Lakan, the famed military strategist being gently scolded by his uncle. Lumen talking to him like he’s a child throwing a temper tantrum.

Luomen: Lakan, what have I told you about playing nice with other kids(gesturing toward jinshi and Gaoshun)

Lakan: b-but uncle

Luomen: no buts young man, now I want you to apologize and try asking for help again, politely this time

Apothecary Diaries Fic Idea: High Class

Knowing how characters in names work, Fengxian realises that Loumen is La clan. As a result of her trusting him earlier than canon and Loumen sending her letters to Lakan unlike his actual father in canon, Fengxian doesn’t get sick, go crazy and cut of her daughter’s bloody finger. Once Lakan returns, he buys her and Maomao out from the brothel, and marries Fengxian.

But We want fun reveals, sooooooo when she’s five or so, Maomao is kidnapped because she’s, y’know, the grand commander’s daughter. They get her back in one piece, but after a second attempt that ends in a close call, something has to be done.

They send Maomao to live with Loumen, where she gets her canon hyperfixation for poisons and spends time with those in the brothel, using it as an excuse for her parents.

Her parents would obviously keep in contact with letters and stuff as well. Their doting on her means one could make the argument of Maomao having a figure more like her mother or grandmother. She’d naturally hide herself with slouching, wrapping her chest and her usual freckles.

Hiding her away from high society works for like twelve years, until canon comes knocking.

Spoilers for apothecary diaries episode 20 season 2

We have been spoiled with this episode. A maomao bit and a Jinshi bit wow.

i'm using this post to kind of take notes during my second watch so if it's a bit disorganized that's why

ok so first they mention a previous apothecary, since we now also know that suirei is in fact not the daughter of the servant and the doctor (i really thought she was) and since i by checkov's gun still believe that that information was important, it might be that the previous apothecary was that doctor although i have 0 evidence for that

ALSO WE GOT CONFORMATION THAT SHISUI IS LOULAN ANNSJSUSBDBDJSBSJDU YIPPY

Oh and i forgot the opening, i skipped the opening. has the mask that maomao dropped always been gray???? because it finally makes sense why that circle maomao stands in is green and red it's a hint too the colorblindness

also seeing that loulan is colorblind i'm guessing that shishou was gonna use being colorblind as some sort of "actually i'm closer to the first mother so i should rule the country" bullshit

(the reason i don't doubt that shishou is colorblind is that the to me most famous red green colorblindness is on the X chromosome, since in basic cases woman have two of those they have a spare of that gen and since in basic cases men have only one they don't have the spare one[this is also why it's more common in men than in woman], this also tells us it's recessive so for shisui to have it both her parents must have passed it on to her and since shishou probably only has one X chromosome the trait will be present )

she's so close so close to figuring out jinshi's identity and then just nevermind that's not what's important right now, GIRL

also maomao being again distracted by medicine... like it's really good from a story perspective because it czments her character but GIRL

also love how her disinterest in studying anything outside of medicine comes to bite her in the butt, it makes her feel more alive that she doesn't magical know everything

also kyou-u 's mother is what???? what up with the people in lady shenmei's room, why is she drugging them???? do those children come from the people in lady shenmei's room? why is she doing this???? what was kyou-u about to say??? why can't i find him between the characters on the wiki????

now the part with jinshi

WE GET TO SEE 3 !!!!!! 3 NEW SIDES OF LAKAN (stern father, nephew and servant)

also the way lahan is like "ah dammit my father is upset time to call in the big guns" abd then brings loumen like this should calm him down is hilarious

and the way lakan is pressuring jinshi to take actions, pressing jinshi's buttons is just amazing

the switch from angry father to flustered nephew when loumen casually strolls in is so funny and jinshi's shocked face + lahan completely out of breath is just hilarious

jinshi's judging face "exchange? i didn't say anything bitch"

oh and the ending is so beautiful we're gonna get to see the moon prince next episode (probably i avoid watching the newt episode part)

Fengxian also has a very typical Asian body.

Her high price was due to her personality and unbeatable ways.

The fact that MaoMao has no "assets" is because she is 17.

Asain women like FengXian who when she had MaoMao was in her early 20s do grow alittle more as you can see.

MaoMao is young.

She very typical Asain and this is just my opinion add based on past Mangaka but she likely based on the author herself.

Furthermore the La Clan hasn't even shown a natural born women in its ranks.

The two Lahan talked to are not of the clan they are Yao the physician and her Attendant that work with MaoMao later on.

This is the manga hasn't not be anime adapted yet.

But based on most of MaoMao features her and her Mother and regular Asain build and use their intelligence more then body.
