THE GLITCH MOB

I don't usually write follow up tumblr posts on experiences most especially on concert goings. I've gone to only a few concerts (sadly, as I suffer from self-diagnosed social anxiety) but I have to say the concert I went to had blown my expectations raising the standards for attending any future live performances, or any at all. 

Basically, OH MY GOODNESS! :O

I can't stop thinking about The Glitch Mob, and of course my awkward first meetings with each of the trio members. Obscurely & indirectly, I heard of TGM through Tron: The Legacy soundtrack via Daft Punk's remixes namely Derezzed ft. TGM. I enjoyed the original Derezzed song but the remix added a new dimension extending the value of Tron & Daft Punk. My boyfriend loved the song so much he looked up TGM via Pandora stations. (He's seriously too good at picking up great musical talent to enjoy, less mainstream, too.)

Overtime hanging out with him the sound that poured from every TGM song that randomly played (he was obsessed with their sound it seemed) pulled me in making me sound out every rhythm & beat (I need better descriptive musical terms after this) since I looooove to sing (I mean who doesn't?) & imitate sounds. So finally I asked who the hell they were and that's when I had him share the station(s) that featured The Glitch Mob & immediately yet gradually (bc I have a life aka work & life -_-) began to gravitate to their yet indescribable melodic messages.

They were faceless before the concert I attended last Saturday night. Probably why I love Daft Punk since most of my attention is faced to music instead of the physical image of the players. I don't think members of TGM were as purposefully mysterious as DP but I kept it that way in order for me to truly delve and experience their production thoroughly. So perhaps that aided in my current obsession. It is currently difficult for me to accurately describe their music but I felt very in tune with their melodies & rhythms & beats & just SOUNDS altogether. Whatever they used and played it just meshed SO well together having me ask for more and more and more.

My boyfriend wondered if there would ever be any new work from them and luckily we got into them pretty late into TGM's career and a new album DID spring up not too soon after - Love Death Immortality. I haven't listened to a lot of it (again, due to life, I know wtf do I do??) but I was lucky enough to hear most of it LIVE this weekend and OH MY GAH! Their performance was IMPECCABLE. FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC. Luckily I had squirmed in close enough to be near the railings and even get an up close photo now up on their IG & respective twitter accounts.

I also can't describe my experience in the concert (but wasn't that the point of this post? NO rules, bruh!) without reducing any of its original sentiments. I was beyond excited when they stepped off stage to take a photo with the crowd & I was SMACK DAB IN THE FRONT & MIDDLE! Totally shared a sweaty handshake with Ooah, fist bump & (awkward request for) photo with Boreta (check my IG for details @_Neetu), & photo with EdIT. But I gotta say this is the BEST concert I have gone to, and I've gone to see Incubus TWICE, Linkin Park TWICE, Kanye, 30STM, Slaughterhouse, etc. I can't compare them at all though but for concert going experiences (and probably bc this is the most recent) I will definitely be seeing them again on their tour next time. Best part, front row floor for just $40 + related fees. BEST. EVER.
