Cassandra Goth (loveday vers.) (goth family)

Whenever I'm styling Cassandra, I always try to keep in mind that she started out as a Wednesday Addams expy, but admittedly, I have almost zero idea how to style Wednesday Addams (we love the black dress with the white collar, but other than that, I have no idea). I always end up leaning a little more goth-tinted dark academia with her.

In my save, she's a young adult, probably either at the end of her university years or having just graduated. Town fuckboy Don Lothario is chasing her a la the Sims 2 days, but she has a sweet, burgeoning romance with starving artist dad Darren Dreamer.

Dina Caliente (loveday vers.) (parents: flamenco and nighat)

Dina, the icon that you are. She knows what she wants and goes for it, even if it's already taken. In her first incarnation in the Sims 2, she was briefly married to Michael Bachelor - same goes in my save. It's possible, though Dina will never admit it, that she really did love Michael. But even if that is true, any inclination Dina has toward love went down the drain with Michael's untimely demise.

She abandoned a brief fling with Don Lothario once he started sniffing around her aunt Katrina, and now her sights are set on the seemingly-widowed Mortimer Goth in the absence of his missing wife Bella. Who needs love when you could have money instead?

Bella Goth (loveday vers.) (parents and brother: simis, jocasta, & michael)

A bit of a different style of lookbook for the icon and the queen, the inimitable Bella Goth. For my save, I essentially gave her two personalities:

Bella by way of Morticia Addams: a Goth by marriage, proprietress of the Goth properties of Willow Creek, loving but distant and mysterious mother. A slightly less disastrous and haunted version of Carla Gugino's Olivia Crain. Pre-abduction.

And Bella as she reappears in Oasis Springs: with no memory, her personality drawing on her younger years as a Bachelor. A tiny house and a garden. The feeling of something missing, which she fills with green things and soft living spaces.

Katrina Al Mahmoud (loveday vers.) (younger Katrina here!)

In my save, Katrina is Nighat's younger sister, and takes in her sister's kids following her passing. To my mind, Katrina is the Cool Aunt™, the Wine Aunt™, and also, the Aunt That Definitely Ogles the Pool Boy™. Nina and Dina would probably get along with her famously, except she gets a little too involved in their lives (and also, notably, was very eager to take Nighat and Flamenco's money after their untimely deaths).

She's hot, she's carefree, she's maybe just a little trashy (we love that for her). She doesn't want to work (same). She gets involved with known fuckboy Don Lothario maybe a little too deep. But she does love Nina and Dina, and we love her. Icon Status awarded.

Brandi Broke (loveday vers.) (parents: bob and betty newbie)

Brandi has always been a terribly tragic character in the Sims for me - young and widowed with a teenager (terrible age), a toddler (even worse), and a bun in the oven. I always felt that in contrast to that tragedy, Brandi herself felt...a little plain, which is possibly the biggest tragedy.

I wanted to give her some personality. She's tired, she's mourning, but she's tough. She has a good community - Darren Dreamer lives next door, he and his kid are good folks - and her teenage son, Dustin, for all that he's in his terrible teens, loves and appreciates her. He made her beaded necklace; he tries to handle toddler Beau from time to time, to give her time to paint her nails when he notices they're chipped.

Despite everything, she's one of those genuinely cool moms - she's not your friend, but she'll always have your back, and you can always come to her with a problem. I see her as the Neighborhood Mom; Dirk Dreamer probably slinks over to hang out at the Broke house when he doesn't want to deal with his dad.

Some more ancestor Sims for my townie remakes!

These are Simis & Jocasta Bachelor, and their son, Michael Bachelor.

All three have passed away by the time of my save, with Michael leaving Dina Caliente a widow. I wish there was more effect to be had on the surviving Sims by doing it this way (i.e., the memories from TS2 - I feel that the "milestones" in TS4 are not always accurate [I've had entire children not show up as having been born in their parents' milestones lol]) but I still like doing it for my own satisfaction!

Nina Caliente (loveday vers.) (parents: flamenco and nighat)

Oh, Nina. She is something of a mystery to me in context - a mystery wrapped in an enigma who doesn't know quite what she wants (which made her hard for me to dress). Romantic but noncommittal, in fact so noncommittal that she's aspirationally invested in ruining everyone else's love lives on top of her own. Maybe she gets a thrill out of it in the same way her sister gets a thrill out of pursuing rich (and/or married) men!

I consider Nina to be athletic, and to love dancing. Showing off at clubs is her standard Friday night, plus it provides all the opportunity to flirt without any whiff of commitment. She probably goes on blind Cupid’s Corner dates all the time just for kicks.

I don’t know what her single simlish tattoo says but I imagine it’s a very boss bitch brand of reminder to herself.

One of my favorite things to do is to remake EA townies from scratch - and one of my favorite favorite things to do is to do that by starting with their parents, or sometimes even grandparents.

Meet my versions of Nina & Dina Caliente's parents, Flamenco Caliente and Nighat Caliente (née Al Mahmoud) - and my version of Katrina, who in my game is Katrina Al Mahmoud, Nighat's younger sister.

This is them as young adults. Nina & Dina would probably be toddlers or very young children around this time.

These are Bob and Betty Newbie, parents of Brandi Broke, and one of many couples in the Sims where Just Some Guy inexplicably lands an Actual Baddie. What does she see in him? The world may never know.
