And as Blake McClain said Peter never is resolved musically and melodically, it doesn't have a resolution, it doesn't go away. Like it's never done.
also
Just Kids, Patti Smith's Biography of her time with Robert Maplethorpe is referred to in loml, and Patti in Tortured Poets Department also refers to her and Robert as Peter and Wendy. Robert and Patti are lovers, life partners and artists. Robert came out years into their relationship but they remained muses, collaborators, friends and partners in an open relationship of sorts. The reference is not just of a commitment to youth and freedom of Peter Pan but of a museship and deep connection where traditional relationship structures dictate there should no longer be one.
Of her childhood Patti says she is of the clan of Peter, not Peter or a lost boy, like a destined disciple:
“Hot or not, it’s time you started wearing a shirt. You’re about to become a young lady.” I protested vehemently and announced that I was never going to become anything but myself, that I was of the clan of Peter Pan and we did not grow up.
In the Chelsea Hotel (also in TTPD) Patti likens herself to Wendy to Robert (Peter) and the Lost Boys their artist community:
Although we spent most of our time together, we weren’t isolated. Our friends would come to visit. Harvey Parks and Louis Delsarte were painters; sometimes they worked on the floor next to us. Louis did portraits of us both, Robert with an Indian necklace and one of me with closed eyes. Ed Hansen shared his wisdom and collages and Janet Hamill read us her poems. I would show my drawings and tell stories about them, like Wendy entertaining the lost children of Neverland. We were a crew of misfits, even within the liberal terrain of an art school. We often joked that we were a “losers’ salon.”
and later in life, of a benefactor of Robert having unrequited affection for Robert, Patti describes his sorrow as chasing Peter (Robert's) shadow.
On the surface, John’s sorrow could be attributed to unrequited love, but the more time I spent with him, the deeper consideration seemed to be John’s inexplicable self-loathing. John couldn’t have been more ebullient, curious, and loving, so I couldn’t imagine why he suffered such a low opinion of himself. I did my best to console him, but could not offer him any solace; Robert’s view of him would never go beyond friend and mentor. In Peter Pan, one of the Lost Boys is named John. Sometimes he seemed so to me, a pale and wispy Victorian boy ever chasing after Pan’s shadow.
And this reminded me of Guilty As Sin? when Patti and Robert first arrive at the Chelsea Hotel after Robert is lost
“We’re going to make it, Patti,” he said. We promised that we’d never leave one another again, until we both knew we were ready to stand on our own. And this vow, through everything we were yet to go through, we kept. “Chelsea Hotel,” I told the driver, fumbling through my pockets for change, not completely certain I could pay him.
It's a really good book by the way, I chose it from the loml reference and was not expecting it to add such depth to Peter.
This is not a refound connection that dwindled for a decade, of longing, it is an active museship, an important person in Taylor's life with no on paper role but muse and a deep shared love and respect.

Oh, hey, “Peter” is not only a waltz, it’s the only waltz on The Tortured Poets Department. And the only song that mentions a waltz is “loml,” in the line, “who’s gonna stop us from waltzing back into to rekindled flames if we know the steps anyway?”
Peter is Harry. Ergo, the loss of her life is Harry.

Joyous Kwanzaa! Today marks the first day of Kwanzaa, a weeklong celebration of Black Americans' ancestral roots in Africa. The name of the secular holiday is derived from the Swahili phrase meaning “first fruits of the harvest.”

Throughout the MTA network, from the Bronx to Long Island, lies a treasure trove of permanent public artworks that honor and uplift Black history and culture. In celebration of Black History Month, MTA Arts & Design curated a selection of artwork --  from Faith Ringgold's flying figures of Harlem notables such as Malcolm X and Zora Neale Hurston at the 125 St station, to the vibrant dancers celebrating the annual West Indian American Day Parade, portrayed by Louis Delsarte at the Church Av station in Flatbush, to the exuberant brush strokes by Moe Brooker for the LIRR parking garage at Wyandanch, reflecting the jazz culture in the surrounding community where musicians, such as John Coltrane, made their homes. Experience these myriad glass, mosaic, and metal artworks firsthand or explore virtually at new.mta.info/bhm, as each piece highlights a unique facet of Black history and culture in its surrounding community.
