UnderIllness
Mini AU.
TW: Hospitals, Dire Illnesses, Life-Threatening conditions.
(In this story, Sans is the younger sibling.)
Lately, a fatal, life-threatening disease has been discovered in the underground, and it only affects monsters, humans can't have it. It's a random, non-infectuous disease that is present since birth.
It's called "Magic Failure". It causes the SOUL to not process or generate enough magic to keep the body alive and functional. Any kind of monster can have it, but the disease is specially agressive in skeleton monsters, since they rely 100% on their soul and magic, no organs whatsoever.
Without treatment, babies born with this condition are usually born sleeping, or they close their eyes forever after a few hours after birth. Even those babies who survive birth, they don't usually make it to their first year of life.
Sans was born with one of the most extreme cases of the disease. The doctors asked Gaster and Papyrus if they wanted to give Sans a quick and peaceful death, or use him to investigate the disease, potentially find a cure and keep him alive with the treatment only. They chose the latter.
And what's the treatment, then?
It's keeping Sans artificially alive by machines only. He's constantly under life support. There are tubes connected to his soul that pass to it the artificial magic and painkiller medicines. He also can't eat or do his needs by his own, he needs to do them always by tubes. Since the smallest wrong movement could easily kill him, he's perpetually confined in a hospital bed, or in a wheelchair. When he was born, he had a pacemaker connected to his soul, in case it fails and stops beating. If that happens, the pacemaker sends a strong electric shock to his body that leaves him physically weak (even weaker).
The disease is so strong, that if you just carefully hold or pat him, you already have some dust residue in your hands.
The side effect of the medicines are devastating. He's always with a weird, tired smile, even if he's not actually happy. He looks always tired and sleepy because he's always on drugs. Not to mention all the medicines left him with a short height and weight, and they also left him permanently stuck at the mental age of a 9 year old kid.
Even with all of those low quality life conditions, the life expectancy with these machines is still exceptionally low. The monster who lived the most in this conditions lived until his early 30's. This was an exceptional case, most cases live until their late teen years or until their early 20's at most, if not earlier. This is why most pregnant monsters with babies with the disease have the option of getting an abortion.
Papyrus gave up his dream of becoming a royal guard to help his brother in finding a cure to his fatal condition.
Sans loves his brother, and in general, loves having friends and talking to others (specially because he's most times completely alone in his hospital room in the ICU), but he also secretely kinda envies him, because Pap, unlike Sans, is healthy and can enjoy life properly.
Since he's mentally immature, he can't actually romatically love anyone. He just gets really attached to his loved ones easily.
He's touch starved. Though usually his medicines put him to sleep, he prefers falling asleep while hugging or cuddling someone, preferably with his head on the other person's chest, listening to their heartbeat/soulbeat. It's not only a soothing sound for him, it also lets him hear the life of the other person, and it's the closest thing he can experience of knowing what being healthy feels like.
In a human equivalent, Sans would have a disease that involves the following conditions:
- Kidney failure
- Low defenses
- Lack of iron in his blood
- Arrythmias (With a murmur), and eventually, heart failure
- Reflux
- Bronchospasms, or other respiratory track issues
---
Sans can't attack on his own. He can only float and move his own wheelchair and, at most, he can use his own machines to send electric shocks. But if he uses the latter, he gets exhausted easily.
Though he feels sometimes depressed about his condition, others he prefers being optimistic.
He's currently 21, but as I said before, he got permanently stuck at the mental age of a child. At age 21, he's currently one of the patients with magic failure that have lived the most.
He asked for being euthanized, but since he's like a child, his petition got denied multiple times.
If his frail health deteriorates even further, he'll be put in a coffin directly, disconnected from his machines, and let him say his final words. His dust would be spread in a place with flowers and plants.
---
You can:
Use Illness!Sans for fanarts and fanfiction, as long as you ask permission and give credit first
Use Illness!Sans for other media, with the same condition as the previous permission.
You can't:
Use this character for actual romantic shipping in any form. Friendship is ok, but heck, no romantic media involving him at all.

Jkaslhf so I was dicking around with another AU idea I had from a long time ago where reader is a human that dies on the surface.
Instead of actually dyeing tho they end up in the underground because Dr. Gaster was attempting to make an artificial soul and somehow got Readers soul and stuck it into a skeleton body (Because of a mix of their perseverance soul and… something else I forgot because it was so long ago that I thought of this AU) Gaster believed he successfully made a artificial soul and intended to help it get stronger in the body until it could be used to break the barrier. He brings it home (For some reason or another, probably because a body still needs to be cared for in order to survive and that’s not gonna happen in a lab) and Reader meets Sans (still pretty young) and Papyrus (Babybones ver. (TM)). Gasters trying but he’s kind of bad at the whole parenting thing so Sans ends up taking care of both. Eventually Gaster figures out that the “artificial soul” he created is pretty… Lively… and before he knows it he’s got three kids to take care of instead of two. All the while keeping quiet about the fact he technically has a soul capable of breaking the barrier.
Reader grows up as the “Middle” child of the three, getting a lot of hand-me-downs from Sans until they grow too much and Gatser has to give them his. Mostly dressing in old sweats and hoodies because sans is sans and Gaster doesn’t wear his because he needs to be professional.
Sans and Readers relationship is really freaking tense- Reader is sure Sans loves Papyrus more then he ever will Reader. Sans bonded with Papyrus way before Reader- and he totally could have handled the little bundle of joy but then Gaster had to bring another one along and suddenly this barely even a teen monster has to take care of two very young kids (On top of that Reader didn’t seem to want anything to do with them at first- the trauma of dying and then coming back very very wrong doing a number on them) Sans did favor Papyrus for a while, usually because Papyrus required more attention and Reader tended to not really… do much, and Readers aware he tried to care for them the best he could but… they feel like he never actually saw them as family.
Even though Reader believes Sans doesn’t like them, they take every single word he says to heart. Too bad they only ever remember the bad ones.
Papyrus was the first one to break them out of their trauma induced state when he was a baby. He had been wailing and wailing and wailing one day and Sans had been panicking (because sometimes kids just scream for no reason and it’s not another kids job to fix it) and left him with Reader for just a moment (He’ll be right back just—just please don’t make him cry anymore--) and after a few moments of Reader watching Paps cry they started to… gently shush him. Paps calmed down and Reader found themselves falling in love with the bundle of joy (Papyrus also saved their life a little bit that day, because when Sans and Gaster found them Curled around the bundle gently humming it hit Gaster that there was far more to this “Shell” then he has assumed) when they get older Reader has the same admiration for Papyrus Sans does, and is just as protective (the only time Sans and Reader really seem to get along is when they’re gushing about Paps) . When they’re not working, they’re usually with him helping with a puzzle or joking around. Sometimes it seems like Papyrus is aware that there’s something very off about Reader, but he never brings it up.
He calls them family, but for some reason Reader finds it hard to believe.
Gaster was… hard to pinpoint. To the younger Reader he was cold at first, always dragging them away in the middle of the day to do tests and check ups that Reader never understood fully. He tried to keep them distanced from Sans and Paps at first but that was all crushed within a few weeks of them all being under the same roof. He softened up to them, and once he saw that Sans was now struggling with two kids he started to take a more active role in their life. He choose to keep Reader safe, and he did it right up until his descent into the core.
With their still human soul they sometimes feel like hes still there, sometimes there’s a hand brushing against their arm. A cold chill that feels misplaced even in Snowdin. Reader doesn’t know if it’s their imagination, Gaster trying to communicate, Or (in the still anxiety ridden part of their mind) said man trying to take back the “Shell” he had created all those years ago.
(Gaster is the only one that really remembers one night when sans came to his room with this look in his eyes that Gaster rarely saw. The boy had always been wise past his years and connected a few dots together that implied that Reader wouldn’t be staying for too long. Gaster stopped him before the boy could even start and let him know that Reader would be staying with them for a long time (And he remembers the little note cards Sans had dropped before bolting over to hug Gaster- all the reasons to keep their new friend.))

Fragments of Yesterday
An Undertale/Katekyou Hitman Reborn fanfic
I only own the fanfic and anything original
Also On fanfiction.net and A03
Frisk went missing, one moment there. then next they were gone. Skull, Skull has always been mute with a nifty device to give them a voice. Was Once 'If Skull was Frisk'
Chapter 1: A Moment...
Skull winced as a spark hit his finger, due to limited space he couldn’t wear his gloved. But right now, this one tiny bit of damage had knocked out phone, net and Tv from the house. Really; he was better working on a bike, but the others wanted them back now and didn’t want to hire and electrician.
The reason they wanted it as soon as possible, was probably due to the latest special for human-monster corporation.
Now Skull himself hadn’t met a monster before, even thought they had been about for over thirty years ago. From what he learned when he woke in the hospital, monsters had been freed years before by some kid.
The stuntman had seen pictures, and he wouldn’t mind meeting them. The skeleton bros looked awesome.
“Aha,” he said, finally mending the spot. He heard the others talk as the TV came on.
Yawning he adjusted the thin strip mostly invisible choker, years ago before the curse he’d come across a scientist almost as smart as Verde.
They’d... helped with his issue, you know the small issue of being totally mute.
He didn’t know exactly how it worked, but he knew it did and could build himself another in his sleep. The only problem that it seemed to be stuck on a male voice, and didn’t really work as well with his baby form so he’d sounded annoying as hell.
Skull only chose being male because at least the voice made sense, even though he was more gender neutral and his body had both sets of genders.. just not active.
So male.... until Verde figures out how to make the choker make a gender neutral voice.
Skull wasn’t holding his breath.
He quickly washed his hands and pulled on his gloved, slipping into the living room and his bean bag chair. On the Tv was the royal monster Asgore and Toriel, and he swore there was some type of pun about her name.
“There talking about there missing adoptive kid again, kid probably has there own kids by now if there still alive,” Lal said from the love chair.
“Not knowing what happens is probably worse,” Skull said, after all he had no idea what his past was and it hurt not knowing.
Soon enough the event ended, and they scattered off. Some to bed, Skull to the garage to work on his base.
“I must be more tired then i thought,” Skull said, for he swore there a glowing yellow star floating in the corner of the room. Leaning down he reached out and touched it, then pulled back as he became extremely dizzy.
“Right sleep,” Skull said, as the star was gone.
Garage-Saved
Miles away in New Snowdin, Sans blinked as he felt something shift just out of time.
He hadn’t felt it since the kid.
“Kid?” he said.
Chapter 2: Twice Met
Toriel sighed in relief as she stepped off the plain, her nose wrinkled as the smell of sweaty humans stale airport air and other such scents. She adjusted her handbag and Sans grinned at her, well more then usual.
“Welp here we are, the land of Japan,” Sans said adjusting his backpack as they headed to the luggage claim.
“So many places to visit, I never got a chance to visit before we were sealed so it will be interesting,” she replied, unsaid was the thought of running across sweet Frisk.
Frisk...
Her dear child.
Someone they still had no clue what happened.
“I see our bags,” Sans said slipping through a group of humans, who yelped in surprise. No one expected a skeleton, especially a living one monster or not.
OoOoO
Today Skull had gone out without his usual leather outfit, a simple blue-purple long sleeve shirt, brown shorts and hiking boots with socks with little red octopus on them and he was ready for the day. If not for the purple hair and eyes, which his flames has dyed years ago (probably whatever event stole his memory too) people wouldn’t have recognized him.
He did pout as he looked younger without his suit, Verde guessed him to be around sixteen or seventeen and his growth had gone to normal aging. His age was a bit annoying, as before the curse he guessed he’d been around twenty.
Maybe?
He sighed and pushed those thoughts away, today was a day to relax, a day without Mafia or Flames.
He hoped so anyway, because Murphy’s law seemed to like to curb stomp him some day's. Like the fact his choker broke and he ran out of some things eh needed for it... somehow, so he was stuck using sign language or writing or typing on a cell to talk.
And... once again he was seeing glowy yellow stars.
Shopping Centre – Saved
How was this his life.
Ten minutes later he crashed into someone.
And hello Mr Murphy, he met his first monster.
OoOoO
Sans had been exploring after leaving Toriel at the hotel at a local shopping area when he felt it, the tint shift of time-space magic that signalled a save star. Chara, the weed and Frisk.
Since Frisk was the only one who still had the ability when they went missing, of course he quickly started in the direction he felt it.
He had no clue how he’d run into the humans, after all humans seemed to move out of his way still nervous about his rare type of monster. Really, there was only himself and Paps left.
Well and Gas—r... stupid void erasure.
“You alright there kid?” He asked easily getting up, spotting the human that had walked into him.
Purple hair and eyes, make up on face and slightly dusty clothing from bouncing to the floor.
The time-space... was coming from this kid.
The kid held up a cellphone and typed on it.
Thanks. Sorry didn’t know if you knew sign language was on the screen.
“Nah I’m good, learned it years ago,” Sans replied.
Sorry for running into you, got sidetracked the purple haired teen said.
“Happens kid. Anyway I’m Sans the Skeleton,” Sans said.
Call me Skull the kid signed.
This was getting more and more interesting, and he couldn’t wait to find out how the kid has Frisks power.
Maybe Frisks kid?
Chapter 3: I can see it
Somehow Skull ended up showing Sans around the Shopping centre and the area, which ended up them stopping at a local eatery called the Big Dunk of all things. Sans seemed to think it was funny, making puns about it.
Mind you, he said a lot of puns all the time.
He probably drove a lot of people nuts with them.
Meh... Skull didn’t mind, he used third person speaking to drive Reborn and the others crazy.
He might not like Violence, but he would get some bits of revenge on them.
“Hotdogs,” Sans said happily.
And then drank the ketchup.
That drew some stares.
Skull hummed and bit into one of his two bagels, one toasty with garlic butter and the other a strawberry jam. He definitely had to come back here before he left Japan again, he had a few things on his blimp to adjust for his older body now that he was no longer cursed.
“Not many monsters locally, think i felt two other then Toriel and myself,” Sans said, Skull idly wondered here the food went as he had no internal organs. Must be a magical thing.
Haven’t met or seen them yet, most of you guys seem to stick together. Your my first monster to meet Skull signed cheerfully.
“True, we haven’t really travelled much since we got free. Most are just nervous of humanity,” Sans relied.
There loss Skull sighed.
‘Not another one’ Skull thought, giving a small glare to a glowing star ten feet away he’d just noticed.
Those things were weird.
“So you can see them,” Sans said, blinking Skull looked at Sans to see him also looking at the Star thing also.
I thought I was seeing things Skull said frowning.
“Lets... go somewhere a bit more private kid,” Sans said, they finished there food the slipped away.
OoOoO
In the end they ended in a small park that wasn’t as well trimmed as it should, it looked like it was left for nature to take over. Perfect for a private conversation.
Skull the strangely purple haired eyed and haired teen, was sitting on the stump of a cut down tree.
“So... those things are called save stars,” Sans said.
Sounds like video game save spots Skull signed.
“Pretty much work like one too,” he said, Skull froze and stared at him for a few minutes.
The universe doesn’t work like that Skull protested.
“It does if you can see them, especially if you can touch them. I can see but not touch,” Sans said wiggling his bone hand, Skulls skin was going rather pale.
I’m.. I’m not...I can’t do this right now Skull said jumping to his feet, and sped off into the trees.
“Wait Kid!” Sans called, but Skull was to far to reply.
“Damn it... he’s my only clue on Frisk too,” he moaned to himself, better not tel Toriel till he had a lead he could count on.
OoOoO
Skull was relived when he got on his motorbike still at the mall, and then quickly sped off away from Sans.
Sans... and the save star.
He had to stop several miles down the road due to blurring eyesight.
Why was he crying?

Food for Thought
How Old is Papyrus? Part One
(This FfT is tagged “Reader is River Person AU”. Part Two will contain an entirely different headcanon and will be tagged “No Multiverse No AUs”.)
This headcanon actually took root in my mind when I read Chapter Five of Euryd1ce’s “Dead Ends” on AO3. This wasn’t the first time I read a fic that suggested Papyrus wasn’t just younger than Sans, but actually young himself, and yet something about a small exchange of lines in that chapter rang a bell that apparently just can’t be unrung:
“hey, it’s almost bedtime for a certain babybones….”
“STOP CALLING ME THAT, I’M A GROWNBONES!!!”
I probably would have waved off Sans’ line as teasing or just the author’s headcanon, but Papyrus’s defensive reaction reminded me of some of his interactions and behaviors in the timeline of the game. From what I understand, most of the UnderTale fandom agrees that Sans is older than Paps--although there are a few that think otherwise and some fanfic writers Swap the ages when they do the attitudes--but let’s go ahead and further examine the question of “how old is Papyrus?”.
A lot of the evidence I brought up in my Food for Thought concerning Muffet’s age also holds true for Papyrus:
Teenagers do not wear stripes. This actually stretched out into two points in Muffet’s post, but that’s because I went more in-depth there and counted the Confirmed Teens in Snowdin and the Possible Teens of HotLand separately.
He doesn’t have a job. I’m going to repeat myself just to make sure it sinks in properly: Papyrus--a WORKAHOLIC skeleton with a sweet, cheerful and energetic disposition who loves to help people and who’s older brother knows pretty much everyone everywhere in the Underground and has a generally friendly rapport with a decent amount of Snowdin residents--doesn’t have an actual job. His sentry station is made of cardboard and the “lazybones” older brother pays all the bills.
In addition to the Muffet-relevant evidence...well, for starters I’ll just go ahead and copy-paste from a list I already reblogged: “Monster Kid can’t tell if Papyrus is a kid or an adult.” More in the same vein as the line that got me thinking about this to begin with, Papyrus’s insistence to not laugh at his brother’s jokes and saying anime is for “babybones” when Undyne mentions it in his presence implies to me that he’s somewhere in that “big kids need to be cool” phase and probably not any older than the average college kid (to clarify since there’s more mature students nowadays, I’m thinking early twenties is the limit--and a bit of a stretch, at that).
Meanwhile the clothes we see him wear whenever he’s not in his Battle Body and Sans reading car magazines--and actually getting him a freakin’ car in the PaciFrisk ending--tells me he’s definitely not any younger than a high-schooler. But, like I said in the Muffet post, that might not mean anything, year-wise. We don’t know the rate skeleton monsters age at or how long their “adolescence” lasts.
Even Papyrus and Undyne’s history and interactions with each other support this theory: If Papyrus was a little kid she could have told him he was too young to join, but as a teen--even if he technically is too young at the time--that excuse wouldn’t work for long. If Papyrus was an adult with work experience, he could probably be given a job in training recruits--he has amazing control over his attacks and even Undyne concedes that his combat ability is more than enough to join the guard--or trap design and maintenance.
What does this mean for AUs?
(For the sake of my sanity, I’m going to restrict this to what I’ve seen some Headcanon Blogs refer to as the Main AUs (Fell, Swap, and the combo); partially because they tend to affect characters’ long-term attitudes and behavior rather than just their immediate situations/appearance/location.)
UnderFell has a lot of interpretations--which is probably why UF!Sans BittyBones come in two different types: Edgy and Cherry--but if we apply the idea that every AU character bears the same SOUL as the original version, it helps narrow things down. (Theoretically. I mean, what it narrows down to really depends on what traits you headcanon to be a SOUL-level part of that character’s personality rather than an environment-influenced attitude.)
(You might have noticed that much like how I always tag Undyne-related posts with “Undyne the Unpredictable” regardless of the AU, Sans is always tagged “Judge Jester” (for non-punny reasons) and Papyrus is always tagged “Stubbornly Optimistic Skeleroll” (even in AUs where the optimism is more stubborn than the optimist, like a so-called “cynic” who just can’t hide their squishy side). I tag them like this because a lot of my AU headcanons are centered around the theory that those particular traits never change in the skelebros.)
Whatever flavor you prefer your UnderFell AU--sweet, salty, tsundere or sadistic--if Papyrus is a teenager, than image is everything. In tamer versions, this probably results in what is pretty much Tale!Paps going through a “tough guys are cool” phase. The more violent ones give him even more reason to build an intimidating reputation--preservation (of himself, his brother or both of them). His willingness to part with this facade--even in private--probably varies with the intensity of the AU and/or how thoroughly his Sans managed to keep him sheltered from possible danger. Or he might keep it up just to look cool regardless. It is Papyrus.
Now, when it comes to the Swap-verses (UnderSwap, SwapFell, FellSwap), I’d like to point out that I do not think the skelebros’ ages should be Swapped along with their attitudes. EvagreenEmerald does a pretty good job of explaining why Sans might take on such a cheerful and energetic attitude, even as the older brother, in “We’ll be Magnificent” on AO3. Combining this with my headcanon that Swap!Queen Toriel is more of a pragmatist than Tale!King Asgore and probably actually taking measures to prepare for a war gives Sans even more reasons to try keep Papyrus as happy and hopeful as possible.
Some members of the UnderTale fandom take notice of Tale!Paps having trouble making friends and literally using a manual to navigate social situations and translate that into Swap!Paps having some degree of social anxiety (which I find best illustrated in a fanart by platypuspapyrus whose tumblr deactivated a while back--if you know the pic I’m talking about and where I can find it again to reblog it, please let me know) and hiding it behind the calm, laid-back attitude that was Swapped from Tale!Sans. This makes sense regardless of age group.
But if UnderSwap Papyrus is a teenager, we might see some parallel of the casual, semi-detached interactions Tale!Sans has with random citizens of various regions due to having classmates, acquaintances from before the skelebros moved to Snowdin, or just from being dragged around and introduced by his more-social(?) brother whenever his Sans is too worried to leave him alone or just wants to take him somewhere and try to cheer him up (considering how much Sans gushes over Papyrus in UnderTale, I definitely see Swap!Sans dragging his Paps around for such reasons so long as he isn’t the type to get grumpier/more depressed from having to leave the house).
Also, the whole “doesn’t have an actual job” thing probably gives him more time to keep his “protect the human” promise if "shortcuts”/teleportation is an ability Sans got from a specific experience instead of something both skelebros have. Or maybe they both have it, but it takes time and practice to master and Papyrus hasn’t reached that point. There’s a lot of room for speculation on that subject.
Because SwapFell/FellSwap is essentially a hybrid AU of the previous two, poor, poor Papyrus has some combination of the experiences, insecurities and habits of his Fell and Swap counterparts. This gives him two major goals in his day-to-day life: Look scary. Panic internally. Doing so externally may be a death sentence. Socially or otherwise, depending on the AU interpretation. Aside from that--and the other things I already discussed in the UnderFell and UnderSwap portions--I just feel the need to point out that in my headcanons, his Sans always seems to be the most (over?)protective of the Sanses. Huh.
...This post ended up a lot longer than I thought it would be.

Please describe your character’s family dynamics. Cooper’s birth mother died when he was in preschool. He has vague memories of her, and it’s sad sometimes, but it’s nothing too deep-rooted in his soul. He was young enough when his father remarried that he considers Rebecca just as much of a mother to him as his own would have been. Cooper and his father have their ups and downs, especially recently. And his brothers are just that --- his brothers. Even though they technically have different mothers, they were raised together. Overall, Cooper would have to say the Andersons were much closer when they were all younger.

Negative Traits. Condescending, competitive, arrogant, critical, (somewhat) insecure.
Star Sign. Leo.
Likes. His own face, being the center of attention, performing, meeting new people, different accents and languages, Italian food, cars, football, music.

If your character is currently employed:
Occupation. Drama Teacher
Place of Work. Orchard Park High
Character Development
Plans for Development.
I can see Cooper starting to struggle with something like alcohol abuse when the pressure of going back to LA and being famous starts to weigh down on him. He’ll have that “I’m not getting any younger” mentality and while he’ll keep up appearances around everyone else, it will be a personal struggle that maybe his brothers or someone particularly close to him will notice as it actually becomes a problem.
I really want him to find the success he wants, but maybe it won’t be exactly what he’s expecting. He wants to be the greatest and have some amazing groundbreaking role causing him to skyrocket to fame instantaneously, but I think he would be better off with something he can work through and take seriously, and he’ll learn a lot about patience and actual hard work, not just skating by on his looks and charm.
I also want to see him develop better relationships with his brothers, beyond just treating them with ‘tough love’ and always trying to remain big-brotherly. Cooper loves fully and truly, but his own deep-rooted need to be better causes him to show it in strange ways. I want that to be cracked. They gotta be brothers and bros, man.
Other. N/A
Character Biography
DEATH TW
If there’s one thing that Cooper has always been sure about, it’s that he’s destined for greatness. And he has to say it was never particularly difficult. Shakespeare even said that some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. Cooper was lucky enough to have been graced with some combination of all three. He was born into wealth, which automatically allowed for more opportunities later in life (don’t bug him about it — that’s just the way it works, okay?). When his mother died and his father remarried, he ended up with two younger half-brothers who he felt pressured to set an example for.
When it came to achieving greatness, being a prominent family with money to spare meant a lot of things came easy to each of the Andersons, but Cooper still had to work for some of it. He talked a lot as a kid. He couldn’t stand not being the center of attention, whether at school or at home, and he found ways to stand in the spotlight. He got good grades and excelled in his activities throughout childhood and teens, spending too much time working to overshadow his brothers while consistently giving them tough love. He wanted them to reach their highest potential like he planned to reach his. Working his way up in the world meant being the best. It almost always seemed like Cooper was putting on some sort of show. Wherever he went, he brought a winning smile, seemingly never-ending charm, and a whole lot of smooth talk to get him through rough patches. So, in every sense of the word, Cooper Anderson is a born and bred product of greatness.
There have been a few bumps in the road. He went from San Francisco to the heart of LA as soon as he had a chance --- he believes college is a waste of time, after all (his father will disagree, and Cooper knows there’s been a wedge between them since he made the decision to skip it altogether). People told him his entire life that he was made for movies and TV and would be a big star someday, and of course Cooper agreed with them. It seemed like nothing in his life had ever gone wrong; he was generally endearing and attractive and bursting with talent, so this surely wasn’t going to be the first time in his life that he would fail.
And he didn’t, not really — things went well. Cooper got plenty of auditions. The first legitimate role he landed had him as the official face of a credit report site, singing a catchy jingle in commercial after commercial. It was a good gig. They kept bringing him back for updated versions and people started to recognize him everywhere. But he had a moment in his mid twenties where he realized he was going to be known as ‘the credit report guy’ for the rest of his life, and that wasn’t what he wanted. He was supposed to be great, and instead he had people on the streets asking him to sing about checking their credit score online.
This led him to decide to take a break from acting. He needed to allow himself a clean slate. Then he could come back to it and be even bigger and better. He sauntered on over to Florida, following in his little brothers’ footsteps, keeping a cool head and pushing his shoulders back to remind himself that it was only temporary. He was better than this. Eventually, he’d have something to show for it. But he’s still in that small town far from LA and working as a drama teacher. Maybe all those open mic nights he does will pay off soon, but he’s starting to get nervous.
Here’s the thing about Cooper, though: he’ll never let that part of him show. It’s not so much about bottling things up. It’s more of a “fake it till you make it” mentality. He won’t admit it, but his parents’ wealth and renown is a little intimidating to him, just enough for him to not want to be a major disappointment when he swore he’d succeed. And there are his brothers, who he’s tried to stay a step above for their entire lives; of course he’s always known that they’re both destined for greatness in their own way, and Cooper’s pride has him terrified of being “less than.”
So he keeps that smile he’s had from day one and smooth talks his way into opportunities and out of relationships without leaving too much of a mess behind. His legacy as the face of a brand can’t last forever. But in such a small town, it sure feels like it.

Character Biography
Blaine grew up in one of the most well known families in the Bay area. He’d never minded, though. Blaine loved the spotlight, and with everything they were taught he had no problem conforming to the family rules. His parents were always supportive of him and his passions, so he never felt confined. He also would admit that the status the Anderson name offered him was often appreciated. While he wasn’t full of himself, it did make things easier.
Blaine was often found either idolizing his older brother or chasing after his younger. The Andersons are an incredibly close family, and Blaine felt that begin to fray in his teen years and it scared the hell out of him. Blaine replies heavily on other people for support and affection, so the thought of losing touch with any of his family is extremely scary to him.
His sexuality was never really something that caused him much strife. Being an Anderson did mean it was met with more eyes, and he did go through a bit of bullying among the more elite circles, but nothing he couldn’t take. He’d always been proud of who he is, and he doesn’t mind if other people simply don’t understand, that’s not his problem.
Blaine fell in love with music and acting very early on. He’s been the drama kid his entire life. He was in every school production and town play he could find. He also often sang and played piano at talent shows or open mic nights. It’s what he loves and he’s good at it. It’s not his ultimate goal, though. What Blaine wants more than anything is to be a stay at home dad.
Blaine took two gap years after high school. He spent one at home, and the other he went travelling around the States, seeing what other towns had to offer in a way of his passions. Eventually he decided he wanted to return to school, though. He went to school for a couple years at home. But, when he heard Cane was moving to Florida he couldn’t help but fall into that old habit of chasing him around. Now he goes to Orchard Park Community College.
