameplay looked a lot like the League of Legends and DOTA which is something that I never enjoyed. Well, to my surprise, I liked playing ML after my younger brother introduced it to me and having a set of people that I can play it with contributed to my fascination with this game. Up until now, I am still playing ML together with my friends and I would like to share some of my crazy observations and realizations.
Tumblr media
It is a growing industry. ML used to be a typical game that you can enjoy with your friends not until they introduced “MPL” which is a weekly tournament every Saturday where you’ll be competing against random teams. Aside from that, they now have a tournament wherein selected countries will be given a chance to have a team that will represent their country for the said tournament.
Tumblr media
There’s Diversity. The diversity that I am referring to is somehow good and bad. It is good because you get the chance to meet new people and be friends with them. It is somehow bad because the anonymity that this game is giving you is giving some players the courage to “trashtalk” other people. Anderson (2003) mentioned that you get desentisized by the violence that you are exposed to when you play the game often and I couldn’t agree more. I used to be butthurt when random people would say mean things towards me and now, I no longer care about them. I would mute them and report them afterward.
Tumblr media
Teamwork is there. I could still remember when I first played ML. My friends would teach me how to play and use the heroes. They would even leave some advice with the build that I should be using. We also turn our microphones on so that we can coordinate and protect each other while playing and I feel like that’s one of the best things that you’ll be exposed to when playing ML with your friends. You guys are strengthening your relationship, trust, and coordination while playing. This is what Jenkins (2009) was referring to when he mentioned that there’s some sort of participatory culture when you are playing games.
Tumblr media
Nowadays, these games aren’t just there to serve as our getaway from reality. Some people are now getting income through these games. Kline (2003) mentioned that this phenomenon blurs the line between playing games and work. As someone who plays, I beg to differ. I don’t think that this blurs the line but rather, it redefines the way we should be seeing these games and should be properly referred to as e-sports.

Hi, I know you mentioned this a while ago, but what kind of personalities ot at least differences in personalities do you think the MCs for each route would have? Im just curious. Also I love your art and your headcanons!!
whoops this is something i’ve accidentally put a lot of a thought into
now, when i personally play mysme, i just play as myself. self insert style. having a middle man like an mc was always something i just couldn’t ever get into. visual novels are often wish fulfillment games and i’ve just never understood having something dividing me from embracing the fantasy, yknow?
anyway, so when i decided to do lil comics n whatnot for mysme, i wasn’t comfortable just inserting myself into them for a multitude of reasons, but mainly because, to you, the audience, seeing someone else in place of the mc just isn’t the same experience you get from playing the game.
so when i decided to create the mc i use for my Jumin comics n whatnot, i deliberately made their appearance very vague and generic(brown hair, tanned skin, chubby, etc etc), while also suggesting attributes needed to complete his route(e.g. patient, empathetic, a little over stimulated, etc etc) because that is something (a)reliable for your brain to expect/anticipate and (b) as a stand-in for you to project on, so the mc i write/draw hopefully has less of a chance of shocking you out of the fantasy(i.e. if i made a comic about mc and Jumin, and halfway through i had mc say something like “that reminds me of when half my family died tragically and forced me to fight in a war for my home country” that has i high probability of making you go “WAIT WHAT????” forcing you out of the experience of vicariously experiencing a relationship with Jumin, and realizing that that mc is not you and someone else, which is something i definitely do not want since i make these comics in the first place to make y’all happy, like mysme made me happy :] )
so in order to suspend your disbelief, i have my mc’s be pseudo-characters that are really just glorified ‘insert your picture here’ stamps. and with that said, we can finally get into what makes each of my mc’s different from one another.
Tumblr media
with Zen’s mc, my goal is to really push the whole ‘dream boyfriend’ thing Cheritz had going for him. so in order to Maximize that i’ve really made her appearance particularly bland to heighten the difference between her and Zen’s conventional beauty.
with Yoosung’s mc, she had to be someone who’s strong enough to withstand all the Rika projection Yoosung did in the early stages of their relationship, but also someone who’s patient enough to guide him. also someone who lowkey looks like they could do femdom lol
Tumblr media
with Jaehee’s mc, a tried to toe the line between someone who’s responsible enough to not offput Jaehee(like Seven and Yoosung are known for doing), but also cheery enough to get Jaehee through her route and to realize her own self worth
and, well, i’ve already delved into Jumin’s mc here
Tumblr media
since Seven’s route to considered “canon” by Cheritz, i just went ahead and gave him the generic mc that’s in all the cg’s since that happened to suit his route.
for Saeran/Ray/Unknown’s mc, i had to have her be someone who’s trusting and unsuspicious enough to accidentally join a cult and believe Ray when he told her the RFA app was a mobile dating sim, but also someone who’s been through enough to come out of the experience as unaffected as one can be
Tumblr media
and finally for V’s mc, her whole deal was pointing out both V and Rika’s flawed logic, as well as being compassionate enough to not hate V/Rika for what they did
overall, they have the same-ish appearance similar to mc1, since she’s the one in all the cgs, but with tiny tweaks to distinct them from the others. as for their personalities, i try to focus on giving them insecurities and confidences that align with their route. Jumin’s mc is a trusting person who believes people can better themselves, but also might feel disposable since Jumin maintains a great deal of power in their relationship, and aside from him their’s little keeping her to him. Zen’s mc is someone who is very supportive and wants to help Zen achieve his dreams, but maybe feels like Zen would’ve liked anyone who happened to show up in the RFA chat room one day. stuff like that generally helps me fill in any of the mc’s actual personalities, which hardly exist outside of a biased perspective.
this is probably more than you bargained for, and i doubt much of it made sense, but i hope it did anyway;;;;; tldr theyre all just generic products of their respective routes that i utilize to help y’all project onto them and vicariously experience your bias’ love
