How do the OG love interests react to you with Sylus?

*a/n: Hi guys this is my first headcanon so please be nice :) In this none of them are officially dating MC but it's pretty obvious that they all have feelings for her. Also, it takes place at a work event for MC and I know technically in the main story there's no way Sylus would be allowed into a hunter’s association event, but I couldn't think of any other type of event where they would all happen to be at the same time. Either way, this is just for fun so it doesn't really need to make sense.

Genres/Warnings: fem!reader, nothing to really worry about, this is just some good old-fashioned fluff/crack. Some jealousy tho

An award ceremony was coming up at Unicorns to award the best hunters at the company, You were surprised when Captain Jenna told you that you’d been nominated for a few categories like most wanderers eliminated in a single mission and even Hunter of the Year, but since you were a rookie hunter you didn't think you’d win any of them, still, it was nice to be included, especially since you were one of the only rookies to be nominated.

That evening you got a call from Sylus congratulating you on your nominations. 

“How did you even know I’d been nominated” you asked. 

“Mephisto informed me,” he said with a small chuckle

“Oh so you have him monitoring me at work now?” you questioned, slightly annoyed.

“He was simply in Linkon doing some business for me, is it my fault that he happened to pass by your office on the way back to the base?” Sylus sarcastically asked, you could almost hear the smirk in his voice.

“Anyways, I wanted to ask you, have you decided on what you’re going to wear to the award ceremony yet? 

“Yeah, why?” you were suspicious of his sudden interest in your fashion choices.

“Good, come over to the base I want to see it,” he said flatly

“Why?” you were even more suspicious of his motives now. 

“Well, we’ll need to match if I'm going to be on the arm of the Hunter of the Year right?” *click*

Sylus didn’t even wait for you to reply and just hung up, almost like he knew you’d come over anyway so he didn’t need confirmation. He was right. Somehow he had not-so-subtly invited himself to your award show as your plus-one.

As you walk into the banquet hall, arms linked, you see a familiar face in the crowd…

Zayne: 

-Zayne would be a little bothered but would hide it by asking Sylus a million questions. about how he knows you, when he met you and how long have you and him been friends.

-He would make sure to emphasize the word “Friends” to know for sure if you two were dating

-his logic is if you and Sylus are dating, one of you would correct him, but if you are indeed just friends you wouldn’t say anything.

-to his relief, you  didn't correct him

-Sylus would sense the fact that Zayne probably has some type of close relationship with you too so he’d pull you a little closer by your waist as he proceeds to ask Zayne his own series of questions about how he knows you.

-Zayne would be satisfied after the conversation and excuse himself to go find his seat.

-even tho he was relieved that you weren’t dating Sylus he’d still glance over at you every few minutes because he couldn’t put his finger on it but he has a hunch that Sylus might be bad news and he wants to make sure you’re safe.

-Sylus would keep his hand on your waist the whole night because even tho you didn’t notice Zayne’s glances Sylus sure did.

-Overall while Zayne wouldn’t like the fact that you came to the ceremony with another man (especially since you didn’t even think to invite him) he’d respect your choices and leave you be (mostly)

Rafayel:

-He’d be the most openly bothered by it.

-the second he sees you walk in he runs up to you, ready to playfully scold you for not inviting him and that he had to find out about the event from Thomas, so he thought he’d invite himself. He told the person at the door that he was your plus one (he also slipped them a $100 bill)

-as he ran up to you his smile faded as he saw your arm linked with another man that wasn’t him

-oh so this is why you didn’t invite him

- He would greet you with a long hug hoping to make Sylus Jealous 

-he would instantly turn on his best customer service voice when greeting Sylus to try and hide how hurt he is that you invited some random guy instead of him

- but that would quickly fade once Sylus starts answering his long list of questions he just has to ask to make sure this random not important guy that you invited instead of him was worthy of being your plus one.

-Rafayel takes every answer as a challenge to try and one-up Sylus

-if Sylus mentioned that he took you to a fancy Italian restaurant in Linkon City last week, Rafayel would mention how he took you to a real Italian restaurant in Italy last month, (or at least how he wanted to but you were busy with work and couldn’t just drop everything and join him in Italy)

-if Sylus said he bought you the dress that you’re wearing, Rafayel would remind you of the time he bought you a cute mermaid-themed hoodie which is actually your favourite and you use it all the time, therefor it’s more important than a dress that you’ll only wear once

-while Rafayel was getting worked up trying to keep up with Sylus. Sylus kept his calm demeanour the whole conversation, he noticed that the calmer he was the more annoyed Rafayel would get and he found it amusing. 

-Rafayel would constantly text you throughout the night to check on you even though you were sitting only 1 table away.

-Sylus took note of this and would purposefully do things like put his arm around your shoulder or wipe the food off your lips to get Rafayel to frantically text you making sure you’re ok, and ask if you want to switch seats and come sit next to him where you won't have a random guy constantly touching you.

-overall he will be suuuuper jealous and will make it very obvious (even though in his mind he thinks he was being subtle) 

Xavier:

-I think he’d be extremely bothered but he'd be way better at hiding it than Rafayel

-like the others he’d also have a few questions for him about what his relationship with you is but he would very casually drop them into a normal conversation

-he, much like the others stared at you the whole night, but only just to make sure you were ok, definitely not because he was jealous or anything. You’re his co-worker and friend so he feels responsible if anything happens to you.

-he would try and do a background check on him during the event on his hunter's watch but nothing came up, since Sylus obviously didn’t tell Xavier who he really was. 

-this made Xavier even more worried, who is MC really sitting with, how is she so calm and why would he give him fake info, just what is he trying to hide? 

-he was so focused on staring at you and Sylus that he didn't even notice that he downed 3 full plates of finger foods, every time the waiters would pass by he would unconsciously grab the plates out of their hands and bitterly eat while staring, almost like he’s in a trance.

-once you guys get to the apartment building and the adrenalin wears off he’ll notice that his stomach is in so much pain from all the food he unknowingly ate while staring at you and Sylus.

-he nearly collapses in the elevator on the way to your apartments, so you decide to invite yourself over to his and take care of him

- he may be in tons of pain right now but at least he gets you all to himself

Day 29: My Dream With Xavier

NOTE: It didn't became a part of the question to be honest. But since I was having a dream with Xavier, I have to write this question while writing my dream down today before my dream will forget. Like Xavier said, "We forget all about our dreams as soon as we wake up."

In the night of October 13, 2024, I began to sleep.

And as I sleep, I began to dream with Xavier.

Here's what I dreamt until I woke up at October 14, 3am:

It all started when I was after finally finished setting the most beautiful birthday party for him, I was willing to wait for him to arrive.

But, he hasn't showed up that's longer than usual that I was filled with worry that I have to go look for him.

I searched and searched until I reached a very dangerous place where the night is full of terror and fear. I was so scared that I can see, hear and feel with so much darkness and anxiety.

And as the familar boss Wanderer that's right behind me, I started to face it alone. I thought I was going to beat this beast but...I wasn't.

I thought I was going to give up when Xavier finally came to me and stop the Wanderer by setting a trap to it. He finally found me and I was begin to cry. He apologize to me for making me waiting for too long and hugged me tight while he's comforting me and reassuring me.

As the Wanderer is breaking the trap that Xavier created, we stop hugging and time to fight the familiar boss Wanderer that's tougher and stronger.

When we start fighting, it was challenging because again, this familiar boss Wanderer is tougher and stronger. And like I said, the battle is getting more difficult and tougher than before. The Wanderer kept beating me like crazy. However...We finally manage to beat this beast.

But for a few moments later, the familar boss Wanderer slowly rose up and goes berserk and it awakens a very tremendous yet dangerous power.

I said to Xavier that we can't stop this beserk boss Wanderer that it was so dangerous that we can end our lives here.

But Xavier said to me while he squeezed my hand with assurance:

"As long as I'm with you in every losses and triumphs, in ups and downs, in joyful and darkest hours, we will face it together."

I was emotional at first for a few moments until I was crying with a smile. It uplifts my weighed feelings and weary self. Xavier's right.

And with that, we faced this Wanderer together as we aim for its weak spot, show us our combination moves until we finally found the source to defeat this Wanderer. It was located to the chest, the heart.

We finally gave it a one final yet powerful blow to struck the Wanderer's heart as we fight and resonate our hearts together.

And with that, the Wanderer has finally defeated at last. For real. It was eliminated like a supernova.

And after the powerful Wanderer has finally gone, the stars from the night sky has returned to beautiful twinkling and stellar glow.

Afterwards, I hold Xavier's hand to guide him and walked to the place to the birthday party setting I made it for him.

And it made Xavier smiling like never before. His heart is filled with warmth. He hugged me and whispered "Thank you" to me.

And he said to me, "But... What the best birthday gift to me is we fight one Wanderer and faced it together. And I am proud of you and lucky to be my partner. You are something more than just a mission partner."

My heart swelled with emotion but it made me filled with happiness.

And so, we celebrate the birthday together after we fought the most powerful Wanderer in our lives. We reminiscent our memories together, play the plushies we caught from the claw machine together (Including the Bunbuns and Galaxy Kids), singing Happy Birthday and make a wish on the Bunbun shaped cake I made, and watch the stars together.

Xavier said to me that I gave the best birthday party ever that he hug me tight. His arms are strong yet filled with loving warmth. I was crying but Xavier hushed me and let me listening his breathing and his heartbeat.

And thanks to the sound of his breathing and his heartbeat, I closed my eyes and fall asleep.

And that's how I finally woke up at 3:00 am. It was an emotional dream because I kept cuddling my Xavier plushie for a very long time, for many days, including my bedtime days.

I was crying while cuddling my Xavier plushie because it went too surreal and real to me.

notes: of course. sorry for the long wait, love. ❤️ at first i tried to make is like a story, but i changed my mind and so because you did specify what exactly you want (headcanons, oneshots, etc) i decided to make it this way.

ZAYNE

at first he didn’t realise what he had done, but realisation hit him when he saw your tears.

“sweetheart, you know i didn’t mean tha-“

he didn’t really get to continue his conversation because of a slap he received from you. he was shocked, eyes wide and mouth open.

“just shit the fuck up, zayne. i do not need your ‘medical advice’ again” you said, making your way outside his office.

and so you refused to answer his calls, texts, facetimes all day, staying in your apartment crying.

after his shift, he regretted all his actions and how he made you cry. the stress and anxiety got the best of him, and so he decided to surprise you with some flowers and chocolate, making his way home ready for another slap and to give some explanation.

“i really, really hate you” you too him, looking at the chocolate he got for you, too angry to eat them.

“i know. i’m sorry. it’s not going to happen again, i promise.”

RAFAYEL

when the first tears appeared on your face, he knew he was fucked. he didn’t really mean what he said, the deadline of his painting stressing him out.

he said your name, putting the paintbrush down and looking at you, with fear in your eyes. ‘i fucked up. they are angry’ he thought, trying to make the distance between you two a little bit shorter.

“just… i’m going to leave. if i’m so annoying to listen, then i’m shutting up and leaving. have a great day, rafayel.”

and so he was left alone, with an unfinished painting and tears in his eyes, thinking that the fucked up his relationship with you.

later in the day, when he made a plan to win you over he called you, asking where you are and what are you doing. he surprised you with something, apologising and saying he was an idiot for snapping at you.

“i love you, darling. you know i need you like a fish needs water.”

XAVIER

two stubborn people. he was wrong, he didn’t really want to say it out loud. seeing you tears after, he realised he fucked up and all his thoughts vanished in a moment.

“baby. i’m sorry, i didn’t mean-“

“no. xavier… just. go back.” you told him, leaving him behind in the forest, looking for wanderers.

“no” he shouted back, running after and you taking your hand. “i didn’t mean that.”

“you did. you just said it. that i’m not good enough? that i’m not a good hunter? i should quit?”

“no. fuck.” he said, taking your face in his hand. “i’m just worried.”

“you don’t have trust in me. i hate it, xavier.” was your response, not wanting to look at his eyes.

and so you had a serious conversation in the woods, xavier apologizing and explaining why he is worried. in a way, you understood him, but you didn't want to think that you were a weak hunter.

"i love you. i'm just worried about you."

You confess your love to them

— “I like you, Xavier, like, really like you..”

Xavier is reserved and composed in his response. He might initially appear calm and collected, but underneath his calm demeanor, his heart skips a beat. He never realized how badly he needed to hear these words from you. He might take a moment to process the confession before giving a thoughtful reply, acknowledging your feelings while considering the implications for your relationship and the shared dangerous mission you have. Xavier would be sincere in his response, but also express relief.

"I didn’t expect this… but I’ve felt something for you too. Thank you for telling me.”

— “Can we talk, Rafayel?”

Rafayel would respond with a touch of playfulness, pretending he didn’t hear you the first few times only to hear you repeat those heartwarming words again. A grin would be plastered on his face as he studied your features, trying to read whether you were sincere or just messing about. He might tease you a bit to lighten the tension, but beneath his teases, he is giddy. All of this was real, his favorite person in the whole wide world had confessed to him— no more lonely nights in his studio nor wondering whether you were really on a mission or spending time with some other man while he eagerly awaited your texts…

"So, you’ve finally admitted what I’ve known all along? I’ve been drawn to you from the start, it only made sense for you to feel the same way."

— “I know it’s late, but I need to tell you something, Zayne. Please listen.”

Zayne would take a moment to absorb the confession, his usual calm and thoughtful demeanor keeping him grounded. The doctor’s first reaction would be a gentle, contemplative silence, as he carefully chooses his words, not necessarily out of hesitation but more so out of a desire to be as sincere as possible. Zayne’s maturity and sense of responsibility come through first as he only wants what’s best for you. Even if that meant falling for someone else but him, but fortunately, his feelings were returned.

“You’ve always been important to me, more than you know. If you’re sure about this, then I’m ready to be by your side…"

— “Sylus, do you have a minute?”

Sylus would respond with a smirk, his eyes gleaming with a mix of amusement and satisfaction. He’d take a moment to let the weight of the confession hang in the air, enjoying the tension before making his move. His voice, smooth and patronizing, his steps slow, before he came to a halt in front of you.

“Is that so, kitten?” Sylus chuckle softly, his hand lightly brushing against your cheek, the touch both possessive and teasing.

“You’ve intrigued me from the start. You’re not like the others who fall in line without question. That’s why I won’t let you slip away. You’ve caught my attention, and believe me, I don’t intend to let go easily, sweetie.”

And in chapter 3 MC asks Xavier to prove that he's affiliated with the Hunter's Association and works for them, and say something only a Hunter would know.

Asking the L&Ds boys "What are we?" Part 2: Xavier

Summary: MC and her boy have been in a sort of situation-ship but MC wants to know why they haven't officially called her their girlfriend

a/n: This ended up being much longer than I thought so I'm making it into 4 parts (one for each boy) here's part 2 with Xavier. you can request who you want me to post next if you want

After another long day of battling wonderers, you and Xavier head back to the office to change out of your hunter’s uniforms. A whole day of combat makes you very sweaty and you don’t want to be smelly for your date with Xavier. But was it a date? You and Xavier had been going out for dinner almost every night since you found out you both lived in the same apartment complex. But they never really felt like dates, and he’s never really called you his girlfriend. You told yourself It was just more convenient since he couldn’t cook without potentially burning down the apartment and after a long day, you were just too tired to. Was that all it was, just a convenient way to have a meal? But what about all the dirty looks he gives the other male hunters when you get paired with them for assignments, were you just seeing things or was he jealous? But what does he have to be envious of if you’re not truly his?

“Are you ready to go?” a soft voice breaks you from your thoughts. You turn around to see Xavier standing behind you. You’d been waiting outside the changing rooms for him for a few minutes. “Sorry it took so long there was a problem with one of the showers, I had to rinse off in the sink” 

You give Xavier a small smile as you both start to walk down the empty hall “How do you always end up in these situations? Are you cursed or something” you laugh “Don’t stand too close I don't want your curse to rub off on me” you say jokingly as you dramatically step away from him.

Following your joke he dramatically steps towards you and tries to put his arms around you. “But I don’t want to be the only one that's cursed hold me and we’ll be cursed together for the rest of our lives” he pulls you into a big bear hug as you both laugh while you pretend to escape. You both are having too much fun to notice the janitor glancing at you from over his shoulder while he cleans the windows “Ah, young love” he said with a sentimental sigh, quite enough that you two could just barely hear it but enough to make you realize that you’re not the only people in the building as you had initially thought. You can feel your heart race a little at the janitor's words.  Xavier lets go of you and you continue to walk out of the building. 

Trying to break the awkward silence Xavier finally speaks up. “You know, I heard wishing on a star can break a curse, and since we’re both cursed now you have to help me find a wishing star tonight to undo the curse. What do you say?” he asks looking at you expectantly

“Well yeah now since you’ve cursed me I guess I have no choice but to help you break the bad luck with showers curse” You feigned annoyance. “But first we need food! Where were you planning on taking us tonight?”

Xavier smiled, happy that the awkwardness from earlier was gone. “I saw this new pizza place a few blocks away from our apartment, it's like a DIY place they give you the dough and toppings and you get to bake it in the little ovens at your table” Xavier basically had stars in his eyes when he mentioned baking.

“Uh… maybe we order in tonight, you don’t want to have to pay for repairs when you destroy their oven now, do you ?” you look at him with a sarcastic grin.

“I promise I won’t burn down anything this time, plus I’ll have you right there with me, there's no way you’d let me burn our dinner right?” he chuckles and puts out his hand to grab yours. “Let's go, those pizzas aren’t going to DIY themselves”

Later at the pizza place you and Xavier are having fun making tons of fun, and in Xavier’s case, weird pizza combos. You two spent so much time having fun that you almost forgot you promised to go stargazing tonight before you went home. Xavier gets the attention of the waitress so that he can pay the bill. 

The waitress was a sweet old lady who, when she wasn’t busy helping other tables, made it her mission to make sure you guys hand everything you need. “Did you two have a great time?” she asks handing Xavier the check.

“Yeah it was great, I love the concept it's so fun,” you said with a big smile. Xavier pays and looks up at the waitress “Yeah we’re definitely going to come back here”

“Oh, I’m glad,” The waitress says as she starts to grab your empty plates off the table. “You two are definitely the cutest couple I've seen here in a while, I hope you stay together forever. 

“Um.. we’re…no…” you started to correct the lady but she just kept going.

I heard if you wish on a star by the fountain down the street you’re 100% guaranteed to have that wish come true. Maybe I’ll make a little wish for you two”

You were about to correct the lady again but Xavier cut you off “Thank you that's very kind of you ma’am” Xavier politely bowed as she stacked the last of the dishes and walked away. Xavier puts out his hand to help you out of your chair. “Well let's go find a wishing star to break this curse”

At the fountain, you and Xavier sit quietly for some time just looking up at the sky trying to find a star to wish on. Still feeling a little awkward about what the waitress said, you wanted to say something to make it less awkward but the words that spilled out were anything but. “What are we? 

Xavier, without missing a beat answered “We’re just two people looking up at the stars”

“Just?” you questioned

Before you can say anything more a shooting star passes overhead, Xavier clasps his hands together and starts to wish “ Oh great wishing star please let me and my wonderful girlfriend be together forever, even though she doesn't trust me to use an oven by myself but that just means I get to take her out on more dates. And sometimes it may take her a while to notice things but she’s mine and I want to be with her forever, even though we might be cursed” Xavier finishes his wish and looks to you “What was it you wanted to ask me?

“Uh… nothing … never mind” You looked up to see him staring at you his eyes sparkling like stars a slight blush on his cheeks. This made your heart skip a beat so you looked away quickly and turned your head up to look for more stars.”I hope your wish comes true” you stated bashfully.

Xavier chuckled and also looked up “ Well since we’ll be together forever now, I guess we don’t really need to wish away the curse right ?” 

“Yes, we do! I don’t want to be washing off in the company sinks every day, let’s hurry up and find another wishing star I'll stay here all night if I have to” You say in a joking tone

Xavier places his hand over yours “Well then, I’ll be glad to accompany my girlfriend on her quest to lift our curse.”
