Yes, my envisioning being she and her equally lanky brother are dead ringers in each other’s clothing -a helpful thing in the stalag when an extra pair is always preferred. Just a familial trait, Eugene is probably out stateside there with noodle limbs too. Don’t underestimate how fucking wiry they are, tho.

So for Ida I would say at least a solid 5’9 in sock feet.

I’d put Maureen and Tallulah around 5’5 ish, pretty average, not petite but not considered quite tall.

And as for the guys I’d be winging it as much as their actors’ IMDB pages, lol. The main set appear to be a fairly tall bunch with Bucky being the towering tree of them all, but it’s interesting how various bone structures and proportions change the general height appearance of a man, ya know?

I'm not sure of the exact time but I'd say 2001-2002? I know for sure I was writing in my first year of college but I don't know if I started earlier than that. I do know it would have been a Good Charlotte fic, probably Benji/Billy, but I have no recollection of the actual fic. It was probably very angsty 😆

(working on is a stretch, and I've shared all the non-spoilery bits of the one I've most recently worked on and want to get back to next, but sure, here's something I've definitely already shared from the tumblr poll build-a-fic)

Much like David and Patrick, she had moved from town to town, never staying in one area long for fear of discovery. She had been here in Schitt’s Creek for about six months now, rolling into town at just the right time to get a job here at the motel working for Maureen, who took such an instant liking to Stevie she had left the motel to her in her will, a discovery Stevie was shocked to make when Maureen passed only a few weeks prior. “So now I’m trying to figure out how to run a roadside motel in the middle of nowhere when I had planned to skip town in a few months,” she finished her story with a huff, looking expectantly at David for his explanation. “Okay, but I think I need a drink or several before I get into this,” he said, exhausted from the emotions of the day and listening to Stevie’s story. Stevie grinned and produced a joint from her pocket. “How’s this instead? Found it under the bed in room two.”

* Oh no, Otis, you're proving my point yet again about you and Maeve not being a good romantic fit... Don't be jealous already.

* Maureen has become her own person and I am here for it; supporting her son, being such a positive influence for him, taking self-defense classes. This deserves a:

* I love the idea of Adam working at a farm as he's so great with dogs, animals.

* Aimee is just too adorable. Definitely one of my fav characters on this show. Good for her for being honest with Isaac about her blunt tendencies and wanting to start fresh.

* Rubes being cunning... Very interesting.

* Still curious about her previous connection to O in elementary.

* Don't these kids have, you know, actual classes at this school? O is being a fulltime therapist apparently, others do so much yoga and fitness. I know it's a "student-led" campus, but still.

So my (according to Tik Tok) scream hot takes. Unfortunately besides Tik Tok idk where the scream community is 😭 Under the read more and tagging @staghunters cause like over a month ago you said yes to hear them.

Spoilers for 6 but I’ll also tell you where those spoilers are. Spoilers for all the other movies to (unwarned)

I personally think the first one is the best Scream movie but i don’t give af if others are liked more

Scream 2 and 5 are over hated and calling Scream 3 “basically scary movie” is ridiculous

Mrs Loomis does have an understable motive and people not being able to understand she could’ve both loved her son and left him after she found out her husband was cheating don’t understand nuance.

Maureen Prescott is not the “real villain” and saying none of the movies wouldn’t have happened if she just “didn’t cheat” completely ignores how she was abused by Hollywood/Roman would still very much exist and would find a way to kill her/get his revenge. She is the ghost of the narrative and also has a lot of nuance to her.

Melissa Barrera was also over hated for her acting in Scream 5 and I think she did phenomenal. It really reminded me of how Sidney felt in the first movie when she was being attacked/gone after (Minus, of course, that Sam has hallucinations of her father)

(Kinda spoilers for Scream 6- justa. Nickname is used) The Core Four (Mindy, Chad, Sam, and Tara) are reflections of the OG 4 characters (Randy, Dewey, Sideny, Gale) but are not meant to be one on one just parallels. That’s why there can be similar arcs and characteristics while remaining there own characters.

None of the Ghostfaces are my “favs” and while I do like them as characters in general the victims or survivors are my favorites.

No actor should get hate for the character they play. None.

Gale and Sidney are both bad bitches and they do not need to be put against each other.

Fan creations are fine (and awesome) but genuinely Sam as Ghostface would ruin her arc of the last two movies. Even if Tara died

I believe in Lesbian Sidney Prescott rights (Mark and her are in a lavender marriage/or QPR with kids) 💕 But I also think she’s cute with Randy. (Something about theater nerd x film nerd along with ‘she could never love me’ and ‘if he literally asked but he never does’). Tatum/Sidney and Sidney/Gale are both top tier ships.

(Scream 6 spoilers) People saying Gale’s BF was unnecessary as well as “she didn’t actually love him because she didn’t react that sad to his death” are ignoring that she was in an extremely stressful situation AND ignores that her “moving on without actually moving on” is extremely on point with her character. (I have hcs about these two’s relationship but that’s another post)

Old fans don’t be mean to new fans. New fans don’t be mean to old fans. I’m a new fan who likes the OGs. New fans who like the new movies are valid. Old fans who like the new movies are valid. Please stop being mean to each other. Do recognize that the OG movie(s) *are* the ones that started it. Calling any of them outdated is ridiculous.

(Spoilers for 6) I think Dewey’s death is sadder then Anika’s. I do think that with the short amount of time we knew her, tho, she’s probably one of the saddest deaths for a character that just was in one movie/had little screen time.

Stu is not alive BUT hearing (some serious and others ridiculous) theories are very fun. Also playing with the concept is <33

Gale Haters 😶😶 Like yes she was “a bitch” in the first movie but she’s one of the best developed characters (besides Sidney and Dewey-) , she continuously is iconic (both in fights, dialogue, etc). This is not to say- cause I feel I have to say this- you must like her but especially for those who love Dewey but hate her for “using him” ignoring her development of feelings and how much she bonds with him just because in the VERY beginning she wanted to butter him up for more info is a weird grudge to continuously hold.

Dwight “Dewey” Riley can both be a very silly funny character but I feel the fact he most DEFINITELY suffers heavily from PTSD and depression and it’s put to the wayside by fans is disappointing(excluding my beloved on ao3 who give me the best Dewey/Gale fics that have such an amazing grasp on both of them— that’s besides the point). The fact in five that he left Gale in the city, was forced to retire from the only career he’s ever known, And lives on the outskirts of Westburro (the only home and town he loves) speaks volumes on how he was isolating himself. He’s disabled physically and has mental illness All while he was being a hero into the very end (though internally believed himself to be a coward) just shows what a TRAGIC character he is. Even in the second movie when Sidney calls him their (as in Randy and her) “surrogate Big Brother” hurts me beyond belief because with the death of his Sister he really started to go even further into the “protector” and “big brother” role. It’s really a shame that most scenes speaking on Tatum post her death were cut/deleted scenes.

Neve Campbell deserves her credit and it’s a damn damn shame they were not going to pay her what she’s worth. As sad as I am I don’t think Sidney as a character will be seen in the next movie.

(Scream 6 spoilers), Scream 5 And 6 have done a great job with parallels to 1 and 2 (the “love interest” betrayal to the revenge plot) and I think their continue to be a parallel from 3 to 7. My guess is that it will be oriented around family perhaps we’ll have Martha involved, maybe Mark (Sidney’s Husband), finally a revel of Tara and Sam’s Mom. With ofc a twist at the end (like Roman)

Saying “No new characters for the next scream movie” is like saying “don’t make another movie!” Since legit EVERY movie showcased new characters And if not for new characters it’d be boring/redundant.

I def have more thoughts but these are my thoughts for now 💕

So - I didn’t like the way I’d written their first meeting, so it’s deleted! But, in this excerpt, they’ve only just met around 1/2 hour prior. 

As I said, she’s mellowed by him & it shows even early on. A lot of my writing revolves around characters’ walls & hard edges slowly melting away. 

“‘m sorry faw the wet, Maureen. Let me know whe’ I should go, keep yaw stuff dry,” he drawls, sticking to his spot by the door as she clatters around in her home, seemingly unfazed by the water she herself is dripping.

“Don’ worry about it, just sink into one o’ the seats, I don’ care.. Wha’s you’ name again? I don’ recall exactly,” 

He moves back a little and leans against the wooden door. He waits for her to return to the room before speaking. 

“Lyam Benoit, ma’am,” he drawls as his eyes follow the thick puffs of pungent smoke that continually pour out of not only her throat, but seemingly her entire being. 

She giggles but it’s a harsh, croaky sound, her face scrunching up as her palms reach up to engulf his face in affection. He doesn’t seem to mind, just smiles down at her in admiration of her open touchiness, 

“I’ll go find somethin’ fo’ ya t’ wea’, Benoit,”

Maureen moves away, disappearing into the darkness of her narrow hallway, the vague sound of her palm slapping the button on the radio crawling through the shadows before music drifts through the smoke in the flat. “Darlin’” by The Beach Boys crackles through the shadows.

Very inspired by that ship, haha!

I gotta tell you, I’m really needing some time away from Tumblr and the internet. It’s eating away at me and my time. I really, really need to get offline more - for my health. Need to take a long break, not only from Tumblr but from fandom and from pop culture.

As for Nightvale, it's one of those things that borders horror and comedy really well in my opinion? We were talking about TMA so I'll compare to that, but I think, objectively some of the things in both shows are equally scary but the way that Nightvale portrays it as normal or like it's no big deal makes it not feel spooky haha. Definitely not as gore-y as TMA though

I got really into nightvale back in like 2013 when it started and honestly what drew me in immediately was that first episode they're like: bam here's this weird town and also your protagonist is gay and we're not going to be quiet about it

My favorite characters are Cecil and Carlos (and they are THE otp of all time) and Dana and Maureen!

Cecil is just honestly a very interesting narrator and I love his little asides from his serious news voice to suddenly talking about cats or Carlos or his niece, and I love Carlos and how he just gradually adjusts to Nightvale and the weirdness in it and that.

I'll admit it's been a while since I listened to it regularly (mostly because Cecil's voice is calming and it makes me sleepy ahaha) but I've been gradually relistening

As the show goes on they start adding characters who appear not just in mentions but with voice actors as well and I love that and how you see the change in character's relationships overtime.

It's very kind of surreal?? Bizarre??? Weird??? And I love that!!!

It's also nice because the episodes are like 30 minutes long and you don't necessarily have to listen in order between arcs (though some things are mentioned and it helps to have a bit of context) and its just 2 episodes a month so it's not as intimidating as something to catch up on

so this has been one hell of a year! allow me to get a little introspective for a second. this time last year i was at a psychiatric hospital and I wasn’t doing very well. it had been a tough year. I still struggled a lot this year, especially in the first half. because a lot changed when i started watching a little show called the witcher in july. through this show i got to meet so many wonderful people who made my life so much better and nicer and funnier.

Hi darling! Of course, I love your idea so much! I hope you enjoy the headcanons 💕 (I apologize for how long it is, I got too involved in this timeline 😌)

Pairing: Dewey Riley x Reader (Female)

Warnings: Swearing, MINOR SPOILERS for the first Scream (nothing major, just the relationship between the characters), AU (in this timeline Maureen’s alive and the there are no killings - If Anon would like for me to change that I will 😊)

Genre: FLUFF, Romance, Humor

- You and Dewey have known each other for as long as you can remember

- Your mothers were friends in high school therefore you were automatically best friends before you were even born

- Little did the two women know you two would become a lot more than just that

- Dewey was the shy, quite kid while you were the troublemaker, always dragging him into your shenanigans as well

- You were, however, forced into seriousness when two new babies entered the equation, your younger sisters

- Being Sidney’s older sister led to you becoming more responsible, doing well in school and becoming the best babysitter your parents could ever ask for, all at the age of just eight years old

- Dewey was in the same boat with you

- Tatum was born soon after Sidney and he too had to strut his stuff and put on his big-brother pants, swearing to always watch out for his sister and always have her back

- You two frequently had to babysit the little girls due to how busy your parents were so that meant the four of you would gather at one of your houses and watch cartoons, play with the toddlers’ toys, draw and paint etc.

- The difficult part was feeding them and putting them to sleep but it was a war you and Dewey won every time

- It was when you two entered high school that you were finally coming to terms with the feelings that were probably sparked up back in seventh grade but you two just didn’t notice 

- How could you have noticed in between all the running around and keeping two four-year-olds safe 

- When you went off to college, that’s when the other shoe dropped and it was unbearable for you both

- He’d see you date guys and immediately do his best to distance himself, ignorant to the fact that you were doing it in an attempt to get him out of your head and hopefully fall for someone else

- On one of your trips back home you spilled the beans to Sid who, oddly enough, already knew

- “Sis, I’ll admit, I thought you were brighter than this.” The at the time twelve year old girl said, making you roll your eyes, “I mean seriously, everyone knew before you and Dewey realized it.”

- Your eyebrows furrowed, “Wait, what do you mean me and Dewey?”

- That’s when Sid knew she fucked up

- With that slip she threw herself and Tatum into some hot water 

- You were definitely not supposed to know that Dewey opened up to his younger sister about his feelings much like you did, but Tate had gone straight to Sidney to drop the 411 to her best friend

- It’s safe to say Neil and Maureen were quite concerned to see their oldest chasing their youngest around the house with a toy sword

- “Sid, you’re so fucking dead!”

- “Y/N, language!” Your mom had shouted, but all your dad could do was laugh

- “The language is what you’re worried about? Not the murderous tendencies?” He asked, earning him a smack to the shoulder from his wife

- As pissed off as you were at both Sidney and Tatum in that moment - and you were seeing red, that’s how pissed off we’re talking here - you certainly had more confidence about your feelings when you returned to college after your break was over

- You broke things off with the deadbeat boyfriend you had at the time and, obviously, the first person you told was Dewey

- “You seemed head over heels for the guy, what happened?” He asked you as you were chilling in your dorm, your roommate out with her boyfriend for the night

- “Did I really? I’m a great actress then, aren’t I?” You chuckled, blushing furiously but you luckily had your back turned to Dewey as you said that so he didn’t initially see it

- “What’s that supposed to mean? You weren’t into him?” You hummed negatively, “Why’s that?”

- You continued unpacking your stuff, “Cause I’m into someone else. Have been for a while now.” You said, mocking his terminology.

- The man’s heart was shattered once again, “Do I know them?” He asked and and you gave him an affirmative hum, “Why didn’t you say anything? I would’ve helped you out.”

- “You can’t help me, Dewey.“ You chuckled almost bitterly

- “Why would you think that?” He sounded genuinely hurt which made you quite mad cause he had no idea how hurt you’ve been all this time by his ignorance, but then again, you were hurting him with yours too

- This time you whirl around to face him and find him standing in the middle of your bedroom whereas he was previously leaning against the doorframe

- “Because you’re so fucking oblivious, Dwight!” You complained, tears pooling in your eyes much to your dismay

- A moment of silence fell in the room, leaving you to regret all you just said and make an attempt at circling around him to leave the room and the dorm

- And the campus and the city, you just wanted to run away from everything

- But that’s when he grabbed your arm and prevented you from making even a step further 

- The man had decided to be brave finally after all this time

- That’s why, before you knew it, his lips were on yours

- He took a risk that made his whole body freeze up and it’s only after you reciprocated the kiss - which didn’t take you long to do - that he finally relaxed

- HIs free hand came up to cup your cheek while the other loosened its hold on your arm but still had a grip on you as if he was afraid you could take off running any moment

- That never happened though, and you confirmed that it won’t happen by interlocking your hands around his neck, bringing you both closer which seemed practically impossible at that point

- Eventually the lack of oxygen caught up to you and forced you to pull away, leaning your foreheads against one another

- “I’m not as oblivious as you think, Prescott.” You chuckled at his words

- “Shut up, Riley.” You didn’t leave it up to him whether he’d shut up or not, you made sure he did by pressing your lips against his 

- You both were happy, no doubt about it, but no happiness can compare to the one your relationship announcement was met with by your sisters

- When I say they were jumping for joy and squealing your eardrums out, I mean it

- After graduation you two returned to Woodsboro and were soon employed in the police department

- Yes, both of you (Think Brooklyn Nine-Nine type shenanigans)

- And that’s when your sisters started dating their first boyfriends and you know what that means....

- You and Dewey got decked out in your uniforms and went to town on the two hooligans

- “If you hurt Tatum”

- “If you hurt Sidney”

- “They’ll never find your body”

- “They’ll be scooping your brains off the floor”

- “Understood?”

- “Got it?”

- “Yes, sir!” Stu was practically in tears by the time Dewey was done with his ‘vaguely’ threatening but mostly warning speech

- “Yes, ma’am!” Billy took it better, nodding in understanding you had a feeling was genuine despite your initial distaste for the kid, he didn’t seem all that bad

- They obviously ratted you out to their girlfriends who both gave you shit about scaring the crap out of their boyfriends, but you knew they secretly appreciated it

- If only you knew that those very boys you scared so badly would be a part of the crowd to witness one of the most important moments of your life...

- Your sister and Tatum were at Tatum’s boyfriend’s house for a party one night and you had just gotten home from work, perfectly on time to lay the ground rules

- “No drinking, no drugs, no funny business with Loomis. Got it?”

- “Jeez, Y/N, it wouldn’t hurt to leave your cop attitude at the door when you get home.” She teased but still confirmed that she’d follow the rules, kissed your cheek and was out the door

- An hour or so later, you get a call from Dewey who was still on duty at this time 

- “Can I get assistance at Stu Macher’s house? I think someone brought some illegal substances into the party.” He asked you and you were up and out the door within seconds, not bothering to change out of your pajamas and just threw a jacket over top of them instead

- You’re not a reckless driver, but when your sister’s in the question, you’re prepared to grow a pair of wings and fly to where she is

- Unfortunately that’s not an option so you just sped the life out of your car all the way to Stu’s house, barging in without knocking

- You only see the small velvet box when Dewey reaches for it, that’s also the very second your heart attempts to do a somersault straight out of your chest but luckily your ribs prevent it from escaping

- “But um...I needed an excuse to get you here, without scaring you too much, of course...it’s not a question you can answer over the phone after all...”

- He got down on one knee before you, opening the box to reveal the beautiful engagement ring it contained

- But you barely noticed it as you embraced and kissed your fiancée, the sparkle of the ring now dawning your finger

merlin&arthur + bigger than the whole sky: i do really love this one, partly because i was making it for a dear friend of mine, partly because of how it turned out. i knew i wanted to go for something melancholic and capture some of the more quiet, everyday kind of moments between those two, as i believe those are the kind of memories that remain after the other one is gone. i also had a stroke of genius when i thought of using that red string scene in one of the gifs (as in the red string of fate). i'm rambling a bit, but it all makes so much sense in my head, i promise.

morgana's "witch in the woods" aesthetic aka the set i would plaster onto my body if i could, simply becuase i too dream of running away and living in a hovel deep in the woods and "bog witch" is my perfect aesthetic.

bbc merlin + zodiac signs: i had a bit of a hard time with this one. deciding on the best sign for each character took ages, and then i spent a lot of time figuring out how to layout each gif—i knew i wanted to use the constellations and the sign name and the traits for each sign, so it took a bit of fiddling, but i really love the final effect. do i judge people by their zodiac signs tho? no (i said, you know, like a liar).
