Also it’s not like it wasn’t already abundantly clear but it makes it even more obvious why she cut invisible string as soon as humanly possible from the set list. 😵‍💫

#She couldn’t do anything about a lot of the other specific songs because so much production was wrapped up in them #like lover delicate etc #but this one could be literally anything in the setlist so she was like YEET THIS OFF THE CABIN AND BURY IT DEAD IN THE DITCH #ttpd playlists

The Eras Tour really is just incredible, 10/10, it’s a tour that will go down in history

#I already knew this from the streams but after seeing the eras tour movie it really drove it home for me #it’s just really such an amazing show #the setlist is SO well chosen from one song to another the flow of it everything #visually the show is also stunning there’s so much to see and yet it’s never distracting #and it’s also quite simple at the same time which leads me to my next point #Taylor has the absolute command of that huge stage in such an incredible way #wether she’s accompanied by dancer stage props etc or if it’s just her there #and also the outfits looked soooo incredible even the ones I didn’t love on the streams/gifs/photos (mainly the rep bodysuit and kind of the #lover ones) like they just looked soooo good and the perfect choice #the eras tour #the eras tour movie #taylor swift

i’m absolutely not complaining about ttpd as an album, i love it even more than i thought i would, but i do kind of wish she would’ve waited to release it until after the eras tour was over so it could’ve gotten its own tour :/ like the visuals and the stage design and the outfits are just sooo good and not only is it being cut down into only seven songs so it can fit into an already massive setlist, but everyone who went to the shows in the us, mexico, south america, asia, and australia — aka a huge portion of the tour dates — didn’t get to see any of it live. like it’s so impressive that taylor was able to add the ttpd section into the existing setlist but i can't help but feel disappointed bc this means we likely won't get a ttpd tour, which is something i would kill to see </3

#i know so many people demand new content from her constantly but with everything she’s been doing we didn’t NEED this album so soon yk #i personally would’ve been fine waiting another year or even longer if it meant ttpd could get its own era #bc it’s kind of impossible for it to fully have that when she’s already a year into this huge tour #she’s already had to cut so many songs to fit everything (not even everything bc there’s no debut set)#with lover/folklore/evermore not getting their own tours bc of covid it makes sense why she did the eras tour instead of a midnights tour #but now that touring is an option again it would’ve been nice for her to slow down her releases a bit to really focus on new albums more #idk maybe this is a hot take bc ofc the eras tour is incredible and i do feel so lucky to have gotten to go at all #but i just really wish i could see ttpd songs live and it seems like i won’t get that chance until the next tour #which will likely be years from now and who knows how many albums she’ll have put out by then #rn all i can do is hope that she’ll add another us leg or something so i can see eras again with the new setlist #but that’s very unlikely since she’s already added shows in miami/indy/etc none of which i can afford travel for let alone resale tickets #no one’s gonna even see this but if anyone does i hope it’s not taken the wrong way bc she’s given us so much in the past few years #sorry for the essay i just love ttpd and i want to see it live </3 #lj speaks now

#the eras tour #setlist ranking #my rankings #reputation was just. unbelievably ELECTRIC #red is up there bc of all too well 10 mv because i actually missed 22 and part of ikywt trying to get to the bathroom #but atw was my favorite part of the whole show i thought i would start levitating #fearless was sooooo nostalgic i wanted to live in that golden moment forever #acoustic set was so personal and beautiful and full of feeling #lover was??? i started crying when she came on it was really so transcendent and god-tier #folklore was like the most interactive beautiful film of all time #evermore a bit lowkey but so artistic #midnights was the most impersonal to me but full of artistry (i was also v exhausted by that point)#midnight rain + antihero + mastermind were my faves to see #speak now is everything you'd hope it would be #1989 didn't make as much of an impact on me as the rest but style was fantastic and i was struck by the wildest dreams visuals as well #anyway there's my belated tour recap in the tags #taylor swift #never thought i'd feel this way about a concert but i'm so happy that i do

she really is the bravest soldier bc i don’t know how someone could a. release something so vulnerable and then b. go sing in front of thousands that same evening

#oh this is about #taylor swift #to any non swifties on board #it's such a double edged sword bc at the same time it must feel so great to perform to a crowd of ppl who love you #so in a way its maybe great that this is all getting out there during tour where she has that outlet #but as much as i know once an artist releases a song it becomes kind of more about what ppl associate it with in their lives #instead of directly connected to them and the mindset/intention they wrote it #but it still feels like it has to be hard to separate the 2 on some level right? like esp when a breakup is fresh?#so u get the weird feeling about performing love songs about a dying/dead relationship #although luckily the setlist doesnt have any of the really deep Joe songs other than lover #but i think bc of its fame that one really probably has become more about other ppl than herself #anyways i am rambling to the max #also not to make someone elses breakup into social commentary but there is so much to be said for this general phenomenon #of men stringing women along in long-term serious but ultimately non-committal relationships #like obv situations change so im not saying that he like. intentionally did this from day 1 bc hes evil or something #but ive just seen it happen alot and its sad #im sure it kind of just slowly became that. but it feels like they probably both could have called it quits way sooner #new motto for women (who are interested in marriage) should be: he better lock it down or i won't stick around #and then actually do it

i have a confession to make. i went to taylor swift’s concert last night and enjoyed it.. sorry ❤️

#she’s incapable of choosing good songs whether through what needs to be cut from albums or setlists #the middle of it was so boring #ok i lied about completely enjoying it #also her pre reputation songs had such a much better reception among the audience than anything lover and above #fearless and speak now are her strongest albums and yet she played only a couple of songs from them when something like better than revenge #would have cracked the stadium in half #but it has to do with her falling off artistically even further into the bland generic pop after reputation #ok i know some of you may say she’s always been that way but as i said her earlier albums are much more charming than whatever she’s got #going on now #have more to say about the contrast but i’ll keep it at this
