Galaxycon Louisville 2019 Art Haul
Disclaimer: I’ve put watermarks on the artwork to discourage art theft. Please don’t copy/repost work from artists. Go to their pages and share or buy their work directly! I’ve made it super easy by including links to all of their webpages. To the artists I’m spotlighting: if for any reason you want to be removed from this post you need only ask.
I think we could sub-title this con “when Joi sees Good Omens or Dragons they loose their ever-loving mind!” lol
I want to state again how very chatty and friendly this con was. This was my second? year attending the Louisville con and by the end of both days I was so hoarse form all the chit-chatting. Celebs, fellow crowd-goers, and artists... Everyone seemed to be very cheerful and ready to connect. I’ve been to cons that have felt comfortable and I’ve been to some that felt a little hostile. But, this was, by far, the friendliest.
Friday I spent all day wandering Artist Alley with @anafiassa, chatting with anyone and everyone we made eye contact with. Including the following artists:
Kahahuna She had Crowley and Aziraphale Christmas ornaments that I’m kinda kicking myself for not investigating further.
RatCork Art and Illustration Honestly, I wanted all of this artist’s prints... She was the only one I sought out the second day because I decided I wanted the one on the right, too.
Please pardon the glare on the photos and go check out the artist’s website: Anime Gravy I mean, really... An Ace Unicorn? How could I resist?? Let me tempt you: there’s an axolotl under the link!
I have never, not even once, before seen Alton Brown fanart. I didn’t even realize that it was missing in my life until I saw it. All of Corrine’s art is so whimsical and happy I want to crawl into it and live there. So much so that I actually got a calendar for next year from her so I can have her artwork around all year long. (She even left off putting a hole to hang the calendar so you can frame it when the year is up!) Please, do yourself a big favor and check out all of her art on her website.
Robin Overton had so many sketches at his booth that it’s hard to choose! I’m hoping to run in to him at a con later on to get more. For now, I went with Carol (because I don’t see much fanart for her!) and Wonder Woman. lol Check out Robin’s website for more: The Black and White Guy.
I was delighted to run in to @mimosastudio again at this con. I just bought a bunch of buttons and pins from her at Cincinnati Comic Expo. I think I’ll probably get a handful more every time I come across her booth. Mimosastudioart
Last, but not at all least, I can’t be at a con with David Lee Pancake without stopping by to chat with him and his wife (his wife had lunch with us! love her) and picking up another little friend.
