i am Very good at picking out spices in food. if you give me something i can guess the spices in it with around 90% accuracy. it's funny because i was a picky eater for a while growing up so i knew what i was tasting i just didn't like it. also i can name and describe clothing pieces, styles, and fabric and it makes me sound like an absolute ponce it's great. more mundane stuff i can do the wave with my eyebrows and wiggle my ears without touching them

48. Something I want to do before I die

go to death valley and stargaze and see the milky way and learn a new language and write something and watch a meteor shower and see snow and get a house with a backyard where i can plant all the flowers i want and get a cat and learn how to swim and learn how to do needlepoint and see a musical live and fall in love and be loved back and i don't know. everything i guess

INSTEAD - After you get pregnant, Matt starts paying even more attention to every little thing you do. He wants to make sure you are comfortable. If you say you are thirsty, he will show up with a bottle of water. If you say you are not comfortable in bed, he gets you more pillows.

He sees you getting up from the couch randomly, getting his attention. “Hey what is it? Do you need something that I can get you?” You chuckle seeing how worried he is. “Relax Matt, I’m just going to the bathroom.”

GENDER - Matt doesn’t really mind about the kid gender, he’s just happy over the fact he is having a baby with you. But I’m pretty sure he would be a girl dad.

ARGUMENTS - Matt refuses to argue with you in front of the children.

“Seriously, what’s wrong with you?!” You say, slightly louder than you should. You can see the frustration in his eyes. “Just answer me already!” He sighs. “Listen, I understand that you’re upset, but i’m not letting you do this in front of the kids alright?” He cups your cheeks with his hands and gives you a small peck on the forehead. “We will sort this out once they’re in bed, okay, sweetheart?”

GIRLY - If his daughter ever asks to paint his nails or play with his hair, he's one hundred percent down for it. Honestly, he’s down for anything their kids ask for.

COMMUNICATION - He ALWAYS tries to resolve arguments with his kids talking, he never hits them or raises his voice at them.

BOYFRIENDS - If his daughter ever starts dating, he would make sure to interrogate the boy like his life depends on it.

TOYS - He is constantly buying them new toys, stuffed animals, cute clothes, everything to make them happy, but of course not to the point were they get spoiled.

YOUTUBE - He would still try his best to keep up with the youtube videos. Of course sometimes he won’t be able to be there, but if he can, he will. Matt would love to put his kids in the videos (if they want to show up, of course) when it’s vlogs and challenges.

SUBSTANCES - Matt explains them how bad it is to drink, smoke or have any kind of drugs, so under his roof that is not happening.

TOGETHER - He wants to be present in every moment of their lives. Even if for some reason the two of you are no longer together and you have custody of the kids, he will be there for anything.

BOSTON - The visits to Matt's hometown will be way more frequent so that Marylou and James can see their grandchildren.

haiiii my beloved <33 thank you for asking hehe of course i do…i fear this answer will be slightly ridiculous bc well. recency bias towards aa4 anddd about half the cases are my favorite. vey bad at narrowing down to a few. but i’m going to talk about them all anywaysss. also i’m very predictable like. while i find all the cases very fun to play my favorites are the ones that are more connected to the overarching plots/character arcs. okay here we go!!!

from aa1:

rise from the ashes was my favorite!! i missed maya of course buttt i love ema so dearly…plus we got lanamia lesbianisms and lana and ema’s relationship was sooo. i really enjoyed the introduction of the new mechanics as well and i found the case itself to be one of the most interesting ones to solve.

close close second of course turnabout goodbyes…HUGE for edgeworth understanders and also just like. unraveling the characters’ pasts and starting to understand all of them a little bit. plus you get to destroy manfred von karma’s life <33

hmm i would say reunion and turnabout and farewell my turnabout are about tied here for me!! my poor maya :((( sweetiest pie ever she didn’t deserve any of that. butt it was super interesting starting to learn more about the fey family and i think mimi and ini are superrrr compelling. also we got pearly!!!! and then farewell my turnabout…scariest turnabout ever. i was convinced at any moment doing something wrong would kill maya. however still narratively really well done and enjoyable despite the stress…and i thought adrian was a really interesting character too!

another great game for fey family nation…okay im going to tentatively rank these

bridge to the turnabout!!! such a batshit crazy case…literally everything all coming together about the fey family..great stuff. has franziska!!!!!!! another one having me so scared for my best friend maya. getting to play as edgeworth…lots of really really good stuff in this one. this is also the first time the like. tutorial case really compelled me

turnabout memories. i think this is like. so foundational to understanding phoenix as a character. plus you get to play as mia which is soso awesome. and you get to slap grossberg. really really awesome.

turnabout beginnings…such a wild case. the fact that it was both mia and edgeworth’s first….the way it ended…augh. good stuff

aa4 my beloved….this one is just hit after hit. i would say turnabout corner mighttt be my least favorite from the game just because i found wocky so fucking annoying but the actual mechanics and details of the case were super super fun to do plus literally trucy nation!!! like every case from this game is so good. turnabout trump another super fun one for the “tutorial” case like immediately throwing you into the crazy questioning what happened in the seven year gap what’s going on with kristoph everything is so augh. really really good. turnabout serenade is super super fun getting to see more about klavier and introducing valant…only thing that’s so annoying is that stupid concert video they make you watch a million times. and turnabout succession. batshit fucking insane as you put everything together. ahhh can you tell i really liked aa4 hehe

and i just started aa5 but nothing’s struck me so far…intro case pissed me off how they literally sidelined athena in favor of phoenix. and im like halfway through the monstrous turnabout and its fun but like. nothing special

okay so! school is really beating me tf up. likeeee everyday especially for the last few weeks i been wanting to end it all bc there’s just no waayyyy this is real and an academic institution got me feeling like THIS? it was just back to back deadlines and exams and i get overwhelmed easily so it doesn’t take much for my thoughts to start spiraling . not only is it stressful but i hate hate hate how some courses i take make me feel dumb; i HATE feeling like im dumb or don’t understand something immediately and ik that isn’t realistic or whatever but my expectations for myself are just far too high 🥲 and jrs been like there for a while bc yk old habits die hard you know. anyway besides that my love/hate relationship with my body has become a lot more intense lately like it’s extreme highs and lows as i hate how i wanna change it and do something abt it but literally have no energy or motivation. the first step is always so hard. and then there’s friendship irl..those can get complicated. i hate how a couple people i know make feel bad for not answering a text right away or can’t ( or won’t ) understand the demands in my life— anyway let me stop there JWXSWKWKWM

Like don’t get me wrong, I have favorites, but I am literally invested in this family. This a story about the sweetest (also firefighter? yes) Bucky (December) and his baby girl Orion and a newcomer “Beck”, cue the road to the purest relationship I’ve ever seen, with love that lasts a lifetime, and a universe that is so expertly crafted.. I read this fic at least once a month, and wait on baited breath for the “Astrophile files”. If you haven’t read this, I personally guarantee that you will love it. I know I cant imagine anyone who wouldn’t. My heart was in a constant state of mush during the whole thing.

One of my favorite types of stories are the ones where its like a modern AU with Bucky coming back from war, and this is the story that started that love for me. Bucky is out of war, missing an arm, but gaining the cutest therapy dog. Who loves dogs? The readers baby girl. This was just so phenomenally cute, and also like, raw in a way. You see the traumatic effects the war had on bucky so its really realistic, but its also beautifully melded with the sweet moments between Bucky and Gracie, and the reader and Bucky. It may be lame f me to call it “deep” but I really do feel that way, it was a fantastic read. Also, check out her story Bittersweet Symphony, which is another fantastic and honestly kinda sad, albeit unfinished story.

This is a story about a single mom reader, starting a relationship with Bucky, deciding to introduce him to her daughter, and from that we just see the purest real Laois and ship for me. It is so absolutely adorable to see how lovely Bucky is with this baby girl. The title is absolutely encompassing of the fact that it really is just such a sweet pure love between these two people. This family deserves all of the love it can’t get, because my heart absolutely just melted for them. Also check out her stories Bed and bath & From left field which are also so cute.

Alright, so Anika Has a fantastic gift for being able to take canon story lines, and interweave these AUS inside of them and oh man did it create a wonderful story. Like I genuinely could believe this is what happened. Bucky is on the run, and single mom reader needs some help on the farm. What can go wrong? This story was just so investing, I feel like I’m still invested in it like I wanna know everything that happened to them. It was such a good story, and that sounds so basic but I really mean it. They were twists and turns and I read it all in one go, and then I just had to go back and read it again because I felt like  I needed to take it in again because it was just so good. There are so many feelings that come with this, the reader works at a library and Bucky is there with a little girl and he catches the readers I, and I can’t blame her boy is fine as heck. There are some definite plot twists that come with this, but it is so cute, and Bucky is so baby, and their relationship is so adorable. I need me a bucky.

Bucky is just a single dad, who has a lot on his mind. He loves his daughter so much, but he doesn’t have the best memory. He needs help with his daughter’s birthday planning that’s coming up within the next day or two, and who better to help other than Baker reader. This couple is absolutely adorable, I think really just the dynamic between all of the characters, like just the love you can see between Bucky and his daughter, and just a kind of mutual pining between the reader and Bucky really just is recipe for a wonderful story. It’s a single dad Bucky story where he takes his baby girl out on Halloween, and absolute utter adorability ensues.  He’s dressed up as Indiana Jones, his baby is Winnie the Pooh, I was dressed up as a mess of heart mush and tears because oh my god it was so cute.  Bucky really is just the best father, he’s so sweet and caring and this family made me just want to give them all a group hug.

The interactions between Bucky and the readers daughter is so pure, no one can convince me that Bucky wouldn’t be the best with kids, he’s so patient and sweet and :)) my heart

Oh man, okay, so this one is Single Dad!Bucky AND Single Mom!Bucky. Its a super cute story of the two of them coming together with their daughters after both losing their SOs (and their daughters at the zoo place haha) its really just a super, super fluffy story. I love the idea of their two girls being friends, and I love that their relationship after their past partners weren’t rushed. There are also some twists in there that I was surprised by haha, you never really can tell who is what in New York .

Alright, let’s talk about something that absolutely melted my heart. that is, Bucky being so excited about his baby’s birthday. Oh my God, I about died I think one of the things I loved a lot about this one was the fact that it was just so in character for everybody mentioned, and the whole family feel it gave for the avengers and what not,was just so cute. hi! i just wanted to say i love how detailed and thought out and almost cinematic you and joshie make your oc stories? and you both describe scenarios so well and it really submerges me every time i read about one of your guys people. i love them all so far 💘 so yea, wonderful job. but my question would be chris does coke?!?! whats the deal with that 😭

HELLO!! thank you soso much anon that means so much to us both… you don’t even understand!! we put so much time and effort into our characters so we can’t NOT write about them like that, you know?? i’m so glad that you enjoy it though that literally means so much to me… 

UHM! yes…… sadly, he does. it all starts when he reaches the age of seventeen because THATS the time he goes through this huge life-episode type thing where he stays out really late and goes to a lot of parties and during the 80′s, coke was really popular then and not such a shocking thing when it’d happen there. so chris, one night, ended up partaking because he was like why the hell shouldn’t i? everything with his father and with having to live with him and his biploar starting to really make a presence. he ended up becoming a little addicted. like joshie had mentioned before, chris does have a very addictive personality. he loves feel-good things and will chase them anytime he gets because being fucking depressed is the last thing he wants. so he goes to more parties, does more coke with people he doesn’t even know, fucks people he doesn’t even know. he gets really chaotic between the years of 17 to 18, theyre two of the most bizarre years of his life. 

he doesn’t do any other MAJOR drugs like fucking heroin or meth. he smokes weed and does coke on the occasion, but once he sees lewis again he instantly wants to change that so he quits coke cold turkey and goes through really bad withdrawals from it. his mom and the boys all worry about him, especially during this time. lewis is really worried, too, even though they had only just retouched their friendship, he’s scared because the boy he grew up with in middle school that was happy and bright-eyed and outgoing… is gone. and this new chris is sad and does drugs and has kind of ruined himself and it upsets lewis.

ITS OKAY THOUGH i promise!! chris does get himself to stop completely at age 19! and he gets a lot better, because he has lewis again and lewis Makes him Want to be better. from that point on is when his bipolar becomes really bad and prevalent and even though he does get diagnosed and prescribed medication, he refuses to take it like a stubborn asshole because he doesn’t believe he should have to. so the problem from then on out is that he has really huge depressive episodes and really explosive manic and hypomanic episodes. he tells no one of his disorder, though, not even lewis, so the boys really worry because they notice that obviously, something is up. mikael, however, does find out about it but he knows not to tell anyone else. he worries about chris and tries to help him the best he can, but the best he can do is just be there for him. and all the boys are, they all try to support and help chris through his ups and downs and that’s what’s really sweet and intimate about it all. everyone, even big ben, cares deeply for him. they just want him to be okay :/ don’t worry, though, around the age of 24 he does start to take his medication!! because he realizes it will help him more than it would badly affect him and he recognizes the fact that he doesn’t want to feel the way that he feels anymore and he becomes stable in a way.

Two fucking lines.

That was it. You were pregnant with Steve Harrington. You knew he won't like to keep the baby and he will probably dump you as soon as you tell him. You were only seventeen both of you not ready for the baby. Despite being together for almost a year neither you or your boyfriend ever talked about the future.

'Fuck' you whispered not knowing how to tell Steve you are expexting. You pressed your forehead against the mirror as another wave of nausea hit you.

'(Y/N)?' you've heard a familiar voice coming from your room. Steve. 'Are you okay?'

'Yes. I'll be out in a second' you managed to say before throwing up once again. Suddenly you felt a pair of hands grab your hair out of your face. You didn't have the time to see who it was as you buried your head in the toilet again. After a few seconds you felt better.

'(Y/N) what's wrong, babe?' Steve asked with concern in his eyes. You knew it was the moment but you were so scared to tell him. Quickly brushing your teeth and cleaning your face you turned back to face him.

'Steve... There is something I need to tell you' you said hesitantly and took a deep shaky breath.

'What is it, babe? Tell me, please' he smiled gently and took your hand in his stroking it with his thumb.

'I'm pregnant.'

At first he just stared at you in disbelief. The worst scenarios were running through your mind as you stayed silent. The tears started to fall down your cheeks while you waited for your boyfriend to answer. Finally after what felt like hours Steve cracked a smile and let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

'And it's mine?' he asked slowly looking directly into your (Y/E/C) eyes.

You nodded. 'Listen I understand if you don't want to raise a child with me, I really do. There is a lot of single teenage moms out there who decided to keep their babies.

'Oh, (Y/N). I'm not gonna let you go. It will be hard but I feel like we are gonna manage.I want to be part of this baby's childhood and it needs a father after all. I love you and I love this baby. I know I am not perfect but I will do anything I can to help you' he whispered letting his own tears fall down. You pulled him in a hug burying your face in his chest.

'I love you' you repeated over and over again. You couldn't believe he didn't let you go. He was going to be such a good father and you were so happy to have such a great boyfriend.

Nine months later you were sitting in Steve's house holding your babygirl on your lap. Your boyfriend was standing next to you looking anciously out the window every few seconds. You could sense him being nervous. You couldn't help but giggle at him bitting down on his lip and ruffling his hair. Today was the day your friends were meeting your baby for the first time.

'It's okay, Stevie darling. They're gonna love her.'

He sighed and sat down on a couch beside you.

'I know but... What if she won't like them?' he asked looking you straight in the eyes.

Before you got the chance to answer you were disturbed by a sound of a doorbell. Steve stood up to get the door and you could hear familiar voices coming from the hall. Few seconds later Dustin, Lucas, Max, Will, Mike, Eleven, Nancy, Johnatan, Joyce and Hopper walked into the room followed by your boyfriend who was now smiling.

'(Y/N)! How are you?' your bestfriend Nancy asked kissing your cheek.

'Not bad, but this little angel here is the pain in the neck sometimes' you answered jokingly pointing at your daughter. Fortunately she was asleep so you didn't have to deal with her.

'Is she really that terrible?' asked Joyce approaching you two and sitting on the couch.

'She has an attitude. Just like her father' you looked over to Steve who was grinning proudly. You could see little sparks of joy flickering in his eyes. The comfortable scilence was interrupted by Dustin's purring. The boy leaned closer to see (Y/D/N)'s face.

'She is so fucking cute, (Y/N). Congrats!'

'Hey hey. No swearing near the baby, kid!' Steve smacked the back of his head. Ever since you gave birth he became very overprotective and cut down cursing to minimum. You wasn't even allowed to say 'heck' next to the baby. Although it was not nessesary, as she still would learn swears anyway, you found it sweet and adorable that he cared for your child. 'She'll learn them and I don't want her to be a troublemaker like me, shithead.'

You all laughed at his expression when he realised he accually cursed in front of his babygirl. His cheeks turned red and he hid his face in his hands.

Eleven was the next one to approach. She gently kneeled in front of you and stared at you.

'Here El. You can hold her' you said smiling softly and handing her (Y/D/N). After showing her how to hold the baby properly she looked down at the newborn.

'Oh look. She's awake' said Jonhatan. You glanced down at Eleven and your child and noticed that indeed she wasn't sleeping anymore but she was also about to cry. Her eyes started to water as she let out a series of quiet whimpers. Everyone held their breath in unision. Before you had time to react El pressed a sloppy kiss to baby's forehead and started rocking her gently to the sides. (Y/D/N) stopped crying instantly. You stared in pure confusion at them not understanding what just happened. You were so touched by Eleven's soft side that you had to bit your lip to stop yourself from tearing up.

'Maybe we have to invite El more often' you heard Steve murmur against your hair while hugging you from the back.

'Yeah. Definitely' you whispered back leaning into his touch.

I saw a lot of people criticising this, like "you shouldn't use your writing as therapy." For some reason a lot of my ideas come from a personal place, but i'm getting self conscious about it. Wdyt?

(3/3) As long as it's honest, not a "this character has no flaw bc i have no flaw!" kind of thing, what's so bad about giving your characters some of your own insecurities/experiences? Doesn't it make it somewhat more "real"? Anyway, about that writing journal... It sounds amazing I would totally read that!! I'm sure a lot of ppl would be interested in it too! DIA! Istg I'm gonna leave u alone at some point. I just thought about something. Character development. How do u go abt it? Do u list all ur characters, write their backstories, qualities, flaws, personalities, fam/relationships, little trivia? Do you just go with the flow and not really bother? Thanks for coming back to me. It is always a pleasure to help whenever I can so never feel sorry about it. I’m the one who should probably apologise for taking so goddamn long to answer each one T^T I’ve been busy with work, nursing my foster kittens and preparing for...something, in my personal life, so I haven’t been around much.

First of, I would have to disagree when somebody says something like not using writing as a form of therapy. I really have to debunk that because writing can be a form of therapy. Hell, even I have been using writing as my own personal therapy.

Here’s the thing, though. Using your own personal life experience and putting them into the story you are writing can be good and bad at the same time. The positive factor of it would be that (1) you will be adding something that is “real” into the plot and create “real” characters and, (2) by understanding the context of the real-life experience you are bringing into the story, you will have the ability to create a solid backstory. The negative side is that if you are not careful or if that past experience involves a personal trauma, it might be triggering to some readers. I’ve seen this happening in the past, when writers put past traumas (for example, physical abuse) into the story without proper warning or too many graphic descriptions and it triggered a lot of their audience which resulted in strong reactions through negative comments, public complaints, etc.

Just remember to put certain boundaries when you are trying to bring out these life experiences and plan it properly and with proper research when needed. And remember that when writing fanfiction, even though most readers and writers have the ability to separate the characters in the story with the real living persons whose names and characters traits you are placing in the story, there are still many that could not do just the same.

Giving flaws and insecurities into the characters is always a good idea. Let readers see the characters’ weaknesses, fears, pain, and let them feel what the characters feel so they can get themselves more engrossed into the story better. Characters who are too perfect might seem great at the beginning, but sometimes it can make the story appear a bit “bland”. Not to mention, these “flaws” will allow any character development to transpire. 

Now, this may be able to answer your last question, because yes, I am a total sucker to any character development happening in a story. Just as I mentioned previously, witnessing your characters grow in the story you are writing will pull your audience deeper into your story and have them more engrossed into it. There is a certain thrill and pride whenever it happens. I have to be honest, there have been times when I give up on a certain story (whether writing it or reading it somewhere) only because I’m not seeing any development in the characters. Because not seeing your character grow can make it feel like you are stuck in one point no matter how much the story grows (idk if I explained it well but you probably get the gist of it).

Another answer to your last question, I have different techniques in building a story and my characters. Sometimes I will take my sweet time building up their backstory, flaws, personalities to have a character come into “life”, but other times, I just let the character grows on their own according to the plot. It depends more on which I am putting my full attention on with a story. For example, in Carousel, I just let the characters grow along with how the plot develops, that is why I can sometimes delete a scene or two that I have planned for months when it doesn’t necessarily work best with how the plot flows or if it no longer fits with the character’s growth. Meanwhile, About Time and Blood Moon Rising have their own proper planning with intricate listings of each character’s backstory, purposes, and even their own timelines before I started plotting the scenes.

Now, if we’re talking about the character that you mentioned as “too perfect”, you don’t need to go so far as backtracking if you already have the story progressing. You can always fuck a character up by making a twist on the plot ahead. Every aspect in real life always has their own twists anyway, like a very perfect household may encounter a storm in it, or a student with perfect grades can get stuck on a one wild night of partying thanks to a dorm mate, or something similar to those, so you can bring it into your story to finally show a flaw in your character even if it’s just a tiny bit of it.

Speaking of writing diaries, I might as well make one within this week. Although it might not be as specific as the ones I put out during my NaNo projects. So far, I have only been keeping track of how much I have written within a week and how far I have gotten by listing my word count into my monthly activity calendar, like this:

As you can see, I haven’t been writing as much as I want to lol so the diary will only show the days when I do write instead of showing a day to day progress.

oh god. i don’t wanna be a downer but i don’t have much advice for this, retail SUUUUCKS. working in retail opens your eyes to just how stupid, helpless and annoying people can be. it’s not pretty. it CAN get better if you have coworkers you genuinely enjoy spending time with, who can lessen the burden of your responsibilities. joking around can help a lot, so if you’re not friends with them already, try to be!! just talk to them and i’m sure a relationship will grow. also remember it’s not the end of the world if this job doesn’t work out for you. you can find a new one, and you probably will at some point in the future. i’m gonna point you towards @essiesims because she works in retail so she probably has some words of wisdom for you...hopefully...be nice essie

a number of things, mainly just their discomfort with the category they’ve automatically been placed in from birth. but that doesn’t necessarily mean they want to change their body or dress a certain way.

OMG i love that combo...it is really weird but somehow the two suit each other. lou and my bff are actually leo sun/pisces moons (so opposite from you lmao, but that’s the reason i like those signs together!) leos have a very active imaginations and pisces just exacerbates that. i feel like in terms of boldness and outgoing nature, it could go either way for you. since pisces suns are usually more understated and quiet, that could fit you. but i often find that leo moons with literally any other placements will make you quite outgoing, sometimes obnoxious. so maybe you flip flop between shyness and outgoingness, especially since pisces focuses on adaptability anyway.
