ur fic is literally written better than most books ive read and its incredible, the foreshadowing and the details are so impressive to read

AHAHAH there are so many hints and references in the earlier chapters about reader’s identity that don’t really make sense until you know it!! i love adding things in like that because i want my stories to have rereadability?? like i want people to make new connections and interact w the story differently reading it the second time vs the first. i think it’s especially crucial to have things like that with an arc that’s built around a mystery (the true identity of “ursa”) — if you already know who she is, then it could very easily be a boring/frustrating arc to reread without those new things you can pick up on!!

ty lee was talking abt azula!! mostly because azula would be upset to hear that her ally was working w zuko…although ty lee doesn’t know who mc is, she’s not stupid and probably picked up on the fact that zuko’s hiding smth. she then (rightfully) assumed that if they were caught by azula they’d all be in trouble. it was meant to be misleading as it seems at first it would be zuko who’d be upset to know that ty lee is blocking reader’s chi, esp because ty lee is generally aligned with azula, so when it’s revealed that zuko is the one who ordered the memory blocking, it adds another layer of complication (which will be expanded upon once zuko and reader have their not-so-happy reunion)

but OMG thank you so much!! it means sm to me that you think so <3 i never thought that this would end up being such an involved fic (i originally estimated it to end up at about 60-70k words max) but it’s been so much fun to write and i really appreciate seeing how many people love it!!

so! i've never mentioned this to anyone before, but kitty is a bit of a riff off of one of my oldest OCs. when i was about 18, i was big into katekyo hitman reborn, mostly because i was even bigger into organized crime as a general topic. catalena foggia was the youngest of four, and after a rival family took out her parents and all three of her older brothers (you know, the sort of backstory you give people as a teenager) she very grimly stepped up to the throne.

now whenever i need a female character with a "hello, i Run This Place" air about her, my mind goes to catalena, who of course was called cat by all her friends.

and i knew that i wanted a character like that as klavier's manager. generally, whenever i get to make OCs for my aa fics, i try to make most of them women if they aren't already implied to be men by canon like the rest of the gavinners, since aa refuses to have adult female characters that don't die. the gavinners started out as a bunch of teenage guys, the music industry is tough as nails, LA is horrible..... nobody but cat could've done it, man.

the whole dutch connection sort of happened on the fly. i knew i didn't want to call her catalena foggia, even if nobody but, like, the two irl friends i still have who knew me at 18 lol, knew of that oc. it was still important to me to differentiate, because this wasn't cat, this was a new oc who was very similar to and inspired by her. i remembered that kitty is a valid first name, so i went for that, because i like to think i'm funny. :^)

once you reach the end of exorcism, you'll find a little gdoc with bonus content i left in the end notes there, which among other things contains explanations for all the pun names i've used in the fic. including kitty's, but i'll reiterate here: the reason i stuck with a cat theme was that klavier gavin, in my mind, is absolutely a golden retriever, so i wanted to give him a manager/babysitter who is a cat. a big cat. kitty is short in stature, but i mention her lion's mane of hair often enough in the text, so, u know.

that's also part of what i wanted her to be. yeah, she had to be tough simply for the industry and for the fact that she was managing teenagers for a while, but i also knew that i wanted to give klavier friends, and people in his life who really care about him, and will stick with him through all this. kitty is lawfully loyal: if she doesn't agree with something, she has no trouble walking out, but once she actually takes to someone like she took to klavier, she will be fiercely protective. i never mentioned her age, but i imagined her in exorcism to be somewhere in her mid to late 40s. she's seasoned, she's experienced, she's capable - she's what klavier deserves!!! that's what i wanted. kristoph and daryan are so painfully incompetent, when it comes down to it. klavier needs people in his life who know what they're doing.

so, i wanted a big little lion lady for my dog boy. i sort of just clicked through my various dictionaries for a while looking up different cat terms in different languages to see if any of them sounded enough like a last name, and that's how i landed on poes. only after that did i decide to make the dutch conundrum A Thing.

grandma smith is a gem as always and i find her and kevins relationship so hilarious and cute

the mix of povs was so cool i loved it, the way it flowed & the suspense!!!! so good omg. esp when it finally jumped to ff at the end LMAO GETTING THE REAL INFO!!!!!!!! damn smithy did so well especially him thinking he was talking to the police!!!! like sm could have gone wrong & his thoughts at the end PLS SO FUNNY!! no smithy ur not racist <3 but omg pls hes so cute i love him so so much

I keep thinking that when I get around to properly writing this in not draft form (looking at you earlier chapters) I'm going to write some scenes from other character's POV (Grandma's whole 48 hours with the monsters from her POV and FF's POV as he talks to the nice FBI agent Iruma Matsumoto). Writing from Neil's POV inbetween helped me a lot in keeping this chapter from being too heavy. (Also snuck in a bit of the Neil & FF friendship)

Ichirou's POV and like turning the shit that FF WOULD SAY into stuff that Ichirou could misinterpret took me sooo long it's why the chapter came out so much later than I wanted it to (that and I spent most of my weekend building that link tree for the AUs)

Lol I just said this in a conversation I was having on here but YOU READ THAT ONE POST ABOUT NEIL'S GLOW-UP FROM THE BEGINNING OF HIS FRESHMAN YEAR AND YOU NEVER RECOVER. He's still too skinny!

Aaron is one of my favorite characters who does not get used enough IMO. Like he's fucking funny! Yeah he's kind of an asshole Neil's freshman year but like he's a STUDENT ATHLETE in PRE-MED dealing with THE MAFIA. Also I really love writing the Monsters as just like...normal guys. Like it's not all overwrought conversations sometimes it's "No Kevin, putting vanilla protein powder in chicken stock is not 'Like Chicken and Waffles' it's a CRIME."

I do feel bad about how GS is just constantly like dogging him but in a voice that makes him preen but like to be fair.... vanilla protein powder into her sweet grandson's soup.

FF is always worried about the most important things when faced with a situation. Like 'At least it's a beautiful day I can cloud watch as Captain Neil and Andrew murder me.' , 'I hope there's a bathroom in this torture chamber' , 'Oh gross he didn't wash his hands before he left the bathroom to go murder Captain Neil', and 'Oh no I WAS racist and RUDE. Why the fuck didn't I ask for his name BEFORE I had that conversation. GS raised you better!'

the name reveal was SO stressful to write just bc I wanted to make sure it came across exactly how I wanted it to. but I'm very happy with how it turned out :) it's such a high-strung emotional scene and I had to balance so much with the dialogue but it was worth it in the end

yup! as soon as wilbur finally accepts that he doesn't want to be the pythia, he has to get thrown back into it. in a way it's only fitting. he wanted to go back for so long, but he can only go back once he's hit a new kind of self-actualization. now he might be going back into a very bad situation for him, but he's progressed so much he's better equipped to deal with it than he would've been had he gone back earlier. at least that's what you gotta hope.

Hi, since you like Jerome K Jerome, I was wondering if you've read "Two and a half men in a boat" by Nigel Williams? He basically recreated the boat trip on Thames with his friends like in Jerome's book. Nowhere near as good as the original, but it's pretty funny! He emulates Jerome's wit quite well.

I noticed something about the Beltane chapter: "hippocampus" is a part of our brain's limbic system and one of its functions is memory formation, specifically creation  and consolidation thereof, so I thought it was very symbolic that Hermione and Draco were racing creatures  with the same name. Cause I feel like that chapter is a turning point in their relationship - Hermione stops seeing him as a barely tolerable pureblood ass. It's around that point that they really do start kind of liking each other  and start - if you will - forming new memories together! I know I'm just overthinking things, but I love dmatmoobil so much I'm constantly on the lookout for hidden meanings and symbolism.

There are a lot of easter eggs in the fic, but with this one, you have given me far too much credit. Thank you for sharing it!

i don’t even know what to say after that chapter!!!! first off i started rereading from chapter 1 on the 6th and i didn’t finish until this morning (the 9th) 😭 girl you’ve written so much i’m just/// HOW? ALSO i had just finished rereading ch8 when you posted the new chapter and i had a genuine debate with myself about continuing in order or going right to 14 and i was alllmost good but i had just waited a month you know???? a girl’s gotta eat.

i honestly knocked right out after reading it, as much as i love mess i was NOT ready to process it and just went straight back to reading in the correct order the next morning. and now i’m here and i’ve read it a second time and Fuck.

my first semi-coherent thought is yoongi with his dark long hair in just sweatpants and a chain necklace is absolutely sinful i almost can’t breathe picturing it 😮‍💨 also he was Not on his best behavior this chapter lmaooo i love how confident and hot he is like MC is his girl but right in front of poor tae!!!!?! and then seokjin in the first half of the chapter (before my poor lovebug disappeared 🥺) was 🔥🔥. we’ve seen little sneak peaks of this side of him before but omg when he called her pretty girl i was like yes! jin i’m your pretty girl 💀

also much more tame but i love LOVE the mystery van duo they’re just so cute in there and i giggle at the jokes made at their expense. and i’m so excited to see joon and ggukie spend more time with mc (mayyyybe in dangerous situations where they mayyyybe feel protective of her idk idk) also this line: “Namjoon froze, before his expression dissolved into pure excitement, something Y/N hardly ever saw on his face unless there was some kind of pastry in front of him.” i snorted let the poor boy live?? joon was really just an overgrown puppy that scene.

and then my gentle cowboy (sorry jimin)!!!!! i’ve missed him so much. i loved the time him and mc spent with the horses and i’m reallyyy curious to know how he feels about mc and yoongi being together. like he was distancing himself bc he had a feeling but why? bc it made him uncomfortable? was it really just bc he was sad mc didn’t trust him? i know you can’t really answer but like i’m shaking my little coin can at you and asking humbly.

then there’s foxy who’s good at pretending like nothing bothers him but he definitely Seemed bothered when he first found out even if he covered it up and is going about like nothing’s different. which brings me to my baby bear!!!! 😭😭😭 oh taehyung :( what a way to end the chapter, if didn’t live for drama i’d be blocking you and throwing my phone 😅 i just need it to be march already, like thank god this is the shortest month lol —🪶

I love the interactions between JK and Joon sm, too, they tick each other off but I think they're comfortable with one another. OO you BET they'll find themselves in dangerous situations, and between JK and wolf Joon, they'll fight tooth and nail to keep Y/N safe (hot). Joon loves his sweets, in Trouvaille and in IRL!!!

Jimin 🥺 He finally got a good scene this past update, I've missed him too! I said in a previous ask that when springtime rolls around, there will definitely be more scenes with him outside. They have to plant their little garden, and go for rides around the property! As for him with Yoongi/Y/N, I think Jimin was a little disappointed that he wasn't confided in, and perhaps thought that Y/N did deem him as trustworthy with that information :(

Oh yeah, Hoseok was definitely clocked! He's used to being so quick and clever, so I think him not being able to figure out that they were sneaking around made him feel weird. That said, Hoseok is quick to recover and roll with the punches. I think his friendship with Y/N is too important to him to risk being outwardly upset.... which leads me to Tae. I just want to let you know how AMAZING your writing is?  Like, what I would give to experience reading this not for the first time, but the SECOND time. It’s the kind of fic that I could reread over and over and still find out new details that I never picked up on before, it’s incredible! Your writing style is so descriptive, and the plot is so well thought out, it’s so JDASDAKASDA

Like, just for an example, I rediscovered the "His/Their being, his/their memories, his/their thoughts, emotions, and body in his very palm." parallel the other day and I literally FREAKED OUT. Same with the shovel metaphor, lmfao. (and definitely MANY others) It actually pisses me off that this isn't on a shelf in a store or something, the details, emotions, dialogue are IMMACULATE.

Speaking of dialogue, the way that you write Spamton's and Jevil's dialogue is literally the best I've seen ANYWHERE. I see a lot of people treat Spamton’s talking quirk as almost like a convenience to remind you that he is Spamton, if that makes sense, but yours feels the most natural. And Jevil, MY GOD. He is so whimsy and mystical and strange and I love him. How you can consistently string together the rhymes and other eccentricities while keeping it so in character is beyond me. 

Your whole fic is an experience on its own. I’ve been hyper fixated on it for months now LOL. Anyway, I hope life stops being rough to you, and I can't wait for the next chapter! surveyithan my beloved. Rooting for you <3

i love parallels and symbolism and double meanings more than anything else (comparing things!! finding patterns!! finding the similarities in differences!!! finding the differences in similarity!! patterns=my beloved) and seeing readers picking up on them makes my day (as well as shelf in a store like that's the highest compliment ever omg)

their dialogue has been my favorite to write as it gives me the excuse to verbally read back jevil's lil rhymes when i'm editing and god his manner of speaking is so fun with the rhymes and repetition like i love this clown. but also spamton's is so entertaining just coming up with ads :D he can say the silliest things bc he's just the silliest lil guy and gosh i'm so so so so happy to see it's appreciated!!

I’ve been here for so long, always asked you questions in anon mode, I was here even before FWWL became a thing, I watched it born and grow and waited every time for the new chapter and loved it just like I loved IABY since a started reading it while you were writing for season 4 ( or 5 I don’t remember) and I can’t imagine the effort that you put in every story that you do, I mean you rewrote 100 episodes of teen wolf and you came out with masterpieces every time Jeff Devil fucked us over you gave us hope and I love you so much for it and for everything you are going to write and I love you for giving us Stummer they are so beautiful and perfect and I’m not into the originals so I haven’t read that story yet but I’m sure that you are gonna be amazing like always. Word vomit of lengthy thoughts on the new chapter:

Natsu training Sasuke!! I’m curious to see how their relationship will develop, now that Sasuke’s perspective of Natsu has changed from ‘reliable brother figure’ to ‘reliable brother figure + teacher + goal + caretaker’ of sorts. Knowing Sasuke’s character in the anime, this probably marks the start of an intense rivalry that’s likely one-sided on his part for a long time..

I’m also curious how Natsu’s ‘mentor’ relationship with Sasuke will affect the canon rivalry between Sasuke and Naruto. Perhaps this will also affect Natsu’s relationship with Naruto somehow? With Naruto maybe wondering why his beloved bro is teaching both his friends but not him

It’s sad to see Natsu finding it hard to face Sasuke, being reminded of all the angst with Shisui and Itachi. They’re all so precious 😭

Also… the bamboo chain necklace!!

Hinata standing up for her friends (and herself)! I love their little trio, but seeing them interact with Natsu on the side also drives home the fact that Shisui and Itachi are gone… also the line abt Natsu still being reluctant to return to any empty apartment… 😭😭 Eagerly awaiting Natsu interacting with more of Konoha 12! And having ppl to talk to! And eventually have a heart-to-heart with!

Natsu avoiding using Shisui’s tanto bc he doesn’t feel worthy of it yet, him telling Shisui not to linger bc he’s afraid Shisui will see what type of person he becomes.. or what Konoha makes of him.. my heartt ❤️‍🩹

More Itachi/Natsume parallels… really driving in the angst rip

Ino and her cute crush on Natsu!! “None of to ur business!” and running away, aww. The start of ppl crushing on Natsu and him being entirely oblivious, it seems. I’m curious as to whether Ino’s initial shock at seeing Natsu is bc of his striking appearance / she knows he’s the ‘demon child’ of Konoha / maybe she’s seen him around since Natsu’s been picking up Naruto?

Natsu teaching Hinata fuuinjutsu and Hinata teaching him how to act like an heir… curious to see how this goes and them surprising ppl with it!!

Also, some random things I’m wondering regarding Natsu, Naruto and Sasuke living together:

Who does most of the cooking? I imagine Natsu taking the lead and making sure Naruto and Sasuke learn how to as well

Do they all sleep in the same bedroom and share 1 or 2 beds?

Naruto and Sasuke fighting over dinner and who gets which blanket… adorable kiddos

Happy to hear you enjoyed it, and good luck on your exams!!! (I do not miss that time period, lol) It’s super nice to hear all your thoughts, and I’m glad you shared! I honestly get so excited to see that people like my writing enough to really thinking about it. As for your questions:

1) Natsume does, in fact, handle most of the cooking. Naruto is actually learning rather well (with Natsume’s influence) but he can’t be trusted to cook things on a stove because he gets distracted too easily. Sasuke can make cereal. In the end, Natsume tries to cook huge portions to keep leftovers for as many days as possible because he can’t actually cook every night. Otherwise they end up getting takeout maybe a little too frequently…

2) There is still only one bedroom for now! It’s not going to last long with three growing boys, tbh… Naruto and Natsume have resumed sharing a bed, giving Sasuke the other one. Sometimes if Natsume feels too crowded, he’ll just sleep on the couch instead. Seems like a problem that needs to be solved soon… :)
