A few stonekrovn-related things: 1. Boneslav said Grimjav's first name was a song-related one before he got his jaw busted, but you said he had three; what was the other one? and 2. That little sketch of Loudkill with baby Bone and Grim makes me laugh at how Grimjav just has an "uwu" expression XD
Krovn puppies have one word name, then a full name that might or might not change during their life. Song > Songmouth > Grimjav, Lav > Boneslav

How does boneslav/stonekrovn crew feel about Runi's lack of antlers? Are they familiar with does from other breeds not having them?
They know most types don't have antlered ladies so it's not a surprise. They just deem any antlerless deer crazy vulnerable to violence and think it's very unpractical to not have them.
Since Runi is a confirmed good guy in Loudkill's group, they'd be very protective of her.

(human au drawing) “you think you could save catherine” whose catherine?? sorry if this has been said i looked through the tags but didn’t see anything (sorry,,,)
Lol, it's a quote from Silence of the Lambs, which is what the asker was referencing because Deepdark's voice claim is Hannibal Lecter.
I thought it was fitting for him to say, but if I were to have adapted it to PATFW, it would be "you think you could save poor Longest-Claws..." (or whatever Longest-Claws's human AU name would be).
Stonekrovns are way too cool for Deepdark, he can be jealous of them all he likes. Loudkill would never respect his poser ass.
I honestly think I would stick with Sawsbuck purely because I have never been able to take Stantler seriously. Goofy ass lookin deer.

Hi! I got back from the hashtag rabbit hole I fell into in your blog. In one of the posts I saw you said "Boneslav is very loved in his group, especially because he's different." and thus sprung two questions:
1) Usually animal characters behave like us, so they have a fear or rejection of what's different. Are Stonekrovnes the opposite? Or is it just Bones's family? Or is it just that he was too indescribably cute as a puppy?
2) In the comic Boneslav once said something like "Weak heart gave me sheltered life in the mountain." and his face made me think he felt guilty or something about the special treatment he got, is that true? If so, why?
2.a) I know we haven't really seen much of Loudkill's mouth family dynamics but during that whole chase scene, Boneslav seemed to be treated the same as everyone else. I mean I'm quite ignorant about the condition so I hope this is not too dumb, but if you have a weak heart and you were sheltered, I wouldn't expect your family to let you run around a lot chasing/hunting others down. And when he was granted his quest to go with the gang, nobody seemed especially worried about him or doubted he could do it. So how was he exactly sheltered?
Thank you for your work. 💛
They just thought Boneslav was really cute (like every puppy, but him being tiny made him extra cute), and his runty look just made everyone more protective of him. Stonekrovns are very tightly knit together, big and small.
Boneslav has been shown vaguely embarrassed in multiple scenes so far, and it indeed is because he doesn't want outsiders to think he's coddled or incompetent. Despite his stony face, he wants to keep up appearances.
There's a bonus comic that shows a scene just before the stonekrovns hunt down the pup killer buck. It implies that this is the first time Loudkill takes Boneslav with their task force. That was his first time in front lines, because it's important that he gets to see these things face to face. He doesn't do much hunting, but he does tracking. When Boneslav leaves with the gang, Loudkill doesn't object because stones are very religious and Boneslav has just gotten a quest directly from the Tongue who's closest to god they can meet. Loudkill loves her baby but she knows he's able to take care of himself. She has faith in him, everyone does. It has given Boneslav a great foundation to grow.

I gotta give some props to Earbust for being able to pull a badass like LoudKill
They have the same views but different approaches and that works well for them.

Small side question from all the action in the last few pages, but will we ever get an explanation for Loudkill's scars? I remember back when she was introduced people had a theory that Cutlass had a fight with her and gave her those scars ("I cut a lass once, I can cut a lad too!") but Cutlass and Boneslav seem pretty fine in their meeting with each other, which would mean there wasn't a fight (and therefore grudges)
Sorry if it's a long ask/silly question 😅
This has been theorized a lot, but no, Loud's scars weren't made by Cutlass, and the lass he cut has no weight since stonekrovns cut a lot of things. Scars are common for stonekrovns and they don't have big stories behind them. Loudkill maybe just got someone's brow tines at her face, they could leave a symmetrical mark just like Kasko's scars. Then maybe she cut her ear somewhere and someone had the great idea of making it symmetrical too, for Friday fun.

1-Why do Prue and Gitta want to be God-Callers?
2-Did Helevise really make them lose their halves and their wombs because she played with them?
3-Why don't you teach them how to become a God-Caller?
4-What do she mean they were doomed from start?
5-Why doesn't Eve speak/talking to Antaras?
6-Why is Gitta blaming and bullying Usma as if she had anything to do with what happened? Or she doesn't like Usma's act
7- what do Loudkill mean "Have you"lost your rocks"" "they hung low and hevy"
Who knows! It's a pretty respected title.
Helevise gave them a choice to trade their halv and ability to carry fawns to get a chance at being god-callers. It was a trick to see how they'd choose, and they chose wrong. Refusing to sacrifice their halves would've been the right choice. Helevise lost her last bits of interest to teach them after that.
I'm just the author man
See #2
Who knows
She's jealous Usma is not being shunned as much as Gitta and Prue are.
"You've got some balls/rocks" = "you're overconfident". Last spring the buck was overconfident as he butchered stonekrovn fawns with his buddies, but at the point he was caught, there was no trace of confidence left. There's nothing sexual about her remark and no, the buck did not try to get any ass.

Do you have any particular song for your characters that you would consider thier “themes”?
I have many songs that remind me of the character, but only few that I could consider as their themes.
Nero: Porcelain Pill - Close to the sun Runi: Priscilla Ahn - Dream Usma: Lexie Carroll - the sky looked nice today Boneslav: Mujuice - Юность Antaras: Ramin Djawadi - The night king, RIAYA - Hunter Eve: oOoOO - Seaww Loudkill: Valravn - Krummi
For Kasko, Bruno Major's Places we won't walk has a lot of Kasko-vibe, but it's not really there.

This might sound like a weird compliment and I apologize but I love Boneslav's growly face. Like he felt the need to peel his lips back just to go "See? See my teeth? My chompers?"
Not odd at all, I think pretty much all xenofiction lovers like to look at exposed teeth.
Loud calls everyone to the den the moment she realizes how small her baby is. Everyone must know him. Everyone must know this pup is weak and struggling for life but he's loved, loved and protected by every tooth in Loudkill's mouth.

Deer and halves can communicate, right? I know you said that deer don’t name their halves, but surely their halves must have told their deer what they call themselves at least? Like, they have names, just not ones given to them by deer, right? At some point Runi’s shrike must have turned to her and said “My name is _; I was called that by my parents as a chick.” I’m sorry, I’m just struggling to understand since the halves are never shown talking, even though they can.
They don't communicate in the way like "Hello deer, my name is Bob Bobberton, I like this and dislike this, my hobbies are that and these, there was this huge worm we saw last week and boy did me and my mates laugh at its struggles."
The communication is more about feeling than vocubulary. The deer tune in with halves because they have a connection. They understand them when the birds want to be understood, but what that looks like, we don't know. The only time we've seen a bird straight-up talk in GS was when Karuna spoke through Nero's shrike. It was a mouthpiece.
The birds stopping Loudkill from killing the gang didn't go "hey man they're on a mission", but they did let her know. We don't need to know how!
