used to know a kid who I sat beside in the schools church, sometimes I’d zone out and then I’d turn to him and whisper ‘what are they saying?’ he’d smile and tell me everything the teacher was speaking about

he used to peel my oranges for me, sat with me in the med-bay all the time, let me sleep on his shoulder or lap during recess, got in trouble alongside me so I wouldn’t be lonely in detention

even when I told him I was trans he just smiled and said I was invited to boys night. Which I’ll have you know, was just me and him going to the skatepark or staying at eachothers houses and just talking and talking

I took a 6yo boy to his placement and as soon as I got him situated in the back he saw my SpongeBob driver’s license air freshener hanging on my rearview mirror. He asked if that’s really SpongeBob’s driver’s license and I said yeah it’s real. Then he asked where I got it if SpongeBob’s underwater so I told him I wore a helmet like Sandy and stole it from SpongeBob when he slept, and without missing a beat he goes “That’s identity fraud”

#kids are probably the funnest people on the planet #I love working with them #we spent the rest of the ride singing the SpongeBob theme song #and he did an almost perfect impersonation of the French guy #whenever I’d say we’re almost there he’d go ‘2 years later’#he was a whole hoot and a half
