Gratitude

Before I start venting I want to go over my gratitude list. Two weeks ago my Metropass was stolen but Heavenly Father used that event to bring me blessings. My sisters from the Relief Society came and gave me money and tokens, and purchased groceries for me.

The Elders came to visit me, to comfort and BLESS me, which means so very much to me. I love them for that. What I love best about them is that even when they disagree with me they are loving, being an example of Jesus on the earth.  Knowing how they love me and seek after my best is something I cherish.

However, it’s not smooth sailing. For someone who is LGBTQ+ as well as child-free being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is often a struggle. Many LDS groups on Fakebook have blocked me, threatened me, rape-shamed me, victim-shamed me,  and done other acts of cuber-bullying  against me. Some of these include people named Mark Bettle, Dean West, and Amber Little. yes, I will name names. 

However, when I shared my pain with my teaching missionaries they were quick to comfort me. They told me that God obviously has a different plan for me than to have kids or be a mother to kids of my own. On the other hand, i love those boys like they were my own sons. I love baking for them, listening to them, and I am ferociously protective of them.

Right now, as a queer-identified Mormon, I choose to submit to Church leaders even as I pray to Heavenly Father to give the Presidency the Revelation that LOVE IS NOT A SIN.
