i’m not quite sure why people think miike and i are romantically involved? the only time i remember seeing anyone romantic with one another were my two older brothers and their wives! one of my brothers isn’t married yet, but i don’t think miike and i are like them and their wives. plus, who would even be the wife? we’re both boys, and there has to be a wife!!!

The only son to Chester Reeves, how could I not be so very special? Not that the speciality matters to anyone on this godforsaken island. They are greedy. Selfish. Who are you? I don't think we've met quite yet. Face to face, that is. An island messenger, eh? You travel all around this island to deliver messages to boys who couldn't care any less about what each other thinks? The downfall of this place will be a lack of awareness. What others think of you is all that matters. It is what builds reputation. Maybe that's why Alexander is suffering so...

I believe I do recognize you, but not because of your messenger duties. No, that's not it. Ah yes, of course, I recognize you as the boy practically glued to one of my friends. Holland, correct? I have many stories for you about that boy, eh? So timid, isn't he? Blushes at the littlest of brushes against his arm. I'd hate to see what happens to him if you get any closer. Combustion, perhaps. How amusing, I ought to try it sometime.

I suppose if I ever have a message for someone, I will seek you out, but otherwise, I have little to no use for you. Do try to keep Wilbur's sanity in tact, I do need him every now and again. He makes a good step stool. Poor boy would crack his spine in two to listen to what I have to say. He should get a sturdier spine, someone could abuse him so very simply.

Don't think I don't know what you are, Miike. I know that look that you give my good friend Wilbur. It's the same one Shepherd makes for Kikita. Those goo goo eyes do not go unnoticed on me, albiet, they do seem to go unnoticed on Wilbur. Do you not know love? You are about to. You will come to your senses quickly enough. No boy treats someone who is simply a friend that way. The worst thing about love is that it never lasts, eh? At least, not the love that I have seen.

I have met that Micheal boy you speak of. He is loud. Obnoxious at times. But he is kind-hearted with good intentions despite the annoyance that he is. I do not know how that Conch boy stands him. Do not tell him I said that, I fear what he would do. We are nothing alike outside of the eyes, but if comparing me to such a boy makes you more comfortable then go ahead and indulge yourself, Miike.

Indulge yourself in much more than me.

Hey!! Welcome to the club. I wondered what are your thoughts about the choirboys. Merridew, Roger, Alexander, Maurice, Ainsworth, ect. What do you think of them?

“Overall, I like them, they are pretty cool and if I ask, they sing songs by the fire place at night, it makes things lighter and we even managed to “throw a little party”.”

“Jack Merridew. Always acting high and mighty but having so much insecurities it’s sickening. He could’ve been a friend if only he stopped nagging me at forcing to join my “savage” side and try to get me to join his hunters. I am always warry around him, he always tries to intimidate me and tell me bad stuff about civilization and force me to join him, even sometimes physically, I despise it. Im uncomfortable with him.”

“Then there’s Roger, he’s an odd one. We already argued because I saw him throw rocks at Johnny. I never know what to expect from him, when I fought Merridew, he slapped me but the others interrupted before it could go any further. Since then, we keep our distances and I watch him from afar, he’s actually pretty isolated, I’d like to understand him…”

“There’s Bill and Maurice. I somehow never see one without the other, they are best friends, isn’t it amazing? I haven’t got any time to get to know Bill, but we played together in the sand once. With Maurice, it’s different. He’s like the fun type, even if I don’t always get his jokes and sometimes he’s offensing but he’s still pretty cool and sometimes gives me shells.”

“Then there’s Everette!! Everette is my best friend, he’s simply the best! We always stick to each others and even if he’s moody and always complaining, I do love spending time with him. He always teaches me mew stuff, he seems very attached to his mom and his beliefs. Lately though, things are getting pretty tense. More and more boys are telling me Everette hates me. I don’t wanna believe it. But sometimes its hard.”

“Simon? Oh I love him! He’s just the sweetest, he may even be my favorite person. He’s so calm and helps me handle the Littluns. He took me to his ���quiet place” one night and it was a beautiful clear place, where we could bury ourselves in high grass and flowers while relaxing under the sun with a water steam not too far. We don’t need to talk to communicate our mutual feelings, and it’s refreshing. People says he’s “queer”. What does that even mean? Probably someone who’s very kind hearted and wholesome, because that’s all Simon is.”

“I saw Asa around, we never spoke much, but what I remember is that he’s intelligent and looks like a howl with his glasses. He oftens seeks my help with finding plants, I try my best and I think he doesn’t dislike me, which is pretty good since he seems to hate everyone.”

“I saw Michael around. Well, not my Michael, but Messenger Michael! I like him, he’s easy-going and full of surprises he speaks Spanish ! He runs all over the island to deliver messages. I once accompanied him to see why he always did that. It was pretty scary to see how he switched from a group to another, how badly he talked about each groups and how he managed to maintain an angel face. I don’t know what to do anymore, since then, im warry of him. But humans are just like that, right? But…Why?”

well i’m not quite sure what gay means in that context, but miike and i sure do spend a lot of time together! and he makes me really happy!!!! he’s been sleeping with me at night in order to protect me from the beast! there’s strength in numbers or something…. OH ALSO we’ve been sneaking out at night to look at the stars!!!!!! one time we fell asleep up on top of the mountain and piggy wasn’t happy when he couldn’t find us the next morning

Oh my, I'll have to keep you under observation for a couple days. Perhaps there is something more than simple sunburn. I'm sure your prognosis is fine though.

...Although, if there is nothing wrong with you, there might be something more.... psychological occurring. Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying anything about your character! I can assure you that this is completely normal. I'm simply suggesting that your strong emotions are causing a physical reaction. Do these symptoms worsen around others? What about around that messenger boy, Miike?

Either way, we'll see in a couple days.

"Damon's work ethic? Well... He does a lot for the other boys. Despite his rather aloof attitude, there is an aspect of care to him. The dark haired one, Miike, came to him with a bloody nose. How tragic. I wonder how that happened. Must have run into a tree. It wouldn't be the first time. Simon has done it as well.

He has been keeping a rather watchful eye over Miike and Wilbur since they came to him complaining about random insignificant illnesses. Maybe an excuse for the two of them to go off together. I have never quite seen two boys behave like they do. I must look into where they get off to.

Why do you care what I think of Damon? Can't you assert your own opinion on his work ethic yourself? I'd much rather discuss things that I like rather than keep the conversation on the boring, dull, island medic. Yes. I do think he is a good medic. I think he could set a bone straight if it was bent backwards. Does that mean something to you? It means nothing to me. Although it is a good trait to have.

A popular topic. Pssh. I can guarantee you that Damon means nothing to me. Franklin simply pokes and prods where his nose does not belong and ends up chest deep in a mess he created. Franklin's assertions of me are nothing more than a broken mirror reflecting himself back to him.

I would never dare get attached to someone as trivial and insignificant as Damon. I simply do not wish for the only person who could ever dream of tending to - God Forbid - my own wounds, injured. He is snarky, and he does not trust easily. And yet, that Wilbur boy seems to have nestled rather close. I will have to ask him how he did so.

Now, I do not wish to discuss the topic any further. Damon is... Interesting. Nothing more, nothing less.

I- you ask a lot of questions- um, I don’t really know where to start- it’s fine? I guess? Being tall’s only good for so long, but it does help me get stuff. I use it to help the littluns, y’know, with the fruit they can’t reach. That’s about all it’s good for on the island.

I’m glad that you would even ask that I’m strong, but I’m really not. The most I could do is one of the littluns if we’re talking about what’s happening here. At home, it’d just be dragging my instrument around, which does have some decent weight to it.

But nothing more than that. I can’t really pick anyone up even if I tried, and believe me, I have. Even then, I’m a massive klutz, so it’s probably best if I don’t have the weight of someone else on me.

Finally, I can get to your final question…- um, yeah, I am around Simon a lot. He’s just..a lot nicer than some of the other boys. A lot quieter too. No offense, but sometimes you people are too loud for me to handle. Sensitive ears and all that jazz.

I’m probably being drug into the whole “batty” nonsense by being around him as often as I am, but I really don’t mind that. He makes decent conversation. When you can get him talking that is.
