i was talking with a friend about why it is that we find the hocotate ship and Olimar's interactions so great compared to any other dynamic he has in all the games, and it sorta answered itself over time.
I think it was in a vc that they mentioned that it would be very funny if Collin had a single clue to how scummy Olimar can be and not "a really forgiving guy who gets pushed around and has serious mental problems but passive". Like even with Louie- Olimar sees to it that he apologizes to him for snapping or even asking the forgiveness of others on his behalf. With his own boss he contemplates on the fact that if he had died then maybe work could have been better for others around him and it is his fault for surviving. Even with his own family he would never fault them for any hardships and somehow always pin the blame on himself. All the cured leaflings described him to be kind and determined to save them despite being taken over by the pikmin parasite. Even the koppaites feel sorry for him despite the stereotypes dividing them at first
But you know who he doesnt regret being as scummy towards ? THE FUCKING HOCOTATE SHIP !! that ship doesnt coddle him or pity him in the same way others do and instead sasses back with the same energy. He is soo genuine and transparent when talking about that ship its so good to read those two interact because you dont NOT see that with anyone else

Changing all of this so have a lil cut snippet of GardenParty Scrooge and Matilda <3 🌸
Louie followed her finger to the crowd weaving in and out around the maypole.
Scrooge, looking ever the same, was laughing heartily. In the warm summer afternoon, he’d ditched his thick red coat in favor of rolled-up shirtsleeves and a crisp scarlet waistcoat, his pale trousers making him look brighter than Louie’d ever seen him. A bright yellow flower even stuck out of the brim of his top hat. He kept looking over his shoulder, calling out something before laughing again, and when he reached out his hand, a woman Louie’d never seen before took it.
Her hair was short, just curling around her chin, and her grin was bright. A crown of flowers hung crooked and slipped dangerously low down her head as the woman’s dress moved like the ribbons overhead. She laughed, shoving Scrooge with her shoulder and together they spun through the group as the ribbons messily braided themselves around the pole above.
Louie frowned. Not that he expected it, but he scanned the rest of the grounds quickly for a crown of gold hair to no avail. But no, Scrooge wasn’t looking at this woman the way he did Goldie. He flung her by the hand too hard, elbows jostled ribs too hard, palms shoved cheeks roughly.
Louie watched the woman purposefully and masterfully trip Scrooge, sending him careening into another guest.

Hey, boring anon! Louis is the most princessy rockstar princess of the princess world, I don’t know what to tell you 🤷‍♀️
Like seriously, unclench and have fun. I’m sick of the louies like this, they move like larries (who only want their actual fav h to be called cute feminine nicknames). Every time I see one of those Louies, I want to tell them they’re acting like larries, whose behaviors you should never want to be associated with
it’s ridiculous because i feel like these weirdos have never been in any other fandom before, it’s completely normal to call your fav with cute little names in every single fandom out there, and you don’t see anyone making a big deal out of it… these freaks must not have any real friends either

Louie isn’t evil.
Or: what Pikmin 4 tells us about his character.
BIG WARNING FOR PIKMIN 4 SPOILERS! (and the rest of the series)
———
I want to preface this by saying that I am in no way trying to be the end-all, be-all of character interpretations, but Pikmin 4 to me, at least, confirms the suspicions I’ve had since playing Pikmin 2 and 3 all those years ago that Louie ISN’T secretly evil, or possessed, or whatever else. He’s just… Louie. And I think that’s interesting in and of itself.
1. Olimar himself vouches for him, and clearly doesn’t think he’s a bad person.
Tumblr media
Say what you will, but I’m inclined to think Olimar is a decent judge of character. Clearly he’s worked with Louie for enough time to see that while he’s not very good at his job, he’s not intentionally so— at least not in a malevolent way (will get more into this later). He also wants you to forgive him for Olimar’s sake, which can be read as self-sacrificing (as Olimar is known to be) but I also think hints at the soft spot he has for Louie.
It's also worth noting that he states during a end-of-day conversation that he told Louie that, since he's a new employee, he should do everything Olimar does... including throw castaways into the onion. Interesting that Louie took this so literally, but it does provide an explanation for why he kidnapped the Koppaites beyond "he's evil and crazy".
2. He really, REALLY loves his grandma.
Tumblr media
Like, wow. He talks about her SO MUCH both in his Piklopedia entries and also elsewhere in the game. It's interesting. Worth noting is that he never mentions any other family members- unlike Olimar, who talks about his wife and each of his children independently. I've said this before, but the content of a lot of these entries implies to me that Louie was mainly raised by his grandma, likely since birth. And given some of her emails in Pikmin 2, assuming they're also canon to Pikmin 4's timeline... Well, Louie certainly had an interesting upbringing. But he clearly loves her all the same.
3. He has a mischievous streak and tends to do things on impulse.
Tumblr media
This was already fairly obvious from the previous games, but I think it's worth noting that this game confirms that he's... would immature be the right word? In any regard, he doesn't seem to see himself as a "grown-up"- when in all likelihood he is. Personally, as a 22-year-old, I find that pretty relatable as I often think of myself as younger when in reality I am by all definitions an adult. This, along with his grandma still being around, makes it pretty much certain that Louie is a lot younger than Olimar and the president, likely in his early to mid twenties. Being a bit of a goofball isn't really out of the ordinary, all things considered.
Tumblr media
THAT BEING SAID, he's clearly capable of practicing self-restraint when he wants to. What he says here about the red Pikmin is pretty significant, since we know he's willing to eat just about anything- but clearly he has some reservations about creatures that are friendly and helpful. Which leads to...
4. He loves dogs and fluffy things.
Tumblr media
Same. But he doesn't even consider eating Moss, Oatchi or the Ancient Sirehound, showing that his creature-eating habits stop at things he recognizes as useful. He clearly also holds affection for things that are soft and fuzzy, and says as much.
5. He is so autism.
Tumblr media
He plays with fidget toys. He loves certain textures and sounds. This guy is stimming all over PNF-404!!! I think this also lends some explanation for why his behavior is what it is- things like taking Olimar's suggestion to do as he does super literally even after crashing on an alien planet, his hyperfixation on cooking and tendency not to communicate and incorrectly interpret situations (thinking the Koppaites are kidnappers in 3, running away from you in 4). He could even be low or no empathy as well, explaining why it takes a hot minute to get him to understand why people are upset with him about something.
Interestingly this game also makes it clear that Louie wants to live on the planet, or at least thought he did while you were chasing him down, which makes a lot of sense when you consider that he doesn't really seem to fit in back on Hocotate. I, too, wish to run away to an alien world with all of the things that I like and no other people, so I get you, Louie.
6. He hates his boss and his job, and the golden pikpik carrot incident was likely premeditated.
Tumblr media
This probably looks bad, but honestly? As a fellow work-hating anti-capitalist schmuck I get it. The president is for all intents and purposes a huge asshole, from sending Olimar straight back to the planet after selling his ship to not caring that Louie got left behind, just wanting to find the rest of the treasures. I doubt he is very kind to his employees, and doesn't seem very good at running the business. Definitely a funny character, but if he were my boss I would absolutely want to punt him into the sun.
From some other entries he clearly wants to sell certain things to accrue money, but it's for things like getting better kitchen tools and following his dream to have his own cooking show. Clearly being a freight driver isn't what Louie actually wants to do with his life, and he could not give less of a shit about what happens to the company. Very short-sighted on his part, but also again, yeah I get you Louie.
7. He... doesn't like the color red for some reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, I'm not even really sure what to make of this. Is it because it reminds him of the Hocotate ship? Or does he just not like the color? Would be very interesting considering that it's Olimar's signature color. Perhaps that's at least part of why he attacks you in Pikmin 2- though that's speculation for another day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also funny to me is his comments on the black-colored treasures. We know blue is his favorite color, but I guess he's also a bit of a goth at heart. Lol.
In conclusion.
I think Louie isn't written or intended to be evil, and Pikmin 4's portrayal of him was intentionally written to confirm this. He's just, as some have said, an agent of chaos, but that doesn't make him a bad person. Just an autistic 20-something working a shitty job he doesn't care about, who loves his grandma and has a mischievous streak and a hyperfixation on food. At least from what I can interpret, ymmv!

Seeing your Della HCs, got any for Donald or HDL?
I don't want to expend as much energy into a headcanons post on other characters, but I can briefly go over queer and neurodiverse headcanons for Donald and HDL (and if anyone wants to know more for other characters, feel free to send in asks)
Tumblr media
Donald Duck Gender and Sexuality: - Transmasc (FtM) - Top dysphoria and has had top surgery - Low/no bottom dysphoria - He/him - Bisexual with a preference for women Neurodiverse/Mental Health: - Autistic - Struggles a lot with meltdowns and sensory issues - Overlapping noises especially bothers him unless it's music - Hyper empathetic - PTSD (he's a vet)
Huey Duck Gender and Sexuality: - Cis guy - He/him - (Though I do enjoy multi-headcanons and like transfem Huey as well) - Asexual, sex-neutral - Heteroromantic Neurodiverse/Mental Health: - Autistic - Similar to Donald, struggles with meltdowns and autistic rage - Also hyper empathetic like his uncle - Special interests in the Junior Woodchucks, Research, and Romance - General anxiety and social anxiety
Dewey Duck Gender and Sexuality: - Complicated relationship with gender that he doesn't really care to think much about - Amab nonbinary - he loves masculinity on himself, but feels a detachment to heteronormative masculinity and cis men - he/him pronouns (doesn't mind they or she, but prefers he) - Bisexual with small preference for women - Maybe demiromantic - he's still figuring it out Neurodiverse/Mental Health: - ADHD (calls it ADewHD) Hyperactive - ODD in early childhood - develops Borderline Personality Disorder - Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (Hypersexuality) - sorry he's got so many problems - He wants to save everyone but he can't even save himself - The ODD developed from middle kid syndrome which then developed into BPD and with the BPD-ADHD combination then developed CSBD so basically what I'm saying is he is a slew of impulsivity and compulsivity
Louie Duck Gender and Sexuality: - Transmasc (FtM) - he/him (doesn't mind they/them) - Crazy gender dysphoria save him - Homosexual - Aromantic, romance-neutral Neurodiverse/Mental Health: - Anxiety and Depression - ADHD inattentive (formerly called ADD for anyone who doesn't know) - Autism - He's so exhausted 24/7 god save him - Special interest in finances and business and gold - Went down an apathetic to empathetic pipeline - His 'laziness' is a hell combo of depression and ADHD

how do you think what Larusso's relationship would be like! beloved (daniel's oldest daughter in her twenties) and old man! Terry during the Cobra Kai timeline, especially if beloved, was extremely morally similar to Terry? let's say, they "match each others freak." ❤️ I love your blog, especially because I'm also a writer and I love your take on Terry, your in-depth character study of him is terrific, sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language, I'm Brazilian, lots of love from here!
Hello, Brazil! ❤️
Tumblr media
---
Frankly, I think Daniel would just feel downright haunted by one of his kid's proclivities and her character long before Terry ever returns into the picture --- years and years before he does, actually. This is an ongoing process that stems back to the time Mr. Miyagi was still alive; it's like Terry Silver never went away in the first place, notwithstanding the lingering trauma and bad memories that Daniel would have to live with on a daily basis, but that his own daughter is starting to resemble one of his demons from the past in worldviews, personality and behavior now too; it is literally the worst development imaginable. Nothing and nobody in his life is safe. Moving on is impossible when the battlefield is happening under your own roof. This whole city, the passing decades, The Valley itself as a whole and each passing generation feels like it has something of Terry Silver's in them and he's never truly gone. His darkness is stubbornly ever-present.
It's like Terry infected everything, even things and people he never actually touched.
Never came in contact with.
Never interacted with.
Nonetheless, it is there, finding ways to seep into every pore of his existence like an infection, possibly leading to Daniel being strictest precisely with his oldest daughter in the hopes that he'd steer her away from becoming the way she's becoming to overcompensate for her shortcomings and all the things he's expected of her but that she didn't live up to from his point of view. Something she might take to heart, because what child of their parent's wouldn't? Cause her to feel like she's far from her father's favorite. Like he cares for Sam, Antony and Louie a lot more and that he sees them as 'the good children he can feel proud of' because they're incarnations of everything Mr. Miyagi espoused...unlike her', which couldn't be further from the truth because Daniel would adore his estranged daughter too, but still, his stance towards her would be here causing her to wish to rebel, go against the mold even more and willfully embrace every bad impulse she has even more than ever before because it's hard to reconcile the fact that she's incompatible to her family. That she's distinct. Daniel takes a different approach with his problematic older daughter because he loves her and doesn't want her to grow into a morally questionable person, but is simply so afraid of what he's witnessing in her that his methods might be unbalanced, their root found in fear --- infinite parental concern. Meaning, he might snap, he might yell, he might be judgmental and not always be an exemplary, patient parent, because validly, it's hard to be exemplary when your own kid reminds you so much of a past abuser who messed you up for life. He might take some draconic measures with her too. His belief in pacifism and 'letting go' might just vane as well. What choice does he have? She's starting to resemble...someone he knew a long time ago. Someone he'd rather not speak of anymore. Jesus! He doesn't even want to think about it ever again! Hard not to! When she's right there, at the dinner table, in his own house, his own flesh and blood, someone he adores, someone he would do anything in the world for --- anything but accept that she's going down a negative path. What parent worth his penny would? Should he just allow that without doing anything?
So, when she befriends Terry, of all people?
Becomes a little too close for comfort with him?
It's a nightmare.
It's like watching his life's work and efforts at setting a good example literally collapse and history repeat itself except in an infinitely worse way than could ever be anticipated. Daniel would be convinced Terry Silver has perversely planned this for god knows how long and that getting under the skin of his daughter was premeditated, and heck, knowing Terry, maybe it was too and that this is revenge. Some sort of sick scheme. Grooming. The desire to continue ruining his life by hitting Daniel where it hurts most, even decades after everything that's went down and for the longest time, Daniel would feel like he's the only one who understands the unhinged gravitas of the situation, causing him to feel crazy and all alone in the world, with nobody to get his point of view and how eerie and harrowing Terry being with his daughter actually is, whereas Amanda, for example, wouldn't see the full picture for a good while, her concerns being limited solely to the age difference, but not the actual context under which any of this is happening seeing as how she's not entirely aware of what went down between Terry and Daniel because Daniel didn't tell her. In fact, she might even understand why their daughter likes Terry Silver. He's rich, he's handsome, he's charming, sure, a little sleazy, perhaps, but ultimately the harmless, inoffensive kind of sleazy (ultimately being too old for their daughter). She might even see Daniel freaking out as slightly overblown. He's overreacting. Of course, man's old enough to be her grandfather and it's a reason for concern and intervention but surely, not the amount of panic and crisis Daniel's exhibiting --- except, it makes the whole situation only feel the more dizzyingly infuriating, because that, that guy, right there, is also simultaneously the worst person Daniel knows and he knew quite a lot of those. And now, his own daughter is consorting with him. How does Amanda...just not get it!? He would feel like he's losing his damn mind. Terry Silver ruined so much of his late teenage years and the years that followed, influenced by the lingering trauma and trust issues; the last thing Daniel would allow for him to have his daughter's soul too. This whole discourse might just lead to the Larusso's marriage encountering shaky grounds.
Amanda could easily be taking her daughter's side, because ultimately, she'd see her daughter as a free person (and she'd critically misunderstand how awful this whole thing) is and Daniel would become more and more volatile seeing as how he wouldn't feel empathized with in the least bit. ''It's the man who tortured me when I was just eighteen!'' he'd yearn to scream out. ''He made me believe he was my friend. That he had his best intentions at heart. And then he tortured me and I trusted him, Amanda! He and John Kreese! They did it together! And now, Terry Silver's got his hooks in our daughter and she's letting him! You're telling me to calm down!? I can't calm down!''
Daniel would fight against the situation with all his might.
He'd argue.
He'd get his hands dirty.
He'd ironically show that bit of Cobra Kai he had in him all along.
He'd do things he'd do in no other situation if it meant changing his kid's perspective.
But, he'd under no circumstance accept his daughter being the way she is.
Just like he wouldn't accept her being with the enemy.
Terry Silver can't have his family.
Terry Silver, though? He'd manipulatively and very sweetly expertly exploit this pre-existing rift in the family to masterfully to divide the Larussos even further and get exactly what he wants by being the (seemingly) understanding, concerned supportive shoulder for Daniel's daughter and offering the camaraderie she doesn't feel she ever had at home. He becomes her support network. Her only support network, eliminating everyone else who isn't him because there's 'no matching the freak' of someone who has a couple of decades of experience in malice ahead of you, who fought in a war and who could, effectively, push came to shove, kill and die with relish. Daniel's daughter might think she can go toe to toe with Terry where being chaotic is concerned (and he'd fuel and enable her belief that this is true) but is there really anyone who actually can? Heck, he might even encourage her to keep a good relationship intact with her folks all while effectively sabotaging said relationship purely so he'd seem guiltless in the matter, playing good cop, bad cop accordingly. But, ultimately he's cool! He's awesome! He lovebombs! He lavishes! He's generous! He's seductive! He can give the spoiled Italian princess the life she's used to and so, so, so much more. He takes on whatever mask and personality is best suited for the situation to draw people in! He's older and by extension, probably makes a younger woman feel more mature and 'cool' by comparison too, appealing to whatever mommy and daddy issues are present! He's all about embracing instincts, impulses, holding nothing back which feels liberating to the otherwise Zen and possibly stifling teachings of Mr. Miyagi! He's rich! He's knowledgeable! And he's Terry Silver, which automatically could mean a world of damage. Never doubt the man's an influence that would entirely destroy what little stability's left in this family and turn Daniel's daughter against her father, mom, brothers, her sister and literally everyone she ever knew. In the end, she'd get more than she's ever bargained for. She thought she had control over the situation. She didn't, though.
Her dad would've been correct all along.
Terry Silver corrupts and devours.
Nothing's for free.

Augusnippets Day 25: Intimate Whumper
cw: noncon touch, noncon kiss, restraints
previous
for the @augusnippets challenge // word count: 447
=~=~=
“Lady, c'mon, I'm asking nicely. Don't touch me like that.”
The woman let out a horrendous giggle, her hands trailing down to rest on his hips, making Louie squirm uncomfortably.
“What if I can't help myself?”
“Then I'd love to refer you to a behavioral therapist.”
“Aw, don't be like that.” One hand slid across his stomach, crawling upwards to cup his chest.
“Stop. I'm serious, I don't—”
“What are you going to do about it?”
Louie clenched his jaw. Nothing. She had his hands cuffed behind his back, the stupid little dog collar clipped to a generous two feet of chain, forcing him to stay cross-legged or risk choking himself.
“That's what I thought.” She grabbed his chin, wrenching his face towards hers for a kiss. He wanted to recoil as their lips touched, sheer disgust building within him, but he knew she was the one in control here. If he tried to fight it at all, she'd probably just hurt him again.
The woman seemed annoyed at the way he pulled away.
“What's wrong, love? Don't you find me attractive?”
Fucking hell, was she really taking this as a vanity blow?
She was beautiful, he couldn't deny that; as much his type as any pretty stranger could be. But even before she'd started grabbing at him, she'd made his skin crawl. Probably had something to do with the little kidnapping schtick.
Knowing this weak point, it was probably smarter to kiss up to her. But he was almost more afraid of what that would lead to than the prospect of punishment.
“You got me,” he said. “I think you're disgusting.”
Her shiny red mouth fell open in shock, a manicured hand swatting out to slap him.
Eh. Better than the kisses.
“How dare you!”
“What, would you prefer I lie? I've seen trolls with more charm.” Another truth; with this lady's childish entitlement, the bar was on the floor.
She raised her fist, and Louie closed his eyes, anticipating an enraged flurry of blows. None came.
When he peeked, the woman was smoothing her dress, laughing breathily to herself.
That… was not a comforting sight.
“Sit tight, pet. I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget.”
Louie’s mouth went dry as she turned on her heel and strode through the door, slamming it behind her. He tried to keep his heartbeat in check; as terrifying as the foreseeable future was, he did feel a little bit better. For the first time since his capture, he felt like he'd gotten the upper hand. Found a way to rile up his captor.
He sure hoped it was worth whatever hell she was about to rain down on him.
