hmmmm thinking abt jin again. and i think like one of my favorite musical trademarks abt his style aside from his guitars that just always scratch the right itch is that he is NOT afraid to go wherever the fuck he wants on the fretboard when writing for bass. he just goes crazy with it and it's GOOD. henshin is especially good w this, zigi is another one, the reboot ver of children record is a bit more understated w it bc of how crowded (non-pejorative) that mix is but imo still a good example.

it's interesting how this emphasis on the bass has kind of built up as he's gained more experience as a composer. in a lot of his early work the bass is just kind of There, still good but nothing particularly stand-out aside from maybe headphone actor (but i May be biased bc that is far and away my fave kagepro song). there are inklings of the building emphasis in the anime tracks but it's not radically different than the original mixes beyond it being more professional and clearly having some more budget behind it (and that cunty little bass solo they fleshed out at like 1:47 in headphone actor) but by the time he's working on post-kp stuff and some of the reboot stuff he's a LOT more confident with putting the bass up at the front of the mix and doing some really funky stuff w it. idk babes! the bass really is that powerful!

also a lot of his solo vocal tracks are nice. little bit of voice envy.

OH FUCK YEAH I WAS HOPING I'D GET TO RAMBLE ABOUT THIS ONE

Okay first of all I think l've posted about this before but he's so fucking Neru coded it's not even funny he literally looks like a character from a Neru MV he's perfect for Neru. He would listen to Re:Education, Abstract Nonsense, and Lost One's Weeping religiously. Also I want to take the chance to plug How-To World Domination because it's my favorite Neru song and it's very important to me.

On top of that there's no way there's no Maretu in this guy's playlist. I'm unfortunately sorely lacking in Maretu knowledge but he'd listen to some of that stuff at least I bet.

Self indulgent Kamimura Kagepro fan hc he'd love Losttime Memory and Outer Science. He's probably not super deep into the lore but he knows some of the songs. I feel like he's just generally not a huge song lore guy but by god does he love a good guitar instrumental.

Speaking of which not vocaloid but he'd listen to Tuyu. (Yes I know about the Tuyu stuff... I'm still in shock jesus fuck.) Specifically like Hide and Seek Alone, Dämonisch, and If There Was An Endpoint (not biased at all because those are my favorite songs)

He's weird because he carries scorn for super popular songs that blow up but also doesn't listen to the MOST obscure stuff so it's just this very specific middle ground. He also probably doesn't like the super high pitched vocaloid tuning of like lyowa and Guchiry. He's just a really judgemental music listener apparently I guess

Producers he listens to: Maretu, Neru, Jin, Kemu, N-buna, Nilfruits/Niru Kajitsu, specifically older Deco*27 (Android Girl era), Hachi, maybe some Yurrycanon?? (might be too niche)

He'd probably also listen to a lot of Eve (so so much Eve...) and I think his favorite vocaloids would be Teto and Rin (when tuned lower). He would definitely really like more weird niche music but he needs someone to get him hooked on it because he looks at it and goes "weird" and leaves.
